"Two weeks ago and then last night He matches Kobe Bryant Street for players Age 33 older with 10 games in a row of 30, plus points like every time there's something up for grabs in terms of like a personal accomplishment, Steph Curry does it which you know That game last night, in spite of the loss for Golden State was one of the best games of the regular season. In my opinion, I think hands down that was just like some damn good basketball, and he makes it so much fun like, you know, 47 points. It was a brilliant shooting performance. You made 10 plus three pointers for the third time this week like outrageous that's like this is nuts like every time Like he does something he topping himself and it's Z even more remarkable that he's doing it this year when he doesn't have the same group around him is of Clay's injury because Kevin Durant's gone because of a lot of other mitigating circumstances, and he still the same Steph Curry like I know we talk about him in the M V P mixes. You deserve it. Does he not like What have you and that this maybe is a Yokich and indeed like award to win like it's those two down the stretch. Put him in there, like put him in the conversation and make it serious because he's playing it in a VP level, even if his team isn't quite there. Yeah, I mean, I agree. He deserves recognition for what he is doing the season. I'm hesitant to put him in the class of him bead and yolk it specifically because you could just played the entire season and put the numbers he has. So far those two have have dominated. Unlike you know, any two in the embassy this season, they both have player efficiency ratings of north of 30, which is You know, Prime LeBron Yonas vintage Jordan Wilt Chamberlain territory. That's how dominant they have been. And as good as Steph has been on this hot streak, um, you know, over the course of the entire season, he's missing time in the team. Had the level of success that the Denver Nuggets have had in the Philadelphia 70. Sixers have Bill I loathed acquainting team success to an individual award or legacy, oftentimes as what we do. In the sports world. Um And I kind of want to go on a mission to change that going forward. I doubt I'll succeed. But, um, you know, Curry is doing everything possible to help his team win. He doesn't have is much help as been Simmons. I'm sorry that Jolan beat hasn't Philadelphia and Call Yokich as in Denver with stuff with Clay Thompson out, obviously, with Kevin Durant gone on. When you shine the spotlight on curry No one's playing better ball, especially offensively right now than Steph Curry is urging north of 39 points per game over his last 10. At 47 on Saturday night. But in a losing effort as the Golden State Warriors fall to the Boston Celtics won 19 to 1 14 straight talk wireless no contract. No compromise. By the way this week. Steph passed Wilt Chamberlain as the all time leading scorer on Warriors history, So that's not bad company to keep. If you know you're just a guard who likes to shoot the rock from outside, Courtney coming up here on game night, still plenty more to get to back to the NFL players in the league, asserting their power in an interesting way. We'll dive in his game night on ESPN Radio and the ESPN F continues. We're back on Monday and Steph Curry is.

Down the court and Brian Roland said the Nets are this year's Clippers won't get to the finals because they didn't play enough all season together and we'll come up short in the playoffs. So some interesting hot takes On the Twitter timeline there in the association, which is prone to Ah, hot take or two The Knicks get that win 1 22 to 1 12 over the pelicans in overtime. The six and the row there nights straight cover 19. Oh, 80 s. Their last nine is the New York Knicks. Meanwhile, Stan Van Gundy squad had a lead late and blew it and then lost in overtime, and he was none too pleased after the game with his team performance. You've got to do is execute for 7.8 seconds. You're just supposed to come out of the time out. Do what we're supposed to do and put the game away and we don't do it. No excuse whatsoever today, none. None. I don't care if you're a senior in high school, you can execute what we were supposed to be doing with 7.8 seconds to go south. No excuse whatsoever. Tonight's as frustrated as I've been because tonight simple nobody had to make a play. You know, you didn't have to make a play. Make a shack. Make a path. You never do anything. Didn't have to do anything. You said you didn't do what the hell you were supposed to do. Um, you know, and then in that sequence in those final 7.8 seconds, rose, then dishes the ball out for an Open three pointer, which ties the game at one of three sent it to overtime. The Knicks Have control of the game the entire time and you know free basketball. Eric Bledsoe After the game, said quote. I wasn't paying attention. That this team has the amount of moves that they didn't make it the deadline thinking that they were pretend they want to keep this court together outside of Reddick, it just Isn't working. I don't know. Maybe I'm the only one who thinks that, but I'm not trying to push into this loss. But it kind of seems like what the heck is going on? I don't think you're on Lee. One of the things that mean the record speaks for itself. They are in the 11 spot, which again and with the new playoff format that gets you no shot at all at the post season. So that's kind of embarrassing. So to speak. When you consider the fact that 10 teams will get a shot to play postseason basketball from each conference in the NBA the season, so certainly A disappointing 2000 and 22,021 campaign so far for the New Orleans pelicans. One of those teams Courtney that they're battling with for a play in spot in the Western Conference is the Golden State Warriors and Right now. The Warriors were just hopping on the shoulders of their m v P and the hot streak that Steph Curry is on. They lost 1 19 1 14 the Boston Celtics last night, but Curry scored 47 Jason Tatum try to keep pace with 42. Curry is averaging 39.1 points per game over his last 10, the most by any player over 10 game span in their 12 season or later or at age 33 or older. So curry is out here, Bolin. That means it's time for some straight talk presented by straight talk Wireless. Courtney. What more can we say about curry and individually what he is doing and kind of his ability to carry this team when they're nowhere near what we've been used to the last 45 years? Well, I mean, it's truly remarkable how every time there's a new like new record to break whether it's Chris Mullins record from what?.

