And of a rupture in an underwater pipeline off the coast of huntington beach huntington beach officials. Say that this oil spills. A potential ecological disaster marine experts. Say may be weeks even months. Before we know the full extent of the damage to the wildlife at least twenty five thousand gallons of crude oil spilled into the ocean washed onto the nearby beaches and affected fish and birds in the area and in the extremely sensitive and protected marshlands throughout the area. City officials say dead. Fish and birds are being reported. Marine experts. Say a massive oil spill like this will affect the entire food chain of the ocean and all the animals that call the marshlands home and while the school wasn't quite as large as initially feared. It has reignited debate over the safety of offshore drilling. That's in part because it wasn't the only large oil spilled this year back in august. Hurricane ida damaged homes and infrastructure from louisiana all the way to new england there was also an unprecedented number of oil spills reported across the gulf of mexico. We had oil birds and we had dolphins washing on shore that had been negatively impacted so addition hurricane that was a huge issue associated with contamination from the oil and gas activity. So far. we've been talking a lot about the negative environmental effects of offshore oil and gas drilling but wilma says. There's a reason why there's so much of it. how now optional. On the gulf of mexico grilling is located van because they're huge deposits of oil and gas subsurface and various strata under the gulf of mexico. And it has provided a huge economic resource to the state of louisiana and it includes a lot of jobs by the local community members. The issue is it's very economical drilling and production activities and the golf mexico and ovarian large number of people depend directly and indirectly on those jobs. But again it is done a tremendous environmental damage to the environment to the water. Bottom antenna wetland areas the federal government leases this land too big and small oil and gas companies who build rigs to drill into the ocean floor and pump that oil and gas through pipelines up into refineries and the companies. Then send that fuel all over the. Us these rigs and pipelines are supposed to be regulated by the federal government but federal regulation and oversight is often inadequate. A report released earlier this year from the us. Government accountability office found that the federal department responsible for regulation is failing to properly monitor and inspect active pipelines. And not only that. The report also revealed that federal regulators have allowed ninety seven percent of inactive pipelines built since one thousand nine hundred sixty s to remain on the ocean floor..

Oh okay all right. maybe good connections. There they went in house at shell after that. And then i hit a point my career. I realize you know looking for opportunity. Go the next step. Pretty much stuff was going to be moved international or jumped on operator. So i'd started through my resume out there interviewed with marathon murphy and then i was talking to an old boss. It's not actually the last last week We saw some showers across argentina and the southern parts of brazil gonna continue with another couple of systems in the next week You know central brazil areas have the distinct wet and dry season and that typically starts at the end of september. Now the line nino pattern we've had you typically means a later start to bet what season across the higher production states of central brazil But model they're actually thinking. It might come right on time this year. So that's That would be something very unusual. Something we'll watch and But it's possible that They may lock out this year where they did last year last year Wet season started about three or four weeks late and if bottles are right then They'll come on time this year. We just had hurricane ida. It's and seems like this has become a very active storm season. Yeah the in the tropics that has been so we've already gone through. I Here across the united states. We had j k and l a after that as well so we got larry cooking up in the in the central atlantic. Good thing is that it won't be hitting any land at least here in north america. So that's good news but we do still have another couple of features. We're watching here. You know we're right at the the pico hurricane season in the atlantic right now so the next couple of weeks here. We're going to be continuing to watch some disturbances move off of off of africa. Move up through the gulf of mexico and see whether or not we can develop them systems. This year's been pretty good. We've had some really good Temperatures across the golf mexico across the western atlantic really fuel those storms so whatever we can get them up and running they they. All that good sti- do love water. Sound slakes tend to be populated with human trash. It's not so much the the actual trash. I'm worried about anymore. It's the human trash lake. Trash is just so obnoxious dude. I can't handle it anymore. You people drink too much on the lake and you're discussing something needs to be addressed now. Talking about rivers and lakes. Austin texas has a problem. What's that the problem is. We have one river. We've won river that flows through austin texas. Okay that is divided by two dams and everybody here in austin calls it a lake. They have lady bird lake. Which is downtown in austin. Yeah you have lake. Austin which is literally just a different part of the river separated by two dams inbetween an actual lake lake travis and a fake lady bird lake. The it is unbelievable. Everybody calls it a lake. It is clearly a dammed river river. The septa me..
