"Fox, which tried to block dominion altogether from forcing any of the Murdochs to take the stand in the trial. To the politics of it all down Thursday, morning campaign 2024 on WTO P this hour. Democrat Robert F. Kennedy, junior and anti vaccine activist, and one of the country's most famous political families is where he's from is running for president. We're told this morning. Kennedy filed a statement of candidacy with the FEC federal election commission. Last night, Wednesday evening, the 69 year old's campaign to challenge incumbent president Joe Biden for the democratic nomination is considered a long shot. Self help Arthur, Mary Ann Williamson, is also running in the democratic race you may remember. Kennedy is a nephew of JFK, son of RFK. He was once a bestselling author and environmental lawyer who worked on issues such as clean water, but more than 15 years ago he became fixated on a belief that vaccines are not safe. He emerged as one of the leading voices in the anti vaccine movement and his work has been described by public health experts and even members of his own family as misleading and dangerous. At three 37, now to the latest from the war between Russia and Ukraine, Ukraine's president and Vladimir zelensky went to Poland this week, this was another public show of support by Ukraine or for Ukraine by Poland that would be, but there was much more at stake during this visit as we hear this morning from WTO national security correspondent JJ green. This was a multi purpose visit. Poland's president duda awarded zelensky, the order of the white eagle, the oldest and highest decoration of the republic of Poland, which is given for great civil and military accomplishments. But this was about much more than that. This is a tough time between Poland and Ukraine. Farmers inside Poland are upset with duda because Ukrainian products have driven down the prices they're able to get for theirs. Also, inside Poland, there is an anti Ukraine political movement. There is speculation, this movement is connected to the same pro Russian propaganda that's popped up in almost every European country that's supporting Ukraine in this war. This movement, if it grows, could have a significant impact on the future of the war, and of those countries. Back here in the states, a twister in Missouri kills at least 5. "Dot FanDuel dot com, gambling problem, call one 800 gambler. It's ten O 8 slow or clock trains. Call Michael and son and get $100 off I trained cleaning today. Traffic and weather on the 8s, let's see how we're doing out there with Joe Fox and the traffic center. John good morning, thank you Happy Thanksgiving to you and everyone out there. So first, let's start in Silver Spring, Maryland on Georgia avenue the ramp to the beltway. If you're headed to the interloop of the beltway, that is to go towards 95 in college park that ramp is still shut down. If you're coming out of Silver Spring, you can reverse course on Georgia avenue, you can access the beltway from southbound Georgia avenue. The ramp from the inner loop has reopened no issues there. One of the themes we're going to see today is that folks are not used to some of the traffic patterns. People are driving places that don't usually go in that very tight ramp as a good example of that. Someone took it too fast, rolled over and here's what happened. So be patient with your other drivers around you, they might not be used to the roads that you use to being on. On 95 northbound in Virginia, we're still dealing with the after effects of last night's tanker truck that was overturned, north of the centerport Parkway. So you're going to be slow from 17 falmouth up past the centerport Parkway. That's about a four mile delay as V dot authorities are now working to upright the tanker truck that was in the Woods and left their last night, so the traffic could get through last night, southbound folks are also slowing down to take a look. In between the Stafford exit and the centerport Parkway. If you're going farther south on 95, there is a big crash in Ashland, delays are back to king's dominion if your headed south by northbound if you're streaming is coming out of Richmond, your delays are from two 95. You might want to switch over to route one, which is making a good alternate through doswell Ashland and Glenn Allen as your head at south towards Richmond. Back in Maryland, route 50 is moving well out to the bay bridge, but we do have a crash from route two headed southbound coming from Arnold and towards the naval academy bridge there en route to. He's cautioned follow police direction. Elsewhere on the beltway, we're looking good. BW Parkway two 70 no issues over in Virginia 66 is moving well, did have a report of a crash out of the Markham exit mile post 18, but other than that closer to town you're moving just fine. "And you do grow your own corn, is that right? Yep, so we built the distillery on my business partner's farm. Jim and Jamie Walter and the cow Illinois, and they've been the family has been farming there since the 1930s. Is that make you guys unique? I mean, do most distillers sort of have their own corn that somebody grows former that they grow. If we were having this conversation in 1920, the answer would have been yes. Really? Prohibition essentially stopped farm distilling in its tracks. And really up until the last ten years, it didn't exist. And so the American distilling institute has a certification called certified farm distillery, and we are the second certified farm distillery in the nation. Really? So that's a matter of