Fresh update on "gonzaga" discussed on Courtside with Seth Greenberg
"More wide open. They're going to get up and down the floor a little bit more. I mean, one of the things I've enjoyed most about Gonzaga over the years, you know, we've all talked to Mark few a million times. And, you know, I would always ask you about the way he plays and he would always say, we're going to play a style that I want to watch. And I don't want to watch us pound it into the deck for 35 seconds and then throw up a shot. And so I want to play fast and passive cut and watch the ball move. And Tommy's the same way, because they came up with that stuff together. That wasn't just few. It was a lot of Tommy Lloyd's influence too. I can Christmas parents didn't name his wisely, Chris. It should have been bellis Chris. Yeah. And that is that, yeah, that is a nice ring to it. But it was too close to and to Bella's family thought about that too. Go with Phyllis de Bellas. I like that would have been. I think of how beautiful that would have been and what a better player he would be. And as soon as this is a good player now, he's going to be really good. He's a very good. You got to get just to care also transfer Georgia by the way, George basin another guy who makes chess I get a lot of shop makers. Yeah. I mean, you know, just a, I mean, just Tommy Lawrence, he's going to definitely without a doubt at some point during the course of a timeout. He's going to call one of those guys by the wrong names. And the other thing is he won't wear a tie. He will not have a time. Now that's a news flash because big east voted no ties ACC voted no ties. I think across the country, ties are out. I didn't know that. So they took votes on whether to wear cravats. Wow. Yep. Yep. My God. The ferragamo company is going to go shoot way down. I'm still on. I'm shorting, I'm shorting the tie industry. It's way down. I'll tell you one thing. I mean, and interesting when I found that out, I had to ask, you know, delve into very, very difficult question for Jay Wright, and he was all for it. Well, well, I mean, but Disney issue, though, I mean, the Thai thing is awesome. I'm glad to hear that because although with some of these old dudes, I'm not sure I want to look at any of our necks anymore. But why can't they just vote on wearing last year? Like go with the half zips and the golf shirts. That's what they're doing. So it's not just a coat and no tie. So they're going, they're going cash. Total cash. And a somber note, Jay writes Taylor and it is had passed this past year. Yeah, and he actually says, you know, he feels good kind of as a tribute to nice. His guy that he's happy that they've done this, which is, you know, typical J, you know, let's go. So to get use out of all those suits, is he wearing them dirt? Is Jay right ward of during practice? No, but that's the other thing about Jerry. They have the nicer gear in the history of college basketball. They have like that, you know, you know, helmets are big, the changing of helmets and football uniforms are big. Let me tell you something. The villain of gear and they don't over equipment from I don't know what their budget is. I have two national championship probably whatever they need. I mean, I've never seen I've never seen more gear in my life. I mean, it's the craziest thing in the world. Very, very well dressed practice. You're sweating your ass off. Right. I had a well, that's probably why I'm sitting talking to you guys, but I had like a free pullover. I had three sets of them Jay, but I wore the same thing every day. So how much melanoma gear did you walk out with? That's the key question. I did it, but there are quick room because of Jackie G occasionally drops a box off. You know what? I went around all these places, nothing at Memphis, not in a Kentucky, nothing at all. Nothing at Villanova. Nothing at Alabama. Nothing at all burned. You know, I mean, it's unbelievable. I just the only thing I walked out with is tremendous knowledge. Well, how about how about you gotta tell us about your visit with Nick Saban when you went to Alabama? I was petrified. This true story. And in my lifetime, just being flat just nervous, I was head coach at Long Beach state and Pat Riley came to watch Brian Russell lucius Harris. And I can tell you after he kind of came over and wanted to talk. I don't know what I mumbled, but, you know, it was a conversation that literally made no sense. I was sitting there watching practice like I vote on that goodness I wore dark sweats that day was a little nerve wracking. And the second time, Nick Saban to me is the standard. And, you know, the interesting thing about me, was Cochrane was.
Fresh "Gonzaga" from Courtside with Seth Greenberg
"And energy kind of guy. And I think that I think he's the perfect guy. If they were to make a change, I think Tommy Lawrence like the perfect guy to be able to take Arizona in a new direction with positive energy, encouraging, get challenging his kids. And I think you're exactly right Seth. I think they're definitely an NCAA tournament team. I've been to my top 5 in the back 12. Yeah, Tommy Lloyd was a great call for Arizona and it was a great call for him to leave Gonzaga and not go within the West Coast conference like so many other sort of Gonzaga assistants have done, which is a great way to get fired because you have to go against Gonzaga all the time. Be compared to him. You know, Seth you mentioned per kreese who is from Estonia and was actually named after Steve Kerr without knowing the Arizona connections, parents named him at, you know, basically after Steve Kerr. But he's really competitive and can really shoot it. And so having a guy that can shoot at Dale and Terry is another guy with that team that with his length and athleticism and another year of experience, I think Tommy Lloyd has some pieces he can do some things with. And he's creative offensively. So they're going to be a little more wide open. They're going to get up and down the floor a little bit more. I mean, one of the things I've enjoyed most about Gonzaga over the years, you know, we've all talked to Mark few a million times. And, you know, I would always.

Seattle Mariners Pitcher Hector Santiago Suspended 80 Games
"Game Major league baseball suspension. Seattle lefty reliever Hector Santiago. Testing positive four extra genius. Testosterone. Yeah, he's the same ballplayer who just served a 10 game suspension for having illegal foreign substance on his glove. The Mariners are off tonight. They opened a series tomorrow in Texas. Gonzaga freshman
Tommy Lloyd Is the Next Coach at Arizona
"Matt. Norlander is here with me in. Arizona has found shaun miller's replacement deadline when we talked about this after shawn miller was fired. We went through a list of candidates. And i think we sort of settled on the end of the day. I think it's going to be a gonzaga associate head coach. Tommy lloyd or former arizona star current pacific head coach damon stoudamire fast forward to today. It is tommy lloyd. He is leaving gonzaga. He will be the next head coach of the wildcats. Your thoughts. yeah. We have a listen. We have a long time coach in waiting for program legend. Who's been there decades deciding to leave and and and take a job in the pac twelve and It's mike hopkins all over can don't just kidding. But the parallels are actually there will credit an unnamed person. We both know who who made that to made. That comparison this i think is a pretty good higher now. This has been buzzed about. Since before shawn miller got fired. I have talked to a couple of people out for your. Oh quick i get your thoughts on it. There are a couple of people i've talked to. Who will never be not convinced. That tommy lloyd was approached about this like a month ago and basically said we want you to be the next coach in gonna fire shawn miller. I'm not saying that happened. I'm telling you there are people that believe this and this has been wired for a long time now. There were a couple of days here the past couple of days where the search kind of went on a not a pause but they topped the brakes through more interviews. That happened on tuesday. And they did legitimately interview miles. Simon damon stoudamire. Jason terry josh passenger. All these people were interviewed. There's a belief that eric muscleman whose doors to get himself his own new contract which if true or not. I don't think he needed arizona to get paid the way he got paid. But good on him. So

