It's Unfathomable That Biden Is Considering 450K for Families Separated at Border

"Writing a wrong. That's what the Biden administration believes paying hundreds of thousands of dollars per illegal will do. My goodness, I just can't stop thinking about all the gold star families. Hardworking Americans, what would $450,000 from the government mean to you? What would it do to your life right now? If you've spent your life doing the right thing and people who do the wrong thing, according to the Biden administration, are going to get rewarded. I was hearing it. I just heard a story last week about a family friend whose loved one is dealing with a spouse who is on a work Visa, from another country. And she has worked hard, she has paid her taxes. She has obeyed she's dotted every eye and crossed every T and faces the prospect of being kicked out of the country. Has been put through so much has immigration lawyer where they paid a fortune, done everything they can. Yet she faces deportation. Had she snuck across the Rio Grande on a banana boat, maybe she should get a check for $450,000.

"You'll learn about the amazingly central role, Eric vitro has played through all the challenges these stars have experienced. Shawn Mendes said it himself. Eric is part therapist, part life coach. Now, here's a preview of backstage pass. In this episode, Ariana Grande talks to Eric about her vocal range, how Broadway influences her music, touring, and the struggles of perfect pitch and how it can be both a blessing and a curse. You can hear more backstage pass episodes wherever you get your podcasts. Okay, here's the episode. I had asked you, which was your favorite vocal exercises? And you said the roller coasters up and down. Can you give an example of that? So people know what you were talking about? Oh. Okay, aim high on the low note very quiet. Well, perfect. Much better, much better. It has a much better. I needed to stretch it out. That was Ariana Grande singing. She may be world famous for her spectacular voice, but that's really just one part of who she is. She's also one of the sweetest and most caring people I know. So when I asked her if she'd be down to demonstrate how a voice lesson works, she said, sure. Let's do it. Which is a good keep headway. Whatever you want right there. Okay. Let's try this on a week. Then I might say, give it a little more support on the high note. Now just to loosen up your shoulders. One more. Oh my gosh. You're probably more familiar with hearing her singing songs than exercises. Songs like positions, dangerous woman. Thank U next. God is a woman, you know, there's a lot of hits in there, so I won't keep going with that. You might have grown up with her on Nickelodeon where she played the adorable shall we say very dimwitted cat Valentine on the show, victorious. Or you might have actually seen her on Broadway where she first got her start in the musical 13. And but there's people too fast. And then if I thought, well, she sounded a little not you, 'cause you don't ever get stiff. But let's say feeling stiff or whatever I'd say, hey, move around, loosen up your body a little bit. I'm so stubborn when you ask me to move. I'm always like, I don't want to flail around. I'm waving my arms now just so everyone can visualize. Yeah, it's not just stubborn on that. Hey. There's been times when I've given you an exercise and you I told someone this one time I said, yeah, there's times I'll say I'll play and you'll go and literally like Eric. That's insane. And literally be like, and I'm like, Eric, that's 78 notes. I don't have time. That's a whole. All right. You have to sing God as a woman in four minutes. I don't have this kind of time. This is backstage pass. I'm Eric vitro. In this podcast, I'm inviting you into my studio to hear how some of the most successful and famous singers work on their craft, the art of singing. They also happen to be students of mine, so I have to say, I know them pretty well. We'll talk about everything, their vocal process, their careers, how their emotional life affects their voice and how it all intertwines with their lives. For me, being a vocal coach is all about listening and thinking on my feet. I ask a student to do a vocal exercise and then how their voice responds determines what the next exercise should be. I have to ask myself a lot of questions along the way. How does their voice sound at that moment? How did it react to the exercise? What I hear tells me what my student needs at that moment. I'm so glad we just did that because now people can understand that's how a voice lesson works. I've learned by doing it because you're now singing a cappella. I think it improves people's ears because they're really hearing themselves. Oh yeah, it's not fun. Yeah, and they're singing along with the piano. They don't even know the little tiny things where it goes a little in and out. Ariana and I have been working together for over 14 years now. Well, maybe even more, I think we met in 2007. We don't always spend all of our time with singing lessons, though. I mean, we've had some great conversations and we've spent some really fun holidays together. Guys, we painted each other mugs. Are we okay? Yeah, I think we are okay because it was really fun. No surprise, the one she painted was gorgeous and amazing and creative and mine was okay. But let's rewind. Let's go back to the beginning because of course her journey started before ours did. Now, didn't your grandmother take you to your first audition? Yeah, so Nona took me to audition to sing the national anthem at the Panthers game. That was a really cool moment. I remember singing on the ice and being freezing cold and it was like my first real gig and I sang the national anthem for the Panthers, my hometown,.

