"Now. The golden globes controversy is getting nasty h f p has been called out for their lack of diversity. They have zero black members. Scarlett johansson says the displayed. Sexist behavior will nbc just announced. They will not air. The show next year and tom cruise reportedly returned the trophies won over the years. What do you think about. Tom returning his awards. Would you ever do this jodi. Yeah absolutely if it was if it came from. If i got an award for something that you know it came from somewhere that has now been proven to not have diversity and i don't want the recognition from this particular group i. I actually really commend him for doing that. Says a lot and tom cruise doing it. I think Sets a precedent for other stars to not only stand up for it but also to feel comfortable in saying like i'm with i'm with these other actors. You know they they might not feel so alone ins in standing up for it. And i think it's really it's really important. I mean it's shocking. The age of p. a. has no black members. "Globe awards The night also honor the late child. Chadwick Boseman. David Daniel has the highlights from the 78 Golden Globe Awards. Even with stupid things. Inclusivity is important. And there are no black members of the Hollywood foreign press host Tina Fey in New York and Amy Poehler in Los Angeles began the 78th Golden Globe Awards, chiding the H F P A, which promised a more inclusive future, then gave the night's first two awards to black actors Daniel Columbia for Judas in the Black Messiah and John Boyega for small acts. What are you kidding me? I think you made a mistake. No mistake. Jodie Foster won her first competitive Golden Globe and nearly 30 years. Best motion picture supporting actress for the Mauritanian. Thank you. Secrecy for making the show in Canada. Thank you. Apartment looking for seriously. Catherine O'Hara's husband, Beau Welles played her off as she accepted best actress in a TV, musical or comedy for Shits Creek, which also won best TV series, musical or comedy, also winning a pair of big awards. Nomad Land Best motion picture drama and best director for Chloe Jiao. Just the second woman to win that award. Borat. Hollywood Won’t Quit the Golden Globes, Despite No Black Members and a Corruption Scandal

"Maybe this'd year's awards ceremony is wrapped in controversy because of the composition of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, The Hollywood Foreign Press Association is the group that gives out the Golden Globe Award. Unlike the Academy Awards, which are given out by the academy that's about 6000 people. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association is about 90 people, and they're all reporters. There, guys like me, men and men and women like me reporters that cover entertainment and they're the ones that give, you know, decide and give up The Golden Globe awards, but The controversy is here that it was learned that not a single member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association astonishingly is a person of color. And you know that may account for why movies like the Five Bloods the, uh, movie about my rainy my Rainey's black bottom. The movie about cash is playing Sam Cooke and This meeting of this four legendary black leaders of the sixties. Why why all these movies that are black oriented movies were not even nominated. When? In fact, they're some of the best movies of the year, you know, So there is a lot of controversy about this Golden Globes being exclusively white. S so you know, we'll see how that's gonna play out if if it does at all tonight. Amy Poehler and Tina Fey are

NYT Reporter Kyle Buchanan Discusses the Lack of Diversity in the Golden Globes

"About the Golden Globe Awards. So, he said, it's just 87 members of the Hollywood Foreign Press. Paris Press, not a single black member. When you look at the nominees, it's Golden Globes so white It's 2021. Why Is this persisting within the Hollywood foreign press? You know? Well, the Hollywood Foreign press is an extremely insular bunch. You know, the reporting in the L A Times and in the New York Times this past week has a zoo revealed that several foreign journalists you know, over the years have tried to enter this group. And have been pushed out. In fact, it almost seems like the more legitimate the journalists. The worst. Your chances are of getting to this organization, perhaps because they were You know, worried about this kind of expo? Say, um wide. Are they still making while choices Because they are a wild bunch. You know, I've met Nick Those voters. They're eccentric to put it mildly, and they really thrive. On this kind of, you know, glamour and this this feeling that they are a pivotal step on the way to Oscar and they're not willing to give up any of that influence. In fact, they try toe. You know, only expanded, but they do so in such a weird way because they are secretive. In a way, you know, there's there's not They're not. They're not out there while they are out there, you know, rubbing shoulders shaking hands took himself fees. Um, if you want to define the list of their membership, that's when the H F P A really starts to clam up because they're not representing the best and brightest of global entertainment journalism far from it there, representing Maybe the savviest and canniest people in awards season that's more their speed than been trying Tost ablest any sort of legitimate credentials. The people who make up that group. So in terms of them being homogeneous, it sounds like they don't really might not particularly care. Well, yeah, I mean, they are homogeneous in the sense that there are no black voters, which is a kind of insane thing in the year. 2021. Obviously we know that Academy, which votes on the Oscars, has been taking sweeping steps over the last few years diversify its membership, which was primarily older, white and male. Gloves have not taken any such steps. And while they are somewhat divers to be Primarily rewarding American movies. To the extent that even a film like denarii, which is American, is shunted off to the foreign film category simply because it's characters often speak Korean That is indicating that ah, wide gulf between what you're covering and what you are what you look like what you're made of who makes up this group. And I think you know if they're going to purport to speak about this industry and who deserves reward with any sort of authority, and you know it's questionable sometimes whether they do or don't have it. And they have to absolutely take a look at themselves. I guess it kind of Buchanan. We're talking to him. He's the award season columnist for The New York Times. The Golden Globes are this Sunday. So here's a bright spot. Best director for motion picture category. There are more women than men nominated several fennel for promising young woman, Regina King for one night in Miami and Chloe Jiao for Nomad Land. Do you think this is the year we could see a best director Everett at the Globes of the Oscars. I do think so. You know, I'm sure the eight FDA would much rather we focus on that category than any other And certainly, you know, I mean, such as the story of award shows and often is the story of, you know, America generally that you have progress in one respect and then two steps backward somewhere else. But, yes, it was only a couple years ago that Natalie Portman was introducing the best director category is the Golden Globes. And very pointedly said Here are the five all male nominees this year that can't be said. In fact, there's a majority of women and I do expect that Chloe job for Nomad Land will prevail even if no man land doesn't take best drama, although it has a very good shot at that. Globes and not going to miss their opportunity to reward a woman. A person of color. She will be the first woman to win the best director trophy from them since Barbara Streisand for gentle Wow. He just kicked it back far for me

