I Was an Ugly Child

"Crave compliments. Love them so much. I was an ugly child. So i like i saw that people get them and i was like fun experience you know. I was diagnosed as ugly child at the age of eleven by caricature artist at six flags. And i didn't know until i really did it. You know and then he turned that canvas around. My dad was like great. Oh my god it's uncanny. My whole family is like what neck like really okay. I didn't know. I had bucked teeth and bushy eyebrows. A founding father haircut tiny bicycle. But then i know i know listen. I kind of had an idea that i wasn't that cute. You know because. I had a really beautiful sister. Growing up never went through an awkward phase. She would just so stunning she literally would stop traffic when i pushed her in front of it and tried to get her out of the way and i'm the second prettiest sister and then there isn't another one but got that but people would stop my mom as a child and tell my mom that my sister should be a model like right in front of me and be like this child needs to be a model and they wouldn't see me at first in the night emerged from behind my mom's legs like no s- fraud. What should i be desperate to be discovered or whatever and they're like you should be a. You're going to be a model train enthusiast probably. I think you should start collecting soon. 'cause you're gross and cool whenever i see two kids one's cuter than the other. I always tell them on. Your kids are cute. I make an emphasis on kids. Then i wink. She knows she'll now and you can get away with pretty obvious wing because usually ugly one has a lazy eye situation so they'll miss it entirely so you can be but just don't single out. One child is cuter than the other. Because we don't need more female comics. I can't take the competition. And that's that's how you make

So now what if he's not If he's still not happy, and he still expects something to happen. What does that mean? It doesn't mean that teams haven't been calling every time somebody called the Packers. It was immediately shut out. So, look, what these teams need to do is continue to call and continue to call whether for him to show watch any of the guys like continue to call to show interest because what happens in the NFL teams are so afraid to make the first call, because you they think you lose your leverage. Disgraced Hollywood Producer Harvey Weinstein Appeals Sex Crimes Conviction in NY

"For former movie mogul Harvey Weinstein took steps today to appeal his conviction in New York on sexual assault charges. Comes as preparations were underway for a court hearing that could lead to his being extradited to Los Angeles. KCRW's Terry Glaser has more Weinstein serving a 23 year prison sentence after New York jury found him guilty of rape and sexual assault, and he's facing 11 more charges in Southern California. When it comes to the New York case, Weinsteins lawyers alleged the judge made several mistakes which led to an unfair trial. They say one of the jurors should have been dismissed because she was writing a novel about predatory older men that had similarities to the case. She was seated on the panel because the defense had run out of challenges to potential jurors. Weinsteins lawyers also claim the judge admitted evidence from three women about sexual violence that was not directly related to the case. And they say Weinstein was forced to give up his right to testify because the judge would have allowed prosecutors to question him about allegations beyond the specific charges

Social-Media Companies Took an Aggressive Stance During the Election. Will It Continue?

"We heard leading up to the election was the role of social media companies, particularly how they monitor political discourse. That's the subject of a story by Emily Glaser TECH In Politics reporter for The Wall Street Journal. She joins us now. Thanks for joining us. I'm having So the headline of your story talks about social media companies and the aggressive stance they took. Let's start with that. How would you characterize that? Companies have been doing more and more to regulate political content over the last year or so, but we really thought and pick it up. During election weakened right beforehand, Twitter took a couple of moves to limit the spread of viral content on this platform, and to stop the spread of misinformation on Facebook and Google, Very Facebook and Twitter have been looking more moved to Rabel Post that might be misreading a pulse and then YouTube ultimate for their platforms down, wearing content back of the building, But mental election week where we saw that happening, built throttle Twitter with Regularly labeling President Trump's tweet that had an accurate information about the election and that you've been picked down some groups. What was the justification for the stepped up effort? The air in a bit of a tough position because there isn't a lot of regulation on content, moderation. So the second they find themselves calling the moves in the shop, and they don't always do it consistently, but it because there was a sense that they really wanted to have accurate information out about the recollection and President Trump had been treating Herman thank the election was rigged Question of mail in ballots and other measures. There was an effort that these tech companies had to take matters into their own hands and effort to try to prevent the spread of misinformation, inaccurate information getting out to their hundreds of millions of users. One of the things you wrote, is that the companies are being put in a position to determine what they believe is true. And what is not, in a sense, how comfortable were these companies with that approach? Not very initially backed her shore. You know, they look, CEO Mark Zuckerberg has been talking a lot about the free speech and how that's very important to him. He said that quite