New York Mayor Praises City on Election, Says Federal Aid Major Issue
"With the election still in doubt, Mayor De Blasio is still hoping the feds will help the city dig out of covert debt. Here's rich land. The mayor says New York City needs a strong federal stimulus to get us back on our feet. I asked him. Given that the Senate looks as though it will remain majority GOP. Does he still believe that's goingto happen in February? As he projected it might. I think, if you've got a Democratic president, Democrat house in a very closely split Senate, clearly you have the basis for a major stimulus. I think it President Trump had called for major stimulus, he would have gotten it, DiBlasio noted. If the voting puts former vice President Biden in the White House, clearly a Democratic president who can get a few Publicans who represent states and dire need to join in. I think we can get a strong stimulus, the mayor asserted. Even if Mr Trump were to prevail, there will be huge pressure on him to do a stimulus, adding The country can't recover
Senate Control Still Unclear: 2020
"Come on members of Congress in Georgia, faring pretty well on election night, But there are some new faces goingto Washington from our state as well. First of all in the sixth House District Democrat Lucy McBath, defeating Karen Handel in a rematch between the two in the seventh, which encompasses for Sy thing, Gwinnett County. Caroline Bordeaux, edging Republican Rich McCormick. Now the Democrats who won reelection Sanford Bishop, Hank Johnson and David Scott. Republicans returning to Washington include Buddy Carter, Drew Ferguson, Austin Scott Barry Loudermilk, also Rick Allen and then Jody Hice of the 10th district. No faces in the fifth District Democrat Nike, Mo Williams, easily winning John Lewis's seat. And then, of course, Republican Andrew Clyde victorious and the ninth District in North Georgia, considered the most conservative district in the state. We are still waiting on the result of one of George's US Senate race is the race between David Perdue and John S off remains too close to call. We do know, however, that Republican incumbent Kelly Leffler and Democrat Raphael Warnock will meet in a run off for the other Senate seat. We're not thanking his supporters last night, you for pushing me one step closer. Of the Senate because when I get there you will go with me. Your concerns will go with me. Your issues will go with the runoff for the unexpired term of Senator Johnny Isakson set for January 5th Republican Congressman Doug Collins of Gainesville coming in third in that race.
Did the polls get it right this time?
"Newspapers. Yeah, you know, you know, Brad after the last election between Mr Trump and Hillary Clinton I remember. Pollsters were particularly sensitive when people would say all the polls were wrong. They said. Hillary Clinton was goingto win and the pollsters said no, No, The Poles were right. You know, she got The the Ah popular vote, But there were some quirks in the electoral college system. And so Donald Trump Trump ended up in the White House. Do you think that that's the conversation that's going to be happening again after this election? Well, you know, the national polls in 2016 were correct. They showed Hillary Clinton winning the popular vote by 3%. She ended up winning by less than 3%. Failing of the Poles was there was very little good polling done late in the battleground states. So even though the national polls right on Uh, there wasn't enough polling in the battleground states to measure the trump surge, but I think there's going to be another re examination of the poles because, you know, basically I looks like Joe Biden is gonna win the popular vote, but not by as much as the pole last rave polls predicted, But I think we're gonna have to reserve that judgment. Until we count. There are a lot of votes. That are uncounted. Uh, especially in the upper Midwest, probably millions of them and I don't think we're going to know how after the polls were until they finish counting those early votes. Ah, which are trending very heavily democratic. So I think we're gonna have to reserve judgment on the accuracy of the poles until they finished counting the
Biden urges patience with vote count, says he's on track to win
"Patience is command herbal. We knew this is gonna go but who knew were going to go into? Maybe tomorrow morning? Maybe the longer But look We feel good about where we are way. Really? I'm here to tell you night way believe we're on track to win this election way We knew because of the unprecedented early vote in the mail and vote. It's gonna take a while. We're gonna have to be patient until we, uh the hard work of Italian votes is finished. And it ain't over till every vote is counted. Every ballot is counted more feeling good. We're feeling good about where we are. We believe one of the Nets has suggests that we've already won Arizona, but we're confident about Arizona. That's a turnaround were also just called from Minnesota. And we're still in the game in Georgia, although that's not what we expected. We're feeling really good about Wisconsin and Michigan bythe. It's gonna take time to count. Those were goingto win Pennsylvania
It's Election Day. Take a breath. Here's what to expect.
