Y'All y'all just buckle you get a room you're fucking get it done. Good sex you got four. He's got he's got some good shit. Oh that was terribly appreciate it. They shot their budget on that. That Goro Muppet and the first movie put a Horse Body on this. Do I'll tell you they do. Look Kinda cool. They put the money on on some good practical effects in here. They definitely better looking than the green screen that they got. I did like the creature design like her arms. Look good like this. When he's not a green screen effect. He looks okay. The makeup is not bad in this man. And this guy just a little bit. I'm GonNa give you some Trivia but this guy right here forgot his name his name Zhao. He's an American gladiator. The guy that plays Jackson American gladiator two and they have a fight scene in this. I used to watch this show all the time. Yeah I couldn't tell you. I wish he was dressed like this in American history. Or I listen to this Oh Shit I can't remember but You know the other. You know those parts where you can laugh at those and even though there's no these characters you can get some kind of all right. Let's look they're monsters by each other and cousin each other out and they're going to fight but there's this part here where the you know the the weirdest parts where they do things where no one. No one who knows about the the game will get it and people and people who do know the game. They don't know what the city is. It just look cool in the game. "Like one of the engineers he said, hey, he can do this now and I plug it in. I know fhu gets. Razer because I'm not I know now, I tend do dynamic and emission and stuff like that. So with every future, they Anoc, you you if you scroll back in my Instagram you actually, see the progression. Like when this feature on knocked, I start animating when this was on you see a lot of like hair on immigration and stuff like that. So. It's been a while. Right. Because. It's funny than waiting for me to say this is a game changer. There's a psych our. That. Yeah. Because my nice at this point. It's a game changer that means really game changer because I've seen everything right? Like we've been there from the beginning. So I'm used to a lot of things. But if I'm still saying it's a game changer that means. But now. These I'm sorry. I just wanted to cut you off at you're doing these. You must be discovering new things like I wish I had this feature. Are you really going back and forth with them and going have this great new idea? What if we had this? I don't know how to make it. But you guys figured out. That's I think that's the most important job on doing. I think is to make this accessible to any professional creator to make it s intuitive as possible because I always look for moments. What can we improve because I use the controllers at work in it. And sometimes I get hung up on something. Right. And I'm like, what is this thing? And I repeat repeat repeat on we need a shortcut for this. Because if we have shortcut, then it will able others to do this. And that and yeah. A lot of workflow issues. And I think that's where Inigo comes from Pixar. Here's a five years veteran engineer Pixar, and he for example, handedly road like a system that creates terrains for good dinosaur. They all generated on a fight maps and stuff like that. So he's he's crazy Kim, Matt mathematician, and. So basically now I forgot what was they talking about. It was about me testing stuff. Oh, yeah. So she picks up. So he knows what's needed for that from engineering side. Right. And what kind of file formats kind of pipeline support we need. I come from the creative side. So I I know and visual development and not direction. So basically, I know all areas that are storyboarding as well. So I know what's important for those people. Right. So we can tailor it for production perfectly because we have both brains that experience both areas. So we're really focusing on streamlining everything and making everything as efficient as possible. And yes, so that's my biggest responsibility to make things work and come up with new features and stuff like that. What's your dream did Goro from where you're standing right now? You guys have talked about where could quilt go and more sharing it with students sharing. It with studios is your hope that quill will be adapted into a studio pipeline one of the major studios and be used in a feature will be used for animation will be used for previous. We'll be us. What are what are you? See it bead used for as it right now for you add to that girl. I wanna wanna tell the story when we were at twenty eighteen just this last year again, I just met you drag us over there to go get into your little room put on our goggles. You said something I'm never gonna forget. And you were so excited. He said, I believe that this the future for tutti animators is in VR that you the most. Most important people and artists and techniques that we need in VR. So I think this is leading into what Tony saying or his question anyway. But can you tell us more about why you would say something like that? Yeah. Absolutely. So you guys remember very well to digital wave. Right. And I feel like this is digital wave that brings traditional back, right? So here. Coming back. So this does this take one what's exciting to me about this? First question. Tony. The biggest dream, of course division..

