We just have to say, like, Tatum played way better than him and bullied him and made him look as bad as we've ever seen Durant in a playoff series. How does he come back from all that? What kind of player is he at this point in his career? Was in the O 7 draft. This is his, I think, is 16th season. Is he still a super duper star? Can he still be the best guy in a title team? You created this whole situation, Kevin Durant. It looks like Simmons is actually going to be able to play. I still have a serious serious concerns about him at a free throw line in the fourth quarter. Can he go 82 games? Is he going to all of a sudden disappear for ten games? But athletically, he looked good in the exhibition game. So we had that question to answer. And they have a lot of talent. And other than the bucks who are the most stable team and I think the Celtics maybe be our little sneakier than because they lost the coach and oh my God, but man, when you watch, I don't know if you saw the second quarter of the preseason game. They had bragged and out there were smart. They had Brown and Tatum and they in Horford and it was like a holy moment. Because brogden's like, Derek white would have good games and he would have bad games, right? And when Derek white was good, the Celtics looked really good in the playoffs. They'd be like, oh, and then he would be Derek white again. Brockton's just good all the time. And he knows where to go, and he knows the ball moves. He can create, he can beat guys off the dribble. And I was watching those 5 guys together for 5 minutes, and it was a holy crap moment. So I think Milwaukee in Boston and Philly, you know, whatever, but Durant can go toe to toe with all those teams. So that's the guy I'm watching this year. Who do you have? I think you can make the case for everybody that I just named on that list. The same is not dangerous. Except damn because his team's not good enough. Russ, because he's not good enough. Steph, because it's all his legacy is completely cemented all he can do is incrementally add to it. Yeah, but he could get 5 titles and that ties himself with Kobe and that, that puts himself into a legitimate player of his generation versus LeBron argument. All of them to get the 5 rings because LeBron's gonna be in the warriors in two years. LeBron, you can make a case for Chris Paul, you can make a case for time is running out. "Basketball reference is one of the great truth tellers of all time. First notice this when I was doing my book and I was trying to rank people and really going through the stats because in some cases you just had the stats and you had YouTube clips and that was it. But in general, when the points per game and the free throws start going down and you can look at somebody's career for ten, 12, however many years it is. And you just see that points per game art going down. Like it has with harden, it's usually a terrible red flag. Now you could say, oh, it's different situation, whatever. But he has kind of the perfect arc that like if you go look at Allen Iverson's basketball reference where it's like he's in the 30s and he's in the high 20s and then also it's done. That's the dramatic, clearly there's more going on there. This is a more old school somebody who's just not at the peak of his powers anymore. And you think of all the stuff they gave for him. I think they were expecting somebody who could at least be one of the best 7 players in the league for the next couple years. Now, if he goes to Philly and it's Simmons and a bunch of picks last year and he's with them bead. Is it a better version of hardeners at the same? How do you think it plays out alternate universe season Philly last year? I don't know, you got hurt, you know? He got hurt. So now he's automatically healthy in Philadelphia. That's a big assumption. Durant. But he didn't tear his ACL. He pulled his hammy. And what about like 8 months ago? No, so you're saying Hardin right now with Philadelphia? Like give me your version of it then I'm saying you're wrong but get me your philosophy on what it would be with embiid and why it might be different or a higher ceiling a harden because that's where I'm confused. I think Philly's all around team is better. And I think it's a better spot for harden, where there's no, oh, who should take it this time? "Dodgers. Last night became the second team in baseball to clinch a playoff spot. Unfortunately for the dodgers the first team to clinch is the team is ahead of them in division the giants. It's likely the giants and dodgers will finish with more wins than every other team yet. One of them is headed to a single elimination wildcard game. We'll bomb. Is this good for baseball. No tony not only. Is it bad for baseball. It's stupid for baseball. It's lazy and stubborn of baseball because you want to see these teams at least as late as they can play each other. Whatever round was set that up in this case the naturally championship series. If possible if they played to that so all you gotta do a seat it. that's all just seeded. I mean other sports do. This is not that hard. As a matter of fact there's always discussion for basketball about seeding the tire playoffs. So that you don't have to best teams playing in the second round. You don't want that. And so what baseball's doing here by possibly having the giants and dodgers face off we're not face off. Having one of those teams perhaps eliminate it. It's just dumb tony. It doesn't make any sense whatsoever. it's indefensible. Yeah so i don't think it is fair. I don't think it's fair that the team that comes in second in that division. That has a better record than twenty eight other teams in baseball. Yeah should face a single elimination. I don't think it's fair but the question is is a fair. The question is is a good for baseball. And i kinda think it is. I'm different than you. And i'll tell you why it's pretty rare only happens once every eight or ten years. What it will do is almost ensured that the giants and the dodgers will be playing as hard as they can all the way till at least the last weekend. If it's decided in the last weekend then it puts a tremendous amount of attention on that particular wildcard game and it puts a tremendous amount of pressure on either the giants of the dodgers who have to be in that particular wildcard game. It makes the baseball playoffs. More like the. Nfl playoffs would single elimination and to me. That's good for viewers and fans. I know you are steve producer. Eric ride home. "This is this is like a one and done her like. You're just beginning an iterative process. If you were telling someone. I maybe can guess what you'll say but if you're talking to someone who's just starting out you know i mean it's been a long time since you were just starting out. But what would what advice would you impart that movie. I would say you know. Look at looking at us as journey and it's definitely a marathon not a sprint and so you know i think sometimes that there's some advice in the debt free community and other places that it's like go harden you have to get it right the first time i am and you have to do it so quickly i will tell you. We've restarted are right budget more times than i can college and like he's not you know we have not were not perfect budgeters just because i work here and we've been doing this a long time by any means and you know. I think that's the big advice that gives them like. It's just a journey and you get better with it better at it with time and you get better at with practice and you have to align your money with your priorities. And he can't let anyone else tell you what your priorities should be. Or you're never gonna you're never gonna do it because it's not meaningful to you. If you could just take drive from your brand into someone else's what would it be. I think the. I think the big one is if you're the type of person who who wants your priorities with money to be like in stone you know to for you to see them and actually what your priorities are you know stick with wine ab because that's what it does for you. It's the only tool that clearly outlines your priorities with money. And there's no line you can't like you can't lie about it when you look at the previous month in. You settled all your debts. You know it shows you what your priorities were that month than and if you don't like what you're saying you know you can work in change them. It's letting you just find out what your priorities are and make sure that your money's lining up with them. Yeah i think and this is something i say in other situations so i don't know if it's specific to budgeting but it's like be really strict at the beginning with yourself and then you'll be able to loosen up later. Which sounds weird. I'm excited when we started budgeting we were in a terrible spot and so we. We were incredibly strict and we. May you know those sacrifices that we had to and then now that we're further along. We use rule three liberally to move things around all the time. As long as i think you've talked about this for as long as we're hitting the big things were free to move stuff around within the the lower priority ish categories all the time so we should be really clear when we're saying when we at not make a plea for you to reconcile that we want you to hit the reconcile button in your account register and when you do that wind up nounce.
