"What of the great postgame moments in the history of sports broadcasting? That was trade deals? Even better? The videos even better. It is tremendous man. Now there is a backstory to this and that Castano's Last month was suspended. And find for with the major league baseball called aggressive actions and for instigating a benches clearing incident. It's the ST Louis Cardinals. The suspension was upheld by Major League Baseball. So you can kind of connect the dots on that Castillo knows Using a fan. This is very savvy. Using a fan to cast some aspersions. He can't get fined for this because he didn't say it. He handed the headset to a fan that's on him. He did it. That is very smart. It was genius in the moment, some of the best radio TV I've ever seen, and I just loved the reaction from the crew because they were nervous going into it. And then when he said Rob Manfred's name, you could just hear producers saying Cut now go back to baseball. We don't need this problem. Could you imagine? Go to any other sport. Look, I know this was a joke from Castano's and the fan, and they seem to be some saltiness to it. Imagine something like that happening in the NFL with Goodell even as poorly as this has gone, and in many respects with Goodell the past What is it? Things were getting better with him. But The MBA with silver. Like, Think about what Just happened here. A player in Major League Baseball handed the headset to a fan to make sure the fans said That they don't like the commissioner. Essentially, like, imagine that you wanted to pound this thing and the next pitch, he lit it up over the fence, baby. It's not a good look. Not a good look at all. It seems like Rob Manfred has commanded the respect of all of the employees. Major League Baseball has done a great job. Of guiding that ship. "And Rob Man for his face was on the baseball and the next pitch. He lit it up over the fence, baby. That was the fan audio courtesy. I believe off Bali, Sports Valley Sports. Okay, so After you there. What? What the hell transpired there that they brought a fan in You would think these stations are so nervous at any time to put someone on they gotta have their hand on the dump button. That's when it's an athlete because you could tell the announcer to before the defense. Start talking. Let the fans know that he was live on TV, so I gave him the heads up, You know, watch himself. It's not. It's not every day you get not only the player, but a fan bashing the commissioner Now. What was he so upset about the commissioner? Everybody? Just a front man for it. Well, okay. I understand that. And you know the players in the NFL? Well, they love Roger Goodell. When they when they get drafted, they love hugging Roger Goodell. I was there, up close and personal seen all these All these players love Roger Goodell. And then I saw all these fans taking pictures with Roger Goodell in Cleveland. And so then I wonder when they boo Roger Goodell or when they say they hate these commissioners. Do they really? Or will they be the first to snap a picture with these commissioners? If so, given the chance? There are again a lot of okay, but it just people in general, A lot of people are phony is like you know they're willing to talk a big game. But then when they actually come face to face with that person, then there's the tone changes. Are you saying that I'm being a phony when I rip on Jim Gray and say he had no business yesterday with all those luminaries? At the Hall of Fame. Are you saying the first chance I get to take a picture with Jim Gray and get chance to hug it out? If if Jim Gray approached you in the future said Hey, man! Hey, Anthony. What's up, man? How you doing? They tried to have a conversation with you. You're going to converse with them. We just get you gonna blow him off. Can you help my career? I guess that that might be at stake as well. All right, well, Jim Gray's Inn I still have another 50 years to try to get in.

Inside The Russell Wilson-Seahawks Rift
"Years russell. Wilson has been wanting to throw the ball more and at the start of this year. It finally happened russell. Wilson was not good in the first half of the twenty twenty season. He was excellent deep cap touchdown. Seattle you run down there and set in his answer. Any better than that was fourth in yards per attempt. Weeks one through nine i. In passing. touchdown percentage was second in passer rating. Wilson keeps as default talk. He was legit. The best player in the league madden gave him a ninety nine overall rating during the season because he was cooking notion as he throws an accident. Edi feeds defensive player of the years like russell. Lula's legitimately the best guy in football games of the season then week nine arrived and they had this game against the buffalo bills that you recently wrote about. Can you tell us what happened in that game. And afterwards what happened is russell had to cook in the kitchen. Just kind of just caught on. Fire his paycheck wine with a sack at a takeaway from russell wilson. I actually watched that game with a former cr defensive and cliff april and teased talking me through it. And he's like russ's off he's trying to do too much and i think turned it over like four times. He threw a pick on the goal. Line throws for the jordan with tyco. I think that really turned the tables for the whole team. After that loss where they gave up forty four points and turned it over a bazillion times and got embarrassed in buffalo. Well what i would tell you that. I don't recognize that game. We haven't seen the look like that and it's a game that i don't have any place in my brain for. He told us he didn't even have any space in his brain for that game. That's very important subjects right like the fact that he considered that not seahawks. Football was influential the rest of the year. Well the following week against the rams things. I guess only got worse. Wilson throws and the other one four darius williams second game. I know that there are better days ahead. I'll use a baseball now but sometimes you go up to the plate you know and you don't have your way today mike. You and our colleagues. Mike sando jason jank's wrote about a meeting. That happened shortly after that loss to the rams can you take us inside that meeting room and just explain what went down russia's meeting with the coaches normal game planning type of meeting and he has suggestions he is giving input usually does and his suggestions just weren't dismissed. There were dismissed in a way that russell didn't feel appreciate it. And i think that is really important. I'm sure they disagree in every meeting ever but in this particular instance rust belt that he was not being appreciated so rushed stormed out was basically this idea that. How dare anyone in this building. Be dismissive of my ideas. I am of the quarterback was almost like kevin durant warriors when he was like no way up. I'm kevin durant russell wilson and he rustled perceives him to be someone who has succeeded. In spite of what's been around him not because of running for his life making the pro bowl with battle lines perceive that to be like the story of his career. And you get to week eleven. And it's like do. Just chill out. We got this no. You don't don't get it. I got it and that forced him out the door. Russell in the second half of the season was which is not himself like he was twenty eighth in yards per attempt in his final eight games he was sixteenth. In a touchdown percentage nineteenth in passer rating. These are bad numbers. These are not just like below average twenty nine yards per attempt man that was lower than the cincinnati bengals. Even when the circumstances are bad around russell he's been good enough to elevate situation still played inefficient level and twenty twenty was the first time it was like. Wow he's not able to elevate the lack of talent or execution of preparation around him and it produced like some of the worst numbers of his career certainly produced the worst playoff game of his career against the rams in the wild round sitting meeting big. Who's going into other sack four sacks two takeaways the interception return for the touchdown and floyd now all right. Let's fast forward a few weeks to the super bowl. The seahawks have been knocked out by the rams in the wildcard round and russell. Wilson is at super bowl. Fifty five in tampa bay sitting with none other than commissioner. Roger goodell mike. Tell us what you found in your reporting about russell. Wilson's experience at the super bowl. You know it's really interesting. Because i tweeted during the super bowl. That antonio brown caught a touchdown from tom brady in front of russell. Wilson there is the pass for the touchdown. What drive a super bowl. Winning drive that brady's only done throughout his whole career. I kind of just said it like star cast the as a joke. Not really thinking about how russell fell and then as our reporting i was like okay so i i was right like he is really upset. And it's so many factors. There is the fact that tom brady is in. The super bowl is the fact tom. Brady's they're playing pine. A good line is the fact that tom brady is playing in a system. That gives him some atonomy like got to pick players gronk. Antonio brown is the fact that mahomes is there again laying for again in a system that like essentially like his talents. The last time also played in the super bowl loss of tom brady seven years later prime many years. Tom brady's back. I suppose in a soup. Kitchen fuming so during the superbowl. He's texting his quarterback coach. And just close. Friend jake heaps. He's a local radio guy. Here jake to set it on the radio. He's talking about how russ was missed during the game texting him. They'll look the he had was in reflective of the text messages. I was receiving russell wilson. Just ultimately the overall sentiment was that he was mad that he was not lying in this thing and then russell spoke to the shortly after the game show. What's up with our line. You see that. Winning requires a good line and the gist of peace response. As far as i was told is about faith. And just you know we got this. And that just wasn't good enough for us
Cases of Flu Are Down Globally
"Job. Maybe next time you're here you can present. That would be getting green jobs. So i'm just asking when that happened. Richard trumka who is a friend longtime friend of joe biden says about that day one eastone. He says i wish he. The president has paired that. Were carefully with the thing that he did. second by saying. Here's where we are creating jobs. So there's partial evidence from richard trumka. Well you didn't include all of his interview. Would you like to include. How about this. The international union of north america said the keystone decision will cost one thousand existing union jobs and ten thousand projected construction jobs. Well what mr trump. Also indicated in the same interview was that president biden has proposed a climate plan with transformative investments and infrastructure and laid out a plan that will not only create millions of good union jobs but also helped tackle the climate crisis. That guy was peter doocy from fox news and i always hate his questions because he takes four ever to get to the point he just beats around the bush because his conscience is fighting him the whole time and at least that's what it seems like. It's like that tiny little part of them that still has morals and ethics is trying to tell him. He's being deceiving and a bad journalist. But pete here just wants at fox news money one of the more unexpected biden policies. I would say. Just because. I never thought he would actually do. It is that he announced on friday. That trump wouldn't be eligible to receive intelligence briefings anymore. This is the first time that a former president has been cut out of these briefings. But we've never truly had a president trump have we biden explained in that norah o'donnell interview saying quote. I just think that there's no need for him. To have the intelligence briefings. What value is giving him. An intelligence briefing. What impact does he have at all other than the fact that he might slip and say something and he also said that has shown quote erratic behavior. Well that certainly the polite way to say that. He's been acting crazy honestly if he didn't read them well he was president. Why should he get them now. I mean the way. I imagine it. They practically had to create puppet shows and plays to get him the information that was in those briefings like they probably had to act it out for him. The man doesn't or possibly can't read so the story here as promised is about the flus really bad year sir remember. I talked a couple weeks ago. About how bad well not. How bad how good for us it was that. This year's flu season is almost nonexistent. In that was in new york city as it turns out that sort of the case. Globally this reporting from the atlantic followed a doctor from the mayo clinic in rochester minnesota. And they just sort of talked it over with them. What they're seeing in. Why we might be seeing this really good flu season for us. He said on december first that they began testing all patients with respiratory symptoms for covert and the flu so thousands and thousands of these tests have turned up positive for covid but out of the twenty thousand flu tests that they've run which is ten times. The usual number zero have come back positive for the flu since early fall. Eight hundred thousand flu tests in the. Us have been done and only fifteen hundred have been positive. That's point two percent for context. That's about one hundred times so last year. We had a hundred times more cases at this time when we had done. Eight hundred thousand tests back then. The flu positivity rate was anywhere between twenty and thirty percent twenty and thirty percent a lot of other respiratory viruses have disappeared as well well disappeared in quotes because they're still out there somewhere including ones for the common cold. Obviously the reason for this is the number of restrictions and precautions that we've had to put in place social distancing masks etc and all of those help because the regular flu and covid spread in pretty much the same ways however covert spreads more easily because it can be passed on by people who don't even have symptoms in front example just look at all these super spreader events. That didn't happen before. It's not like if you went to the movie theater and just anyone had the flu. You al- suddenly got the flu. There are also differences at the macroscopic level. Like how it sticks to the particles that we exhale when we breathe or talk like cova sticks more easily so is easier to transmit of course doctors

"Is giving 7500 free Super Bowl tickets to vaccinated health care workers. Had the league made that announcement this morning. This year's Super Bowl will be in Tampa. So officials say most of the health care workers will be from central Florida. However, all 32 teams will get to pick some vaccinated workers from the community to go and attend as well. 2020 NBA Draft goes virtual
"Draft. I'm gonna start there because it was last night. And for being really honest, man. It was weird, right? It was weird. It was always going to be weird. We knew this. It was going to be weird because it was held in November. And because it's been eight months since we've seen any of the college players on the floor, and it was going to be weird, because, like everything else, it was going to be virtual. All right. So a virtual draft first up a quick note on the virtual aspect, it actually is pretty well done. You look good felt a lot better than having Roger Goodell in his basement and the emotions from the players when they were at home, surrounded by family and friends felt a lot stronger and a lot more authentic than having them a tables in a gigantic NBA arena.
