Political Scientist Zach Goldberg's Analysis Pins Media for Pushing Racist Agenda

"The media have been pushing this agenda. The media have been leading the way. In their newsrooms and on their opinion pages and in their editorials. It's true. The media's use of white supremacy and related terms to describe anything or anyone who does not conform. To the critical race theory. Racist ideology is pervasive. Goldberg says, whatever it used to mean White supremacy is now everywhere in applicable to any context. Consider that until 2015. Terms related to white supremacy almost never registered at more than 0.1% of all words in a given year in any of these newspapers. With the exception of the Wall Street Journal. Who's upswing was less concerned. This ceiling has been comfortably breached in every year since. By 2019 the Times and posts respectively, using these terms, approximately 17 and 18 times more frequently. Then they were in 2014.

"Now here's what's interesting. It's not that the guys conservatively still the leftist, but he's not like Lenin. Maya Wiley is in the camp with the cameo and that sort of thing. And a lock. Who backed her. But she came in a distant second now. Like most third worlds. Like most undeveloped countries. New York won't know the actual results for about three weeks when they're done counting the ballots you see. Have a very important election system there. It's got While there used to be a comic at the name of Rube Goldberg, and he would write and he would make these very complicated pictures and how things work and it was really quite Intriguing what he would draw cartoonist. I should say. Well, that's the election system they have in the state of New York. And so many of these Paradise is that people are trying to escape as fast as they possibly can. Called Blue State Democrats states. Eric Adams will likely win the Democrat primary. See even Even the Democrats. It looks like Some of them anyway. Having second thoughts. Wait a minute. Our school suck. Our streets are dangerous. The value of our property is through the toilet. Sure. Let me keep voting for leftist Democrats. Yeah, Yeah, so good. So the little light bulb went off now for them. It's about a five water, but nonetheless, it went off. Wait a minute. This could be problematic. So we'll see how it turns out. The Goal of the American Marxist Is to Destroy the Current Society

"Depression in this country. The Democrats know it. Keep something in mind. The influence of the American Marxist on the Democrat Party is significant. And what is their goal, ultimately, to destroy the existing society, replace it with some kind of Rube Goldberg Marxist socialist system. They're never very clear about what it is, but it doesn't really matter. Any important storm critical race theory, critical immigration theory Critical trends theory. I call them those things and that's fine. And so for them. It's a win win. But they have to also control the political system. That's precisely why They want to control the Supreme Court. I don't know why they pretty much control it anyway. You can see. Tony Barrett Kavanagh. They've already buckled. John Roberts wants to be the next, uh Chief Justice Warren, So that's three. Um Pretty much there's there's three Constitutional is left on the Supreme Court to in particular one most of the time. And that's where we are. But that's also why they want to change our election laws. They're breaking their backs. They're afraid the house will be taken by the Republicans. Given the economic situation that's right on the horizon. To try and institute with no majority in the Senate. They don't the majority in the Senate. It's the Constitution that gives the vice president of vote. They have no significant majority in their house. They're hanging on by a thread. And by the way, the finished thread in 100 years.

Jonah Goldberg Is Wrong, Gov. DeSantis Is Right: Vaccine Passports Should Be Banned

"A private company or anyone else to be able to pry into your medical record. That's what the vaccine record is. And the demand you show it before you walk in their business. He should be banned nationwide. Of course, Jonah Goldberg was I don't know. Not interested in conserving the right to privacy. Where did he stand? By the way unmask mandates and that other stuff can someone said that to me? I wonder if he was for that. That be fascinating. I wonder what he was conserving with that, but we'll see. Maybe he wasn't Who knows? But here's the Tweety sent out. Trying to nail Rhonda Santa's to the wall. Runs like Forget it. We're not doing vaccine past. But she says, Well, it's stupid to call it a vaccine passport. I'll give you that. But a private business, particularly a cruise line should be perfectly free to require passengers to be vaccinated. Even if the cruise line is wrong. Who the Blank is the governor of Florida to say otherwise. Well, I can tell you is he's actually a conservative who's interested in conserving stuff again. Ah, big shocker to Joan here. What are you trying to conserve? So you're about conserving the right to privacy. Big our God given rights, except when the right to privacy is being infringed on by big corporations working in tandem with the government to advance principles of government wants, but likely can't do themselves But you're still a conservative right that I missed that. How what exactly? Are you conserving their Conserving the right of business is to do what to do. What To infringe on people's civil liberties in conjunction with the government that would like nothing more than to discriminate. Americans who get or don't get the vaccine, despite the fact that we're all reasonably intelligent people who can make a risk analysis on our own on getting the vaccine