"Politics. And this landscape in particular, Wendy Schiller joins us. She of Brown University, of course on a friend to the program, and Teo Is the station with the chair of political science again at Brown University. Wendy, What is your base case? No. I just get right to it. I think here's what I think will will know from some congressional races, I think, signaling earlier than even the presidential races. We know that there's a lot of people who are elected in 2018 in what we call competitive swing district like Virginia, for example. Leave Illinois. We have a couple of races in Texas that look really tight and are surprisingly competitive. We have a couple of Minnesota, you know if things start to swing in congressional district sooner. For the Democrats. Then you start to think, Okay, maybe buy will have a very good night. But, you know, we'll know about Florida will know about North Carolina will know about Arizona, and we'll know about Georgia, probably, but before midnight tonight, and if all of those swing for Trump If Trump looks really healthy in those states and looks like he could win, then I think things get very, very dicey for Biden, so that's a big sort of vomit or buying only when one of those states You know, one of those four states or look like he's in the lead in a considerable lead in one of those states for him, that sort of have a more relaxed night. But if he if Trump wins, all of Omar looks like he's going to win all of them, I think that that tells us that this sort of blue wave we thought might emerge isn't going to emerge the same way. So, Professor. How do you think the Senate will shake out is there in fact, you know the market's kind of suggesting here today that a blue wave may in fact be in the cards? How do you think that might go in the Senate? That that that's a great question, Paul because you think about the Senate, and you think you know Mitch McConnell is totally immune. This time, you would have thought if there's a big blue wave. You know, The guy has really been the poster boy for the campaign against the Republicans controlling the Senator Mitch McConnell. He's goingto probably breeze to reelection, some a little suspicious of that big blue way for the Senate. Iowa looks neck and neck. You know, we had a recent poll. That's very credible that looks like Joni Ernst can pull it out and stay. You know if Cal Cunningham can win in North Carolina That suggests probably that the Democrats might get 51. If they can win Maine as well. Probably away in Arizona. Probably gonna win Colorado and lose Alabama, so they're looking at probably minimally a 51 49 Republican, or 50, 50 51 49 Democrats. So I think that's where they you know, we don't know. And I think that's where North Carolina becomes so important, even even if we don't know by Trump. You know, it's Cal Cunningham looks like he's really gonna win that race that suggest better things. The Democrats across the board for the Senate Say some of that again. When do you say Arizona is definitely going to go Democrat Texas? What did you say about Texas? And then also, I think, Arizona for Mark Kelly. I think he's been polling very consistently ahead of Martha makes alley. But you can imagine, let's say people voting for more. Kelly, a former astronaut. You know and not voting for Joe Biden. You know, voting for Kelly because they want him over more than Sally and they voted for Trump in Arizona. You didn't see the Democrats winning Senate in Arizona but not winning the presidential race. Then Texas is, you know, shocking right? The turnout in Texas has been absolutely shocking. And but it looks like John Cornyn comfortably ahead of head guard that the challenger there, But I think the issue is that Trump is only basically one point ahead in Texas, which is just you know, if you think about politics, just stunning. Same with Georgia. George will be interesting because it does not get 50% or more against us off. Then you've got to run off elections in Georgia in January, and I think that's really going to be some interesting voting dynamics, so it's possible the Senate Democrats could ultimately end up with a 51 of 52 majority, but I still think it's a bit of a long shot. So Professor if the presidential election becomes contested, what is your kind of base case for how it may play out? I think we could be faced with an unprecedented historic situation. I think you know if we have a tie, for example, if in the Electoral College in December's actually a tie, it goes to the newly elected house, which is expected Thio more Democratic. However, the Republicans still control more votes in state delegations than the Democrats, and that's Probably isn't going to change so you could conceivably have literally the house electing a re electing President Trump but in the Senate. If it's 51 49 with the new Senate and its new Democrats, then they may like Tomahawk. Advice. I mean, really, quite stunning. It's really stunning thing. So I think so many things have changed already in 2020 weather, Trump gets reelected or not, is obviously monumental. But even if he gets reelected, I think the Democrats have shown they know how to mobilize voters, and I think they've shown some of these states have changed a lot in terms of demographics, and they are going to be more competitive, moving forward. Which changes the nature of politics going to 2022. If we know that politicians look at the next election the minute this election is over, and so when we start to think about what the balance of power might be in the Senate house in 2022 these gains the Democrats appear to be making among voters in the states. Changes a lot of dynamics, which will probably change some of the policies coming out of Congress. Yeah, I mean, it's really the African American gold, right, Wendy and how much more of that will see? We're already seeing, you know, a lot more engagement. Yeah. So I think African American who has always been key in North Carolina and Georgia had about 64% African American turnout in 2016. It wasn't enough because those numbers were not hit in in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania among African American voters, and they, you know they may or may not get there. If they get there, I think Biden winds relatively easily. But what's interesting is suburban white women. Of all educational levels seem to be really vehemently at the moment against Trump in the polls, and it could be that instead of the black vote really being key in the Midwest, it ends up being white women. Which would be really interesting shift, you know, mirrors 2018 when white, the majority of white women voted for democratic candidates, But it would change the nature of the Democratic coalition. If that were the deciding factor, So that's what I'm looking for. I'm looking for turnout, particularly in particular counties in Michigan. Well, we still have. A lot of people are gonna vote in person and certainly in Pennsylvania when you were really out of time. But I am desperate to
Right-wing militias are gearing up for an armed response on Election Day