"Out but fern artist to have the ability to to buy purchase with his wallet. But also be able to pull it out and to drawn it at any time. And Goro probably knows this unit even need all your fingers. You could hold that pit. So that little golf Pitso just fine. And drawn your sketch wallet. Just like gorens skinny color out. They they need to have a color called Gora green. And then your partner indigo well called him. He's already color. She's almost almost any not indigo. Okay. We go saying, Dan my yoke. So let's come back to you. That was awesome. Tony. Thanks. You have so much going on. Okay. So do you consider yourself can are you called a co founder of quill? Co-creator? I would I would accept that. Because he said developer, right. Any goes to one the mastermind behind it. But we also have engineering called Sebastian shrivel. He he basically implemented and animated system. So here's another power brain of hours. So I think as three we are night them leads, you know, and I drive to create a pod forward. And I get the word out by creating content. But I'm also doing a lot of other stuff like when we segue a little bit on what I do Facebook. It's like a lot of people saying I spent a whole day in VR and just creating continents. Not the case. It's usually the first two hours or three hours of my day. I start my day at five AM in the morning. So I get up four forty five ish. Right. I get to work around six o'clock and before everybody comes in. That's when I do all those enemies. Animated content. Right. It says my daily exercise, but it's also to find bugs and stuff find new ways. But also find box office to quality as has been right. So eye test to suffer inside out, and we discussed new features and stuff like that. But basically the first three hours a night. My my personal time where I just do. My initial piece for the day, sometimes I tended to render and post it in the evening because it takes awhile to render or something or I do a real time piece and just posted on the on the spot. But that's how I start my day because that's also part of my job to get the word out for quill said people know about it and then meeting start. So that's when we talk about features roadmaps and stuff like that. But I also like four last away SIS, which you guys have seen my experience premiered at CTN. That was an experience at created for exempt specifically for the Oculus quest headset, which is coming out this year. So that was like an exclusive preview, and that's an all in one headset. So. To to run Nyquil content. It's a little bit more challenging because it's mobile device. But you know, so I worked specifically I slip on that piece. To show what's possible with today's technology. And for example, LASSO is something I created in five days, right? Five fully dedicated days. And then I find a lot of new stuff that we want to implement and at the same time when we then shot the trailer, for example, then was running on the wall of at sit-in. I would direct a life action shoot. But I would also do the image final ING Tele grating and to sound as well. So I do a lot of marketing assets as well anything who related, you know. It's store graphics and stuff like that. So anything visual? I'm kind of involved and. I've done something into pass were we have now a UI designer. A lot of. Everything creative anything that has to do with a visual output. I'm involved with. And then I also do like interviews and stuff like that go on podcast with you guys and stuff like that. Right. So you travel ally travel give workshops smile Nyquil, workshops. I also give talks and go to schools give workshops industry professionals and stuff like that. So it's it's a lot of stuff. Right. So the VR part is really like in the morning and then today dependent on if we have a new animated feature that I need to test..

"When story studio shuttered stores in two thousand seventeen we decided dyke quill, Ken. Why you know, we have to do something about this and revisiting join forces because we call each other left brain and right brain quill on the right brain will and creative right now, creative and his technical. But we call each other actually think I'm the right brain of quilt with a little bit left brain and his friend of crew with a little bit of right brain. Because he's also an artist this. Well, he can paint and he can create art with numbers coats ARD. So he gives me credit. Also, hey, girl, you're actually fairly technical too. Because the understand my language someone right? So we have both brains a little bit, you know. And then we join forces and found in Yuba plays for quill at Facebook headquarters, and since then we hit the ground and started running employees flee. Up that much. How did you get it away? Oculus own. Did I assume because you created it while? While there. I got a story. You guys got here. Because there's something I know personally about a Goro. And I think it's about this time period. When I first met Goro in the Philippines. He had a bandage on his hand. And he and we're like, oh, man. I wonder what happened and e set about what was it three or four days before that? You've lost your finger. Tells us this this crazy story about what what really was probably the worst day of his life ended up to be one of the most life changing moments. Tell that story. Yeah..