pride for you that you control it from the seed to the bottle. See the spirit is what we like to say. And there's several reasons why pride is a big point of it. It's a way to diversify the farm and really showcase what we do well. It makes for a fantastic story. It makes for a fantastic visitor experience to be able to come and see and taste and be part of that entire process. And truly affects the quality of the ingredients that we use for distillation. We only use about 10% of what we grow to operate the distillery. So it allows us to be very selective. The phrase cream of the crop is truly applicable to what we use for distillation. What do you distill? Bourbons and whiskys are those the same thing. Yes, no. So all bourbon is whisky, but not all whisky is bourbon. Our primary product is bourbon whisky, which is a type of whisky, specifically that has to be made from at least 51% corn. Hence the reason that start primary product is, we say that we're in the Napa Valley of the corn belt. And that's a good way to put it. We also make a rye whisky that is made from rye that we grow on the farm. And then we make some specialty whiskys that we call our artisan series that are made from sort of exotic or heirloom varieties of corn, like specifically we've got something coming available for sale tomorrow, for the first time called bloody, butcher, bourbon. And it's not by coincidence that we're releasing that at Halloween time. And it's a bourbon made with this heirloom corn variety called bloody butcher with these dark, deep red kernels, and we grew it 6 years ago distilled at 5 years ago and have been waiting patiently to get into a barrel and it will be a fantastic product. So that's released tomorrow. Tomorrow. So what we're released at our visitor center at four 30 tomorrow. It's fairly limited, so if you truly have an interest in getting it from us at the location, you probably want to show up a little bit early. We also have it at a few locations several locations throughout the state. None have very big allocations, but Benny's has got a good allocation of it. Our friends at royal ren in Geneva, the beer seller locations in Geneva and Glenn Allen, liquor and wine, malloys, and several other places. That I suggest you call first. Don't just show me off the air. This is going to sell out. And you're really excited about it. Are you satisfied with it? So that's the intriguing thing to me. Those of you who do what you do be it a wine or a spirit, you have to just kind of wait and hope after 5 years, 6 years since you planted the seeds that this is going to be worth the wait. How do you know that it's going to be so good? We don't do a lot of guessing. So if we rewind 9 or so years ago when we first started, we hired one of the best consultants in the industry by the name of day picarel to help us really utilize the high quality grain that we have on the farm. So from the beginning, we had guidance to make sure we were doing things the right way. We know how to farm. We know how to raise high quality grain. So that's a variable to eliminate. And then we put in some pretty strict standard operating procedures to make sure that day to day mistakes don't happen. And I'd say I put my money on that we have one of the best distillers in the country by the name of rob Wallace. We brought him on the team 6 or 7 years ago. He subsequently enrolled himself at Harriet wat university and got a master's degree in distillation and fermentation sciences. And has really taken our concept of utilizing high quality and unique corn to the n-th degree so much so he wrote a master's thesis on how varieties of corn affect the flavor of whisky. So, you know, to answer your question, we make sure we don't have any surprises in the process. And if we find something that's not driving, we stop as quickly as possible. But it is still a big leap of faith to say, well, let's plant the seed and hope that 6 years from now, we've got a bottle that people are willing to wait in line for. And you've got to float yourself that way too. You know, make the investment and then hope that it pays off down the road, and beg your wife to go to work every day. Trust me, honey, if you just support this idea in 6 years. That's right. I'll have these bottles and it'll be fantastic. And then 6 years. This is a few more years, but I promise we'll get there. Then you know I see your stuff at the liquor store I go to an Ottawa, and I see it at the Benny's in Chicago, and I see a lot of other bottles with Brown in there too. How do you distinguish yourself? How did people know to pick yours instead of makers mark or somebody else? You go on Debbie jenn, talk with king John for a little while, get his blessing. And talk to Lou man for you. There we go. There we go. Well, you know, so we as a team have confidence in our product. We do grassroots events to get people to taste it. We enroll in international tasting competitions to get third party validation. For instance, our several our products, one double gold at the San Francisco world spirits competition, which is the Olympics of whisky, and that's a key piece because we're not, those folks are tasting those blindly. There's no influence on having a buddy or a friend there or doing anything other than just truly getting folks to support that what we made. So it's a full frontal assault on helping people know the brand and putting the bottle. When I go to a restaurant and order Manhattan are an old fashioned, maybe I do maybe I don't see your liquor on the shelf. I'm sure I'm not telling you anything you don't know or don't want, but that to me would be a great breakthrough as well. The single best thing that a customer potential customer can do for us is where they walk into their favorite location, whether it's a bar or restaurant or a retailer, is asked for us by a name. And if we're not on the shelf, if enough folks ask for us by name, the person in charge of making those orders will call or distributor, which by the way is heritage R and D.C., and they'll get it delivered there. 