frequently, but we both him on. Other tech executives, including Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey consistently speak about the political content on their platforms as it got closer and closer to the U. S election, and I think it finally had a turning point in the election week. I'm certainly after The Associated Press and other media outlets called the presidential race for from the vice President Joe Biden, now president elect, and we've yet to see President Trump. Conceded the race. And so even though for some, the election is over on the social platforms, it is still happening, and they're still trying to trying to figure out what moves they need to make so that their users are getting accurate information. Well, thanks for the lead up to that, because what the process now I guess where do they go from here? Well, we've reported today that Facebook and Google plan to continue banning political ads under platforms several weeks to prevent confusion about election. Results. That's according to people familiar with the matter in an e mail that we reviewed. They actually told advertisers and email Wednesday morning that it would continue the postelection ban on political ads for another month, and I'll just quote they said quote, while multiple sources have protected presidential winner. We still believe it's important to help prevent confusion or abuse on our platform. I might also add that Twitter's measures to limit the spread of ire ality are so continuing and our understanding is with Brazil municipal elections coming up later this month there no plan to On teams those measures yet and what I think we're all waiting for How long these changes that you need the platform that means specifically around addressing her algorithms and pulling down spread of potentially viral information, and it doesn't look like anything is immediate from our reporting, but they're also Not necessarily permanent move because of the resources, the manpower and on the fact that usually these companies take global approach isn't and this isn't a global post right now. It's pretty specific to the US election. I was gonna ask you when you when these companies take a look at monitoring this type of content isn't a breakdown equally of human resource is and computer algorithms to one does one way outweigh the other Generally, how does that work? What a great question. I wish I had a perfect answer for that. But we actually don't know too much because the companies don't share a whole lot about exactly what they're doing on the back end. That's something that a lot of disinformation researchers who are eager to try to measure whether you know their labels have much impact or weather slowing down the fire ality or changing algorithms. You know how that works, and whether it's helpful or not. And we can't really peek under the hood. Yet we did see the book put out a post earlier this week where it actually said 6% of their users information political on their platform, and it was the first time folks have seen that so we got kind of drips and drabs. Every now and then. Twitter has a little it does share it. If the FBI's the researchers can be a little bit more there. But generally we don't know the specifics of the moves that they're taking and how they were precisely. And so there isn't that much out there for the public, or even researchers who specialized on this topic to see or measure So one of the trends stemming from the election in light of what you're talking about is a growth in the interests of the social media site parlor and similar types of sites. What's the interest there? Why is their attention being paid to these sites? Well. Parlor was started about two years ago. And I kind of picture of itself is a free speech platform. We saw folks that were Trump supporters move over there, including a number of Republican lawmakers like Senator has head crews and others earlier this year, and it got even more attention when there was some They're reporting that President Trump and his campaign had talked about whether they could shift over there, giving the additional move that Twitter has been making soon after they started labelling his post in the middle of this year. So recently, parlor was actually one of the top. Download the free app that pretty much exploded in the past couple days. And at one point a few days ago. The platform is actually down because so much usage and so we're seeing a number of people move over the parlour and other friends, social media networks who feel that they are either being censored or that there isn't a natural flow of speech, and they can't They want to be able to say what they want to say and do what they want to Dio. And find that they might be moving other popular to get their. However, I would note that these platforms yourself action of the size of Facebook and Twitter. They don't have the same security measures, and so there's a lot to be desired. But there's

Wall Street Reacts to Biden-Harris Ticket

"Today Joe Biden and Kamala Harris made their first appearance together as running mates for the Democratic presidential ticket. CARMELA. As you all know is smart. She's tough. She's experienced. She's a proven fighter for the backbone of this country. The middle class for all those who are struggling to get into the middle class. Connell. Knows how to govern. She knows how to make the hard calls. She's ready to do this job on day one. After the most competitive primary in history. The country received a resounding message that Joe was the person to lead US forward. and. Joe. I'm so proud to stand with you. And I do so mindful. Of all the ROIC ambitious women before me. Who sacrifice determination and resilience makes my presence here today even possible. This is a moment. Of Real consequence for America, Harris's pick is historic and has prompted reactions from around the World