"Can see the Scottish. The red and the beard. Yeah. Yeah, we've got the castle balvin. Is our family. You know, it's ruins, right? Nobody lives there. You can get a ticket, go take a tour. It's all ruins. You park at the glenfiddich distillery. Did you go there, Jeremy, on your trip? Talisker is way more interesting in sky. Oh, no, yeah, so the castle is in space side. But yes, yeah, on sky, we have scary brac is the name of the ancestral home. But sky was one of the first for the clearances. So we got kicked off a sky, you know, right after the jacobites, the failed Jacobite rebellion. My exposure happened going a lot because my dad lives there. It's spoken less, but when I went to Galway, we took a plane out to the isle of Aaron, another horrible little boy. Horrible. And there they do speak Irish, but there's not many people there, but they are actively trying to encourage the language to be spoken, but obviously Northern Ireland where if the unionists and the Republicans and they don't agree and it's a contentious point because the Irish wants to be taller in the schools and the unions that want it. So that is a problem that they're trying to solve. I mean, I think it should be taught. And I think it should be optional. Yeah. I mean, you have to take second language is what better language than your own. Wow. Some people say it's not our own. Our own is the king's English, but here's what it is. Okay, so you've been there, ten to 12 years now? Something like that. So have you, what kind of experience have you had living there with kind of understanding climate change? Has it affected Hawaii? Yeah, in approvable way to explain it to save some doubters. Before I came to Hawaii, I was scuba instructor in the Florida keys where I experienced my first coral bleaching event. And that broke my fucking heart. And then when I moved to Hawaii, I saw a lot of the same sort of stuff, you know, direct, as a scuba instructor, I take these people out to the, you know, the reefs. And then they just kick off, kick all over the coral, knock it over, you know, kick sand all over it, which kills the coral. You know, coral is an animal. And it's not just, it's not a rock. It's an animal. And that animal lives symbiotically with a phytoplankton. Zooxanthellae that lives inside of it.

"Researchers in affirmation study stated that sleep restriction can lead to persistent changes in the immune system by promoting inflammation in increasing susceptibility to illness. That's their conclusion. Now sleep deprivation. Dramatically disturbs the systems that actually helped to regulate armenian system so the overarching systems including the brain and nervous system. One primary roles of sleep that we now understand today only recent the last few years have we actually uncovered. This is the importance of sleep in regulating detoxification and one of those being detoxification specifically in the brain for our Fatty system earned by the glee cells in the brain this system essentially as clean house from the trillions of processes. Take place in a given day in the metabolic waste products. Those things need to get swept out of the brain essentially and so the glenfiddich systems kicks into action. When we're sleeping it's ten times more active than when we're awake to remove these debris from our system that can create a lot of stagnation and suppress depress our cognitive function. The function of our brain overall in our nervous system. That again is in constant contact with our immune system. Everything is happening in the same medium so when we're sleep deprived inherently our brain function is dramatically diminishing and by its very nature dramatically diminishing the function of our mean system. That's just another one of the layers connections..