Titans playing their next game after no new COVID-19 cases for two days
"Where things stand on on the titans playing their next game and also the investigation as to why. It. the titans players decided to hold their own practices after being told to go home Tom. Well, that's what the NFL in the NFL. PA. have been looking into and they. reviewed surveillance video they have conducted interviews I can tell you that with people in the organization as well as with players trying to get to the bottom of you know, how did those unauthorized offside workouts and I'm told there are multiple involving multiple physician groups. How did those come together they've also looked into whether or not masks were being weren't consistently They've looked into whether tracking devices were worn consistently and if violations. are found in certainly seems like at least on the workout front than you would expect, there's going to be disciplined on potentially harsh discipline i. mean there's only been truly one outbreak. The Patriots have had three cases over the past week here but the titans have had twenty three over two plus weeks, and the fact you still had people in the past couple of days in terms of players testing positive lends credence to the idea that. There was continued community spread after the facility closed because the players continue to get together on their own having said all that in terms of their ability to play this game on Tuesday I am told there is a possibility that the titans facility for the first time since September twenty-ninth could reopen as soon as tomorrow afternoon, they could be back to work do a walk through maybe tomorrow do a practice on Sunday you're ready to. Play on Tuesday, and even if they have an additional positive tests it was emphasized to me today. The NFL is looking at the entirety of this situation I mean Roger Goodell playing Md. here. I'm talking about Dr Al and Sills, they have a committee of epidemiologists to look at this as well as the committee of GM's and coaches and players who are deciding some of the competitive aspects of this. There were a through the contact tracing. A number of titans players that had identified as high risk close contacts with some of the recently infected individuals. So there is a likelihood if not an expectation that you will continue to have additional positive tests in the coming days prior to that game on Tuesday and the same thing with the Patriots there were multiple on told patriots players who been identified as close high risk contacts with the phone more. So again, a likelihood if not. An. Expectation could have additional positive test, but the League is not do. There's no hard rule that if you have a test on this amount before kickoff, we have to cancel every situation is being taken on a case by case basis and they're doing what they can and trusting the protocols to try to make these Games happen on Monday and Tuesday

The Real Reason NFL Ratings Are (Slightly) Down
"So Dan. Let's start the story back in June is been ten days since George Floyd was brutally murdered. To actually. Listen to you. We had this prominent NFL players put out that video about black lives matters. Behalf. Football League. This is what we the players would like to state. Leave black lives matter. And then Commissioner Roger Goodell doing what the players had requested. We the National Football League emit we wrong for not listening to NFL players earlier and encourage all to speak out in peacefully protests. Read the National Football League Aleve black lives matter was their concern within the NFL at that time about the league. So openly embracing the black lives matter movement and concern that it could impact. TV ratings when the season began I think without a doubt. There was concern commissioner goodell made that video without consulting the owners many of whom in the past taken a hard line on kneeling intertwining politics, social issues and sport. We have more on the story that is dominating the National Football League the anthem protests Jerry Jones was Adam Sunday that any player that does not stand for the national. Anthem will not play Jones clarified that statement telling our Chris sentiment within the NFL that good for business is no intersection of politics and sports. Now that boat seems to have clearly have sailed not just in the NFL, but the rest is sport but I would be surprised if ratings fall, we don't begin to hear some voices from within the NFL saying we've gone too far on opening. Night of the season, the chiefs versus Texans, we saw players link arms in a moment of Solidarity Ladies and gentlemen please join us in a moment of silence dedicated to the ongoing fight or equality in our country, and we've seen a number of players putting names of victims of police brutality on their helmets. What's bend the public response to those moves? Obviously in Kansas City there was some booing. Depending on which media outlet you read it was either a lot of booing or a little booing. But there was some booing and interviewing the fans who booed it's hard to know why whether they disapproved of the message whether they disapproved adjust anything interfering with sports but there will always be that voice saying we don't want is social issues politics intersect was fort. So after week one, there were reports that NFL ratings were down though it turns out those reports weren't entirely accurate and a whole bunch of analysis followed, Dan, what was some of the commentary around those early reports were obviously in a politically charged Environment, and there are those who want to scribe lower sports ratings to the political movements that have intersected with sports. So you saw headlines and certain conservative publications woken NFL ratings down sixteen seventeen percents the doubleheader on Monday night football, the Sunday night football game, the Thursday night kickoff game those were down monstrously large over last season. Why is that to me? The answer is pretty simple. My hypothesis is when you get woke, you go broke but everybody in this environment of trump versus bite in republican versus Democrat. Every wants to interpret sports ratings through that Lens football's boring as hell, it's just not the same pattern. Used to. Say could you keep it away from football game? Now say, could you possibly do it during football game? We have some free time when really the reasons for ratings rise and fall have very little to do in my opinion with the political news of the day.

