"Com. Solid day at Ursula. Solidad. Hi, Larry. Thank you for having me. My pleasure, you've written, quote, in Virginia, Republican Glenn, young and defeated. Clinton needs to Democrat Terry mcauliffe governor, young and ran on school choice and issue dear to Latinos who understand that education is a key to prosperity in the middle class. Survey by AP, vote cast showed that black voters supported mcauliffe by nearly 8 to one. Latino voters on the other hand appear to a favorite young kid who received 55% of the Hispanic vote compared to only 43% supporting mcauliffe. If Latinos had voted in the same pattern as other minority voters, it would have guaranteed a Democrat victory if they did not, which does not portend well for the future of the Democratic Party since president Joe Biden won Virginia by ten percentage points a year earlier. What's going on in solidarity? Well, really Democrats have taken Latinos for granted. This whole time. They've really ignored our needs. And our needs really are education. That's what lifts us out of poverty. The reason why, you know, with teens or years, America is the land of opportunity. Look at my family, you know, my paternal grandmother, she only went to school until third grade. That's what she needed to work in the fields. But two short generations later I have a master's degree. So when you look at Latinos, just intergenerationally, we see a lot of second and third Mexican American Latino citizens that are now the middle class. So education is really the pathway to the middle class. Ursula, as you know, Donald Trump increased his percentage of Hispanic vote from 2016 to 2020, even though he allegedly made the racist comment that Mexicans are rapists close what which course he never said. How do you explain Donald Trump's appeal? How did he increase his Hispanic vote from 2016 to 2020? By the way, he also increased the black vote by about 50% of those four years as well. Well, I think he was really the first one who really went to the woo them. He was very present in the southwest. And, you know, Democrats sort of just see us. You know, I like to say that we are Latinos are the cinderellas of the Democratic Party because we do all the work we're treated as the help and no one really listens to us. But so what Trump did was he went there and he listened to them. They were serious about education and also public safety. It's a real mistake to think that all Latinos are for open borders. They're not. And we've just seen that, you know, in South Texas, where the Obama Biden administration, their handling of the southern border has just been disastrous. And that's not doing well for Latinos. We want secure borders. We want Law & Order. Republicans are also pro choice, Donald Trump was avidly pro choice. Your mom, Gloria Romero, former state senator in fact, Senate majority leader here in California, cross party lines and supported me during the campaign because of the issue school choice. And you will find that, you know, Latinos, there's no real allegiance to one party. We will vote in our economic interests. And in this case, Republicans are offering public safety and public education. So, you know, it's really we're going to vote in our interest. What affects us. And so if Democrats want to keep offering failing education and open borders, they're going to see a mass migration of the Latinos. My guest is solidar at Ursula, solidarity, you also write about South Texas, the 118th Texas House district talk to us about that. What happened? That's a 73% Hispanic city district includes San Antonio. 73% Hispanic, yet a Republican did an upset win against a Democrat by about 300 votes. What happened? So these border towns, you know, they're really there on the front line, watching a lot of failed immigration policy. They're seeing cartel runners are seeing him in trafficking. There's some really egregious things happening on the southern border. And, you know, the current administration just doesn't want to see or talk about it. And so Latinos see that they're directly affected by the crime that's going on. And so we want some Law & Order. So again, Democrats just go down the road of thinking that Latinos are for open border. And it's not true at all. You took a swipe at mister beto o'rourke. And said that the left effort to assimilate into Latino culture by taking a Spanish nickname isn't cute. Are a lot of Hispanics recoiling because beto o'rourke has call himself beto, Robert beto o'rourke. Well, you know his name is Robert Francis o'rourke, but of course he decides to call himself beto. You know, we see through that. We see it as phony. My father can lost. He's had to change his name on his, you know, documents to Tommy. My maternal grandmother solid vibe. She changed her name with Sally. So we've always had to change our names..

"Collins, by the way he served from 2013 to 2021. And before that, he served in the Georgia state legislature, served as a U.S. Air Force reserve chaplain, which by the way included a deployment to Iraq, 2008 2009 at the lieutenant colonel, Colin remained active in the air force in addition he served as pastor of Chicopee, baptist church and Gainesville, Georgia, also graduated from university of north Georgia, and Atlanta, John Marshall law school, and New Orleans baptist theological seminary. Doug, what do we do about this tying everything to Donald Trump? I noticed that in Virginia, the using the same playbook that works so successfully here in California, they made this a referendum on Donald Trump, not on not on the record, and even the campaign manager of Gavin Newsom the governor of California bragged that he turned this into a referendum on Donald Trump. Yes, I think the issue we're going to have to do is I think it's just not embrace it in the same sort of accepting what they're saying. We're going to have to embrace it from taking the good in contrast again. One of the things that I've been talking about is, 'cause, you know, one of the things we in Congress did I work with president former president Trump was the first half at criminal justice reform. And actually building stuff and saying, okay, look, do you want to tell me a small president? Here's what I hear from it. Here's the economy. Here's what we did on criminal justice. Here's how we helped communities of Nate. Here's how we are education. Let me explain to you, you are telling me that I'll stand all the way in time to those policies that actually help people. What we can't do is be afraid of it. And I think that's what's going to come. It's going to take some time, but I think as we do that, but you're exactly right. They were tied to this narrative with the media perpetuates every day of the four president and all of this quote bad. And the reality is it's the perception that they're building. So I think in some ways, we've got to own the good and talk about the good and what conservative values matter and take it head on if we take it from a perspective of being timid by it. And I think that's when that's when they can use it to win against. There's only no. But in this fight for as you said for your show, for the country, it's worth the 5. You know, Doug also, Donald Trump was a big champion of school choice. One of the major politicians here in California who crossed party lines to endorse me is a woman named Gloria Romero, she's a former state senator, not just state senator out here. She was the Senate majority leader. She didn't renown to her party. She's still a Democrat, but she crossed over because of the issue of school choice, 80% of the kids here in California, who are educated in government schools or black and brown in their scores are near the bottom 75% of all black boys Doug can't even read at state level to proficiency. And those levels are already low. And so I try to talk about the fact that Donald Trump was a strong proponent of school choice. My opponent Gavin Newsom, adamant opponent of it because, of course, the teachers union are his largest funder. And they hate hate, hate school choice. I have a question for you. I have a question for your audience. And this is what we're going to be talking about. You're doing it. When did conservatives give away the fact that we are the only bunch that believes in people? We're the only one that believes the our founders when they said, it is the pursuit of happening. A conservative looks in the eyes of no matter what color skin or where their background is and looks them in additives. I believe in you. It is not the government that does it for you. We are the government that gives you the tools to take what God is interested with you and move forward. I want to see your Conservative Party that is back to talking about policies and people and applying them instead of us talking about these hirings and here's the percentage of this. We're conservatives. We're the ones who care about people. You're working on that. We've got to keep that message up. Liberals can't stand that because they want to patronize people and say, government will do it for you when we can go to somebody and say, I want to give you a handout for you to do it yourself. And the pride that comes with doing it yourself, that's what conservatives offer in school choice and being a part of people who are then giving that opportunity is what will win this over. My guest is Doug Collins, his new book is coming out in November is called the clock on the calendar front row look at the Democrats obsession with Donald Trump. Another issue that came out out here in California, but is also a nationwide Doug, is the issue of crime. Crime, violent crime up 40% in LA and I'm talking about shootings homicides and they disproportionately hurt black and brown people in Asian Americans only mentioned the race because these are the people that people like Gavin Newsom prides themselves on caring about. My father's fake trooper. And the issue is my dad would always tell me it doesn't matter who the crime you got to arrest those in prosecute those. And you got to be willing to protect those in a protecting. My question is in these cities such as you just mentioned, and it's across the country. Is there Chicago? New York is Atlanta. I mean, Atlanta homicides were up. I think 60%. And why is it that that not is not a major story in every media outlet, no matter what buys you absolutely after the congressman comes we're going to take a break Ruth quickly. Don't go away. I want to talk to him more about crime. Also, when I play you an excerpt of an interview with Terry mcauliffe on CNN, where he was asked, why is it that you're tying everything to Donald Trump? And I want to play you an ad, where he does just that.

