Are you having pot? Yeah Oh yeah we do too. We love the thing. Yeah so have you ever been to New Orleans and fat Tuesday. And we have not done that. No you never have you. Yeah it's wall to wall people. Wow it is horrible. I mean I have pictures of Mardi gras where it's like I just. I just raised the camera to take a picture down the street. And it's a sea of just heads. It is a real. Yeah I did it once. I don't think I would ever do it again. And I remember when that was kind of intriguing to me or interesting to me and now I'm just so not. It's so it's so like cumbersome. Here's what's so amazing of it though right so. Mardi gras well at midnight mean on the the second they clear the street really so I mean it is not one second after midnight. That people are out there so what they do is. The horse's like the Mount Police play a huge role They're just keeping the peace and let's face it. It's a complete and utter mess as far as like trash and litter boobs all over. You know like all this stuff you here. I mean that's really true The one thing I would say about it though is very peaceful and quite calm. Actually but come midnight. They kick everybody off the street. Everybody has to disperse so I go back to the hotel like it was right around then and you know because I didn't want didn't WanNa hang around. I was there for a work convention. Okay that was the main that was the impetus of my being there but we happen to get there like the day prior and so we got to spend time there so the next morning. I'm like you know what I have to see what it looks like in the morning. So I'm out up in out on the street with my camera at six. Am Yeah. I'll tell you man it's like it never happened. Wow completely empty so clean. All the trashes picked up it was like they spent the next six hours. I'll took was like six hours. They spent the next six hours cleaning this place. Like to perfection and the rest of the day. It was like a ghost town nursing their hangovers. I mean just you go to a restaurant like there's a couple of people in the place you go walking down the street the next night. You're like I'm going to go for a beer. There's like three people in the bar. It's like it never happened. It was so amazing. The only people that go out on that day at the The the people that cleaned up for the six hours or the people at the school psychologists convention or the school psychologist invention. That's yeah so how is your. Your beer is good. It's your favorite not your first time for that one but no yeah. I gotta today. Oh this is the first one. Yeah okay yeah no it well and the reason I asked the questions what would you expect is because in the fine print it says Golden Coffee Ale and I'm like well what would you expect right. That's why I was saying like when you said Stout and creamy and that's exactly what I would expect and I knew I don't know why I knew but I just knew it was going to be like a Pale Ale coffee infused Pale Ale. Almost which is exactly what this is awesome. Oh yeah there's no hops whatsoever. It's all coffee. I'M GONNA I'M GONNA be up all night so and cooked this Jambalaya and the instant pot and.

"The thing I was Gonna I wanted to talk about was the Joe Meyrowitz photograph which won the The one the camel emel coats You know with a couple from their photograph from behind as they're walking across the street away from us and they both have these camel coats and they're these shadows shadows Their shadows that come up. There's some other shadows that are also coming in from other people and there's this team and the period roughly it's the seventies probably like smack in the middle of the seventies and also special. Greta got me. and Oh as uh-huh give as a gift and it's funny because it's in our apartment and people often sometimes people will ask if that's us. I mean look closely. It's kind of funny to think it's us but is a blonde woman in a sense. Essentially a dark haired man in these coats and the cuts matching. Well they. They're they're they're the same color I mean. It's it's one of those things where you can't believe he got all those things at once that this is a But it it's like a constantly alive image and it also I'd mentioned it before she got it for me because it was a an image. I think I somehow saw as a kid. You know either museum museum or parents probably a book of his and it felt to me like adulthood. I mean sort of goes to what you're saying about park slope in Manhattan collect. It felt to me like the those that that's grown up world in Manhattan and then as I got older I really love. I love a lot of street photography and I particularly love stuff shot in New York ground. The love winner grand and so later later and I and I love any movie when that shot in New York. Even if the movie's not very good if it's like Old New York and you get to see it i. I'm always just very taken with that. I always The something always exciting and kind of comforting to me about it is a j D Salinger story where he talks exa camel hair. Can't remember the two nine stories which you probably know intimately and one of the guys touches this girl's camel hair and says you. You can't really get good camel hair anymore since the war right back right and I always think about that. Because it's very empowering moment sort of a nerdy girl