"We're going to take these questions super quick. You've been so bloody patient in every regard. So let's take them both. We will start with a great John cell. So remind us where you are and what's your question? Hey, good afternoon. I'm coming from New England's rising star of Hartford, Connecticut, home of the U.S. open cup participation trophy winners, the park for athletic. Oh my word, yeah, crushing loss, but it was a Red Bull, but it was a, it was at least they participated. So coming off an absolutely brilliant Europa League final. I was wondering what both of your most memorable European final moments were because for me, I was reflecting back to the 2018 Champions League Final with Real Madrid or a Liverpool. Not just because of bale's heroics and winning the match for them, but it was the first time we were in Europe when that was happening. And we were in Budapest, not even close to where the finalized, but just to see the thousands, tens of thousands on people in bars and pubs everywhere. Witnessing this and we finally got a seat at getting some donor kebab watching this and it was just the experience just as much as it was the result in the actual match. So what was your most memorable moments of the European final? For me, obviously Chelsea have won a close and that was at 1112 and then last season those were huge moments for me. But I'm going to talk about a game obviously the Liverpool comeback in Istanbul was amazing. But still for me, it's that 1999 final roger demand united come back against Bayern Munich. Those two goals so late in the game when the game was truly over, that was, I think, the first moment I was watching at a bar in Los Angeles. And I remember turning to my friend George at the time and saying, this is really the greatest sporting competition on earth and I still think that Champions League is the greatest. I still think that it is the greatest quality of football. I still think there are more twists in the tale of Champions League than any other than any other thing. But 1999 have obviously we grew up with some amazing finals and the sort of early versions of the tournament in the 19 80s and the 1970s, but really it's that 99 Champions League come back by man united that really still speaks to me. For me, I think I prefer not to give you my emotional sense of what I remember, but you know me really well, I always lean on science and objectivity, stats, stats. Yeah, and stats suggest that the world's answer will be the 1985 European Cup winners Cup final Everton against rapid Vienna. I mean, just an incredible rug, just an incredible Everton team. Everton won titles. They weren't true fees. They were just, you know, we were league champions. We were headed towards the European Cup and we weren't in devastating emphatic fashion. It was just glorious and de grey Travis Steve and Kevin sheet. I loved Kevin sheedy wanted. I mean, rapid Vienna would just not in the game. And it was a magnificent thing to witness. This team that I loved and that had gone around Europe and been on the same par as Liverpool as how in this dark time of Liverpool, the city, you knew us by our football and our music and we followed the team all over Europe, Liverpool fans fell in Liverpool all over Europe. We still sports gear from European sports shop after sports shop got really knee deep into the cost and the LS and the Don and all these premium European sports brands. And as a kid, I was like, nothing can stop us now. Of course, tragically, English teams were kicked out of Europe after the true hazel tragedy. Within a couple of months and so the Everton that we dreamed of never was and but as a kid as a child, that was probably never one of my favorite European memory. It's probably top 5 rods life memory. It was like turning to my dad. We're both crying just in nothing. Nothing, nothing can stop us now. God, I love that feeling and I needed that feeling amidst the darkness. We're going to take one more beautiful question before we leave in this Glasgow rangers night and morning. Rangers, fans, if you listening, gob bless you. It could always be worse. I was emailing with vast blog. And I was like, it could be worse, whatever pain you're feeling, you could be Everton. He's like, you're right. Yeah. We're not in your predicament. So this is great for me to have my spirits lifted. Let's bring up our company with us. Tell us where you are and how badly I just left up your name. Very good pronunciation, roger. I'm coming to you guys from Bethesda, Maryland. Hey. Big, big shout out to the home of street edge punk in America that great great town. What is your question, argent, bring us home? I think with all of the very high drama storylines in the Premier League this season, I think one has really gone under the radar much more so than it should have been. What kind of fanfare do you expect on Sunday for bike dean? Do you know, do you know yes, my dean is retiring for those who don't know, it is a deeply meaningful moment for anyone who loves to work of narcissist, narcissist, essentially, flamboyant narcissist, self interested, self involved, thespians. Dave, how are you feeling about this retirement? It's bad for business. The content's sake, we lose one of our true stars. Of our of our work. He's one of our muses. He's our referee muse Rodger and we're working hard to try and find another Kevin friend seems to be stepping up to fill the vacuum at the right time. But I'm going to be very sorry to see him go. I actually tried to get him to come on the men in blazers show. And I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that we can make this happen. I want to know what I'm fond of him in a way that I'm fond of crazy members of my family. I'm really want to see them at family gatherings, but I'll be sad when they go. And I feel I do feel a certain sadness. Mostly because he was a staple of the men in blazers show and GW's cut a beautiful video that they'd be able to dig out of him given his red cards. He was like 200 or something. And we made a film of each one of them. And I do believe that they should the Premier League meter honor this moment. And you should probably do a guard of honor where they reunite every single human being who might dean has ever read carded and make them form two lines and he should enter his last game through a God of honor of red cards and they should all hold up a red card to him. And then at the end of the game, they should put him on a large Viking boat, set it on fire and send them off down the river. That's why I'm just coming up with ideas here. Down the Thames. Up the Thames. I love it. God loves the human way. His last comment in how much in about 70 years if he gives a red card in his final game, that last red card will go for auction at Sotheby's more than Maradona. That's how much it will go for. Pull this together for us, this ranges in morning, Everton in morning, Frankfurt, in ascendancy. Oh, Burnley in ascendancy leads in ascendancy podcast. Yeah, absolutely. We will see. Roger, that brings us to the end, right? We had a few questions out of time. I've got to go and pick up my daughter from a football practice to read the line that says, that is it for this Spotify live roger. Yeah, quick shout out for a new episode of your new part of the women's game presented by.