Haitian Government Asks Biden Administration to Pause Mass Deportations

"The haitian government is asking the biden administration to pause mass deportations of migrants back to haiti amid a surge of haitian migrants crossing the rio grande river river. Nbc news correspondent. Morgan chaska got exclusive access to the southern texas encampment. These migrants are now calling home. These are the men women and children calling the shade of texas border bridge. Whole the group. Mostly from haiti. Now number nearly fifteen thousand strong. They've come here with little hoping to claim asylum and turn launching a massive mission for state and federal agencies secure. The border provide and process every single person over the last few days we moved approximately thirty three hundred individuals. We expect that number to increase in the days ahead. Our crew granted exclusive access to visit with those whose futures remain uncertain. This woman named yvo telling us she's been here more than a week and his barely eaten for many. They're only nourishment the food and water handouts. That can't come fast enough now has been only a matter of days since this group's swelled in size underneath the bridge but as we push this direction you can see that there is already a small city that has formed here in the shadow out this rich plants from the riverbank being used in some cases as temporary roofs as children playing the shade. Everyone trying to do whatever they can to stay cool. Massive accusations along the border began this morning. Some planes flying migrants from san antonio direct to port-au-prince haiti others are being bused to other processing locations. Such as paso laredo. Those flown home today returned to a country still reeling from a devastating earthquake. Deportation flights only expected to arrive in the coming

Texas Abortion Law: US Supreme Court Votes Not to Block Ban

"Earlier. This month in the middle of the night. The supreme court refused to block a texas law that bans most abortions that law is now the most restrictive abortion measure in the nation it bans abortions after about six weeks of pregnancy and establishes a sort of bounty system. That allows anyone to sue those involved in facilitating an abortion. This is a bigger than texas. The decision could be a blueprint of gutting. Roe v wade. The supreme court ruling that legalized abortion nationally is going to play out in the courts and while it does groups on the ground are figuring out how to adopt is ena. Zamora is the executive director of the fraud data fund they provide support and funding for those seeking abortions in texas rio grande valley. We're gonna talk about what this decision means for those seeking care and where the spite goes from here. A lot of us are in texas right now. We're not looking at this through the lens of someone who was there where using where in texas are you. I'm located in the rio grande valley so deep south texas along the us mexico border. What are you hearing from people in texas. There's a lot of confusion around the law and just people being upset. I think a lot of people think that this law just went way too far the biggest concern for most of the people who do abortion funding work is. How are we going to help. People get their abortion care in your own words. What is this legislation. Do so sp eight what it does is. It bans abortion past six weeks in texas. It is essentially a complete abortion banned because by the time. Most people know that they're pregnant. They're unable to get an abortion and texas. This also has a very cruel and specific civil litigation our civil cause of action that allows anybody to sue anybody else who helps quote unquote to aid and abet someone and getting abortion care in texas past six weeks

Children Stopped at Border Likely Hit Record-High in July

"U. S. officials suggest the number of children traveling alone at the Mexican border last month reached an all time high U. S. authorities likely picked up more than nineteen thousand unaccompanied children in July exceeding the previous high set in March of eighteen thousand eight hundred seventy seven the number for June was just over fifteen thousand and that's just children for families about eighty thousand had encounters with U. S. authorities twenty five thousand more than the month before and just shy of the all time high of eighty eight thousand most of the activity about seventy percent was concentrated in the border patrol's del Rio and Rio Grande Valley sectors in South Texas authorities note the comparisons from month to month aren't directly comparable because some migrants crossed the border repeatedly because the covert induced band has no legal consequences to stop them from trying again I am Jackie Quinn

Are Unvaccinated Migrants to Blame for Recent COVID Spikes?