"goldbergs" Discussed on TV Rewind Podcast

"List if you have not seen the show. What are you doing with your life. Go find the old episodes on hulu or p cocker wherever and catch up on it. You can thank me later. It's just fantastic. I love it and the other show mentioned is the goldbergs episode. Twenty two of season eight their proposal which was their season finale. The basic storyline for this episode. Everything has been leading up to this over the last couple of episodes because in the previous couple of episodes jeff and erica a break. Jeff was very forlorn. Didn't know what to do with himself. But in the process of that has really come to try other things and realize that he can have happiness. And and you know other interests aside from erica but in the end realized that he wants to be with her. Despite you know trying all these other things what he realized the most is that he loves her and he wants to be with her so they reunited in the previous episode at the very end. And i was here for it. I love them together so much and then he starts this episode telling his best friends. Ajay p. that he is planning to ask erica to marry him. Of course berry is all excited about this. Because he can have jeff his brother and he has been very supportive of their relationship for a long time and so he gives the jp the ring for safekeeping. He was originally going to give it to one of the guys in the group. That is a little more dependable but buried takes it upon himself to take the ring and to hide the ring in a very obvious place in his room and so hijinks ensue as kind of misunderstandings happen over the course of the episode potentially derailing the whole thing and then find the atom has to come forward and you know. Say there's ms that are happening. It's not it's not berry and joanne that earned getting engaged. It's it's jeff and erica. And then everybody gets back on. Board becomes this wildly romantic moment at the end of the episode for their proposal. So a couple of things to mention here. We had a callback. Jeff uses the goldbergs beach house from the dating game to propose to erica and it was a beautiful beach house. It was gorgeous and it's also called back to the show because that is the goldberg beach house that they previously and they have not used. There is a full name ultimatum with was period period. When jeff is called jeffrey middle. Name schwartz by berry. Because he doesn't know his actual real middle name. There is an idiot plot. That's mentioned by brea when she says it. All romantic comedies are about people making ridiculous mistakes. That can be resolved quickly. Adam then shows her how such misunderstandings can happen in real life at least in his family which is kind of the plot for this whole episode. Because there's a lot of misunderstandings especially because mom comes to talk to dad and says our child is getting engaged and dad assumes that. She's talked that he's talking about barry and then it just starts this whole thing. Adam spends the whole episode pointing out romcom tropes debris as they happen to the point the brig. It's upset the atoms. Just letting the tropes continuing instead of taking action and forces him nuclear everything up when it seemingly hit the lowest point so brea was the superhero for this episode. Because adam couldn't see the nose in front of his face he just wanted this whole thing to continue and just continue to go badly basically. There's a misunderstanding between murray and lew schwartz. That goes back to this barbecue that they had in which alluded not put the cheese on the hamburger to melts. Ain't is put it on there and it didn't melt and so basically because of this. It's all this terrible thing and then murray has to tell the schwartz's that berry joanna getting engage but they're not and basically forbids all of it to happen. This words is also forbid happened because there's is missing the two families and then lou has apologized later which everything is awkward as everybody shows up at the beach house at the end including both appearance with the half the cast ignoring that. Jeff's proposal is erica on the other half assuming its berries proposing to joanne. This occurs a few times one dialogue to conversations of them having misunderstands about who. They're talking about that happen. The law as part of the wrong come nature of the episode. Half of the cast ends of talking thinking that barry is going to propose to joanne. Which dwayne wouldn't accept though she does enjoy being asked their attempts to convey this to the other half of the cast. Make them think. Erica doesn't want a proposal. From jeff it takes air adam being forced out of his observant observational meta guy role to actually explain things to everyone to make it clear. Yup the crux of this episode. It went on for far too long. If you ask me. Eric comes to the beach house with jeff thinking he was going to do something surprising and she's waiting for perhaps proposal but instead figuring that erica was going to refuse due to miscommunication he invited by. Jt p. including johnny atkins and carl to come for a party. And then erica. Storms out all upset onto the beach goes for a walk. The goldbergs in sports is not pleased when they arrive. And find johnny carla making out but it all works out in the end. All miscommunication is assured everybody figures out. What's going on. They all arrive on the scene and jeff gets to do as proposal to erica. And it's beautiful and perfect and the background is not a is not. You know a studio lot. They're actually on the beach in real life. He does is perfect. Perfect proposal and the whole family and friends are there to be excited with them and have a celebration and it was fantastic. I loved it. So that's my thoughts on the goldbergs. I still love it. I'm very happy. That jefferson erica. Worked everything out and they're engaged. They're happy and i'm here for them being together forever because they are together forever on were they were on school before it got cancelled so i know it happens. I i still think that as as law even on that show was canceled. That is what i thought about. Those shows definitely would highly recommend them. They're still a lot of fun and enjoyable. Even though it's been going on for eight seasons. I still love it so now. Move on to the fast forward and talk about things that are coming up for this week. Tuesday may twenty fifth game of talents. Strong, Black, and Hot Enough To Give You Second Degree Burns