Midnight Patriot, nation welcome to NFL. Mid Nitrates it is you boy spartan here with the the ever ever pot and flaming premix A good to have you as D to ultra. Sports nerds. In specifically football cards. On the end on the. Patriot staff. Phoenix tonight decided that we were actually GonNa do kind of a deep dive into what is pissing us off most about NFL and. Most pro sports in general to be quite honest. But we're GONNA focus on the NFL in this particular case because. Both Phoenix, myself have. A long history of both fandom and and. Playing Sports, we have a unique appreciation of what it takes. More it doesn't and how it is devolved into the into this shit show that it is. Just, we're just GONNA go from there. So Phoenix you had you had some thoughts that you wanted to start with go ahead. Well specifically. I I have a major gripe with the NFL in general. Being more politicized. And the. Let's End Racism. Okay, I get my left. Black lives matter. No sorry. They do and I agree with the message just not the manor which is being delivered. We've said that before on the organization go ahead. Exactly. All of a sudden you know we have a organization. That's Through much. Yup You can't do this. You know we have this. AFOREMENTIONED SCAMMED EMMA GOING ON. You can't do this. You can't do this. Well Yeah you can't. Okay. And then we have the social unrest of the nation being thrown into. A sporting. Venues. that. For All intents purposes let's call it. What is it's an escape. It allows us the viewer. Fan. That three four hours. Sunday evening Monday night whatever that. It gives us that escape from eager live love get up go to work and deal with people you come home you deal with cranky wife and kids don't listen dog that Shit's in your shoes. You've taken that away. And now have made it. Well we got to get on board with this. Well, we're relevant to. We're a large. Organization we goner? A multitude of platforms. That we have viewership. There any given? Day that we have competition So now we're going to. Paint messages in the end. We're going to have. Athletes will we're going to kneel to show solidarity. I got a huge problem with that and for our listeners I'm sure you have your own platforms as well. The American flag comes I stand for Gore country you back your country everything else second berry period. That's my thought on that. That's the way it is. Unfortunately when. The NFL NBA MLB hockey underwater basket weaving has become politicized in what we have to show solidarity with this. I have a question. Are you showing solidarity four? Message. Or are you As the NFL did let's put. The name of a known fell one on a helmet. Let's. Let's praise this guy because shot back when a an. Amplifier point in accused rapists. Is someone with a warning active warrants? For Rape Yes. So here in my eternal gripe with this, that will probably go down in flames just like the rest of them. Why are we? In fact. Standing behind. Someone. WHO BREAKS THE LAW? WHO does walk. Yes. They didn't listen. They got shot in the back whatever. House we say. Extenuating circumstances came to be that this ended up how that was. We have to stand behind this person as a form of. Instead of. Waiting, for all the facts that come out be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. And then move forward from there. Well. That's the real question. Isn't it is is you know? All we've seen is what has been allowed to be released. Okay I mean look I think in his thing I agree with everything you just said save one thing. Okay. I don't think demand deserve to be shot seven times point blank in the back now. Having said that. He has an active warrant for his arrest, what he should not have done to prevent that whole situation was to surrender. Get handcuffed and be taken into to engage whatever process there is. Okay, you don't fight cops in the street if you do. You mess with the bull, you get the horns. Okay. He's admitted he was armed. He's admitted he was going for a different arm- armament. Okay. And what do we expect the COPS to die? I don't think so you know I'm. In the eyes of them, that's probably what they're saying. Well. Preserved by life fuck yours. Well exactly. The COP Exactly and and my my attitude would be y is either one wrong as far as you know, one one has a duty to behave professionally the other has a duty to follow the law. Or face the consequences you know it would have saved him from getting shot in the back if he had stopped if he turned around if he'd Toronto. Surrendered Okay Understand that I understand the Warren has has since been vacated, but that's beside the point. When a COP's his I warrant for your arrest I mean you're supposed to do is say what am I being arrested for? Okay I'll go peacefully ears might whereas my lawyer yeah. Instead, of no fuck you fight you tooth and nail, and if get away up the war still there, but you don't have me. Right. Exactly. Exactly and you know I got I got I got a I. got a interject because you know. My personal opinion is if you probably agree Is this. Cancer of case. started. It may have it may have had other sources. Okay. But its primary. Protagonist, in growth factor was Colin. Kaepernick a few years ago and I don't say that in a flattering manner. Okay. I've said it before the my opinion that Colin Kaepernick is the biggest fraud on the planet as pertains to the NFL. At least Ryan leaves when he signed what Leash Langley, when he signed, he knew he was shit approved the wish she had any faded off politely into the sunset because he saw a gay. young just tell the story as I. Recall it and you you you feel free to chime in when you. When when you when you if I'm off base okay. A lot of people don't remember this but you and I as King's football and many things in life have a have a memory quite a bit longer than than your average goldfish. Okay? I remember watching the first incidents of Cabernet court on code kneeling and he wasn't fucking Neil. He had just had an argument with his with with the head coach and I don't think it was Kelly. It may have been horrible. But he had the yard, the head, the argument with Joe it was horrible wasn't horrible yet. So out of you probably saw the clip to you can't find it now because it's Youtube everywhere else. He had he had A. Verbal altercation with Harbhajan and I can only assume in what we were told. You know later was that harbaugh. told him. No you're not starting a colon Cabernet got very unprofessional and like the diva quarterback that he is. Turn Turnhill stomped over to the bench slammed his helmet down in plop disaster down on the bench now by sheer and toll coincidence. Anthem had just started. The anthem it just started when that HAP-. ACI. I know you remember this is I think you and I talked about this at the time that it happened because we were mocking him because when I weren't weren't quarterbacks when we played the game and we know what divas they are even princesses, they are this. If you remember and I know you do espn headlines a couple of days. Later words were that Colin Kaepernick was going to be fine. Substantially for multiple instances of unprofessional conduct conduct deleterious to the team. Leading up to the altercation with harbaugh that happened where he plops his ass on the bench you remember that ideas that. Dakhla and it was it was post practice I. Believe I want a That later that week that a reporter asked him. About the state of the fines and Based on his lip based on. Let's just call it what it was temper Tantrum. Okay. And that's when Cabernet sold all this bullshit about he was doing it in protest etcetera etcetera and he played the race card, which we all know the press eats up hook line and sinker and never ever questioned. Ever On. Me It came across and partner Jackie No, you're good. The the instance of which we are discussing out my first thought on that was yes it's a temper tantrum and I'm about to be busted for having a temper tantrum. So allow me to make up some juicy. To Garner more attention to the fact that. This is happening to be Gimme Gimme. GimMe and I lost my starting spot. Well, that's the that's the point I'm making. He played the race card to avoid fight. For on professional conduct and he was he was outright given a past. I don't think he ever actually even actually got find something that was overlooked too is that is that nick is not a person of color is really not us he is a multi-racial okay and part of that find that he was going to get for unprofessional conduct was calling somebody else on the field the N. Word back can't say here because quite frankly it's feds even and number two I don't WanNa get show you monetize but that said that was part of that that was part of the fine to be levied. The fine was vacated. Okay. Because he was successful, you successfully played the race card and got out. Okay and this whole shift started this snowball at that point. as we as we all know you know he was he was basically the the the face man for chip. Kelly's offense that you know while short term short term effective was absolutely not sustainable. Okay. We all know that. And you combine that with the fact that the guy had. Just over just under a shooting just over sixty percent for completion rate. Even in that offense at his best day, he was a mediocre quarterback surrounded by a bunch of very talented people. Okay. So now it has become the fact that you know this whole narrative has has escalated by people that that know nothing about the actual game because. Football is simple. It's not easy, but it's simple. Is. The ultimate meritocracy. Okay talent hard work equals success. Okay there's a lot of guys. We can probably point him out on the field you and I. There's a lot of guys that that. That just simply outworked their competition to get where they are I'll give you. I'll give you one prime example and right now they call him the goat Tom. De. Tom. Brady was drafted was I can remember he was drafted. He was I. Don't think he was Mr irrelevant. But he was real close. He was the very bottom. Yes. Six he was very close to the very end of end of the draft in and he is he outworked is is competition. Now granted drew bledsoe. If people can remember back set for was not a very good quarterback anyways. He was only borderline better than Ryan Leaf and he went down Tom Brady took over in the rest as they say district but. No? One ever questioned, Tom? Brady's work ethic in those dynasty years in in in New England. Okay. Because he outworked he, he worked his ass off. Yes he was talented. Yes. He's physically gifted but that plus hardwork dedication to his craft turned into in the in the the hardware for the hand so to speak. and. anyways back to my point about Cabernet. All, these people talking about how Catherine doesn't have a job because he's bad for business or half rights, they're only half rice. Now I posted this to the page I know you read you probably it is I. Think I read this week we went to this is from ESPN DOT COM itself. Okay. ESPN DOT. com. The actual date this was published as March twentieth two, thousand seventeen. By their staff writer Kevin Seaford. and. I am just going to read it. I'm. GonNa. I'M GONNA. Try to read the whole thing. I'm trying Doug only try to read the parts that are relevant. But those those listening. If you go to our face, a bitch facebook dot com slash midnight patriots. You'll be able to find this article and we shared it the title of it is calling Kabir Knicks based problem performance. Politics. Day It starts off real simple. So Don't over think why Colin Kaepernick is still a free age simply put years have passed since he was ineffective quarterback he's twenty nine years old has succeeded in an unsustainable scheme as part of a well populated group of former starters who also remain available at as this week began now getting that was march twenty, twenty, seventeen. So they were in free agents. Okay. Let's. Let's move on here. It's blamed Colin Kaepernick's unemployment on his protest is to misread the way NFL teams make personnel decisions. that. I don't think there's any more true statement on Earth. Do you I? MEAN THAT'S Yeah. So it goes on protests where does say at any type of business that if you have lackluster performance, did you are guaranteed two hundred million dollar job? Number One and two I was GONNA say there have been divas troublemakers in the NFL before? Okay and Kim's and? Lewis Terrell on. You know. List goes on and on. And let's not forget the NFL is the lead cut an outright banned ray rice running back from the Ravens for domestic violence. Okay. Before he was convicted. Suspended A. Peterson for disciplining his child. Yeah for banking hit saw. Yeah. Okay for spanking his own child. Okay. So now they put criminals names on their helmet. so by but I digress I digress let's get back to the article. Just to just to go just to go. Teams are swayed I by players potential or lack thereof to help them win protest or not kapernick would be under contract. Now, if he had demonstrable if he had played demonstrably better in recent years. Let's look closer at where capper nick is as a quarterback and why that has left him sitting in a group that also includes fellow free agents, Jay Cutler Josh mccown Ryan Fitzpatrick and Robert Griffin the third. Again keep in mind. This is from