Harris's father is Jamaican. Her mother is from India. She's the first black woman and the first woman of South Asian ancestry on a major party presidential ticket in the US Also, Reacting Wall Street. Financial leaders were anxiously awaiting Joe Biden's pick for vice president, our tech money and politics reporter Emily Glaser has been speaking to many of them and joins me now. So Emily you bet on the phone with business leaders all day. How would you characterize their reaction? This leaders are generally really happy that Comma Harris was chosen as Biden's VP pick for a couple of reasons. But basically, they view her as a pragmatic person or realist who while she has been tough on big. Business in the past looks at the nuance issues and takes each thing at a time versus having a blanket approach as you know, the wealthiest bad or big businesses bad. We've seen president trump and his campaign try to paint Senator Harris as a radical left wing Pick Wall Street doesn't seem to see it that way. Definitely not a lot of what I. Heard from folks on the phone text messages emails. But that she's moderate, she sent her even though people don't like using those words that much anymore and that's similar to how they think about Biden and a lot of the reasons why think financial leaders are happy and pleased and cheering on this Harris pick is that she does represent a move away from. The. Far Left Progressive Part of the Democratic Party the part that Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders. Are In and so they're relieved that you know things like more financial regulation or really taking back see right now it's all about economic recovery and harassed and Biden have said they think big business is good if the economy recovers and business recovers, that's good for. Everybody. You know it's interesting because after Biden made his announcement yesterday, we heard Praise from people like Senator Warren and Senator Sanders. We know Senator Harris has pledged to be tough on big banks as California Attorney General. She pushed for a big settlement with banks for their role in the foreclosure crisis. What about her record makes Wall Street thinks she's a moderate. It's a great question look like you said, she's touted her tough on banks record. But when you actually break it down, what folks in the financial community are saying is that she's made no secret that there's wrongdoing she will prosecute her background as a prosecutor, but it's also important to keep in mind that her big bank settlement was very nuanced and she did claim a lot of credit for it got brought a lot to. The State of California but we had reported earlier last year that she wasn't always really doing as much of the substance of the negotiations and she was doing a lot that solidified. The Big Bank settlement is helping her record as a politician. So when I spoke with bankers and financial executives last night and today they were saying look she's GonNa take swings at us. We get that it's politics. We're not gonNA take it personally. When there's wrongdoing you know she says she's going to prosecute. We got that but she's not going to have a blanket approach as all banks are bad or all wealthy people are bad. What were some of her other policies on the campaign trail and what do they tell us about her stance toward the financial industry. Healthcare was a really big wine and let's not forget healthcare with the most important issue on the campaign trail. Now, in coronavirus times, it's shifted more to economic recovery. But Harris struggled with this event she failed to really clearly state what her plan was initially, and then once she did she basically said she would have a government run health care plan that would still allow for private insurers an even mentioned that she proposed taxing financial transactions to pay for that. Health care overhaul. So that's something that certainly is out there would really impact the financial sector. Another one that was really big was her so called three. I'm agenda in the beginning of the primary when she was on the trail, she often would attack president trump a lot but she changed strategies partway through an efforts to really appeal more to the every man, every woman and the middle class and mentioned things like gender pay equality breezing teacher salaries and things. Like that that she hoped would get her more voters. She's also being welcomed warmly from the tech world. What can you tell us about that? You know, let's not forget that Kamla Harris has been a politician California in the bay area for a while she was district attorney. She was Attorney General She's been California senator since two thousand sixteen she knows tech executives in Silicon Valley and his raise money from them for her races for a number of years she. Also, lives part time in southern. California with her husband Doug Hav who is an corporate entertainment lawyer. So she's got these deep ties to the media telecom tech and entertainment world folks that have fundraise for her for years. They know her they think she's tough but fair and are very excited and already planning fundraisers now that she's the VP pick, she's also shown that she can raise big bucks from Wall Street donors. How might that help the Biden campaign overall? I think it will help double down on a lot of the money that they need. I saw an invite for recent fundraiser that has the high amount at two hundred and fifty thousand dollars. This is big money we're talking about a lot of the Biden fundraisers in recent weeks have raised millions while Harris and Biden do overlap on a lot of donors whether from the financial tech media entertainment world, a lot of them have known. Harris. For a really long time supported her during the primary and may be willing to give even more money than they already have to the Biden campaign now that she's on the ticket.