all right right tennis dress with a camel hair coat which one is a One of the lesser one. Still one of them. Yeah it'll come back to me in a minute but it's not uncle weekly and it's not for as May it's one of the ones in the middle there somewhere but it's I always liked it. I they always remind me of your movies and a wonderful way even before you called Meyrowitz and other stories a j d salinger always seems like a world that feels very noah Baumbach to me. Yeah I mean I integrate way. Yeah I mean Very Holden Caulfield in that movie. It's funny I don't know if this is still true. But reading Catcher catcher in the Rye you know when I first read it I guess he was older. Golden Coffee was older than me. So it was that feeling of reading about MHM more grown up person. Which of course is a funny way to look at that book? You know because it's so much It wasn't until later that I really realized it's you. You know that that they were capturing this kid because in a sense it felt like a more grownup way to be for me exactly now so it seemed very New York Yeah Been Lan. Reading those books was like what a Pepsi Prep. I mean I know when I had no idea what a prep school I didn't. Either I know relationship to that world ruled that all know anyone who went to prep school. I mean I'd I'd heard of it. I've got behind It was like you needed help. Like reforms forms that no. I didn't that part of it. Didn't the Manhattan of it was interesting to me in a romantic to me and and the you know the the characters were but not the the world was always somewhat confusing to me or confounding to the Fran Zoe the sort of leisure in it. So it's kind of a little bit confused by but I went fascinated by to the upper east side of it. Yeah but I always loved stories of that. I mean I love the didn't actually reference marriage story but the in Stuart Little the whole Ambriz side of stuart little and living.

K. A. little people Hey que tiny people just what they are now what do they get away with this is important so the green vault is where this is interesting it is according to them and to many it is the oldest museum maybe in the world but definitely in Europe that's where they describe it they have not only art there but what they have there Jules early Monday morning to thieves broke into Dresden's green fox one of the oldest museums in the world they entered through windows smashed a display case and made off with three sets of diamond jewelry and although police have not yet put a figure on it German media speculate they may be worth hundreds of millions of dollars that these are currently on the run but I've been captured on video footage and if the strikingly teeny tiny so they're they're estimating or trade five hundred million and potentially a billion dollars the only saving grace at this moment in time was the COBOL pieces of big jewelry were were on loan including a forty one carat green diamond which is that the New York City metropolitan museum of art that check this out one of them they think they took was a six hundred forty eight carat sapphire which was a royal give from Russian czar Peter the great a golden coffee service made seventy to one and a twenty five inch figure of more encrusted with precious emeralds in other jewels and wire juls important read the whole I've seen thing when they went to his house nice all the stuff he had hit diamonds because diamonds in jewels are pretty much untraceable so they're worried that they're going to damage them by taking them apart and then going out and selling them any I can be able to get those back that is insane it's totally ocean's eleven it is so we're thinking out what the best highs this could be up there for all the talk of stealing people's data this was just old fashioned stuff right this was like an old for next to a train robbery this is pretty a pretty awesome could you imagine robin a train now would you get like eighty debit cards nothing still on the train will begin again like robin a greyhound right would you get sixty three Bucks and a and a and a loose cough drops three two three five three twenty four twenty three acts have been to chose your Twitter hepatitis B. "Tuesday or wherever you're the right bill stats. What's Your Brew House here? And so we are on a fifteen barrel OL- Crawford Crawford out of the quad cities over in Davenport whichever city they're actually in it's over in that direction But it was great work with those guys because they're relatively close to US fifteen barrel system that we've got going in here. We can actually max out out in about eighteen meryl's or so so when we are packaging which we just recently started do. It's Nice because I can make ten barrels else to go up and do our tin barrels serving tanks up behind the bar front and then have another six or seven barrels leftover back here that we can run off into cans. I see the hands up at the top there on the control panel. Yes we've got a we did. Our fifth can just came out about a month and a half ago. It actually fell off of the top of that control panel Hawes Brewing earlier today. There's it's wedged down the pipes correct pitcher and put it on the website but so we better to hazies in cans are are Julius. Squeezer the hazy and then brutus the big brothers ate Julia Squeezer yes so key One of our co owners