"78th annual Golden Globe Awards were the nominees were announced yesterday. For the show That's airing on the 28th of this month with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler co hosting for the fourth time. I didn't notice this yesterday, but There were some snubs. Always snubs. There were some snap it up, Dubs Love is dead to me was shut out. Completely. I wasn't surprised by that. I get So I wasn't surprised because I remember. I feel like you guys weren't loving it. I feel like I liked the second season more. Then most people did. But eh, so I'm not. I'm not surprised because I didn't feel like it had the same critical acclaim that season. One did when it felt very unexpected, But I guess I would be surprised just because you think of the total Number of releases this year, which didn't seem like a ton. I don't know. I just feel like this Christina Applegate, especially and Linda Cardellini. They're just So good. There's like so much great. So many great performances out there. I get it if they were nominated in the first season, it's like, OK, we already did you let's move on to the next person Ma Rainey's black bottom, which I just watched last weekend. Did not get a best picture nomination. But Chadwick Boseman and Viola Davis did get acting nods. I think that's accurate. Sure it was You know, I know it was. I believe it was a play, right? Yes, And it felt like you were watching a play. It felt very Like what? That's a weird thing to happen. But if you're watching a play, you kind of have a different suspension of disbelief. Sure, oftentimes than you do in the, you know a movie. So, but Violet Davis outstanding. Chadwick Boseman. They did a dedication to him. Also at the end of that movie, by the way,

Carrie Snodgress Rocked in Diary of a Mad Housewife

"And this is who I want to talk to you about today. She was somebody who told me a lot about Neil Young some 20 years ago. And it was very surreal to me because in ways I don't even remember. She became my acting coach. And we spent a lot of time together talking about a lot more than the script I needed to learn. Her name was Carrie snodgress and a lot of harvest moon is about her. You know, maybe some of you heard about it. She was a tremendous actress. She was a hell of an actress. She won two Golden Globes Golden Globe Awards and only her second movie. She got best actress and best newcomer for her starring role in the movie diary of a mad housewife. In 1970, that's a movie. That's not easy to sit through. You know, particularly if you've ever hated your husband or hated the way women get treated, but this is a movie about she's the housewife of a relentlessly pissy fucking asshole of a husband and her kids are brats and psychotherapists tries to fuck her and it's just like everywhere she turns life's no good and finally she fucking snaps. But what she does in that film while she's not talking is so much more powerful than the words she was given. That's why she was nominated for best actress for the very same role a month later at the Oscars. Never before has an actress or an actor. One Golden Globes for best actor or actress and then best newcomer. It's never happened. In fact, best newcomer's gone. But Carrie was the first and last. And coming off the work I did with my coach in New York City, Mira rostova. I couldn't have asked for a better person to work with in Los

