And there without their fourth option. And Gordo. You know, Gordo could give you 20 points a game on just about any team out there. Who? Gordon Hayward? Yeah, over that tight with him on these Gordo. Well, I I've been ripping him for, like, three years now. So it's about time I curious. Do you think? That you, Khun, destroy someone for years and years and years and then suddenly act like you're doing them a favour and then be like, Yeah, my man. Gordo. No. You know, I call them Gordo when he was horrible. Anyway, he wasn't exactly He's horribly just wasn't worth the money when they sign them that I'm in a mood to give you a lot of credit for. You know what it is? I sat around today. You know, I just moved into this new house. I'm working on this studio. Okay. You was thinking to myself ever since you got partnered with bigger I know Well, I mean, I did rearing horse. But here's the thing. I'm kidding. Here's the thing is I was sitting on and I was so excited because I I'm not a gamble. I don't gamble. I don't bet on games. It's not. It's part. You know, I worked and I cover college team and also I'm just not very good, and I could sit here and pick games. But it's It's like a golfer. When every on the driving range. You're great on the range, but to put you out on the course and suddenly you're swinging out of your boots. You can't You can't hit a green so that that's me when it comes to gambling games, But if you throw some real money on it, I'm in big trouble. So that's when I was sitting today. I was thinking about you think about this show tonight and I was looking at the over under is in preparing for the NFC in the NFC South. And then I retraced our steps last first week, the first week we did this. We talked about the FC in the NFC East and maybe you're getting in my head a little bit. Maybe I'm starting to realize how all it takes is a dude dancing at camp for people to try to think that Cam Newton is going to be fine this year. Oh, my gosh. Boston Fair eyes dancing. Can't man. It's a whole new world. You see a moving around. He's great camps. The man he's going to be an M V P Sorry, Bobbo if I yelled, but I I saw this over under and I thought to myself, Let's get rich because Arnie Spanier Even if you are a covert operative who says good or bad things about the Patriots to try to make good things happen. 9.5 ridiculous over under. They have no weapons whatsoever. So I saw that Saudi Michelle got off the pup was, but the confidence level would have not very I know they picked up Lamar Miller, who may not even make the team wide receivers the cat again to kill Harry. This guy's done squat. Yeah, Adelman's there, but he's not gonna have the year that he Had the last couple of years. There are big, big trouble gets what their defense is not as great as everybody made about the B Last year, there were big trouble and how many guys have they had opt out right now? You know against Gilmore still played with eight guys, and I think it's around. And by the way, it's one of the toughest schedules in football, too. Yeah. Oh, I mean, what? I was trying to look up everything before actually made. I was trying to actually make a Assailant point without having to dig through the play the chief's division, so so you play the FC West. I mean that there's a very good chance you could lose three of those four. Do you think I mean may maybe all four and you play the Raiders pretty early. You got two quarterbacks that have? No, um, snaps with their current team Instead. A man can Newton while still stood him at one throw, and it was returned for a touchdown. So 9.5. I think you get rich on the under here was one that I saw that I thought the over Might be kind of enticing, and I'm not just saying this because they're your team. But six for the dolphin suddenly has got me wanting to take a chance. There suddenly has me want to take a chance. And here's why, As you mentioned, they do cross they do cross with the F C West. So you have a road game in Denver. But what's it really gonna matter? If there's no fans? They're right. But then I started digging a little bit more. I know you're going to New England with an uncertain quarterback situation. You go to Jacksonville. You could start to on one on DH. Then at that point, you've just gotta win four of your next. What is that 13 games and there's two with the Jets. You know you the Bangles are on that list. There's three. I don't know, Warning. I'm maybe starting to buy into that number being over six for your dolphins Right now, That really has me kind of Ah, kind of itching for a winner. Only thing that has me worried is who's going to be. The quarterback is going to be Fitzpatrick because he's going to be the starter. It seems like Or is it going to be to who you know? They want to get in a cz quickly as they can, so I don't know what's going to happen there. Otherwise it is. Ah, hard. Copies are hard the schedule like I said, But the division Not very hard it on just going to come down between Buffalo in Miami because the Patriots are going to be a last place team this year. I think so, too. You've sold me on that. It only took three weeks of you pounded in my head. And can I throw one more under Al? Yeah. The Packers at nine. Whoa, Listen, hear me out. This has nothing to do with out Jordan. Love is doing in practice Nothing at all unless they didn't bring him in to be the start of this year or even next year, So if he's batted practice, I don't care. But you could ask the question. Boy. If he's this bad, why didn't you go get receiver helping the driver? Why didn't you take just in Jefferson and I'm not stop my head. I don't know if he was available there, but bottom line. Why don't you go get your receiver, so I started to think a little bit more started to dig into the Packers schedule. I thought to myself, you know, that's a division, so where and again we're going over under 99 and seven right? Think the Bear's going to be better. According to Matt, and they're going to the Super Bowl. Dish s slow down on that pump the brakes. You've got to play the NFC South. So you've got games in New Orleans. You've got a game in Tampa. Your crossing with the FC South, which again we can all talk about boring, but we think that the Colts and Titans are pretty good. And then you've got to play the first place team, so I don't know..