"1 14 curry With 47 points, 11 threes marked test. Fisher and John Berry were on the call. Here's what they saw. The Boston Celtics come back to beat the Warriors by five J. B. We had a great personal shoot out if you will between Steph Curry in his 47 Jason Tatum with US 44 Tatum hit some big fourth quarter shots and lead Boston to this fifth straight win. It was an unbelievable game, Golden State came out and played fantastic basketball early built to 16 point lead. Boston look like they were still in l a on the beach because they were there Thursday. But they got back into it and they started to play together. They move the basketball Jason Tatum was terrific with the 44 points. Jabari Parker guy they officially signed today. Comes in the ball game and makes an impact. On again. I talked about it before the game. I thought the second chance opportunity points we're gonna be big and 26 of those for the Boston Celtics. On 14 offensive rebounds. The Warriors play small and sometimes it comes back to bite him. It's it's difficult to do the job on the defense of glass, and it hurt him a little bit tonight. You know when we talk to Brad Stevens before the game, obviously said health is the big reason why the Celtics are playing as well as they are 38% of their regular season games since Kemba Walker signed, that's it for their big four together. They didn't have Jalen Brown tonight, but if they can keep Kemba Walker healthy 26 points and eight rebounds was a big reason why they were able to come out on the winning side. Yeah, no, If they can get him to be the same guy that we've watched over the years jail in Brown, so much improved Uh, in the obviously, Tatum big time You bring interesting Thompson this season. Hey, maybe Jabari Parker's a guy that they could get some minutes out of Ah. Paid. Pritchard just played really well off the bench, So I think they do believe all the pieces are there. We know that they've had peaks and valleys. Throughout this season, we have been able to figure him out. But It's about playing your best basketball at the right time and with under 20 games to go in the season now is the right time. And they seem to be doing that Steph Curry 30 or more points for the 10th straight game. 10 or more three pointers for the fifth time this year. Third time this week. A Topi can play through as he did tonight. A turned ankle in the fourth quarter. Warriors lose Celtics A winner six in a row for Boston 1 19 1 14 the final over the Warriors for Jon Barry. I Mark Kester show right here on your home for the NBA playoffs, ESPN radio and the ESPN app. Steph Curry has undoubtedly been the expect er for the warrior squad this season MBA insider Brian win horse with his thoughts on Curry's play this season. A lot of times you hear people talk about this guy's must watch TV can't miss this guy. It's something that we hear so often that it kind of loses its importance. But what Steph Curry has been doing recently for the Golden State Warriors. Is a great example of this as you've ever seen in the MBA. Even with all the greatness that Steph has provided for us over the last decade, he has reached a new level in these last few weeks. He's averaging the highest number of points per game in his career, but that's not surprised, considering the injuries on his team. But when you watch how creative he is having to be to get free against double and triple teams against defense is totally set against him to get red hot to keep the Warriors playoff hopes alive. It is truly inspirational. It has been something that has been a joy to watch and something we should treasure going down the stretch of the season, even if it doesn't last that long, Rachel Nichols sat down with the man himself to talk about all of the conversations surrounding his play. Those.
Lakers Dominate Warriors As LeBron Drops Triple Double
"Wow, what a win for the Lakers won 28.97 a blowout dominant performance against the Golden State Warriors and I loved the way everybody on the team just about everybody doing stepped up. What a fun night for the Lakers. We needed one like that, especially with all the negative news. We've had lately about injuries and how long and he's going to be out and Jared Dudley and Caruso's concussion and off all of these things happening. It felt good just to sit and watch the Lakers play and dominate I enjoyed this one thoroughly Matt. How are you doing today? Are you in as good of a mood as I am right now dead? Any time the Lakers get away and I'm in a great mood, especially when it's a blot when like this we've seen some sluggish Stars they had another one tonight, but they picked it up real quick right after so I'm happy that they got away, especially on the first end of a back-to-back.
LeBron, Short-Handed Los Angeles Lakers Beat Up On Golden State Warriors 128-97
"Had a triple double in 30 minutes of work tonight. The Lakers lead with about a minute. I have to go. A Golden state 1 24 to 88 Anthony Davis of Ella could miss at least three more weeks with his calf injury, according to Yahoo. Phoenix
2021 Lottery NBA Mock Draft
"Tony. And i are going to do our first lottery. Mock draft of the year today. We're going to go back and forth. Selecting picks to put a draft order together. Midseason is really difficult. Especially if you've looked at the standings anytime lately and seen how bunch together so many of these teams are so i went to espn's basketball power index That list teams projected records to the season through a number of statistical factors. I think it's it's probably a better look. At where teams are going to be at the end of the season then necessarily their records right now and then based off of that we put together a draft order that obviously is going to change and obviously will be affected by the nba draft lottery where the top top three teams each have a fourteen percent chance of getting the top pick and so on as you know how the draft lottery works and so doing a mock draft. This time of season tough until really until the draft lotteries over. We don't really know the order but but we have some guesses now based off of where teams what teams have played. And what's going on right now and we're going to do our best to give you a are mock draft For the twenty twenty one season. First one we're just gonna cover the lottery and we're going to let tony how the first pick in the draft and based off of that. Espn bpi has the minnesota timberwolves projected to have the worst record in the league. Which is actually pretty good news for minnesota timberwolves fans because the timber wolves have to trade pick to the golden state warriors if this is pick four thirty and so the only way minnesota keeps this pick is if they fall into top three right now. If the season were tomorrow they'd have about a forty point. Seven percent chance of keeping this year's draft pick a falling the top three in the draft. So this is no guarantee from minnesota that they'll have the number one pick they all said the number one pick last year. Tony you're on the board. Who do you select if you're the timber. Wolves with the number one. Pick in the twenty twenty one nba draft. I select the I will not need three minutes to make the selection I'm selecting k. Cunningham six hundred seventy one hundred twenty point guard out of oklahoma state and so when you When you make your draft selections you do to you draft for two things you draft For value and you draft for need and this is both in pick antibi- you pick for for for the minnesota timberwolves number one. K cunningham is the best player draft You know. I think the gap is actually close Because you know. I think jonathan coachman gain in jalen green. You know both of those guys you look at them and they have some real special tools But that being said you know k. Cunningham is is still am. I is the most shore Most short superstar player in his draft. In and i think that's a compliment to how good distract is going to be especially in the top five But you know cunningham can score at all three levels. No he's sick. He's all seven all twenty. He's he's a natural point guard You know if you're minnesota you're trying to trace the ngelo russell Like as soon as possible In you know you put k. cunningham in the backcourt with anthony edwards who i think both of us can safely say it's better than we thought he would And i think that. That's obviously a backward for the future for the minnesota timberwolves in a really nice triumvirate with karl anthony towns so Definitely you know we all rights won't always talk about. We need some some of these number. One picks the go out east but you get the number one pick in another kind of generational prospect that comes to the western conference. I'm totaling till the agreement with you. Tony i think look. I don't think. I think there's five guys that can make a claim to the number one pick in this draft and so it's not like cunningham is a lock here but because of that i would put all of these players in the same tier and then when you look at what minnesota actually needs on their basketball team. Right now i think cunningham is just the right fit for this team as well and i i see him as a really nice compliment to karl anthony towns and to ant man right now and i think that this is this will be a huge boon for minnesota. If they get this pick and you know look everybody in minnesota has got gotta be crossing their fingers at this point Like you said if they fall out of the top three golden state gets this pick. And i think golden state already one that andrew wiggins dangelo russell trade as it is but if they end up getting you know the fourth or fifth pick in the draft does as as well. It's going to be an absolute massacre on that trade.
Brooklyn Nets Closing in on Los Angeles Lakers in Updated 2021 NBA Championship Odds
"So let's get started says we're at all star weekend in the nba Not that anybody gives a crap when it comes to the all star weekend but it is a time to go ahead and look back at what we've seen so far in the nba. And how the title odds may have shifted because fez all of a sudden. We've got a brand new co-favourite expected or at least projected to win the nba championship yet. Brooklyn nets plus two eighty the same odds now as the lakers. The nets just about a week ago where four to one. Rj bell recommended a bet on the nets. At that time. I got to give credit. Heck i gotta give her own. Mackenzie rivers credit. He bet the nets at two to one to win the east. And i think i was buying the narrative of oh kyrie irving harden these guys. I just don't trust these guys to integrate to play well together and really the opposite has been true. The nets despite bring harden in missing lots of games. Obviously when he wasn't on the team and having durant missing so many games they're right there with the best record in the east. And i think they only get better and if i make one bet and the futures market i would bet the nets right now. Plus the two eighty jonas. You said you like the nets into win the east even more at plus twenty five right. That's that's the one that that. I would look at because when you get to the nba finals. I mean you know this. I mean i it just depends the matchups. We've seen a couple of weird situations happen in the nba finals. The past couple of years. You saw a bunch of injuries early on for the heat last year in the finals you saw the golden state warriors the year before that with the toronto raptors injuries took place in those final. So we've seen this happen before where it's such a long race when you get to the finish line. It's all about a war of attrition. who's going to be the healthiest when you get to that point. But as far as coming out of the eastern conference. I know that the philadelphia seventy sixers are a great story. But i'm with you fez. These brooklyn nets have played and exceeded expectations thus far just based on personalities. Now they do have kyrie irving. That's the problem because kyrie irving is like the guy who decides to read a book in the middle of party like people are doing cake stands and they're having a good time. There's a bathtub filled with booze. You've got stripper poles. You've got everything. And he decides. That's the time he's going to break out. Warren peace and sit in the middle of the party because he just wants the attention and wants to show that he's different and he's i mean if the earth is not flat then we shouldn't go to the bubble then they should change the nba logo. That's the only reservation. I have about the brooklyn nets. i'm not worried about james harden at all james harden shown he's willing to sacrifice and do something different and decrease his workload from an offense standpoint in order to try and make the team better. I'm not worried about kevin durant. He's already been paired up with stars before it had a couple of stars at he's played with kyri to me is the one piece of that that i would. I would be a little bit concerned with. And but here's the other part of the nets. And why. I like this and especially like to win the eastern conference. What's the one knock on james harden throughout the course of his career. Great regular season runs out of gas in the postseason. Well now he's not having to carry the entire offense himself. So if that's the case and you're going to get a better rested better in condition. James harden when the postseason comes around fez to me that just screams brooklyn coming out of the eastern conference
Lillard's late 3 gives Blazers 108-106 win over Warriors
"Damian Lillard hit what proved to be the game winning three point shot with thirteen point seven seconds remaining as the Portland trail Blazers beat the Golden State Warriors one away to one oh six Lillard scored his team's last eight points in the final two minutes as the trail Blazers rallied for the victory now is the time where like I got a four seed to lose I got it I got to create opportunity even if it's a tough one or even whatever happens I gotta put my foot on the gas a little bit more and try to make something happen Lillard and Carmelo Anthony scored twenty two points for Portland while Robert Covington and Gary Trent junior each chipped in fifteen points apiece Stephan curry topped the worst with thirty five points or Draymond green had twelve assists and nine rebounds I'm Jim Bernard

"golden state warriors" Discussed on ESPN Daily
"Fdic. a. Kevin one of the silver linings of all of this past year for the warriors was the fact that they got the second pick in the draft and they select james wiseman out of memphis and there were all sorts of questions about him because his only college. She's got cut short after three games and then because cova there was no summer league there. Was this very abbreviated training camp. So how unique has his entrance into the nba. Ben and how was he fit in while matriculating with these warriors through seven games. Now i think steve kerr said it. The other day we had conversation which is this is completely unprecedented. There is no way there's ever been a player coming into the league with this little. Prep time going into opening night. Right most rookies there. Is this orientation process right. You go to summer league. You get the kind of feel in the rhythm of the nba game. Those are important games. You get a full training camp by the way you get the camaraderie that comes with training camp. You get to go on a fishing boat with paul george. Whatever the hell they do in golden state right like you you do all that and instead. He's coming into this very atomised league. He has three games of college experience. But he's also kind of special. You know i asked. Bob myers the general manager. You know why you selected wise one of the reasons. I asked that is centers kind of out of fashion in the league. There are a lot of organizations. You can't imagine drafting a center. Because i think it's become a bit of a mercenary position. You can always go out and get one on the cheap you know why. Get a guy that so often given the modern game is gonna be on the floor. Drain crucial minutes. And i thought golden state frankly was one of those organizations and he said just. This is somebody. There's nothing you can say he won't be able to do. Can you do everything right now. No but when you start ticking off things you want from a center in the modern mba. Can he shoot. Can you protect the rim can switch out and guard. Small guys when pick and rolls. Can you run. the floor can pass. He has the capacity to all those things and would impress myers was at their only dinner. last october. and november wiseman showed up alone. And i asked myers is that unusually says absolutely generally speaking when a nineteen year old comes to meet the coach and the owner and the general manager. You know they'll be some sort of handler. Maybe a member of the family or coach or something and weisman just kinda walks in like. He's meeting the three middle aged guys dinner. Because he's one of them and just composes himself. Weisman's fascinating he speaks mandarin. Because how does that happen. I think weisman sees. It is look at me if you're going to be an nba player your citizen of the world. A lot of guys talk meditation. It's kind of fashionable to say..