"News National correspondent Michael Bauer. Michael I just mentioned there. Ah, couple of states at high risk for militia. Activity today and or tonight just exactly what does that mean? I think I know what militia means. But then charity told me that the Miriam Webster Dictionary today said that hot dog was a sandwich and we know that's not true. Hot dogs. I Oh, yeah, Dogs very much. So. So, what are we talking about here? Well, look there, according to and again, this is a group. I didn't even know how to report. But the armed conflict location and event data project, along with a group called Militia Watch, They are determined and have determined the areas susceptible to right wing militia groups with the most volatile area situated in state capitals and surrounding towns. Now the reason they're bringing this up is because not only have they seen over the summertime, a development that has some of these right wing organizations. Uh, give plenty of names like the proud boys. The Patriot Prayer oath Keepers. Three percenters. Not only have they become more emboldened and also feel empowered, but they've also become more assertive with activities ranging from intervening in protests to organizing kidnapping plots. Tow target elected officials as we know from Michigan. Now, the concern here is that what we've seen from Over the better part of the last couple of months with the black lives matter, protests moving into election here and calls on all sorts of levels for protests following the election if it doesn't go on persons way, I mean, even President Trump yesterday at two different rallies, talking about how there would be violence in the streets based upon Pennsylvania, and the call that the Supreme Court made to allow Pennsylvania have three extra days to count balloting that that was going to lead to violence in the streets and pointed specifically at places like Philadelphia. Cool. It is probably no shock to anybody that Pennsylvania makes a list of the top five Cities states. I'm sorry that have concerns over militia Oregon, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan and Wisconsin. Those air all areas that they're looking at concerns that these militia groups and other armed non state actors are going to pose a serious threat to the safety and security of American voters. Now, on a lesser level, the moderate risk Has places like North Carolina, Virginia, California, New Mexico and Texas. Now, what does that mean? I mean, these guys were like loaded up they've been doing. They're practicing their rehearsal. They've been going out and shooting to get themselves in top shape so that they could prepare for whatever goingto happen after the election. I don't know. I don't know what that necessarily means. As far as preparation goes, But the concern is they're active and they're ready. And what you're hearing from the president now talking about not just Inducing violence in the streets in this election, but pointing to that and not doing anything by the way to quell that not trying to subdue that not trying to say Hey, look, you've got armament. If you are an American citizen, and that's your vote. You can go out and use that boat today. In fact, he's kind of pointing to the fact that they're just will be violent. And then you see defense going up around the White House and then you see the boarding up of Buildings and stores in not just New York City in Manhattan, but also around Washington, D C and you start to go, man. This is not looking like the election day I was expecting to see happen, and then above and beyond that you got at least two states right there. In Texas Governor Abbott of these dispatched 1000 National Guard troops to major cities in anticipation of violence. Same thing in Massachusetts, and so The guards getting ready even though President Trump has not indicated he'll deploy them after the election, he could still do it and they're ready to go now. The

Retirement in America in 2020
"Happy to bring onto the program. Dr Ken Dike Wall, the founder and CEO of age wave. Can just keynoted, the financial planner retreat that we held here at Edelman financial engines last week. This time, of course, was done. Virtually Ken's clients include half the Fortune 500. He received the American Society on a Jing's award twice. He's one of the 35 most influential thought leaders in the financial services industry, according to investment news. Ken. Thank you so much for coming back on the program record is always great to be with you. Now. The reason that I asked him to come on is because of something can said at our retreat. That I've heard. Can you say that several times you and I have known each other for 20 years. I've seen you speak more times than I can remember. You're one of my favorite public speakers. And you said something again in this event, but this time it finally hit me and it got me thinking you gave the following statistic as part of your conversation with us. You said every year in America. We produce about four million babies. And we are also producing about 20 million caregivers. Now that statistic itself is shocking five times as many people are caring for elders as they are for babies. That was really your point reflecting the aging society, right? That was the point you were making. Yes. But it got me thinking it's even worse than that, isn't it? Because when you have four million babies that doesn't mean four million new moms, lots of mom's air having their second or third baby. Which means we're not producing four million new moms were producing Maybe one or two million new moms versus the 20 million new caregivers. The dispersion is even worse than the statistic itself. Suggests, isn't it? Yeah, it's something that sort of off the radar, but it's not off the radar. I'm sure for all of your listeners because nearly every one of us is touched by this in our life, you know, looking after a mom or a dad or a spouse or brother or a sister. It's become a major part of life now and There's a couple of valuables and erected, really pull it together. First, we a cz, you know, and your listeners know we're all living quite a bit longer than humans have ever lived before. The life expectancy in the beginning of the 20th century was 47. Today. It's about 79. But by the way, I'll also tell you that there are 33 countries in the world that have a higher life expectancy than we do. We are very middling when it comes to longevity. But the really interesting piece of it is what's called health span. So our health span doesn't seem to be matching our lifespan. What I mean In the United States. On average, we spend about 10 years sick at the end of our lives, and sometimes we can even spend years dying. Now what that does is, it creates an entire segment of our population. Turning that suffering for whom Our health care system has not done a good job preventing illness or disease but also causes family members. Tohave tow walk away from their jobs, their take every Tuesday afternoon off or relocate. In order to look after either their spouse or their mom and dad and the numbers are enormous. You mentioned 20 million new ones last year, but all in is over 40 million elder caregivers right now in America. And that number can on ly get bigger, right? Yeah, it's going to get bigger and a little more complicated, and I'll explain this. First of all, one of the major variables here has to do with the relation between Men and women and let me explain in America. The average woman who's partnered with a man has a man whose 2.5 years older than her. That's the average right now. The women live five years longer than men. So what usually happens then, At the end of one's life, the mangroves, Il begins to falter. The wife will put everything inside and care for her maid for her loved one. He dies, she might be emotionally depleted. They might even be financially depleted because they perhaps didn't have the resources. Handle what happens when someone is ill. But then she's going to live another 7 to 10 years. Who's going to care for her now for boomers. Now I'm a boomer, and I think you are, too. When our parents were having us. They were averaging four kids each, so the greatest generation in the silent generation had a lot of kids. And they were kind of close at hand. Boomers only averaged about two kids each and about almost 20% of the boomers had no kids at all. And so what happens is when we enter into our later years. Who's going to care for us? And so there's gonna be more of a caregiving crunch, which means at home