"Roger, Devo, Scotland, beautiful Scotland, my heart breaks for you. Oh, so many penalty shootout shootouts fraud from the men in place of studios in the crap part of Bedford and the crap part of Culver City, California. It's men in blazers do it live. Oh, it's penalty shoot out with season. It seems like we can't watch your game without it and I don't know. Some of them are so crap they should have just gone straight to the penalty shootouts, they? Yeah, absolutely. This is our weekly podcast in which we do it live for those of you GFL piece joining here on Spotify live. Start asking your questions in the chat right now. We'll pull you up on stage later in the show to hear from you for those of you listening to this on a delay. If you don't do it live, do you even lindstrom? The only way to actually participate in the pod is to join us here on Spotify live. Can we get a tourist rock here? We can and I'm going to talk. Oh, let me put in there. Third first butter today. And I want to put it to another penalty shootout. I want to raise this to Nottingham Forest. Oh, wow. You were born with a championship with just four points from the first 8 games when Steve Cooper was appointed back in September. They are now on their way to Wembley 90 minutes and one win away for me return to the top right for the first time in 23 years after 20 year old Congolese goalkeeper. Made three, truly incredible, mind control gamey saves in a penalty shootout of wonder manager Steve Cooper said postgame that to win a playoff semifinal. You have to do a bit of everything. You need to play well and you need to suffer and forest fans have done plenty of the latter few support groups deserve joy more than them propelled it should be noted by an American CEO, the quite brilliant dean Murphy of reading Connecticut. There will be a lot of very hungover forest fans walking around the world today. Save it every second to you to your team, courage. Roger also, this morning, news broke that the U.S. soccer federation and the men's and women's national teams had reached an agreement at last on separate collective bargaining agreements to achieve equal pay on identical economic terms for both teams. This included not just an equal split of bonuses and through the 2022 and 2023 world cups. But also ratified a quality and performance based bonuses and the move towards a pay for play model in the women's leagues as your friend, midge per said, rod. It is a moment that finally creates that one nation, one team ideology that these amazing women have been chasing for many years. Truly historic day for football in the United States. I hope a historic day for football around the world because this is pathfinding. U.S. women and men's teams will receive the same financial reward for representing our nation so that equal pay structure and what's groundbreaking is the agreement to pull World Cup prize money. No other countries ever done this. It will be fascinating to see how many now follow. I do hope that a page can now be turned on, I tweeted this on a 6 year battle that a stain the game in our nation. It truly truly has tweeted that and a couple of keyboard warriors because there's a lot of people that do love to crap on this kind of news, a lot of there's a lot of humans who love reveling in misery and search. So that was quite a hyperbolic statement. I won't be clear. It's not a hyperbolic. If you talk to sponsors who are supporting the U.S. team, this has been a massive, massive problem for the game for both teams to cause X essential pain on both sides. And I did you quoted midge I loved opening up The New York Times today and reading her quote that there's going to be a lot of girls who are going to grow up and see what we've accomplished and recognize their value instead of having to fight to see it themselves and I love that spirit are truly sure there's going to be questions in this green room pop them in the chat. Producer JW's will bring you up to the stage and we will talk more about it, but top line well done to both parties for the women for the fight for the men for the way they have ultimately handled the negotiation. I'm looking forward to speaking to Tyler Adams who was on the leadership group for the gents on our next edition of his podcast, but they've truly turned an open wound for the federation into a leadership role for the federation and I hope a true pathfinding opportunity. Roger, I'll go take a step to the side and go a little bit further as well. I sat today with a major female sports broadcaster who has nothing to do with sockets. She doesn't have a soccer. And she was making the point of the effect that this has, comparing it to Billie Jean King and the beginning of the 70s, that the effect this has on women's sport and society in general that goes way beyond soccer around the world. There's too much inequality across sport after sport after sport. Even tennis where Billie Jean King did so much work so many years ago, there's still terrible disparities in prize money. It's ornaments all over the world. So bravo, I'm so happy that this is finally resolved I said one of the notes and bloody elated that part of the story here is that NWSL has written to the extent and it's still got so much more growing so much more development, so much more possibility, but it's going to such a level that the players feel confident they can earn a living by playing club football and they're not utterly dependent on international contracts and so they see a future, which is like the men's game where the real income comes from club game, internationally. In the past, it's really been about if you are a member of the U.S. women's national team, you will get a contract that gives you a real salary and everybody else is fighting often doing