Santa Carolina Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 Review
"This. Is Dave cheap wine fighter dot. com. Another one. Another day. Wants from Moscow again, and it's a crazy cheap price for. Really Nice one. Let me grab the bottle so I get the name, right? Santa Carolina. Reserva? Cabinet sobbing young from Chicago States in Jakarta Valley in Chile. And, the vintages twenty eight. And it's a really really Nice Cabernet. Chilean cabinet China for me splits the difference between Bordeaux and. California has got the good right fruit of California. And its sleek and lean like Gordo and you put them together. Good. And this is a seven. Forty nine set wine. I wasn't the Internet and it's it's not an expensive wine anywhere, but it's ten to thirteen dollars elsewhere. Seven fifty for cloudy Capita Sauvignon is really crazy. Because Cabernet Sauvignon, a wine that you expect. Good. Barrel slavery. Now I don't think this one had any oak barrels. There are other ways to get the oak flavoring in. They I think they said in the tasting Meltzer had contact with. And contact with. Isn't necessarily hope bureau? But whatever they did it works it tastes really really. Really Drinks. Baba's price tag. I'm going to take a separate now. This is. No issues really good tasting very well made. Cabernet Sauvignon it's sleek. It's leaning tasty. Got A great. No the Scott got kind of a little bit of a complicated Flavor profile it's not. It's not like the hugely expensive one where there's layers but the applications. And Yeah I mean Santa Carolina. Has Been Around for one hundred, forty, five years. They know what they're doing and they were one of the video wineries it got destroyed in that two, thousand, ten earthquake. I don't recall that in Chile and they had to rebuild and they did by twenty twelve. And they took the time to invigorate wiring everything else I think last year they were delaying winery the year. So you know from the. From the ashes comes, Victorino. Deals. Another SIP. Tastes grape does not tastes like a seven fifty one again. You. Expect a certain amount of flavoring and improper. Cabernet Sauvignon. We read plans and stuff. You know that's that's open to interpretation but Cabernet. People expect a very specific thing. This delivers. And that's really nice and it's got good grades estate vineyards. They have many states from two states. And expensive winds. Estate Vineyards. Means exclusive. This just means that they had control the grapes. which is a good thing because year after year they're working with those grapes they know. What to do in good years bad years great years anything else they have experienced. So. This is a really good wine The NAME ONE MORE TIME FROM COSCO Senate Carolina's. Valley. Reserve a Cabernet Sauvignon twenty eight, hundred eighteen. I, read that James Suckling, who is the premier wine? Critic right now Robert. Parker junior is a retired nowadays, he was the king for years and. James ducklings take over that role. He gave the white ninety three points I mean. Supposedly. That's what they said on the on websites. I. Didn't actually hear it for him. Ninety three points for seven dollars ninety nine cents Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile. Is Crazy. Good. So there you go. I liked it tastes great. It just drinks well above its price tag if you like, Cabernet you WANNA everyday why it's hard to beat this one.