care industries. They're goingto surge. More and more people are going to seek out housemates. More and more. I think we need to put pressure on the medical system and our scientific systems. Because if we could knock out diseases like Alzheimer's, if we could wipe out I know that's something you're committed to if we could wipe out some of the really nasty diseases of the later years. Then we wouldn't have so many older people suffering and therefore we wouldn't have such a need for caregivers. So we've got to get the lifespan and the health span to be more in sync exactly. So this is something that is as fundamental is a gets from a financial planning perspective what we were now referring to as life planning to help people realize what your future is likely to hold, and you've got to think about it in terms of your intergenerational aspects of your family. How many Children do you have? How many of them can you rely on either because of proximity because of willingness because of financial wherewithal to be able to be a caregiver to you, And if you have suspicions that that's not going to be available to you for any of the above reasons you need to start thinking about alternative ways that you can get the care that you're going to need and not just you, but also for your spouse. Right. And another thing that's happened, Rick is it during this horrible covitz situation? 46% of all the deaths have occurred in nursing homes and still nursing facilities. And they're probably not completely to blame because they housed some of the most struggling elders by half of whom have Alzheimer's and dementia. But what happened as a result of that Is that a whole lot of people are saying to themselves, man. I don't think I want to be in a nursing home. Well, okay, then. Then you need to sit down with your financial planner and make sure you've got some resources or talk to your family. So that you could be looked after the comfort of your home in the way you want to be looked after without having to worry about being parked in a nursing home can thank you so much for raising this issue it is. I think something that we're not giving a lot of thought of. We've got an election coming up in a few days. We have the midst of the covert crisis in front of us. Andi. It's very difficult for people to look beyond the here and now given what our nation is facing imminently to looking ahead 5 10 20 years into our financial future, but it's extraordinarily important that we do so especially in the context of the election because it's our nation's leaders who were about to send or return to Washington. That are going to be key for figuring out the public policies necessary to help protect tens of millions of aging Americans over the coming couple of decades. Exactly. Ken Dike. Well, thank you so much for mentioning this your book. As I mentioned what retirees want. It's hugely popular already hitting all the bestseller lists. You're subtitle really says it all, though, about what your new book What retirees want is all about. Subtitle is a holistic view of life Third age, and that's a lot of what I'm trying to put forward in this book for our grand parents when they reach retirement age. Had a couple of three years before their batteries were out today, most of us we had 60. We have another 30 years in front of us and trying to figure out how to make sure we can fund those years and also have a great time during that stage of our life, and maybe even make some great contributions. I think it's going to be the challenge of the future. So I encourage you to pick up a copy of Ken's brand new book What Retirees Want Available Booksellers everywhere. Ken Dyke, Wild founder and CEO of Age wave. Thanks so much Kan for being back here on the program. Stay healthy. Stay safe, Rick. Thanks.
Trump, Biden make final campaign push with less than a week before Election Day
"Time next week, we'll be sorting through what we know of results. Amazing. We're getting close will be sorting through a lot. So in these final days, we do the itineraries. Tell us anything about the race. Tell us a lot. They show who's on offense. Who's on defense President Trump was in Nebraska yesterday, fighting for the one electoral vote that the Omaha area congressional District Awards polls show Biden up there. Even as Trump is expected to win the state as a whole. The president is making repeated trips to the states that put him in the White House, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, He needs to hold them to win a second term. And beyond that he's just going everywhere. Arizona today trying to put a dent in the steady national lead that Biden has built, and at the same time, Biden went to Georgia yesterday. That's a place Democrats have not won since 1992. But they're getting closer and closer in recent elections, and early voting trends indicate a lot of younger first time voters are showing up and Democrats feel like that could be the key to winning. Then, later this week, Biden goes to Iowa. His running mate, Kamala Harris, is going to Texas. And all of this underscores thie different routes to 270 electoral votes that Biden has right now. Even though his campaign is certainly making sure to keep coming back to Pennsylvania and those other key states. They don't want to repeat 2016 and neglect those places, right? Well, that's where the candidates are. What are they saying? What's the message in these final days? I've been messaging has really been focused on leadership of using the perch of the White House to be more inclusive and unifying. Hey, went to warm Springs, Georgia yesterday. That's a place that Franklin Roosevelt spent so much time trying to recover from polio and then later on in life. I didn't give a speech there, drawing in Roosevelt and amplifying this message of resilience and hope. He also continued to criticize President Trump's lack of leadership confronting the pandemic here. He was later in the day in Atlanta. Or the 225,000 dead Americans because of covert 19. 7800 right here in Georgia. Millions of people are out of work on the edge. I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel of Donald Trump has given up And, by contrast, here's President Trump in Omaha last night, we will get rid of this whole thing. We will get rid of this virus. It'll be very you watch. It's going to happen very quickly, and we're goingto have our country back and the whole world is going to be coming back. President. Trump, of course, was hospitalized than recovered. And since then he's double down this message that the virus is not so bad, but that's not stacking up against the reality of record numbers of cases in recent days. Especially in places like the Midwest where where President trump wass and hospitalizations air up as well? Scott. What one issue That's come up a lot recently, especially Pennsylvania's fracking. I know it's an issue you actually covered in a former life. Can you talk us through this issue and what what it's about? Yeah. President Trump has really been seizing on comments that Biden made in the last debate that he wants to phase out fossil fuels like oil and gas. Biden does want to limit future permits for fracking on federal land, but not ban it as a whole. The president thinks this is something that can really hurt barging in Pennsylvania. I think there's a lot of reasons why it might not be the powerful argument that the president thinks he is just to take through them quickly. The industry slowed down a lot in recent years from its peak in Pennsylvania. There's a lot of wind and solar activity and in booming business there and maybe most importantly, it's always been controversial in Pennsylvania because of environmental concerns, and that's especially the case in the eastern part of the state. Where there's a lot of votes.