"I was actually outside of the bubble in. I had a rental car. And i was doing grocery runs During liberty laundry near and they are kinda again. Smoothies you for the guys. So out of the bubble was it was fun because network can walk around india. I was still being save. I was still not only just doing. I was doing school honestly So i was busy doing that. Stuff but Going game awesome my first march madness of my college career. Yes i was in. I was in the in the that we had fans. Just see my guys just on the court so it was hard not seeing them for a while. We text back and forth based on a once in a while is weird as we were in the hotel right next to them so it was like we're less than four hundred feet away game and see them but it was cool it was. I wish i could have been the bubble and like his what it is. But after like the venue onto the bubble during the manager. stuff. And i'm going to daikin's sacrifice when i need to be part of this team. I think that was just a a cool experience. Because i got to these coaches the coaches wise coach families. i meant shawn barnum. I meant the toronto raptors in maasai. I met a bunch of random people who just kind of like indy. It's march madness so It was cool kind during the network in that sense. Be there in the moment. honestly and the best. The best trip Ucla game or for everyone. But that was probably the coolest thing i've ever experienced my entire life. I would definitely gonna get to that. I don't wanna keep our audience in suspense for to could of course skip ahead will protect. That's not possible because one thing you did mention right of course your schoolwork and something complete neglected and i apologize to gonzaga office of admissions Academic whatever it might be. I'm curious by because obviously be manager is is basically a second time job of being a student has one the managers a whole other thing because of all the responsibilities you have. Can you talk a little bit of how you may be balanced. Maybe right weights School obviously a and be a manager on was Get tom how you know. In terms of traveling there's so many things to kind of get join to win in terms of how cash strenuous that was but of course able to get through an end to end do great on both ends both as a manager as a student. I appreciate Freshman year top because this score is not easy like it's a private school Only about seven thousand. Eight thousand undergrad. it's our ivy league type but it's definitely with the marquette's georgetown's whenever the jesuit schools is not easy in freshman year was talk a lot of of core classmates besides english writing or is it And it was hard. Because i went to college. Prep school in high school on Houston sorry. I was used to the hard cricket one not religious different being on your own. You use your school your practice in then homework and then you go to bed here..

Obviously there's a lot of passionate like we said that goes into twenty become manager. I'm curious maybe when you when you were in high school. What did that look like for you and say okay. You know when. I go to gonzaga and i'm a freshman there. I want try to manager. I'm curious that process like for you. Yeah that's that's the that's the the history that is just kinda Been thinking about lately. And i won't be a manager. I wanted to be a walk on wanting to play basketball I looked at school Up in iowa for d. three. It was just out in the sticks. I didn't really. I was going to be big enough space to exceed um and then i looked at oklahoma tennessee in zags and i went in never coach. Barnes member coach krueger asked him to be manager or walk on. They said they never know spots at the moment. And then i came here. And i actually one of my friends or you stay there allston. Who might go first round. Hopefully this year he knew the are is the coach. Leon rice news wanna coaches year. Because he used to work here and he just kinda hey during spots for him and stop the grace of god He gave me a spot here. I came here for like a freshman orientation weekend in april of my Senior year. And i met at the do for five minutes and he He gave his job in that. I worked summer camps and he's actually the john jacobs he actually moved from here to the dean. That'd be is in the natty of baylor so it was kinda interesting. The thing that my boss army at first beaming national championship will probably get into them more. But yeah it's it's been lessening..
"gonzaga" Discussed on Bob Ryan & Jeff Goodman NBA Podcast
"Going to be exclusively a college Edition of life of the Iranian government podcast with the final four with the National Championship in the books and Bob if you can't tell I'm wearing a Baylor Bears sweatshirt here in honor of the best team in the country this year the elevators, but I'll get to it for example or not. For example, are you one of the people who believe that there were certain a a major favorite major Contender last year that they we could be talking about 2 in a row a and be absent the 7th was at 17 days absent the bulb the Hiatus might we be talking about them being the first team since 1976 to a run the table. Absolutely. I mean listen, I remember the first time I saw this team This kind of core group in person was a year ago November in Myrtle Beach and maybe Stella Nova and I fell on it wasn't exact same team. Obviously Adam flag. What year was it was? You know that some new pieces, but the core was the same of Jerry Butler Macio Teague marked vital and I remember telling Scott drew a home game. I thought he had something special here and that was early on that was back, you know right after Thanksgiving and I picked him to win it all this year. I picked him before the season. I picked him before the tournament wage. I just felt their guards were so dominant pump and they had four of them and they complement each other very, well. They moved the ball. They're very unselfish not the Gonzaga is but I just felt like their guards as a group. We're better than gonzaga's guards and Jalen Suggs was never going to see anything like Davion Mitchell. He had never seen anything like that before and that dude off. Listen, you love Marcus Smart. If you love Marcus Smart, you have to absolutely be in love with Davion Mitchell know it gets your attention. There's no doubt..
How Baylor Upset Gonzaga
"Deep in the heart of Texas after the regular bears broke the hearts of basketball fans across the Northwest. Is ABC. TJ Holmes. The Baylor Bears champions and spoilers, ruining Gonzaga's hopes of a historic undefeated season and in blowout fashion, dominating the Bulldogs from start to finish. The Baylor Bears the national champions and winning their first title in school history is really like a family like After 30 days in the bubble, we ate together watched movies together. We did everything together, and that's just a really cool thing. I remember that probably more than win the championship. Baylor guard Jared Butler was named most outstanding player after his 22 point performance that included 43 pointers and leading Baylor's beat down of the bulldog. Gonzaga. Enter the championship matchup Undefeated 31. Oh, but was in trouble right out of the gate, going down nine to nothing in the opening minutes with After surviving last rounds late game thriller, Gonzaga was hoping for more magic and a comeback. It's really really tough wand. And storybook season on and obviously we're all disappointed in here. But, you know, as I told the guys like you make it this far in your 31. I know going into the last one. There's absolutely nothing you should ever feel bad about. But Jalen subs in the Bulldogs never recovered from Baylor's devastating opening blow. The city of Waco deserves this Texas way. Got a national championship to the state deserves it. Guys get this the last three teams that were in the tournament undefeated and went to The final four they lost in the final four that was being held in Indianapolis.
Butler Boosts the Baylor Bears To Beat the Houston Rockets
"Were your thoughts on Thursday our Houston before we move into the big one that before the bad guy. I think that Davion Mitchell is such an annoying Defender. I mean that and the highest respect regard he he just forced his players into badge. Even when they make it and one of the announcement a game in that the first Final Four game said don't take it personally and it's so true. He had backpacks were steals. He reached in his slit its feet and cut his manage charges flops. You don't know what you're really going to get out of those guys offensively one of these players that Jean gerow was writing some hot streak for Houston into the tournament back to spike the score a little bit and then you look at the box score. He's three for 10 with six points and five turnovers. Those are the type of games that they be on Mitchell can force you into having agreed with you how good he was was offensively zero turnovers against a team in Houston that wants to speed you up and make bad decisions is semi incredible and the game really was over by halftime and it was just how much can this deficit be cut into and there is no looking back. Jerry Butler was great 17.6 of nine shooting for free from 3 a guy that just never seems really sped up even wage. Trapped he was under control. He was composed and without Marcus after having 17 points in the first half that game could have been way worse, which is crazy to say.
Underrated Baylor Wins NCAA Title
"We're talking gonzaga. The aftermath we talked about baylor and baylor being underrated. Quite frankly if you look at baylor and take out the games after their covert pause and he's are games that were played from february twenty four to march eighteenth they were two and six against the spread and the other games eighteen and four baylor against the spread. In fact you dug into those games. It's even more impressive. Eighteen and four against spread and also in those twenty two games yet. Twenty two straight up in those game. I think that means zero percent losses. Right yes and not even not one game that they had any reasonable chance to lose. What every one of the games by eight points or more. These include winds not just in the ncaa tournament but they beat illinois. Whose when you keep saying they baylor maybe mentioned the team in k. or beat illinois early in the year by eight or more they mean day. Yes okay go ahead. They bears and so just alter impressive to win every single game. Baylor by eight plus points
Baylor Bears Are NCAA Champs
"Myron joe. It is one fifty three a. m. eastern time. Where are you right now. I'm in like this abandoned clubhouse thing lucas oil stadium. Like i don't even know if i'm supposed to be here. Myron medcalf covers college basketball for espn and this was his eleventh nc double championship game but it was the one semi quiet place. I could find. I was told by thirty minutes ago that i had like fifteen minutes that all of us kind of had to clear out but hopefully they don't kick me out so you are hidden away in a corner of this football stadium that housed this absurd tournament. And look you've been to. I think ten of these championships before this one. You're not impressed very easily. How would you describe what you saw out on that court tonight. I just think from the start to the finish. It was just a very dominant performance in to me. The only thing. I can think of being boxing fan i am. It's sort of like watching mike. Tyson lose the buster douglas. Now baylor is in buster douglas. But just the sight of someone that he thought was maybe invincible. Losing because gonzaga never had a chance. Taylor was better everywhere. It was clear in the first couple of minutes that unless gonzaga had a miracle. They weren't going to be able to beat this baylor team so it was just stunning to see gonzaga. Not just lose but get dominated like
Baylor beatdown: Bears win title, hang 86-70 loss on Gonzaga
"Baylor claimed its first national title with a dominating eighty six to seventy performance against previously unbeaten Gonzaga the bears got off to a quick nineteen point lead and never looked back going up by twenty in the second half they had a thirty eight to twenty two rebounding advantage including sixteen offensive boards Jarrad Butler led the champs with twenty two points is this electrifying session at our moment in a big game you know and and everybody stepped up like everybody was you know on and on and click in Austin cylinders like that's that's what it takes to win how good was Baylor in the tournament the bears won six games by an average margin of fifteen points and finish the season twenty eight and two Tom McCabe Indianapolis
Baylor Men’s Basketball bringing home trophy to Texas

