Fentanyl Vaccine-Fentanyl intro and wrap

"Researchers at the university of Houston demonstrated a potential weapon in the fight against the nation's growing fentanyl crisis. Doctor Colin Hale's team is working on a vaccine. This in combination with president treatments will be a game changer. Hale says you get the vaccine. You develop antibodies against fentanyl. These antibodies bind to fentanyl if it is consumed and prevent it from getting into the brain where it may trigger euphoric centers or trigger respiratory depression and opioid overdose death. Texas governor Greg Abbott met with the researchers. Quite literally fentanyl is killing Texas. Abbott says the problem is not just in his state, its nationwide. Over the past year, about 1400 Texans lost their lives because of Fibonacci. Hale says current fentanyl treatments are not adequate, and we need a different strategy. I'm Ed Donahue

Texas Governor Declares Border Crisis an Invasion

"Also in this hour, I want to try to get to what's happening with governor Greg Abbott. He finally declared an invasion an invasion on the border and I'm so glad that he did Republicans seem to miss the boat. I don't want to say it's too little too late. He's doing what he what he needs to do. Right now, wish he had done it sooner, but it's obviously needed, especially given the fact that we have Katie Hobbs who literally oversaw her own election. Absolutely unbelievable to me, but we had a Republican governor that sat by and did absolutely nothing, knowing this lady was secretary of the state and overseeing her own election. So it is what it is. Arizonans are going to have to get fed up, but I strongly suspect that part of the reason Greg Abbott is going full bore and has declared this invasion at the southern border. It gives him plenty of powers, but that in particular is I think a reason. And obviously, Republicans didn't do as well.

The California governor Gavin Newsom has asked the Department of Justice to look into whether sending illegals to Martha's Vineyard constituted kidnapping or other federal crimes. He wrote a letter to Merrick Garland, Newsom asked Newsom asked whether actions by Texas governor Greg Abbott and Florida governor Ron DeSantis sending illegals to destinations like New York City, Washington, D.C., Chicago, and Martha's Vineyard were illegal. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, but the passive aggressive part of me is so happy right now. I am just smiling on the inside and I know we shouldn't be passive aggressive that that is really not the kindest of natures. But when I look at the headlines and I see what Florida governor Ron DeSantis and Texas governor Greg Abbott have done to the leftist hives on the east coast, it just makes me chuckle and laugh and catch a bit of a respite. It is a wonderful thing what they have done. And of course, I'm talking about Ron DeSantis sending off illegals, not busting them. Oh no, no, no, not in Florida. You get the best of treatment. Ron DeSantis has sent a couple of plain loads of illegal immigrants no, not to Washington, D.C.. Not to New York City. But to Martha's vineyard, the home of the elitist of the elite, I think even Oprah might be amongst the poor people on Martha's Vineyard. The obamas are there, and of course you've got Oprah and it is the oddest of all places to put them, but if it may be the best place of all to send a message for those that feel they are so wealthy, that they can be insulated from what you and I are having to see and deal with on a daily basis.

"Yes, we still have a huge problem on the election integrity front. And I refuse to give up on it. I think you've got Republicans in many states across the country, including Arizona and Pennsylvania and Michigan saying, we've done all these great things when it comes to election integrity and we get nothing. You know, I live in Texas, which is a red state. Our governor governor Greg Abbott is a decent guy, but he's no Ron DeSantis. And I got in an argument with a buddy of mine who lives in Florida. He says, oh, you got Abbott. We have desantis. Where this is great, great, great. I said, yeah, that's true. The only difference though between Texas and Florida right now is that Florida is red by the by the hair on a frogs. You know what, okay? Now, Texas at least has a few more years of solid red. We're not going blue anytime soon. Florida could turn blue tomorrow.

Chicago Mayor Lightfoot Questions the Religious Beliefs of Gov. Abbott

"Lesbian lightfoot out of Chicago is very upset with governor Greg Abbott. And she says that governor Abbott should be ashamed because he is now sending busloads of illegals to Chicagoland, and she's questioning the religious beliefs of Greg Abbott. Take a listen, cut syncs. The way that we welcome them is not what the governor of Texas is doing. It is absolutely un American. And I urge him. He professes to be a Christian. This is not the Christianity and the teachings of the Bible that I know. And I think religious leaders all across the country are standing up and denouncing exactly this. But what we mean it must do in this moment is make sure that we do live our values. And we open up every opportunity that we can to support these migrants. So wait a second now. So is it Christian to make the people in the Texas border town suffer? Is that what mayor lesbian lightfoot is suggesting here? Seems to me that if it's if the people along the border have to suffer, the good people of Chicago have to suffer.

