"Secretions towards other people and spreading infection remember people without symptoms can have infection and spread it so you may not even know you're spreading it don't share food and don't share utensils and plates and so just be careful take care of your own plates watch them off the bottom of the dishwasher washing hands often and have hand sanitizer available for people so they can use that when they can't go wash their hands in avoid touching your face your eyes your nose or mouth all of those are portals where you can inject infection and yourself so it's Memorial Day weekend I know many of us desperately crave the company of our our family members and our friends I hope you have a wonderful Memorial Day but I urge I urge and I ask that everybody please follow these steps so that we can stay safe together and not have a serious consequences none of us wants as a result I thank very much governor your goal here into scare people though it I mean it's a scary time it's to make sure that we give the best guidance we can't because none of you want the first time you're able to get together to to lead to health complications for anybody so we're gonna continue to talk about this this week there is a way that you can do this safer hopefully safely we just really need you to buy and to to follow the steps so we can make sure that folks can truly be healthy while doing it and remember there are just some things that we can be doing that are that are here and the more that we can make this again a part of our everyday routine the more we'll be able to do going forward let's turn from that too some some additional positive news our next announcement on healthy at work is about June eight this we look forward on June eighth here are some of the additional openings that we will be able to do we're gonna have guidance up soon museums outdoor attractions Aerium sly breweries distilleries we're gonna try to have as much guidance that's applicable to a lot of these because some of them our our our outdoors but also have individual tours are groups they can go through so we're gonna be working hard on this but this gives these businesses some advance notice they're still gonna have to meet the top ten rules and they were gonna try to have some specific guidance for them so this can be done safely can you go to the overall events may and June so it's a big week right this week we've seen government offices start to open back up that doesn't mean they're all open to the public yet funerals are are now able we're gonna be able to do them on starting tomorrow on on a slightly a bigger level but we got to do it safely retail opens tomorrow that's a really big day on Friday restaurants and the ability to get together with Tanner last and then look at Monday I know people have really been looking forward to everything that's that's there this is gonna be a lot of additional activity we just got to make sure that we do it safely but I trust in you we have been so good thus far you have done so well thus far that I believe that we can do this safely but it's gotta be differently if we just go about it the way that we did before it won't work will have to read because our economy and we know how detrimental that can be so let's get it right and according to the advice that that I've got it many times in my life let's not screw it up let's make sure that we again proved the Kentucky can do these things better than just about anybody else how about some more good news let's talk about testing so again we've gone from there not being test for this virus to now look at sites all over Kentucky to there being no excuse for anybody not to get tested and today we're announcing that starting this Friday or partnership with Walmart is going to expand as some of you all know we've been testing with our partner with Walmart in little for several weeks and that we just added the Bardstown location something about city knew it needed and and we were able to to step up and work with them today we are announcing additional locations permanent locations in Ashland Bowling Green Lichfield London Paducah pike full enrichment again these are yes we've had some service in but we can use multiple locations other areas where we needed additional testing we really appreciate Walmart and their partnerships and these partnerships have been really helpful for us so when we think about you know what we need to combat this virus we need to continue our social distancing we need to testing capacity which we now have and we need tracing which we are putting together that infrastructure as we went over yesterday so some tough news today twenty deaths that's hard some normal news our number of cases where it's back down to and some good news and new testing and what we think will be able to do for for healthy at work now on the testing front again before I leave it our Kroger drive thru sites which are our highest volume testing again we have more spots available first of all little Johnny parkston really good job after last night they filled up those test testing sites we just need people to show up no more no shows but otherwise good job Richmond whole lot more after talking yesterday it looks like we're really close about fifty more spots on Thursday Ohio in grace county continue to have a lot more spots available almost four hundred spots in Ohio county tomorrow Wednesday and Thursday which means if you're anywhere in the area and you go online tonight you can get a test tomorrow or Thursday we need you to do that grace counted the same way the way they've been hit even if you think they're a long term care facilities there's a way it got in there and there's a way gets out of there so we really need you to get tested graves county three hundred more tests available on Wednesday four hundred more tests available on Thursday our ability to