How to make sure your vote gets counted in Washington DC
"A double duty Opie with 13 days until the election day, November 3rd. As with other parts of the area, D C. Is examining your signature when you mail in your ballots or put it in a drop box. When you sign your ballot to vote in DC your signature is checked to make sure it's legitimate. We're going to evaluate that side by side by a person, A human. Nick Jacobs, the public information officer for the D. C Board of Election, says that if they don't think that the signature matches the one you used at the polls in previous elections or the one on the record when you got your driver's license, we're goingto have another set of eyes put on. About a dozen ballots have been flagged so far because the board said they didn't match and another 100 have not had a signature at all. And if one of these happens to your ballot, we will reach out to the voter to have the ballot cured to remedy the signature. If you were planning to vote by mail and didn't receive your ballot, yet, you should
Washington DC tosses out wrongly filled ballots
"You turn in your ballot in DC your signature is checked before it's counted. We instantly compare it with side by side with the signature that we have on record. Nick Jacobs, the public information officer for the D. C Board of Elections, says that a dozen ballots have been tossed out so far for the signature not matching the ones voters previously used at the Poles or from the one on record at the DMV. If there's a question we're goingto have another set of eyes put on it. If they decide that it doesn't match it's thrown out, he said about 100 ballots have been thrown out for not having a signature at all. Another issue they're seeing. Heard of instances where someone has has cast three votes instead of only two for the at large council seats. And what happens to those ballots where too many candidates are selected. California releases guidelines for theme park reopenings
"The theme park officials here in California, expected to respond today to the state's decision on reopening the guidelines, they announced yesterday. California's not goingto let large theme parks open until they get on the yellow tear. That's the least restrictive. President Seo for Universal said in a statement that the shameful guidelines made no sense. Disney officials made their case yesterday saying they're ready to reopen. They certainly done so in Florida in the parks around the world, they say, have been doing well with safety measures. 5 20,

Ice Cube defends working with Trump campaign on 'Platinum Plan' for Black Americans
"Caught on politicians to sign his contract with Black America and laid out 13 areas for improvement related to police report on prison reform, they lending so much more The President's administration actually absorb some of this into the White House is platinum Plan with ice cubes. Help sell trumps platinum plan aims to increase access to capital and black communities by always 500 billion, creating 500,000 black owned businesses and three million new jobs for the black community. That strength, strengthening immigration policies, immigration and policy policies. There's a lot of good things. Okay, well, I have to give us back our information for you. Ice Cube gave the Trump campaign permission to tell the world that they worked together on this that they were working together. Then the world when they found out Twitter got mad and just trashed Ice Cube. Bring old lyrics. Old tweets old this old that in like, how are you dealing this? You're a horrible person. You're betraying the black community. It isn't this and this. And ask. You actually wanted to make it clear, he said. He asked both parties to work with him. OK, Democrats said. Let's talk about this after the election. However, the Republicans said, Let's talk about this now and do something now. Okay, so you gonna go play a little bit of what else he had to say. And this is him talking about the CW baby that you just mentioned in game is to get a candidate to adopt this plan because it's needed for black America. You know, we are. Got our favorite candidate that we wanna win, but that they as we need just done no more time to talk. No more promises. That's the endgame. Okay, so that's him trying to, you know, Look, he's got a guy here who's instead of talking about everything that's wrong. He's trying to make something happen. He's trying to put something on paper and say, Will you sign this? Will you enact this? Will you make this happen? And yeah, sometimes. Unfortunately, that means you got to work with people that maybe you used to consider the enemy. Because maybe they're the ones in charge and I feel bad for Ice Cube. You mentioned the old lyrics about people bringing up the song where, he said, I'll never have dinner with the president. I'll never have dinner with the president and the tweet that he tweeted in. 26 team says I will never effing support Donald Trump. My thing is and I'm just going to be on the outside of here. My biggest, I guess. Quote unquote Idol Air quotes is Michael Jordan and Michael Jordan came on TV tomorrow and I'm voting for this one. It would not change if you don't like what I see Cuba's saying, if you do like what I see, he was saying I shouldn't affect like there's unless he tells you. Hey, good. By the way, I found out from Trump that he has a cure for cancer and didn't give it to you If you vote. Yeah, I think the difference is Michael Jordan never came out and said, I will never support Donald Trump. Has there been anything in your life that you said I'll never do when you've done may be speaking out abroad. Hey, I'm never going to try that restaurant. I'm never goingto listen to this type of musical asparagus. You don't like people just like just if that's what he wants to do, let do it. Yeah, but But people are calling him a

Even though Lakers lost Game 5, LeBron James made the right call on final play