"Is a dear friend An adviser a mentor and someone who is really working hard to change the world on multiple fronts a multi guest on the show author of a book and ceo of a company called volume. That you know. I'm a big fan of. I'm talking about none other than navene jane. Navene welcome to the show. While dave is always an honor and a pleasure to be on your show and no one that i keep coming back. Most people taught even our immune system actually stops at the blood brain barrier now. They found immune system all the way to the brain. Glenfiddich system your lymphatic system in also the communication between the bacteria organisms in the gut to the brain interesting. What's interesting what what happens in the gut doesn't stay in the when you are anxious. You got the butterflies in the stomach. When you're depressed what do you do you eat or you don't eat why is it. The digestive system is actually impacting. The brain it may turn out that as you mentioned that we may be just a wonderful beautiful container for these microorganisms for us to spread them around by pooping every year which is literally why they may have created us and they control our mood our behavior and craving which i found to be personally just amazing i would have. I used to crave the desert after every meal because to meet what exclamation mark. My meal is done senior ice cream but hit interesting park after i gave. Tv's just willpower. I just don't do it anymore. i don't need it. So what is it. That happened after three the willpower. After three weeks. I kill those bastards. Who were making me clear that don't come anymore. Don't get any more so my point is little that we know the controlling every part of her body. They are the puppet masters and one db going to realize that you know. I'm gonna digress. For a second year we talked about in humans having a soul right. And that's something that's eternal and when we died the soul goes away. I wonder if they were really talking about microbial. Put more or less microbiome move from one host to another host and a soldier simply merges into the nature and find some new host right. I believe the origins of consciousness are bacterial in in humans. Unquestionably the ego itself is a function of contra matter contra bacteria bacteria talk to each other the guts bacteria talked to them does. That's how we work. So microbiome mytalk andrea communicating that microbiome. Literally every bit every bit in our body is communicating the bacterial organism de were the athenian. How billion years ago. They had a lot of time to think lot of time to wall the humor. Suddenly couple of hundred thousand years old. We are still learning to communicate among ourselves so another thing really learned is now we can see the signatures all the diseases just by looking at you got microbiome fence. Cvs saying we can see the onset of depression onset of obesity diabetes ibs and then just from bacteria we can actually tell you you have ibs we can tell you have joint pain got arthritis and amazing things happen as you adjust to the micronutrients and micronutrients come in the form of supplements and on possibly even food and then you're able to adjust the biochemical activities using artificial intelligence amazing. Things happen via able to our hope is in the next five to ten years. We're going to be sitting here and talking about it and saying i can't believe there was people ten years ago. Who suffered through life. They had cancer and died. They had heart disease. Didn't know what to do with our kids are going to laugh at us. You mean people to just for the rest of their life because they just didn't know what you're everyone eight. The same diet would not eat the diet that works for me. It's obvious right. And mom and dad had lucy meal everyday. This sat around the table and eat the meal. You mean didn't have the personalized customized pd printed meal just printed for them and the statin eat together however meals who different for each person because going to be personalized. The idea of this consumer packaged goods are going to go away. They'll be packaged goods. Everything will be on demand personalized just for you. Customer and customized for you. That is what you're doing. Amazing stuff. Because i really believe the next ten years. The idea of people having chronic diseases going to go away. And that's our mission to create a ward. We're being sick is truly a matter of choice not a matter bad luck and it will happen daniels from now we wouldn't be discussing. This doesn't mean we won't have any other problem. Your kids are going to talk about and say why do we have to speak to actually trust for our parts to another person. You just had such a low bandwidth speaking to transfer you have a broadband seven g that just everybody understood your thoughts and they were just done and by the way you were sat in the class for four years bologne front. Learn about the things. You didn't just applaud their brain into you're done you know. The world is going to be so much cooler than it already as and you can see the slope of change if you've worked on it for decades and if you're sort of news this going how clean that'd be possible. "His life so to speak. He had captain america's life because of the you know suspended animation whatever and he was stuck separated from everything else that he knew would love and whatever so even without necessarily being specifically need to go back to spend my life with peggy. I can buy it as i missed. All the opportunities see resent aids. Sure you're you may read that into it but that's not how it's presented. He doesn't go back to like vagueness right. He goes back to get his dance with peggy. Like me very. It's a lot easier and faster to explain that in a in a film. I'm sure sure but like if that's what you're doing and like after i know. Twenty films of setup were if only captain americans like eight films setup right like that. It needs to be set up more. I felt cheap. I don't i don't buy it for the character. i don't buy. That was still his primary motivator conflict like he spent his youth and a war in the past but nothing else right and then like he spends probably as much adult time more going by that time late in the president then in the past. It's just idle at all. I don't think he didn't spend like twenty years in the time line right. He spent like ten. But how long was he an adult was. He's like nineteen when he joins the war right. Well okay adult. Yeah but i mean you can't discount his time as a kid mess sure. But that's not the type. He loved the place he loved and wanted like. He's got no fond memories of that except bucky. He's presented as brady fish out of water. That whole like it's not like his adult life is in the president right like even if he had to get used to the timeframe like i don't like he was that most in like twenty when he joins the war. Ray i in twenty but this so let's say he's twenty right like in world war two is like what seven years something like that. But he doesn't join right at the start rate. Where clearly a few years in america's involved in early for a few years like he's two three years at most and then like ten years in the present great he's been in adult the present longer. It's just it's it's cheap like in your not like the more you think about it. The gets like it's just. It's easy like if he had a fully blown romance with peggy in the best. This all makes a lot more sense right. But she's a passing glance that he basically stops mentioning at civil war and civil war. He never mentions earned civil war right. I mean it would be kind of weird if he just walked around all the time. They're like altron attacking and he's like. Yeah but i really miss peggy. He's got his individual like could it could have come up in civil war. There's plenty of just gap time right like time. See sitting with winter soldier talking like remember that. Yeah you build the scenes you foreshadow if this is a monkey remember peggy What did however however he has plenty of time to have many scenes glenfiddich lovingly at bucky screaming. Buggies name. And like yeah. Well you know to to bring this back around to. What if a bit more directly. I think this says something about this initial episode with captain carter about how easy it was for us to sidetrack talking about steve. Because like you said it. There isn't a substantial difference here. I love peggy..