"Hong Kong is on its way to losing its autonomy China's legislature has now approved a plan to pass a sweeping new national security law president trump is warning of possible sanctions against China over its treatment of Hong Kong and in recent days the trump administration has blocked the sale of sensitive technology to Chinese companies and your Scott Horsley has more it seems like a lifetime ago but it was only back in January the president trump was celebrating a trade deal in which China promised by hundreds of billions of dollars worth of additional American goods we're delighted that the Chinese consumers will now enjoy the greater access to the best products on earth those may grown and raised right here in the USA hog farmers were among those who saw big opportunity China has lost much of his own pork production to an outbreak of African swine fever and Marie is he above the national pork producers council says American farmers were eager to fill the void so far though sales have fallen short of their potential unfortunately when the Chinese have the chance to buy pork they're going to go to where the price is low and even with the trade deal American pork still faces a much higher tariff in China than its global competitors exports of farm goods factory products and crude oil are all running far behind what was promised in the trade deal Syracuse University economist Mary lovely says those targets were always going to be a stretch and the corona virus has made things worse the world has changed and clearly China's purchases are going to be affected one because their demand collapsed secondly American supply collapsed in so you had sort of a double whammy on their reaching these purchase target last week foreign policy magazine ran a story headlined trump's China trade deal is as dead as can be White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow told fox business the deal is still alive but not as important to the president as it once was right now it's been a lot of miscues from China trump has been harshly critical of China over its handling of the pandemic China was slow to acknowledge the corona virus can spread from person to person still China appear to been much more successful than the US at controlling the outbreak you and soon had wrecked the China program at the Stimson center says Beijing reach trump's criticism as an effort to deflect from his own government's missed S. I think the Chinese reaction as wait a minute maybe we are responsible for part of it but for you to completely blame everything on us that's not fair Bernie Glaser of the center for strategic and International Studies has historically China has been cautious about sape flexing its muscle in Hong Kong because it wanted to maintain a working relationship with the U. S. but with both countries now throwing sharp elbows lasers as the brakes are coming off in my view the pandemic is really just an acceleration of the downward spiral in the relationship which now appears to me to be honest in free fall I don't know where the bottom is but I feel like we haven't reached it yet the trump administration has been ratcheting up its restrictions on exports of sensitive technology to China and its calls for reduced dependence on China for critical goods like medical supplies are growing louder glazier once there's so much anti China sentiment in the U. S. the relationship may suffer even if there's a new president in the White House next year both Biden and trump are trying to position themselves as being the toughest on China and nobody is is talking about what in this US China relationship needs to be preserved that's ominous for the kind of cooperation between the two countries the world needs to tackle challenges like climate change and the

"Glaser is a guy that when you put stuff out there I trusted that really turned me in the past when he talks about things that might have happened or might happen I think that he is on top of it so this is why when I read this story I believe that it works it was true so apparently according to Jay Glazer that before this season this upcoming NFL season Dave Gettleman was considering retiring but he didn't and he also had to go and convince management ownership there rather that he had a plan but basically as Jay Glazer says in these comments he's got one year to show that what he's done over the last couple years is working and if not it'll be some sort of mutual parting of ways are solid as a retirement or whatever but he's done if there aren't results here is the quote from Glaser I don't know full end up retiring but yeah I think it was close this year he made a case ownership to come back he presented a plan for how will turn it around in a year that needs to happen if it doesn't he'll be gone and rightfully so so there you go the clock is ticking on a Dave Gettleman's tenure as giants general manager if you don't see a real major