"Lack women oprah beyond saying and all your favorite reaction means. I've heard people say they like their women like they like their coffee. Strong black hot enough to give you second degree burns. Careful what you wish for darius but the thing is not all black women are strong and even the ones that are strong aren't just that we doors open for us to especially with someone with biceps like michael jordan. Ads like michael jordan. Hare like michael b jordan but unfortunately a strong black woman stereotype is rained in american culture. It has a long history. About as old as morgan freeman and batty white combined now you may be wondering what is a strong black woman is the idea that black women are emotionally resilient naturally selfless to browns ask for help and can succeed with no resources so basically every care to play by viola davis. The irony is the strong black woman. Stereotype was started by black women to combat all the negative ones the in the aftermath of slavery there were really only to stereotypes of black women. You were either from sex temperatures jacksonville or a man who was just there to smother people in booze in response black suffragette mary. Church terrell point strong black woman motto listing as we climb and i get what she was going for butt lift as we climb even bodybuilders. Don't do both at the same time. You expect a black woman to do more than swertz nigger in his prime but overtime society shrank of black woman down to just her strikes and the popular conception now is that black women can bear and overcome any birth. We see all over our culture in movies like the color purple who my life. And how can we forget ghost. We're whoopi goldberg literally has to let a white man. U's her body to rub foreheads with his fiancee. Even when black women only have one line strong as hell move you will be moved. Damn at least let her say hello. Let's all say what's wrong with being perceived as strong. Isn't it a good thing. No not if black women destroy their mental and physical health trying to live up to it and not people think black women are so strong they make them do all the work on their own. Look stacey abrams. She helped democrats win georgia and before you knew it. Using active vaccine distribution the new york. Subway and kim and guy is marriage. The stereotype even reaches the doctor's office. Black women are less likely to be properly diagnosed. They have a much higher maternal mortality rate. And they're less likely to be believed about their symptoms and pay so a black woman basically has to be a doctor to know everything that's going on with her body and then convinced another doctor that that's what's happening. I was in. a car. Accident lacerations and internal bleeding a morphine drip and prep surgery stack. We'll get you a couple of bandaids. you'll be fine. What's so the next time you see a black woman struggling at work or trying to lift the box help her. Don't just stand there like you're about to see wonder woman in action in fact if you're in the new york area moving this week and i could use some help moving my couch because i'll be damned if i'm going to back lifting my own couch.