second jobs, but it is about the growth of the NWSL that's propelled this so congratulations to them to absolutely rod. Okay. The game we just witnessed while the drama rangers won Frankfurt one after a stalemated first half of the Europa League final burst into life when Joe aribo pounced on a two time mistake to open the scoring 12 minutes later a cross from eintracht's flip cost stitch found his teammate bore at the back post to level the scoring and send it to extra time and they'll need the team really looked like aeroplane for penalties. That's exactly where it went. It was Rafael bore again, stepped up for the final trip penalty and scored it great finish for the German side after Kevin trapp earlier had saved Aaron Ramsey's attempt. I'm track Frankfurt our Europa League champions roger. The Adler. I mean, what a festival of football we have witnessed watching really Seville become a Star Wars cantina pack with a 150,000 Frankfurt and Glasgow rangers fans who came should have been in Baku, Ron should have been a Baku. I know I had two funny I thought that why didn't I get a proper footballing point? What's wrong with you are you for why are they not? Why are they leaving money on the table? They could have taken it to Tajikistan or many other places, but they were they choose Seville and that beautiful stadium, that humid, humid football night. And the football was delirious energy, these fans have just drunk themselves stupid in a largely a hope. I mean, reports started to flicker out of trouble between some of the ultras and the Glasgow groups, Glasgow fans who'd had the fear, but I mean the scenes have been absolutely the joyous in the main. I loved every second. And as a as a game, I said it didn't really live up to the prelude as a sandwich yet. Yet the three days of drinking and the policy shootout, but the middle part of the sandwich or slightly less so you know for long spells in the first time. All I could think of was that after a day on the lash in Seville, David, the amount of sun burns on the return flights to the United Kingdom. We're going to be staggering, right? Yeah, it must have been amazing. I'm pretty sure rangers must have won the three day drinking regular time. That was not that never had to go to extra time or penalties. But yeah, I mean, well, every rangers fan looks like they could.

"Frowny face, if yes, possibly the best team ever. Now, that's obviously a little bit of an exaggeration, but not that much of an exaggeration. This kid is wonderful. He's wondrous. I was having a debate with someone online as to what kind of young player have we seen young Spanish player come in and make an impact at senior level so quickly for club and country. Even says fabre grass, I don't think has had quite that same impact. What a question. Yeah, it's a tough one. But Pedro very, very important. The eintracht story, though, is the most interesting Barcelona story coming out of the weekend. So. Basically, Einstein Frankfurt did something that was very hard to do these days. There's only seems to be maybe a few clubs do it. And it's usually for a final where they get a huge allocation and then plus some. I think of Celtic portal in 2000 to 2003 Europa League final. Celtic just completely took over the stadium by whatever means they got tickets. But Einstein had 30,000 people in the new camp, unbelievable. That is on precedented. It's unbelievable because their official allotment, I believe, was 5000. Yeah. Which sounds about right for a European game. But if you read Simon Cooper's book about Barcelona, which we really should, his most recent, the Barcelona complex. He talks about how the sources are season ticket holders. And a lot of them don't go to a lot of games. And sometimes, often, that's why your friends can often get tickets for Barcelona matches when they go on vacation, especially when I got to see Messi. It's like, how would you manage that? Well, they were playing at JR rails, I would go out there and there wasn't that many people there. And we bought the tickets online. It's the source use that are selling them. So this 30,000 was it creation of Barcelona. This is their fault. While laporta had this to say, the club is not to blame for what happened against eintracht, but it is responsible. The club is not to blame for what happened against eintracht, but it is responsible. He's giving the classic line of, you know, this is not my fault, but I'm in charge so technically it's my fault. He's trying to absolve himself of blame while also acknowledging that, well, I am technically in charge, so I need to say something that doesn't make me sound completely powerless and feeble. He goes on. We didn't sell tickets to German fans beyond the 5000 aware tickets. Sales from Germany weren't allowed, and there were many people trying to buy tickets from there. The system of control worked up to a point, but some organized groups were able to breach the mechanisms in place. We inherited the system from the previous board. We thought it would work. But we have seen for that special that for special games, it doesn't. Tickets will be now non transferable for non domestic matches and high risk games. We are working on other measures so that it does not happen again. You're basically just saying your shareholders sold their tickets. He says the club members are to blame. So don't be complaining then. Yeah. I mean, look, if people aren't going to go to the game and they want to make money for their ticket, which is understandable, I mean a lot of us have done that, put them on StubHub. You don't know where they're going, I guess. I don't know how they felt like a coordinated almost. But don't forget, this isn't the first time in German team has done this. Who was the team that went to arsenal? It