"Us are reflecting back on the past year outgoing Maryland governor Larry Hogan is looking back on 8 years in office. WTO's Kate Ryan tells us about one memory. His speech from his first inauguration in 2015. The snow was flying the crowd was cheering and Maryland governor Larry Hogan was ready to deliver the biggest speech of his career to that point. I'd never spoken with a teleprompter before. And Hogan had practiced. And I said to the guy, well, what happens if something goes wrong? They were like, it never happens. As he was heading into the home stretch of his 2015 inaugural address. A commitment to doing things differently will be challenging. Hogan looked to the teleprompters and saw it happen. And they both flickered and went off. Hogan known for being blunt, made plain what was going on. I lost the teleprompter. It will be challenging. He was able to get to the end of the speech using just the one working teleprompter. But it still came off pretty well. Kate Ryan, WTO P news. Hey, not everyone's happy to give a toast at a holiday dinner. Here's some advice if you find yourself in that position. What makes it the best toast? I like a little bit of poetry. I just do. I think it could be a limerick if you wanted it to be. Tom ponton should know, he recently won the Guinness toast contest. They called me like a week later. And said you won, and I had to play the message over and over again. Han son says try to memorize your toast that's based around a sentiment, but when in doubt, you can turn to your favorite song. So I'm a fan of Jimmy Buffett and he has a song, which I think would make a good toast and that's following my wake. "Help bring a metro station to the national harbor area. Republican governor Larry Hogan has gotten high marks for his handling of Maryland's budget, yesterday he previewed some of the highlights of the next budget his team is working on with democratic governor elect westmore's incoming administration. In what's basically a blueprint that he's leaving behind, governor Larry Hogan's touting a 9th straight increase in education spending in more money for public safety. More than $500 million to help recruit and retain more quality officers to increase diversity, expand community policing efforts, improve training. Governor elect Wes Moore will have two days to submit a final budget when he takes office. They're meeting with our budget team. 2023 will also be the first time the General Assembly will have increased budgetary powers, and with a big surplus and big rainy day fund, Hogan warned lawmakers against the old habits of raiding the rainy day fund or recklessly spending down the surplus. States Ban TikTok From Government Devices

"Let's go back to China. Governor Larry Hogan last week banned ByteDance, TikTok, and some Russian apps as well. Do you prove of what he did? I understand what he did. I mean, I'm open to that as a solution. Now, if there are ways that we can ensure that the data is in the United States and not going to CCP, that's a possibility. Look, I actually thought president Trump had a good idea on this, which is to get them to sell TikTok to an American company. And ideally, if we could do that, that seems to be the best solution because there are a lot of people on TikTok. There are millions of people and just stopping at cold turkey. I don't think is going to work. But the question is, how do we make sure that data isn't getting to the Chinese government?

"Four O three evaluation. That's 703-763-0118 and grow your hair back. Governor Larry Hogan is just a few more weeks before he leaves office. He served two consecutive four year terms, the limit for governors in Maryland. He's been sending signals for months now that he may run for president. This week he told 1700 supporters in Annapolis that he is not ready yet to make an announcement formally, at least not right now. He says, he'll talk with his family first, along with friends next year about whether or not he should mount a presidential campaign. I was thinking back and go back to 2014, there was not a soul that believed it was remotely possible to elect the Republican governor in the bluest state in America. The fundraiser generated more than a million bucks for Hogan's political action committee. Maryland and old bay seasoning for plenty of marylanders, your state Cred can be measured by your love of the seasoning and whether you can pick a blue crab. Naturally, we've talked politics with Marilyn governor elect westmore by WTO P also wanted to get to know him better personally. So he asked him to tell us his feelings about old bay and blue crabs. First question, old day seasoning, is it overhyped or is it really good on everything? Put it on everything, says Maryland's governor elect Wes Moore. It's one of these unique spices that it literally can go on breakfast, lunch, or dinner meals. So where does the old bay go at the breakfast table? Oh, eggs. You can absolutely put old bay on eggs. And I do. It just adds a level of intensity