Ricky Gervais doesn't waste any time offending at Golden Globes

"I last night the Golden Globe Awards Ricky Jr vase hosting let's take a listen to a little bit of what Ricky Jr vase have the sack hello and welcome to the seventy seventh annual golden globe awards I'm with the device thank you and you'll you'll be pleased to know this the lost time I'm hosting these awards so I don't care anymore I'm joking I need to have a date if you do it in a war tonight don't use is a a platform to make a political speech right you were known positions election the public about anything you know nothing about the real world most of you spend less time in school than Greta from bugs so if you come up it's too late in the war thank you I gin when you called I'm not the regular rates pretty funny last night let's get into with Emily Justin's get call Treader over at the federals had been watching all this very closely and only good morning morning then wow this was a breath of fresh air what happened last night yeah it was really great I mean this is definitely recruiter rage stuck so and kind of what his tradition of the call gold is tennis takes no it he spares no body and that's why he's such a fun house the golden globes by that ask them back on again the group because of like the two zero Lisa from Arkansas or shows good fit for them but I thought lessons with little bit different and he actually confronted Hollywood over her one scene in doctrine for being friends with Jeffrey after he can't really just went down the list and he even went on the thing about big tax you know he said that all like to think you're so work so well but look at the company you work for apple and Amazon and Disney and so this is really have a contract in Hollywood Hollywood on some of its biggest blind spots and right to the face of the clock we close it was really really something to watch so is this part of a new trend that we're starting to see we saw Dave Chapelle come out with a very very edgy special for Netflix and got rave reviews from certain factions but not from others but is this what we're going to start to see we're gonna start to see comedians push back against this woke Hollywood that we say oh yeah absolutely I mean is even saris special but came out last year even the shovel who's really best known for having both performance at the White House correspondents dinner a couple years back her new stand up special actually sort of pushes back on some of the the the new rules political correctness and so I think there's a classic comedian and it is a lot of comedians frankly who are so tired of the new rules that their new specials reflect that they're really starting to concentrate on back in their teens so this is something that we're seeing you know become a lot more widespread I think it shows that the momentum has really turned in the battle against political correctness of within the cultural battles and close critical political correctness because comedians you know there's a lot that were hit hardest by some of the stuff I remember Jerry Seinfeld thank you would go to college campus anymore and so they really have been out front fighting this fight and your vases totally been one of the I. with the greatest comedians throughout last night absolutely requested that yeah but then the palace guards closing ranks I you see websites like vox which is a liberal website they came out with an article in advance of Ricky Gervais is hosting last night and and trying to attack Ricky Jr vase for all of his offensive jokes in the past there is clearly a category of liberal writer and thought leader I guess who is very opposed to this type of breaking ranks yeah it's funny I mean he's already gotten some criticism from the last of them like what twelve hours I've seen a lot of entertainment site hosts some sort of like they're criticizing him basically saying tired schtick it's not funny all those jokes are all the same but I don't think that's how a lot of the viewers the host I think there's a reason that he was asked back to the golden globes especially it's just so funny that Hollywood invite him to basically skewer Hollywood's every give his case it's because it's actually really energy unit called about well so those critiques that it's not funny someone I think we're totally flat and I expect that most people were watching last night were very but the people who were watching last night were not the target of the jokes they were the people who were in on the joke switches which is us we've we've been bemoaning the fact that Hollywood isn't funny anymore Saturday Night Live is another one suddenly in the last couple of months or so Saturday's life has become funny because they're starting to to I guess poked a finger at themselves now they're starting to point the finger at themselves now we haven't seen that in a long time from them so what's happening is and if we remember back to literally go Saturday Night Live remember Christmas episode song lists the cast All I Want for Christmas is you to Robert Muller and it was just a moment of their total perfectly calculation of the lack of self reflection how unfunny become and a year later do you really start to see that self awareness that showing up in some of the sketches and I think the trump era has forced Hollywood to confront some of its insularity and you reduce your interesting moment once the orders that you put the idea was that you guys are qualified about politics because that was on the school greens Greta son Burke it and so I think there's been something of the truckers kind of forced them because there's so much talk about all the stuff that's at the front center of the cultural conversation forced them to kind of record with their role with everything now again that doesn't mean that all of them are listening to Trish are cut Michelle well you spoke a very political acceptance speeches right very liberal acceptance because I mean the show Williams who is reportedly pregnant by the way went on tires that it's about portents of abortion it doesn't mean that everybody's listening but I do think you are start starting a few more people