"Yes, I'm going to order my Carl Jackson, Larry elder sticker, please. Yes sir. You can send it to me, whatever. Well, let me know when I can. Anyway, I want you guys to be together because it's funny. It's as funny as rush when you get angry, he's funny. Consumer. You've got a lot of humor. And that's what we love about this guy. And Larry, you too, you're very humorous. So you guys would be a hit together, man. You'd be the biggest show in act in the world. That's getting gone, baby. Let's get it together, man. Triple H 9 7 one SA GE Triple H and one 7 two four three. I am Larry elder. We are relief at dot com studio. Speaking of sense of humor, as I'm campaigning in Venice, area outside of LA there's a big homeless encampment. And some of you might have heard about this. So we're campaigning. I've got my security detail with me. Obviously, for reasons that you'll hear about in just a second, not big enough. And as we are campaigning, I am being the victim of a stream of invective hurled by various people. And then some one, a white woman, wearing a gorilla mask, throws an egg at me. Bad aim didn't hit me. And many in the media either ignored it, downplayed it, some even thought it was funny. Person campaigning for the leader of the 5th largest economy in the world. Is subjective to profane invective, and some one throws an egg at him. And the media downplays their laughs at it. Imagine if, oh, I don't know. Senator Barack Obama campaigned for the presidency, had had the same thing happened to him. Kamala Harris campaigning for AG or campaigning for senator in California. They would have called the act a hate crime. There would have been a manhunt for this person. By the way, to my knowledge, she is still not been apprehended. Even the sheriff of LA county said this should be investigated as a hate crime. Now, several in the media, I mentioned started out by saying, speaking of sense of humor, I'm coming to that. Several in the media said, this was a white woman wearing a gorilla mask, a white woman wearing a gorilla mask, a white woman wearing a gorilla mask. And I said, how do you know was a mask? Maybe she was just having a bad hair day. Oh, elder, it's sexist. And by the way, LA times article about this attack headlines that something to the effect of elder involved in altercation in Venice. And there was a picture of me hugging a campaign supporter happen to be the daughter of Gloria Romero, Gloria Romero is a Democrat, who cross party lines to support me. And by the way, Gloria Romero was not just a Democrat, she is formerly a member of the California state Senate, formerly the majority leader of the California state Senate, and she crossed party lines to support me because of the issue of school choice. It was her daughter I was hugging, but the way the LA times had the photo, it looked as if I was slapping her. By the way she contact of the LA times the daughter did, complain the other times removed the picture, but did not change the headline. Elder involved in altercation in Venice, and then this picture of me appearing to slap a female. So if you just read the headline and just saw the picture and most people just look at headlines and look at pictures. If you just read the headline and just saw the picture, you would have assumed that the altercation was elder, slapping a female. This is a kind of bias to which I was subjected the entire of my 8 weeks. I even had an interview two interviews with the LA times, and in one of them I registered my unhappiness with the way one writer in the other times characterized me as wait for it, the black face of white supremacy quote. I'll get to that in just a second. Now for years, I've been telling you about relief factor regularly took it. During the campaign, I was doing a lot of standing a lot a.

"B CS Live with local coverage of the recall of Gavin Newsom. It's John Phillips here until nine o'clock in the evening. Joined in the studio by Mr Randy Wang, who's not really at the sports desk tonight. I would say you're at the Results Desk. How's that? Well, CNN is reporting with 6% of precincts in as the polls just closed five minutes ago That should gather news and be recalled. No, Is that 60.6% yeses that 39.4% But again, That's 6% of precincts. It's just started. They're not calling it yet, but they say Newsom's gotta very early lead. We're also joined by Frank, Mo Tech who you listen to each night, right here on 7 90 K. ABC for your Business News, The Voice of business of Southern California. Frank, How are you, sir? Wonderful, John. I will recall this evening fondly as a guest on your program here tonight on this big night here on 7 90 KBC as we get the results of just rolling in Now, here's what I want to know. Now, Frank, you have a picture on the KBC website. Randy, you have a picture on the KBC website. I have a picture on the KBC website. How do we get a picture on the website? That's as old as the picture that CNN's using a Gavin Newsom tonight file photo They have for Newsom. It looks old enough to be from the photo shoot, where he was splayed out on the bear skin rug with Kimberly Guilfoyle. Now. I don't want to say the man looks too young in that photo. But let me just say that John Weaver and Michael Jackson would fight over him going through. I don't look at pictures of Gavin Newsom. Oh, so the state of California is notoriously slow at counting ballots, even though many of them have been in the possession of the county registrars and voters. For some time because this was mostly in all vote by mail election. Randy People are still at the precincts if they want to vote in person there in line, and if you're in line, you can still cast a ballot. Correct. That's right. Apparently, there's a lot of people in Orange County who just realized two hours ago, there's an election so they're standing in line at voting centers in places like Costa Mesa in Huntington Beach. And as long as you got in line by eight oclock, they will stay open. They will get your vote. They will count your vote. But You know those ballots went out six weeks ago, people Now, I don't want to say anything about question number two because we don't have any results on who's leading in that race yet, But Randy, do we know if Caitlyn Jenner is talking to Realtors in Sacramento? I think Caitlyn Jenner is trying to see if she could be on the next season of Big Brother Australia. Well, that may require more than a two week quarantine. All right. We've got a lot going on. If you want to weigh in 802 to 2 K abc 1 802 2 to 5 to two to let's begin by welcoming to the conversation. The former majority leader in the California Senate. Gloria Romero, Senator Romero. Welcome to the program. Thank you. And if you're waiting to vote, please stay in line. Your vote will count. Now I would imagine you have been in this position many times