"Have these five finals appearances. They won three. they were a dynasty. They are no longer a dynasty by virtue of last year's lost gap year. People call it but now they're they've got some good players but they are team like any other team in the league. Right it used to be the warriors and everybody else now. They're searching identities. They're trying to turn marginal players into good ones. They're trying to get prospects up to speed. They're trying to stave off the aging of some of their players. There without klay thompson so all of this isn't a state of suspension. There's just these questions that golden state's asking for the first time which is. How good can we be in this. Incarnation incarnation it does feel kevin there at this unique inflection point the state of suspension. As you say. I want to recap for our listeners. Here just the string of utter horrible luck. That landed them here. What happened to this team to bring them so low. After leading this very charmed existence in the two thousand eighteen finals against toronto. We saw kevin durant go down with an achilles injury and we saw klay thompson. Go down with an acl injury and that pretty much torpedo their chances in that fines in the off season kevin durant departs golden state for brooklyn then the following year or absent. Much klay thompson steph. Curry breaks his hand. And that pretty much packs it in and then just before the season this november klay thompson. A workout in southern california had his own achilles injury and he is out for the year. he's rehabbing and green after. Having to deal with health protocols getting back into shape strained his foot so he was absent the first four games of the season so it was very much stephan the spare parts to start the season. Which kind of i think might had had their stock price a little artificially low however there's still people who believe. This is a fringe playoff team. I think the most interesting thing is. We don't know it's been years since we haven't been able to declare the golden state warriors top contenders. But we don't know the margin between very good good and hey it's a second gap year it does feel out of all of that and there's a lot there that klay thompson that's the most gut wrenching aspect of all of this. I mean he had worked. All the way back was on the cost of being steps running partner again. Nba fans let alone. Warriors fans. I think nba fans who appreciate the aesthetic nature of basketball. Let alone the substance of what they were doing. We wanted that and yet this happens and what kind of a bomb was kevin for what the warriors have been planning to do. It was devastating. You look at the top five or six players and you say this is a team that you rightfully have to put among the contenders and without thompson. It just loses it's shape. He provides so much structured. The offense he's a great defender. And so much of the interplay as you say between two curry and thompson. It's the engine that makes them work. Those are the two wheels just flying around the court confusing defenses and allowing golden state to perform the surgery. They do against defenses as even speaking to people who work for this team kevin. What's your sense of their mindset. At this point how easy how hard maybe has been to shake off this kind of a setback yet. Another setback and move on. I think they have a very measured expectations about this year. This is an intermission. They're on a fact-finding mission. They don't expect. I don't think to win a championship this year. But what they do expect is to get each of those other pieces acquainted with playing with steph. Curry is playing with steph. Curry.

"Steph curry is considered to be struggling. He is the greatest shooter. man has ever seen. It is not an exaggeration. And when clay gives back look the hell out. Golden state is gonna be immediately back in championship contention by the way. I like that kid. Wise while stevenage shouts out the doubters steph curry and the once terrifying golden state warriors do have a lot to prove this season. It has been eighteen months of just bad luck with serious injuries. Plaguing the rest. Today kevin arnovitz reports the warriors. Now find themselves at a crucial inflection point. And how he fallen dynasty is trying to shoot. Its way back to talk. I'm pablo torre. It's wednesday january. Cifs this is. Espn kevin arnovitz. Hello hello pablo. I am so excited to talk to you today. Because you have been digging into the golden state warriors and you've talked to their players. Their coaches their executives. But i want to know what other people are curious about. They hear that you're writing a future on the warriors. What did they want to know can still work can steph curry dragged his team by the scruff of its neck into the playoff field. Can they approximate without klay thompson. Kevin durant gone even a glimmer of what they were during their dynasty. And that's what people wanna know. And at the center of all of this kevin this week in particular is steph curry and we can't begin this conversation without talking about what he did specifically on sunday night. How would you describe what you saw. It was a volcano curry leads. In one hand or just off balance grows it up. It's good he's got fifty. Career screen takes a deep free. It's god fifty nine points. Curry takes another three. It's up job. He's got sixty two just unspeakable three point attempts that no person with a good conscience ever a nation of basketball coaches is freaking out. Because they're going to have fourteen year olds in practice pulling up from thirty seven feet. There was the sense coming out of their very met to into road trip. That steps showing few signs he might. It's gonna happen. It may happen. Don't you think it's going to happen. He's starting to move differently. We're starting to find him. The ball and places he likes it and as draymond green said to somebody on the staff. All it takes is one in. We saw that one sunday night against portland and essentially recreated the steph. We knew for those five years over the dynasty. Let's be clear about what the prelude to that career high sixty two was because he was shooting. What like twenty percent from three in those first two games so when people are begging hoping for that volcano to start shaking again. Why do you think it actually ended up exploding as it did. I mean one is just the laws of inevitability second is in your staff. They all emphasize this. And it sounds a little bit like spin. If you're if you're sort of cynical which is look. He's playing with guys that he's never played with before. But when you really start digging into it and you remember what it was like to watch the weird they don't run scripted sets all that much mall. Those great beautiful plays that you see that. Look like basketball ballet. They use intuition. They use a million reps playing together to sort of know where everybody's going to be almost telepathically on the floor. And so you've seen that a million times steph. Runs comes off a pick and roll. He gives the ball up. He relocates to the corner other people kind of follow him there. Somebody comes off the other side and then steph kind of relocates again and you find him and it's so second nature if you watched it for five straight years you come to take it for granted but if the other guys on. The floor aren't versed in the dark arts of golden state warriors movement. It's harder and it was something that i think other teammates. The new guys andrew wiggins kelly oubre rookie. James wideman guys. Who haven't played as long with him. It takes a little while to get in the rhythm. There was like a moment. I think in the milwaukee their second loss of the season where you saw step come off one of those speaking roles and he was going to kind of go fast too slow to the right corner and there was somebody there right and it wasn't the fault of a teammate. It's just they're not equipped with the intuition and just the nuances of golden state warriors basketball. Which essentially is how do we find steph. The right shot at the right moment at the right time precisely where he wants it. It's funny to think of people already beginning to sell their stock. Instead of because of these early games that you reference kevin because in the midst of it in the midst of that slump. We got this video of steph hitting one hundred and five i believe consecutive three pointers in practice. What did you make of that piece of mba mythology that was actually real at third that performance at practice in chicago. That's right before their third game is coming off of two games where he's four twenty. Now when you hear a guy like steph curry's for twenty. The answer is a slum but how does a person in a slump hit one hundred and five three pointers in a row. So it was this sort of clash of realities which was the performance on. The floor wasn't very good. Is his former offer his mechanics off his head and the answers will will quite certainly not because he just hit one hundred five free pointers in a row like them because there are people that i saw again on the internet but nonetheless people who were not impressed by this who are these people pablo who people who say kevin practice is one thing the game capital t capital g. is another and steph just doesn't have it in game anymore. I have no comment. I told heresy. I feel like steph. Indulged it more than you just did in reference to all the people who had doubted him. You went michael jordan. Meam on everybody department is still personal q. The jordan may take all that person just a An opportunity to kind of sirte. My will the game early and try to create some energy. This sixty two point game steph pushing back on his critics like that it all comes right as a lot of people are revising their understanding of who the warriors maybe really are. So how crucial is this particular moment. It couldn't come at.

Kevin Durant dominates in long-awaited Brooklyn Nets debut
"Let's start with because this was let's say a nice present for everybody, right? C l smooth this is, um you get Kevin Durant. In his debut with the Nets, and I mean, what did you make of that performance? Eyes to things. I think number one. You look at what Kevin Durant the way he was able to play. Um, it was pretty much again his look like her but healthy. His explosion has returned. But then also it was a little caution because the Golden State Warriors as much as we thought that they were going to be this back to normal type of situation, obviously losing Clay Thompson But they had so many deficiencies. I don't know if it was really Ah, great test. I think that on the on paper, it looks good. And maybe for the first, maybe first quarter attended 12 minutes. You kind of said Hey, but I think Derwent was remarkable. They pretty much got every shot that he wanted. I just would have loved to have seen a situation perhaps, and Draymond green was out there and healthy. He was out there to be able to, you know, again, Place in solid defense. Aundre on Kevin Durant, but make no mistake. If you are Ned stand, and I think if you're a fan of Eastern Conference basketball, you could be very, very excited about the potential of a Durant and carry urban to go on with those other pieces in Brooklyn should be had been able to have a phenomenal
NBA looks to sports betting to fill the gap
"The nba season kicked off with a bang last night. The brooklyn nets beat the golden state warriors. One thousand five hundred ninety nine in the first game of the season with no fans in the stands looking likely anytime soon. The league is looking at new media strategies and sports betting to fill the gap and they aren't the only league doing so. How could that look. Our next guest has ideas. Let's bring in paul rebel. Founder the premier lacrosse league Paul great to see you again. Of course. The pl just merged with major league lacrosse. You say that this provides a singular destination for fans. I would imagine this. This gives the sport an advantage as well in terms of selling itself whether it be media coverage or streaming rights or any other kind of rights to carry the games. Yeah absolutely it's back. Happy holidays I think with sports in particular the ability to coalesce that have a singular message is important and for us when we look at future road profitability and just larger revenue Looking at the commercial opportunity of on now entering our third season twenty years or pro across history. That's looking like close to four thousand hours of twenty years of games at the mo of played that we can provide streaming service package as well as part of the announced we said we will get span to eighteen. Which is additional commercial assets and market now and as we continue to grow. We'll catch up to the legacy leaks. Hey paul dan great to have you back but in congrats on the deal. Quick one for you here you guys. You had that that bubble season this past summer very successful you know it was all over. Nbc all their properties. That sort of thing. Obviously no fans of how important was the sports gambling integration. You guys had done a deal with draft kings was that did that help engagement. And do you see that as a really important part of the offering the media offering going forward. Yeah it's huge allow. The sports properties have learned that we need to be more nimble. And not as reliant as call it major league baseball the traditional path to building a sports league on ticket sales the nba. What you reference malas typically rely on twenty or thirty percents of their revenue on tickets were looking at a modern sports age where it's meteorite sponsorship now sports betting merchandise in many cases the epl leapfrogs ticket sales and on the sports betting front. Dan we did a deal trap games last year and it was huge. I think what the sports betting this new gaming offers looking at now is live broadcast. Live odd integration And we're seeing networks now. Cut deals with gaming operators. If you look at espn's draft or mdc in points that so the properties are going to wedge their way and that's part one part two is i think in twenty twenty two to twenty twenty one. We're going to start seeing the entrance of bio data Related to players. So where will technology like lou on players that integrated the broadcast experience leaning more viewership and a larger handle sports ban in october. Three billion dollars legally registered. So we'll see that number continued to grow and more league revenue opportunity and board network revenue opportunity into twenty twenty

We're not start until january the legally. No seriously you're starting on christmas. And they are. They are actually starting on christmas. We have we have games christmas day. Nba we've got five games announced in the nba Maverick's aunt lakers pelicans add heat. Golden state warriors will visit the milwaukee bucks. That's going to play the celtics. So that's a kyrie irving revenge game if you believe in that kind of stuff and then We got the clippers and denver. I believe that's gonna be the last game of the night. But what. I'm looking at his. Luka doncic shaw getting a showcase game against the lakers christmas day. That's going to be a great introduction for the five or six people that watch basketball. That don't know the don't know everything about luca at this point Pelicans and heat like zion williamson a christmas day game. The pelicans played on christmas day last year. It believe the nuggets bite ziad with the injury so Good good opportunity to showcase ion williamson golden statement walkie without clay. How much can steph do with the kid from memphis as james wiseman And not clippers and denver. I mean that's just too great teams from the western conference We'll see what they're gonna do. I mean quite leonard still there. They underachieved last year. They're gonna they're gonna be looking to do a little bit more this year
Thompson has torn Achilles tendon, expected to miss season
"Golden state warriors sharpshooter klay thompson tore his right achilles. Tendon they'll be out for another year. Not the klay thompson had choice. But would you voluntarily rupture your achilles tendon rehab for a year and then never really be the same for thirty five million dollars. And that's what klay thompson is. Guaranteed this year. That's his salary.