"I'm a Martinez. In Texas an abortion ban and the school shooting Yuval day may have shifted the odds and the governor's race. Earlier this year pulls indicated that Republican governor Greg Abbott had an overwhelming lead over the Democrat in the race, former congressman beto o'rourke, but as NPR's weighed Goodwin reports, the Democrats chances may have improved. It's 103 in Dallas, as Linda ortman steps out her front door. The dog wants to come. What used to be considered one of the most right wing cities in the country has evolved into one that is deeply democratic. The political signs and ortman yard are no shocked these days. We have beto for Texas and Black Lives Matter, funky east Dallas Democrats and two mothers against Greg Abbott signs. Mothers against Greg Abbott, maga, get it, the signs were invented by an Austin mother, one of her children has a compromised immune system and in March of last year, when governor Greg Abbott eliminated the state's COVID mask requirements, Nancy Thompson got very angry. She went into a garage and got a piece of poster board. She was going to drive over to the capitol building and protest, but she needed to figure out what to write. And I was like, gosh, I'm so mad at Greg Abbott. I'm like a mother against drunk driving. I'm like mothers demand action. But I'm a mother against Greg Abbott, so I wrote down mothers against Greg Abbott. Thompson looked at it and laughed. Mothers against Greg Abbott, magga. And so I just went down there and I protested all by myself in front of the capitol for two and a half hours. I had somebody take my photograph and I made it public and it went viral. Now, mothers against Greg Abbott signs can be found in yards across the state, and with three months to go, the governor's contest has tightened. Abbott started the year up 17 points, but SMU political science professor Cal Wilson believes now the race is on. It's 6 or 7, maybe 8 point but Abbott is not sweating unduly at this point, but he is alert to danger on the horizon. So I think we've got a race for governor in Texas. Joelson believes there are several reasons why o'rourke has a chance. First, the statewide collapse of the electricity grid in February of 2021. Hundreds died and millions froze for days. Then, on the last day of their school year, 19 elementary students and two teachers were gunned down and Yuval, Texas, by a teenager using an AR-15 style rifle. Finally, there's been the near total ban on abortion that Abbott signed into law last year. In fact, Nancy Thompson's group decided to make a video about it. There's no easy way to say this, but your baby has a catastrophic brain abnormality. The ad starts with the doctor giving his pregnant patient devastating news on the wall behind the doctor is a small box with a smiling picture of Texas governor Greg Abbott on the front. I wish I could tell you what to do. But there is only one person who can make this choice. How much time do I have? And that person is Greg. Greg? Yeah, let me just give him a call. Hey, Greg, here's democratic governor candidate beto o'rourke. There is now because of Greg Abbott, a total ban on abortion with no exception for rape or incest. We are counting first time voters by the dozen at our events throughout this state. Young women overwhelmingly, in fact, who say, you know what? I was never political before. But unlike the Kansas primary election, the abortion issue is not on Texas's ballot in November. Without that, we'll democratic voters turn out in big numbers. Greg Abbott's campaign doesn't appear worried about beating beto o'rourke. The guy is ineffective. Showboating gas bag. Dave Kearney is a veteran campaign organizer and the general consultant for Texans for Greg Abbott. We see this is an 8 to ten point race. The undecided is so small. Both campaigns have raised astounding amounts of money over the last few months, beto o'rourke raised $27.7 million. That said a new Texas campaign funding record. But don't cry for governor Abbott, his campaign has over $45 million in the bank, just waiting to be spent, wade Goodwin, NPR news, Dallas. President Biden today visits with families in the mountain communities of eastern Kentucky, where flash flooding killed at least 37 people last month. Countless residents lost their homes and the damage estimates have climbed into the millions. From member station wuky, Karen Tsar reports. In the past 12 days, mother

DC & NYC Mayors Suddenly Unhappy About Illegal Aliens Coming In

"Muriel Bowser, who is the big time left wing mayor of Washington D.C. and a big proponent of sanctuary cities, along with Eric Adams, the left wing mayor of New York, who's also a big proponent of sanctuary cities. They're not thrilled these days because Texas governor Greg Abbott said, okay, you love the idea of illegal aliens coming into the United States? We've got a lot of them here in Texas. They're flowing across the border every single solitary day. They are simply doing terrible, terrible things to our infrastructure. I mean, I don't mean they're out there pulling up roads or such, but there's not enough infrastructure. There's not enough school teachers, not enough school buildings. I love healthcare. The rest of it. So Greg Abbott said, well, here's what we're going to do. We're going to send some of these folks your way. And so Texas governor Greg Abbott has been sending buses filled with illegal aliens to Washington, D.C., and to New York, and all of a sudden, all of a sudden these major proponents of sanctuary cities, these folks who are just thrilled with every goofy left wing policy there is, now they're saying, well, this is problematic. It's a real drain on our infrastructure. You don't say. Because I could have sworn governor Abbott said that. I could have sworn that there were mayors on the border who said that. But now it's happening in Washington D.C.. Now it's a crisis. But what does mural Bowser wants? Mural Bowser isn't saying, oh yeah, we ought to secure that border. Absolutely. I've reevaluated. No, no, no. She says, well, we just need more help from the federal government.