"I work in a medium with a whole bunch of smart people. I've known the great one as he's affectionately called mark levin for years mark last night was on fox. News asked a great question. A terrific question. A with with all the cdc guidance about masks about mandatory vaccines about all of it. What are you doing about the illegals. Here's mark. I have a question. For the cdc busy issuing all kinds of orders to american citizens vaccinated citizens are supposed to wear masks. Don't you understand when you tell people that they're not going to get vaccinated on the one hand you say hurry up and get vaccinated on the other hand we're gonna treat you as if you're not vaccinated that's not science that's stupidity and we've had a lot of stupidity at a federal scientists and medical directors over the course of the last eighteen months but you wanna know big stupidity. We've an open southern border. People are pouring into this country so fast we don't know how many covert cases among migrants and the rio grande valley sector surge. Nine hundred percent of the border numbers. Continue to rise. We don't know how many illegal aliens have it. We know they're not tested. We know they're poor. They're coming from poorer countries that they don't have access to vaccines. Maybe that's the problem. Maybe because our southern border is open by design people coming across the border situation. We're being overwhelmed. You look at the red map. The cdc director puts out there. What do you see. The southeastern united states is getting hit. Hardest southern california's getting hit hardest. How come they're not getting hit in north carolina. North dakota how come. They're not getting hit on the northern border the way they are on the southern border. Well we have some ideas about this. Don't we now the. Cdc is so out of control that it ordered not long ago landlords not to raise rates or to to remove tenants and a federal court. Said you're the. Cdc you don't have the power to do that. Hey cdc joe by never question for you for health purposes cdc. Why don't you issue orders to secure the southern border so we can make sure people who are coming across. Don't have the virus and aren't spreading in the united

The Effects of Trump's Migrant Protection Protocol

"So it's sunday march seven and it's to be eleven. Am and right. Now i'm in the modus mexico I'm in a small plus that is right next to the microphone. Tenting cat mint is. I recorded this audio earlier this year the day after a migrant camp just across from brown so in south texas was cleared out for almost two years it was the home for hundreds of mostly central americans and mexicans seeking asylum in the us most had finally been allowed into the us some were sent to nearby shelter before they can be processed into the country others however were left in limbo. You know what i'm looking inside and it's really really quiet I'm used to you know hearing you know kids families moms dads talking to each other running around playing really really quite now at one point this now. Empty area held more than three thousand asylum. Seekers forced to wait in mexico as their cases made their way or us immigration courts. Historically for decades people had always been allowed to remain in the us while seeking asylum. It's their right under. Us law and international treaty obligations but the trump administration disregarded all of that when it is the remain in mexico policy officially known as the migrant protection protocols or mpp the policy. I rolled out in january of twenty thousand hundred in southern california and slowly spread across the entire southern border. As they walked by the ten are here. They're empty. They see firewood branches. I see little tables. They see shoes. You know that have been left behind. It's kinda crazy that it's like now closed. I met so many families who had been living in this camp without much help from either the mexican or us governments. The Origin Story of Agatha Christie

"Today we're talking about the grande dame of the english. Done it. The jk rolling of selling books before there is a jk rolling. Please meet our dreamer of the day. The queen of crime agatha christie agatha was born in eighteen ninety in the seaside town of turkey in devon england. She was the youngest of three children born into an upper middle class home. Acas father frederick was an american stockbroker and her irish-born mother clara took care of the house and her children's early education after her father's sudden death when agatha was eleven. the family's financial situation became more precarious. An agatha was sent to paris to complete her education when she completed finishing school. I get the return to england only to start a months long tour of the middle east with her mother. While traveling agatha tried her hand at writing short stories and an early novel but wasn't able to get anything published. She did however meet her future husband archie christie while in cairo. They got married right before the outbreak of world war one during the war archie was sent to france to fight the germans. We'll get the returned home to england. She worked as a nurse. And then eventually chemist's assistant on the home front as the war raged across the channel agatha started writing detective fiction in her downtime. She'd always loved mystery. Novels particularly the works of wilkie collins and sir arthur conan doyle so it was a natural fit at this first novel. The mysterious affair at styles was published in nineteen twenty. Her debut work introduced the world to the iconic hair kua paro agatha's eccentric and egoistic belgian detective with the little grey cells and a perfectly quaffed moustache from frog. I am a bloody legal. Belgian perot appeared in about twenty five novels and many short stories. The elderly village spinster. Miss jane marple agatha's other iconic detective first appeared in her novel. Murder at the vicarage in one thousand nine thirty agatha's first. Major literary success came with the publication of her novel. The murder of roger ackroyd in nineteen twenty six. It was met with massive international acclaim and became an immediate bestseller. No spoilers but suffice it to say that. The murder of roger. Ackroyd is an ingenious and innovative. Who done it that still manages to amaze