claims to be terrible at naming beers decided that are hazy. VHA Julius Squeezer like you're great at naming beers this is fantastic in naming vein. We with our double. We call it brutus. If you're if you set the two cans next to one another brutus is actually stabbing Julius in the back with his hot laden. Ayton dagger there through Brutus. Which is our best selling beer in house? It's Nice German. Light lager are Pale and then of course our fool's gold which is kind of what we've been making a name for ourselves with and has been our best selling pulling beer to go since we opened up style the Golden Coffee Stout white style. Yes we actually go well. Well Fool's gold is so king of fools as an imperial golden old. Just what happens when it over a tiny ways Eh. It's an imperial sugar coated emperors. Well it just didn't sound as good. It didn't have what that's where the king came from a ruler order and I actually have a a German beer. That is a double version that we had thought about calling imperial but we can't call German beer imperial. It's d'appel in German. So that's the double apple strudel vice that I made with a ninety three octane just opened up. I'm not even we're going to get it so I I did a little research back to try to watch. We wanted to try to pronounce that beer while they're sitting in the pub and by the way ninety three octane is out in Saint Charles one of the New Jersey. That's open up. There came in under the wire so they came and did a collaboration with you. Ready and Obviously made it. Do they have that on Yeah they they opened up last Wednesday. I just can't get my head around. An imperial. Berliner is supposedly low alcohol. And what is this well and I'll say my nine percent wait a minute. My regular liberal leaner than I keep on tap far from the tree. It's four and a half which is strong for Berliners Berlin over four percent and that is kind of outside of the parameters of the style chef again. Actually I have been talking with him about the traditional methods of serving. Berliner Berliner Vice in Germany would serve it with the Woodruff Syrup and a Raspberry Syrup than you would get. It served three different ways so talking to chef about this he found now his neighbor actually was growing adrift in the backyard. That my on Komo actually grows really well along this latitude. Time the plane talking about please talking about plants bloody woodruff this so you were talking about trump. It's trump any grows wild right along this latitude line and so in Germany. They've traditionally used it to flavor a a- all different kinds of Bill Woodrow Syrup on their ice cream but they Traditionally will serve Berliner vice with a raspberry and a woodrow. So you get the based the raspberry the woodruff and then a like a seltzer. Water Pallet cleanser and so we do the traditional berliner flight. Here we started doing that Berliner flight and Nick the head brewer from ninety three octane came in he tried it as we were talking about doing beers and he thought it was a really cool characteristic. He actually picked up a little bit of an Apple Pie characteristic from it so I took that Woodruff Syrup made a big fourteen gallons of Woodrow Syrup And then boiled it with fresh cinnamon sticks and added that to the awful truth ice and affirmative that out and so. That's that's how we got that kind of Apple Pie. Characteristic was from the Woodrow Syrup and the steeping of the cinnamon sticks in there and comes out with a very strong apple pie characteristic. And it's it's been doing really well for the past two weeks that we've had it out. They've got three of their own beers and three co labs on tap over there. They did something with twenty five west and with a solemn breath also okay so let's talk about another beer that we have in front of us here and that is cooled on common denominator which which is yet another code lab right that you did with with Wolf Din Bray. Hey so and I want to a little aside real quick. This is one of the reasons that I am actually Salihi up here brewing in Chicago Land area as I love the very communal spirit that we have amongst all of our viewers here when I was down in in Dallas. Not that we weren't friends with one another but the beer industry was a little bit different. There was a lot of butting of heads and fighting for tap space up here I see very much of a collaborative spirit. Spirit amongst all of the brewers and instantly became good friends with a lot of breweries around here. Honestly Church Street was one of the first brewers that I went through when I was here I moved to Elmhurst popped on my bike and wrote up tight Tasca and check. Do you guys out and going out to all these local breweries and meeting all these people from around on the area it really. It's one of the reasons that I came up here. It's one of the reasons that I love this Chicago. Land Midwest brewing scene. And so doing these labs. It's it means a lot to me. It's very mean and bouncing ideas off of people have been doing this for fifteen years and I'm still learning every time I do something with somebody else. I get a new idea a new technique being out last weekend trying different beers. I get these new ideas so this isn't that we did with the Wolf Den. They've done a lot of loggers. I've gotTA lager brewing background.