over on election night looking at the California secretary of state's website, click and refresh on your computer waiting for those results to come in, we wanna minutes fast as possible, but that's not always the case. Absolutely and again to It's one where you know in the you don't really know where from which Which counties which precinct the numbers of rolling in. So it can be a bit of a roller coasters throughout the Ning. Well, it looks like some new information just came in. In terms of the results for more. Here's Randi Wang, We'll look at this speaking what you're just saying Gloria, The first county that is reporting is Napa County. Yonville is in Napa County. And so is the French laundry yet and Napa County 72%. No on the recall. That means that Gavin Newsom must be a good tipper. Yeah, it's also I think it's reflective campaign to Gavin Nukes and campaign spent about 70 million to fight, the recalls. So he did 72% from the French laundry that probably matches it. Dollar for dollar. And that, of course, is also a county where one of his businesses is in and that county was allowed to stay open when counties like Los Angeles and Orange and Riverside and San Bernardino were shut down, even shut down Santa Barbara Wine country, but Napa got to stay open. Absolutely. That's where I think this is really what frustrated voters in California to begin with, and that was the whole depiction of rules for thee, but not for me. Gavin Newsom was exempt from everything ordinary people were declared to be non essential. Businesses were shut down. We were told to wear masks, etcetera. People really began to see that double standards, which I believe really prompted the revolt that took off in California. Whatever the results, Maybe tonight that revolt is very strong, and I don't think it's going to be going away anytime soon. If you're Gavin Newsom and you hang on tonight. Is it bittersweet? Or is it celebratory? What's the mood? I don't Well, the public face will be celibate. Oy, the public states will be only beat the quote unquote, the right wing, you know, Republican recall, etcetera, etcetera. Privately I have no doubt party of official donors. Even the voters are saying we don't like you, Gavin Newsom. And so it really should be one. I would say he's got to be feeling shamed because this is somebody who's been a career politician. His pathway to what he believed to have been the presidency has really been smashed. To get a recall. And you have even in the bluest states, California over two million people signed the petition recall to force into a ballot and then to have to spend $70 million plus call out basically used all his political chips to call out even if the big guy the senile guy that comes lobbied for him in California. It's got to be really humiliating. I don't think he will project that tonight. But privately, I guarantee you that is the political analysis that he's looking at. Let's go back in time to 2000 and two because 2000 and two reminds me a whole lot of what's going on now, more than the recall in 2000 and three In 2000 and two You had an incumbent Democratic governor in Gray Davis, who was Hugely unpopular because of the electricity crisis and other problems facing the state..

"I mentioned half of all third graders in our public schools cannot read at state levels of proficiency. That's why Gloria Romero, the former state senators didn't majority leader, cross party lines. She didn't renounce her party, but she crossed party lines and supporting my candidacy because I support school choice. I want the money to follow the child rather than the other way around. These guys don't care. I have a lot of wealthy friends who live in l A. I live in L a proper And I asked my friends Do you have any of your kids in public school and here in Los Angeles Beyond beyond elementary school, Not a single one had their kids in the middle school or high school that was public because it doesn't affect the ruling class. It doesn't affect these people whatsoever. They're not the ones who have to trade a gallon of gas for a gallon of milk. They're not the ones who have to pay the price of living for middle class house, which is now hit $800,000. How did and 50% more than the national average is not the ones who have to bear the brunt of homelessness because they're not losing in areas where they're seeing this kind of crap. But if you live in the city and you see the rise in homelessness, you're feeling it. And for the last two years, I can't think of anything This man has done proper not on schools, not on climbed not on homelessness, not on not on forced management. Not on water management, Not on energy. Nothing, absolutely nothing, Which is why people are leaving California for the first time and quickly. John. Why all these outsiders whether it's Barack Obama, who cut a commercial forum Senator Ward commercial forward Bernie Sanders. They've never uttered the following words, Gavin Newsom has done a good job for the people of California detectives as a Republican takeover, which is insulting when the majority of Hispanics Now, one him out, even though the majority that voted for him just two years ago, majority of independents won't amount even though the majority of independents voted for him two years ago. It's insulting to all the people that signed this petition and all the people who want him recalled to call this a Republican takeover, but that's all they've got, because they can't defend the record because it's indefensible. Last question before you go. If the recall is successful, and you were elected governor, there are still more recalls that are working their way through the state of California, including the George Soros installed district attorney in San Francisco and chasing Boutin and the George Soros installed district attorney in Los Angeles County in George Gascon. The governor has a bully pulpit. The governor has the ability to draw attention to subjects that they care about. If elected governor. Would you get involved in those recalls and try to boot them out of office and replace them with people who are interested in public safety? Let me think about it. I thought about it. Oh, yes, absolutely soft on crime Da's. They believe in cashless bail. We have a governor by the way, who released early during the pandemic. Plenty. 1000 convicted felons based on history, The majority of them are likely to re offend. That is why Barbara Boxer just got mugged a few days ago. Her cell phone was taken in a few days before that the open police chief complaint about money being diverted from his police department because of this bogus defund the police movement. Absolutely. I'm going to use my bully pulpit to get these two, da's recalled. Larry Elder candidate for governor. If you haven't voted, the polls are open until eight o'clock today..