"Stewart Golden Globe award winning actress and filmmaker Isabel Russell Leaney is the ringmaster in her delightful. One woman one dog show tied link link circus with the hunter theater project is a Bill and her dog pan explore the emotional intelligence and behavior of animals and reveal that we humans have a lot more in common than we think. Let's listen to a clip from the show animal sound will record it and play back to the difference pieces. And they had different reactions to different sounds, for example, if a chicken sees a hawk she would not Lert. Yeah. That she can with this sound. From all the chicken. The bushes away from the danger from above. But if the dangerous from below a snake or a cat, this won't be the sound danger from below and all the chickens will come up on trees to be away from the dangers from below link. Circus is running from April eighteenth through may third at the Frederick low theater at hunter college Elza, Belarus Leany. Welcome to all of it. It's great to be here with you. So I love this that you went back to school to get your masters in animal behavior and conservation. Actually, what moved you to do that. I always wanted to do it. You know when it was the right age to do it after. High school really animal behavior wasn't available in Italy. It is vanity new science. There was some classes in America. Not that many maybe more advanced in England. So I was limited. I speaking either. So I when I was the right age to go and study animal behaviour, it wasn't really available. So it remained by Hoppy? I always read about it. Whenever I went on holiday. I tried to go to national park Faris or zoos, I went to conference to hear about animal behavior. But I never really studied it for many. And then one day when I was older, my children were growing up in the we're in Tolman was working as a model and also an actress, I attended a conference at hunter college about animal behavior, and they were with temple Graydon fantastic lady that you might know about it if designs she's a great advocate of animal welfare. And they were handing out a little pamphlet that says we just opened a master degree program on animal behavior in conservation. And that is what I always wanted to do since. I since I was so I signed up that evening right there on the spot right there on the spot, and they were very kind at hunter college because they understood it was. A woman working that. Yes. I have children are independent, but still I have mama's responsibilities. So I couldn't really finished my mastery two years, but they allowed me to finish it in five years. So I took it very slowly one course at the time. And he's a great pleasure to study when you're older because you study for the curiosity, you know, when you starting what you young you still have to study and and make a career monetize. But when you study when you're old is just a fulfill your curiosity. That's it and used to school allows you for to that path that because he takes long you can cram in a lot of examining and they did. So I'm very grateful to hunter college. Make made my dream come true since my dreams go, and you just completed your thesis. I just completed might these ended it in four days ago on my gosh, what did that feel like what did it feel like a hand in your thesis? I couldn't believe it. You know? I was never a good student when I was young. And I never thought that I could be a good student. But I think I am now a good student dissipate afraid, Stu, it's funny. You knew most of 'em wilted and the teachers, but I am a little bit intimidated by the school. And I think it comes from when I was in to grow not being a good student and still lingers with me. Mike. I'm very diligent. Always you know that my papers dawn override over study. My guess is available Seleny we're talking about links acts talking about animal behavior. And now, we'll talk about link surface circus. So was your work was your was your course of study. Did that cause you did that was that the creative spark for? In a way, you know. It was funny. I think that I come from a family family of interesting. My mother it was Ingrid. Bergman a wonderful actress did films like Blanca, notorious, my father was a film director that made very important after the second World War that critical new realism because they look so realistic. They look like documentaries. But there were not they were. And so I think in treatment is in my blood more than interesting -ment narrative telling story reporting back what I have heard it must be in the family traditions storyteller. And so when a Winter University, and I started to study and satisfied these reality. And you find things are so amazing. I start I a small series of short films for San dance channel, and they became quite successful. And then they became the base of this longer monologue. My. Monologues air about an hour, fifteen minutes, and they're illustrate them with photos animation small themes that have done some of these films are in YouTube, but most most of them well, not all of them are called green porno. There is a series called green porno. But that name is so strong that now almost short films I've called green porno. But in fact, they've called mama seduce me they were different themes strategy of reproduction green foreign no seduction strategy strategies, seduce me motherhood, mama's does much instinct exist, so as I was studying was telling the way, I knew making films and interesting people. So almost all my work is comical. So link link circus how did this specific project start in? What is the name the delay the name the name link? It means that we're link with animals when Charles Darwin one hundred and fifty years ago said that in his theory of evolution that we have an ancestor in common with the apes people to create offense. They said, no, we human beings. We have nothing to do with animals. They are to prove we are different. But now if in genetics proved that in fact, we are linked so linked ink is reference to that circus is because it's interesting I mentioned it because this show is about cognition intelligence, but scientists don't like to call it intelligence to like the word condition and the word cook nation itself makes you feel like it's not going to be interesting at all that's going to be hard and a bore. So I called it circus because I wanted it to be training. And I got a dog my dog she loves to tricks. So I dressed her up as a b s a dinosaur as a chicken as she as an elephant. And she interprets for us the animals and whatever at school, so it's kind of a little circus. But instead of men dominating the animal, it's men telling linked men woman me telling we linked. Two questions about that. What is it? What does it tell you? When's the question I was working on a story about a habitat in Africa that rehabilitated chimpanzees that were rescued from cages in different parts of the world. And there I believe there. Ninety eight point six percent, genetically a very. Hope holding champions chimpanzee named Bahati which means lucky, and I had a giant Bruce amount that had to get older shots to go to Africa once and he lifted up my shirt and kissed my Bruce, and I looked in his eyes. We are the same. We are linked yet. We really out there finitely, you feel that when you're a although I've seen them in zoos and only young apes I handled and play with them. And they completely play like our children. But I'm not very familiar with apes. I don't have my feeling since I was a child I had a little dog Nanto, and I had to feeling down to was capable of thinking of reasoning stretch strategizing how to get what he wanted and that he had strong feelings that he loved cmih was withing day jumping the air that he was jealous. If I will say to another dog that he held grudges and resentment, and and yet, I was always told no it's use anthropomorphic, which is a sin in science, which is a tributing human capacity Uman feelings to animals, but I- animals behave on instinct little machine stimulus response. They don't have what we have. But the science of animal behavior, which I said, he's recent has proven in the last forty years that in fact, they can't think they can. Can feel they have emotion in even didn't do specifically studies on cognition and emotion of animals speculated that the res as as more intelligence that we are there. No doubt about that. But the difference is of degree not kind. It's something we have in common that there is a link. My guest is Abella Rossellini linked circus is her project with the hunter theater project at the Frederick Lowes theater at hunter college from April eighteenth through may third link circus. The star is your dog pan. Yes. Him penatta pen. Yes. Had mean, she is she is incredibly good on stage. She thinks she's she's teeny. Because I had to have a dog that was small because I take theater everywhere. We went to Europe from Spain to Greece to England to Italy too, France. And I wanted to talk to travel with me on the plane. I wanted a dog that had patches and floppy is tell you why there is something very strange. We don't have an answer yet. But it's coming domestic animals often have patches think of cow think of goat's think of dogs, but they're wild relatives. They don't have patches floppy years is too. Same thing dog comes from wolf, but floppy is seen in the dogs, which is a domestic version of the wolf but old candidate into wild. Whether there will. Will FOX is coaches to have straight ears. So since I mentioned that in my show and talk about these processes of domestication, which was our ancestor manipulating evolution without even knowing. What would have been was just knowing that babies? Look like parents they made the made the wolf become the dog the made the red jungle fowl become a chicken, they made the board become the pig. We eat so just by knowing that they generation after generation they modified the animal, and I talked about the film. So I wanted a dog like that that had these characteristics. And then I contacted Bill Burr Loni Loni is a fantastic men who trains animals theater because I've trained volunteer for the guide dog foundation and raised many many dogs service dogs, but I don't know how to make a dog ignore the the audience. And so when I tried one of my. Dog my dog as soon as somebody in yards all that little puppy. He just goes in Santa local everybody sitting in. So I had to ask for Bill, and I said Bill need a small dog patchy code floppy is and build brought these little rescue her name is Darcy or Fisher names Darcy, but in the fill in the theater, I in my show, she's called Peter Pan. Because I say that maybe the dog is to Peter panel wolf and one of the reasons that is turn youthfulness is that dog play until they're very adult..