8 one 5 texts in to say, I had my daughter's 30th birthday party at whisky acres it was fantastic. So tell me about the venue that we're going to have our event, not this Saturday, but next Saturday. So we built a visitor center, middle of a farmstead, the edge of a cornfield where we can taste and sample and have a great experience there. On the 5th, when you're

"I'm doctor Anthony Liz, and this is climate connections. Poet Sophia naz's new book open zero is imbued with loss and longing. In 2017, the writer's home and Glenn Allen California burned the ground in a wildfire. It is through writing that one can recreate as if conjuring out of thin air a landscape that no longer exists. On the faithful night Nas was working late when she smelled smoke. She checked her phone for an alert and finding nothing assumed she was safe. But a few hours later a fire truck pulled up and a voice on a megaphone told everyone to evacuate. She woke up her son and the family hurried out the door. We left, and that was the last time I saw my home. In time, her family bought a trailer and moved back to the charred property, and grief began working its way into her poetry, like in this stanza from aftermath. Shining would at once stood, were used and, on scarred earth, scabbed, indescribed, as if, after many blows, a giant had fallen, and through his Moors, you saw the valley yawn wide, felt something give as the waters rushed in. "To find a good deal these days just go to Jerry haggerty Chevy dot com and scroll through pages and pages and pages of pre owned cars and trucks and SUVs These are vehicles that are thoroughly inspected that you can trust that look feels drive even smell like new 33 years Jerry's been doing it hassle free Blaster like my treatment from these people We've had a lot of laughs We've had good times I had a question the other day called up my cagr Had a nice visit You're going to like the way they treat you too And they're going to find you the vehicle you want There are 300 Roosevelt road in Glenn Allen Tell him John Williams sent you Chevrolet Find new roads It's ten 21 on WGN All our lines are ring as frequently happens when you're in the studio ray caplan of caplan law firm financial relief dot com is her website if you want to find out more but anything else you want to say before we pick up some phone lines No but I think that one little thing would be that there are going to be big changes in the student loan world coming up in the next couple of years So just to keep your eyes open for changes that might benefit you Because you think that the program has been too generous Well I think that right now the push is to give more people access to relief of their loans but I think what's going to happen after that is that it's going to end up costing the government a lot of money and then there's going to be a swing in the opposite direction to give less people relief So if you're taking out loans now you'll be fine because it's going to be part of your promissory note your contract that you're going to be eligible for these programs But I'm thinking maybe for talking looking through a crystal ball probably in 2007 2008 maybe a little bit later than that they're going to start making some changes to make it a little bit harder to access this type of relief Yeah well at least we're not talking anymore about total forgiveness or $50,000 forgiveness or not really That does seem to have gone away Boy I thought we were going in that direction Everybody was leaning that way and now it seems to have dissipated too Trish you're on GM with ray caplan Trish what can we do for you You're on the air Oh hi Yeah my grandson is the senior now And we're wondering how we're going to finance his college or help them finance it So is it I've heard Yes they should get a student loan when I heard no it's not good for the student to get the loan So the deal So he's a senior in high school right What do you say So what you want to do and we do a lot of this pre debt planning with parents students grandparents in many cases is that you want to take out or you want your grandson to take out federal student loans as much as he can qualify for the way you do that is he's going to fill out the fafsa the free application for student aid and he has to disclose his parents income Whoever his guardian is their income and their assets and then the department of bed in the school make a determination of how much he qualifies for in his own student loans and then if you need more to cover the cost of.

Meghan that you've seen out there. Yeah that's that's part of the reason why i write. So many people don't know how to clearly communicate the value of what they do. So here's a great one this training and this is whether it's paid or free or even with a product but let's let's just take an info practice an example because it's so popular right now This training has a three hundred twenty eight page workbook and nine hours of content. Okay that's overwhelming number. One and number two people aren't going to buy based on those kinds of quantifies..