"Larry Elder is if you were a radical left wing Democrat, and if you were running against a white governor who has Republican who had this record, you would be supported by all the newspapers in California. You'll be supported by the national media. Uh, you you would, you would be celebrated. And yet the opposite has happened here now. According to a piece in the L A Times a column by Erica D. Smith in the course the L a times to decide what's going to be running their newspaper. Larry Elder is the black face of white supremacy. You've been worn white supremacy. There's not amazing. You have These white Hollywood multimillionaire actors, White big tech types. You've got white George Soros. You've got white. Bernie Sanders White Elizabeth. Warren, You've got white Newsome. Yet you're the white supremacist. Is that the reason they call you this? They don't really want to confront you on the issues. You're brilliant man. They don't like the fact that you have an African American here who actually believes in liberty and capitalism and school choice and all the things all these Wife elitist around, call them white supremacists in the Democrat Party, using their own language opposed. Isn't that what's going on here? That's exactly what's going on here. They've called me the black face of white supremacy because they cannot defend this man's record. Mark, the former Senate majority leader, Democrat named Gloria Romero, She's still a Democrat. Has crossed party lines and now supports me, primarily because of the issue of school choice, which I support. Black and brown parents, according to the polls want school choice Yet they vote for Democrat after Democrat after Democrat when the largest impediment to school choice is the California Teachers Union, the most powerful union in the state, the largest funder of my opponent, Gavin Newsom. And they're scared to death. God forbid, this kid from the hood, who went to public school breaks this Jedi mind trick stranglehold that the Democrats have had over black and brown voters. That's why they're so deathly afraid. And that's why Bernie Sanders a kind of commercial for him and Obama cut a commercial forum and Senator Warren did and nobody uttered the following words Mark Gavin Newsom has done a good job for the people of California. They called it a Republican takeover because they cannot defend the man's record. Mhm, California is an opportunity to save itself. These opportunities don't present themselves often In many states, they don't present themselves at all. Part of the problem is, of course in California they've bought off. A significant percentage of the population. The teachers, unions and other public sector unions. Get whatever they want out of Gavin Newsom. It's no big deal to Gavin Newsom to spend your hard earned tax money. To give it to somebody else. That's what he does. The environmental Marxists. Of enormous power in California. That's why the price of your homes in California have gone through the roof and why a young couple can barely afford to even live there. The reason why the water is because they won't take the resources that they do have to invest in improving the water systems there and making it more available rather than pouring it in the Pacific Ocean Ocean. Said. They spend it on extravagances like failed. Subway system. The reason you have these horrific wildfires. Is again because of the failure of the state government to control your forests. They'll call it climate change because they blame other people for their own failures. And I could go on and on and on California, starting to depopulate. That is the productive people in California, starting to leave. While the state is overrun with aliens. Look at your major cities in California. Los Angeles is ungovernable now. San Francisco was the most beautiful city I thought in the country. Now. Most people don't even want to live there, let alone go there. And they're not the only ones. Mostly the other major cities are facing the same thing. The way the virus was handled. To let them eat Cake administration. While Newsom and his family were living one way everybody else was expected to live another way. If you wanted to go to a Store that sells booze, It would be open. If you want to go to church, it would be closed. If you wanted to write the streets and burn things down attack cops you were treated one way very liberally. On the other hand, if you were religious, and you wanted to go to church or synagogue You were treated another way with the iron fist. California is a state not in decline. It's already declined. It's in a state of extremists. It's schools don't work, law enforcement is undermined. The cities are filthy. Newsom. Like Jerry Brown and his second go around. Inherited beautiful state doing beautiful things. If state they gave us, Reagan and Duke, Major and Wilson Three tremendous governance. Everybody used to say Go to California go to California. When I was a kid growing up in Philadelphia, that's what they would say. That's the land of opportunity. Not anymore. The question is whether or not there enough people in California To take matters into their own hands and control the outcome of the state or whether They've just bought off too many people. Californians have an opportunity, but I would encourage you to do if you live in California for haven't voted obviously vote. But the responsible for five or 10 other people You've heard me say this before. It's up to you. It's not up to anybody else. It's going to be up to you. And we'll see what happens. And I want to salute Larry Elder. He's a gutsy man. He didn't have to put up with this stuff. Is enormously successful career But he said, if I don't step up and fight this who the hell is going to do it? If I don't step up and take this on who's going to do, And here you have A black man who grew up in Los Angeles to went to public schools. Succeeded, became a lawyer's successful radars. And we told this is what we expect. Running against A golden shoe in his mouth. Liberal White Democrats. I had to fight for nothing. Nothing. Supported by Many of the same people had to fight for nothing. They don't believe in diversity of thought or diversity of color. Larry Elder is the guy vote this bastard out? This news to me is a disaster. I'll be right back month lovin More Talk more perspective for.

Especially larry elder was that i was tired of the rules for the but not for me attitude of the prince of the french laundry who shut down our public schools but then he sent his kids to school. That's former california state. Senator gloria romero luis sanchez Can i just ask you what you What the impact of newsome's decisions for californians. And then his private personal behavior as gloria romero pointed out there where she called him. The prince of the french laundry referring to a newsome's decision to appear to go to a party at the famed california restaurant not wear a mask as he had shut the state down essentially how how has that reverberated amongst the voters. You're reaching out to. Yeah i mean. I think dr mentioned this earlier you know he. He's not a you know. He has his own contradictions right. But i think for most latino voters you know. They're not trying to make this about if they like gavin or not. It's really about what's at stake in this election right and there's really two different california's for me one is are we going to support undocumented americans for example as much as i wanted them to do more for undocumented. Let's he's actually. you know. Part of the reason. The recall started gaining momentum. It was not only the mask mandy. It was also the money that was given to support in the stimulus efforts because undocumented americans in california did not a benefit for stimulus here in california even though they make up the grand majority of the farm workers the essential workers that are kind of saving our lives in this moment and so. I really believe that. There's two california's that are steak. And you know. I think for latino voters you know you know. They're disappointed by many politicians. Right and kevin you some. Sometimes it's only a part of it that live in these contradictions but they also understand that you know what's at stake in this moment is they're not gonna take twenty years backwards in a state that wants was sent a phobic trying to drive them out of their state with the passage of prop seven. They don't want to go back to just a year ago. played a critical role in dumping president trump out of office. So so i think part of that is you could make this personality conversation. About who gavin you. Some is and how he lives his life or could really talk about. The alternative is terrible. It's elder and we already know history. You know around women around Latino immigrants right and that's not going to change and you know as much as we're not always happy with gavin newsom. The alternative is non-negotiable. Well this but let me just push you on this. A little bit lewis. yeah because I mean in in the in the reading that we've been doing to prepare for this hour i have i have seen Quotes from for example. Latino small business owners right who who did look at a how hard they were getting hit by kovin them. Their family members their children's communities be they were then they saw newsom take the steps to shut the state down. Which that in and of itself was laudable. Not not a problem. But but then how he goes. You know to mindy romero's point and say talking about the french laundry that sort of lack of connection there. That difference in behavior did does matter to them. Because i think it has something to do with again. How much is california's. Current democratic governor show showing not just through actions but through how. He's reaching out to people that he's actually caring about them on their sides. You recognize their their challenges. I mean we have a lot of politicians have faults in the and there's a long history in california of many disappointing politicians from los angeles mayor. All the way up to the governor's office that have done many mistakes in their lives right and i'm not here to protect his decisions..