"I mean, where else can you say about LeBron in a loss? He was magnificent. I mean, It's almost going to be disheartening. For him in a sense. To play that well. And not win the championship. To be that Transcendently good. And Not when the championship I mean, for the heat, they get a little bit of Ah. To get a little bit of life. And A chance to play. Another day and maybe get a little healthier. And built their confidence up a little bit. And and I still believe that the Lakers win the series. But I mean, When you take into account if you're building any case as to why they wouldn't It's that Anthony Davis is hot, little little bit. And You know that had just has to be a disheartening blow for James. He'll bounce back and again when I say I'm making a case. I'm not saying this was gonna happen. I do believe they were still with Siri's. And I don't think you know, being disheartened is the kind of thing that will stop LeBron from winning the series, but it just has to be disheartening. T put up You know the numbers that he did. It's not about that. You know, when I see the numbers that's just the way to illustrate how good he was. Ah, you watch that game and and you, you see simply how You know? Masterful performance that was there to Duelling Duelling masterful performances. What Given that the rest of the Lakers team really wasn't helping LeBron last night. You know, other than Davis had a solid game, but other than that of the other guys, struggle, Koel Pope. Stepped up hits and big shots. But to go 15 of 21 from the floor. What's that? 75%? 40 points. 13 boards seven assists, three steals. Including. You know the big buckets down the stretch of the game. Big plays down the shirts of the game. Ah, and lose. When you thought that was, then you're gonna be sealing the deal Is this hardening? It has to be. So they play again on Sunday. And you know Of course, there's also going to be Some focus on the final play. Of that game. Which is just irritating to me. Look any time. There's ah, a big Big play down the stretch of the game. The Ah No, the hyper focus is going to be there. But with James it just seems to be You know, the kind of thing that is is Either done In a disingenuous fashion with an agenda. Or Just done out of like hysterical, reactionary. Um Thinking that that you know that almost belies that your brain is broken when I'm referencing is the fact that he needed to take that last shot of the game. I mean, look, they put the ball in LeBron's hands for a reason. It's not like LeBron shying away from that moment. I mean, the guy has more. Playoff. Game winners than anybody. Jordan. Kobe, you name it. He's got the most. He's proven it over and over and over again in that spot. What part of the reason You know, it's such a luxury to have him and he's the best player I've ever seen is that you could put the ball in his hands and there's a lot of ways he could beat you and that goes through throughout the game. I'm not, you know. Just talking about the last play of the game. But if you were listening to the telecast I believe it was both Van Gundy and Mark Jackson, who were saying You gotta let somebody else beat you. You have to. You have to force the ball out of LeBron's hands, and that's what the heat did on that final possession. They forced the ball out of his hands. I'm pretty sure I count four heat players accounted for heat players around him when he drove to the basket there. He put his head down, drove to the basket tried to get their season. He's goingto force the ball up through four guys for what would have been a terrible shot to try and make it so. The idea is, he should just do that out of pride. You know, people like to say a killer instinct. I mean, the guy's shown killer instinct. You doubt his killer instinct. Then you just feel like saying that. I think you're just going to do it. It doesn't matter. There's nothing you could do to prove otherwise. Oh, and You know when when he was there. He's surrounded by four heat players and Bam in a bio is coming for the the other side. He's going to get that shot pinned. Or going to have to, like, fling it up in the air instead. He does and makes the right play. Now he is the kind of guy who does that consistently. But you know, going back to the other great. It's not as if metal world peace didn't hit a huge shot that helps Kobe win a championship. It's not like famously, Jordan doesn't give the ball To Steve Kerr. Right. It's not like famously, John Paxson doesn't hit another shot, and again, it's goes to show you the level of fear of what he was going to do in that moment that there's four he players there. Instead, he passes it to a wide open. Danny Greene, who in the midst of a professional basketball game was following social distance rules by how wide open he was. Top of the key. This is what this guy gets paid to do. You know $15 million
Trump Pushes for Covid-19 Relief Measures After Shutting Down Stimulus Talks
"Trump is sending mixed messages about a possible Corona virus relief bill. He says he supports help for airline small businesses. Another stimulus check for individuals, but he also Broke off talks on a wider relief bill live on our news line Now is Bloomberg reporter Olivia Rockman. Olivia. Does this mean talks are back on? Are they off? Where do we stand? Well, it's pretty clear that Democrats don't really support a piecemeal bill, which means they wouldn't want just individual measures like that pass. So it's really unclear to us whether something like that would go through and even if it does, we don't expect that it would take place before the election on November, 3rd. So as you analyze this what kind of help Exactly is the president in favor of and what parts of it does He not like. It appears that overnight he switched his perspective on airline support, as well as stimulus checks to individuals which would near the $100 check that one out earlier in the pandemic. But beyond that doesn't seem like he's included state local government or increases to unemployment benefit, either. What are the consequences? The Fed is warning about. If there's no more help for the millions who are hurting because of the pandemic, what could happen? Right. So when you don't have additional money and people talking, so there that's from an employee benefit or people just not being able to stay afloat and then support their employees. That just means that there's less cash flowing through the economy, and that limits economic growth in the form of GDP, and it also leaves many people and needed additional welfare. So I guess the big question here in the one that people really want to know the answer to is What's goingto happen? There are a lot of people listening right now. Who say I could use that stimulus check? Am I going to get one? How do you read the tea leaves? Many economists have told us that they expect some sort of stimulus will happen. The big issue is the timing, So will that be before the end of the year? Will that be after the inauguration in January? On the other issue is what that will look like. So could it be a stimulus check? Maybe. Could it be additional unemployment benefits? Perhaps where did not sure where the talks were going to go? And I think You know the next coming days until Friday would really be a telltale signs of what might happen. Olivia. Thank you. That's Olivia Rockman at Bloomberg.