"I just want you guys to know what you're getting into because I'm going to jump right and worked out where they were they concerned that like to are you going to feel like when a animate, and it's going to be hard for you to be a painter known. No, not at all. You got a one not no not at all. Because I think there were just like laughing at like how like how I brought up those irrelevant things. I didn't have a school. You know? I didn't go to school for this and stuff they? We're like totally. Also front with me about it. And they're like, hey, so you will be doing properties answer would be doing also colored if you're comfortable with it. And I'm like, hey, anything I'm gonna do. Right. And then in two thousand eight I made it came in August, August fourteenth was my first day, August fought fourth actually say, and then I stayed there for seven years. Well, let I love about that story to tell my students this all the time. And I'm sure you do too is that it doesn't really matter. What school you would to deceive manner? If you go to school, if you learn a line, if you're self taught like you Goral really at the end of the day, all the matters is what you could do. But you're full yo says your potential is. And that's what people react to the studios. And that's what they reacted to with you. They're like, dude this guy could do, you know, he's an animator can do all this great color stuff. He's a paid or at the end of the day. They're like, oh, yeah. We could use Goro we'll find places for you. And. Thankful you have this. They're gonna have a hard time slowing down. That's what this. That's what you're starting to hear. I think of this podcast is that girls. The kind of guy hugely prolific mean, I've never met anybody prolific as Goro to tell you the truth. And that that painting day story is just an example that but now he's doing quilts stations day and all this other stuff too. He's into everything, and he's just not afraid where did that come from gore? Where did that like just have no fear of technology jumping into do things and opportunities where come from for you? I think they're also thing that I did not like about me. And it was like always pushing my brother forward when we have guests and stuff, I didn't wanna talk because I was too shy. And I would always let my brother talk and stuff like that. And and then when I started school, and I became more independent where he was gone. He left to Japan and studied over there. I was always scared off presenting like if we enjoy I feel. Like in the school system. You end the US. You learn how to speak at an early age and Germany. That's that's not common. You don't just speak in front of people. You know, when you're a kid, but so I wasn't used to that stuff. But I wanted to be better presenting I knew that that's going to benefit me in the future. And when when me and my friends didn't like a short films and school, and we created some noise, and then little TV and TV channels would come to our school to interview us, and they would ask me. Hey, girl. Can you give an interview? And then one part of my brain is starting to no don't do it. But then I'm like, yes, I'm going to do it. You know? So it was a conscious decision. I'm going to say yes before my brain can even intervene, and then I get really scared. What if I mess up, whatever? And then I do it. And it's not that bad. And then I do it again. It's not that bad and. Stress became more of a friend where distress turned into excitement. So when I present now, I do get still like, I do get adrenaline. I start shaking and stuff. But it feels good. It's it's more. Like, it's like a rocket is about to launch..