"Problem. Amazon will sell the service to all law offices and other third parties bad exclamation point. Well, that's what the privacy people are worried about that. Everybody's going to hammer these things. Brian says ring doorbell, Donald good friend of mine has a ring doorbell. All I ever see. The thing do is. Picks up his dog when it chimes inside. Somebody comes up to it. Get irritated than yells at the dog should stop barking at the doorbell. Chime. It even goes off at the bushes way enough. Speaking of cameras, I didn't have a chance to get their today. But they got now they're coming out. I put it up our Facebook page Facebook dot com forward slash Tom Sullivan show. They're showing how they have manipulated. Jennifer, Lawrence speaking at the Golden Globe awards took her face off of her input St. boo semi space on her and they're talking about how all of this is leading to the point where there is going to be fake videos. President Trump President Obama. You name it all the presidential candidates. You will see videos of them saying things and doing things just aren't true just are not true. Called the deep. Deep fakes is a term for it. But they got this photo of Jennifer Lawrence. Who's a very Pretty Woman. Her face is now, Steve Bruce Sammy who is. So we say he's not a pretty guy. Weird where the cameras are going with all of this, Michelle. Thank you for waiting, welcome. Hi, you're on the Tom Sullivan show. Hi, tom. We've got a little different angle of using the ring, and it's not so much criminal activity as caretaking so my dad's in a wheelchair and is unable to get around. And yet he told by himself most of the day. I don't want to go into a character facility. He wants his house not really all that safe. Yeah. So we just got the ring about eight months ago. And so when Cal takers come up to the door, it gangs to my step mom, so while she's at work. You can actually say, you know, there's a voice so she can say Hello. Go ahead and go on in I'll alert better here. We have cameras in inside the house. So say, hey, the caretaker caretaker here. So we're using it for allowing people to come into the house making sure that people that are supposed to be there. We can monitor what's happening inside the house. You have one of those one of those things that unlocks the door remotely. Not yet. And fortunately, I mean, his doors open most of the day, which is why it's it's a little scary. But when you have people coming in and out all day long. Yeah. Full time caretaker. Well, they got those things where they unlock your biologic for the door. And it'll open the lock I mean it open the door. Yeah. Yeah. They're all you know, that same home security businessman has just taken off like a rocket who knew. But this is great. Allows allows your dad to still live in his home. And that's really important. I think a lot of stepmom to stay at work, but still be aware of what's happening in the house who the landscapers window there. The pool guy when he's there. But it's a solution for now. Yeah. For now. It works. If he if he gets gets in trouble somehow does he have a way to reach out to somebody. And let them know these needs help. Yes. He does. He has a medical. Lurch? The help. I can't. Yeah. Yeah. And he's had to use multiple times. But that's why we also installed cameras on the inside. And she checks it regularly to see if he's fallen or if he needs help, and we have a two way speaker so that she can speak to him throughout the day. Yeah. It's a big business and and. With the boomers getting some birthdays piled on you can bet this is going to be used for exactly what you're using for. There will be a lot of families that will be able to keep their their elderly relatives at home and not in some high price nursing facility. So good for them. Good for their safety. Yeah. Nice. Michelle. Thank you. I'm glad you. Called. Yeah. Instead of burglaries. Yeah. I mean, this I got the Email exact from Thomas talking about the fact that the this is all going to be bundled together. And our phones in fact in Detroit, the mayor of Detroit once businesses that stay open after a certain amount of time mandatory cameras at these businesses. What mandate security cameras is a businesses that open or that are open late in a live feed that goes straight to police. Let's talk to Pat in California before we run out of time. Hello, pat. You get the last word today. Thank you very much for taking my call on Bill quick. I know you're pressed for time. But one thing I think your your viewers or listeners should know is there is a fatal flaw with the wireless programs. We bought five cameras on the outside of our house. I won't name the product. But it was a wireless was supposed to work seamlessly and so forth. Put them in the house. We have dogs going off all the time. Yeah. Pick him up. My fourteen year old son says dad, I can defeat these. And I said, okay, go ahead. How fun I go to work that day. I get the notifications on my phone, but I look at the videos. There's nothing there. I get home the next day from work, and I got little notes little post it notes all over our house from my son saying he was here. He was here. He was here. What do you think your it out? Is that those wireless cameras take three to seven seconds to spin up complete a handshake with the router start recording. Right. But what he would do if she learned to the front door, the camera detect emotion would start and. Yeah. And then he'd run away. Well, he would wait. Well, he would wait could he knew them max record tied with two minutes. So he said you wait for two minutes run out the other way. So she did this on all the areas we have.