"When do you figure out if you need to sweeten the deal or not? Well, and that's that goes back to those days are market I was talking about, Okay, so just depending on so you wouldn't really know that At first, you would just kind of see how it goes at first and then You know if you live in a neighborhood that has 10 to 12 active listings on him, and they're not under contract. Well, there's your competition, right? Right. So what we're trying to do is decide. You know? How do we get your house to sell before they do? And maybe some of those houses a bit on the market a little bit longer, so we're not necessarily in that sort of Ah, time period right now are selling pretty fast. But if you do find yourself in a Situation where you do have a lot of active listings in your neighborhood. You want to make sure that you're going to stand out so all those other things we were talking about the decluttering, making sure your house is absolutely perfect before that very, very first showing. I'll make sure it stands out on the Internet that you've got professional photos that it's it's fully optimized. Eso. How important are the photos? Because whatever I look through, I'm kind of a listings junkie. I'm always looking just because it's fun to look at. And you see a really big difference. Sometimes it's really obvious that the Realtor just took pictures with their cell phone and they're not lit or anything like that. And then some other pictures look amazing, and you're on they could make The worst house look awesome, right, And that happens a lot, but having professional photos, I don't care what Price Ranger in. I mean, that's the very first impression that someone is gonna have a your house. They'll find it first online, right? And then they decide whether or not they're going to go see it. So make sure I don't care if you're in a $200,000 house or a half a million dollar house. Make sure that you've got good professional photos with wide angle lenses. The lighting's good that everything is clean. You know, the other thing I would say is Don't find a photographer. That's goingto photoshopped too much, you know, because one thing that can happen is I've seen houses like you said that have been photoshopped so much and you go in and you're really disappointed. Yeah, You know, it's a real big letdown from what you saw. Exactly. So don't try to let down your Liars because it's only going to show in the days on market and you're not going to be getting contracts. Eventually, people are going to have to see it in person. There's really no getting around that you don't make it is is nice as you can. But those those photos are really good, you know, Laying escaping. You know if you can clean up your front yard, the very first place that people go into your house when there there is your front door. You know how many times do you go through your front door every day? Yeah, I never do you don't you never do ever. I go through my garage, okay? I don't even know what my front door looks like. Practically right and alive. Willets rectangle, right. You know, a lot of people don't if they go into their garage side to her. So you've got to remember that the agents taking you through the going to be taking the buyers through the front door paint that door. Clean the front porch. Paint the railing. Make sure that the lock actually works. I can't tell you how many locks You know, keys break off in or they haven't been. Yeah, they haven't been used a lot. So they were hard to use. So make sure that block is actually working properly. I install one of those combination type lock so you wouldn't even need to have a lock box, Do you? Are you seeing that A lot? Yeah. You know, I wouldn't suggest that you give someone your personal so maybe changing that. That lot? Yeah, with mine. I can set up a special code and then I know that that was the Realtor or well, so, like you're talking about this all really kind of falls under first impression, Right? Right. So it's like you said with the photos, you know, you want him to be an accurate representation, because once they show up to the house, the first thing they're going to notice is wow. This looks different than the pictures. You don't want him disappointed. It's like online dating. You know, you don't want you don't want to put some Of a supermodel on there, and then you walk in and I walk in, and they're like, what eyes that right? Exactly. Yeah, And that's you know, having having that good first impression. I feel like I've heard this in the past and correct me if I'm wrong, but I think there's some statistic out there that like having a really good first impression or really good curb appeal will help your home cell for a little bit more than than average home. That doesn't have that. Is that true? Oh, absolutely. Yeah. You want someone to fall in love with it and to feel like that they don't have to do anything. "You know what else is out? Long term, they say blowing out the candles on your birthday cake. How disgusting So we're not going to doing that anymore. How about sharing a drag? You know you're not going to be too quick to put your friend's cigarette in your mouth. Or how about you're letting your kid jump into a ball pit talk about a disease festive environment. Or how about getting a quick makeover. Women love to leave work. Go to that makeup counter in the department store and have a quick makeover. Really? You're gonna let them put on you the stuff that they just put on Who knows who before you got there? I think getting those quick makeovers is either going to be radically altered or eliminated completely. You know what else is probably on the way out going to an escape room where you have to touch all kinds of stuff in a desperate effort to get out of that room. It used to be fun. Nowadays, it's I think not. Goingto allowed crowded bar huge environment for infections. That's out. So's putting two straws into a giant glass sharing is not going to be a cz much fun as it used to be. Hosting a poker game is probably something of the past. You really want to be touching the cards that everyone else at the table touched and the chips as well while sitting closely together I don't think so. Shopping aimlessly. Not anymore. You're going to go into the store, grab what you need and leave the