shelvin teachings of this is three years ago. Okay. But. It goes on to some of the reason I liked this 'cause this is based on facts not just you know a bunch of race baiting bullshit. Kapernick grid NFL success came as part of the San Francisco Forty niners read Options Skiing Twenty, twelve to twenty four. In those three years, he rushed for Fifteen, hundred, seventy, eight yards which okay. I will give credit that impressive gudgeon impressive number. For. More than any other quarterback with the exception of Rush Russell Wilson Cam Newton so let's just call it what it is. He was third rushing quarterback against. It breath. Okay. I will not fall the net. His. Success. He threw more than twice as many touchdown passes interceptions helped him compile eighth best time quarterback rating in the NFL seventy point to over that period. But even then capper nick was one of the lease most. Least Accurate quarterbacks is sixty point one completion percentage ranked twenty third in the NFL and has percentage of off target throws judged on video by espn stats and information ranked eighteen. So. Based on just the stats alone he was a middle of the pack quarterback middle of the pack. Does that mean that he's better than half the other guys absolutely does that mean that that you know the drama he brings? Outweighs his skills is still setting the money in the monetary investment probably. Okay I agree or disagree just on that statement there. I would agree that yeah, he's a middle of the road quarterback. He had some skill. At. That position. That offense. You're right. Would it work somewhere else probably not but that's Changing teams, you learned their offensive scheme you learn what they do best blend yourself into that and you become part of the team not a one man show. that. I, mean you'd have to agree that most had coaches that have half a brain would go sixty, four, sixty point one completion percentage. even if you're even if you're going to do A. A bootleg offense even if you're going to do a boot offense. Play I can. Still going to have to be better than sixty point one. Periods I mean just entered discussion. Quarter, you're talking college level quarterback. Even if you're on a naked, do either one side, you're still depending on receivers tied ends backs to be open at some point that you can actually say, Hey, he's opened easel bewitched of the two weevils need a cheese her who exactly exactly union able to identify and hit those targets or at least give your guys in a position to succeed you know. I'd like to. Bring to Light I. Not Very long after capital started his quest masqueraded by some of justice whatever you WANNA call it only because he got in my mind and correct me if I'm wrong, he got busted out period. That's just the way it is you through Tantrum he got his ass busted will now I gotta cover with this to cover that with this, and then all of a sudden we have one big lie that snowball into the entire solstice thing that's going on currently. You're. Going to look they had to go. He ended up in Washington. In front of US rest. Explaining his side of everything that goes on great. Denver Broncos of whom I am a fan. I it. Does not get into that because. Pirate about that right. That's ultimate digression. Go ahead, John. elway. It had in fact offer Catholic before your contract. said. Hey. COMPLA-. Can come down because it wasn't enough money. Wait a minute. Let's look at your stats a sixty sixty point something or other completion percentage. Yes. You had fifteen hundred yards rushing, which as we've discussed is pretty phenomenal quarterback save. Russell. Cam. Newton. Maybe rg three hundred healthy. That's stretching it buttle throw it in there. Anyway. I. Really. Wanted to see if capital could be plugged into that offense and sell. Well, that's the that's the real trick. Isn't it? I mean? End and let's be clear. He turned it down because the salary was too low, not the money. Or maybe remember correctly, he turned it down because John elway wanted to load the one at the loaded up with incentives and say, okay, you exceed this mark you get ex you this you get what we go to the playoffs and when you get Z. Experience Cetera so wasn't of excellent. Yeah. But exactly to perform at your very best as cut your in the NFL, they don't take ship nothing while the that's when the NFL stands for not for lofts. That and let's be honest. It was not only. Did he had he had to meet performance criteria he had to me behavior criteria, EXAC? elway and the broncos weren't going to stand for this s J. W. S. J. W. Crap. That he's pulling. So let's go back to the article real quick. It'll it'll. It'll really start driving the point home. Okay. So I believe he started kneeling rating was two fifteen. So. Article Goes On. The issues that we were just talking about the increasing. Or decreasing completion percentage decreasing accuracy except sets. Those issues intensified in Twenty fifteen and twenty sixteen amid forty nine ers. Coaching turmoil in talent drain since the start of the twenty fifth season Kapernick ranks get this. Last in the NFL thirty five all five passers in off target percentage is off target twenty, two point six percent of the time which when she is the least accurate quarterback in the. League. As of the twenty. Fifteen. It goes on. Is Complete. Complete is completion percentage ranks number thirty, two at fifty, nine point one. He was still one of the NFL's most productive Shink quarterbacks, ranking number four total yardage over all those years but it didn't mitigate his passing deterioration and this is in my mind. This is the absolute most important line in the yard or ear and an adult. There is no more important attribute for quarterback accuracy especially for a free agent who is shopping himself teams with various schemes. In, the long term a quarterbacks running ability is considered a complimentary skill and one that is story. Fade with age or because of injuries, scrambling ability and arms drank are secondary to whether you can hit the target. That analysis backed up by numbers essentially wreck stay shit out of this current narrative will Cohen Governor never draw. Back. Dinners. Any beds no sorry. Have a fucking job because he sucks. Sex At what he does also, there's a theory going around the going around that it was right about twenty, nine, hundred he met his I don't know if she's still has girlfriend whatever evidently these ideas about radical justice one I'd ever definitely his girlfriend is, is some sort of radical s j w as well, and he was too stupid to either a lever to the side or be not listen door and just agree to disagree on stuff but then again. Go ahead exactly what it is. Power Pussy with exactly exactly and you quite frankly I can't fault them for that because you know that's ninety percent of marriages happen. We'll just we'll just leave at this point. Is that right there? That's You were saying regarding his ability to suck. But it started then I mean he the guy the guy got lazy. He got loud. Through the race card to cover his shit then he couldn't back up his mouth with performance. You know do you your ears? Rocco's fat okay. Let's talk about just a second. Let's talk about Shannon Sharpe just for ten seconds or for a few seconds. Okay. Shannon Sharpe. Is An arrogant prick agree or disagree now When I hang on, hang on that said. Shannon Sharpe liked to run his mouth about a lot of stuff at a lot of different times also true. Yes. Yes. Shannon Sharpe never failed toback his mouth up with his physical actions on field. Also. True. Unless I'm Clinton mistake, it have you seen the. I know he's A. He's a beast. His and by that, I, mean his physique and his skill level we're just unprecedented but you know I do I think running your mouth there's unprofessional Mind that you buy then back it up on the field nut so much. I mean. Go ahead. If I if I remember correctly now, remember this because there is significant events happened in my life sixteen nineteen. broncos are in the midst of the run to Super Bowl thirty two. Tonight game. In Kansas City in Kansas. City. I can remember. Watching a few days later because of recovering from surgery on. Shannon. Sharpe was literally being drug halfway across the field for most of the game by his helmet because he was talking some serious Shit Oh. Yeah. I. Remember Correctly Dr Thomas. If. If I get an incorrect Thomas Yeah. So. So pissed off the guy, he knocking, Kane insane composure in his professionalism in the game. You got what? I think. Say He lit it up. He was like Yeah. That's ten to twelve for. The Gargantuan One, twenty, one, twenty, six, and what two touchdowns. Yeah he was a month. So. All of a sudden sanders our. Love the Guy I've actually met him. Helvin individual. Love Tall. But he can copious amounts of Shit Oh. Yeah. Oh yeah that that man can back his mouth up. Oh Yeah. We have an and. He. End Let's let's break that down from an NFL perspective. So I'm a personnel manager. Okay and I have Shannon Sharpe as a free agent. His name comes across the wire I go holy Fuck Ball sharps available, and I already know that a he's allowed mouth be he likes to talk shit and sees extremely opinionated man but D-. The Guy Backs should have on the field I picked up the phone. I pick up the phone and say Hello Mr Shannon. Trump's lawyer her agent. This is me at the I would like to pay your your plant, a lot of money obscene amount of money to come help us when football game sets. Ended up with the. Exactly for whatever he was with the Ravens what three years. Say but he wanted them for four super bowl with their to. The argument that Colin Kaepernick doesn't have a job because Hashtag grace is complete an utter bullshit. Bullshit and the the fact that Roger Goodell has bought into this Shit Hook Line and sinker is even worse. Okay. You would think that that to be the commissioner of of a National League or National Professional Sports League that race in what eight to ten billion dollars. A year in gross revenue. You have. You'd have to have an IQ above your shoe size. Goodell even that these people that that they're they're professing to support. Social Justice. Wise. He realized that the vast majority of them do not watch the Games couldn't tell you five players in the league and doesn't even know couldn't name five teams lot I mean. She probably I mean. Look at some of the fan base. Did Not tell you the difference three, four, three defense. Yeah don't try to get him to describe the Tampa to. Exactly or various offensive formation. You're the simultaneous simultaneous possession roll which you and I can quote by heart understand completely. Exactly. Our guys we've got another segment coming up right after this brief break. Stay tuned. Midnight Patriot nations spartan with a shameless plug for our new gear shop shop. Dot. MIDNIGHT PATRIOTS DOT COM. T shirts, hats, hoodies, mugs, phone cases, and just about everything else in between we got you covered whether you're looking to embrace your insomnia, show your patriotism or make a liberals headaches blowed. Really, Shop Dot Midnight Patriots, Dot Com, and now back to the show. You know that's that said. I made a prediction in in midnight moment the last night moment and I want to run around wanted to run that by. Not. Only understand that the business portion of the of the game, but also the game itself. So this is going to the business portion now. One. Of the things that you and I both know is that owners very rarely. SAY WHAT THEY THINK Or say or reveal their plans in advance. Okay. I've noticed that the owners have remained. Suspiciously quiet. About the social justice campaign that's currently going on I do disagree with that. I mean like I said, I think Jerry Jones is really the only one that's actually made any sort of statement and it wasn't a very long. I ever Jones ever quiet. What that's that's my point. And say instead of instead of. Me thinks he protests too much. Me think she says nothing for more sinister Okay so I wanted to run this by this is my theory. Okay. Now we've confirmed the the the Monday night compal atrocity from last night. US. Or Susani from two nights ago that. We've confirmed that the viewership was down approximately twenty nine percent. Across the board in that double header. So if we take the two games Monday and the overall ratings of of being down for Sunday you're talking an average of of a twenty percent downer. It's one fifth of the audience of the television audience told the NFL the PISS off. Okay. Considering the the significant financial investment ESPN has for for the right. To. Monday night football. Let's just let's just call that loss unsustainable. Okay. So I am going to ask you to engage your owner brain for just a minute. Okay. So We're GONNA fast forward to the week after the Super Bowl's okay where things are notably notably quite Rosalie quiet. The coaching carousel began and things like that since. Day. Except that, there's going to be a rumor. Going to be a rumor. That the NFL that the owners are considering locking out the players because they want to renegotiate the contracts. And this will come as a surprise to dumb asses in the AT ESPN released. They're going to feign surprise. Okay. And we're going to start hearing things like while the coaches are not gonNa make anymore are putting