Getting Women Excited About Tech with Facebook's Caty Caldwell And Jessica Odeyemi

"This is the first of a series of technically two hundred talks or roundtable conversations. Where it's not just a one on one. But one onto plus. And i am very excited about this one because we have miss jessica odor yemi once again from ibm technical product manager. And we've got Ms katy call technical program manager at facebook. Such a pleasure to have you both here to night so i just wanna start with one question for each of you in. Why don't we start with katie. Katie what's your first memory of being excited about tech my first memory of being excited about tack. It has to be. I think in my freshman year computer science course. It's like an introduction a computer science. I just remember. I had started at princeton as a chemical engineer and i was just like i was in my first chemistry class. I was like this is like watching paint dry like this is not like the chemistry. I know from high school and i was just really excited about this idea. Setting chemical engineering. But when i took my first computer science course everyone had worn me before the course that was going to be so challenging difficult and i just remember just like enjoying every assignment and every assignment just felt like it felt like a puzzle. Felt fun and i. I felt like i was spinning. Just an inordinate amount of time. Just focus on by computer science work over my chemistry homework and i hadn't even got into sort of like the chemical engineering courses yet and i was like this'll make sense. Why by studying. Something that i am like. Great like begrudgingly. Getting through versus has studying something that i love so i just remember just being super excited about the next assignment and computer science like always wanted the next one wanted to do like the extra credit. I love that and jess unless you that same question. Yeah so let's see. I got into the tech industry per se a little bit later in life. But i remember the first time i was excited about anything. Simulated was an elementary school. When i found out I don't know if you've ever heard of them ike rube goldberg projects Like i don't know if you've ever seen a movie pee wee's big adventure. But at the very beginning he has all these contractions that connect to each other to do different things. But i kind of find out found out an elementary school. There was. We were introduced to the the concept of a rube goldberg project. In thought it was so cool. So i did something similar for science fair project and i thought it was the coolest thing ever As far as you know the tech industry goes. I think that happened much later in life for me. So that probably didn't happen for me until i was working and i think we've chatted about this a little bit before but i was working in the oil industry and it just occurred to me that i was out on the rate drilling wells and that was great but there was this whole other world behind what we were doing. Nearly 3 million U.S. women have dropped out the labor force

"Not long after Donald Trump arrived at the White House, he disbanded and office that focused on challenges affecting women. President Biden is now resurrecting it. Women's rights groups hope this will help them make progress on things like paid family leave and affordable child care. Here's NPR's Melissa Block. The wish list on Biden's agenda for women is long restoring an expanding reproductive rights, combating gender based violence, reducing maternal mortality, and he's pitched a slew of economic proposals. Major structural disruption requires major structural change. And I feel like thinking big right now is exactly what we need to do. So now is the time That's the co chair of the Biden administration's new gender Policy Council. Jennifer Klein. You know we're seeing because of the health pandemic because of the economic crisis, and, in fact, take care giving crisis that's been layered on top of it. These are core issues core issues, Klein points out that air hitting women hard and especially women of color. Just look at the most recent jobs numbers. In December, women accounted for all 140,000 of the country's net lost jobs. One factor behind that, with so many schools and day care centers closed because of the coronavirus. Many women have had to drop out of the labor force. That's been disastrous, says Joan Williams, director of the Center for Work Life Law at the University of California, Hastings. Mother's already We're at the breaking point in the United States. I mean, we already had a choc your system that was basically a Rube Goldberg machine and the coronavirus brought that machine crashing down. Williams says. What she wants the Biden administration to do is to recognize that Just as we don't expect workers to get to work without physical infrastructure like bridges and roads. We can't expect workers to get to work without a care infrastructure. What would that care Infrastructure look like for Williams? That would mean subsidized neighborhood based child care, paid family leave Universal, pre K and $15 an hour minimum wage, especially during the pandemic. Single moms have had to choose between putting food on the table and leaving young Children home alone. Now. Part of the reason is because the minimum wages so low that there is no way on God's green Earth that those moms can pay for childcare. The paid caregivers are also reeling from the crunch. President Biden highlighted this when he announced his covert 19 relief plan last month. Let's make sure caregivers mostly women, women of color immigrants. Have the same pay indignity that they deserve. Advocates like I Jen poo, director of the National Domestic Workers Alliance, are heartened by what they're hearing from Biden. Her group represents workers, including nannies, home care workers and housekeepers, actually focusing on how we're going to make Thies jobs, good jobs for the 21st century. That you can take pride in and earn a living wage with benefits. That is a really big breakthrough. Conservatives, though, are leery of an agenda that carries a hefty price tag and they warn, will lead to crushing government regulations. Charmaine Yost is vice president of the Institute for Family Community and Opportunity at the Heritage Foundation. My biggest concern is that all of the proposals that I'm hearing coming from their side of things inevitably seem to come back to big government intervention in government programs. As for raising the minimum wage in the midst of a pandemic, when many businesses are suffering so badly if there were a time that you could create, that would be the perfect time to not Raise the minimum wage. This would be it with such a slim Democratic majority in Congress. Biden's agenda could have a tough time gaining traction. But Fatima Goss Graves, who heads the National Women's Law Center, is undaunted. Her group has issued an ambitious list of 100 demands for Biden's 1st 100 days. Basically, what we're asking this administration and Congress to do is effectively walk into gum. We need them to both undo things that have been harmful and have been Holding this country back and launch us forward in a way that we're stronger for it, Graves adds. This president doesn't have the luxury of coasting in Melissa Block NPR news