"President. Trump is set to visit the US Mexico border this week, just days after Vice President Kamala Harris made her own visit to Texas. Both trips come at a time when many Republicans are describing the situation at the border as a quote crisis with unauthorized crossings at their highest level in decades. NPR's Joel Rose covers immigration and joins us now. Hi, Joel. Hey, Sarah. What do we know about Trump's upcoming visit? Well. He's expected to visit the Rio Grande Valley in Texas on Wednesday, along with Texas Governor Greg Abbott and a group of congressional Republicans, and they're essentially trolling the Biden administration by highlighting the high number of border crossings this year. Here's some of what Trump said last night at a rally in Ohio Illegal aliens are Overrunning their borders. Nobody's ever seen anything like it. Our poor borders was so perfect. They were so good. The rhetoric from that rally should sound very familiar to anyone who's followed former President Trump and the way he often talks about immigrants as a threat. And a burden. "Did arianna finally find the right guy. She announced her engagement. Adulting gomez over the weekend showing off her new bullying. We learn these two. Were dating back in. May after they made an appearance in the video for her song with justin bieber called stuck with you so it's been about two years davidson ended their engagement to ask the hard hitting question. Do we think dalton is the wine first of all before we even get to that. Yeah dalton mp look exactly alike no but arianna rhonda and dalton look exactly alike and by the way for the record. I can't believe i said blink. I just want to move on from that way. I just want to know. I would never say that. They look like just and look at. They look ally scary. That means what that's the one. I saw look alike. it means to make it <hes>. Have you guys heard the new. Ariana grande album by any chance. No i have not song. It's called positions. It's unbelievable and it's all about having good sex. This woman found somebody who she can connect with on a different level. And for that. I feel if we can connect on that level. Let's take it to the next level and see what else we can connect on this unhappy for her. I know the davidson thing was a whirlwind. But this seems like it's the real thing absolutely feels like the real thing it is. But i keep looking her as a little girl. I know she's she's probably you're right. He's probably having sex up difficult for me. But i mean a beautiful. Did you see the rain raining. Yeah so we're gonna get into that. So arianna said obviously so many high profile romances. Is it smart for her to date somebody who is not in the industry though so. He's obviously not a celebrity. He works in real estate. You feel like that's a better move. I think that's a better move. I also think that is good that he has a little bit of background in the industry. You know he used to be a dancer. He was around celebrity so he understands what it means to be private and to support somebody. But i think one of those special things ever is. This man was friends with scooter. Braun before here on grand they got together. Scooter approves which means is good for the family.

"Good morning everyone. Welcome to the currently on podcast. It is Sunday August the second two, thousand twenty. It is currently nine twenty four am central time and I have some possibly. Let me stress that possibly big news. Now, if you're an Arianna Guerande Fan, you're gonna WanNa stay tune because the big news is possibly about Arianna `grande and something that could becoming now you may have already heard you may already know so I may be a little late with this information I understand that, but I'll offer my own thoughts in my own unique perspective. And we'll make some predictions and we will see yes impossibly big Arianna `Grande News coming you have to stay tuned. But before we get to the news, let's take a step back and let's talk about the current state of the music industry because I think this is very relevant to this news about Arianna. Guerande right. Now, the music industry is in a very difficult situation the the music world finds itself as do all of us in a covert nineteen world and the way the cove nineteen world is impacting. The music industry is pretty obvious. One of the big ways. Bands and Musicians make money right now in our world is going on tour but guess what the Covid nineteen world you can't go onto our I guess you could go on tour and stand in an empty building and play music. The only problem is you can't make money that way the way the artists make money by going on tours by obviously selling tickets and selling merchandise and guess what you need for that to happen you need people in the lineup by those tickets and lineup to come into the place remains to perform and be there for your concert but if covert nineteen restrictions prohibit that. They can't do that. So if you're a musician that takes away a major way, you can make money. So that's already negatively impacts, musicians, artists, and the music industry as a whole, but there's this leads to a lot of This leads to a lot of difficulty and trying to figure out what to do..