improvements this year with the team yeah many goes on to say anytime you're on the hot seat you have to look inside yourself and say what's my responsibility in this and make changes I mean look at it it's a new coach she's got a second year quarterback he's drafted two terrific young players at the top of the draft the last two years he'll do the same thing if he doesn't trade out of there go for most likely attack all I would think or an edge rusher this year but I don't want to tell you they they tried to win with Eli manning his first year here anyone out and spent money and rebuilt the offense of line and it just fell flat on their face in the midst of all of that they had a disgruntled wide receiver that they had to pay the money to then they had their then they had the trade and then on on top of all of that he's been dealing with cancer so I I mean I can I can make the leap and say yeah he could have retired because of cancer he could a retired because of his age because they fired the coach said he hand picked and hired two years ago I mean there's a little there's a lot of that stuff that goes on in the NFL and I don't think anything that Jay is said here is surprising to me and as I read it it's it's just a lot of Bob his opinion it's not somebody within the organisation telling him this this is feels like you know you know he's on the hot seat because they had two losing seasons in a row under his guidance I get it sophomore is and everybody on the hot seat me on a phone these cases this is not the jets of last year by the way this is not Joe judge Dave Gettleman not getting along like Adam gase and that Mike macaque this this isn't an obvious take on something that is like right in front of all of our faces just that we have been talking about it simply because of everything else is gone sure but I do think that the ownership part of this like they knew that he had to really present a plan about how it's going to be turned around a year it is interesting to me at least because when they stuck with Gettleman moved on from Shurmur I I thought it was like all right you know he did the Dade government brought in Daniel Jones Dave Gettleman has a plan we're gonna stick with Dave Gettleman for as long as he wants to do this I really thought that they had made that decision to keep Dave Gettleman because they trusted him it wasn't sort of a all will give you one more year to figure it out type of deal I thought the day that it's got to be the coach are we gonna get the culture here someone has to pay for these horrible seasons will stick with Dave because he's had a couple of draft picks that we light I didn't I didn't believe that it was gonna be a one year trial after firing Shurmur you know it's it's to me it's it's all about John Marren his relationship with Eli manning you know they kept them too long they tried to make it work everybody felt the brunt of that and the guy who thought the biggest brunt of that you know of course was Pat Shurmur because he ended up losing his job you know and then when you read this article that that you know that quotes Jay Glazer then you wonder if the writer of the article is that making his own commentary when he says this is a dangerous spot for the giants to be and when general managers are on the hot seat they tend to make rash decisions the help the upcoming season not decisions that are good for the long term health of the franchise so so if he makes a decision for the long term health of the franchise yet they still have a losing record this you keep his job because he made a decision for the long term health of the fire franchise or does he get fired because he made a decision for the long term health of franchise I think that's how I know it always windows it's got here right I mean it's just it's it's and it's an impossible spot I mean you would hope that Dave Gettleman approaches this draft and if any traffic he's still here for with home this spring screen I'm sure okay yeah so somebody somebody is up but yes I would hope that every decision he makes in this draft in any other draftees thinking about the long term health of the franchise and isn't just a bandaid but I mean I I don't know how how what that's like in that situation as a general manager but I it seems to me that Dave Gettleman from the start of this after they got started late because they hung around for the Eli manning fare well or they tried to restart the franchise with the life of but every other decision made from there is a full and total rebuild sold through for departure from that would be silly I mean that that would make any sense just got to continue to slowly put the right pieces in place the Gettleman judge type of players that we've seen them bring and keep doing that and eventually hopefully for giants fans it turns around let's go to a G. O. in awhile who joins us he's either watching on CBS sports network or radio dot com what's.