Baylor Takes NCAA Men's Tournament Title With Win Over Gonzaga
"While while while the title game of the two thousand twenty one ncaa tournament. It was played monday night inside. Lucas oil stadium downtown indianapolis. It was a beatdown. I can't imagine many people coming final score. Baylor eighty six gonzaga seventy total domination from start to finish baylor opened on a nine zero run lead by double digits barely. Four minutes in led by twenty with a little more than ten minutes to go. Gonzaga never got closer the nine points in the second half. It was a blowout in every possible way. So scott drew's bears. Are the two thousand twenty one. National champion shouts to bill. Henderson shells to jared butler's family. Just terry
Baylor Beats Gonzaga for the National Championship
"Have never in my life been for a game so anticipated. Been just sitting here. Like i cannot believe this is happening and even even as all the talk in the second half is like all right. Uh-huh gonzaga tonight. I honestly like never really felt like ever. I said on the show before this season gonzaga. There's so there's a calming presence about that. I said if they're down ten. I think what i said. It was even if they're down ten with like four minutes left. I'm not panicking. Because they just their so calm cool and collected they were not calm at any point in this game. The moment jalen down four. Nothing in jalen suggs picks up the charging foul. They had like a look in their of lake. What you want to and at no point were even when they cut it to nine. I was like great. You cut it to nine. Like i don't see how you're going to. You cannot stop baylor. so that's cool. You cut it tonight and then snap of a finger. It's back to like seventeen that it was as thorough of an asking. I if they play tomorrow it reminded me a loyal illinois like it's technically upset but like at the same time. Play that game tomorrow. Baylor's kicking the. I'm still taking baylor tomorrow. I'm still taking baylor on wednesday. I'm taking baylor on thursday

"In human history by like a factor of ten or the people making the movie forgot like cuz Godzilla and King Kong go big. They just like they fluctuate in size throughout the movie like one minute. They're bigger than a building the next minute. There are standing on aircraft carrier and like how is that possible? They just deployed they fluctuate in size drove me nuts in that movie about a little things. They're like, that's dumb. It was fun though, if I actually movie and Really cheesy though to King Kong versus Godzilla cheesy good but really really really cheesy at times and I watched it though had a decent time. I bet it's really cool in theater seats in theaters my friend Max side. If you can see got calling versus Godzilla in theaters. I bet that would be a much better experience than I had watching on my TV at home on HBO Max Caleb wrote and wrote and said hey Zack. I was very surprised to hear Aaron Rodgers would be hosting Jeopardy for a few shows. I really hope he does. Well, if you could choose his contestants, who would you like them to be able to make it more interesting how the contestants be non-athletes? I've never seen Jeopardy. I don't know how it works. I really I think you have to say like there's a way you answer questions. I think like who is Aaron Rodgers? I think it's how you answers. I don't know. I've never thought I could tell you. Is it really funny? Tom Hanks get about Jeopardy on SNL which I now think that must be at work. You must like answer questions. I think that's all there is to it to Jeopardy but I should do some research. I've never seen an episode to me though. My my instant thought is I want Vikings or Bears fans to be the people that interact with Aaron Rodgers. I want people to like making cuz the Midwest this is not really fun attitude where Bears fans and Vikings fans and Packers fans and lions fans are all they talk smack to each other and it's really fun. Like I would never sit next to a Packers fan cuz they're all idiots. And oh don't let that guy work on your your air conditioning unit cuz he's a Bears fan and those people you can't trust in there's a lot of fun back and forth their way more fun and lighthearted than you'll see in New York were like on the East Coast. They just hate each other. It's on the Midwest is a lot of fun like back and forth. And so I want to see other people that are fans of the Packers or the Bears of the Vikings play, you know on that show dead. I want to see Bears fans interact with Aaron Rodgers. That'd be really really funny. Maybe it'll be like, please come to our team. That would be hilarious. So yeah, that's what I want to see from Jeopardy if Aaron Rodgers going to interact with the general public. I also think it's going to get away for Aaron Rodgers to show like, he's really more likeable than a lot of people think so what it'll be fun there..