"Of cellphones and certainly explained to your children. That cell phones are not toys and should be used by children for emergencies. But not for everyday use. You said something very important. Which is that normally. Under most circumstances our body has a repair system. Even our brain you know. Our podcast started off as being more brain specific. Our brain has its own detoxification system repair system glenfiddich system and when we go to sleep we go into deep dna repair. Our body sends out all the cells to go through that repair process. But one of the things that were really talking about here is the volume of total exposure. That's out there and not just sell directly related cell phones but also one thing i really appreciate your organization is that anything electrical plugged in that we are in close proximity to also emits an amount of ems. Is that correct. It certainly is correct. And you wanna be careful about it because obviously we're living in the modern world we're not going to be luddites and go back into caves where the we don't have electrcity but we need to be smarter and safer about how we use these things. And that's what we're promoting it. Environmental health trust safer technology. Yeah that's exactly it here. We are were so thankful and lucky to be able to use zoom. I have a microphone. I have an apple. Mac book pro a monitor and really. It's not about going backwards. It's about we can actually live in harmony with technology and use policy sometimes public pressure and awareness. Which is what this podcast is trying to do in educating people to see the things that we can do ourselves the things that we can ask government in a healthy way right we have to be mindful of regulation but in a healthy way that can be protective and more importantly to get at the root of this information. That's happening in the industry. So let's talk about that for a second because when you talk to a lot of leading experts in this space or just if you ask even non-experts doctors Researchers that are out there. Who maybe aren't aware of this But our semi open minded even from their standpoint or articles that are internet. It seems that the data is sort of inconclusive. That hey some studies show and some studies. Don't show so. Let's wait and see so. Let's talk about that. Why is that the current view when it comes to emf in its impact on human health. A number of researchers of asset. Very good question. Why do we have so much wide ranging studies. Well let me tell you. There's been an industry involved here that makes the tobacco industry look like amateurs they manufactured out. As long as you're uncertain you can continue developing the industry continuing proliferating it and that is exactly what's happened here. The manufacturing of uncertainty has taken the fallen four. Let's say you want to study whether a certain type of cell is damaged by ems. We know we know from experiments that have been done that the more immature sell the more vulnerable..