"You want to be a part of the program 26 days Americans held hostage there behind enemy lines. But in just let's see five days from now. The race to recall Gavin Newsom. Now, of course, has been early voting that's been going on for weeks, and millions and millions of ballots have been sent out. You got Kamala Harris. We won't let what's happening in Texas and Georgia happening. California. Here's what she said. Think if they can win in California. They can do this anywhere. But we will so that you're not going to get this done. Not here. Never. She is a horrible candidate, by the way. So I'm watching. We actually aired this on Hannity last night on on television, and it's enough to make anybody stomach turn. Gavin Newsom refused to condemn the racist Democrat who assaulted Larry Elder. Yeah, literally the L a times using language. I don't even want to repeat race language about Larry Elder and I'll give him a chance to respond in a second. But listen to this one, in particular anti Larry elder protesters shouting that all these attacks against him. Get that Sorry Piece, darling. I don't understand that. Here's a man that don't even like his old people and running for governor for what he has one year to do. If he even wins, he can't do He wouldn't have ever get nothing done. So why is he running? Democrats control everything he couldn't get? Nothing done. Larry Elder now joins us, But just what? Five days to go. It's next Tuesday the election of 14th in California. The recall question one. Do you want to recall Gavin Newsom? Question too? Well, who do you want to want to replace him and Larry Elder is winning by double digits. He joins us Now. How are you, sir? Well, Sean, I'm feeling the love. How are you doing? Thanks for having me on. It's great to have you back. Um, I've been watching. I watched yesterday in particular. You know, liberals have horrible, lame by the way. I've seen this before. And Coulter once used that line when a guy tried to throw a pie at her and missed, Um, but it's dangerous out there. But this would be the biggest headline. In every newspaper about how angry the left is, If, in fact it happened to be, you know, a Democrat? Well, of course it would. And you know, you know this double standard. You know, I've been talking about it for decades. If I were a liberal and somebody wearing a gorilla mask, white woman threw an egg at me. They'd be yelling and screaming about systemic racism, foundational racism, endemic racism, overt racism, yada, blah, etcetera. But when it happens to a black Republican, nobody cares and again, China will play the race card and then asked people to vote for me because I'm black or give me because I'm black. We just talking about the double standard here. The other day, there was a front page article about Me and New York Times was negative and never once mentioned that I'm black never Once mentioned I'd be the first black governor of California again. I'm not making any kind of big deal out about that. But on the very same page right across the right across the page with a big article about quote the first Female governor of New York Close quote. Even though she didn't run and win, she succeeded to it because almost stepped down. They made a big deal out of her being the first female, But I'm not even mentioned. My race isn't even mentioned in New York Times is the kind of double standard that you and I have talked about for a long time. And one more quick points before you jump back in. You mentioned all these outsiders. Trying to federalize this race, whether it's commonly Harris or Bernie Sanders, or, uh or, uh Barack Obama. Nobody has uttered the following words. Sean Gavin Newsom has done a good job for California. Nobody says that because they can on crime. They cannot homelessness They can on the way he shut down the state and the more severe way, then did the other 49 governance. They can on the declining quality of our public education. They can't talk about the fact that for the first part of this year, more businesses have left California that have left all of last year, and the rate at which businesses are leaving California is twice the rate at which they've left for the last three years. They're not saying any of that. They're just saying this is the Republican takeover outside of trying to take over the Republican The California dream, Blah, etcetera because they cannot defend the record. I just want to hear one of them say Gavin Newsom has done a good job. Nobody's coming close to saying that, Sean, You know the L A Times has played the race card against you, and I don't know how deeply you want to get into it. But I've found it enormously offensive. I did a whole segment on and then I had you on to respond to it. It's uh, we we watched this happen with the likes of Clarence Thomas and so many others. If you're African American, you happen to be a conservative your I would say you're more libertarian Conservative than anything else You've always been. You've always had libertarian leanings. Um and and we've had minor disagreements on issues but not major disagreements on issues over the years, but anything I've probably become more libertarian like you. But I mean, to compare you to the to to the White took the clan and the Klansmen and David Duke. I mean, I just like, how far do these people go? Well, it shows you again, Sean. They're out of ammo. The L A Times called a quote. The black face of white supremacy, close call, and when you have to go down that far, you've got nothing else left again. Two million people signed a petition to get rid of this guy and a good third of them were the very people who voted for him just two years earlier. I think the 3% of Hispanics did. Now the majority of Hispanics want him gone. How can it be a Republican takeover? The majority of independence now wants this man gone. That's all they've got. Playing the race card scaring people saying, Don't vote for this guy because he'll do everything up to and including reenacting slavery. I mean, it's idiotic again, they cannot defend this man's record. A third of all small businesses are now gone forever here in California, many of them owned by Black and Brown and Asian American people that the left prices up on caring about. I've noticed that in this race the amount of money that's flowing in from Hollywood And the radical hard new green deal left is enormous. To Gavin Newsom. Gavin Newsom's actions have shown that he's tremendously afraid. Gavin Newsom is in the process of giving if I understand it correctly, at least 60% of the people of California they're getting big checks now. Um, from the state of California. I don't know where I grew up in New York. Larry, if you paid out money to voters before an election like this and use taxpayer dollars to do it, Uh, I think a lot of ethical questions would be raised at the timing of such and that the appropriate time would be after such a recall race, Wouldn't it exactly? Even the previous governor, a Democrat, Jerry Brown, criticized all of the spending. They're scared to death. And regarding Hollywood, you're right. Hollywood is now writing big checks, and it's interesting. Hollywood every year goes to Sacramento to get tax breaks so that they can stop so called runaway production while voting for the party that raises your taxes. This is kind of hypocrisy that's going on in California and people have had it. Independence have added a Democrat competitive and it's Don't get me started on the public school 75% before Covid could not read at state level proficiency, Sean and those levels are low and mass course. Even worse. Half of all third graders cannot read at state levels of proficiency again. Mass scores or even worse. 80% of the kids and our government schools in California, Sean are black and Brown. I only mentioned their race because Of the left, prides itself on caring about them and the one we cannot got to former state senator named Gloria Romero, a Democrat who's now crossed lines used to be the Senate majority leader, and now she's supporting me primarily over the issue of school choice because Hispanic kids are getting ripped off getting the worst teacher the word principles. The worst bureaucrats and the worst outcome and the route to.