"I never would have known that Larry Bird and Magic Johnson had Roots back in college against each other one beating the other in a national championship game. Now again, personally. I'm rooting for Gonzaga. I think it's pretty obvious why they're from my area. I like their coach. I also think, you know aside from Regional Pride which No more that makes any more on that. Honestly be cool to see an undefeated National Champion though. I think that'd be awesome. I really I like that. That's interesting That's Unique. It hasn't happened in a long time. So Gonzaga does run the table and win a National Championship. I think it'd be very very cool to see I can say I saw that in my lifetime, you know, it's a battle Gonzaga Baylor there were supposed to play back on December 5th, but the game got canceled actually at the time Gonzaga was number one Baylor was number two in the nation and would have been the Battle of one and two and Gonzaga had people test positive for covansys the game got canceled. And now we finally get to see the matchup that we missed out on in December and the question really is what Gonzaga still be undefeated said actually had to play that game off on December 5th. I mean Baylor's good. They crushed Houston. You've got a stud guard Davion Mitchell. Who is he's oddly. He's not related to Donovan Mitchell, but he's oddly similar to Donovan Mitchell. He had eleven assists against Houston and they got a guy coming off the bench Matthew Meyer who had 12 points Off the Bench. A lot of people can score on Baylor. I think it's a really interesting matchup Baylor and Gonzaga. I don't know who's going to win Baylor feels very dangerous to me off. I want to fund close game. I'd be very happy if Gonzaga one if Baylor wins, all I ask is they please win a close game? I would be very disappointed feels a blowout no matter who wins actually am I root for close games more than four teams. I think it'd be funny but fun interesting dramatic maybe over time. Maybe your buzzer beater again would be wild but I really really hope it's a close game went to close game. I'll still be very very happy. So I hope you enjoy the National Championship tonight should be a lot of fun and I really meant I just want it to be closed and fun. That's all I'm asking for. Another thing tonight. Aaron Rodgers is going on Jeopardy. I've never watched Jeopardy my entire life never once I think Alex Trebek, I believe was the Jeopardy host. I've heard His Name a lot. I know he passed away recently..

"It was that game was just really really well matched and a fantastic game to watch. So first of all, though Gonzaga is undefeated. They're 31, and no they did win the game in overtime 93-91 affect this game. Like I mentioned close fast back and forth, but I went to overtime and ended on a buzzer-beater. It's an incredible game. And the UCLA game is the most that Gonzaga has been challenged all year. The closest game all year SLR 3rd. Give me the year. They played West Virginia. They won 87-82. Other than that. They haven't even it's the most it's a close game all year by like a ton a ton it blew out most of the teams they played this year. And part of what made UCLA so competitive with Gonzaga was that they had to stud guards. They had Johnny juzang and Jaime jacquez two guards who were really really hard to match up one-on-one off on defense for Gonzaga. That's really really struggled with that matchup jacquez said 19 points Johnny juzang at 29. He's a transfer from Kentucky at UCLA and despite losing I walked away with a lot of respect UCLA like their season what they did. If you look at the final four you have Baylor and Gonzaga both number one seeds from their part of the bracket Houston was a number two seed from their part of the bracket off and UCLA was the 11 seed On their road to Gonzaga. They beat number to Alabama in the Eastern the Eastern region of the bracket. So they beat never to Alabama then they beat number one, Michigan off 51 to 49. And Michigan is one of the best players had a bad game. I don't really care. You beat Michigan by one, you know two points you hold on late to win. I I was like dang man. This is awesome run by UCLA so long despite losing to Gonzaga. Well Done by UCLA really fun run I think people think I don't follow basketball or watch it at all. I know I enjoy it I like I don't talk about it a lot. It's not my most popular thing to talk about but I when I feel compelled I got a lot to say about basketball and I I really enjoyed the UCLA run the they did now Gonzaga is kind of my local team. I I live in the Pacific Northwest. So West Coast game first of all UCLA overcame a lot of expectations that they were expected to do in the and the tournament but Gonzaga as a team that I like their local to me. I went to Pullman Washington Washington say they are an hour away from Spokane. I really like Mark Few Gonzaga said coach And they're fun to watch Gonzaga. Their ball movement is like textbook. They really play very well together due to meet a lot of great job great work inside and I read not able to go listen to the broadcast if they can go find even like highlights of the Gonzaga UCLA game. Jim Nantz was broadcasting for CBS. And the way he says Joel his name Joe yogie. I can just he says it really quickly like speeds it up. Yeah. He like he's guy from Bordeaux France. Oh my gosh, fun name to say Joe yogie. I really I don't know. I just think it's fun. All your first name. I'm like, that's a fun game to say now Jalen Suggs at the game-winning shot. He's really interesting. He played quarterback in Minnesota wage was both the the football and basketball player of the year in Minnesota..

"What time did you get to bed on saturday night. Three thirty three. I was done working at like one thirty. I just i. I watched the jalen sug shot fifty times. I just i couldn't get over it and i woke up this morning. Still kind of buzzing about it jeff. Porcello is a college basketball insider for espn and he's been covering the tournament from indianapolis us a prisoner of the moment. Jeff that's the phrase that gets thrown around but there are not many moments in sports history like what happened with gonzaga in the final four. You were there just broad historical analysis year. What did we witness. I mean it was the best game i've ever seen in person or on tv and it wasn't a game where the ending masked a you know sloppy but close game. This was just just unbelievable. Basketball for forty. Five minutes. Both teams making shots. No team led by more than seven points the the tension and the butterflies ahead throughout the game. It was just unlike anything. I've witnessed the shot at the end. Just just kind of cap it all off just mentioned that that shot by suggs. Walk us through it from your perspective. What you're seeing. I knew we were good because there was in jalen hands. He's got that magical or he just. He makes them in practice all the time. It's been craziest. Your many's maiden practice where last second shot so. I felt pretty good staring right at it and i was like that's in so it was. It was the best game you know in my you know since i started covering the sport and people compare it to the nineteen ninety-two duke kentucky game. I did not see that. In person. And i was six years old five years old but i i can't imagine there are too many games in the history of the sport. There were better than this.