"He not harshly ornately but gently worn clothing correct. How many times have you bought an item of clothing owned aware once or twice and then you throw it away after you've had it for years and years and years collecting dust you only wart once or twice in the back of the closet or perhaps the storage room and you really didn't get the full amount of money out of it value out of it so that happens a lot. This is a movement that is taking place across america to help save us from our wasteful. Selves you can actually get a double whammy because you can buy secondhand clothes and donate your own secondhand clothes at the same time. So it's a positive cycle that actually cuts back on waste actually often consign them so you can eat off actually made too but if you don't want them is still does not a go into a landfill or be sitting in your closet or or whatever but unfortunately there's a stigma surrounding secondhand clothing stores or thrift shops. But it's time to bring this to light and talk about it and why it's so flawed this. I'm on my soapbox secondhand shopping saves you. Money has a positive impact on the environment. And if it's done correctly can certainly lead to a closet. Full some cool new duds huber very stoic. Today i'm not sure where to chime in here. Well i don't know okay. Well well as. I mentioned harshly warned. This is gently worn clothing. So we're not advocating to wear tattered clothing or items that are clearly unhygienic. Must of course tattered is what's in style. Yes that's always you know you buy you buy a pair of jeans and it's already ripped apart and really that's not a good deal because you don't get as much genes as you would if they were fully jeans but that's a whole nother upset. That's where it gets frowned upon because a lot of people think that it's not a good place to shop. It has a stigma to it. So now it's funny. That's the point that i was like. I don't understand that. Because maybe it's just the people that i hang around. There's no stigma too. I think this movement has helped quite a bit because it used to be a stigma. A lot of times the ten. Maybe but i think a lot of times too. They used to be in the wrong side of the tracks tech part of town to you have a whole different experience of consignment stores in. I guess it's different indiana. Maybe i actually did start shopping in secondhand shops until long past until after the stigma until the state was gonna wait for the stigma today. Yeah actually you can find some being find. Some amazing deals on barely worn clothing. That second hand shops that and put together far more unique style than than you will going and buying everything that everybody else buys. But i guess you can. You can buy a lot more and the whole issue of throwaway. Fashion is is really an issue these days that idea that we produce massive amounts of clothes ridiculously cheaply taking advantage of of people in the actual making of it the labor. Yeah and then and then it's thrown away. It's just got to wait for next year's fashion. Well it's ridiculous it's not made to last. It's not may it's made to be thrown away and it's bad for the environment wasteful and a whole bunch of other things so yeah the criminal around coming around to this way of thinking. Why do you think i ever disagreed. I didn't ever disagree. Look on your face was very story. When i was talking about like. I don't know what he's talking about. I got a bad vibe ear. Bible meters off. I have some numbers for you to one in. Five is the number of americans who will shop at thrift store at least once during the year ninety percent not bad seventeen point five billion the revenue of the resale industry in the united states every year. That's amazing especially. It would be interesting to know what the retail value of those original value of the clothing would be it would be. I didn't have that information. It's way higher. Did you know that one third of all of that seventeen point five billion is goodwill by goodwill the store goodwill so one third of it. That's because most people don't know their are better options that's true. There's several the smaller ones different charities. They're all associated with the cheery. Not all says eighty with charities or not the consignment shops but of the donation. Ones are the ones i know are the ones i almost. Every one of them are associated with charity. Okay not the ones that i've been to. You're going to wrong once while they're for profit enterprises and it might be. Because i usually looking for something specific and so i know there are certain areas of town that i want to go to if i want to get some like high end boots at a great deal or something like that but there are a lot of boutique style secondhand or consignment shops that are not that are for profit enterprises. That are not associated with charities. A lot of them are but a lot of them are. I didn't know that there's ten point. Five million tons of clothing that is sent to landfills every year ridiculous. Ninety five percent of the clothing is sent to the landfills can be recycled. Oh that's interesting either through goodwill and secondhand stores or just used again you know. Gotcha i thought you meant like chopped up and made into other things. Which i'm sure that's possible too. I would think so and one in four. The number of gen xers who are re-sailed shoppers. So slightly higher percent. twenty thousand. So why allow the stigma wearing news. Close beat the above scenario on the recycling. Reusing and repurposing cycle that. We're trying to teach the next generations. There's no stigma plus as we talked about. Now i'm choking. Many secondhand stores are set up for nonprofits raising additional funds for needy people in the community. So there's lots of benefits so enjoy your secondhand wardrobe day. All right now you can talk. Compensate you something to celebrate today if you needed to jump start so go shopping. It's never a bad day when we can encourage you to go shopping right. So are good. News story is also a reuse recycle story. It's funny how we come up with these. because we do these independently. She found stories. I find that. I didn't say it's not a competition because it's saying is what whiskey whiskey up there you go. Scotland's iconic whisky brand glenfiddich is the first distillery to process one hundred percent of. Its waste residues on its own site.