Queen Latifah stars in the new “Equalizer” series as Robyn McCall

"The new Reimagining of the series. This one this time starting Queen Latifah. She is the equalizer. She's a wait a minute when former equalizer is a guy Edward Woodward? Yeah, from the eighties, I thought it was there. I thought it was Denzel Washington. Well, that was a few years ago in the movie. Yeah, I remember the eighties Syriza Edward Woodward and he was kind of an older British British guy, right? Yeah, but he was always a bad ass. And I remember one episode in particular were Adam and showed up as a villain that checks out I can follow. I need to find that now I need to go and watch that. Yeah, So here, Queen Latifah plays a woman with the CIA background to quit the CIA. Now she's helping out the downtrodden Azan, independent agent. And she's working with people in the cast is pretty solid here. Chris knows Lorraine Tu sunt. Uh, Adam Goldberg. Nice to see him Working and Liesel appear a You would know if you saw her. She's been in a lot of comedies that this is a war of the straight drama Rolling. It looks looks good, so far from what I've seen of it. Well, if if Queen Latifah is the equalizer Adam and had better watch out and a man could still show up is a villain. Yeah, I don't I'm not ruling it out.

So it was like a mess of like. Shit like that and I was like I can't see that I'm messy unlike I'm sure we'll go out again with the following weekend was labor day we Memorial Day weekend and he was in Jurassic Park movie and I never heard from him again. Okay and no you were not going to keep them in your cubbyhole at the groundlings because there were rats there. I never even knew that you could keep things there. We finally here always like Oh you can always putting the back seater bike card that I just had some shit that Celica I did too I never I for the longest time. "Habits, company. And so then you did that for a few years and then when did bridesmaids come about because that just changed that changed female comedy movies I think. So for the better like we'd never seen anything like that. And let see that. Okay. So the first table read we have for bridesmaids in two thousand seven. Now. How did you get the part because? So many of you knew each other and work together you Maya Rudolph and Kristen Wig, right? Yeah and. Melissa. McCarthy you were all from the groundlings. Yes. We all met at a bridal shower. Really crazy. WHO's Rachel Rambo's okay. Rachel. Ever, reach a Harris. The. Different Rachel. Okay so you. So that's where you all. That's where we all met. I had never met Kristin. A little behind me in the Hall Maya was already on SNL. Melissa was in the main company and it was at Melissa's apartment Melissa was on Gilmore girls and she had this gorgeous apartment really kitschy in fun and we went there for. A bridal shower and I was like. God. There's my Rudolph sitting right there. Oh my God. This is so weird. And like Kristin and I were broke. Yeah. So I WANNA say didn't wasn't on s and Elliott. No. Okay. This Sunday no she wasn't even in the Sunday company I think she was in advanced she's trying to get voted in she was going Saturday nights to kiss them exactly and that's definitely what I was doing. But So Anti Molo. Who was also right behind me in the school she and Kristen wrote this. This movie. First table read was in two, thousand seven. So by that time, I had also done love Spring International I don't know if you know I don't remember other all Improv show but it okay lasted one season. Okay. But. Anyway. We did. A tale a with Joe. Was it like written for you or once they put it together eight now but did they go right to you or did they like audition people? They auditioned people okay. So okay. So the first table reads in