hiring decisions are the owners are going to. Put a hiring decisions on pause for just We're going to review a few things and Blah Blah Blah. While then we're going to get to Russia's started free agency. And we'RE GONNA. Find out and it's probably going to be one of the one of the What's The guy's name? Remember his name. One of the reporters Schefter Adam schefter because he always breaks up he's. Probably. GonNa be schefter becomes. We have confirmed reports, the owners who are going to lock out the players affected nine am tomorrow or whatever. Okay. Now what's going to end up happening is this. The overall I would say, the overall revenue is going to decline somewhere in the area of twenty percent across the before the Lee across the. Across the season. Okay. Now again does just a prediction it might be higher. I hope it's higher until they stop dish this personally but. This is what's going to happen. You're going to get a massive ratings ratings cut. Even in the Super Bowl. Which means revenue is going to be down roughly thirty percents. Okay. What they're gonNA say is this is an unprecedented drop in revenue and the the losses are unsustainable. They're going to have to renegotiate the contracts. The players are GONNA have to take less money and this time the the ownership is going to be able to show concrete. The because of the drop in television revenue in Jersey sales and everything else. That they're going to have to renegotiate the contract. They're going to vote on removing Goodell as the commission. You're actually they're gonNA, they're gonNA end up forcing him out but the way it's GonNa play out this players are to get locked out. There's going to be a review of the deal of the of the current Labor Labor Agreement. The new agreement is GONNA. Have a significantly lower. Revenue Pool total that that the players are going to get. And they're going to have conduct they're going to have enhanced conduct policy which include the jewel stand for the national anthem. You will not hiding locker room for it. And you're going to we're going to not endorse anyone as far as any sort of political failure, your ideology on the field, and if you do not only will your contract be terminated but you'll be you'll be on the breadline by your suspended for a year. Now maybe the suspended for year won't come to pass but. Engage your own our brain for just a second and then look at the strike years that came up and you tell me how how how. Or how far I'll fight on that. Will. Allow me to. Dive into this plan I mean. Here we go. I am an owner of a NFL team. Meaning I have had to. Put Out. Let's use an arbitrary figure five hundred million dollars cash right upfront. Chooses five hundred. Half a billion. Cool. I'm. Glad. Yeah. Five hundred million dollars up front in order to gain my team have somewhere to play. The voted on passed and approved by the NFL. As either an expansion team whatever then. To, Cherry pick the other teams around here so I can build my team. In hopes that a I get a return on investment. That said if I'm going to dump five, hundred, million dollars out. A team equipment place play contracts that are stretched for X. number of years. This mice guaranteed this much at a signing bonus this much. Not. including the money paid to the team from the NFL for reaching a wildcard round, a divisional round championship round, and ultimately the Super Bowl. There are incentives paid to the teams by the NFL for attaining postseason plum. Yeah So that said with everything that goes on here. Currently we're martyring. Convicted felons we are. Using the NFL. As a soapbox. As an owner. would. Say? Okay. I can understand. The Point I understand where you're coming from I understand yes. Shit doesn't like this doesn't need to happen. It does there's nothing I can physically do about it personally except point out to you that you're not them. You are a multimillionaire more working your way to that point because of your talent, your skill and your ability play the game price. You as a athlete. well-fed well trained. Best shape, your ever loving life you have a house bigger than anything you've ever grew up in, you've got cars for days all these other things but. You need to remember that you are entertainer You're not a politician. So, that said. When to go into your point? After the Super Bowl. Until they actually have one right. That two weeks later, when everything's died down in the in the winter sprayed is over and losers or duck griping and the coaches players have made their way to their respective all. Wherever. That may be they're probably their private castles. Yes don't don't live in a castle guarded by you know dogs bigger than. Most people's. Cars. Were we will probably see as you said. Well you know revenue was down. Because of viewership is down across the board anywhere between currently twenty twenty, two percent to encroaching upon thirty percent. For Games you know TV, rights merchandise sales are going to be down. People are actively boycotting across those media and they're actually making their voice known by not watching. All of a sudden if we were to take thirty two current teams. And we look at. All the owners in this how much money they have? Now if we were to take thirty percent of total investment apart. As a conglomerate figure. We're talking a loss of probably and I would strong. Guess. Somewhere in the neighborhood of anywhere between two and two point, five, billion dollars while even go you want all you can go one better I think since the economy has basically picked up I mean you gotta remember the day to ten billion was during the Obama Konami which was one of the worst economies history. Okay. So that said you gotta figure that now it's probably going to be between ten and twelve. So if you have a twenty percent revenue law, if you have a almost thirty percent, you're talking about three billion dollars. That's a three billion dollar loss. So even if even if you spread that across thirty two teams, you're talking about what? Three hundred, million dollar loss per franchised. and. So and a lot of the smaller market. Good. So again, as an owner with Joan, arbitrary figure of five, hundred, million dollars starting I just lost seventy five percent of your or yeah of my revenue that I put into have an NFL team. Well, exactly. Well Number One and number two what anybody thinks that now? Okay. We all understand the cats at the revenue sharing For Those of us that are initiated, understand understand the the the reason for revenue. Okay. That's that's a given. Okay. Even still a thirty percent cut to that revenue devastates small-market teams devastate. Okay that's. Cleveland Cleveland Cambe that's Detroit. Well, I think Detroit is a bit bigger, but I catch meaning. into. Jacksonville. Flow? Buffalo Alright. That unders. Anyway. They're too big but no I hear you here's here's here's the thing the smaller market teams are going to move may if this continues maybe on the verge of bankruptcy and and if you really don't think that the NFL owners will lock out the players to avoid that. I just think everybody's so naive that they shouldn't even be a football fan you can. Football I in my opinion, these played the players and Adele are cutting the owners throats and I don't think the owners appreciate it number one and number two I. Think the owners are more in touch with their demographic their fan base style people want to believe i. don't say that they like their fan base because obviously as the executive class billionaires general ended the tend to hate working people or at least have a disdain for them. Okay. But the point being is that it's unsustainable model for them to go forward to continue this crap. Of K, it's it's absolutely ludicrous. So I think about beat that horse to death did you have anything to add on just on that? Final thought regarding that as an owner is a businessman I yeah exactly. Exactly. His businesses to? Yes he owns the team but as a business owner, you're always looking to. CRUISER BOTTLE BLONDE Increase but also you know they've got, they've got a commitment. You know what I mean I mean the bottom line is there are associated with raising revenue to pay Patrick mahomes half a billion dollars over the next. Seven years. Of. The point the point is this is that there are costs associated developing that revenue and win the players behavior or when when the when the the players union in the League encourages behavior that is deleterious to to that mission. Then what are the owners supposed to do? Gordon exactly. They locked the doors take resigning before we open this and then players you're GONNA WE'RE GONNA have to do a big restructure here. Sorry. You know this is this is not you? Not You know you're not this side of the world you guys are on the upper echelon. Of money you have succeeded in. On yourself up by your bootstrap for lack of terminology, you have made it playing a game that you love passion for three enforce your point duty not only are they a privileged class? Okay. Let I verified this I verify this last night. I made a statement that that. The NFL, the people on the NFL minimum as in rookies that that you know what we're undrafted free agents, right that are somehow made the squad, which is more powerful MAZAFA. A No experience. Rookie. Signed as a free agent this year in the League makes a minimum of six hundred, thousand dollars. Six hundred, ten, thousand dollars I then went to the Department of Labor's website guess what the average household income for Americans is as twenty twenty. Sixty, one, thousand, three, hundred. Yes. They working person would take ten eleven years to make. They're making six months show and this is not this is not an insult. I'm only going to use the label for for effect. Hacks in the NFL make ten times. The average working family does and they dare fucking lecture us about what our values should be faulk them. Big F what. Exactly. With a with capitalize all letters with with several exclamation points at the end. So that said I. Underlined and and I tell us is never. That's that said, I I wanNA give credit where it's due also understand that you know. What did I just go off on the NFL to you know to to to the end up with surprise we'll tell you why because You know even in the worst of situations, even even in the darkest night, there are rays of sunshine out gather are rays of light and I want to heap praise on two particular players, and these are the only two players. That I'm aware of have done this if any of you out there. Needed to midnight Patriot nation are aware of more please let us know. So we can give them their just desserts in their props. I want to give particular a credit to a hundred in the way of of the of the Pittsburgh steelers. Mr Villanueva is a former army ranger That said he made a big splash stirred shit storm by doing the right thing. I'm not going to get into the to the criminal that that the that the steelers. We're trying to honor Norma GonNa try to justify it didn't happen there but. Mr Vienna wave. Did something very classy He caped over the criminals name and he chose to honor sergeant first class all when cash. Now I believe I'm saying that correctly cut me some slack by brute if I if I. A brutalized his name that is not the intention. To say how I believe it's spelled. But sergeant first, class all, when. Cash. who was killed in Afghanistan? And I I, WANNA. I WANNA take. The chance to really You know he preys on on Mr Villain away for for going against the grain and for honoring in a true fallen hero on instead of instead of the criminal. So. Well on on that. The next one and probably the biggest honors of the latest give to the Jaguars tight tyler effort. I think I'm saying his name correctly also I don't think it's effort at the. But again, please forgive me if I've Jaguars fans if wrecked his name to. That being said that were I for also You know went against the grain he chose to honor the life of David Dorn David Dorn for those of you that that don't know was retired police officer. I believe it was Saint Louis. He. police chief Sir about that. He was retired police chief and he. was acting on behalf of a friend to go and check is Friends Pawn Shop. And he was gunned down he was killed Doing doing that by a felon in possession of firearm each shot this this legitimate euro From behind in the back of the head, which was incredibly cowardly act. ADORNS widow. was featured at the Republican National Convention. So those be the she told the heart wrenching story and As much as I am I gotTa tell you broaden orphee side, but he loved me misty. I was just her story about David's life was very touching and the impact on her family were simply crush. So I wanNA other drove I drove home the point. Your choice exact life exactly as what makes you? Exactly you know people people come from from bad situations and rise to great heights in as far as I know. This is the only country in the world that that can happen. Where you can make what you want of your own life. Okay. The biggest prison that we have in this country, the prison in our own minds. So A. Big Praise to do Mr Bean away and Mr for will done. I still have the continue my. My boycott because of my standards but you gentlemen have shown that there is a a ray of light in darkness. So Phoenix