is it's it's just we're actually just adjacent to the harkens theater and you just drive all the way down and passed in and out and we've got food trucks we've got a beer garden we've got a car show we've got the home show indoors is gonna be music over forty five exhibitors Raffles going on and that's on the when you're driving through on I ten is the site take a left off of or head east on I can take a left at the in N. out burger and follow in to to the left until you get to work you can't miss us there's cars intense and everything here you can't miss the in N. out burger that is and you know an interesting thing so many people that drive between Phoenix and Tucson I've never spole off on castle Grande mean it's it's so easy to just drive straight through on I ten I got it three lanes now through there you just was by but I tell you what when I drive through and pull off and drive around all I see and castle Grande is opportunity that is a growing community and there is there is so much more there that you don't even realize floor if you just fly by on the interstate I certainly recommend anyone take a stop and take a look around we have a lot to offer here in casa Grande in fact anyone who comes down today enjoy the home show and then when we close up go grab a bite to eat at one of our local eateries whether you want to get some steak at the Dylan's cactus Gardner really good chili relleno at Ricardo's and then wait till sunset and go see the neon sign park okay I I'm gonna ask about the neon sign part but you mentioned the Dylan because we never go through cost around without stopping there and enjoying a fabulous meal and it is a beautiful cactus garden as well what is the neon park the neon sign park is something that just opened up this past year and we received the city received a the main street program received some funding to start that out and we are restoring old neon signs from back in the day and because the Grande and it's it's a self guided tour park at sunset all the time to let up and it's growing every every year with more signs well you got to see this I I just looked at the website this is so cool call home man if you're interested in scoping casa Grande out as a potential place to relocate you better do it quick they pulled twice as many building permits this year in nineteen as they did in eighteen it now county is catching on it sure as in you know we have big wide open spaces here Big Sky at night and you know we may be growing but it still has a nice small town feel that's why I love living here it does any all right got you all are attracting great employment employer opportunities they're all locating in that general area as well so you are doing a great job all the way around thank you very much we're pretty proud what's going on here and how long does the home show go today today it is from ten AM to two PM and tomorrow for hours no it's just two days only all right come today we appreciate it and again that is behind the in N. out burger you can't miss it if you're driving on ice I ten it's on the east side of the street and it's going on today you can catch up with lance engine and the road they're one of the exhibitors in the Rosie on the house and your sin for transit and they've got you store products and I'm not I'll have to verify with lance but I cannot remember if which one of the tools there have a special promotion that they're running on for whatever the thirtieth anniversary and you know there's a we didn't even mention the fresco Grande hotel that was designed for the San Francisco Giants or spring training hotel beds you like this best place in the world to watch because a gun the sun rise and moon set it on the seventy eight dollars and yeah that's not for penthouse yeah that's extremely affordable I can't remember exactly what but it was worth it for it was less than two hundred dollars and I don't know any better hotel seven stores up on the penthouse suite is a more than less than that they wanted us to experience it when we had our what would you call it when I I guess so we had a meeting there with our partners and homeowners and it was the most central location between the two major markets and just have had a great time there but if you like baseball it's a great place in a hotel designed to fit the brim of a baseball hat the pools design like the bat just the amount of of baseball history you get a great history around casa Grande all right absolutely so we've got our topic this our topic our topic is home safety hazards and and how to prevent them so we started the show this morning we felt like on a day were talking home safety let's bring in the executive director of the curator education for the hall of flame museum first responders and started show talking about what's available to see if that museum then we had the landscape our with say integrity save a tree and we were talking about everyone's favorite tree and had a great conversation but she stutters owner but what we're talking about in this particular hour is home safety.