Inside the World of Niche Facebook Culinary Groups
"Talking about strange culinary facebook groups there's a bunch of facebook groups in niche culinary areas. How did you find about this? Why did you join some of these groups? And what are they talking about? So it's I think the important thing to think about the Internet and a niche community is they've always been there there have always been nerds with particular interests. That are not served by mainstream media. Who are looking for a way to talk with each other. And kind of create their own forms of cultural production A friend of mine who is a member of the cooking with Klay? Facebook group founded by Steve? Sando the The founder of Rancho Gordo was sharing some post with me about how enthusiastic members were about sharing where pottery was from the kind of raw enthusiasm. That was there was was was so refreshing and inspiring and just kind of delightful and then what facebook is very good at is recommending additional groups for you to join once you join anything and so really you can use that facebook search bar to explore whatever interest you have just by typing things in and seeing where the rabbit hole leads you. So let's let's go through some of these specifically the rude rebellious KANTER'S. We're talking about walking on the wild side of home canning. So these are. These are some of my favorite people on the Internet because there are many home canning groups out there with people asking for general canning advice and sharing some more complicated recipes. The root of rebellious KANTER's group emerged. Because a couple of people were tired of posting their canned recipes and commenters leaving judgmental notes. About how they were going to poison their families with botulism that these are people who've been canning for generations. They're doing things exactly the way their their parents taught them so they wanted to create a safe space for them to talk about Canning Food and the act of putting up food in a way that that was genuine to them without having to deal with the skulls of the more mainstream cannon community and something that's really interesting to me about these groups you never see sharing articles or links around the web pertaining to their interest. It's always it's always pure user generated content and to me. That's US something really powerful about how these people want to do something their own way because their needs aren't being met by other sources let's move onto aspects with threatening auras which. I think has got to be the best name. Facebook GROUP OF ALL TIME. You've been on that site What's the concept here? I think I haven't done the the exact chronology here but I believe aspects with threatening Auras is one of the offshoots of the vastly more popular. Show me your aspects group which is a more earnest Jello and savory aspic appreciation foreign which now has something like twenty thousand members. I think the Guardian just did a feature on them. And that's that's one where you see people sharing all types of Jell O.'s. And jellies and spanking videos or kind of a norm where people take slow motion videos of spanking their jello. But this is the Internet and the Internet is all about niche. Specialty is and a lot of the Internet is about gross out humor and I think what? What's what's so great about Jello mold and aspects as a concept is that they provide this kind of Uncanny valley experience for food where it's definitely recognizable as something that we eat. But it also feels very other in that hyper processed sort of nineteen fifty s culinary revolution or Nadiri depending on how you want to look at it. And then you have all of these genuinely Ernest People. Creating things like fetuses womb and sharing them earnestly is like. Oh look at this thing that I made for my gender reveal party without any sense of how Harpole or upsetting the people and so the to have a have a place of like minded people who A. Understand the historical context around around Jello and aspect based foods be who delight in seeing these formats transgressed. And it's a group of of really of really funny people at the border of titillating and slightly upsetting so I mean the digital world is really good at going back to old food ways and recipes and techniques and bringing back some of the best things from the past using technology that's the future and yet and then combining them with With new kinds of technology for instance in Thailand a few years ago the rolled ice cream where they were. They had that ice cream base on the nitrogen called anti griddle. And then you've created into to a sheet and rolled up like that was a the presence of those shops everywhere in the. Us Now is a direct consequence of communities on facebook and Youtube and other social platforms sharing videos of that from Thailand at the source. So this isn't just preserving old traditions. But it's also creating brand new