Really one of the preeminent athletes In Bay Area history. This is a huge blow. Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson, injured in workout with other NBA players, will undergo MRI on Thursday
"Be concerned. I play all those things combined. This far as i know he's playing basketball and I don't know who with i think is playing basketball pie. Like a lot of these guys are trying to get ready for ready for the season. Clay of course missed all of last year after the aclu injury. He suffered in the finals that year. Before here are tim. Legler and adrian watson hausky getting up with us earlier today guys. Thanks whoa do. What can you tell us. What do we know about this injury. Greenie lower lower right leg. There's certainly a significant amount of concern among the warriors talked to his agent greg lawrence last night. And they're going to have that imaging this morning a west coast time you'll see some of the warrior personnel front office medical staff coming down to be there his agent there and they're going to get a better sense of the severity of the injury. The torn acl injury was on his left is left knee that causing the last season. This is a right leg injury so it's not the same leg that's not necessarily any indication of how severe it may or may not be but just to sort of by for those award following it last night. The vibe i was clearly getting from you and others covering the story. Was that the level of concern that this is. Something very serious is significant. We don't wanna read too much into it. But am i getting that part of it right. Yeah there's there's a significant level of concern but it could be could it be At best strength half at worst is it in the achilles area and so that's why they'll get in there today they'll do the imaging and they'll find out for sure right so tim lego. Let's let's sort of look at this from a bigger picture basketball perspective if klay to missed significant time here this is a long term injury and again we can all hope that it isn't but what would that mean for the warriors championship window. Well my direct answer to that question would be. I think it's still open greenie. I think. Look i'm less concerned about klay thompson potentially missing another years in terms of just guys getting a little bit older steph and draymond both in their early thirties. I'm not as concerned about that. More concerned about what is going to be like coming back from now. Potentially another dreaded basketball injury. That's what you're concerned about and now on each leg so let's see what klay thompson looks like. You know a year from now. That's how john again. We're still waiting to hear the results of that. I still think the windows opening the main reason because we look around the nba. There is only one team right now. That definitively you can say it. Looks like they're put together to win the title. And that's the lakers about virtually every other team in the nba. So this means the warriors getting back together is delayed a little bit longer so be it. I

"Cities have been like zero percent. They've just been no traffic for awhile. Since the shutdown. Yeah Yeah I mean. There's traffic but not like traffic congestion. Yes exactly yeah. Yeah and Japan particularly vulnerable. Due to their aging population. Twenty percent of the country is over. Sixty five they have a large percentage of smokers as well and one of the denser populations in the world and one of the more transit rely on all of those factors that you would think could lead to a severe outbreak. But we're still. We're still trying to understand all of this to me. If you look at Indonesia for example they are at three hundred ninety nine to Indonesia's a lot of people don't know as over two hundred million people and a very dense society as well. You would think that it would be higher frankly at this point. It doesn't seem like a I haven't followed the news that closely out of there but it doesn't seem like they have done. You know severe lockdown type stuff yet so They are implementing a few other measures like a insisting that public transit buses trains airplanes only fill half their seats. Those seem like the kind of half measures that we don't really know the Cassisi of but maybe there is some reason that it hasn't been that bad there yet. Perhaps it's the weather who knows what it could be or maybe it could be that the scale of the outbreak is being missed or just got seated there a little bit later tough to say in a a lot of these places where we haven't seen a US style outbreak yet. But or it's delayed. Yeah yeah hard to know whether that's coming. I mean there's I can't think of a huge reason why wouldn't becoming into these places but maybe there is something that we don't understand that it's going to reduce the impact of the virus in some places. I mean about a month ago. The the death toll internationally was officially at about four thousand deaths and most of those are in China and so it can ramp up if it's undetected and spreading and then get into certain of the population. That's what happened in Italy and Spain then France than New York I'm not saying that is what's going to happen here. But that is certainly another possibility. Is that? It's just sort of lurking in silence. What do you make out of this news from South Korea that at least fifty one patients were diagnosed as having been fully recovered from the corner virus and have now tested positive after leaving quarantine and I think that story was a maybe two days ago? I actually this morning. Saw another source saying it was even a higher number of people like ninety patients or something I think the key takeaway for me was that there was quote unquote a relatively short period of time after they were given the all-clear that they tested positive again. And for instance if you look at the Crean. Cdc's director general. She said the infection was likely reactivated. After remaining dormant. In other words they weren't reinfected per se but it was likely false negatives and that was the thing we've talked about many times where they tested. They tested negative. They still had it. And then the symptoms. You know this is a disease where the symptoms can come and go as senator earlier. In the episode you can be in that hospitalized or illness period for a while and so probably just Prematurely discharged and that seems like the outcomes reeser explanation here. If it really were that widespread that people could get reinfected. I think we would have heard more reports out of this. We talked about some of the inconsistencies with testing. We can't rule out the possibility of reinfection but it would make this virus unique indeed if That occurred without after people have actually cleared it for a true reinfection where they acquire the virus again. Externally after it's been completely controlled occurs one more story internationally to get to out of Saudi Arabia. They have extended their nationwide curfew Sunday. They extended indefinitely after the country reported more than one thousand two hundred new cases of the krona buyers. In the last few days I will that will do it for us. "Is that realistic? Just stay in your tent all day and don't talk to anyone. I mean the only solace that many people these interacting with other people within this vulnerable population. So you're GonNa have not do that. And they what are they supposed to do during that time? We you know if you have a house you have books you net flicks you consume with your friends like. They don't have any of the any stuff like that. Yeah so asking people in the homeless population to just completely self isolate. It's just it's not realistic. It's IT'S A. It's a complex issue that we need. Its own podcast. People who study this and there's an element of mental illness so called mental illness. Involved and then you've got You know sort of different types of quote unquote listening. It's a very complex issue independent of Cova and then when you introduce this factor It probably multiplies that affect the healthy streets Operation Center H. as in San Francisco They have Refocused efforts as part of this response to include things like not taking a removing tents Addressing criminal activity and encampments and on the streets keeping areas clean that includes regular street cleaning and power-washing collecting garbage from people living in tents ensuring that the sidewalks are kept cleaner Not allowing large war. Sorry to interrupt but kept clear not I mean that's and again like this isn't Crap on San Francisco. You know this is. This is a nationwide problem and these are sensible guidelines within the resources they have available but or keeping the sidewalks here. That's where a lot of people have to set up their tents many people. I'm sure of seeing the photos. Even if you don't live here in California but yeah please continue. No what did I say? Cleaner says younger. I just wanted to expulsion. No thank you. I've got sanitation on my hand. Washing songs stuck in my head But by the way if you're homeless good luck finding a place to wash your hands. Yeah Yeah No. These are all serious challenges for this community Other things are looking at not allowing large encampments meaning more than five tenths. I assume together Yeah here's the next issue. They're asking people to stay one person. Pretend and keep tents at least six feet apart and then another huge thing that you alluded to is just trying to educate people on Cova nineteen. This is not a population that's GonNa have a cell phone or the news plugged into their. You're listening to podcasts all day and things like that. So how you know. How can you go about educating them? On the issue as the pandemic is unfolding so the plan as of now in San Francisco has a between seven and eight thousand homeless and only about fifteen hundred shelter beds in the best of times is that they're going to try to house. People in all tells us a throughout the state of California. They're trying that but the cost of that is going to be at least as of the last. Look one hundred seventy nine dollars per night. So you're looking at two houses people for even ninety days. You're looking at tens of millions of dollars. Fema is going to try is in theory going to cover some of that in California overall This is from a a a April eleventh report from the San Jose Mercury News. A Gavin Nuisance Office. The Governor California said that Eight hundred eighteen hundred hotels or motel. Rooms are now occupied as a part of this joint effort project room key between the state counties and Fema and that the state is procured eighty seven hundred rooms and that's again noting that that's the number of homeless people just in San Francisco by themselves and there's a hundred and fifty thousand people overall homeless in California with one hundred eight thousand unsheltered and just think about all the logistical gymnastics. That are required to do this right. Okay some people may not even know due to substance dependence or mental illness may may not even be appropriate to put them in a hotel room. They need further care that There needs to be some kind of security. There needs to be some sort of nursing available and we can distinguish between homeless people who have tested positive or showing symptoms as opposed to not. Not This. If you're you've got people who are showing symptoms and needs somewhere isolate. That's a big part of what they're trying to accomplish here but they need physicians. Nurses case workers got it deliver food right because many. How are these people supposed to get food if you're homeless even if you're healthy? Many of them are dependent on donations. Or you know. They have to go into local shops to try to scrounge together. Something to eat. You know they're not supposed to be doing that now. So that makes things very difficult You Need P. p. e. for the hotel staff we're going to be cleaning these rooms and so all these logistics. Even though this was announced almost a month ago it takes a ton of time to get this in place. And how do you get people to these areas safely without overcrowding on say a bus you know they have they may have pets they may have personal belongings whereas all that going to go yeah. It's it's the logistical hurdles are insane. In a way it's a it's a microcosmic issue of opening certain sectors of the economy. Backup that you have to handle all of those logistical challenges including cleaning including protection of all the people involved transportation issues. And we've been speaking of this through a California centric Lens where we've got over one hundred thousand homeless folks but I mean the estimates just in the United States alone. We're talking about a population. Maybe half a million people so this is a this is a challenge to keep an eye on. Yeah I mean this is GonNa take money and vision and commitments and manpower. That doesn't exist right now to really solve this and we. We might want to get on this. Because we aren't reopening anything if the virus continues to rage through the homeless population right in the the most vulnerable elements of society the most vulnerable states and cities the most vulnerable countries in the world. If we don't solve this problem everywhere then we can't get back to. Normality open borders open. Economy all this stuff so if we didn't care about the homeless before We didn't enough in my opinion We better start carrying now because an outbreak in any community is really something that's going to prevent all of us from going back to our normal lives. Yep We'll said and important to keep in mind that that's a population that doesn't have advocates or champions necessarily they don't host podcast or things like that so whatever whatever we can do if that's something that you think is an area where resources and attention should go if you buy what nature said You know whatever we can do to to push that forward is going to help solve that problem because it is a very challenging and difficult problem to solve right now. It's good some good news Boris Johnson released from hospital. We'll call it hospital rather than the hospitals in the UK. Get your so your British pronunciation is down. We've had a pronunciation but my my Exurbia herbage yet. Anyway he's doing he's doing well now He's still not going to immediately return to work. That's the statement that the Prime Minister's office has put out of London and he wishes to thank everybody at Saint Thomas's for their brilliant care. All of his thoughts are with those affected by the illness. That was the statement that they released and then in the later video Boras did I personally Enjoyed this part really thanked for the life saving work. He thanked Jenny from New Zealand. And Lewis or Louis from Portugal. Yeah so he made it without having to put on a ventilator but a was receiving supplemental oxygen and was in the ICU. So he's a one of the good stories. What's the latest in Japan? Now Ben This is something that we've been monitoring it's it's another interesting test case. They did things a little differently. They did close schools. But Society as continued largely unabated at least compared to other countries. And so the hope was that they'd contain this but they weren't necessarily doing the large scale testing that South Korea had done and so I think it's Sweden is another one of these were. The kind of didn't totally lock everything down. But what's the latest now in Japan? Yeah we were pushing our luck asking for two consecutive positive stories because the issue in Japan now is the virus. Transmission seems to be growing enough that it's causing concerns and now prime minister. Shinzo Abe is finally declared a month-long state of emergency which is apparently the first time that's happened in Japan since their constitution came into effect in nineteen forty seven so that just puts into perspective the severity of things as we've discussed globally with this pandemic. He's asked citizens specifically to avoid bars and restaurants in the evenings right now. So not those full-scale lockdowns that we've seen in so many places but some of these earlier preliminary measures some of the measures as nate said earlier. That in places like in California. We may be took a few days before. The actual lockdown went into effect so not a full scale sort of shut down or quarantine asked or stay at home in Japan yet but potentially moving that way and just to put some color on this two weeks ago. Japan had not had a single day with two hundred and fifty new confirmed cases and now this is recording. Yesterday was the third day in a row with over five hundred new cases they actually at seven hundred and forty three new cases yesterday and we can look at some traffic.