two, thousand seven then it just kind of sat around for a while and then two thousand ten came up and they said, Oh, you know it's back in play and we're going to have auditions right? Might when you do the rate in two, thousand seven, did you think it was hysterical as as it was? Going to buy different. A lot different but it was fun. Yeah. Oh, good for them. They wrote A. Screenplay. Well in in the meantime, any Molo, the CO writer she had had one child and was pregnant with number two and was gonna be Playing Melissa the role that eventually went to Melissa. McCarthy k. she was just too pregnant and yes like not good. So she is the girl on the plane that Kristen says. I'm freaking out about flying in and he goes, Oh, I had a dream the plane went down you were in it. Right? So yeah that's Anne. Okay. So Thinking how funny that was. She's like I. What does she say when she's like? Ready to. Yeah okay. So God. Yes. So we Did Audition for and that my first audition was on a Saturday. and My GRANDPA had died that week and I was like not in the mood to be funny. But. I. Thought That's Awfully Nice of them that they called me and I'm GonNa. Go I went in I did my thing and. Okay whatever I don't expect to hear anything but I did. And then I went to a callback and there's all these actresses. Like Lille, actress frame is. Way. More. Famous. I was like. Well, that's nice that they let me come back right? That's. Come on what what stand up ladies these are me. So I went in I just threw it away and. Okay went home. got called back again even more people in the waiting room and I'm like. Fuck. This is just solid. These girls are solid they keep bringing me back in. So Nice but I never thought. I would get it and we improv. Into things because you know they were kind of like. We've got all these bridesmaid's but we don't really know how to differentiate any of them. The script went through. So okay. So then I get a call Anne and Kristen on the phone and they're like Wendy. You know we just WANNA say. Thank you for auditioning. It was really. Nice, and We. You really just gave everything. And you're so funny. So I don't want you to take this the wrong way, but we want you to do it all. That is great. It was like Oh my God. So the whole time you're thinking. They knew they knew they knew how to. Just, like we learned the groundlings of the big letdown exactly now, you then create a kid I loved your story, which was you were miserable married with four boys, which was so relatable to be, and I thought it was so funny like those parts where they where they're planning the the lake cows bachelorette. I Want I want some fun I've had it to top that's been waiting to be. Like now, that Improv from you or was that like the four boys and all that was given to you or no. We got to create a we had work sessions where we would just like improvise and they would film all of it and then amazing you know so. A lot of I based my thing on the real housewives. Everything is completely comfortable this woman but why does she have this? Malays. Okay. What nothing's really wrong. You see her in a scene where she's like I'm surrounded by savages the kids are quietly playing. Yeah. Nothing is wrong with this bitch but. Except maybe she needs to get a job, right? Yeah and she's like I want Paul's in my face I want balls in my face. But what would happen if she got balls interface she start crying? Yeah. We've ever. Whole. Rude. The crunchy that crunchy come socks or whatever that description was hilarious about your boys laundry and like the hell you are living in. Now that was told to me by a woman I worked with. A longtime ago who said Told me this awful story about how. Her mother-in-law used to have to beat her husband's underpants against the fence..