"I think we need you've been gone for a while. Now, let's get into this. We got a letter from a listener named Mark. And so all the start I'll read Mark's letter discuss what Mark brings out great, Mark rights, I'm baffled as to why you are not railing against the Golden Globe awards. Did you not hear lady Gaga winding about how hard it is to be female musician while finally her five billion dollar necklace? Did you miss the entire article that the writer may make two hundred and eighteen dollars for song? That makes the artists thirty four million by you. Silence. You are supporting a platform that denigrates writers while promoting the self-indulgent delusions of those who believe they're entitled by the measure of their gender race, orientation or religious beliefs. I really thought your podcast was about earning your way and working to get the skill set necessary to make it happen. Wow. You really had me fooled Craig? I mean feel. You fooled Marco I mean, so let's let's get into marketing. And it's really take a look at ourselves about what an idiot. It's so stupid that I can't even feel umbrage almost happy. It's almost made me happy because I've forgotten that there can be people this stupid and. Yeah, mom. Okay. Calling. Mark stupid. I mean, this is stupid. I don't Mark. You're probably not a stupid person. But this is a stupid thing you've done. It's a stupid thing you've written. And and the reason I guess primarily that I would say so is because you've made this insane logical leap that. Because you didn't hear us talking about the Golden Globe awards we therefore support it, by the way. I have no opinion. Go words. I didn't watch them. But why would anyone presume that? If you don't say something about a topic that I mean, it's only either one of us were at the Golden Globe awards. Neither one of us are a member of the foreign Hollywood Press Association. I also didn't mention something about you know, UCD Christians being slaughtered yesterday. That doesn't mean I support bat..

"Up. Woo. They drove off the road. Are it came in eighth place at six million dollars on the mule cleaning clean Eastwood movie was nine hundred eighth at five point six million dollars in rounding out the top ten was by it came coming in at three point two million dollars at the box office in its only up to thirty five million dollars at the box office totally for its third weekend. So it's it started out to be good. But he kind of this kind of dropped off in the last week or so vice I, you know, a movie that we actually brought back bohemian rhapsody on its eleven place at three point two million dollars. So we and we were selling it out over the weekend. Since one some Golden Globe awards. So that's the top movies of the this weekend. Hopefully this coming weekend Martin Luther King weekend. Hopefully will do a lot better at the box office. I don't know. Glass, which is supposed to be the big one that everybody waited on their starting to discover that the reason it's a January movie is because it's not getting good reviews at all is getting ripped apart. Yeah, I've hearing that. But I still think it's gonna do very well at the box office. It's lease its first weekend. You'll it's a trilogy. You know, unbreakable. I believe will come out in two thousand. Yes. And then split come out a couple of years ago two thousand sixteen and this is the third in the trilogy and both of those movies did a lot of business at the box office. I know split we were selling out the big houses when it came out. So that's all I'm thinking that it's going to happen. Least this weekend. For glass, people are going to want to see the end of that trilogy. And I I'm going to see it. I didn't see split though, didn't see split. But I know the premise I'm going to see it just because I want to finish out everything. And I thought unbreakable was nice superhero movie at change from all of that. So. I'm hoping you know, it's got two great actors. You know, Bruce Willis Samuel Jackson. Big draw in like third installment of the trilogy the ending. So I'm sure it's going to do very well at the box office. You know, it's rated PG thirteen. That's a great rating brings a lot of people in drama mystery sci-fi thriller. So I'm hoping this. We just should be the number one movie at the box office this weekend from Martin Luther King weekend glass. Stories. Abilities. What we are. Ah? Thirteen. I think the last scene is where Bruce Willis throw some guy threw a door. That's as you should typical. I guess. John Maclean's gotta do it. Somehow. Did you see unbreakable John or no? It was the perfect superman story without being superman. It was really really good. And I guess it split was really good as well. But. When you're doing something like that. You gotta I I'm just hoping is good. I can't even put it into words. I'm just hoping this really good well considering that it is a slow weekend. But you said that you have some we have our phantom events that start up this week. Yes. Sorry about that. Yes. And the first development that starts today that will show this Saturday at nine pm. We have the world welterweight keeping chip from MGM grand in Las Vegas. We're going to be showing Meaney pack, the owl versus avian. Bronner? I of course, many Paquito on his. Been around for like eighteen years or so coaster twenty years probably cost his Zoe fine politician in the filthiest. Yes. Yes. Either find connotation. His record at sixty wins. Seven losses to draw in this Augean Bronner thirty three three and one. He's from Cincinnati, Ohio. So that should bring some people in to watch this. This is a live event on Saturday at the atlas Great Lakes team sixteen only at nine PM. It's cost twenty dollars. You're telling me you're putting that on over the Cavs versus the nuggets. Yes. On many pack out. Yeah. That's..