"Those numbers are going to influence the range. And that's why you get something like between a million eight million actual infections. Yeah exactly and part of the reason I think for that range as well is just. We've seen the difference that even you know a few days delay in walking down 'cause if you wanted comparison California to New York. Yes example Well this is the power of exponential growth and also on that particular point. I've seen a lot of people a lot of Internet sloughs Comparing the date. The two states officially locked down. I don't know if you've seen this. Nate March twenty second for New York March nineteenth for California but the big cities in California. We're actually locked down about a week before that. I think in San Francisco. You guys were a couple of days before us in Los Angeles and we were March thirteenth in Los Angeles so a week or ten days or something can have huge compounding effects when we talk about exponential growth. Yeah and it did. Seem like the. The behaviors just trickled out into the general population. Even before the official lockdowns faster rate in the bay than Than they did in New York. So but that's why you're you're going to have this level of uncertainty and with many states many places Just having locked down relatively recently. You don't really know what the ultimate affected is going to be there and again to be clear what this is measuring is what experts think is the actual number of cases not the number of cases. That would be actually diagnosed via attest to as of that time. Other interesting thing out of this. These experts believed that there might be a little bit longer of a tail to the outbreak than is commonly being thought of a Lotta people including the government have talked about the government's of various states and cities have talked about. You know this is going to be the bad week. We're getting into the peak of the curve and these experts don't necessarily agree with that April May and June were each given more than a twenty percent chance of being the month for hospitalizations. I think that's usually a a pretty good. The number of hospitalizations at a given time is especially when we're talking about intially overwhelming healthcare services and leading to some of these negative outcomes that we're talking about in the previous segment that these experts at least seem to think that we could be a little bit further out for that now. Nobody really has any idea of what when we're actually going to reopen what the effect of that is going to be. What level of testing and contact tracing? We're GONNA have at that point so my guess would be that. That's where a lot of that uncertainty comes in. You know with these experts at forty two percent chance thinking that they're not gonNA peak a hospitalizations until after June first presumably. That's tied to the idea of some kind of reopening and relaxing restrictions. And having it not be done in the way that it needs to and having a another outbreak. I don't know about you. I would be surprised if we just. We maintain the same social distancing that we've had and then the outbreak still peaks in June. That seems like a little bit longer of period. I would expect unless there are some new reopening causing a second spike. I wonder if they're taking that and we know there's a lot of unknowns and moving targets to these kinds of projections but Thinking about a peak after June. I just recapping things. We've talked about on different episodes here. We know there's an incubation period. That can be over a week. Maybe two weeks that's pretty well established and then once you get into that hospital system after your symptoms and your actual Disease Kicking in on your illness kicking in you go into the hospital system you can be in there for a while so. I wonder I can understand where we were in the middle of April. Right now I can understand thinking. Hey at least a month away I do. I am kind of interested that June I would be. That's what six weeks away from where we are. Yup I wonder how much of that has to do with other cities only very recently or other states. Only very recently locking down because six weeks from the point of lockdown isn't too out of bounds with what we've seen in places like Europe so I I I don't know that's just speculation but I think for the places that have locked down to think all the way to June first does seem like if things are kept under wraps the way they are now That would that would require something else. Like maybe a second way I. I don't know I'm just spitballing here. Yeah no I mean. There's obviously a lot of reasons for uncertainty of. What did Doctor Fauci? I have to say about the We'll get your Italian. Chinese will do French. We'll all the names down before we're done with this project Doctor has said that quote unquote gradual rollbacks could begin next month that in May Just to quote him here. He said we're hoping at the end of the month. That would be the end of April. We can look around and say. Is there any any element here? We can safely and cautiously start pulling back on if so let's do it if not just continue to hunker down and he also noted that there's GonNa be a dependence on what the situation is in each area of the country and His quote was. It's not going to be a light switch. Yeah my thought on. This is what we better have testing and contact tracing totally straightened out to where experts really believed that we can. Do you know for example. Scott Gottlieb put out the figure of seven hundred. Fifty thousand tests said a week that you put out there. Oh where we are. Currently well no that he wants to get to the. That's what he believes. The key required capability would be per week. I think depending on how you do it it might even be higher right because I think it should be higher. Because Kim California alone was going for in the hundreds of millions of tests over a relatively short period right. Yeah so I mean but to me reopening in any substantial way you know maybe it's like okay. You can go see your friends at their house in a group of four. Who have walked. But even then you're really risking a lot in terms of people misinterpreting That into all right now you can go have a party with twenty people your friend's House and get these super spreading events again but to me if you don't really have the testing that is required and you reopen. Then you get into the situation where you could easily start having community transmission again and you don't know where people are getting the virus from. Who who they're passing it to and also I mean the other thing to me is better. Just not be having any more community transmission before. You're going to reopen as well because once more if you're the problem is with how difficult to detect this viruses if you're going to be having outbreak that you don't have a tough handle on very difficult to get that with this long incubation period and also within the long onset of symptoms it's It's going to be very difficult to safely reopen anything without that so And frankly I haven't really been convinced that we're on a path to getting that type of testing capability and contact tracing capability whether it's virtual or in person on the timeline. Where near the end of this month something like that anywhere will be ready to reopen. That's at least from what I've seen. Maybe they're doing more than I've seen but I'm I'm skeptical there. Well I think that's also why he's a little vague with these kinds of comments right. He's saying like if if certain things certain things what you know it was not going to be a light switch. So what is it going to be? We've talked about this a decent amount so we don't have to Belabor it but certainly you would need a plan and a certain amount of capacity with your infrastructure to succeed in implementing that plan and. I'm not sure exactly what those things are yet. One thing I'll add on this too is that I. I think I've seen this so much in the media it just in conversations that I'm having with people that I know everyone really wants to be optimistic. This sucks yet like we're we are looking for any way out of this whether it's certain cures vaccines the time. Line for the vaccine's being able to reopen again. Get back to normal all this economic pain that we're going through etcetera etcetera and I so desperately want that to be true. I'm trying to almost self-correct when I'm looking at stuff at this point to be like. Hey you know what like? Don't be too optimistic. If there is a story that is offering that things you know whether it's on the health front door economy a reopening. Whatever I'm trying to be doubly skeptical that because everyone has the incentive to peddle that narrative right now people desperately want to hear that they wanna hear good news. That's just how we are and so might vice you as you're reading? Sof hearing news reports. Whatever it is like just wait try. Try Not to get too excited about some of these things until they really become the consensus of the scientific community right. I mean we just we want to find one. Study out man. This could be it just. We're going to have to be patient. That's the nature of the sparse. It just takes too long In terms of some of these outcomes to really be making being conclusions about what's going to work and what's going to enable us to reopen right now a lot of these cases yeah and one more point on that the CDC had a study this week on transmission looking at ICU ICU's in hospitals and things like that and they basically found that. Hey maybe we should be looking at this thing as having a range of thirteen feet versus the recommended. Six feet It's getting all over your shoes. You're tracking places. It's all over the equipment and so even though we want to be optimistic to the conversation we just had. If you were to say let people go back over as we've discussed before in other episodes all that close transmission or being you know within a couple of feet of people spending a lot of time in their space. This is the kind of thing that potentially could open transmission rates back up and increase them. So there's A. There's a desire for that optimism. I think we all have but a certain amount of measured nece and prepared. This is probably what's ideal right now. Well here this story that we're about to talk about can totally counteract any optimism man I'M GONNA Use San Francisco as a lens to talk about this issue but obviously it's one that really hits home and a lot of areas of the country and that is the issue of cove nineteen and the homeless population which the the homeless issues that we've had a particularly in the bay but many other places as well. I really a national shame. At least as far as I'm concerned and now we're going to have to confront some of these issues because once again I mean we're kind of both on a national scale in terms and even a worldwide scale. We can only go back to normal when this is contained everywhere and the homeless population has been overlooked for a long time. But I think one of the biggest fears when we first found out about this is how this is going to devastate the homeless population. And we're starting to see that now. In San Francisco there are now seventy cases in a homeless shelter. That has three hundred sixty eight residents as loosely as you can use that term. Unfortunately and two staffers in that showing you the explosive potential when a quarter of the people in the shelter are testing positive. And you would imagine. They're probably more cases incubating at this point. There are a couple of cases they tested everyone in it and found out that there were seventy who tested positive and let's keep in mind too that false negative issue if you've got thirty percent false negative you're testing that whole population and they're all at at risk. The number is probably going to be even higher than that. So the question that California's been grappling with other governments reme- grappling with is. How do you take care of the homeless population? I mean it's almost like Ben is the only way I can come up with for dealing with that. Are almost basically you have to deal with the issue of homeless itself? Yeah Yeah Yeah I mean if we go back a couple of weeks and this was something that's been on the radar especially here in California. Where in our major cities you're up in the bay down here in Los Angeles. We have large homeless populations. Unfortunately and governor newsome had talked about plans to open up hotels to provide aid for those services and then to your point to me. I had the exact same reaction which is wow. You really have to look at tackling the entire issue even if just in the short term which gets a little bizarre for me. But you know you have to say to handle this In the way that is probably the safest for them and everybody involved. You almost have to tackle the entire thing itself. Which is you know providing shelter providing care providing services providing food all the sort of peripheral things that go with that and all the resources that go with that absolutely and even just putting everyone together in a shelter wall. That's not going to help you reduce the number of cases and I. It's important to really try to and I'm lucky enough to never been in the situation but to the extent that we can really think about what it is like for a homeless person in this crisis. Right I mean I. It comes out the shelter in place. Order comes out and you know. That's certainly a bitter joke. Hall of these guidelines for people even communicating that to them is going to be something. That's really is going to take some outreach. You know many homeless people don't have a phone where they're looking at the news every day for example Or a TV to to see the latest news and you say you stop congregating and art will. Is that realistic? Just stay in your tent all day and don't talk to anyone. I mean the only solace that many people these interacting with other people within this vulnerable.