"All right, before we go, let's get your pix will get our pics here for the the final foreign National Champion. We don't have to go chunk. I mean, you know, it's it's just doesn't make any other game. Although I think Houston has a very good punches chance and it would have guessed anybody and it would have won if they happen to be Taylor. They would have a bunch of chance against but clearly I think that you know, it's going to be about a 1/2 final 112 overall seed final and I think that's you know, I'm going to go with them but I wouldn't be you know, don't be shocked if they if they lose I would if they lose their jobs, but I would not be shocked if they were loose the Baylor but I would go with them and but I I you know used it could be easily to me beat Baylor because they never off Congress matchup. That's right. I have Baylor actually winning the whole thing. I had a pre-season pre-tournament. I'm going to stick with it. But the more I see Gonzaga tomorrow. I'm like, I don't know how long they're going to lose if they play the way, you know, Drew timme again, he was so good against Evan Mobley. I think it would be hard to about death. I'm not sold on their depth if they they don't play they play five years. For the most part, you know, hey, they can now, you know fairly or unfairly, right if they get chewed it into trouble. I know I mean lots and clearly isn't. Okay. I don't know how much does a good and then six quality. They really don't they really don't and that's failure is Advantage Baylor can go deeper their benches much better now in the NCAA tournament other than foul trouble. The length of the time out is is so incredibly deep that they're not going to get tired. It's not like they get tired. I mean these time outs are so long. So it's really just about foul trouble and making sure you keep those guys on the court, but now it's been good. It's been good. I'm glad we're here. I'm glad we got this far and we will talk next week when I'm home. I will be back next week. All I know is the resident since been great, but I'm ready to leave I can read. Well, I'm heading home. It's not nearly as nice as it was yesterday was 70° eight outside down in Broad Ripple, which I had never been to and so it was good. It was a good day. We had an unbelievable result in the final four weeks. He'll lay down. The underdog and and pulling off the huge upset over Michigan. What were your thoughts on the the Bruins and Mick Cronin who I did not think was a great fit for UCLA when they hire them about a year-and-half ago, but I've come to realize that it might not be as important as we once thought. Well, he was he was wage First Choice we know and and you know, but it was a successful coach with a certain style and I'm highly amused Jeff listening to the the pundits the the high-paid Clinton's wage who are on the thing is oh this isn't that normal UCLA Greyhound streamlined. Wait a minute. This this open the door took one of my favorite little basketball topics of the last fifteen years was as the three UCLA teams the plow horse teams that Ben Howland lucked into the final four with next song. No chance of ever winning ever with NBA talent because been Howen hated every second his team actually had the boss. Yeah. Yeah, he was he was like the patron saint of the coaches who are happier when they don't have the ball than when they do and I did a little research. Just go ahead. "Speaking of straight talk The two best teams in college basketball have been Gonzaga and Baylor. Can we agree? 100%. Okay. So which of those two teams right now? Is the better team. And will that be the case when we get to the end of March? Covert aside. There's no question That that will be the case by the end of the season. I have never, Chris. I haven't felt That there are two definitive teams that will play for a national championship. I haven't felt that way in a while, because as we know In the N C. A a tournament. Most of the time. It's not even the best team that wins the whole thing. So to feel like Something catastrophic would have to happen for either Baylor Gonzaga to not be playing one another in an M C. A championship game. That's that's pretty uncommon and so that but that is definitive. That's where we're at. Those two teams air so far are separated from the field. It's pretty crazy. Now. A month ago, I would have said That Gonzaga is the best team like this is the deepest team mark few has ever had. It's probably the best team he's ever had in his 22 seasons as the head coach there, and he's had obviously very good teams. But of late and I've called a couple Baylor games here over the last few weeks. I've started to come off that position a little bit like I think I think it would be a very competitive game. Because the thing that separated me for Gonzaga is I thought they had more balanced like if you wanted to play through the post. You could do that through Judson Me. They had perimeter shooting. They have outstanding guard play, and they have 2 to 3 guys at every position. Baylor is starting to get to that level like they have outstanding guards, and I think they're guards. Their backcourt is better than Gonzaga's. They're starting to get some really good balance up front. Now they do it differently. Those guys aren't scorers. What those guys do their job, and they're pretty effective at doing it. And oh, by the way, their bench is also giving them a huge left. So if I were to pick the game today, I would probably still say Gonzaga. It's a lot closer than what I thought a month ago and and I think it's too bad. They were supposed to play each other earlier in the year, the game was postponed because of Kobe. And maybe that's better. Maybe it's a tantric slow tease. We're getting here. That when we do get it in the national championship, it'll be a great surprise. And one hell of a game. Chris. Awesome stuff. Appreciate the insight as usual. Thanks again. My pleasure boys. Have a good weekend..

"Um How is this team as good as and I'm just going to say is this team is good as Gonzaga. Is it good is Baylor Is this team is good as Indiana Excuse me, Iowa. Or and Illinois. Mm. Think mission is good as any team in the big 10 farm. Not, um, I've seen everybody numerous times. Now. I think there's good as anyone, the big 10. Uh, they're strong and all phases of the game. Um They they don't. They don't want at least yet. Haven't shown any weakness. Let's not going would that continues? They haven't had entry. That's not going would with that, because the kids They need to keep the top seven guys together. They're you know, Coach is playing a very tight rotation. If people haven't really, you know they're playing like 7.5 a God. So you need to make sure that all those guys they help because you lose one. It could really change your rotation. Um Gonzaga. Gonzaga is a different beast right now. I think Gonzaga is just a head above everyone, Um They are officers juggernaut. I think they're the first team ever score. 85 points plus in the 1st 12 games of the season. Which means if you're averaging 85, Plus you've quite Triple digits quite a few times. They can absolutely score the basketball and on the flip side. They do a good job guarding. But what they're saying is we just love story. You've got to stop us. You got to keep up and no one has been able to do that. So I put them Don't know ahead above everyone. Baylor Baylor, Maybe. The best defensive team I've seen this year with mission a real real close. It might be won and won it when we're talking about best defensive team. So, you know, Uh, you know, we still have a lot of basketball to go. Uh, we still need to stay healthy. I still think teams are gonna get better. Um, we still have to navigate this endemic. Uh, you know, you know, and I give cultures credit for managing the stopping gold nature. That they've been.