was unbelievable. Completely took over. I mean, I remember the scenes that you saw on Twitter of them marching through the streets of London. And you thought, that's a lot of people without tickets. It wasn't. They all had taken up in there. But yeah, an unbelievable scene. And if anybody has found online an article depicting the way they did this, so laporta says they have systems in place that were supposed to not make this possible. I want to see the way, how do they manipulate it? Well, I guess. How do they find their way? Change your IP address from you can just do that? Oh, I'm in Spain now. I don't know, maybe you can. I don't know, it's beyond my, I'm barely know how to do anything on my computer other than update chrome. Well, maybe there's something beyond TunnelBear, something that can tunnel I don't even know what that is. Oh, relax, like there's some kind of professional CIA hacker. They call me the hacker. Yeah, it was brilliant. Untracked our team with a huge following. The teams that I feel can do this. I obviously have to include cologne now. I feel cologne track for Celtic de Irish national team. Who else will be able to do this? Liverpool, I guess. Glasgow rangers. I'm sure other German clubs. "Not having a goal, but no, look who they brought on late. Look, Alexis Sánchez and right, but look who Liverpool are bringing on. Liverpool just go out and buy the top one of the top prospects are one of the top players at Diaz and bring them into the site, bring them off the bench there. Not to mention it for me no, too, right? Who was like a cornerstone of one of the greatest teams in Liverpool history that is now a role. Exactly. Exactly. And so you look at that and then you look at Manchester City and Liverpool can play bad at the San Siro away from home and still win that game. And Manchester City can be four in a lot against the champions of Portugal. At halftime. The imbalance in this whole thing is growing and the Super League is upon us, and it is the primarily. It's already there. It's just in another name. And I honestly think the next iteration of a breakaway probably needs to be a movement from below. You know, I mean, these guys are already in a league of their own. Finally, JJ Red Bull Salzburg, Bayern Munich, one, one, fun game, Brendan aronson. Oh, if you were to talk to a Byron supporter right now, they would probably say boy, that guy was a he was a problem registered the assist for Salzburg's goal felt like he was a part of a lot of the action, felt some pride. JJ watching him out there. Andrew, he was absolutely brilliant and the energy in that Salzburg team that relentless running depressing. I want more. You know, it's just clauses, this guy don't. It feels as if I can't remember which defender it was for Munich on the left hand side. And it seems as if he's got plenty of time to clear this. Pops aaronson blocks it and straight away they're in. It was absolutely relentless football from Salzburg. And he was key. And by the way, there was some somebody on the Paramount coverage questioned whether that was an assist or whether he meant sorry whether he meant to play that ball into the path of the Salzburg player for the gold. He absolutely did. In fact, that little torch teased it up perfectly. It's insane to me that Thierry Henry would even question that. Really frustrating draw for them to fend off Byron. And Byron, you know, to their credit, I mean, they came at salts where they went down a goal in the 21st and then they kind of wave after wave. I mean, they were relentless in their own right the way by and R, Kingsley Coleman in particular, who wound up who went up getting the goal, he was fantastic in this game. A constant threat on the left side for Byron and they do eventually break through courtesy of Coleman. But that's, boy, that for a smaller ish club like Salzburg to fight like that against Bayern to have it only come up as a draw knowing that they got to go back to the islands arena for the second leg. That's a tough blow. It is a tough blow and I can tell you right now that losing aaronson Ali and adamo, which they invariably will know because the spotlight's on them. We already heard leads are in for aronson. That's going to happen too. So Red Bull Salzburg will have to go back to the drawing board and find those three players because from the performances that were put in tonight they're on their way Andrew. I enjoy that venue, by the way. You like that venue. Yeah, I don't know, the aesthetics of it, the noise. Yeah. You don't find it plastic or corporate or completely invented. Oh. That's not. Never mind everyone. Sorry. No emphatically. No. I'm not saying that. Look at the literature online around the Red Bull project Andrew. You're not going to be talking about the club. The setting. I don't know. I just feel like the crowd is kind of like in tight on the sides. Yeah. Soccer specific yeah. You know, the square, or the rectangular design, just looked good to me. Andrew likes squares. I was going to have to justify my opinion on something so subjective. It's fun doing this show, oftentimes. Let's see, before we move off of European club competition, JJ, I know you wanted to mention a little bit about the Europa League. Yeah, there is some what I would call sensual ties coming up tomorrow, Barcelona and Napoli. If that doesn't get you, get you excited. Classic Europa League clash. Well, it's the Maradona Derby as he graced bought teams. One with more distinction than the other, I would say, but nevertheless, it's just you look at the list of games that's at 1245 p.m. eastern tomorrow on Paramount, and you look at that one and you're like, this should not be in the Europa League. But it doesn't mean you can't enjoy it. I think that's going to be that's