D.C. Mayor Bowser Calls for National Guard to Deal With Migrant Crisis

"Gotta give credit to governor Greg Abbott out of Texas also Doug ducey out of Arizona. You know, a couple of months ago, the governor said fine. Biden's not going to do anything, we're going to start loading up illegals onto buses, and we're going to send him to Washington, Washington, D.C.. So far, more than 4000 illegals have been dumped in the nation's capital, and this breaking news from the NBC station there in D.C., the mayor, muriel Bowser, another Democrat, she's calling up the National Guard, she's activating the National Guard to help with all of the illegals that are arriving in D.C.. She says it's a humanitarian crisis. And it's reached a tipping point. They're going to be using the D.C. armory as a processing center. You know what? I say, I say at this point, send even more buses. Maybe Abbott and doocy can call their fellow Republican governors and we can commandeer school buses, and we can just have caravans, just, I mean, just like trains, just sending thousands and thousands of illegals to Washington and then on to Delaware and then on to Pelosi's district in San Francisco. I think this is a brilliant strategy here. And by the way, Ron DeSantis, the governor of Florida. Do not be surprised about this guy. Don't be surprised by this guy. You know what's going to happen? Desantis is going to put out the National Guard on the Florida border and he's not going to let those buses through because that's been the whole point they're threatening to send all the illegals down to Miami. Desantis isn't going to play like that. That's fascinating story. We'll keep you updated on that. All

Greg Abbott Orders Texas State Police to Return Migrants to Border

"I love your show and never miss it. Thank you. I've heard you be critical of Texas for their PR stunt of busing illegals to Washington D.C. it seems that they are starting to listen. Texas is now authorizing its own state level law enforcement to immediately remove all illegal crossers and put them at the port of entry in Texas. Do you believe this is the right move? Or do you want them to do even more? Becky from Fredericksburg, Texas, first of all, I love Fredericksburg, Texas. It's great, and that is what is happening. Governor Greg Abbott empower state authorities to return migrants to border crossings, breaking in just the last day. Governor Greg Abbott on Thursday cleared state authorities to return migrants. They apprehended the border, setting up a potential clash of the federal government over the authority to enforce immigration law. Thank you. That's what we've been calling for on the show for quite some time. We're not taking credit for it. We've been one among several voices, but not enough, Tucker, Bannon and others. Immigration law enforcement is a federal responsibility to the Texas tribune rights. Abbott appears to be testing the limits of state authority by empowering state law enforcement National Guard troops under state deployment to bring migrants to port of entry, stopping short of using state resources to expel migrants from the country as immigration hawks have increasingly called for in recent months. I call for that, obviously, we should be sending the illegals the lawbreakers, the vigilantes, the line cutters, and the criminals, because those are all descriptions of the people that break illegally into the country and send them back to where they came from. Now look, I want to say something about, you know, some of the illegals that are here. You know, some people say, well, Charlie, a lot of the illegals are here and they just want a better life. And I've always found a difficulty with this argument because imagine knowing you're breaking the law and staying there. I don't have a soft spot for those people. Now, for some of the children, I might have a soft spot like the DACA kids, I don't support Amnesty by any means whatsoever I support removal, but I'm just talking about from a tonal perspective to there's people that say, well, Charlie, come on. These people want a better life. Yeah, a lot of people want a better life. But you're breaking the law every day that you are here.

Greg Abbott Orders Texas State Police to Return Migrants to Border

"Debbie and I were talking this morning about some interesting news. Well, a couple of separate items of news auto Texas. So let's talk about the first one. So Texas governor Greg Abbott now, I don't know why I can do this before, but he's ordered troops. The National Guard. That's about it for a good while. To deport illegal migrants. This is an example of the state taking action and I think I would recognize as it's called unprecedented action. But his point is, listen, there are laws. And the federal government is not doing its part. So you know what? Texas is going to step up. So I think it's a very good thing. It's a great thing. You know, this is very, this is a very bad thing. What these Democrats are doing, allowing these people to come in. It's very cruel for them, first of all, there have been so many of them that innocent people, mothers, children, whatever, die because of heat exposure, die because cartel kills them, whatever. It's very dangerous. It's human trafficking. Bar none, it is. It's done in hand in hand with the content. It is. And it's sanctioned by the Democrats and by Biden. So I think that what governor Abbott has done is an excellent way to deal with it. Now there's probably going to be some backlash. Well, the federal government is going to assert its authority and say, this is our job. This is a federalism issue. They always say that, but they don't do anything. They don't want to do anything

Who Is Scott Presler?