"I'm not gonna try. We're going to call him that he was fighting against drug Gordo. Who's this insanely dirty Cape boxer? And so, you know, there's a wait mismatch of like one hundred fifty or two hundred pounds thrill even striking watching video of it. And he's this to lease. This giant sumo wrestler? They meet in the ring, and they go to the center to the only thing he really knows how to do is to bummer Russia, and you know, with his head down his head leading the way, which is very bad of their whole move. This kind of kind of what you do very incompatible move because Gordo just winds up and just kicks the unholy shut out of his face so hard that a couple of these teeth come flying out one of them. According to a couple of things I read gets implanted in Gordo's foot. Yeah. Yeah. The thing is they still have a couple more fights to go in that night. So they're like, okay. Well, what do you want to do in the doctor's like if we take this tooth out of your foot blood's to go everywhere? And you're not going to be able to fight. So they decide to leave the tooth in and just wrap it up. So he fought two more fights that night with someone else's tooth in his foot. You gotta wrap it up, otherwise, violates the if he kicked someone it would violate the rule against biting, right? But that the Gordo guy you said he was incredibly dirty and then that same one where he in the in the finals he faced off against what Heus Gracie and he bit him bit his ear. So. And then you said like to get back to when he when Heus gracing Taft amount. He kept him in that fucking hold like five or ten seconds longer than you should of the tap like at least fifteen times in that video. He's just like God Jesus. Stop. And even the announces are like it's over. I don't know what he's doing. It's it's over. But the fact that there's like a sense of like like those are the rules. No, I out djing and. Nope. Fighting or whatever. But fundamentally you're going to not do those rules when you panic like that's like, the the most interesting thing to me or like remember like Tyson Holyfield, and it was just like, oh, you saw him losing, and he panicked and just like this. You know, animal part of your brain turns on and all the sudden, you forget that you're playing a sport. And you only remember there's someone attacking you. So. Yeah, you end up biting says some point. Oh, yeah. Absolutely. I had I had a bunch of things I wish like we. I mean, you know, I'm a great writer. I need. Sixteen hours to tell the story. But no, I I mean, I saw some comments about, you know, why didn't you talk more about MacGregor's or like Conor McGregor has more vote like race baiting style trash-talk? Yeah. I wanted to talk. It just like just simply wasn't time. For a lot of stuff. I wanted to talk about Chechnya law Checchi MMA and have time for that. Like, we have a we have a section about could even Connor. But it just you know, literally that if we got into everything we wanted to get in with even Connor it's like probably know twenty five minutes. There's a one point he calls them. Connor calls could be father a terrorist rat pretty cool. Yeah. I wanted to talk about affliction a lot and affliction was same company is the t shirts. Yeah. Yeah. And they were they were this sort of talk about the affliction of mental illness. I just wanted to raise awareness shirts. But they started an MMA promotion. There's Thomasson CO did it to compete with the US's because they had a falling out with Dana white or some weird shirt money bullshit. "It's the most popular form of gambling would in spain it's pretty obvious why people play vis lottery it's a social thing to do you buy a ticket because the housewife's association bull pester you until you do it you buy tickets because your friends or buy tickets you buy because you don't want to be that one guy in town who doesn't win you don't want to be coasties the housewives association continues to choose a number each year for the christmas lottery and sell tickets and said at the and in the surrounding little towns and while they used to knock on doors for months they don't have to do that anymore now the people come to them and ticket sell out in a few days they were lucky once and they could be again people say and no one wants to be left out representatives who was produces we bear bersinger producer katie mingle mix in tech production by sharif yusef digital director is critical said thrust of the team includes delaney hall every trophy and evidence gerald teheran maza an me roman moore's find out more about coasties his movie which he's working on with his film partner laura sorensen at cuando toko dot com with rolling on our website because i am not can us both for for you there check out some beautiful animation's of this story by benjamin store music in this episode was composed by he conley trees john new fell in a query they were part of the team that also scored the genie chance story and toward live with us they are the best we had additional songs composed by her own sean ria carmen vidal did the english voiceover from where he carmen special thanks to roberto garvia anzac frolic.

