"In Montana trip tipped it slide over tossing its owner ran off with our ended up leading police on a low speed chase but I'd love all blog for the greatest thing in on time and time imagine walking looking out at the whole still you are just I mean sit next to diet is just horrific perfect looking at you way to reach Davis gets here yeah when I had a lot is your right and with you know my done can I leave yeah yeah don't you want me to do anything that's right we had all day so thank you Mike you just got to be very cold now that Chris is very offended but like you said eleven thirty the next page yeah I know there's gonna be eleven thirty if you're expecting hello a lot of data thank you all right do we have jet all right Jay Gruden the former Washington Redskins coach is going to join us right here on the shell pens all performance by day and every CD is deliver letters are today the entire shows up in Bristol were having a blast we appreciate everyone up here supporting what it is that we do hi Jay thank you for coming on and we appreciate it what's up what's life been like the last few days would be up to required it really bored out of my mind really not available to golf flying out your friend it my wits about me and figure out the next move daisy your board I you know any coaches after the stop playing football they always have such a hard time figure out what they're going to do with their time so I know you're playing a lot of golf but at some point you can't just play golf everyday well you can't and his name have you had any thoughts about maybe what you could do next in the next let's say a month no I have not really technical in right now and trying to figure out what that next move will be the next month or so I guess got a leave my options open try to talk to some people and if there's anything I can do to help in some capacity somewhere doing something I don't know what that is yet and I really don't right now I'm enjoying my time off you know it's like the ground but as you know one go to work as many hours you do you take that away there's a lot of hours in the day that you've got to figure out what to do with all right that's it so you have some time were you able to watch the Redskins on Sunday get their their first win against Miami what was that like for you I didn't want to the actual playing golf so you should be doing jazz yeah and they are going to be hard and I let it go out at all or later Robert Trent Jones golf or couple buddies of mine had a good day happy puts on the players and the coaches I got the first when and J. all you hear is how bad the culture is in Washington that's all you hear about obviously I have no idea I've never I've never worked for the team I haven't been in that environment but that's what you hear from credible people that the environment the culture is really bad Washington just how bad was it for you toward the end there well I think a lot of we spent a lot of private trying different culture or drop the pretense you know like those I think we got all the players and good coaches in my house right now really I don't think the culture bad at all quite frankly we go out draft not an alum drawn pain no no I'm just I'm not talking about the culture you created I'm certain you tried to create a good culture I'm talking about the culture that you know Bruce Allen has created yeah I think yeah I I II I can't very negative about the culture and right now you know I think the most important thing is we are the coaching and you want to put it together you have a vision of what that should look like and sometimes it doesn't matter what other people vision network problems occur but you know on the flip side of that when you are coach you don't have GM responsibility the have total stay then you have to do the best we can with what you're given and I think that's what we try to do the coaching staff we do not always see eye to eye on some of the decisions that were made but at the end of the day that's the way it is in most only quite frankly so it's our job as coaches to work with what we have put together the best way we can and try to find that one fortunately I didn't get that done and the last so much has been made about whether or not the football side of the organization wanted to draft Wayne Haskins are there been reports those that I've even reported on that Bruce Allen Dan Snyder they were targeting when asking the entire time not open to listening to the suggestions of those that thought that maybe Washington to go in a different direction looking back on it do you do you wish that something went different there do you wish that more people on the football side spoke up to try to convince the front office that maybe they should a went a different direction well I think what you'll come here one your goal record going back for a broken leg we don't know how long it would be out the fact of matter and we had to get a call back and dropped somewhere sometime going into the great prospect and and so we chose to take him as an organization and unfortunately you know we people are excited when you take at fifteen one employer right away bottles are looking in that he wasn't quite ready to step in and play in the first five games in my opinion so I will take part really played thirteen or fourteen games look out later the very law but he's very talented and it will take the time with him just wasn't ready when I was there and maybe you'll get ready in the coming weeks but the the direction we decide to go lower quarterback some people like in that building later on a graph but we closed rain and and try to make the most of it you can't be very clear about about thank you bye J. here DSP and everyone knows your brother John these CMI campus they've heard of on the air all but one of the most common questions I get whenever I share with my colleagues that I covered Washington is they always want to know what you're like and I never really know how to describe you I would you say you're different than John how would you describe yourself compared to your brother I am what the for the John I think that the good thing is not many people like him but the I I a a more laid back again another great would look great better love the way I love football about about a great passion for the game trying to win every time we step on the field that were very much alike we just have different approaches he's a lot more on the edge of the seat very hyper speak I'm more of a laid back kind of guy more of a people person probably but you know I I shoot congresswoman everybody while I think but I don't know we're just a little bit different no two people are alike Diana no people people are like my three kids hello they're all totally what about your grandkids not people don't know your grandfather I'm old mammogram Paul gathered there quite