"Patriot com. Happy hour TV there's video explained it all and join us show you. That was a great segue. Somebody had an eventful weekend. It. It was me. So this year with seventy six annual Golden Globe awards, and you guys know AJ my boyfriend he was his third year in a row hosting the official red carpet pre show, and so I've been grateful to be as plus one every year and this year, you know, we've talked about this privately, but like we were in a different stride. Like the first year was kind of like, oh my God. I can't believe we're here like still every last year as kind of like, I'm more relaxed. But like, oh my God. I still can't believe here and this year like, oh, we belong. I felt like. Just the different different movement to it. This is interesting though, because we will first of all I do office -ocial media when I'm there, and I was doing the social media, but at the same time, I was also blogging this time for you two channels. You know, if you follow me on YouTube because see like what the experience was and everything and that was fun yet. Exhausting trying to do both at once. And I think first of all let's talk about some of the winners from the Golden Globes that made me really happy in Sofia should be really happy 'cause he works for Sony and Spiderman into the spider, if you know about animated films stiffly when it comes to award shows, usually Disney or Pixar sweeps to category and Spiderman this year after I saw that Texas opium and camelia after watch the film, and it really at some point move me to tears because it has so much heart. It was so well done, and it didn't feel like you're watching a kids film. It felt like a film that parents could enjoy kids all generations. And also. So on top of that the leakier was after Latino so it was just amazing on all different levels so much diversity in the film. And it was just it was really really really amazing. So I was so happy that I saw that before the show and even more happy that it one. Also if Bill streak could talk Regina king one. And what can we talk about Regina king house? She's quietly been killing the game. Listen acting like she people seem to be forgetting or I don't know what it is. But Regina king has consistently killing is eighty six to seven early literally though. No that that movie, I'm gonna be honest. So I watched the bills we talking I remember. 'cause obviously a head of time when age is perfect for the show. We see who's nominating. She accepted, the Golden Globe awards and talk about using your voice talking about gender equity and how she's going to try to use fifty percent women in all of the production and projects that she's involved in over the next couple of years, and and really encouraging others to do the same. So the book is really to help. People. You know, who have a message like that who are passionate about an issue. How do you frame it? How do you get that word out about something you're passionate, whether it's gender equality, or you know, you quality for kids. So I've been having a great time, traveling the country meeting, lots of amazing women and people talking about the book, and and helping people find their voices. So let's bring in correspondent Boris Sanchez from the White House. We're hearing two different sides about what happened during these negotiations on one hand, you have President Trump tweeting out that this meeting was productive on the other hand, we're hearing multiple accounts from people behind those closed doors that things did not go all that. Well, one source telling CNN that Republicans presented to Democrats the official justification for spending five point seven billion dollars on the president's long promised border wall. According to one democratic source. They felt that that presentation was incomplete Democrats on their end. According to sources have continuously suggested that I the federal government should be reopened before any negotiations over an actual border wall. Could be had the president meantime has continued suggesting a drastic option. He has said that he is seriously consider during a national emergency to get the funds necessary. To build his border wall. I asked the president about that on Sunday as he returned from a retreat at Camp, David listen to his justification. Because.

"Seventy-six annual Golden Globe awards handed out every year by the Hollywood Foreign Press association the event which took place last night was hosted by killing eve star and Golden Globes nominee, Sandra. Oh and Brooklyn nine nine star Andy somebody when one calls film buff, Ben Ryland was watching closely and he joins me. Now, a been it was exciting stuff at seeing some of those red copy pictures terribly glamorous as ever, of course, of course, and you wouldn't expect anything less from the Golden Globes always trying their best to be both glamorous. But not too stiff like, the Oscars are suppose. Some people might say the Oscars is a bit too. Stiff I'd say it's just a little bit more traditional. But of course, the Golden Globes always a little bit more fun. It was a big night for the Heyman rhapsody or the Queen bio pic won best drama and it star Rami. Melik won best actor as well. So a really great result for that film. A lot of people thought that film might have a little bit of trouble. Actually it had a lot of production issues. Its original director was fide during the production of the film that went through a heated front stars. So a lot of people assuming this film was just really dead on arrival. But of course, the opposite has proven to be true green book, I think was a bit of a surprise it took three awards, including best movie musical comedy. It was up against crazy, rich, Asians and the favorite, which of course, does of the Coleman soon to be seed in in the crown both of those films have generated a lot more buzz than green book. It's it's a bit of a peculiar wanted to. It's a Critic's favourite the not so much an audience favourite, and I suppose on one hand, that's what woods shows are four aren't they? They ought two point two films that perhaps they're a little bit more under celebrated so Babs these is simply a case of the the Golden Globes doing doing what what they're supposed to do. It was also. A big night for Richard Madden. He won best actor in a TV drama full of the BBC's the bodyguard, which of course, has generated a lot of audience fever here in the UK. But I do wanna point out. One thing though, a great result for Rachel Brosnahan. She won best actress in the TV comedy or drama full. Amazon's the MRs Mazel, it is absolutely one of the very best programs of the moment. A very well. Deserved win for her. Excellent performance in that show. If you haven't seen the mobile as MRs nicely really do need to get on rotten now. Rachel plays sort of a character. You might say was inspired by the early days of journ rivers, a comedian in the nineteen fifties who who wants to make it as a comedian. But he's told by everyone around her now, you can't you're a woman, this is not a job view. And she, of course, goes about proving them wrong. It's it's a brilliant series. And just have a look at who. She was up against Allison Brie full glow. Kristen bell, full good place. Candice Bergen familiar Brown and Deborah. Missing full will and grace now any one of those women could have absolutely scooped that award. So well done Rachel Matthew Brown still dying on Mary Brown is one of those resuscitate old old sitcoms..