"I decided that I wanted to do this. Series now not sure. We'll make through all thirty teams but and hopefully we'll be back to basketball quickly enough that we don't make it through all thirty teams but I'm thinking under most circumstances. Were probably not gonNA have a chance to do. All thirty team previews the way we usually do. So I WANNA start having some people on to talk about teams season so far to a season interview which is somewhat of a privilege. We wouldn't normally get to look back on seasons this way because the focus after the season's over is always on the next season so Let's start off here with Anthony. Slater of the athletic. I do good. I'm one of the cover one of the few teams that you can do this and kind of comfortably wrap up an entire season without worrying about like you know. How are the playoffs? GonNa look our the final seventeen games gonNA look cannon know how their season when the last stretch that got. We'll say canceled at this point. At least stopped didn't really matter. They were kind of playing out the string so we kind of have a full season. Look Yeah and If you're more interested in the wears off these actually one on slater's podcast. Last week of the workers already to podcasts on the athletic podcast network. If you WANNA just catch up still on what happened with this team. The idea here is we will talk about how some of the young players did how we feel about the organization after this year to stuff like that. So let's begin with this question. Give this team a grade for the season. Am I including like their moves in the offseason? Are we just counting? What when game one to game whatever it was fifty seven or something? Yeah that's an interesting one right. I think compared to what we thought was going to happen at the start of the year. I guess what would you say? What would you give them a Gumede? I you know the record is terrible. Fifteen and You know at the start of the season we were talking about five hundred. Six hundred seventy 'cause they squeeze in could Klay Thompson. Somehow you know. Come into the fold in April and they make some you know title run or at least you know contending run and that sounds ridiculous. In retrospect that was our thought But part of that was Steph. Curry got hurt in the third game. Sir Fourth Game of the season you know So I mean if you just look at a record D F If you KINDA put it all into context and add the steph curry injury which in a lot of ways I think was strangely. Kind of you know you. Don't like the Steph. Curry broke his hand and got a potential a little nerve damage in there but it it really allowed them to take the step back. They kind of needed to and the expectations were lowered to a point where they could just use it as a teaching season. So I don't know I would probably go with me because I actually think in a weird way. This restart as bad as they played on. The court was kind of good for them overall. So I I mean it's a strange season a great. I don't know you'd go with yet. It is tough. I mean you'd think just with the record you'd have to go with an F. If you wanted to take the seasons of players like dream on green compared to what we thought that are capable. That's probably close to an F. Who WE GIVE Z? Was LIKE SLEEPING? Like of and Yeah and de Ngelo Russell. That that obviously didn't work out. I mean they got about him right but I mean if you were going to just say. Hey they've still got g ngelo Russell they still got draymond green to recent all-stars quote unquote You'd think they could have been better than the worst team in the League. And even if you look at what they were doing before curry got hurt. I mean just getting completely destroyed in three of their first four games and the only team. They beat a team that started six and twenty two then. Yeah I think you're You'd have to say it's down like the the F. Range but I mean the so just in terms of like. How did these play on the floor of the streaming there? Certainly were some bright spots. We'll get to that but I mean there are expected by most people to make the playoffs. I thought they were more likely than not to miss it. But I still thought they'd be in the forty games. What's curious is to think of the alternate path. Where Steph doesn't get hurt and like where were they sitting when the season was suspended you know I think the five hundred Because that eight cedars v. what's crazy is we were wondering if they could sneak in this like Super Competitive West. But you now were just average. If they're five hundred they would've been in the running for the eight seed in you know maybe suddenly or maybe we were talking about Klay Thompson potentially trying to rush back for a playoff run again. what happened to the warriors has nothing to do with you. Know the cove in nineteen situation that would happen regardless we'd be sitting in a suspended season But if they if Steph doesn't get hurt maybe they do put themselves in playoff contention and then now suddenly we're talking about if they restarted the season in June. Hey they could be kind of like people are talking about the nets dark horse. Contender of Kevin durant suddenly comes back. Like we'd be having that conversation about clay But Again I. The weird thing is yes. Competitively F. D. F. Whatever you WANNA give him on the court But I think as you know three years from now look back at this season. You know. We'll say overall it probably wasn't a terrible thing for them to go through. Yeah and I I was going to save this question to later but since you brought it up. Do you feel better or worse about this team's long-term future now than you did before the season I would probably say better Because I think they solve the Kinda Russell positional confusion They have got their wing of the future. Now we can talk about if that was the proper guy to get But I think they are a better team for. Let's throw the contract numbers at the window for now. I think there are better team with Andrew wiggins playing thirty minutes than de Ngelo Russell kind of trying to squeeze in as a third guard and still get thirty minutes in his defensive problems So I think they're better there. I mean before the season Klay Thompson was very early in his. Acl Rehab now. He's basically in the very late stages of his ACL Rehab I feel worse about Draymond Green. Which is a big thing Steph curry is Steph. Curry got a lot of rest would be a good argument for him. He also had a pretty severe broken hand. It wasn't just like Oh. You know a little nick there that he can recover from. I mean we're legitimately talking about potential nerve damage. Although he remember the weird thing about all this member Steph curry played a game. It was just like drops in there like a little sprinkle games so weird And he was really good in it and like the left member he was just like whipping lefty passes with it. I mean you look pretty good. Looks like to himself. I mean the biggest thing about him is like as long as teams are still scared. Scared of him. He's going to be really good. Yeah and we'll get to Eric Paschal. I'm sure because he's probably the brightest spot of the season but They've got a rookie. When you pick twenty eight thirty nine forty one as they did last year you really. I mean obviously you want to hit. But if one of those picks hits as like a firm definite they believe rotation piece into the future. I think that's a win. And they got a win Eric. Pascal's will win so I feel I feel a little bit better. I would say well I think you would add in the fact that they have a huge asset that they had no way of getting before which is going to be this twenty twenty drik yet not agreed draft but still at a minimum. They could trade that for another starter level player at minimum if they wanted to do that. I don't know if they probably will shoot higher than that. I would imagine but it have that asset as well. Yeah it's a good point you get you get that asset which remember that you know if they suddenly had a if they somehow had a really good seasoning. Stephan stayed healthy and they were a top ten team. Let's say they had the you know the got the twenty first overall pick that's going to Brooklyn in In the DURANT IS RUSSELL. Scientists who keeping that first rounder was important and the fact that that first round is now going be guaranteed top five. This huge Also would happen this season in the Andrew Wiggins the Enzo Russell swap. They got Minnesota's twenty twenty one first rounder which I believe you and Danny have deemed like the best first round. Pick in the future. That's been moved. So that is a huge asset. That could eventually be added to like the seventeen point two million dollar trade exception this summer and they traded away a bunch of their vets. Willie Cauley Stein Glen Robinson Alec burks like the these rentals and they got second rounders now. That's not huge assets. But they were entering the season I think with only one of their second rounders over the next seven seasons now suddenly they have like six second rounders one thing that has gone worse though obviously is that they may be more affected by the cove nineteen crisis and revenue loss than some other teams because a lot of their revenue is based on having built the chase center having these luxury boxes having these concerts and other events in addition to worse games They did obviously get out of the tax for this year so they won't pay the repeater tax next year but Joe Lake had a recent interview with death lettuce. Tim Kyle comment saying how he's going to have to reevaluate and see where they're at financially before we know if he can really do the full pedal to the metal spending that that seventeen million dollars. Trade exception the mini mid level next year up to ten million dollars an extra salary from their first round draft. Pick Whether they can go as hard. They're if they can't that's really gonNA hamstring them. Because I was kind of the whole plan was they could ramp up the spending again next year. It will what's interesting is they. Were already not pumping in the revenue. That was expected right because when they built the building there were expecting this Kevin Durant infused dynasty to to still be kinda roaming the land That was going to be a lot of obviously hyped up regular season games that would have made them more money in the more important thing that probably would have been A. Let's say twelve fifteen playoff home games that they were already not gonNA get pre crisis regardless I for them to not make the playoffs. This season was unforeseen when they were building the building So but I mean when you actually look at the crisis if if if what happens is just that this last half of the rate or this last little bit of the regular season gets knocked off the only lost seven home games you know that will end up losing. Let's say twenty. It's around like twenty five million or so Great but not catastrophic. They lose concerts canceling these concerts in the summer. The that's that's a little trickles of money that they're missing out on but I think if you could guarantee them forty one home games next season that starts editor around. When it's supposed to you know October November range. I think they're fine. Because they they're going to reboot and come back and they didn't lose that much money they spend big but can we guarantee that at this point I mean. That's that's the problem. I mean you have this. I think it was what the Santa Clara Somebody that matters in Santa Clara said Thanksgiving is like the date for sports. Potentially to retire. Yeah I live sports. Yeah Yeah I mean that's when we're talking about the war is making money. It is putting on huge events at Chase Center. And they they don't know when that's coming back and that is going to matter. Joe Lake of talking about like he doesn't know yet like that's going to matter like do they. Go out and use this huge trade exception the mid level do they really round out a rotation that kind of needs to be rounded out and it also seems like all the governmental authorities. California's probably going to be the most reticent of any to start allying business as usual which I think is the correct decision for public health but also is going to negatively impact the warriors bottom line. What do you think are the biggest things are here? Actually take a quick break first. And then we go la more questions to get to WanNa tell you about Ron. Which makes the best active wear that I've encountered?.