going to be a fun one Napoli flying high in Syria as well and Barcelona trying to continue the javi renaissance. I saw he made some comment to the effect of hearing the Champions League music made him angry. Yeah. Yeah. I'm sure. No, I'm sure it does. That's all he ever really I would have played a couple of UF cup games I suppose as a player. So I was going to say that's the only thing he ever knew, but that's not true. But yeah, it's the thing that Barcelona are synonymous with. Dartmouth. They will host Glasgow rangers. By the way, I'm sorry real quick not to, I don't mean to cut you off there. But I would say this to javi, he better he might want to take like, I'm not saying he's not. But I think Barcelona might need to take this competition seriously. Like they're right on the edge right now, like they're part of a legitimate race for top four in La Liga. And so most people would look at the Europa League, C Barcelona there and say, okay, they've got to be one of the two favorites them, or maybe Borussia Dortmund, I mean, severe always great in this competition as well. But that may be let me wind up being their root in to the Champions League next year. No, I'm sure I'm sure they're very well aware of that. By the way, I said, this is the kind of talk you get from me. The javi renaissance is not a renaissance yet. But I definitely think that that's an avenue back to where they want to be, Andrew, and like you said, things are not assured in La Liga for them. Just on Dortmund rangers, I'd forgotten this or maybe I never knew it, but I was listening to Giovanni van Bronco, the rangers manager and Gio reyna will come up against the man he was named after, which is Giovanni van brancourt, and his father, Claudia arena was, of course, teammates, and Friends with van Brock rangers in the early 2000s. I didn't know they were that good of Friends. I did not know that Gio reyna Giovanni renner was named after the Dutchman van Branco's described it as a special moment for both families to face each other and in honor to have had Reno ren of the younger named after her. That's amazing. That is cool. I don't think I knew that either. Actually, no. That's pretty.

"So yeah. It works. We'll agree to disagree. Exactly. Do you have embraced is reportedly on the verge of taking the Glasgow rangers job replacing Stephen judge? You may recall, he did a great job at Finland. And then chase the big bucks in China and then the pandemic and then no more money. If you get the fan on board, because there's no reason why you wouldn't. No. I think he's good. He's got great idea. He was obviously a ranger's player in his playing time, had loads of success there won the trouble. So he's very much liked he knows the club, he knows the environment. He knows the driver. He knows everything. I think great. Avoid the players they could have signed. I think this could be a really, really good one. Clever one. Honestly, I think he's a tremendous tremendous. If you were going straight from fine art to rangers, you know, three years ago or whenever it was he left, people were saying, oh, wow, right? Now because he went to China because we all kind of forgotten about exactly. No, no, it's really good. Meanwhile, the Premier League chairman Gary Hoffman is resigning his position. Yeah, most people probably didn't know even existed or is actually was doing. But the reason for departure are interesting. First of all, Gary Hoffman sounds like an accountant or something. I mean like a guy who's got like does he sound like no seriously? You know, you're on the subway and you know, there's a sign like injury lawyer, Gary Hoffman. Better cool. Better called Gary Hoffman. Yeah, better call Gary Hoffman. I have a couple issues with this, right? So we work in football. I knew who Gary Hoffman was, 'cause I'm sad that way, and I filed for politics. I guarantee you that if we were to pull our producers or here in the room with us now and they were having a truth serum, they would have had no idea. Exactly. So this is what bugs me. It's a very lope. It's a position that's obviously very powerful and I'll get to why he lasted a minute. But equally, nobody ever heard him talk, WWE was. We know Richard masters is the chief executive. It's much more it's much more of a hands on situation. We know who he is because he's a guy who looks like a footballer because he's got the footballer haircut. And he's been there a long time. The clubs apparently, they're furious with the way the Newcastle sale was handled. The way first they stopped it, then we're going to go to arbitration and sail through. The fact that a lot of clubs found out that the Newcastle sale was approved when Gary Hoffman emailed them. He emailed them after it had come out in the media. It's not a good situation. And look, I don't know, maybe nicest guy in the world or whatever. But if there's a positive to come out of this is when people do stuff that upsets the 20 Premier League club for the most important things is they are the stakeholders in the Premier League. Exactly. That he should be gone. Liverpool have revealed that midfielder Curtis Jones is eye injury is more serious than anticipated. It's going to be out for a few more weeks. Just to me, this is a big deal. You know my obsession with the proposed midfield. Yeah, exactly. And my attempts to bring Genie by an album back I love of course, which would never happen. And we like Cody Johnson as well because he's very good at what he does. Very unfortunate incident at training a finger in the eye completely, I think unintended. And then maybe you think if we tell you about the injury itself, but that's nothing. We all have had at some point. But this one looks pretty bad to the point that you have to be sidelined for a few weeks, which is