"My favorite part. Travis. No one was seriously injured in that incident. Thankfully, my goodness. I mean, that egg didn't hit anybody and it didn't hurt anybody. No one was hurt. And everybody after elder was whisked away. Everyone went back to their homeless encampment at sunset and third there in Venice, where they will sleep on the streets in the rain in the filth. Uh, you know, contracting, you know. All kinds of diseases and using the city streets as the restroom. But thankfully no one was hurt, and that's really really good reporting live from the this third world country called Los Angeles. I'm a useless, ABC seven reporter. Just incredible, Absolutely incredible. CBS in San Francisco, Doug Sovereign. I was up in San Francisco says there's a small band of protesters. This is where Kamala Harris was speaking, Uh, for Gavin Newsom small band of protesters he tweeted across the street. From the Gavin Newsom, Kamala Harris Rally and San Leandro, but they're too far away to hear what they're saying. There's crack reporting for you. I'm here from CBS News. Uh, and there are some protesters, but I don't really know what they're saying so they could be shouting. Hooray! Gavin! Or not. Gloria Romero, who has come out in favour of Larry Elder and has endorsed him. Former Democrat Senate leader She tweeted out. California liberals believe they must vote for the rich White Guide to defeat white supremacy. Carla Marinucci of Politico says about the only big name who hasn't done something yet for Gavin Newsom in the final days is Jerry Brown, just saying. Then later on Doug Sovereign CBS News out of San Francisco. Most of the protesters outside the Kamala Harris and Gavin Newsom rally turned out to be local Afghan American women angry with the Biden Harris administration over the the collapse in Afghanistan. Signs say California deserves much better than Gavin Newsom. There's another one Gloria Romero racism brought to you by the L A at times and Gavin Newsom. Well, they condemned this racism. Probably not because they saw it. Yeah, just overwhelming that no one is taught that they actually had do headlines that say that Larry Elder's campaign was cut short because it was an angry crowd. As if they're angry at him. And his departure was hastened by an egg Ernest event. No mention Can you imagine? If a white woman Wearing a monkey mask. Showed up in San Leandro. And shouted, You know, mean things at Kamala Harris and threw an egg at her. Would that not be the lead story? Would that not lead the news, especially if there's video of it? And like this woman didn't throw the egg and split. She hung around. To engage with Larry Elder security still wearing the mask. Which, by the way, if you're gonna start throwing punches, I mean, it wasn't one of these. Like, you know, Lone Ranger masks. It was one of those full on Travis. You know the mass that go like all like Halloween rubber mask, the ones that go all the way over the head. Yeah. I feel like my kid owns that mask. Yeah, well, if you're going to start throwing punches, you probably want to take that off. But it's very hard to see peripherally. Uh, I mean, this woman looked somewhat chunky. They all do. But I don't know that she was going to be able to take on the security and she's the one that started throwing punches. Where is that? I got to hear that again. I love when they started saying Hit me again. It was a here It is so here she.

There's a reality that the taliban is currently controlling large swath of afghanstan That is a reality on the ground and right now our focus and our priority is getting american citizens evacuated and our afghan partners evacuated. And i would say given the numbers that we've outlined and brief for you That we've had made a great deal of progress in doing exactly that. What a nightmare. This nightmare is getting worse. It's getting worse. We don't negotiate with terrorists. Except when they take over a country then we negotiate with terrorists. That's literally the white house position. We'll negotiate with terrorists when they take over a country because they are li are literally negotiating with the taliban and capitulating to the taliban we're surrendering newt gingrich's right we're surrendering to the taliban. This is america under joe biden in two thousand twenty one. It's so bad for joe biden. He gets his mike cutoff. Apparently when he's asked about americans trapped in afghanistan. It's listen i'm going to say i don't want to jinx. It might be. Why larry elder wins and a couple of weeks in california. Another headpiece comes out in the new york times now. They're just not even hide the vegas they're going at him from all sides and i think it's backfiring when they tried to block him from being on the ballot and he sued anyone it backfired. He catapulted into first place in the polls as the republican challenger to the disgraced gavin newsom as as the girlfriend says l. There's a bombshell from the new york. Times to the new report from the ex girlfriend who she says. She claims he went to the nightstand and look at his gun. When they had an argument she was intimidated by that. And she's she's campaigning for another republican. Now it's revealed that the police report or some report. I don't even know if there was a police report but somebody somewhere somewhere somewhere. Somebody said that. She's claiming he said when they had a fight. I don't want you anymore owes. So they had a break-up that's a disqualifier they're doing everything they can to stop. Larry elder from becoming the next governor of the state of california in many ways the california gubernatorial election is going to be a complete mirror image. I know nancy as you as you mentioned that. The secretary was asked that he didn't go into detail for a reason because we are currently having those discussions through diplomatic channels of but what he assured the public and i can reiterate from here is that we are looking at a range of options for how we can continue to provide. Consular support facilitate departures for those who wished to leave after august. Thirty first and our expectation. The expectation of the international community is that people who want to leave afghanistan after the melted. Terry depart should be able to do so. We're working on that. At least she was former majority leader. Gloria romero is endorsing Larry elder so listen to a. That's a good sign that that is a good sign. There's a lot of momentum larry elder obviously. The democrats are trying to cheat Sean told me earlier sean. How many ballots did she tell me. Twenty twenty two. Oh my goodness twenty. Two million ballots sent out before the august sixteenth. deadline So there's a there's a whole heck of a lot of room For cheating unfortunately. But i was unaware that you guys could show up physically Invoked so if you can do that. I would do that quite frankly. I mean you're talking about liberty and tyranny in my opinion. And i feel like you guys have been under tyranny for so long in california and obviously i'm exaggerating to some degree right but you guys have experienced The the the the absolute corruption And the i don't know. Ju ju just the ineffective policies of the consequences of left wing or of leftism. I should say could just spit it out. So the consequences of leftism california has experienced. So there's plenty of things that you can do. There's plenty of things that elder can do. And we will get into that but this is good news. Listen the polls are looking really bad. Really bad for joe biden oppo conducted by nbc. News in august found that Vitamins approval rating among independence tanked and congressional preference increased in favor. Republicans the poll which took place. This was august fourteen to seventeen in the midst of the catastrophic withdraw. That were still undergoing right now. show biden's approval rating among independents down. Fifteen points his handling of the economy down fifteen points and his handling of the wuhan corona virus down nearly thirty points. See you would think this is you would think he would be up based upon their their mandates but no it's having the opposite effect a four congressional preference among independents swung fifteen points in favor of republicans so it looks like and listen. We're a long ways away. We still have a lot of footwork. We still have a lot of conservative. Cardio that we have to get on a. It's looking like if we get out the vote. If we straighten up our election system to make sure that every one of our states have election integrity. If you will it looks like it. Looks like we could spend some booty and twenty twenty two. And i'm so looking forward to. It's the only time the only time i watch. Cnn just because i want to see their facial reactions in in nbc's meet the press on sunday Moderator tucked chuck. And i want to show you who they are who they are. They're hard core Independence this is less than fifteen percent of our sample Todd stated they're the only people that seem to be moved by events. Finish up with this on the other side. But i think chuck i think chuck. Todd is a little wrong about this. Explain why carl jackson will be back on. The larry elder show and jackson never common. And obviously they're gonna pay attention to this right again. I'll just reiterate that he is lost. He's down fifteen points among independents And that's fifteen points down on his handling of the economy Thirty points down on his handling of the wuhan corona virus and then There's there's a congressional preference among independence that has swung fifteen points in favor of republicans. You