"From Warriors headquarters in terms of I dig last. We heard from you guys about a week ago. You an Bob Myers held a conference call. I think at that time everybody in your organization I think was was fine was healthy And and you guys were pretty clear about that. You weren't going to have any preemptive testing for the corona virus Any updates on any of that since we last heard from you guys know nothing's changed we We don't have anybody who has a come down with the symptoms and therefore we haven't at anybody who has been tested for the virus so nothing's changed on that front. It's been an interesting debate. Steve I mean I could see this from both ends where you know if teams have been contact with you know a player or another team that had positive tests or that had somebody who who was symptomatic like it makes sense if you can avail yourself of it to go ahead and get those tests done and then of course there's been this backlash including The mayor here in New York De Blasio who was angry about the nets having these tests and I mean you guys took a pretty clear stance here looking at bombers quote from last week where he says you know. We're treating ourselves like people. We're not better than anybody who I just a basketball team like anybody else up until of our doctors a we shouldn't be testing a symptomatic people. So it's very sensitive to that that that sense out there. How do you view this yourself as being part of this league to the were obviously different teams kind of took a different approach to this? Yeah and and Each team and each case seems to be unique. You know unto itself I mean I know the The Oklahoma City Utah Game. The was the first game. Cancel that really Stops his whole season from what I gather. It was the state of Oklahoma and insisted on testing everybody Because they were obviously they were Presiding over over everything. Even the game was in Oklahoma City. And you had players who were infected and so that's that's totally different from the warriors without having any known players infected or or showing symptoms. That's totally different from us. Saying No. We're not going to to test So I think every case is different and we all have to handle our own business our own case and obviously the What what would make this a lot simpler if we just had widespread testing and that it seems like you know from everything we're reading. That's what needs to happen in order to really get a handle on this and and for the experts to timmy. No advise us on what's next and so I'm hoping like we all are that Testing will be more widespread as we as we go forward. Yeah I think this is the thing where I understand where some of the backlash people's frustration comes from because there hasn't been widespread availability of testing. And so when people think we are review people in a position of privilege celebrities athletes whoever as as quote unquote jumping the line. I get the the the frustration there but I feel like it's a little misplaced in that. The real problem is that we just don't have enough testing period. And that's because this country dragged its feet when we had plenty of forewarning and and had time to build up that supply. I feel like a just personally. Direct your anger at the folks who did not do enough proactively before you start getting frustrated with NBA players but agreed and this and if if it were me. And I knew I'd been in close proximity to somebody who was symptomatic. I found out later and someone said I've got this test here for you. I mean I don't know what I would do if I don't take that test. It's not like it's going to be available for the person down the street so I don't know it's it's it's tough well and what's making it more difficult from from a moral standpoint is. We're finding out that people who are a symptomatic Can Be carriers yes And and can pass the virus on to the next person so None of us really know if we're infected or not until we're tested and So yeah I mean this all comes back to our capacity to test in huge numbers and and you know it's got to be something that is you know at least being attempted by our government. I that's the one thing you can't really can answer on how. How's the testing coming along? How many tests are going to be available? It seems like we don't really have a clear answer on that. No and even even after all this time it feels like we're still kind of in the dark on that and and it's skewing the numbers. We don't really know what the the true spread of. This is right now so a the rest of this for your players. Everybody's healthy they are. I guess probably some still in the bay area. I think everybody's been freed to to leave. Obviously so how are you guys is organization keeping tabs on? You know what you guys are doing their training regimen to whatever extent. They can do stuff not everybody hesitant home setup or even access to a basketball net. I was talking to Danny Green last week. And he's down in Manhattan beach and he doesn't have he doesn't have a court to shoot at right now unless he could go find a court somewhere but you know. Public gyms are closed clubs or closed. The team practice facilities are closed. What are you guys doing to make sure your guys are staying not just in shape but but maybe being able to get some shots up? Well nothing unfortunately I mean. There's there's nothing we can and especially in San Francisco. Most of our players live relatively close to the practice facility near downtown so there's not much space and You know originally. We thought we'd have the practice civility and we were making plans for guys to come in and get shots up and then the facility was shut down about a week ago along with everything else in San Francisco and So at this point it's just you know. Stay inside stay safe. Most of our players are in in San Francisco. We have a few that are not but There's there's really nothing we can. Do you look for us In our season is basically over. If the League word is somehow start up again very very unlikely we we would play regular season games given the such a time. Crunch I you know I could hills but I'm feeling for all the teams that you know are in the fight in the thick of it for a championship You know a veteran. The playoff teams that Have put so much into this and this was obviously a year for us where you know we were trying to get healthy and try to try to develop some young guys so I I'm not. I'm not concerned about our guys are team. I feel sorry for the teams that are kind of in limbo right now. Yeah I'm with you like I feel like the idea that these last regular season games. It's anywhere between sixteen and Nineteen depending on the team. That the idea that those are worth salvaging or the team that the league should go to great lengths to salvage them feels to me like a stretch like if you could just get a semblance of playoffs in and still have a champion crowned then. You've you've done pretty well. Given where we are. And given all the uncertainty that still hanging over the League and obviously society at large but the idea of trying to salvage those games feels like a stretched to me. Which yeah I mean if you and I are are are right if that you know if that's the way this goes than than you guys already done and so maybe it doesn't matter but it does seem like four whether it's you know whether is regular season or whether it's a straight to playoffs. I cannot imagine what kind of shape guys will be in in a month or two months or whenever it is that it it starts up again and During the lockouts you know you and I have both witnessed and in ninety eight and two thousand eleven at least guys had access to gyms and there were pickup games and everything else that just this is completely different. I do think there's a possibility of guys coming back. Just not only not in shape. It's not basketball shape and and the possibility for injury again. All these things. Big Asterisk of there are bigger concerns right now in the world right but we talk about the NBA so I think from an MBA standpoint. This seems like a particularly high challenge. it is. It's a huge challenge and I think we all have a lot of faith in Adam and NBA leadership. And I know they'll they'll do the right thing whatever that means and you know hopefully for for the NBA for the for the fans. Hopefully there is something that ends up happening here. Some kind of playoffs some semblance of a season and and if it does then I would think there'd be ample time for players to to practice and get get back in some some kind of conditioning before the game started but as you said this is all sort of what if and and way down a list of what's really important as we know what would seem stranger to you. Season that ends without a champion. If this word just put this they just had to close the books and say we can't do it or the idea of going all the way into maybe August or even September. In which case now you have to push back next season. How much contemplated those those possibilities? Yeah I mean I. I don't think either one is something that the League wants to do. Obviously but this is the situation. We're in I think we would all prefer to see some kind of play off where everybody who's in at least has a chance to compete. And and if I pushed the season back so be it I think I think I would prefer to see that And it would even allow the League to experiment a little bit if they wanted with the playoff format or the the start start date for the next season. Whatever that might may be. That could be helpful. You know down the road so I'm hoping for that but We'll we'll just have to wait and see Ya. It's interesting. It was just a couple of weeks ago at the Sloan Conference a conference. Now that I'm now convinced probably should not have happened in that. I should not have been in attendance at that. That was when they had the panel. Discussion where Steve Kuhnen from. The Atlanta Hawks floated out this idea of. Hey look if we were starting from scratch. Maybe we would start at Christmas. Maybe we would play the season into the summer and we would avoid the NFL in the fall and early winter months. And we could you know reimagined this whole thing and Lo and behold..