"Oh God. There's so many things Nikki. You're so amazing. Truly your amazing and I realize I think you're such a great host listening to you. I've been like because I'm just I'm trying to get better at hosting and so I'm just wondering you've been hosting this whole show. Well no I love hosting and I take over sometimes but you are truly love your interview style. I loved the style of this podcast. And it's like so aspirational for me to have the same kind of conversational they like. It's great some Lacombe. Come back a lot yet okay. So I'M GONNA go to deal breakers. Okay Yeah let's do. Are you sure all right so dealbreakers? He goes to Disneyland once a month but doesn't have any kids. Not a deal breaker. Okay during to save you but I am curious. I've noticed that some men just really loved that place. It makes them so happy. It takes him back to his time as they were kid. Feel any kind of like inner child just enjoying your inner child and letting that thing even though it's stupid come out is okay as long as I don't have to be burdened by. Why do you think he wouldn't be burdened by it because if he has to go? We'll if we live close. I'm guessing we live close to this place. No not necessarily good flying. We once a month to go to him. Sorry that's right because you live in New York. Let's imagine that you live here in Los Angeles and once a month he needs to go to Disney yet. You don't live together. But yeah what does he do there? It depends but Moodysson. Sometimes he loves space mountain sometimes. He loves like Rocky Mountain Road or whatever that thing is yeah I don't mind. Sometimes he just likes to wander and like just smell it. Take it in because I'm gonNA smell. That reminds you of your child at. I think it's all related to his boyhood and I want any man to get on in there and root around in their boyhood so they can treat me better in the guy that's in touch with his feelings and a guy that goes to Disneyland. Once a month is not embarrassed to just be who he is. I like it next going. I was going to put up a strong counter argument but I can't. I can't get Nana okay now. I can't I can't okay The first time you guys start hooking up he says can I go down on you and then proceeds to go down and lick your toes. Does he eventually make it to my vagina? We let's linger toes for Gay and I signed a guy with a foot fetish. Okay okay but it's and that's really funny joke. If this were happening to me I would feel a whole myriad of simplistic feeling pranked. Feel slightly embarrassed. I would feel ticklish. I would also feel self conscious because yeah what conditioner my feet. And I didn't know they were going to have a mouth on them. Although in the Guy Lickin Feet Artie is in for whatever? You're GONNA give them. I was looking at this guy. Wants to take back Farris. Yeah if he's in your feet than he's into whatever you got cooking he's GonNa leg on the positive side of Yes that way. One time a guy. I was looking up with put his tongue in my ear and I was horrified because I didn't clean my ears. I was looking up later so I cleaned every hole literally. You know but my ear was discussing the next day. Put a Cuban and was like no no no big city but wasn't it probably like four different emotions thorough wasn't it also like why is doesn't Roddick. No not at all So why does it feel erotic to him but not at all to me like how how humans not have a collective experience on any little? That's what told me that he likes it. He was doing what he wants. He was lovling watching me. But you didn't like him. None except the I hated it ear cleaning. No because I was like I'm GONNA get swimmers ear from this shit. You're getting water in there and it makes it. Did you tell them? Did you know I just kind of like moved on? I moved on to other things that were what at. What age do you think you were able to tell a guy like this is what I like? I hope forty three hoping to get to that point at that age. That'd be nicely are tie because I am padded him in. Don't you think to attempt to figure out what pleases a man and men are probably socialized? Maybe to figure out what pleases a woman. But the fact that there's this Gulf it with in the heterosexual world. You're so right about that like we aren't it's so hard to communicate but like wine is it. I. We both don't know what each other's body parts are like so we should ask for help. I'm so confused a lot of times but my problem is even as a woman. I don't even know my own needs sometimes so like. I don't even know what to ask for because I feel like sometimes I'm so out of touch with my own body and then I also feel like if a guy tells me what to do I might do it and still be bad and then what oh no so sometimes I just feel like I'm I'm just winging it it's just as all of this is so confusing. I'm so awkward about sex. It's like I am so tired of men being the ones that get to come and get to have sexual pleasure in the women aren't and this isn't every man. Obviously men listening. I know there's so many of you that like try to figure this out and you can't and I'm even telling you sometimes I don't even know what I want. So it's a nightmare to even begin to try to understand sometimes but I do feel like there's so many times as young women that like you'll be making out with the guy that will just take out and then you just like field obligated to do something to him because he's like oh it's peanuts time and you're like wait what it's like. I think we're all just so confused and that a man's needs always come first and we just they're setting the tone there kind of deciding what's next and it's like you. Just that's what I fear about hooking up even now as a thirty five year old woman is like I'm going to do something I don't WanNa do because a guy is gonna make me feel pressured to do it. I would have loved for my first. Boyfriend Brent. Yeah to have said honey brunches