"No letter goliath evening otherwise the now it's still hasn't come out in theaters are anything yet the people here in the relex are waiting light but savoye gave you money requirement isn't the only one to mention this to me it actually seems to be the talk of the town a little later that day a run into a group of older guys when i tell them i met with coasties one of them says the one who made the movie but he hasn't even come out with it yet i tell him i think it'll be another year before the film is finished and he says but it's already been five another guy times in and says zero go she through coast is didn't win the lottery but he's done quite well for himself he says he's beginning paid for all the television interviews he's done then they talk about how much has been getting paid neutral either accurate don't for the record kostas told me he's never been paid for any interviews conspiracy theories aside i got the feeling the people in so that dole liked coast it's the strange greek artist who lives on the outskirts of town but i also wondered if they see him as an outsider and if the lottery is made this even more pronounced when asked marie carmen about this she says no he's one of us we just wish he'd come out with that movie economists have long struggled to figure out why people play the lottery it's not a rational investment of your money the odds of winning art terrible worse than blackjack worse than slot it's worse odds than any other form of gambling and yet.

"When i ask kosice if he felt or still feels any regret or jealousy about not having a ticket he laughs lake it's a ridiculous question little from frink for a while after so that those win reporters swarmed the little town they especially wanted to talk with coasties the one unlucky guy who was left out of the lottery but costa says int feel unlucky in fact if anything he feels like he got something that day to he's a filmmaker and the day the town won the lottery he grabbed his camera and went to the plaza the woman brother and his was retrieved lurks worry was given miers krypton hunts he filmed the celebrating and he's been filming ever since he says it's been really interesting to see what happens when a whole town gets wealth all at once the whole thing is lurking for social who experiment to refer really first results to study and see what an event like this can do to people is not always for good costa thinks the people and so that the become a little more insular since the win more focused on the nuclear family and less on the town as a community you do see how affecting how the have change how the have closed before that all the doors were constantly opal the way he talks about it makes me wonder if the people in the town will like the film when they see it the coasties says he thinks they will mostly may be a few more things they might not like it but the realty.

"People began syndicate plane or plane and groups and the lottery became more popular than ever some people in the same neighborhood our our family or schranz they would buy one ticket by putting together their money new the christmas lottery works like this there are a hundred thousand possible numbers ranging from zero to ninety nine thousand nine hundred ninety nine when you go the lottery office they'll tell you what numbers are available in your area and you pick one but it's really expensive to own an entire number tens of thousands of euros would is much more common is that an organization will bars share of a number and then salov even smaller shares to individuals euro shares were too euro shares thousands of people may own small fractions of the same number the smaller the show you have on the list you get of the total chuck todd if you're number should win and one of the things that this is done is to turn this christmas lottery into a huge social event local organisations sell tickets at a markup for fundraisers so you're soccer team might be selling shares of a number the school your kids go to may be selling shares of a different number most spaniards have a stack of tickets all different tiny shares of different numbers that they've been talked into buying by some one the numbers go on sale in the summer and then on december twenty second all of spain tunes in to watch the drawing every years being done the same way the same theater in madrid.

"The christmas lottery is also the oldest running robbery in spain and one of the oldest in the world the drawing has happened every single year since eighteen twelve was includes the years of the spanish civil war and all the way through the franco dictatorship for better whereas lotteries have long been considered a useful way for governments to raise funds for things like infrastructure projects and public programs colonial america was basically bill using lottery revenue but in the early 1800s opposition to the idea of lotteries was growing all over the world especially in europe lotteries were and still armed by the way thought to be a regressive tax on the poor churches found love replay to be blasphemous and superstitious and intellectuals like karl marx but the public lotteries were a sinister instrument of the capitalist state designed to convince the proletariat that there was an easy way to escape poverty in eighteen 26 th the british outright banned the lottery for nearly a hundred years and in eighteen 62 spain responded to the opposition as well i redesigning their national lottery so that it wouldn't take as much money from the poor they decided to make the if it's very expensive and what what the rationale wars that if these are an affordable for people worn by then bear blerta staple light she's an economist a york university in toronto who has studied spain's christmas lottery she says the spanish government figured that if they set the price of lottery tickets really high only rich people would buy them but that's not how it worked out what happen is a fatal people are not buying lottery anymore they decided to turn to their networks and stara syndicate play.