"Dot me slash dumb gay and you will get a forty five extended day free trial and it is worth it. Now it's time for so there's that all right so this is the part of the show julie to find a so. There's that moment that's happening. Because of or inspite of the giant cova culture war currently ruining the country on one side is an army of unemployed rubes who've been brainwashed by facebook and fox news and on the other side is a battalion of well intentioned elitist hypocrites who spend all day simpson and time and that leaves the rest of us nasty haters battling it out for the middle ground. It's damn near impossible to find any hopeful. Uplifting story in the social media cesspool that has become the entire internet. But julie does it for us week after week and on behalf of our fourteen listeners mammal i salute you now. Let's hear what random shit you pulled out of your ass meek well. This week was virtually impossible. And i haven't said that for two full weeks god. I'm trying to find some good news regarding anything but the coveted news is just back to co. it's completely the whole news of. It's the condom breaking in the deltas bursting in the bullshit and the california's on fire and oregon is on fire and florida's a swamp. Mate of kovin tucker. Carlson continues to be allowed to act like his show is news worthy when it's literally the biggest lying infected troll piece of shit garbage we've ever been inflicted with but i keep looking. He bone bone. He amount oh probably ask. That's toxic fine. fine period. Blood is made of hazardous waste. It's that could never house a baby child anyway. It would only have the demon child from evil of which i'd have to give birth to it and then eat it but okay keep on looking and whenever i get into a state where get frustrated like this week while looking for a good news story i have to one online shop which has done a lot of a to the point where a might have caused a problem and yeah. I've bought everything from sneakers to cat litter and to i look at new trucks and try and plan. One is the best time for me to get a new vehicle which yes it will be earth killa to the hybrid so while easing my stress with visions of old broncos delorean's in a brand new tank size car for me. I stumbled across a very interesting story. That i'm going to reveal here today. And it combines two of my favorite things whissy and trucks just saying right. maybe it's your third and fourth whiskey and trucks. I love whisky. okay. I mean as much as one can love a disgusting alcohol. I really do love whisky. I would love nothing. More than to take a trip to scotland and spend a week drunk in scottish pub or scottish pubs while enjoying the medieval history and amazing countryside and of course pretended braveheart and get into weird point. Isn't that scotch. Oh well. Scottish whisky scottish. But i thought that's that's okay. They make whisky. so they're scottish. Whiskey scotch whisky. So like whiskey like whiskey. Better than scotch. I personally. I think yes and i would say that for you to now. Scottish whisky is where it's at that's jamison. That's where even though that scotch scotch whisky. But it's made in scotland and we like it until until i can do these things or until we can do these things together because i would like to imagine that we're in the pub together. We're drinking the whiskey. We smash glasses on the floor. And then maybe it is. I who gets in the braveheart type fight while you are just enjoying your time. I'm still fat. Another drink away and go. I'm just gonna leave him to go ahead and do that now until this happens. I'm delighted to shine light. The scottish whisky company glenfiddich is doing not only for our alcoholism but for the environment who would have thought it would be an alcohol company that is leading the way in biofuel and trying to reduce their carbon footprint. It's ironic particularly because it also has to do with large trucks glenfiddich which started in eighteen eighty seven in scotland. They named it glenfiddich. Do you know which one. I'm talking about glenfiddich. Yes you can. Visualize the bottle. Well it's called glenfiddich because it means valley of the deer in gaelic pretty. It's a family run business and just out of curiosity yes. They even survived. Through prohibition during prohibition there were very few distilleries who were making their whiskey and selling it on the fucking down low. I love that yes. It's awesome there. It's an interesting company interesting family. And they're still there. And it's i would love to visit one day. Basically you're going to like speakeasy from their hidden and legal shit. Yeah basically in case. You didn't know there's something called the scotch whisky association pretty self explanatory and they put forth the scotch and whiskey sustainability strategy. Can you imagine. Did he exists. No a strategy for tweet at joe biden. It's odd we didn't get invited to the summit right because they were too busy dealing with their own fucking lives and not worrying about it and they have a strategy for sustainability and according to their website their mission is protecting nature preserving resources preventing climate change. They're not worried elon. Musk about not being invited. The meaning they're worried about like the cliffs of more down right. So though it's based in scotland and its members or scottish distilleries. They're working together to really and try to do something for the environment and glenfiddich unveiled this month that they are using whiskey waste in order to fuel their delivery fleet so whiskey or you're going to explain it what whiskey waste is. Is it like they're doing the process of the ri- and then there's like that bar lied understand even from reading about it. How it works but they go through the distillery process and there is a waste there is a. There's a some sort of yeah element the use like whatever the fuck they are left with that would potentially just have been waste that they would have just discarded but instead they've used the waste and turned into biofuel that few that's doesn't say a lot for whiskey if whatever that's right doing to make biofuels it doesn't taste like it. We all need to really take a long hard look in the mirror. That's correct and julie laying. Don't even try it with the fireball. Count exactly exactly so basically what this means is that every not every but they're working on every truck and i'm talking i'm talking like big trucks not..