have chuck todd yet. Msnbc believe or. Meet the. Press on. Sunday nbc's meet meet the press. Who said and i quote. "Up how you doing. Are things good getting closer to School starting back up again. The dreaded back to school signs are starting to come out. Your walmarts targets randi weingarten or the federation of american teachers. That would be fat. The teachers federation of america. What is it the american teachers federation since. I don't know if we're coming back into fall hard to say maybe maybe not boy It will be the most difficult school year. Probably in the history of public schooling. Even if everybody's back in school actually if they're not back in school it won't be difficult they'll just kick the can down the road. You'll continue to have kids staring at zoom screens and not really learning anything. It's not till everybody gets back in the classroom. The teachers are going to have to deal with the full weight of having such variety of progressions in their classroom kids that are two years behind and kids that are caught up and everything in between and it's even more complicated than that because if you have that sort of mix and good. Teachers will tell you this. Woo hoo i emphasize. How do i spend my time. I mean if i spend my time on the furthest back those who are still caught up relatively caught up. I'm gonna lose them. One of my sons friends His mom is real tiger. Mom sort of person man she is. I wish i was like her. But i just don't have the energy. She's a tiger mom person and she's you know with the tutors in the learning in the online nissen staying on it and stayed on the whole time and she's really worried and appropriately so she's really worried that while she kept her get caught up. The schools are going to cater to all the kids that are behind. Well of course they are sure. Yeah yeah by the way. Speaking of masks and everything like that masks are back on nationwide at home depot. Mcdonald's and target so as a company they decided nationwide. You gotta wear masks. Yeah yeah absolutely how much that's gonna be enforced. I have no idea. Yeah yeah so. I was just reading Some some good stuff. Thomas sowell road about the cruelty of keeping kids trapped in substandard schools. There is a. I'm going to repeat myself now. Extremely long piece in the atlantic about the california dream is dying and one of the main points they make and let me let me read some of it for you and they're talking about wealthy nimbies not in my backyard types and the residential segregation. They push more students into the overcrowded underperforming city schools l. a. finds itself in the strange position of having built one hundred thirty new schools. But not for a single new student because public schools in affluent areas are emptying out while schools in poor areas are running over capacity et cetera. Long story short Expensive suburbs you can't afford it. So the the black brown non-english-speaking kids are all forced into really crappy city schools and they gloria romero a former democratic majority leader in the california state. Senate has a name for the relationship between the dysfunctional housing policy and educational system. It's zipcode education the rich you can go anywhere if you're poor you're stuck in your crappy school a recent education that's going to skip that part outcomes much much worse for kids of color getting much. Worse educations that's not a shock to anybody. Here's the part. I really liked slash hated while in the state. Legislature romero made education a top priority sponsoring numerous reform bills including a so-called parent trigger law. That allowed parents failing public schools to decide how it ought to be destruction restructured at times. She says democratic colleagues lamp faster for putting them in the awkward position of taking a vote in which public opinion was at odds with the california teachers association which she calls the state's fourth branch of government. Wow i believe in unions. She told me but public. Education in california isn't run with the best interests of the children in mind. I noticed. Yeah yeah it starts with adults. Their salaries pensions and perks. And what gets leftovers for kids. She's a pro-choice democrats. She says she's pro choice for public schools pro charter schools pro vouchers pro. Whatever maximizes the options available to families in the states failing system but she is going up the going up against rather the entire government of california and certainly the all powerful teachers unions. Just see understand how it really is. Now if i am correct there is larry elder talk. Show host Running in author. He's running for governor of california he was talking about Related topics school choice clip. Forty please for a young barack obama would living for a while to indonesia with stepfather. Who was an oil company executive and he was attending school. There was set up for the oil company executives. His mother felt that that school was not good enough so she sent him back to hawaii live with his grandparents so he attended the finest prep school in the entire state. If a white after you graduate from nettie comes here to la. He goes to occidental college for two years. He finishes up at columbia ivy league school and then goes on to harvard law. Also an ivy league school Michelle robinson his his wife Was a Went to went to a government school however she didn't go to the closest one in chicago. She got on the bus and went to another one. That was far better When it comes to the girl. Sasha malia they. I attended a private school. That was run by the university of chicago for people who taught there. Obama was an instructor there for a while and then when they moved to washington dc They enrolled the girls into Sidwell friends the same. Prep school that Chelsea clinton went to the cost about forty five thousand dollars a year. My point is the obamas didn't send their girls to public school Michelle really went to what we now would call. A magnet. School and obama never went to public school yet. The democratic party other left the teacher's union out here in california. They're adamantly opposed to school choice. That's going to be one of the big things. I'm going to be running on been in this election. How many of the most powerful people in democratic politics send their kids to public. School wouldn't be very many a tiny minority tiny. Don't don't look at what they say you should do with your kids. Look at what they do with their kids. It's it's shocking. And you know what's really really shocking. Sometimes i'm feeling charitable on. I think people are busy the running their lives. They don't have time to pay attention of politics like we do because it's our living but what's shocking and so disappointing. Me is people voters. Don't recognize plainly happening right in front of their is the hypocrisy and the doing the bidding of the powerful not the downtrodden. Not the black and brown. Are you kidding me. They're doing the opposite of that. Wake up so this is all very serious. I find myself wondering about people who believe their animals. Jack there are some and you need to respect that. "Here's another guy that may run Kevin Daily own. He ran for Senate in 2018 against Dianne Feinstein and actually got the Democrat Party endorsement against Dianne Feinstein, which was a big shock, You know, pretty big deal sitting U. S senator for 30 years. Agent of the Chinese Communist Party, not getting the endorsement of the Democrat Party. We went to Kevin Daily own now he crashed and burned in that election, but he is now A City Council member in Los Angeles, and he's been itching to get back into a larger seat. Those are three names that may emerge as a alternative establishment candidate. Uh, two. Newsome. There's some names that are conservative Democrats who would never be picked by the establishment of the party. Like Gloria Romero. Former state senator who's for school choice, or Mike Gateau, former assembly member who is known as a pretty centrist guy, gateau Romero may decide just Iran. What did they Oh, the Democrat establishment. Absolutely nothing potentially splitting the vote. Then finally don't discount Billionaires Club. Yes, Mr C. Chammah pre atop a diet attire, and that's awfully close. He decided not to run after just a few days of looking at running for governor, I think someone got to him. What You know, he's a couple billionaire. How about a multi multi multi billionaire like Tom Styer? Tops tire. Could literally decide I'm going to run is a replacement candidate, and I'm gonna spend $500 million. I'm going to spend $500 Million to maybe stick it to Newsome and Either replacement candidate in California. So what do you think the point I'm making here Is on first blush. You're going to hear in the news. Everyone's united behind Gavin Newsom. And they're all going to say no on recall, they're gonna suggest that no candidate should run to be the replacement. Yeah, They said that for a few weeks with Gray Davis and you saw how that turned out. Ambition, ego. Personal conflicts. Um, wings of the party. All of that will come to play and there will be a pretty significant field of Democrats. That's my prediction. Coming up recalls, are now starting to be talked about for local elected officials. We're looking at two recalls in San Diego of two really bad local elected officials actually, three Uh, But one recall is already qualified for signature collection coming up who's being recalled, And do you want to join in and gathering the signatures? That's on the two mile report first traffic.