"One nine straight regular season league games but after looking out they can go to Malibu and get a paradigm with a win on Saturday is not an easy place Firestone Gonzaga struggled a little bit there and of winning a game by third twelve or thirteen I think by twelve against pepper dine and pepper dying played you know good solid game box Ross is a fun guy to watch they got some players over there but I like the way the way he's playing right now playing with a lot of confidence the only child to tell everybody a little bit about the big I did miss the first nine games of the year but I know a welcome sight to coach pope pope and you guys and twenty points ten boards on Saturday a couple steals three assists you'll take that all day twelve of nineteen from the floor this guy is a beast in the paint and for folks that maybe watch Luka Garza to get an understanding of what it's like to have a yearly child story but a little bit about your well you know it is about about eleven months ago went BYU's season about backseat yeah a lot of months ago when BYU season ended in Las Vegas at the WCC tournament and at that point you only had a decision to make about whether he plays senior season or not and the decision at the time with the police name in the NBA draft so you know for all intents and purposes people thought his B. O. U. career come to a close and and he was exploring those you know that that the next level of play and he had a change of heart and then once he did it was you know is mark hopes you know job in a later to get him back to B. Y. U. N. and mark and you'll get a lot of you know heart to heart conversation about what you'll you might be able to doing only decided to come back and then before you know it the NC double a step down and make them sit for the first nine games and now you wonder will just you know what is B. white use potential this year nobody lives Gavin Baxter on top of the only suspension you really wonder you know can the kooks keep your head above water until he only gets back and that became the objective can that's exactly what they did and you mention the suspension nine games but then you add the finger injury that's four more games so a B. O. U. thirty games you always play only seventeen of them it's a little more than half the year but what an impact he's made in those seventeen games B. Y. U. fifteen aunt who was trialed in the lineup and of those two losses one of them he left early at Utah and and the cook walked to lead without a lock the game in overtime so you could argue that when he only played start to finish they lost one time this year and and and that that game was at San Francisco by all of one point then would be what you lose is this your can only two teams have gotten out from que you in Maui and Gonzaga in Spokane every other game the losses five points or fewer or in overtime and everything on the road except for San Diego state so the cooks have won a bunch when they don't lose they don't lose by a lot and your only child the big reason for that averaging twenty one at nine right now shooting high fifties in the field fifty percent from the arc when he steps back and in a second and you know to to crest in your chosen career double doubles it be why you be the only will be the only two thousand one thousand guy in BYU basketball history as he approaches two thousand points and he's already over a thousand rebounds creek here's the thing because I looked at the schedule and I said this game is even more important to be why you because they have a week off before they go to Malibu and play pepper dine and soul that came from Saturday is going to resonate with these guys for the week and that's why the way they closed it like they did to get that thirteen point when they hit ninety one point one a team as good as Gonzaga has John just got to make the guys feel great as they go to practice posted guy that says Hey you know you're only as good as your last game type coach to where don't get too high on yourselves guys it's a great win but we've got some work to do because as big as that win was at home against can sag if we go down the Malibu we lose the pepper dine we're giving up a game that for all intensive purposes if we play with any type of intensity like we play with on Saturday night at the Marriott center albeit this one on the road we are still you know in trouble if we lose that game the one damn good would be why you and I know you know this from traveling around the west coast the way you always has representation on the road well they have only one chance left to hurt themselves cannon that Saturday because if if they win that game it even even if they don't they're likely to be the two seat in Vegas what that means is the crippled by which means you don't play until Monday night could play on final four or semi final Monday and and the team you're gonna play on on Monday and if you're gonna play on Tuesday if you get the Tuesday parking her to resume the only chance lap dance the portfolio to put it being in the resumes Saturday at pepper dine and it wasn't just coach speaker lip service when coach pope just literally moments after the game ended Saturday's that as great as this was as hard as it was to begin that next week's game is already harder it just is and it's not it's a real thing because the groups have earned the right to have every game mean this much and and and a win Saturday panel ratifies or stamps with approval the contract when you almost can't let down it even though people use a lock I think right now the Q. U. degree cannon any bracket expert you have all of the creek the Cougars a maybe a lock but their seeding it unlocked and and that's really can really make some noise here in the next three games they play Saturday in Malibu and then ideally two games in Las Vegas but the what happened it gives I can not that it won't matter it'll matter lasted before you can't get on a Malibu with the wind now I will say that B. Y. U. does an agreement in agreement your point travel really well represent really well when they go especially the so cal so it's a small gym Firestone fieldhouse and B. Y. you can put a good number of fans in there and it has happened historically yet B. Y. is also just for the for in the last eight games at Firestone fieldhouse they lost four straight at one point they lost four straight years in Malibu with some pretty good teams players that feel that teams that feature players like you know Pilar hogs and Eric Micah and then the lights are bright and others so we always had some rough goes in that building so nothing can be taken for granted or or you know counted with pepper nine I think playing better than their fifteen and fourteen records only eight and seven in the league but you put Kohli rock for the Edwards brothers on the floor and you can have a challenge no question about it acrid rebel follow him on Twitter bill the last name W. R. U. B. E. L. L. Greg Jake Toolson TJ haws you mention Tyler haws older brother TJ tell me a little bit about these two I mean I know a little bit more than most but tell the country that may know of the name the only child of course don't know the last name because it's a basketball family extradition been going way back with Jake Toolson maybe somebody that nobody outside of Provo knows too much about enlighten our listeners twelve Jake Toolson is someone mark pope called the best pure shooter in America yet five threes against the stags on on Saturday and none and none of them are towing the line he was the U. with NBA on all of them you know and then coach coke you know only half jokingly told Andy Katz Jake apparently decided he was not going to shoot anything inside twenty seven feet because the three he made were deep any the forty seven percent three hour at three forty six percent three point shooter little better than that from the field makes his free throws he's a sixteen five and four guy at the release all the line and he scored twenty five in the win over pap a month ago so January thirtieth in Provo the games started BYU's eight game win streak you're on right now Jake was seven for ten from deep in that game that's who he is he with the lack player of the year last year Utah valley he started his career at BYU transferred to Utah valley with coach pope when he took the job and then came back the B. Y. U. with coach pope when he returned to Provo so without coach pope you don't have Jake Toolson without tech tools you probably don't have twenty three wins this year and TJ haws yeah he's the the fifteen and six appointed Mrs guy he shoots in the high forties from the field he shoots in the high thirties from three he makes his free throws he's made twenty eight straight from the stripe as the Cougars get hot either at eight or more assists in his last three games and get this he started one hundred thirty one consecutive games you started every re game of his BYU basketball career any six four Bucks seventy not a big big deal he gets knocked around he gets beat up he is never ever missed a game as always answered the bell he's BYU's record holder in consecutive starts at a hundred and thirty one you know Greg I remember reading something a Walter Payton road to where I don't fight the hits that I know I'm going to take I use leverage and I go with those heads so they don't hurt me and that's what made me so durable when I watch TJ haws I get the same feeling he goes with those hits a lot of the times and social slide across the court a little bit but he bounces right back up that shot he made to end the game in Houston because you didn't have your only child always good to go back on some non conference games because the WCC always criticized for lucky guy in saggy got St Mary's and so we're your winds outside the conference when you guys got that win early and it was an exciting last few seconds there from Houston I said that game is going to be key just in case B. why you need it later you don't need it now but still had to be fun for you to be on the road to you know to call an exciting game like that a game that you know without your only child looked like an insurmountable task Peter then went on to hit a buzzer beater I'll click can't last ten seconds against St Mary's to win that one and then there was a woman elevens out you're locked up an alley you you are your only child San Diego to win that one where they actually had to get a win this week and a half ago thirty days been a clutch as they come with the latest trailblazing games they have to have an image that I covered schedule in thirty seven games that have held up well you know the Houston game as you mentioned you know because I could say merry's wins obviously stand up with those are league games but the Utah state becomes a win that really helps and lately and I don't know a lot of folks got it coming but the game be what you want in in value against UCLA open up that thermostat actually turned into a wind but is now standing up for BYU is the group's gonna run to you know going to pac twelve title contention felt the weight than that ranks the schedules can be wise nonconference stretch of S. S. S. strength of schedule nine right now nine overall of the non comm games they played and and that you know it that plus the fact you've got twenty three wins that's.