such cute name to said to me listen okay. I know that were in high school. I had this appendage that I know you don't have the gets really swollen and is irritating because it just needs to be paid attention to s so. That's my ideal. What's your deal yet has a good. What do you want to play with? You WanNa Stretch. Give it a whirl. My God it's all I can think about. It's really taking up all night. Attention yes That would be so good. Could just have that kind of discourse about it. I remember the first time an ex boyfriend and like looked at my lake was just really just studying. It and I was like so turned on that he was like interested in like learn. Like what is this it will. There's all kinds of foods and fascination here most guys hook up there just like in the dark there. They never look at it and try to understand it I mean I don't even sometimes when organizers and we work together I know that gender to control the whole fucking thing I know they are so stupid about their fucking dicks. Oh it gets every powerful smart man into trouble. Is this God Damn Deck? So that is where that's where we need to focus energetically we got the. That's I've been seeing on stage to. It's like that's why I struggle with letting go of being fuck -able that's my big thing because when you're fuck Qabail you control men you have a one up on men because men WanNa fuck you and so they they are weaker around you and when you lose that you lose the ability to weaken a man in steal from him and that is what I like I want because how else do you get. Control fucking everything you know what gets respect in our business is having money and success and a lot of times you can get those things once you've reached a certain level of success and power and then you can maintain it but if you haven't achieved it yet in your own fuck -able it's like how do you get it but isn't trick them but is there like this because as an outsider in the stand up world. Isn't there this sense of like there's a club? Is there a different language of rigging another male and female comedians? Yeah we I try. I get along. I don't think of myself. I never thought of myself as a female comic until I just got asked about it a lot and I'm so fucking proud to be a female comic because we're different than male comics. What propels us to do. It is different than men. Doing what do you think that is what do you mean I mean for me? At least it's not feeling like I'm beautiful enough. 'cause I would wish I could just get by on my looks and like being actress or not even actors. I'm bad at acting but like be a model. God I feel like it would and I'm not even gonNA modeling. I've even said that before. It's a job that I couldn't do but I've always resented not being pretty enough because I grew up with a pretty. It's this is all my full show. But what propels men get back from being funny? Intelligence and women are very charged. Two funny men. Men Are not attracted to actually funny women. They appreciate a funny woman they can laugh at a funny woman but they don't WanNa fuck funny woman and there are exceptions but they are few and far between and the science backs this up. There's an article I read called. Why men don't like funny women and it lay and because it's a sign of intelligence to it. I brought this article in. I was crying. I was like what I thought was really like. I'm funnier than these men. And they don't like it and I don't like it either. By the way I like to laugh in a relationship Nikki. Glaser three sad news listener. I was like do you want to hear about a climate change report just to brighten the mood and the funny lemon corona no men. This is what the study found. I swear to God. So many women defy like say they look for the same offences opposite sex right. I looks second sense of humor. We list the same things in order however yes which is good however men and women define sense of humor in the opposite sex completely differently women to find men having sense of humor as a man a man who makes them laugh men to find women with a sense of humor as a woman who laughs at their jokes. That is the disconnect so bent if you laugh a lot men think you're funny gambler yet because we've been socialized to be the Gay Clair's you've been the GIG lawyer. I saw you in lost in translation. You were classic. Bigler that girls so funny. No she's not she just laughs at fucking everything. A man says in men thinks she's funny. Yeah if you were the GIG LURGI. That's a classic example. I'm GonNa give now when I cite this study because that is a character like you nailed it will the sociological idea. Though which I find fascinating is that are. We conditioned at some point to to truly be the audience members and that makes a man feel good or at least this is how am like. I'm good survival technique. Laugh a man make him feel good. He'll protect you more time and famine. It's all based on these instincts of like we'll build a man up. Be Quiet and we've been talking lately about how I'm starting a Cassie and Michael. About how in so many scripts men? Don't ask questions because it's a like if you ask a question that means you don't know both their studies of like men how women always asking questions. Yeah and right because we have to be like well. That's what I find on dates men. Don't fucking ask anything about me. Right right they never actually scripts are just representative of what actual men do. But I'm not shirts their fault because on fucking socialized things are Allen's fault girl. I I talked about this on stage like Shitsu Dino this like so it treading water that I love because men. I'm not even mad about men about any of this shit because everyone's blown away they are. If I was born that way I would be the same fucking way so. I'm not mad about it but we need to acknowledge it. It's fucked lights and there's like a guy will come on my radio show..