"For a lot of people they get the coffee poop. Yeah so it can stimulate a bowel movement. And there's many different reasons. Why our hypothesis around. Why one of the really interesting things it. This way i love talking with you. Because i could talk about these kind of things But one of the interesting things is that coffee has been found and caffeine. Within coffee to stimulate the release of serotonin and serotonin functions. We think about that in association with with mood. Stability antidepressant activity anti-anxiety activity but also functions in the gut for intestinal motilal so literally the ebb and flow of the digestive system. Kind of helping to get things. Moving serotonin has a massive role in that and his source to make sense. When we realize ninety five percent of our serotonin is located in our gut produce bar. Tarot chromosome cells in there and so getting coffee in getting that serotonin boost. Association is one of the things that i feel. It's my sis that helps kind of get things moving along but even that stimulating bowel movement. We're we're we're releasing more energy re releasing fluid is well and so diuretic through the colon and also through our urine potentially so. Yeah we wanna be adamant about water. I'm a big proponent of water. I and many of our friends have really taken on his tenant. I've been doing it for Eighteen years now every day. First thing i do you know. Go have a tinkle. Go to the bathroom i go. I just had a instant image of my side and the potty training that whole thing so go pee. But then i'll go in. I'll have you know. Twenty of most of the time somewhere. Twenty five to thirty ounces of water start my day and this very specific because this is a time when for for most folks at the most dehydrated. You've often times you've gone seven eight hours potentially without drinking anything and your body's doing a tremendous amount of metabolic processes while you're sleeping. You know that you know a tofte. Jesus kicking in. We know that the galil cells in the brain. We know that they're more. "Category immensely. Yeah i mean then if any if any country deserves it. It's japan firt for a really keeping the industry afloat when it when needed it absolutely for sure so i. I started moving onto number three already. Yeah so the color. If you to put this in a blind you'd be like okay. Let's definitely a bourbon. However when you start getting into the nose and taste it is not an. I'm gonna go ahead and try to put my my little spin on this. I feel like this is much more share influence in my wrong. You're absolutely correct. Okay good good so my palate isn't just busted like i look at least a little bit what i'm talking about. Oh absolutely yup. The color is kind of kind of a dead giveaway. You don't you don't see that sort of Like just burnt copper. Hugh without without some some hefty sherry cask fluence. So now we're talking about a very very different flavor profile than than you're gonna find compared to the other two and you know i love I love coming up with these flights. Who said i do a lot of tastings both in person and lately virtual with the way that the the world has been and so once you once you switch to what we like to call in the in the scotch world sherry bom. You do not go back from that. So that's that's always going to be your closer for the evening and you know it's just gonna stick and stick to your mouth and just Coated with that extra sweetness. And there's definitely no going back after that. So is it just because of just the sweetness. And that's just we basically you're you're just gets like succumbs to it and then it's really kind of hard to go back to either something. That's a little more hay or straw color or anything like that. Yeah yeah we're just talking about the the the most full-body profile in that that that extra sweetness that comes from from the sherry. It's it's hard to top that the only thing that would top this would be something heavily pitted but were a that. That poor didn't make it to you. Unfortunately it's okay out of l. Have a little bit and it'd be like poor. Chris now goes down the drain. Exactly what you're probably noticing here is just how front forward those red berries. And that that hefty hefty baking spices. The times the actually most times the sherry casks get used in the production of scotch Either held alrosa theory or px. Pedro humanitarian and those are the sweetest of the sweet in. If you look at the spectrum of different types of sherry a whole bunch of different types. There's sherri out there that actually looks just like white. Wine has sort of a dry dry texture to it but and and also Have this super robust sweetness peaks in particular. The grapes. actually get sun-dried down to like the consistency of raisins Just makes it this huge big blast of sugar that goes into the production. And so yeah i mean you can. You can really tell the difference when when you're talking about A sherry compared to an expert on task for sure. And i will say that i've had the opportunity to have a a sheree bomber to if you will in in this was i think for maybe anybody getting into bourbon. I guess angels envies me your closest kind of competitor kind of something that you can get off the shelf relatively easy and compare it side by side However there's a notable difference in the flavor of the