Hogan to gather with supporters amid White House speculation

"Will he or won't he? Larry Hogan is gathering with supporters amid White House speculation. Maryland's Republican governor Larry Hogan will leave office on January 18th and appears to be considering his political future. Hogan's attending a leadership summit in Annapolis to talk about his record and the future of the country, then he's holding separate casino fundraisers, won a shindig for his nonprofit in America united, and another for his relatively new political action committee called better path forward, which has donated to moderate but unsuccessful Republican candidates in several states. Hogan served 8 years in Maryland where Democrats outnumber the GOP two to one, and he's positioned himself as part of a purple wave and alternative to former president Donald Trump, who has already announced his candidacy for president. Hogan's been a fierce Trump critic, saying in an interview that he lit up state hotlines by suggesting people could drink disinfectants to cure COVID-19, and one saying he'd given up guessing what Trump might do next. IRS Is Getting 87,000 New Employees.

"IRS is getting 87,000 new employees. Most of whom will be agents. Over ten years, but that's half the size of the Marine Corps. That's the Democrats answer to inflation. What do you think about that governor? Well, first of all, I'd rather have 87,000 more marines than IRS agents. Yes, for sure. Yeah, it's outrageous. And I mean, just even just saying you're going to grow any bureaucracy in the federal government by 87,000 people is something that sounds absurd because we continue to have federal government growing out of control, but when you talk about 87,000 people that are going to be potentially coming after average taxpayers, that's very, very concerned.

Are Trump Boxes the Real Problem?

"I do want to talk about allocation of bureau resource. You have a lot of FBI agents living in your state and they're important and valued members of our entire national fabric. They do great work. But I don't know where John Bolton lives, but the Iranian revolutionary guard corps could force does. I'm worried about people in front of justice Kavanaugh's house, including an attempted assassination of him. I'm worried about an open border. I'm I just don't know about the allocation of resources to boxes and Donald Trump's basement that this represents. Well, I can't argue with that and Marilyn probably has a higher percentage of FBI agents living there than any other state. I would imagine we've got a higher percentage of federal employees than any other state we surround the nation's capital. I just had a meeting with John Bolton last week in Annapolis. He lives in Maryland. And he does have security. I mean, I don't know all the details of these threats, but apparently it's still a concern. And we have been both Glenn youngkin and I, governor of Virginia, have been pushing the Biden administration to do more at the federal level to help us. It's been state and local police trying to enforce the law, but there are federal laws protecting the Supreme Court Justices, and they're really not doing it.

Governor Hogan's Reaction to the Search

"Reaction governor to the search at Mar-a-Lago. Well, it was, it was really kind of a totally unprecedented situation. And I read your piece about it, and I agreed with everything that you had to say. But I don't want to rush the judgment. It certainly, the federal government, better provide overwhelming evidence that this action was absolutely necessary. Otherwise, I think it can have the potential to undermine faith in democracy and the rule of law. And we're so divided as a country today, dangerously divided. And Americans are starting to lose faith in our government institutions. And so I called on the Biden administration to release at a minimum, the documents authorizing the FBI search. I understand it's a federal investigation that they can't tell us all the details, but I think it's critically important that the American people really deserve to know all the facts and we need to I think to go overboard to what's really unprecedented transparency and accountability from these organizations. So no man is above the law, not even the president of the United States. And everyone is innocent until proven guilty, but it seems to be an unusual situation, obviously. But I don't want to rush the judgment without knowing the facts. You're