notion of wandering around in a poorly ventilated space for hours for the heck of it. I think that's a thing of the past, Along with shaking, hands, hugging friends and kissing on the cheek. All of that is probably gone. And ifyou're lamenting any of that, I get it. "Polls are starting to shit. His president Trump Goingto run victory. Ladies and gentlemen, Children of all ages come to serve it with James T. Harris over the weekend. My phone with blowing up before saying Are you watching this? Are you watching this? I'm like now I'm at a wedding. What's going on? Zidan Trump was doing a little bit of ju jitsu. Turned the tables on the Democrats, and it seems like with all of the lawlessness going on in our cities that President Trump his Poles are going up on the center ring of the conservative circus. We have Marc Lotter. He serves at the director of Strategic Communications for reelection campaign. A President Donald J. Trump and Vice President Mike Pence. And Mark, We got this. We had to start with the burning question right now. Who will Joe Biden choose as his VP? And do we know who is really making head choice for the befuddled by tid? Of the actual question, James Do we care Theo yet? I mean, he's got it. He's actually on this. You gotta look at this short list just makes you scratch your head. He's got a Communist sympathizer. He's got a senator who actually thinks we should be discussing tearing down statues to George Washington. He has got a former disgraced national security adviser who screwed up everything in national security that Joe Biden didn't screw up. So I mean this thing. It's a clown car, which one of them he chooses. It just shows you that he's going to go with Somebody who's owned by the radical left and has crazy policy ideas that are bad for America's. It's It's amazing to be when you agree with their you're now says that each one of these VP picks but the one they're really just is brazen to me is a Susan Rice with all of the Benghazi questions still out there unanswered with the fact that she went out and lied to the American people about this whole thing. What makes Democrats think That she would be a good choice because she's going to bring all of that and the other scandals from the Obama administration, right back front and center for 2020 You have to wonder. But then when you look at the choices he's got, I mean, that may be the best among them. I guess love are on and you know, from our standpoint, it doesn't really matter. I mean, I'm actually here in Arizona right now. I mean, I mean, Tucson, where the vice president's going to be here and just a little bit having a major cops for Trump Rally of the Arizona Police Association going to endorse President Trump vice president Pence for re election. Because they know that this president stands for law and order. When you look at what's going on in our cities in Chicago, it's an embarrassment in Portland in Seattle in Minneapolis, and so many other places. You've got to think How far away is it from coming to your neighborhood? And when you call 911 you want a man or a woman in uniform and a badge coming there to help you in your greatest time of need? I think one of the things that's significant about president or vice president Pence being in there is all today into sound specifically to receive this Ah Arizona Police Association endorsement is that Puma County, Tucson, Arizona is one of the most liberal enclaves in the nation. I mean, next, you got to go to Berkeley or Dane County in Wisconsin. But get this to accept this there, I think speaks volumes of where we are in this country with the support for the police and the obvious. NTI policing that's happening in the Democrat Party. They shouldn't matter whether you're a Democrat or a Republican. If you're black or white man or woman. Police are not the enemy. And that's what Joe Biden called them. And he and his radical party and those who control that radical party now are leading the way in terms of de funding police disbanding police. I mean, this is not the answer. I say, James. I used to work for a mayor. Of a major city when it was a Republican, and we ran and won our elections on more police officers making your community safer, making it better and safer for your kids to go to school into the park and for you to go to work. Unless police is not the answer to that question. Mark Water is in the centre ring. Other conservative circus. He's a director of strategic communications for reelection of Ah, President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence. You're also going to be up in the Mesa area today to launch the launch of the latter day Saints for Trump Coalition. He tell us a little bit about that. Well, I think it's just another example about how so many people of faith and obviously regardless of the face, But when so many people of faith or standing behind this president because they know That he supports religious liberty. He supports religious freedom. He supports your ability to choose a school. Whether it's public private, parochial, That's best for your child. And he obviously is on a bask in his support for life. And so that's why we're seeing whether it's Catholics. Whether it's evangelicals, whether it's lbs. We have so many groups out there because they know That this president supports all the aspects of the First Amendment, including your freedom of religion. I think that that is breaking through. I think this is why this is another. Another wonderful move. Mark. What? What can you tell us about any steps that the Trump campaign is taken to stop the fraud of mail in ballots? Well, I'll tell you if there's a place to have a battle will have it because we're fighting this thing in every single courthouse statehouse in America that's trying to do this massive fraud campaign and I'm going to be absolutely blunt and open honest with you. We're not talking about absentee balloting. Absentee ballot by mail has been around for decades, and people have done it. It is well regulated. It is well maintained, and we support everyone's ability to apply for an absentee ballot. Get that ballots admitted back through the mail. But what we're talking about what we're seeing in these Democrat enclaves is they just want a mass mail out blank ballots. Not applications..