You know, got into this whole thing with with Bilas was saying it last night. He was right on. You heard me when I talked about Tennessee from the club in Florida, right? And then the dichotomy and then putting together, right? Like that Gonzaga kind of has it and Brandon Clark as a transfer that wasn't there a couple years ago, and then came there, so he's had to earn it, and I do feel like this team each and every year their fan base really resonates with them on this. It's they always feel like they're overlooked. They always feel like they're not the one j. Yes responded as jank. I need your help with this because I could be critical sometimes get fellows. I so I watch them lose back to back games, Tennessee and off Carolina. I just watched them Luther say Mary. They went sixteen in their conference that conference again. St. Mary, no. By the way, not only. That's my that's my point. My second point is because it beat do we go see him again usually going to be twice. No, I'm not buying it. The combination of that on the back to back to Tennessee, North Carolina. And then the lose the Saint Mary now. Here's my thing about Duke. Right. If I were playing against it. Why would I ever play the man to man? I don't understand. Why anybody why I'll just doing you up? Exactly. They haven't proven they could beat you from the outside. But remember this ain't about who could be do. You talk about the top five teams got a shower winning the national championship. And when I'm looking at Gonzaga, I'm saying, right? You thirty three on the season undefeated in your conference in a regular season. But you're gonna lose to save Mary. But this Kentucky and Michigan state. And there's there's Virginia is all of these teams is Duke nook, and I'm like I'm supposed to believing. You even say got swept by Indiana. They lost Illinois. They're not tournament competition. Michigan state's been banged up all year to what about Texas Tech. They got a facilitator wing and covert. They got real good team defense. That's also the type of team that pops up. They can get there. I mean, look, I think we're Texas Tech. They have to make threes. They got people. I West Virginia though in turnament that's concerning me, West Virginia finish four and twelve in the big twelve they finished dead last. And that's the team that Texas Tech loss to so that has to be in the conversation. I will say this essay about your North Carolina. Tar heels Kobe. Why is going to be a top NBA draft pick? He's special camp. John shoot the ball. The little is a baller. They have all the pieces to win the whole thing. What's early pick? No carolina. The winning chip pet. Didn't win the national championship. Carolina. By the way, when you went on with Texan while you were covering Duke North Carolina last week an ACC tournament. I'm sitting there going like this Karen Johnson. What how you disappear he was raking in the first half. Go at them in the second half. He's gotta be more aggressive in the tournament. Agreed three thirty nine in division. Three point percentage. Can't hit threes. That's what big ten three nine. I'm just say I see. Ago. Top phone. Thank you so football to get to XI's linebacker ESPN analyst Jonathan Vilma says New Orleans quarterback. Drew Brees got a 'nother two to three years left telling TMZ sports that if you ask me say that he has another ten to fifteen years left last season. He led the NFL with a one fifteen point seven passer ratings Oga max is.

"That's and the feedback. I got was all the play anyone Vegas accounts for that that they're not playing anyone against aga-. Even though they're favored historically by twenty twenty five thirty points a game. They're still covering by double digits per game. That's what makes it a little historic Vegas accounts for the opposition. That's what a spread his all about. So I I found that little peculiar when I tweeted this out all the facts here. But lean for me is on loyal again. I questioned and what we can zag off such a big win performance. This is the first to back to back road trips. They play like that Thursday, Saturday night type of thing. I think in zag and maybe in the second half takes a foot off the gas pedal a little bit. I wanna talk big picture, though, little Gonzaga because you know, AJ mentioned it maybe the most complete team a team that did beat Duke earlier in the season, if they're healthy, you mentioned the Killian Tilly injury hasn't really played much. This year buddy was kind of a pre. Season all west coast conference type team they can get him for the tournament and by tournament. I mean the tournament the NCAA tournament, I think that'll definitely help out there depth big picture Gonzaga's. His team as good as the team that the just couple years ago play for the national championship and a game was maybe wrapped accordingly. They might have won it and cut down the nets. Yeah. I I think I think this team is better. They don't have. I guess the star power just if you can call it that. But but I I don't see any holes in this team. They can shoot the ball. They defend as well as anybody. I mean, they are just they're good everywhere. They're experienced they're well coached. It's just a really well put together team. I I have them now after this weekend. I'm I moved them from three to address Virginia below them. So I've got Duke Gonzaga, Virginia. Now, my top three, but Gonzaga is in in my mind right there behind Duke right now. And I think this is this is one of the better if not the best team. Gonzaga's head yet. I got Gonzaga number two also in my parenting. Go ahead. And when people tell you Gonzaga doesn't play anybody in conference, they don't, but they still despite playing in the west coast conference, they're still eighty fifth in strength of schedule. Yeah. Because they played Duke non-conference, they played North Carolina non-conference, they played Tennessee non-conference who else is doing that. Who else is going out and playing three top top five teams in the non conference? Nobody's doing that. So I think that they're putting this team together for a tournament run. And I think that prepares them as well as anybody for a big tournament run this season. Yeah. And I agree and luck. My rooting interests are on my individual bats for my clients for myself. I you know, I put on a fan hat here. I kinda wanna see Gonzaga win at all to be perky is a program that's built themselves up the last two neck aids have been close we're really close couple years ago. I I mean, and I'm not a little David verse, Goliath, usually I like. The Goliath, but taken zag is more like Goliath, and they are David I kind of would root for the program, but to cut down the nets that'd be good for college basketball against zag Duke final with Kazakh winning good for the sport. Yeah. We've had a lot. I mean, we've had a lot of teams get really close Gonzaga got really close against North Carolina. But we've yet to see one of these smaller conference teams really breakthrough. You know, the the the power five conferences, plus the big east. They've won it forever. Now. I think the last time you got someone other than them was you've got to go back to UNLV. Yeah. So I mean, you're you're going way both at nine hundred ninety. Yep..