a big problem for club because it's an option less for you available in which you don't have many options to be. I was only a cantara. All of that. I'm assuming she was trying to use the international break to come back. Because it's been a long time. So not good news for also a very congested feature list that come between now and obviously Christmas time. Former remedy striker David aganzo is the new head of 5th pro. The international players union gab will make a difference. So if you're follow U.S. sports, you know, the people who had the players unions are super, super powerful. Yeah. That's in the U.S.. It's really weird. And you asked the land of free markets, Milton treatment and all this stuff. The unions, at least in sports, are super powerful. Here in Europe, Europe, we have powerful unions in many walks of life. Not so much in football. No collective bargaining. I think a lot of it is because the national unions are more powerful. But I think FIFA is a voice. And I think it's an important voice. As the gained globalize as they have more to say, the difficult thing is because it's an umbrella of unions around the world. I saw it always easy to square stuff that's happening in the Cameroon second division with stuff that's happening in the Premier League for La Liga. But there's some good people working there. You know, we've had Jonas bear Hoffmann on. I think really, really a straight shooter. I'd like to hear them being more of a part of the conversation. The guy before him was French. Of course, Philip. Now I think in 30 years, I've never actually heard the PSP. He spoke a bit in the French media. I'm not even sure he spoke English. So speaks English, which, for me, already a 5th pro, because you're the players union for the whole world, if you don't speak at least three or four languages, it's a problem how do you defend your players if you don't even understand them? Yeah, I think the fact that also, again, nobody knows I feel was kind of like the Gary Hoffman. Nobody knows who he is. No. That's true. And you need to have a gun. You're gonna rip your you need to have a unit. You need to have people. Otherwise, there's no point, of course. Manchester City defender Benjamin Mundy has appeared in court via video link and has now been charged with two more counts of rape. Tim and another man, Jules, it's now 6 allegations of rape and one of sexual assault. I don't know what to say. I know. There's another evening today for him or court appearance, sorry, and then I think the trial because there would be a try on January at the end of January 24th. Crazy story. He's obviously remaining in jail for now. He's been there since the end of August. And this is someone who won the World Cup in 2018. Who was one of the most expensive defenders of all time, who looked like he had the world ice fit so much talent and yeah, we would wait and know if he's found guilty and of course and there's always the fight that he says is innocent..

"Always <Speech_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Music_Female> <Speech_Female> <Music> makes me laugh when people go off. Someone's <Speech_Male> been tapped up someone's <Speech_Male> been tucked up. <Speech_Male> Well, the process <Speech_Male> is a manager <Speech_Male> normally rings you and <Speech_Male> says, if <Speech_Male> I put a bid in, would you <Speech_Male> be interested in coming? <Speech_Male> If you say <Speech_Male> no, then the <Speech_Male> bid doesn't actually get put <Speech_Music_Male> in. If you say yes, <Speech_Male> and then the bit <Speech_Male> goes in, then <Speech_Male> people go this the <Speech_Male> clubs have done it the right way. <Speech_Male> So 9 times <Speech_Male> out of ten footballers <Speech_Male> always get a call. <Speech_Male> I got a call from Glen <Speech_Male> roader when I was at sunland. <Speech_Male> And I was <Speech_Male> completely happy at Sunderland <Speech_Male> playing with Peter Reid. <Speech_Male> Loving <Speech_Male> life back in the northeast <Speech_Music_Male> and Glen roader <Speech_Music_Male> asked me, would I <Speech_Male> be interested in going to <Speech_Male> West Ham for a second <Speech_Male> spell and I saw <Speech_Male> you don't really <Speech_Male> say you can't <Speech_Male> say no, you just go, <Speech_Male> because it's like respectful <Speech_Male> and you go <Speech_Male> yeah, yeah, yeah, of <Speech_Music_Male> course I would say, <Speech_Music_Male> and then the bid goes in <Speech_Music_Male> and then <Speech_Music_Male> you've <SpeakerChange> got a decision <Speech_Music_Female> to make then. <Speech_Music_Female> Tapping off <Speech_Music_Female> his rife <Speech_Music_Female> still and it's <Speech_Female> been happening a long time. <Speech_Female> Shinji kawak <Speech_Female> kagawa. <SpeakerChange> Kagawa. <Speech_Female> Yeah. <Speech_Female> That's <Speech_Female> why I apologize <Speech_Female> to people. <Speech_Female> <SpeakerChange> That's who <Speech_Female> it was. Anyway, <Speech_Female> lastly, <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> Dan, the orange <SpeakerChange> man says, <Speech_Female> if you could play for any <Speech_Female> single current <Speech_Female> team, <Speech_Female> which team would you pick <Speech_Music_Female> <SpeakerChange> and <Speech_Music_Female> why, <Speech_Male> okay? <Speech_Male> You got a minute? <Speech_Male> A second. <Speech_Music_Male> Stevie, God. <Speech_Female> Oh, live a puckle. <Speech_Music_Female> <Speech_Female> Is it just <SpeakerChange> because of <Speech_Female> your <Speech_Male> association <Speech_Male> with the club? Well, everything. <Speech_Male> Right. For every <Speech_Music_Male> reason. My <Speech_Male> socialism with the club, <Speech_Male> the way the team <Speech_Male> plays. <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> Being the manager, <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> yeah. <Speech_Music_Male> You name it. <Speech_Music_Female> Absolutely. <Speech_Music_Female> Frank? <Music> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Male> Well, you know, <Speech_Male> of course, I would love <Speech_Male> to play for Chelsea, <Speech_Male> you know, because of the <Speech_Male> players, but also because <Speech_Male> of two girls. I think <Speech_Music_Male> it's a fantastic coach <Speech_Music_Male> and I will have a love <Speech_Music_Male> to <Speech_Male> be under <Speech_Male> his orders, but <Speech_Music_Male> otherwise <Speech_Music_Male> will be Bayern Munich. <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> I always thought you <Speech_Male> know that I would have been <Speech_Male> nice, almost time <Speech_Male> for Borussia Dortmund <Speech_Male> in 95, <Speech_Male> but I'm very <Speech_Male> fond of German <Speech_Music_Male> football and <Speech_Music_Male> I think the way <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> the <Speech_Male> politic of <Speech_Male> Bayern Munich the way <Speech_Male> they <Speech_Male> handled, you know, <Speech_Music_Male> years after years decades <Speech_Music_Male> after the case, <Speech_Male> that would <Speech_Male> be nice to play <Speech_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> underground. <Speech_Music_Male> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Music_Female> <Speech_Female> Yeah, nice pick <Speech_Female> that. Don, if you got a <Speech_Female> club that maybe you didn't <Speech_Female> play far <SpeakerChange> that you think, <Speech_Male> oh, I wouldn't mind playing <Speech_Male> for them. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> A club that I nearly <Speech_Male> signed when Glenn <Speech_Music_Male> wrote a phone me and <Speech_Male> west arm <Speech_Music_Male> in Glasgow rangers. <Speech_Music_Male> And now <Speech_Music_Male> Stevie G's at rangers <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Male> for all the reasons <Speech_Music_Male> that Stevie said about Liverpool <Speech_Music_Male> and club, but I'm not gonna <Speech_Male> I'm not <Speech_Male> gonna antagonize any <Speech_Male> evertonians watching. <Speech_Male> So I would say <Speech_Male> playing for rangers <Speech_Male> now <SpeakerChange> under Stevie <Speech_Male> G that would be something special. <Speech_Female> Yeah, <Speech_Male> that's a nice pick that <Speech_Male> done. Thanks to all <Speech_Male> of you. Hurry up, dawn, <Speech_Male> because he may not be <Speech_Female> there for long. <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> Next. <Speech_Female> Thanks. <Speech_Female> For the latest edition <Speech_Female> of extra time. "I actually did have one can too when it came to these sports trivia because we do of course land in liverpool and the doctor does mention the road which of course is home to the liverpool football club the medium. Yeah yeah also yeah. They didn't change your same used to being fueled road at the time but it wasn't tenth and but the story that she mentions is that she watched the barcelona game multiple times. And that's that's match has become ethic for liverpool fans because back in twenty nine seen when liverpool won the champions league which is a crowns. Basie the best team in europe okay. They actually actually faced off against barcelona in the semi finals. They lost to barcelona in spain three. Nothing search seemed like they were going to be out because they'd have to score three goals or more to stay in in the champions league. Okay beats bacelona for nothing which was epic and rents then made it to the finals. The champions league and end up winning the champions league back in twenty nine thousand nine. So that's why i share the reason. Why the doctor was so pumped about in mentioned that she watches that game over and over in because it is a very epic game now for liverpool now. So you think that was the tenth incarnation rooting for barcelona. Seems so though. I wouldn't be surprised. I probably see the ten being either a chelsea fan or probably being a support of the london club's side. I have a feeling that the tenth doctor probably supports that supports the chelsea. Maybe david ten sports the glasgow rangers. I don't know but there's story in there to have doctors. different doctors. Various doctors rooting for different football clubs. Of course if because of course football is is you know. It's like american football in the in the states because every every most british folks with assault support one football club in one way or another so yeah so was nick and was that the first off i. I'm saying the doctors. Afc richmond fan The eat thank you Was that the. Was that a little bit of football banter back and forth when he says sheffield and he talks about your to close to leeds. Right right yes because liverpool and leeds have a big rivalry. When comes to what it was. Yeah that's the vibe. I got to because that it was the kind of you know that local rivalry between leeds. United's they can't stand each because it wasn't wasn't Liverpool part of like part of lancashire. If i'm not making yeah because the other ones yorkshire yeah that's right so it's kind of rival between counties right correct. Yes okay so what make sure i understood that so good very nice american so when you're in when you're in europe you can't help hearing about football because it's basically all they talk about comes to sports but yeah the same is true for american football here in the state so yeah in college football When i moved to dallas. I was amazed at how much the dallas cowboys seal the atmosphere. You mondays..