"Where did you come from, Scott? Well, I was born in Jacksonville, Florida to a retired navy captain. We moved up to Northern Virginia, and here's where I got my start because it all started with president Obama, the night that he was reelected, I created my Twitter account. And in part because I was mad at myself, Mike. Where was I registering voters? Where was I knocking on doors? Where was I getting out the vote? And the answer is that I hadn't been an active participant in our constitutional republic. So as opposed to me pointing the finger at other people blaming them for president Obama's reelection, I turned the thinker back at myself. And I started volunteering for the Republican Party. I fell in love with it. I felt like I was making a difference in my community. And I'm wearing cowboy boots right now because in honor of 2014, my first ever political job was helping to elect governor Greg Abbott and the great state of Texas. Then I knew with the passing of the late Antonin Scalia that the Supreme Court was up for grabs and I never wanted Hillary Clinton to be the deciding factor in appointing a Supreme Court Justice. So I spent two years of my life helping to defeat Hillary Clinton and I spent the last four years of my life traveling the country registering thousands of voters training tens of thousands of volunteers and cleaning up our cities. You see, because it was president Obama who inspired me, but it was president Trump who had me take a deeper look at our neglected and abandoned inner cities. And I started cleaning them up. We and just two years time have done cleanups in Atlanta, Austin Baltimore, Chicago, Denver decaying Detroit, Houston Kenosha, Los Angeles, Miami Milwaukee, Nashville, Portland, Pittsburgh, Philly. And I was even protested, Mike Gallagher, for picking up trash.

of this week's events the NRA's CEO Wayne Lapierre spoke to members once again kicking things off Once again against the backdrop of gun violence in America here he is These tragedies cause gut wretching unimaginable pain that too many are being forced to go through right now It's not right It should never happen again If we as a nation were capable of legislating evil out of the hearts and minds of criminals who commit these heinous acts we would have done it a long time ago He wrapped his speech by asking that police officers in the room stand up law enforcement officers they got a big round of applause He then followed that with firefighters they too got applause and then went through a long list of other occupations a lot of everyday jobs contractors to have plumbers or their plumbers Stay at home moms Until the whole place was up and what he called the heart of the nation who believe in the right to self defense Now as we've reported some have chosen not to speak at this meeting including the aforementioned governor Abbott he instead went to uvalde Although he sent a video that addressed gun laws and the massacre here he is There are thousands of laws on the books across the country that limit the owning or using a firearms Laws that have not stopped mad men from carrying out evil acts on innocent people in peaceful communities And you validate the gunman committed a felony under Texas law before he even pulled the trigger So you get a sense of the messaging coming from the exhibit hall in Houston though we just got a breaker on the terminal right now with Bloomberg reporting Governor Greg Abbott again in Yuval di not at the NRA convention says he is quote absolutely livid That he was given inaccurate information about details of the shooting Holding a news conference says he was misled A new wrinkle here In the story and we're going to walk you through some of the stuff we heard earlier from police and you follow the extended briefing that we brought to you live on Bloomberg radio It was during balance of power as a matter of fact and the timeline was stunning Back to Houston also not in the hall Texas senator John cornyn remember he said personal reasons kept him in D.C. this time couldn't make it some musicians including Don McLean have canceled But South Dakota governor Kristi Noem spoke told members now is not the time to cave to the woke agenda Ted Cruz is speaking We're waiting to hear from Donald Trump We also would love to hear from Joe Carroll who's in the middle of all this right now in Houston reporting for Bloomberg from the NRA convention The feeling must be energetic for the members knowing the former president is about to speak What's it like there Yeah it's a festive crowd down on the exhibit floor The estimate was about 80,000 people would show up It's a truly massive convention center The exhibit floor is vendors talking everything from silencers to American made AK-47s to switchblades There's gun raffles at every other booth The mood here is that they expect don't control activists to sort of capitalize on the Valdez They would say to push their agenda And so it's sort of a defensive defensive approach at this point So it is in the air though it's not like if you just were sort of parachuted into this convention would you know that a massive shooting took place a few hundred miles ago a couple days ago You'd know as soon as you spoke to somebody Like I said it's a festive crowd People have been signed up for this for a couple of years because the pandemic canceled the last two NLA conventions But as soon as you speak to people obviously you've all just the person that comes up Trump is the headliner here right You have a sense of what this crowd wants to hear I think they want to hear the president as a former president to defend this It's not a new position for him He's very popular with the NRA crowd He's addressed these events before And it would seem that they want to hear us sort of a stout defense of the Second Amendment again We got a sense of that from Christie nome Now is not the time to cave to the woke agenda.