awhile grandpa I don't agree upon five year old in the mobile right around there I stand like that's I I think being a grandparent is actually being better than a parent you get in small doses yet out of sight and get back on it for crying out hi to let's say you were to maybe consider a TV gig all right well yeah now we're talking all right what do you what do you think you'd be good I mean honestly you don't really need a lot of town to do it means you got to doing so I feel like this would be the show would be perfect for you because they don't even talks sports here or take over the garden cornerback can't you could do that your brother's coaching and I can do that you do a lot of like well a face for radio ID get that TV I'd be to get the pretty good and I have a pretty good perspective of what those that went off at the fact that favorite freedom in any help in the league far as a threat recall with killing people right now but you know I I don't know I think I'd be kind of fun to try to babble not a little bit but it the other day I feel like coach you know what I want to do with what I was going to do I love the game I love being part of a lovely people young man and trying to get them better maximize the potential unfortunately the poor job at Washington but hope we'll get a crack at who's more likely does does your brother play golf as well he does well I was gonna ask is more likely to cheat when you're playing golf your job at Dugway don he rolled the ball over Iraq what are the minute just ridiculous and and with money on the line of course right yeah he doesn't really play for money she says so when you guys go out for dinner who is easily is likely to be put in a right all the time actually pretty pretty good now regard all take care of that I do one of the things done washing the people I know about the grieving families Jay's wife sherry is a really good poker player like really get and I don't know about really good well from what I hear I got pretty good source there she's excellent at it so and I heard that you're you've been participating in some of these poker tournaments lately to sort of stay busy are you had at one level one of our neighbors on the gas the junkies a local radio show was there of all people he reported on one little leaf poker tournament at a neighbor's house how does not all the time Jay how do you how does your neighbor who I'm assuming as a friend okay you're going over to play poker you have a relationship how does your neighbor let a member of the media via the same poker tables you that's ridiculous also a great story had the same meet the same neighbor violence over to a name that tune challenge the big old fat really really fun and at my table will behold Brian Mitchell who's been shred me in the media for three years I'd like to help for the whole event was well uncomfortable but yeah it's always fun we had a good time.

"Identification in conjunction with NBC sports. This is Westwood One. Your home for the Stanley Cup playoffs. Jordan, Bennington of the Blue's already ten wins going for number eleven today's the tenth rookie to win ten in there. I only coupla let's have one goalie cop to another. Here's Darren Pang. Well, thanks very much in Jordan eleven to now following a loss in the regular season and the playoffs looking at it, what were some of the keys that you think of it as a goaltender to bouncing back. I think it's just about preparing the same way in that adds up to some consistency. And I mean that's important at this level, just you got to move on and have a short memory and win or lose. You know, it's a new day the next day and things can happen. So I just got to be prepared for that moment. We say that after a goal given up, and that's kind of an automatic thing where you can just delete it and move on. But after a native thinking about things did you go over a lot of things. What you did how the game went you beat yourself up that way. Or did you just eliminate it right away? And just just really truly move on like that. Sometimes they're laying in bed with your eyes closed. And you can think about certain moments in a game and stuff you might want back, but. You know, I just somehow just forget about it, I guess, and kind of move on and try to enjoy the next day. Okay. So what about the good things you sit sitting when you're line? And you're thinking things, are you a positive imagery guy where you're looking, and you think about the good moves that good saves the, the good things that happen. Yeah. It's kind of like the garden double-faults thoughts right on your shoulder. And you got to kind of outweigh the, the negative thoughts with the positives. And that's what I try to do a lot of time. And, you know, I just try to stay positive and stay focused and keep preparing the same way during your runs in major junior and we had some good ones. Did you ever go this long? Yeah. Well we won the won the championship one year and went to the memorial Cup. So we had a long run there, and it was a lot of fun. And I'm still in touch with a lot of players from there to this day. So it's a special time and you create a lot of good memories. So hoping similar similar here. Well, I know something that's probably not similar as the cameras all over the place. And I'm watching in the locker room when. You're getting yourself ready? The first time there's a camera there watching, you get ready. Was that odd the first time the cameraman was on the ice as you're getting ready before the anthem? Let me put a some of those things, and some of the adjustments in your life, and how you've been able to handle that kind of stuff. Yeah. It's cool. It's really cool ons. You know it's an incredible league and very professional. And you know, it's just well run, so it's exciting and with all the media attention around you. It makes it fun and makes it exciting for the fans the people around you in the city. So I'm just trying to enjoy day by day and it's been pretty special when you were a kid. Did you always want to be a goalie or your Ford at one point I started off as a forward? But my dad told me a story the other day about how I became a goalie golden, I guess I wanted to do it. He wasn't so. Sure. And he just I guess, caved and allowed me to be a goalie. So it means the weren't scoring very many goals. Yeah. I guess so. Jordan. Thank you for doing this really appreciate it. Good luck in rate here in San Jose series. All knotted up should be good when Darren Pang with Jordan Billington. He and the Blue's looking to go to seven two on the road in these playoffs a win today, and they are one win from their first final since one thousand nine hundred seventy when they faced the Boston Bruins after one period in San Jose. The blues lead, the sharks, one to nothing sports and Westwood One. This is the National Hockey League. Together,.
