Mounting calls for VA governor to resign after blackface photo surfaces
Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam of Virginia is coming under fire for a photo that appears on his medical school yearbook page of two men in extremely racist costumes--one in KKK robes, the other as a "Sambo" figure in blackface. Northam denies that he is in the photo, says he was not aware that the photo was published on his page, having seen it for the first time on Friday, and suggests that it was placed there in error. Joy Reid and her guests discuss this developing story, the numerous calls for Northam to resign, and the fact that Northam is not stepping down. Plus: Rep. Ted Lieu calls for Northam to resign, after discussing the huge wins of Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats over Donald Trump in the realm of border security. And: Joy's legal experts break down the latest developments in the Robert Mueller investigation, debating who might next face indictment. All this and more in this Saturday's edition of AM JOY on MSNBC.