"Seventy six Golden Globe awards happening on this coming up Sunday night on NBC January two six. Yeah. That's right. We're we're getting into full gear here. We will fill you in my friends on what you might miss. We will cover it leading up to and following the show. It's what we call mytalk all day award show coverage. So this Friday will be chatting, golden girls. And then Monday will be. And that's it. Until the next award show comes along which will probably be the following Sunday. Right. Okay. He's off his rocker today. You guys poor Tiffany haddish. It girl you talking about. She had a night. He probably wants to forget she was performing to a sold out crowd at on the James L Knight center, which is in Miami, James L Knight. She bombed so hard really on New Year's Eve that fans were getting up and walking out of her shell seems like it'd be an easy time to crush it in stand up because so many people are probably drinking unless you yourself are hung over from the night before or. So she okay, she did confirm that she failed. She put out a tweet and said, yes, this happened. And she's speaking of an article written about her. She said I wish I was better. Apparently, I forgot apparently she forgot several of her jokes. She was reading some off of an ipad. It was bad. Apparently, the ones that she did remember fell flat. People started booing. Oh, man. She actually got to the point where she invited audience members to come onstage and tell jokes as the hecklers and the boos got louder. What is happening? Nothing. She said f it. She said I wanted to talk about some stuff. I can't remember none of it. Oh, jeez. So yeah, there's video of on stage. Yeah. I feel really bad. Like, why wasn't? She prepared. Oh, she'll be fine. I don't feel bad. Well bounce back. There's been a beef between her in on what's that guy's aimed cat Williams. And he has a low opinion of her stand up abilities. He has said in the past. She's not proven the ability to tell jokes back back for an hour to anybody. Oh, thought not not good news for for her. But I I liked that she owned it. That's right. And she'll bounce back everybody. I mean, she is she really is the it girl. Twenty two a huge year for life. She she'll do fine. She's coming back. Okay. We gotta talk about bird box. Okay. Tell us about it bird box. Is that movie that you have been seeing advertised on net flicks? Meaning it has been at the top when you log into net flicks. It is right up top star. Sandra? Bullock, and some people have said, wait. This is kind of a rip off of a quiet place by John Krasinski, Emily blunt. But then when you do the deeper dive, you realize that bird box is based on a book of the same name that came out that predated. A quiet place by several years. Third box off perhaps never inspired. Yes. Either way. They're both really great this. I felt was much more intense and captivating than a quiet place. Let me tell you why this premise for those of you who don't know is that essentially something invades or attacks people on earth, where if they see it they instantly want to take their own lives, and they are no kidding. I mean, they are heavy jumping out of windows. They are doing crazy stuff slamming their head on things. Whatever they gotta do. They see something they then like quickly say something and then try to take their own life. Oh my gosh. So it's this epidemic. It starts sort of crossing the globe. And that's where this story picks up. And so if you see on the trailer, you know, everybody's wearing these blindfolds because you cannot be outside and see anything. Now, why it's unfair to compare a quiet place in bird box to-to-to. It's that they did such an excellent job in a quiet place. John Krasinski Emily blunt for making you care about something without any dialogue here in bird box. You do get dialogue, and they have plenty of time with the blindfolds off whenever they are in houses where windows are covered. But this movie is so intense that Stevie boy falls asleep during movies, okay? At eleven fifty. We started the movie eleven fifty PM. I said to my wife. Let's just watched the first ten minutes for hooked. And then if we are watch tomorrow, right? Went to bed at two AM. 'cause I I didn't even I didn't get tired. I mean, I was so locked and loaded. There were interesting twists and turns along the way there is a compelling storyline. With Sandra, Bullock and two kids that just rips your heart out it just tugs at it constantly. It is really really good. And they keep jumping back to present day and five years prior. When this outbreak started get this forty five million people. Wow. Saw this movie in the first ten days witch now this is unfair. But let's just play with the numbers. Let's say it's a ten dollar movie ticket on average that would have made them four hundred fifty million dollars at the box. Now, that's unfair. Because we're already we've already paid our net. Flex fear in my case. My brother Josh has been for the past six years. But still the fact that that many people watch it is just unbelievable. They have one hundred and thirty seven million subscribers. In forty five million incredible watch this movie. And by the way, here's how net says they're judging if you watched it they count viewers if you watched at least seventy percent of the movie, okay, how long is the movie it's just under two hours. Perfect. And were you disturbed by it at all? Yeah. Listen, I'm not gonna lie. I know you guys see me and say that guy has never been afraid of anything in his whole life. Right. No, no says, okay. I as I was shutting the lights off at night shutting everything down, you know, after you watch a scary movie your life kind of walk up the steps a little bit quicker turn around. I see something. It's it's very intense. It's very layered. There's a part of it. That is formulaic. This starts off with the group anytime, you're in a group movie scary movie. It's like who's going to serve. So there are elements that are that are formulaic. But how things happen a little twists and turns along the way really interesting the drama is high. Okay. All right. I'm going to give it. I think I'll give it this. Four hundred five carries. It's gotta be incredible. For me to give a really good. Let's go to the phones we have a call coming in on line. One talk. You're on the Donna and Steve show. Did you see bird box? Ryan so much for your vacation time that man.