That's the walk him at syntech walk them. We we they've given us a lot of great equipment recently. So that we could test it out like one one is the new sixteen inch walk them. It's their lowest price walk them. They've ev. Had for what is it about five? Fifty think it is or six fifty six fifty six fifty. It's excellent. It's an excellent piece of equipment, and I have a review that I'm posting. Hopefully by the time this comes out. It will have already come out. Not only I'm sure whack-a-mole have it on their page. But will also have it on my page. Antonio you've already posted a review of it. But we've also got thirty two inch cente- and with those the thirty two inches. We're going to make an animated short. It seems like we can never just up into each other at a Starbucks. Starbucks Burbank or anything, I'm usually somewhere. Foreign I've literally gone to conferences like in. Philippines, and Mexico and wick Sukur we've done speaking engagements together, and I always bump into but with us today is a big player over at Facebook in the in the world of VR really on the cutting edge of virtual reality software. You know, the guy that is a co creator of quill, and hopefully that's something that people have heard of. But you will be here about it tonight. We'll we'll try and work that in. I have to remind you guys. Wrapping up. Yes. Sponsors. Thanks for joining us at no joke. Right. I mean, I we've got to each other foreign territories more the we have on US. Territories. It's totally funny heads, it's strange, right? And it's far away to it's like Philippines, cutting the first time, we met was the Philippines that it was with our good buddy, armone Serano and puts on a thing of the Philippines icon Manila. Yeah. "The minute virtual reality this week. See this VR intermission called wired. Yes, it's a it's a it's not a VR film. But it was animated envy are using quill. I think this is one of the most interesting. Aspects of quill is that it is a VR tool. They got me expressly are only VR. Yes. That doesn't have just VR applications. Yeah. Yeah. So if you follow Goro one of the artists Facebook Oculus who works and create animations in in quill, you can watch them in the Facebook player sixty nine nations and the great, of course, there are a lot -tunities to watch innovations in VR, your Jelica in quill and a lot of the experiential sculptures. They do with a but to use that just to build your sets, the frame your scenes, and then the record it is a really concept. This is being reported as the first time at least one of the first times that quill has been used to make a feature length film with multiple scenes most animations that we see are just loops they're single scene with a loop. And it takes a long time to produce those because every frame has to be drawn traditional. Animation, but even with traditional animation. It takes a long time to make a single scene. So to spend the time to do a full feature length short is a serious commitment..

"Whereas gambit naturally restraints power in preserves life huge disadvantage in. This battle sub zero's fatalities. Let's talk about some of them. And also reminds you crystal I mentioned in my first point subzero doesn't exactly have to hit gambit with his ice gambit can touch the ice and be frozen and gambits main powers touching things. Oh, gosh. That sounded awful, but there's sub zero fatalities. All right. There's a snowball grenade. Subzero creates a small orb of ice launches at the opponent. It. Lodges when their chest and detonates causing them to explode from within almost like a charged gambit ball of ice. And in some times, he freezes the opponent first, and then launches the ice bomb, and it explodes inside him. There's the ice shatter that subzero does after freezing his opponent, whether they touch his ice clone touches barrier or if he summons ice down from the sky and hits gambit from above another way he hits people with ice. We already know from the ice master that gambit will be stopped in his tracks for a few seconds. But instead of monologue ING, subzero immediately uppercuts their upper body and shatters it one called frosty subzero can breed ice at his opponents covering their entire body is like dragon breath eo e range harder to harder to dodge. They fall backwards and shatter to pieces on the ground or he uppercuts the frozen. In body and sends it shattering two pieces flying through the air overhead ice smash this one doubles as a strength feats subzero grabs his opponent grill presses them over there. It was head like Andre the giant freezing the opponent just wild making contact with them, and then rips them into with his bare hands he's done this with big dudes like Goro and caught fast foods like cabal and reptile so gambits, leaner, athletic and lighter frame than Gouraud will be weightless to sub zero..

"But while they goro into like mushrooms will the concrete beyond mushar me that would be a bad idea but no there's lots of kinds of fungus kinda cool i hope that's true science i kinda want to go with that being science a recent comprehensive study finds of phases of the moon phases of the moon so like waxing give us we get all that are statistically significantly associated with the risk of a magnitude three or greater earthquakes that would have nothing to do with like the poll like the title i don't like that one i so suck at like moons to any time you have something like the moon or tides i always get it wrong i 'cause i'm like how would that work but oh they'll probably totally work that's the engineers present the first adam thick memory storage chip they're doing i like that one it's an atom thick okay whatever but i've seen things were like things are written on you know in dna i've seat which is smaller will know how many it's not smaller than adam smaller them so uh i have seen the boy and his adam which was a really cool ibm movie were they use like individual i think there were hydrogen atoms and they were able to like animate the mice by moving them around and doing like an electron microsoft like movie like stop at admission movie and so and then of cinch i dunno i just feel like they're improving in improving tiny storage so although maybe you guys are going to be like carrier being ridiculous and adam is way too small like it's got to be the size of a whatever molecule at least this one seems like it's on the right track so i'm gonna go with the moon thing because it sounds like something like a hippie fortune teller would say up.