"Is free but valuable but with the intent of taking somewhere else correct. Yeah and that doesn't have to be immediate. One of my big goals for this year is actually to to add or sorry for this. Quarter is to add an additional three thousand subscribers to my list. And there's no up sale. It's just. I want you to come into my world. I want you to learn about who i am and how i serve you and i want you to get value from ronnie provide. Keep coming along for the ride and get to know me and trust me so that when i'm ready to launch some of my other products down the road. You're you're ready. You're wanting to take that step with me. You don't have to have an immediate by to do this. Is you end up in the same place a lot of people and when they come see me they have a great product or service. They have nobody to sell to. That said. there's some really easy things you can offer at the moment of a freebie lead magnet. You know you can have a quick offer bumper up sell on a confirmation page that comes in after they opt in and says hey for the next so many minutes for seventeen. Twenty seven forty seven dollars. Get my such and such bundler. Some easy quick win simple sal. I think that like that. So i have. I still have so many questions about. We're up against the right there. But i just wanted to make sure that people know the importance of of this lead magnet because i think that importance of building building audience. Because you can have agree product but not have anyone to sell to and didn't happen to think like twenty the buy ads. Don't need to you know aligned muscle somebody else in o question but but tom in your own words like tell them how important is is is far as your experience in the people that declines that you work with how important is lead magnet is to get it to get right. It is critical to get your lead magnet right. Because it is the entry point for people to get in your world you make sure it's absolutely aligned with what you're about and the way in which you help people and it establishes who you are your your expertise your knowledge now because it's critical to get right doesn't mean that has to be something that's really hard. You should absolutely anguish over. And so and that's part of the reason why. I created the training on this that i did. I have a very specific criteria of how you figure out what topic bet is. And how do you make sure it's all aligned and then how do you outlined it so people get it in a way that it's really bite sized so that actually take action and not just let it fill up their inbox because there's something about having like these bite size pieces of of training you can take like one tiny quinn.

"A lot of times. We have this expert mind in. We think we know exactly what they want. But it's really importance. You listen to your audience. Listen to what what content. You're putting out there that they're responding to and what problems are have having i mean the golden lead magnet thing came from a reoccurring problem. I was facing with people who wanted to hire me to launch to help them launch their course You know they had a great course and we could market the heck out of it but who are we going to market it too. So i i realize okay. This is something that a lot of people knew. And then i tested it with some facebook forums just putting it out there as a test offer and people basically throughout entire weekend kept messaging me over and over and over and my i was from just that initial test so nats and the only thing is you. Can you can do ms moore Can't talk how you could do marketing research calls. I'm a big fan of those. A lot of people are very very generous or gracious to get on a college. You if you say. Hey i just i just like ten minutes of your time. She's have a couple of questions about this topic. And i would love to hear your feedback for either program or something on building or concept creating and this is not a sales pitch so you so people aren't usually disarmed by that kind of approach. I like. I'm glad you put out that script there because if you didn't will give you another question like how do you do that so i'm glad you did that right. So can we go. Can you go into any detail about how to create this lead magnet but to the you need 'cause i 'cause i've seen yours is very professional but what does someone doesn't have all those proteins. They don't they. Don't have all these you know im- it looks the looks. Feel what.

"And he teaches us thing called. The founding members script in his free material dropped over the course of several days. You're not just seeing him once. You're seeing him day after day for a short window of time before he announced the sale of anything and he basically says okay. If you've been thinking about creating a membership and you're worried okay are people are gonna want this. You can validate the idea by offering people to get it on the ground. Floor get grandfathered in at a really low price. Send me an email reply. And i'll send you a link and what happens is when you do this method and people like the idea of the numbers they're gonna pay. That's what happened to me. I emailed my list. I immediately had people buying now. Ach fret hardaway. Make a membership site retain people. What's supposed to be in it right so solve the huge problem and then opened up a really big good to half problem and i had to buy his digital course are you know. So that's that's that's part of the the philosophy and strategy behind the golden egg that you know it's picking the right topic that's aligned. It's having something that you can trip out over a period of time. That actually shows your expertise in who you are. And then it's you know it's solving burning pain and then opening and closing that loop opening loop on a much bigger one and i have. I have some questions for you in. I don't want to overstep the no. You have because on this which is an amazing but i want actually this question you can you can. You can follow up. You want so here. We go great that you have a good lead magnet. What about the landing page itself. What should be on that page great. I mean we'll go. i wanna go into about. How do we put together. The dishonor lead magnet. But what about the landing page because keep a good to go. Go to this page in. If it doesn't speak to them then you're not going to get lead magnet or was that part of the magic in an of itself. So i'm stop talking. You let me know what that is. No that's a great question. I thought a lot about this. And i wanna make it super simple and because you know when i offer my lead magnet is going to be on something like this where i'm a podcast guests am. I'm doing the front work by talking to people. About what what you know. My expertise is in what problem is solved for them offhandedly mentioning you know something that can get people into my world. It's my audience. And so fortunately in those situations i've done the work right but a my lead magnet basically. It's it's.