"So it's really getting people back into the labor force too optimistic to see a material tomorrow But we will be coming through Partially from the pickup in child we've already seen sort of nursery spend starting to pick up a little bit on that So all of those issues should start But it's that don't see the labor force rise that's the shock that's going to weigh on U.S. output It's going to be very difficult for the U.S. economy to continue to power ahead if it's labor forces and stepping up So over the next few months that's the key I think to where we're looking That's interesting That's a different interpretation than some people would say who say that the labor market is tight that these people might not be coming back into the market And that will actually lead to more wage increases higher wage inflation that leads to a more sustainable inflationary outlook for the United States Are you pushing back against that Yeah I don't think it'll necessarily I don't think what's keeping people back at the moment is low wages I think there's been a fundamental shift that's come through from the pandemic And it's not clear how quickly that will pass It's going to say we've talked about a couple of the issues like concerns for child care But you know you also flashed up in that graphic of the prospect of mismatches There could fundamentally be a more structural issue here It may well be that the people that have left the labor force don't see the opportunities to come back And for whatever reason whether there's a skills mismatch or a geography mismatch so that could be a structural factor But wages I think will be a byproduct of what comes through Typically labor force to engagement improves as you go through the cycle The stronger the economy runs the more you tend to take people coming back into market But that does typically come around at the same time as wages So coincidentally the two come together But I don't think that people are staying out of the labor market now because they don't have wages ahead David very quickly here axes and insurance company You have huge medium and very long-term liabilities as well After the uproar of the last number of years and particularly the global fiscal expansion are we back to a single digit world Are we back to where insurance companies and serious money have to reduce down their actuarial assumption forward In terms of life expectancy or no no investment return Oh well I think what we're likely to see is a period where it's going to be a little bit tougher But you know for the person on the street that's going to be an interesting one to talk to because we've gone through a period where economically it's been very bleak at the last year or so And yet investment returns have been very good But yeah I think as we move a little bit further ahead I think that the headwinds are going to be there And part of that is monetary policy Part of what we've seen is global central banks deliberately providing a boost which has fallen through into asset prices and has helped invest with returns And I think as that process normalizes and we look forward to some central banks actually reversing that And that's obviously going to be a headwind to all of this assets So it's not just that we're going to be starting to see longer term yield right but it will also be a headwind to risk assets as well David thank you David page there of axa investment Joining us on the latest in this economy Time I made a bit of an error a little bit earlier I talked about Glasgow rangers without Several papers opinion positions where driven marina metex etc. But then sometimes it's always balsams falling on deaf ears. But i think these fellow at birmingham city is different and as really always family going. I think the birmingham city could be a dark goes next season no. I don't think we'll be tackled. 'cause we shut off great with his first game today giving beat street one by shelter. Did you certificate guy himself. It can but you know you know. I wonder around plays primarily episode updates. I mean pay ranges glasgow rangers and glasgow celtic with the right players. All believable football club if absolutely i have nothing but admiration for them in fact celtic the first team ever british team to win the european cup. So that's how successful celtic war in the day. It's very difficult now because they can't compete moneywise. You know so. I'm gonna go celtic. But i think the celtics fans will be honest with themselves. They'll always support the team. The lowest get behind the players and they'll always want the team to do well but they would love to be able to to sign these top wilkes the canes this will contra percents. They would love to be able to do the and by the way the big enough to do without him. That's what all these so super league was on the boat. You know getting the biggest clubs in in europe into a league where they given a lot more money and then there was clock. Southsea can ranges would be able to buy the best players. 'cause at the moment going forward they won't but you..