"On the John Phillips Show. Talk radio. 7 90 Kate eight BC Well, the organizers of the recall Gavin Newsom campaign say they now have over a million signatures ready to go. If they gather enough signatures. What the secretary of state requires that would then put a recall election on the ballot. You'd be asked two questions One would be does Or should Ward Newsome be recalled his governor. The second question will be who should replace him. And then there'll be a list of candidates of people who qualify for the ballot. If it's 50%, plus one, saying that Newsome should be recalled, Whoever has the most votes will be California's next governor. Joining us to talk about this is Assemblyman Kevin Kiley, who represents the suburbs of Sacramento. He's also author of the book Recall Newsome, which is available online at Amazon dot com. Assemblyman Kevin Kiley Welcome Thanks so much for shaping the chance to be on So you've been following. This is closely is anyone. Do you think that the recall election is going to qualify for the ballot? I do. I think that it has a very good chance. I've heard estimates over 50% I've heard from one consultant to work from the Great Ages. Recall everything says that 80 to 85% chance of qualifying so certainly cannot let out need to continue to gather signatures of the frenetic pace. That folks have been, But this is truly a you know, a Ah, just inspiring movement of nows of the people who have come together to gather signatures and to put together you know now, a million and counting by this point, so, yeah, Most people think we probably need in the range of two million just to be on the safe side in order to reach the threshold of a million and a half. But certainly the campaign is well on its way. I've talked to some elected Democrats who were in Sacramento during the recall of Gray Davis, including former state Senate Majority Leader Gloria Romero. She believes that this thing has a very good chance at qualifying and if it does, she said that Newsome should certainly take it very seriously because these recall elections kind of Like hurricanes. They produce their own weather system, and sometimes they can spiral out of control and get away from you. What are elected Democrats and Sacramento saying about this now when you talk to him about it? Well, I mean, we just actually came back the Legislature did on Monday, so the Legislature hasn't really been around for 4.5 months now, but we did have this event yesterday, where some of them on the governor's closest allies in the head of the California Democratic Party, called it a coup. I called her and then defending against the California coup, which, of course, this is the exact opposite. It's making use of a channel of political changes in the California Constitution, and now a million Californians in counting are supporting. But I think it's just a sign of just how desperate the governor's getting, and I think that yes, it shows that they're taking it. Very seriously because you know you're right. I like the way that you put it when you have a recall election. It's a pretty queen referendum on the status quo. It's probably the only thing on the ballot. There's really no place to hide. You can't just make it a part of something. You have to defend your record. And I think what we have now is the people of California have seen the historic failures of this governor and I've seen how they've Sort of culminated years of failures in Sacramento, and so are taking matters into their own hands. And, you know, putting forward a fundamental course correction. One of the things that Gary South suggested who was Gray Davis's consultant during that recall election is that Newsome should hire a bunch of op aresu searchers to go after the organizers of the recall. Get really down and dirty in the mud. Has he been doing that? Well, I I imagine he has been. I saw that quote. Give yourself said he should put together a war council on day. I think that you know if yesterday's events is any indication where you have the head of the Democratic Party for the ST Elected state Assembly member, the mayor of San Diego, along with a variety of other elected officials, obviously with the governor's blessed blessing, calling this citizen's movement cou. I mean, it just shows you. You know the lengths that they're going to be willing to go to. And so I'm sure that you know they're gonna be attacking me. They already have been attacking. You didn't attack anyone who's involved on it. This is sort of the response you expect. When a corrupt political class as its power threat. One of the things that I think contributed to Gray Davis being recalled in the early two thousands was that there was a candidate on the ballot that got a lot of people excited. That was Arnold Schwarzenegger before he went south. So far we've seen some politicians say that they're thinking about running John Cox, He ran and lost the last time is one of them. We have the former mayor of San Diego Kevin Faulkner, who is the former mayor of the rather large city in California, but not really an exciting kind of guy that can get people jazzed up about an election. Is this going to be possible without a candidate that jumps in and catches everyone's imagination? Well, I think that you know, at the point at which there is successful recall election works qualified for the ballot and we're over. 50% of voters have said Yes, we want a change. But I think that whoever wins the second part of the ballot is gonna naturally be someone who kind of Taps into that desire for change. And so you know, there's any number of people who I think might run. But now I'm not too worried about the concern that you're raising because I think that you know this is something that is Is fundamentally being driven by the people of California. It's a grassroots movement. It's not going to be animated by, you know, sort of top down type mold where you have, you know, a particular person who gets people excited about it. I think that this is coming from the people of California. They're the ones that are making this happen. They're the ones they're going to make the recall succeed. And then it's going to be up to you know the voters to decide who among the many candidates, so I'm sure will emerge will best be the vehicle to fulfill that desire for fundamental change. In California. There aren't enough competitive seats for Republicans to run for most districts are lopsided. They're they're drawn for one party or the other. Most of them are drawn for Democrats. Statewide races are out of the reach out of reach right now for Republicans, or at least they have been in recent elections. Democrats have the exact opposite problem. Where there are too many of them and too few offices, so they're bumping into one another right and left. If a Democrat wants to win a top of the ticket race in California, they usually have to be a celebrity, whether it's political, celebrity or otherwise, or they have to be very, very, very rich. Middle class Democrats get to a certain point, and then they hit the ceiling and there's nowhere for them to go. They could be a statewide constitutional officeholder. They could be a member of Congress, but they can't really make it to that next level. Right now, All of those Democrats are being told. Don't you dare run in this election if it qualifies for the ballot last time around, All of them took the advice except for Cruz Bustamante, and he lost. I would imagine there's a lot of them right now those middle class Democrats who otherwise would never be able to win election for governor or U..