do the high volume sites in different areas around the state is dependent on people signing up for it you want your area to be as safe as it can I know we all have pride to be in Kentucky inns but I know we also pride to be in western Kentucky and sore or eastern Kentucky and some so let's make sure that we do our civic duty we get tested to make sure that our area can be as safe as it can and remember as we step into contact tracing and we're gonna be talking about it more your duty as a Kentucky and as a patriotic American is to answer the call we're gonna live we're going to re open in a time of contagion which means that we all have to do our part if we been contagious or if we've been exposed to someone with it this is all of us working together to reopen our economy and reopening it depends on all of us all of us doing the right thing if a small fraction of us don't and spread the virus guess what the rest of us pay for it but if we all do the right thing we can do this really really well and I think we can move forward with a strength that we won't see in many other areas of the state all right so today we have four digit journalist joining us we have Tom light tech we have Joe Russo we have learnt Smith we have Joe soccer and then I have a series of questions like every day that have been submitted will do talking other any this year giving his daily update on a corona virus in the Commonwealth announcing a new single day high in deaths twenty Kentucky inns confirmed dead from corona virus related complications just since yesterday that is a new high for the governor governor also continuing to talk about expanded testing and announcing some new business openings that'll be allowed starting next month along with guidelines for the rules when it comes to gatherings of ten people or fewer that is going to lift as of Friday the start of the Memorial Day weekend your doctor Stephen stacking they're going over the continued guideline suggestions of safety in terms of distancing holding your events outside still wearing a mask and it's cetera we will run it all down for you and more coming up at six o'clock right now though it's five thirty five am news radio seven "Thank you governor we'll try to be really strong on the encouragement here for you so I want to thank you first all the examples of kindness and caring that I see are really really inspiring so I I've told you that people said I maybe should smile a little bit more that's probably good advice in general it's hard to smile this is kind of scary stuff but the honey bee T. shirt that people made I really appreciated the Lexington fire crew who made signs and stood with the signs like this to show don't be a honey bee I really like that thank you today I went for a walk in my neighborhood there teddy bears and windows and on chairs outside I think for the kids I mean the community spirit is fantastic but a caution don't let the kids touch the Katie beers and don't let the kids go up to the windows and touch the windows okay that defeats the purpose but the spirit is fantastic and am I wore my heart to see that as I walk through the neighborhood today but I gotta tell you were crunch time all right the next two to three weeks are pivotal in you don't need me just to tell you that now you just have to turn on the news yourself look at social media and see what's going on in New York City what people are concerned will happen in other parts of the country this is crunch time there's a number of different ways things can play out we can make it play out really well or we can make a play out really badly and if you do the things the governor has asked you to do that's the good scenario that's where everybody has the best chance to stay healthy and well in our family our loved ones and our friends don't get hurt by this like they might otherwise get hurt so I have a few shoutouts today in these aren't the good ones so I've gotten reports there's a bunch of churches in graves county who are still going to have services you can't be doing that I want you to think about it this way and I realize this is a little bit more stark but if you have a pair of shoes six hundred people on your haven't services right now how are you going to feel of only five hundred show up for Christmas service this year and that's the way you need to think about it this is not a game this is real if you do these things there are people who may not be around later this year to celebrate the next big event with you there's a fellow in Mercer county who felt it was important enough to get tested that he left Mercer county got it tested now refuses to comply with the local health department at all to say who he was around how we got exposed to may have been exposed to him so it was important enough to get a test but it was not important enough to comply with the health professionals who are now trying to keep him and everyone else safe you can't be doing that stuff so you have to assume and I don't mean this to be fearful of each other I mean this just as a matter of practical advice assume everybody around you has the corona virus just assume that the people that you're seeing on the street the people you're sitting next to somewhere have the coronavirus if you keep that six to ten feet between you and you keep the social distancing you're going to be okay if you're getting in close it for on the putting green with a whole group of people if you're going to service and I'm not picking on churches if you go to home depot or Lowes hurricane era some other store that's open because there are central in you congregate you are endangering yourself and others in this is not a time when it's someone else this is a disease that knows no geographic boundaries it's not doesn't respect whether you're a man or woman or child although it is less harmful to the kids so that's bearing.