"Social media's great a podcast is wonderful. i have one. I'm i'm all for them. But at some point we need people to take a next step with us. And you know you mentioned periscope in your intro in your intro music. I had no idea parents cope was even still thing. I know like some social media platforms. You know they can come and go. And so if you're main platform is rented land like that that you don't own your business on shaky ground and so have a platform by all means also on your list. Have your email list in grow at nurture it because you're your list is your atm. And i don't mean that in a scammy way like you know. Draw all the time in. Burn them out. I mean when you have a large engaged list who trusts you and knows you and you've been adding value to them. They're going to be so eager to learn how they can continue to work with you over time. And that's going to grow your income and your business and your thirty. So the thing is there's all these different types of lead magnets out there. There's quizzes there's pdf. Checklists cheat sheets. The big thing back in the day was the e book and evoke still can work but the thing is they sound like work and they take time and we want a quick instant win and the other part of the challenges. You know a lot of times. We have these lead magnets that maybe they get a one off quick results but that person who downloads it once. They're done with it. They move on with their life and they forgotten who you are. I saw this when i was trying to learn how to grow my audience on instagram. And i knew the key was hashtags. But i didn't understand how you figure out which takes to us or hundred research that i downloaded a bunch of other thought leaders you know. Pdf guides and things like that and after a few days they all kind of mixed together my brain..

"Been a singer songwriter. That had a band and so forth and now they're like a speaker Zuma's brakeman's while he was here While back and i'm also singer-songwriter but probably not. I'm just now learning the piano. I'm doing my thing learning learning piano. Which is a big a big a big journey for me after all these years. It's really really really tough. Yeah it is. My worst instruments plane eleven instruments. Some of which official nba piano is one. Where if i don't play it for a minute. It's done like i got almost like starting over in boston. I was so sad. Berkeley called music. Oh okay okay. Yeah no many many people from berkeley. Yeah absolutely so. Let's get started challenge right now first of all current projects curve project so i may digital marketing consultant specifically for entrepreneurs who are launching digital courses. So i've become something of digital course geek and i'm digital course obsessed but the thing is so many people are coming to the online space right now wanting to pivot or because of covid. They're having changed the traditional in person business. something online. Everybody in their mother wants to build a course but the problem they're having is they don't have an audience right so my current projects are all centered around less focus on the course of moron. You need a following. Whether that's leveraging somebody else's or building your own and so got two things in the mix One of them. I'm really excited about. It's going to launch in april but it's called catapult launch is idea where if you've got a course your audience is out there you just gotta find it you know if you're if you're up and coming into great course it serves people in certain way but you just want to that audience. What you can do is you could find the right partner. Who's got an engaged following a thought leader in a topic that overlaps where you fill a gap in what they teach her serve. So i'm actually partnering with somebody who has done this over and over. He my clients in his his friends have basically done this. And launched them to consistent five figure launches and then you know six figure years basically you know it's an affiliate system but it's not one where you have to like blow out their e mail boxes selling burning out there list right gotcha. Gotcha that's awesome as lost man so one last question before we dive in excess of all of the guests to what what is your. What is your daily routine. Look like it's funny. Because i used to be very unorganized artsy type of decision. Just whatever the day brought at me. Until i realized you'd live your life like that. The whirlwind comes in and tells you what your day's going to be right so i wouldn't say as disciplined as as i would like to being and i'm getting back into it i'm kinda hitting reset but typically there's some kind.