where you have anything to add or have we beat this to death. By by Pres for. There are people in the NFL that are serving of. Respect for me for one. Not because of their wallet or their house or their cars. But they chose stand for the national anthem. As. SOMEONE WHO Leaves in their country. Leaves in the American dream all though little hard to attain sometimes. The anthem regardless of anybody's political stance. The gentleman across the nation. And the NFL NBA MLB. I stand with you guys choose to stand in honour your country. That is. The way it is your will said. Anybody else wants that is your choice. I. Respect your choice I don't like it but I do respect it. But I stand with the gentleman who chooses stanton honor the country, the greatest country on this earth. Gives them every opportunity to excel in anything that they choose to? Like professional football or professional athletics exactly. I think it. I think it's worth mentioning here. I know we said we beat the source of, but I wanNA bring up another topic to. Weird Midnight Patriots all of us. May disagree with with what someone says, but we would fight to our desk to protect their their right to say those words. That being said I think one of the other things that the public is piss pot tired of is the privileged wealthy assholes. Being able to have different sets of rules at their workplace than we do. In the Corporate World in William and most smaller companies you do not have. You do not have freedom of speech. Okay. You will be shown the door if you bring up politics religion, etc etc. Okay. With social justice causes or otherwise. They can show you the door. Okay and I don't think I don't think it's Ok these. Use Their their platform on the field or in any way while a uniform to promote their agenda. Okay. Now, I think you and I would agree with this if the NFL Players Association wants to get together and host either a live event or televised event. when they are not playing and they're out of uniform. And they want to tackle these issues donate money to causes give away money whatever I think that would be a perfectly acceptable display. That's fine. Okay. But I think the reason they don't is they know that the cause is a loser. Okay. They're not willing to risk their own money you know to they're not willing to put their money with their mouths are in order to have their protests but but you know somehow everybody else should just shut up and and honor was they're trying to do and I think that that is excellent. You know policy at its finest end. America's PISS POT tired of turning channel I. think that's a big factor as well. As your thoughts unfortunately mean here to. Drive your point. I could see. Getting together having one big party fundraiser l. have running toe board. Hey, you know we're raising all this money great or even several. Yeah Go. But the reason but the reason they're doing it on television is because they can reach a mass audience all at once. But. They haven't had. They had the NFL network. If. The shows a winner, they could sell it to their to their allies in the media. WHO's to say ESPN would cover it. You know for God's sake ESPN has the SP one of the worst ward Joe's ever. Okay and if they want to go up to that into a social justice show fine. Go right ahead or create when like it again. Fine. Or if you know even Amazon or Netflix wants to pick up something about you know the S J W 'cause in the NFL an interview players follow players around their charitable work while they advance these causes grace go ahead I mean I think what they'll find his a there's no interest in be nobody cares they approach it that way that we far less backlash in their their incomes would be far safer than if they continue down this path. the ratings would actually come back to a more normal. That's where I'm talking about I. Mean there are only cutting their own throats by doing it the way they're doing it that that's all I have to say. So that's a wrap for this midnight. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and team owner Dan Snyder spoke yesterday about the decision. "Watching the big ten parents throw Kevin. One's name under the bus and just run him over and I get it. Kevin Warren could have did a better job of. delivering the message and communicating the message about the season. Well, let's stop. That stop acting like Kevin War and made the decision to not play Football Kevin. Worn is the mouthpiece for the president in the big ten nothing more nothing less. He's the commissioner. He's no different than Roger Goodell in the NFL Roger. Goodell's job is to do what? The thirty one owners the Green Bay packers say that's his job. So when you people say where Roger Goodell made this decision okay he can make a couple of decision but the League is ran by the thirty one owners plus the packers in the Board of Governors there and So Kevin Worn is only doing what the president say but every talking head around the country says, well, Kevin Warren Council the big ten he did Kevin One just deliver the president told him to do, and so it's Kinda really been bothering me all the parents are taking their anger out on caring warn I think the big ten parents need to go ask the president at each individual school. How did you vote especially in Michigan Michigan President is in epidemiology I I'm not gonNA pretend to know what that means, but that's why they're smart. Okay Here's the guy who who is a world renowned medical doctor I would love to know what he voted because people in the big ten and are blaming Kevin. Warner, in at the end of the day, I don't think he ever Worn Beta decision and it's Kinda really been bothering me how they've been dragged his name through the mud ever since decision has been made, it's well said, fourteen people made a decision and Kevin Warren executed their vision booger. "And he had that conversation it was supposed to be with with a young white lady who knew she backed out last minute which actually end up working out for this scenario you have the conversation data quarter. Yeah and he said Hey Sam I think that we were made for this time I said, what do you mean? He said the fact that we were raised raised being black in America. But in fact, we've got exposed exposure to a lot of white America with school we went to Cetera we've been exposed to better terms, black America, playing sports and going to church you went to we are made for this specific moment. This is an opportunity that we cannot pass by. That was episode one. and to see what has happened even to the most recent episode with Roger Goodell One. Once again, we he shopping and I like I said our relationship with Roger. Said Hey man I could have my people each other you you and Roger Relationship could you reach out on my behalf? Right. So week or two after Roger Goodell showed up to my event in Chicago this grand opening of this liquor store and the in the south side on the west side of Chicago I got turned to a few mark and I said, Hey I know you've heard about my brothers episodes would you wanna come? And he said, yes, and to see the power of these last few episodes. It reminded me that he was right. Not only he but Jay will you keyshawn Yuzu you? We are all made for this moment. We cannot let this moment pass by not look at Jacob Lake, look at George floor looking. Looking beyond the Taylor and just go on with our day. There's no longer allow nobody you know better and I only do we know better but now the ties including people like Roger Goodell, right that sixty percent the ties of change is now accessible. That's why you see so many players protesting taking me wearing something on their Jersey speaking out and then The ties the changes. So now is the time if there ever was a time. There was a time with Dr King did and in six six now is the time for us to use our platform. For good, that's what Emmanuel do. That's what I'm GONNA do. That's what each one of us need to do for the people not it'd be distracted by sport. Here here priority over pigskins extremely well said Sam. Thank you very much. Fabric correct correct sports bettors listen for the money sports, fans, and no more than their bodies were pros. He's my favorite Joe Los. Angeles Joan knocks always good to be here are Jane. Yes, on a day in which it's the first Monday after an actual weekend in Vegas with actual people and actual gambling, and we await another quote unquote crucial week for Major League Baseball. What is the Vegas lead here today? One of those deadlines ago one point is GonNa be a real deadline. Let's start with the NFL and the. Response from the commissioner and the aftermath of that would. Is that going to mean anything? I! Don't have. I don't want to speculate you, know we. We speculate for a living but I, think we can reiterate the facts and see anything that jumps out at US and Roger Goodell. The commissioner of the NFL said just a couple of days ago in regards to the issues going on with with police brutality in the protests. He admitted quote that the NFL they were wrong for not listening to NFL players earlier, and they encourage all to speak out an peacefully protest. We the NFL believed black lives do matter. So the question I have, is this and I? Don't have the answer. This is not one of those rhetorical questions. My question is what has changed. Because if what has changed is. That the people. Of this country are are more seemingly behind. The these various movements of there's factions and all that, but in general it's about. A police. Justice Social Justice Right. It's the idea that. America in America. Everyone deserves a fair shake. No one deserves. To be treated poorly I mean that's been the ideal obviously as a country to go back to seventeen seventy six look at the declaration of Independence Look at the reality on the ground. Lot of contradictions there. I think that most people would say they're still contradictions today. and. My question is what has changed from a couple years ago with capper nick to now. Because, it strikes me that if the commissioner would say well, you know this. These recent situations are just so different than the past. You know I finally. Get it now. Sake doesn't seem right. And I don't think it meaning I. Don't think there's anything that should be. Any more particularly obvious now than was the case. A couple years ago and capture. Nick was saying it. Is this simply a matter? I'm not saying it is. But is this simply a matter of? Hey. We're putting our fingers. It's the NFL now to the wind. And we have a more conservative fan base. And that's just the fact. If you look on the political spectrum of NFL, fans versus, NBA fans. The. NFL fans are more conservative. That's why the idea of. President trump saying hey, would about and that was the follow up right so commissioner. Had some strong supportive statements for the movement. And President Trump said You didn't mention the national anthem how you know. How supportive are you going to be of that? Now has there been an update on that today. Have you seen John? It's in response to the president. Then no, there's no update from the NFL that I've seen, but the speculation is that. Y- what president trump was getting at is, could this possibly mean that? People are going to be kneeling for the anthem? That's all that I've seen. Yeah! Yeah, and because that is the wedge issue because. I think it's a wedge issue in this, because if you ask people and again, people respond to certain way versus their true hearts. Tartu now. But. I think that if you ask, most people should. Someone who's not violent be? Strang? A fifty aided on the street. Faster joys against say no. Vast vast majority. No, that's wrong. That's the easy part like getting that agreements. Easy part what to do to get us from where we are to where we as a country WANNA be. That's not as easy. And one of the thin or not as obvious. One of the thing and probably not easy either. One of the things. That I. Think can complicate things is if you think back drew brees. It wasn't just a couple of days ago. It wasn't years ago. It was a couple of days ago. That brees. Said what he said about the flag how he's not going to disrespect it. Couple of days later he is. Really an moshing like the president on with the true meaning of this movement is. I seems hard to imagine the drew brees being gained a massive amount of insight. I think that you know this is something. Multiple black players on TV former players have talked about that in the locker rooms during the capper nick. Protests. There was a lot of discussion about this. Because each individual player was China decide. What am I gonNA? Do Support do this. steelers have their left tackle. Who was? At the time I think still is. Former or veteran and you know now we gotta then now. How do we balance respect? It was a debate now. People disagree with where they landed the NFL at that time. And the NFL seems to feel like that. They really had a financial cost around the that whoever they offended. It affected the bottom line. I think that was my perception. That's why they were pretty. Recoun- and. On ending it of saying, we got to stop this. and eventually kind of faded. And a lot of people take capper. Nick doesn't have a job or at least hasn't had a job. Not because he's not one of the sixty four best quarterbacks..