"Think I'll ever forgive Howie for not taking Dalvin Cook will they. They love to okay I I will say that. They did reportedly loved Alvin Coke and that was known pretty well before the draft. But S- Minnesota if you remember jumped jumped up to forty one to get cook. You know presumably in front of the Eagles who sat at forty three and took Sidney Jones who was was He got sat last week in favor of a street. Free agent now they did missiles from guys who went right after that for sure but Like I do think that they would have taken Alvin Cook if he was there at forty three. The problem is then do anything after that. You know you you wait Now and you wait and you wait instead of going after a Joe Mixon who admittedly had some character concerns. Coming out of school or Alvin Kamara. who had you know he was a workload issue? Guy Didn't have a big sample size and college and also there are some some off the field stuff you let those guys let those guys go and Instead and Kareem Hunt Cream hunt all he did was set the NFL record for most total yards game by an offensive player in his first game. They they wait and they take to know. Paul Frey was the next. Darren sproles Chris not even not even the best running back on his roster at that point because Rashaad penny would be a first round pick a year later and bust admittedly to this point of the seahawks. Yeah Penny any kind of has a tough tough goat. Yes because Chris Carson seventh-round isn't that Paul Frey draft. Yeah but Carson's arsons obviously established himself in Seattle as the much better option. I agree that's what I'm saying is that there was still plenty of runningback talent on the board it was just not identified and you have the concern that how he gets a lot of credit for his contracts and justifiably so he's he's very good in terms of contracts in uncapped management but his pro amateur scouting has left a lot to be desired. Yes one thousand percent. Yes I think that he gets a ton of praise for the way he deals with the actual current players but are are scouting. Just stinks I. That's the reason why bring up like who are these guys that he's hitting on because it's it's just not a it never seems to work out. It never seems to work out. We constantly instantly miss him in the first round picks. We've usually been pretty good on. I I get that Put as you keep digging deeper and deeper into this and seeing guys who were missing out on and I'm not talking talking. Oh we took this guy in the third round but this guy went in the seventh round guys to go right around people we picked. We did it a couple of weeks ago with the Theta whiteside thing in the receivers that were drafted around him. It's it's nearly impossible to be this bad. I don't know I I just don't know how we can continue to to do this would Yeah I mean obviously anybody can play the if we'd only picked game but how about in that twenty seventeen draft. How different would things be if say we went when Moreland Humphrey in the first round instead of Derek Barnett? And he went. Say Juju Smith Schuster in the second round instead of Sidney Jones and you went say Chris Godwin in the third round instead of Russell. Douglas or even James Connor you think the teams a little bit different at this point. It's just a tiny bit. I don't know it's it's always a hard game to play but it's it's just frustrating Washington team weakened and week out under perform. Well I get confused and we're going to get off the eagles second but I always get confused by teams. That don't identify talent on a college team when they're clearly scheduling that team a ton and there's a really big instance of that in Philadelphia Right. Now they spent the year fascinated with Andre Dillard just assassinated and paid no attention to their quarterback who went after we selected Clayton Thorson in the fourth round. I think you would feel a little bit better having gardener. I think Gardner Menchu's a little bit overrated and maybe even a lot over rated but unquestionably this gene ably. He's an NFL level quarterback Clayton. Thorson is not that not even a tiny bit. How a tiny bit? How do you not see that when you're watching all this film that's my question? Just I don't I don't know I don't know how you are unable to figure that out and realize that that this is not the guy like you look at a guy like Thorson. A plate at north western northwestern was never good. I Know College. Success doesn't always mean gene. NFL success but it's just it's just infuriates Kodaka. He's no Mike Kaffa his just Andy Reid. Eh Bavaro Super Bowl odds KAFFA. Yeah right even thought of that name. I think.

"Well, guess what? You could still win rings. No matter what the money is. He just win the. Nicer case. It's interesting, though, real quick, that you brought up the fact should he have politics four because we were talking about this. We were over at the SEC baseball tournament. Not too long ago about teams politicking about their case to get in, and I find it almost like if you politic it hurts your case. Right. Hey, Klay Thompson said man, I deserve to be all in be I deserve to be all this all that. I'd imagine Royce, you and your brethren who actually voting you're probably would have taken to that, right? Yeah. It's kind of a shameless, you know, you of go outside and you try to like self promote. We don't necessarily love that sort of thing. I think the other element to it is a lot of times. Peter you get stuff in the mail from teams they promote their guys PR departments. They do that in Heisman Trophy. Stuff, and you'll get some weird backpack that says like Anthony Davis put the team on his back. Here's why he deserves a vote. But the, the element of it is kind of awkward is because the warriors it's actually better for them that Klay. Didn't get this because they don't have to pay him that much money decide between dream on. So like did the warriors say, like let's not get anything from I didn't get a free folder from the Golden State Warriors golden there. "You know what's going on in the NBA and, and the inevitable, according to most March of the Golden State Warriors to the NBA finals has completed the Western Conference swing and now awaits, the winners of the Eastern Conference between Toronto and Milwaukee, this went exactly and I mean, exactly how it needed to go for the Golden State Warriors. They came back. One after being down again, it, it again, reaching for stats here and trying to make a story line out of four. Nothing sweep the factor matter. Is it, it, it the warriors have better basketball team going into finals for the fifth straight year, and they on the trail trailblazers voice rate? That's what it comes down to ended the game, close some of them really as a matter, you lost four nothing you can make chicken sell out of chicken. You know what trial, you want and go for the story line? I understand it. People have jobs to do, but it's a bunch of garbage, the final one seventeen one nineteen warriors overtime, the usual suspects came a big. It was a very good game. But again, Portland went ahead, the opportunity to close out in the fourth, Gordon and put it to a fifth game lost the fourth quarter twenty four six. Eighteen. Yeah. Twenty four sixteen and again way to overtime at that point in time, although everybody's legs were shot. The Golden State Warriors had just enough to get to and win against Portland. "Everyone at seven twenty three as you know, Michael the champions of the NBA are. The Golden State Warriors Golden State Warriors just going to say that lend. Well, they wanted to continue my tongue couple years in a row. Well, when they won a couple of years ago. Some you know normally teams when championships they go. Visit the White House Clemson football team went and got hamburgers at the White House right after winning their national championship in college football. Well, when they. When they won in twenty seventeen the Golden State Warriors led by Steph curry said, they would not visit the White House with Donald Trump if invited and then Donald Trump tweeted at the invitation was withdrawn after you can't come because you're not invited. So when they won this past year. There was no discussion at all about going to the White House. So the Golden State Warriors in Washington yesterday, their only appearance of the year. They're so instead they went met with Barack Obama for about an hour. Right. Kevin durant? Their star one of their star said it was amazing. So there you go. Wow. Exciting. Let me ask you though. Yeah. You covered sports all these years. I did do you think it's inappropriate for a team not to want to go to the White House when they win because they don't like the occupant. Should they just honored the presidency? The White House the invitation and not politicize it. Yes. Really? Absolutely. You think they should have gone -solutely? I think you will you you honor the the Y they'll go to the White House visiting the White House the I'd love to go to the White House right now. I think if you're so honored you go, and you leave the politics out of it. Yes. That's how I think I've always I've always been very strong strong advocate of separating sports from politics. Right. So a sensible point from Len Berman, Jose excellent. All right, online food, porn, what the hell is that? Well, so there's this company called devour, and it's got frozen foods, and they came out with an ad that they want to err on the Super Bowl. But they describe this ad is food porn. It features a frazzled food porn addict and his four Lauren wife, but apparently gets a little too little too dicey. And they won't air it. They have a thirty second version of the commercial that they're going to air during the Super Bowl and the minute unedited version, which they're saying is not safer Super Bowl is going to be online. So obviously are we gonna play the minute version. Right. This is a real gimmick. This is this is a real gimmick for them to get. Climbing this is not safe for the Super Bowl. So it's we go look at the video. It's on our website, seven ten W, R dot com slash Lennon. Michael you play a little bit for. Yes. I take requests here. My boyfriend is addicted to frozen.

"Change with the rally but if anything happened the first people you're going to hear about are the golden state warriors are the biggest names in the rally and that's unfortunate so we'd have to prepare dante on this i mean look i'm not gonna say hypocritical because he wasn't at a march steve kerr was at the march for our lives you know week or two before you know when you have the movement if you if we want to call it it's a social justice movement you have different people doing different roles everybody is not going to be out there marching even if they have time that just may not be their demeanor you don't see corporate type people for the most part out marching you at people with money they may not want to march but they may support it financially politicians and lawmakers may not be out there with people rallying and fist up in margin but they can affect it in the courtroom and then the in the justice system and things like that so you have different people with different roles i think look it would have been nice fine if they would have been out there arching maybe it would have been better but i think athletes are doing something significant when they do speak out when they do wear the t shirts because that is keeping the message in the public eye the question is is it fair to make steve kerr explain it that's the question so my answer is yes steve has fostered a political slash sports environment right i'm comfortable with that.