"Promo code brain. Brooklyn are the best sheets ever. That was a good segue. Did you like that? Sure. Was. Yeah. How wouldn't you? Visualize warn the menu toasty. I wanna know what you think of Ariana GRANDE as tattoo buck. Oh my God. My okay. Here's my one. My favorite parts is that. Yeah. I think it was yesterday. I saw the article on CNN that was like Arianna 'Grande gets. Or hand tattoo that doesn't mean what you think it does? And then this morning I wake up and look at CNN, and it's like Arianna 'Grande fixes. Lactose? Like, I I was like is this Mark. Oh, no. That's so funny. And her response was pretty good. I got she took it. Well, she did. And then she was like and also do like tiny grills, right? She loves small Parbat. Yes. That was it. I do like tiny barbecues. Right. I mean, so as somebody who has a tattoo from another language, I understand this problem. I mean, I haven't to get it. Correct. But there really is. You really don't know unless you speak that language and read that language and somebody wrote underneath her picture like it serves her right for using someone else's culture as an accessory. And I was wondering what you think of that. Because I had never thought about that. I just think that some script is more beautiful than others, and it's not necessarily appropriation. But what do you think? That's a tough one for me. You know, 'cause I do kind of see it and understand what they're saying. You know, I feel like would you like if somebody in Asian country with the English word, you wouldn't? Offensive. No gosh. No. I would just be like kinda stupid. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It'll be but the I think it's I think it has something to do with making it cryptic. Yeah. So it's more like not wanting other people to know what it is. We'll 'cause as you said earlier, it's a symbol. Yet symbols can be significant and beautiful in a way that you know, maybe your native tongue wouldn't be. Yes. Yes. You know? And I like as long as there's a respect. And here's what I would not approve and, you know, like me approving like, I'm like the. This is like check your privilege, Sarah. "So in the songs have been rings were hearing the words you like my hair g thanks just bought it. Which at the time Nokia was saying is basically the essence of her song mind, you know, in her song. She says we bought it it's ours and she accused 'Grande of removing the racial context behind her song. So the song Nokia's ends actually with a monologue telling white people not to ask black women whether their hair is a wig or not so new Kias calls a plagiarism, then attracted a pretty large. Attention soldier boy jumped in who is on an international tour. Funny enough on day was just like the next stop. Yup. Pretty much. No. He said her song ripped off his two dozen ten pretty two thousand ten single pretty boy swag, and in a bunch of fan edited videos than he then re tweeted there was like people comparing the two songs, and I'll say I don't wanna call what area Grandes doing a flow, but the wage she is singing this song in the whole aesthetic of the song is pretty much pretty boy swag, right? But I gotta say I want to go back to sophomore year of high school or yourself that oh pretty boy. Swag would make a huge comeback because it was all I listen to on my ipod nano. Oh, no. It was it was it was like lime green member. Okay. So then afterwards to chains came in on Instagram and said that Arianna 'Grande ripped off his pink trap house that is actually a real trap while I don't wanna call it a real trap house, but it is a real place in Atlanta, Georgia that he constructed and one. "Even if a loved one goes to drug we have you can't do the work of recovery for them. And you can't prevent be less. And lastly, you can't accept behavior that violates boundaries to avoid nibbling loved ones you have to set boundaries. And once you've laid out your boundaries. Allowing them to be violated destroys her credibility and perpetuates your loved ones addiction. And that's really what I found. I learned the hard way where when you know, someone close to continued to relapse, I would I would feel like oh God. Is messed up like, I let them down to the point where we were no longer assigning agency to the person it was it was just me, and, you know, friends and family, but we all were doing this dance where that person was dissolved of all of their actions, and it just fell all of us when they slipped up. And of course, if you are struggling with addiction, you might slip up even if even after you, get sober. It just wasn't a healthy situation and understanding that boundary with really important. And I'm glad that REO 'Grande even stood young age establish that boundary because she deserves to be happy. You know, you don't deserve to have your entire life become about taking care of somebody else. That's not yourself. I feel like.