"See Snow June seventh I'm over it. No but does not not in summer, not in some good to see again. That's it. So it was a big weekend for the NFL no games, no practices, but it was a big weekend and Roger Goodell came out and did the right thing, and I'll get to that in a second, but here's Roger Goodell I imagine somewhere in the basement of his house, saying I'm now going to align with the players. Here's the NFL Commissioner. We the National Football League condemn racism in the systematic oppression of black people. We the national fully emit. We were wrong for not listening to NFL players earlier. And encourage all speak out in peacefully grotesque. Read the National Football. Aleve, lack lives matter. By the way, many owners did not know Roger Goodell was going to do that. He did and should have and here's why. But the last several years, three or four Colin Kaepernick took a knee. There's been this walking on eggshells. Thing with NFL and trump's twitter account and players Eric Reed Malcolm, Jenkins, and other players talking about protests, and it's walking on eggshells and the networks that broadcast games. This one included. Everybody is just hoping this doesn't happen in. That doesn't happen I. Just don't think it's a healthy relationship. Finally. Roger Goodell took the power away from Donald, trump's twitter account and said. Turn my partners. I'm splitting revenue with them. I love these players I have relationships with these players. I'M NOT GONNA. Let anybody divide us. I'm on the players side. I on their side. We have a president who's brand is division. It's over. He'll be gone in November, he will. And he can divide people on his twitter account Roger Goodell, said no time out. I'M GONNA WALK ON EGGSHELLS? It's the right thing to do for humanity. It's the right thing to do with my business partners, and frankly it's just the right thing to do. Support the players. I don't know exactly what the NFL player owners split is, but owners make more, but players make over forty forty five percent of the revenues. I believe sorry, if I'm wrong, probably should have looked at up, but if you're a business with people and their valuable and you like them. And and this fear based stuff that well. If the players protest, they don't WanNa blow the League up. It's their industry. It's generational money. The NFL players. Don't want to blow the League up. They just want to be heard. And you know here's the thing it. It's easy. I mean twitter makes a living out of this Gotcha. You said this six years ago. You said this nine years ago. You said this nine months ago. I'm over that if you want growth. And Roger Goodell showed growth. It's very hard to demand perfection. Derek jeter didn't wake up hitting three hundred. He struck out a lot. And that's sports. We're talking race in human beings and social justice, these are delicate topics, and it takes not. Everybody learns at the same speed. Bill Maher said THIS BILL MAHER HBO. He's one of those crazy old liberals. He actually said. During Michael Salmon Michael Sam got drafted again. F. L. Player and kissed his partner and everybody freaked out and bill. Maher said not everybody learns at the same time. It's OK of one or two fans were a little shocked. They'd never seen. It had to take a deep breath, and then can respond. Never forget one of my favorite president of all time I've always told people. My favorite presidents are Reagan and Obama. Nobody can figure out why and for different reasons I like their leadership abilities, but Obama's first term as president and I think he's one of the smartest president we've ever had. He was opposed to gay marriage, and at the time I remember thinking smart guy bad take. And then he listened and learned, and that's how growth happens. Is that you you don't hear enough angles? You don't listen well enough about Roger Goodell and he's been criticized for years as a commissioner. And I keep saying this, he's not stubborn. He's not rigid. He's always been willing to the rules the television business. He listens to players. Too much of this stuff that's going on in America is fear based I've been watching CNN I'm old enough. You and Watson at twenty years I've been watching it thirty years. We're having a revolution in this country. Other countries. I've watched CNN for thirty years on revolutions. They don't look like ours. Ninety nine percent archer peaceful protests be honest with you ninety nine point nine percent. Of protests for our. Revolution has been peaceful. I watch, CNN. It's not always like that. There's too much fear out here. I was talking to my daughter about this. I mean really for the entire weekend with my family. It's not called only black lives matter. It's black lives matter. Your partners in this amazing sport of the NFL just asking, we listened to us. Will you hear us? Were partners? We're not looking to end the league. Just improve it. And Roger Goodell as he's done many times he gets a lot of criticism sat down and went. Players are right. I was wrong. Just because you're over, fifty doesn't mean you can't grow. I mean Gregg Popovich I think he has a military background in his seventies. He's constantly evolving. It's Okay I. Don't know when this became a weakness. I don't know when we became so partisan. That stubborn was smarter than evolving I don't get it. It's not my DNA. It's just not the way I'm built. I have stronger and different opinions today on subjects from just two years ago I'm talking about a couple of subjects today that I just I see the world differently. Some people are never going to get it. They're not curious. They don't WanNa read. They put their feet. They burrow in, and they're not gonNA. Move, but here here for Roger Goodell the only thing I would warn is that you don't get growth without some mistakes. You GotTa Stumble. Often to get to the right place, the NFL did and I thought it was a great leak, and actually for America with a peaceful protests kind of blown away by it, and it was a great weekend for the NFL. They took the power out of trump. I WANNA work with my players. These are my guys. These are the guys on Sunday. I'm going to battle with and I'm supporting..

Youngest player ever to win both regular season and Super Bowl MVP overall black quarterbacks set combined single season records for starts, wins passing yards and touchdowns I. I'm delighted to bring not only Dominique back into the conversation, but senior NFL writer from the undefeated Jason Reid is back with US chasing good morning, and you've been at the head of the discussion of the year of the black quarterback in twenty, one thousand nine hundred, so now as we look at it in the context of what has happened over the last few weeks. What was the impact of having both Patrick? Mahomes and Shawn Watson involved in that video from the players last week. Green you as enormous. We all know that this a quarterback Lee and ask mahomes into Shawn. Watson or to the brightest young stars in this game, and quarterbacks are the most protected class in this league, and they dominate the discussion in this league in the face of this league, so with both of those young men when they attached to that video project and gave a commitment they were going to do that. It fundamentally changed the discussion in the NFL corridors of power, because you could not be opposed to what these young stars! These guys who are GonNa make these owners a lot of money over the next decade fifteen years. It just fundamentally changed the conversation dominate. Yeah, I do think that the quarterback is a different animal in this league, and they matter more than anybody else as reluctant as I am to admit that as a defensive back the quarterbacks and moved the needle, no-one tunes in to watch defense players, or really that many offensive players to the numbers change when quarterback show up the jerseys that are bought a quarterback, so when the most prominent quarterbacks are black and outspoken, and even the black quarterbacks who weren't in a video. Many of them have been outspoken on social media about these issues. When they have an opinion, it matters more and I think that the owners. Owners in the League have to listen when the quarterbacks feels something because they are the the class. They're the stars, so if you think of this as a television property, those are the leading men. There's a reason why people tune in to see those guys so I'm happy to see them taking their power and using it this way, and it's it's nice to see. The NFL is responding to it, but I think more is expected. Jason I'd be curious to get your perspective on a conversation. We had at the beginning of this hour. The most prominent players in the NFL to the point of this discussion have now. Loudly here we've heard the league office from the very top of it Roger. Goodell has spoken loudly here. Many players coaches team executives. We have not heard from individual NFL owners hardly at tall. Where do you expect that to go? Well I do think that's an accumbens. Let's remember that Roger Goodell is a very intelligent person I. Mean I? You know no matter what people think about. His leadership and things occurred. He is, he is no dummy. He would not go out and put a video. That politically is gonNA. Bring a firestorm on the league. That is going to do things that would make him have to answer to his bosses if he had not already. Already, answered to his bosses. Don't for one second thing that Roger Goodell did not consult with the people he needed to consult with. Because there's this tidal wave that's occurring in this country right now with regard to this reckoning we're having on race. And Roger Goodell understood, and he told his bosses and I'm sure in this part of the smart apartment. The conversations work. We have to get ahead of this because this is coming dominate. Too late too late to get ahead of it. They've been behind it for quite some time, so they have to catch up, so I do think that I'd also wanted to point out when you're talking about the year. Two Black quarterback at the number one overall pick Kyle Murray and probably. Front for the MVP seasons another black quarterback. I do think that the idea that the power comes from them, and they're going to speak. People will listen, but I don't know that I understand in respect to report and Jason. I'm sure that he checked with the with the owners that he needed to, but I'm not sure that he needs to. At this point. They have no real power over Roger Goodell at this point if this is something that he feels strongly. Strongly about because I know that he wanted to get the last CBA out of the way before he had planned to Kinda. Ride off into the sunset and I think Roger's into position because I don't know if your support your reporting, suggest this, but everyone that I've talked to suggest that Roger is has been on the right side of most of these race issues. He just hasn't felt that. He had the latitude to speak out and now if he's done. He's in what is probably his last contract. What power do they have over him? If he feels like he needs to speak out and say something more aggressive than I think that bodes well for him and his legacy going forward, so I'm not so sure that he is as intimidated by the the people who run the League as as he might have been in the past hasten Greek Greek and respondent I. Just Real Quick I would say and let me let me clarify what I'm saying. Fox and I don't know if I did a very good job of that when I say, he checked them Raj Rogers purpose his job. Job is to make money for his owners so when I say that you know he his position on this was not in terms of accounting, cowering or fearful thing, but he's doing what he thinks is in the best interest leaks I think he he based on our point, he did check with appropriate people in need to and furthermore when I talk about getting ahead of this thing you actually right. They've been on the wrong end overall, but when I say get ahead. I'm talking about the storm. That's coming the season. The the corona virus pandemic outs disproportionately affected. Black People Joe George Floyd situation at a myriad of other issues. These players are going to protest this year. So the title wave he had to get ahead of his. There's nothing in the says they can't protest. This was going to come, so that's what he was trying to get ahead. Dominic have fifteen seconds to finish it up. Absolutely I. think that you're right, but it's interesting because his job is to make money for them. Feels like right now. The right thing to do to make money for them is to take the position that he took and maybe take a more stance, so I think that you're right. I'm not disagreeing with you at all. He's doing what's best for the money right now. I'm suggesting that maybe he needs to step out and do what's best for society, and probably was best for his legacy, and take a more strident stance and call on some of the owners individually to step out and do the same thing, Nick, thank you, Jason Good. Good to see you again. It's good pleasure and we'll see you again soon. Meanwhile, let everybody know that is the.