whiskey When it comes from something. That's a scott sherry versus something. That's just you know a bourbon. Finish in an export barrel. Yeah and you know. Part of that has to do with the fact that You almost get a chance to isolate the influence that sherry cask has without the competition from the corn so you think about the what a dominating grain corn ism and the kind of sweetness that that grain ads in bourbon. Well you take that. And you add a sherry cask finish to it and now you're just throwing suite on top of sweet And it kinda makes it. Tricky sometimes to to separate the two but when you start looking at something like a single malt where we're talking about a very different Much more robust grain. That doesn't just add that that. Big last of sweetness like multi barley. Now the influence that you're getting from the sherry cask is way more Easier to isolate it and really kind of kind of see exactly what kind of influence it has on. the whiskey is much more pronounced. You definitely do get more of that. Sharing note and i actually had to go back in and try number two Side by side to kind of figure out like okay. Well which one was more bourbon like It's hard to tell like i. I would love to be able to put two and three into a flight and actually see if i could be like which ones not the bourbon and i think that color alone. Of course three is going to be in there to a rule self out Still feel to would would still hang pretty well when it comes to it. Yeah i think so but but with three you know i'll let you do the reveal her in a second i i do feel that there is a very there is a there is a good share influence. That might for at least people that are not accustomed to a lot of bourbons would be like. Oh that's overly. Fruit forward is what they would probably think it is in fact it's really not what it is at all but it's still a very standout whiskey and i think and i know i'll put up to. You is like if you are if you are a bourbon drinker and you gave me three flights there three samples today in your to say like okay you want to make an entrance into the scotch released to try just to try and expand your horizons because we're all getting sick of chasing after allocated and getting told no you can't get any attack this year. Whatever it is what. Which one do you think is the right. Move for for somebody to go for here or is it just. I'd say it's a it's a tricky question. And the reason why i paused for a minute is that i chose a sheriff bam on purpose. Poor number three Because in my experience at least With with friends and family that are primarily bourbon drinkers. For for whatever reason the sherry bomb always seems to be a hit with the bourbon folks. i think that there you can kind of relate to the sort of the extra sweetness that kind of almost as itself as a really really thick layer on top of sort of that green forward note and so When you make the you make the switch over to scotch and now we're talking about again a grain in multi barley. That is very very different. Style than what you would find with with a corn based greenville having. I think the comfort of that extra sweetness from the sherry cask goes a long way while i think the that the The dean stanton gone. Scotia are are are great choices if you really want to Kind of easier way in by kind of going backwards through the level of sweetness. Something that's got some heavy sherry influence would probably be a good place to start all right. So do the reveal what are we. What are you drinking for. Number three number three is actually a single barrel and this is a fifteen year old single barrel from the balcony. So i happen to be a huge fan their name before. I've i've heard of before. So i know they're at least somewhat popular. Yes it's the Sexually the sister company our sister distillery of glenfiddich both owned by william grant and sons. They actually are almost like right next door to each other. And so this is a. This is a single sherry cask from the balcony. And i actually just getting to the end of this bottle but i have another one next to me and i want to show you the difference in color when i hold this bottle up. We're talking about like. Wow a fairly barely see through it. Yeah exactly And so any actually will put out. I fill sherry. Casks like this an refill sherry casks under the same label. And if you're curious to know which one is which just take a look at the color like you can tell. This is the first phil like. There's no doubt about it but there's a you know there's a there's a a really really crazy. Transformation that happens You know after fifteen years in a single sherry button and you're you're tasting here the the thickness in the The again just all of those dry berry notes The heavy spice. It's just heavy on the cinnamon and nutmeg. It all come so much of it comes from the sherry itself. The belvin is a really cool. Distillery to age sherry casks because The house style of this story is kind of an orange honey honey citrus type of profile to begin with So you think about like something. That's kind of heavy on the honey already. And then you add that sherry cask influence..

Chris two today three this year single sherry cask fifteen year old both three samples Pedro glenfiddich Scotia william grant first phil japan one single barrel single malt three flights fifteen years