"And when everyone thinks he he's gonna zig zag, but that's just how I've attacked at least my inner circle of people around here. I've seen a lot more individual player props on the Pat side as far as recommendations. And then overall game flow how they think it's going to be relatively played van a lot of people attacking Rams props. Just haven't seen and haven't seen the overall market move that much. All right. So let's go into college basketball here. Let's talk the west coast conference for a couple of minutes. What are the smaller conferences in college basketball, only ten teams here, Gonzaga, clearly far away head and shoulders the class of this conference is this team as good as the previous ones that we've seen Brad? He I think it is. And at least they're showing where it matters and that that'd be your pocketbook. I mean, just look at the I mean, this is remarkable and we'll get more broad range. I think the conference is pretty good this year, at least a lot more balance of what it's been in the last five or six years, but last ten games for conveyance dating back to right around December eighteenth, obviously that won Gonzaga all ten they've covered. Eight of those ten games by an average covering by an average of lemon points per game. The most remarkable thing for me is average line. This isn't football. This is basketball average line for. Zagging in their last ten games. Twenty five point six they've been an average of a twenty five point six favorite. And yet they're a into against the number with an average cover of nearly eleven points for game that in itself to me. I don't care what the competition is the fact that they're laying big time huge numbers, and they're still getting the job done when it comes to the pocket book and cash and tickets way, which is what it's all about. Yeah. I think in zag is just as good as we've seen from them. And the last decade if not I mean, if they're completely healthy, maybe the second best Gonzaga team. We've seen a outside of the team that ended up making it to the national championship game. I think I can firmly say that and we've seen that earlier on the season. They've challenged themselves close game against Tennessee nip tuck game what we're Tennessee hit a couple of threes late otherwise Gonzaga win that game. And it's he's number one in the country. And then as far as the people and then the number one power rated team Duke, obviously Zaka won that game. So yeah, I I don't have a lot of question marks about Kentucky. And we'll get into it here. The fact that I think the conference is a little bit better, especially at the top. I think there's five top one hundred teams this year..

"Strong first-half the Gonzaga BULLDOGS number seven in the country. They lead the Broncos forty-seven to twenty-seven Anthony Passarelli and Phil von buckwald joining us as he does every year. We're up here at Spokane and the turnover Chicago problems for the Broncos as their nine turnovers have turned into twelve points be wild Santa Clara has not been able to capitalize too much turn overs. Only three of them for the BULLDOGS have turned into two points. When we see a twenty point advantage for the BULLDOGS, but we see that same advantage in the points in the pain twenty eight to fourteen for guns aga-, let's be honest. It's a different caliber that the Broncos are facing athletes like Clark and hachi Maura, and it takes a while to adjust to the speed one thing that the Broncos have is a lot of bodies. And a lot of hype to throw at them. But to me in the United spoke about this just a minute ago it still the execution on offense. It's very good at times. And we've seen some great layups coming out of that flow. But at times, it's it's a little too casual considering the pressure you mentioned, and he's turnovers right away just turned into points. And it's more points than an avalanche. Next thing. You know, you look up an twenty months Haci Merle leading the way with eighteen to go with his three rebounds. Brad Clark has thirteen with four board Santa Clara led by Yosef Frankish, just nine Willie Caruso looking to get it in. And it's tipped but grabbed by targeting the baseline Broncos got a big break there as touch crosses half court. He's quickly doubled. And the ball is loose on the floor. Grab by Perkins and take it by Jones who just came into the game another term Bronco turnover. Perkins look at around as he holds out top Burkitt's going to step back. Fire three it is missed and hachi bur rather Jones badly for it. Into the hands of just reached in and pulled it away. Still a twenty point lead the Broncos get it back eighty looking to turn the corner. Eighty step back floater oh front. Iron miss. It was a good idea. Zeki Richard Santa fingertip on it. But knocks it over the baseline to Gonzaga and good battle by Zeki one on three tipping it out of bounds. What it does it allows the Broncos to sit there defense in an escape without a fast break on this possession. One twenty six now. One twenty two clock running as Norval walks the dribble over half court Tilly back in the game for Mark view. Perkins has the ball to right wing whips it into the corner to till who's open for three. Makes it from the corner a luxury to have a seven footer who can hit the corner. Three ezekiel's. You gotta be aware of that. And Caruso, as well they have to go out and garden out there. It's tilles first game. He had October ankle surgery for a stress fracture was supposed to miss eight weeks. He's back in the lineup back playing for Mark view. And this is a deep dribble by Keyshawn Justice backing in against Jones and has his shot partially blocked by Josh Martin. And Josh Martin is grabbed on the arm. I think that was the correct call. I think he got fouled about six times Gonzaga players look around like what happened that was a foul. We're not used to this. Tilles third personal foul. Brandy clark. It's ready to check in Josh Martin to the line. We talked about adjusting the intensity out here. It's it's different. It's something new for them. And they're learning the Broncos learning and they're Justin Josh Martin is sixty percent. Found shooter misses the first one Clark will come in for Tilly who goes to the bench Broncos at thirty seven percent Gonzaga at fifty eight percent. And how's this for the BULLDOGS fourteen of sixteen from the line for the Broncos are four seven after that miss one more here for Josh Martin in the air. Mr Clark, the rebound. Zach norville. Those two free throws hurt. It's an empty trip. When the Broncos actually had a good possession. Pensively time winding down in the half twenty on the timer. Thirty left. The opening half Santa Clara down by twenty three. Jump shot missed inside the paint. Zach Norval shot is missed in Zeki. Richards has the rebound and the Broncos will play the final shot near as Taiji crosses half court slows down now. Ten now nine still out there midcourt at the logo. Now. Seven Russo such extreme Tochigi working against Clark with three pull up three pointer is best into the air grabbed by Perkins. And that'll do it for the first half. And Clark is not the one you want to switch on you will challenge at three point of way out there beyond the three point line. Fifty two twenty-seven is our scored is halftime at the McCarthy at center ROY hachi Mira on the midseason watchlist for the top player in the NCAA has eighteen points with three rebounds. Broncos led by Llosa Frankish nine points. We've I stick around for the university credit union halftime show as Phil and John almost fourteen feet at halftime interview will break down the action for the first half universe. Credit Union Bank with your brain. And that John Phil interview brought to you by Rocco's ice cream..