"That and more as we get up with you in this hour, it starts with this. This in a video posted to twitter on Friday night NFL. Commissioner Roger Goodell admitted the League was wrong. And how it dealt with player, protests, police, brutality and systemic racism. Over the past few years, the video came in response to a series of requests, but forth by more than a dozen star players in a video message to the NFL. Here was more from Goodell's response. We the National Football League condemn racism in the system aggression of black people. We the National Football League emit. We were wrong for not listening to NFL players earlier. And encouraged speak out in peacefully protest. Read the National Football League leave black lives matter. I personally protest with. And want to be part of the much-needed change in this country. Without black players, there would be no national fully. And the protests around the country emblematic of the centuries of silence, inequality, oppression of black players, coaches, fans and staff. We are listening I. AM listening. And I will be reaching out to players who have raised their voices and others in how we can improve and go forward or better and more united, and if felt family. That was Friday early evening? Later that night drew brees responded to being called out in a way by president, trump and instagram. This is what he wrote through my ongoing conversations with friends, teammates and leaders in the black community I realized. This is not an issue about the American flag. It has never been. We could no longer use the flag to turn people away or distract them from the real issues that face our black communities. We did this back in two thousand seventeen, and regretfully I brought it back with my comments this week we must stop talking about the flag and shift our attention to the real issues of systemic racial justice. Oppression police, brutality and judicial and prison reform. We are at a critical juncture in our nation's history, if not now then win. As the we can continue the Saints Malcolm Jenkins and many other players and coaches across the NFL took part in many protests among them were broncos head coach Vic Fangio himself had made controversial comments last week. He joined his players while Falcons head coach Dan Quinn also.

"The National Football League Leaf Mike Lives matter. Commissioner goodell statement follows a video from NFL players last night, calling on him to say precisely that joining us now is seen in sports. Analysts in USA Today a Communist Christine Brennan Christine I of. How did this come about I mean do we know was? Was goodell feeling pressure from players, fans, owners, or is he just sensing a change in the country? I think it's more the latter Anderson Sensing the change. We are hearing that he was not pressured by the Donald Trump. Statement earlier that he didn't feel the need to react. When Donald Trump of course was saying positive things about drew brees, so it wasn't that Certainly, this has been four years in the making, so it wasn't exactly a rush job. In the sense that Colin Kaepernick was speaking out in August of two thousand sixteen, and of course here we are now. I do think I've known Roger. Goodell for a long time Anderson we grew up together he on the PR side, and the as a journalist and I. do think that these are things that he cares about and I. I know a lot of people criticize him all the time, but I can see him watching what's going on listening to his players? He said in that statement he said if there are no black players, there's no national football league. He knows that and he means it and I would have loved to see him. Apologize Colin Kaepernick. I would've loved to see him. Say something about Cabernet, but maybe that's for another day, but I do think the NFL has gone out here in a big way, and I am sure one of their biggest fans donald trump is not happy about this today. Would the owners had to agree to Goodell saying this? The owners usually agree of or android. Goodell does what the owners want. That is a great question. I have not yet been able to get the answer to that. As you probably know many of your personnel that at least ten NFL owners have given to Donald. Trump's campaign. They are big big. Donald Trump supporters including Jerry Jones with the cowboys Dan. Snyder here in Washington and I'm going to guess at some of them are not entirely pleased about this, either because there trump guys and they have not signed Cabernet obviously, no one has and they definitely. The they've put their money right where there is with with trump so. Now. You've got Roger Goodell going against the wishes of Donald. Trump that is a fact I think that Roger Goodell is sensing the mood of the nation and I think he's certainly with the majority of the nation and something that should be said. Young Fans Anderson are big fans. Of Cabernet. They bought all those Nike Jerseys a Nike. T shirts a couple of years ago with cabinet campaign in two thousand eighteen, that was so successful marketing campaign with Nike and so for your future fan base. This is a very very positive. Move me not for the older people, but those fans are going to be around for the next fifty years buying season tickets. I think. Roger Goodell. I WanNa bring in Benjamin, watching former NFL player, and I believe He's the author of under our skin, getting real about racing, getting free from the fears and frustrations that divide us. Benjamin I! Mean you wrote about this in in a under our skin. I'm wondering how you what you make. Roger Goodell statement. About them, we all have certain reactions, but whether he is sincere, or or if he's sincere, I think great good can come from this, and you listen to what he said we the NFL condemns racism. The systematic oppression of black people the next step. is to start addressing within the NFL. So this is a good thing. This is a great knowledge. Moment and I agreed that I do think Roger Goodell cares about these issues. But we look internally into the NFL and we just watched the NFL draft. We saw on our screens where there what gird many blacks and sea level positions. We know that there aren't many many minorities much less black people in ownership. There's three head. Coaches are black. How do we address those issues in the NFL? That's where the proof comes. That's where the action comes is by addressing the nepotism problem that I believe is still exists in the NFL desperate. We can kind of take this statement. Great Statement. We imply whether it was a pressure of players, which again I applaud our players from leading this now let's go to the next step and action. Let's see the proof when we look at NFL clubs now moving forward and Benjamin, your former teammate drew brees obviously had controversy this week when he said he'd never agree with NFL. Players who knelt during the national anthem. He's since apologized for saying that. Do you accept that apology? Of course of course I know drew is no secret play with do for several years led him and his family. I think that we have to collectively understand that when someone says something that they didn't mean something, no misinterpreted and they apologize. We forget that we move on. Do, said perfectly in a statement that he is going to with his actions through feels I. Think the biggest thing though is. He said he's going to listen. And that's the same thing you hurt Roger Goodell say. I'm going to listen look. We live in a country where we can have a multitude of different perspectives, if drew doesn't with people kneeling for the flag. That's fine what he does have to. Do is understand the plight of others understand the pain of others and be willing to step into their shoes and say you know what I may not agree with that I mean I understand that, but because I love you. Because I love your humanity, I'm willing to listen to where you're coming from and I know the on a shot of ago. Christine it's interesting because when when this was being discussed. When with Colin Kaepernick and others, there were a lot of fans who seem to not appreciate the idea of players taking a knee. Certainly, the president did and It seemed like the pendulum. See when once you know. Game started again and Games are being played. It seems like a lot of the owners backtracked.

"I hate to be so cynical that it's just about money. But you know, I think that is that is a huge part of it because you're absolutely right. When you think about the the way game. Designed and what they're there to do. And and the themes of games, it doesn't align with anything that the NCWA. I would think would wanna push out for themselves. Right. So how do they make it a line for them? All they make it a line for them. If it lines it aligns if it lines their pocketbooks. Well, thank you very much. Like I said at the beginning. And I I'm already worried to even check mementos because this is not my wheelhouse. And there's so much to get into that. We probably haven't even thought of about the about like the many things that that are at play here. I just think it's interesting to to hear someone like Emmer speak on it. And maybe not consider how what he says. We'll be carried over to other sports. And that's the consistent problem that the NC double is gonna face. This is a very tenuous deal. They've got working right now that allows them to make a ton of money off of unpaid athletes and continue to push this student athlete amateur thing, and it's gonna get harder and harder to keep up as more and more money is being made not just by these sports, but in life right people able to make money in so many weird unusual ways that didn't exist before a now continuing to hold back athletes from doing that even in ways unrelated to their sport is going to get tougher on particularly as we see. And you always bring this up someone. Like, no one's worried about Justin Bieber getting an education. Right. If you know, we don't worry about musicians or or anybody else doing their thing at a young age and making money and profiting off of it or Instagram influencers or any other random job that didn't really exist before. Right. So it's getting tougher and tougher to keep up the guys that this is, you know, the best way to do things and adding and other elements like this is going to make it I think even harder for them. An interesting note, the according to Michael Brooke see executive director of the national association of collegiate east boards, the number of postsecondary institutions offering Eastport scholarships has grown almost five times in the last year. So it it is it is absolutely growing at an alarming rate. I it's it's going to be here. And it's part of the future of sports, and it's part of the future of gaming. I just don't know. Exactly. What part of all of it? It is with the NC double A straight ahead Vegas is getting ready for the Super Bowl. We're going to go behind the curtain next. Spain and Fitz hanging out. On ESPN radio and is always the ESPN app. Obviously throughout the course of the night. We have talked a lot about Hardin a lot about Roger Goodell. That's a this. Interesting. Little nugget just came across from the NC double A. And it's about something. That's a controversial for a lot of people, Sarah e gaming, and and there's this movement of trying to figure out east sports, I should say with these boards where they belong in college campus where they belong in college environment. Several colleges now have started clubs that are competing against each other. But it's not sanctioned by the NC, double A and the answer. Bolaise doesn't seem to really have a lot of interest in it and the president of the NC double A, Mark. Emmett has spoken out on it. Part of the quote of note, we may have an opportunity in front of us to apply valued east boards, better align, those games to our values to change not just what happens in our activities. But what happens across your campuses and more broadly? What happens in society, we don't want to ever change our values to fit a game or some other entity. We want to change. Entity to fit our values. He's talking about essentially a couple of things noted in the article, the misogynistic nature, the male dominated sport of east. We want to call it that for east sports. And and also the violence that's in it. So it's interesting that the incident as having to come out, and sort of defend their position on not embracing east sports, but it's not a total surprise to me. Yeah..