"Sometimes it would because you don't know which one to go for don't do the move where you're going for the opposite ones which lineup. Touch. Have someone's wet lips on you, not great not even chic. The cheek is a lot knowing it's annoying of lips on your cheek. It's just like you don't want it. But but yet now that I think about it. It's just it's happens less. What about hugs, which your take on Hugs hug? thing. There's some people like there's one person right now. He's like right here that I don't wanna hug, and he always hugs. And I ate hugging him, and it's harder to just not hug because of the smell or because of the don't like him. And he knows it and same thing as armed girl. Just trying to get me. I want her to like me. So this guy always goes for a hug just because I think he knows that I'm repulsed by him. And I don't like seeing him and I try to avoid him. And there's certain guys like that. And it feels like a power move in. It's also the same reason. I don't do. I'm like easing from meet-and-greet s- after my show, unless they're like a VIP paid for thing. A lot of money. You don't even want them money. I want to donate it like, I don't. It's just a way to weed people out who are gonna who don't wanna picture because actually you take a thousand pictures after shows over a weekend of shows and three people post them. I'm sorry. You didn't want the picture posted? You're not you don't want it. What do you do you? What what you're doing? Then is waiting for me to die. So then you can post. I best friends. She told me to follow my dreams. Taking pictures with comedians recently in being like, oh, remember you have this when they die. I'm not even joking you because two comedians of died recently. And you just see oh that person got a good picture with them. They get to post that one. I'm not I'm not saying that that is why I don't like when anyone dies or that. There's a silver lining to it. Because you get the post, but people love posted pictures with dead people having a connection to a dead person anything. So that is pretty much. Why I'm taking those pictures after shows a realist, which isn't a terrible reason. So we're trying to say is if you have a cough, come to come see Nikki Glaser show. Yeah. Oh, no. That's not. That's gonna take me out. Are you kidding me? A cough. I don't go. No, I'm saying because they're going to die. Oh there. Oh, right. I'm not gonna post the picture..

"Because simply they're under staffed they say there aren't enough clinicians to go round, which means the current staff at Kaiser is overbooked an HMO patients are waiting at times more than a month to get access to therapy appointments or are being sent out of network. World AIDS Day: A look back at the AIDS evolution in the US

"A testament to how much progress you're making in the fight. That's a great point the world. Aids day is on Saturday and the whole point of that is to reflect on where we are in battling this global pandemic. It's been many many years and back in the day. It was day. We knew it was a great deal of fear. We didn't have the tools the medicines. And so on. And what you're referring to is tremendous progress over the last ten years marks. For example, we've reduce the number of new infections in children by half over the last ten years what we're concerned about now though. Is a little bit of complacency a sense that it's not somehow some people imagine that we're in the last chapter or even that aids is over aids is not over not in the United States and not around the world. And we're seeing a spike in new infections, including among young people. It's very worrying. And so we have to take very specific steps to address that challenge. Yeah. That's kind of bad news part of it is because you've had the success fighting people now think well now, it's not a problem, or if I did it it's very simple and and everything else. So you've the fear factor in many ways has kind of been a switch, which is good. But the reality is people think they're immune to it or are not gonna get it. I wanna know from that standpoint moving forward where are the areas that there still are concerns that we need to to fight and be aware of to where we can get to the point where it's almost a radical. Great question. I you know, where HIV is most a burden highest rates of infections, and so on across sub Saharan Africa. But there's a danger there. Also, just sort of pointing over there the problems over there. It exists. Also in the United States is over one point one million people, according to the centers for disease control who had HIV in the United States only about half of them have have really suppressed their infection, which means risk of getting aids. It exists in Colorado. And so the steps that we need to take where its most severe in sub Saharan Africa. That's where the Elizabeth Glaser pediatric aids foundation. We're working across nineteen countries. We need to do a better job of engaging. Young people we need to think differently. We need to provide services differently. We need to address the stigma. They can attach to someone saying I'm going to get an H. V test. But also, you know in Colorado and enter your viewers. The most important thing is that people be tested know their status and someone may be thinking right now, I'm not worried about that. I have no reason to take tests that that's great, but friends and family and people can be reticent to seek out an HIV test. And yet there is HIV in Colorado. And so the steps to be taken our support the work that is going on in those countries most heavily burdened by but individuals families, friends communities also can make sure that they know their status, and they're doing everything they can to stop new infections could a pet aids dot ORG.