Maryland's governor is not happy that the feds are holding up his plan to expand the beltway and I two 70. In a statement issued Friday, governor Larry Hogan said the acting federal highway administrator Stephanie Pollock has delayed the decision that would allow his $7.5 billion plan intended to ease gridlock in the region to move ahead. The project would replace the American legion bridge and add toll lanes to I two 70 and parts of the capitol beltway. While Hogan blasted the decision calling it irresponsible and incompetent federal overreach, he also said he's directing his own transportation department to apply for help from the federal government in the form of a bridge loan. "Higher than 5%. Campaign 2022, today, the last day for early in person voting ahead of next week's primary in Maryland. If you're voting by mail, you still have time, mail in ballots must be postmarked by Tuesday's primary election day to be counted. But don't expect results immediately. That's because Marilyn law says the counting of mail in ballots doesn't begin until two days after the election. The General Assembly passed a bill that would have allowed election workers to begin processing mail in ballots before election day, but outgoing governor Larry Hogan vetoed that bill. Nearly 500,000 mail in ballots were requested this year compared to about 30,000 in 2018. And governor Hogan is in New Hampshire now, hinting strongly about a run for president in 2024. "Governor larry hogan the chaotic and heartbreaking scenes out of afghanistan over the last several days with innocent civilians running for their lives in fear of the taliban is the result of a rush and irresponsible withdrawal many of these afghan citizens. Our allies bravely risked their lives to provide invaluable support for many years to our efforts as interpreters and support staff and we have a moral obligation to help them for their service. These allies their immediate families are eligible to receive special immigrant visas to the united states. And we stand ready and willing to do even more. It's the least we can do. Special immigrant visas. Look they're so wonderful then. Go let angela merkel get blessed by these people. We already have simultaneous immigration crises. Happening right now you know that we just had another two million people anywhere between one point. Six to two million people come illegally into the southern border. And what is governor. Larry hogan worried about not serving. His fellow countrymen not literacy rates of black americans in baltimore not the problems of crime and now we stand ready for another twenty thousand people that don't speak our language. Interpreters they do speak your language but not all of them do. I'm sure some of their kids might not. The question is why are leaders. Not putting the american people i. It's because they really don't like their voters they don't actually they have contempt for everyday. Americans people that own firearms the people that go to church. Get governor larry hogan like many others he would much rather try to change the country because it makes them feel good because governor larry does with the corporate class tells him to do

"A column written by a guy called Derek Thompson just yesterday, the whole truth about kids School and Cove in 19 subhead. We've known for months that young Children are less susceptible to serious infection and less likely to transmit the coronavirus. Let's act Like it. No kidding. They cite that federal officials at the CDC have been calling for Children returned to classrooms as quickly as possible, including in new reports this week that look at surveys from across the country and find that those places who have had the school's open. The incidents of transmission for Corona virus is very low relative to the rest of the community. Um, and that's of course, been an obvious point for well and well over a year now. All right, but sorry. Not well, over a year of almost the whole last year, of course, last year this about this time was when Corona virus was jumping into our shores arriving, saying hello. Uh, You know in our area, Beverly Montgomery County is now contemplating actually moving. It's school, re opening up a touch. Which I can't believe those words just came out of my mouth. But according to Fox, five, the superintendent and deputy superintendent of Montgomery County Public Schools are now looking at how to potentially answer Maryland Governor Larry Hogan's call. And reopen the schools by March, 1st they had originally Planned. To delay phased in in person instruction from February 1st until March, 15th. But now the superintendent and deputy superintendent of both indicated as of yesterday that they are looking at how they might start getting things reopened on March 1st with some students prioritized right away. So boy Montgomery County Seems to be slowly inching towards coming around getting our kids back to school. And good for I'm so thankful for the kids are the ones who have been suffering. The most through all of this. Here is the less than that. I hope we take from this, which is we have known for a long time that it is safe to send kids back to school. But yet the fight against teachers unions prevented Many government officials superintendents from opening their doors. Here is the reality when enough parents spoke up. Good enough news outlets started reporting data accurately when we finally said Hey, politician, Hey, School board President. We're not going to listen to you. And we're going to sue you. Potentially if you don't do this. Yes, all of us that in a cave. That is the lesson is is these politicians, these leaders They hold power over us when we let them. That's right. And then when you speak the truth, you gain some of that power back. And a bunch of people started speaking the truth parents.
