"We're talking about this Anthony blinken story or now Secretary of State back when he was a campaign executive for the Biden 2020. Presidential run helped set in motion the events that led to those 51 official signing the letter saying that the Hunter Biden laptop story was Russian disinformation, obviously that was a lie. President Biden knew it was a lie, Anthony blinken knew it was a lie. The 51 intelligence officials knew that it was a lie. You know, back when that guy in Delaware made a copy on a hard drive of the contents of Hunter Biden's laptop and gave it to Rudy Giuliani, he also gave it to the FBI. For those who are unaware of what I'm talking about, the whole origin of the Hunter Biden laptop story is that hunter went to a laptop repair store in Delaware, and there was a terms of service at that store that said, if you don't pick up your product after a certain amount of time, it becomes the property of the store owner. Hunter Biden, no shock there, forgot about his laptop or didn't pick it up. And it became property of the Delaware store owner who made a copy of a hard drive, gave it to Rudy Giuliani, Trump's lawyer, and also to the FBI. So the FBI could pretty much figure out within about 5 seconds whether or not the Hunter Biden laptop contents were indeed correct or were indeed valid. I mean, it doesn't take long to validate the legitimacy of some emails. It really is a scandal. You know, we think about president Nixon and Watergate, or we think about some of the improprieties of past presidents..

"YA Trump criminal referral by the January 6th committee would be so historic by Brian Bennett. Donald Trump is, once again, poised to make history. No former president has ever been the subject of a criminal referral from Congress, and that could change this week. The house January 6th committee is set to hold its final meeting on Monday, one in which it could vote on whether to refer Trump to the Department of Justice for criminal prosecution for his involvement in trying to overturn the results of the 2020 election and encouraging the violent attempt to stop the January 6th certification of Joe Biden's election when. The referral and the documentation supporting it would then likely be handed to special counsel Jack Smith, who attorney general Merrick Garland appointed last month to take over criminal investigations involving Trump. It will be up to Smith to ultimately decide whether to bring charges. The expected vote to recommend prosecution op Trump would be a climax to the committee's 18 month investigation, which involved over 1000 interviews, the gathering of over a million documents and ten public hearings. The committee is also finalizing a public report that could be released as soon as next week. The committee is also finalizing a public report that could be released as soon as this week. The committee voted in October to subpoena Trump to testify, but Trump refused to appear. The committee is also considering criminal referrals for people who allegedly helped Trump try to overturn the election results by creating fake slates of electors, such as former Justice Department official, Jeffrey Clark, Trump's former White House chief of staff, Mark Meadows, attorney John eastman, and Rudy Giuliani, Trump's former personal attorney. The referrals would be largely symbolic, but experts say that symbolism and the evidence behind it can still carry a lot of weight. Symbols are a hugely important, says Deborah Perlin, the policy director for citizens for responsibility and ethics in Washington, who argues a criminal referral of Trump would frame a discussion around the deadly attack on the capitol and the events that preceded it. It can help prevent and counteract misinformation and disinformation in the society that we thrive in, Perlin says. Because you can point to something authoritative, coming from Congress that says that this happened, that there needs to be accountability. And that says that criminal prosecution is the path that needs to be taken, moving forward. If the committee votes to send criminal referrals, it means they figured that writing a report wasn't enough, says Timothy naftali, a presidential historian at New York University, and a former director of the Richard Nixon presidential library and museum. Donald Trump's the only president to have ever tried to overturn an election. Naftali continues.

"Been compromised. As a candidate, Donald Trump vowed to safeguard classified material. In my administration, I'm going to enforce all laws concerning the protection of classified information. No one will be above the law. But now under investigation himself, he's changing his tune and his arguments. At first denouncing the raid is a political witch hunt, but then claiming that he had declassified the documents found at Mar-a-Lago anyway. Some of which were marked SCI that means from the most sensitive U.S. intelligence sources. Trump's also claiming that the FBI agents seized three of his passports during the raid, ABC News confirmed that's true, but all three have been returned and two were already expired. Amid a tax on the FBI by Trump and other Republicans, there has been an increase in threats and acts of violence towards law enforcement, including a Pennsylvania man who was charged Monday for threatening law enforcement officials in the days after the Mar-a-Lago raid, riding in one post, my only goal is to kill more of them before I drop. Meanwhile, in Georgia, in an unrelated investigation into Trump's effort to overturn the 2020 election. Prosecutors in Fulton county have notified Rudy Giuliani. Trump's lawyer in that battle that he is the target of an investigation there. That is typically one of the final stages before someone is indicted. Rudy Giuliani, former president Trump's personal attorney, who was challenging the 2020 election results, is now the target of an investigation by Georgia prosecutors who are looking into possible criminal activity surrounding those who tried to overturn those results. ABC News has learned that Giuliani is scheduled to testify tomorrow, but is pushed back on the investigation and his claim without evidence that Atlanta is a city known for corruption. ABC's Aaron koterski also says that South Carolina senator Lindsey Graham has also been called to testify but says he is not cooperating. Lindsey Graham says that because he's a sitting U.S. senator, he shouldn't have to participate, although a judge there has already overruled that said this has nothing to do with him being a senator. It has everything to do with him being a mouthpiece for allies of the former president who were trying to overturn the results of the Georgia vote. And we know that Lindsey Graham was on the phone, the judge said trying to question the integrity of the Georgia vote, questioning some of the ballots and the electors and clearly the prosecutors in Fulton county and metro Atlanta want to explore that a little bit with him. "To challenge Donald Trump in 2020. Donald Trump is worried about running against Joe Biden. He thinks that Biden will be his strongest opponent. You can tell he's really scared. And he and his allies become fixated on looking for the thing that will bring Joe Biden down. Every time Joe Biden was named point men, the Biden family made millions. And they start closely scrutinizing Hunter Biden. Ukraine, point man, the kid makes $8 million, specifically Rudy Giuliani, Trump's lawyer, here's from some associates of his that there may have been something shady about hunters Ukraine work for the company burisma they claim. Marisa holding limited and its direct to hunt a Biden are involved in corruption affair. And then it lays out a stone cold money laundering situation that he was involved in for $14.6 million. They said that they had heard that Joe Biden, while he was vice president, had helped get the top prosecutor in Ukraine fired. Joe Biden willing to fire the prosecutor by threatening the Ukrainian government with millions of dollars in aid if they don't get rid of the guy investigating his son. A billion. Give me a break, Sean. Now this was never corroborated or proven in any way. And in fact, it doesn't seem to hold up to the facts at all. This was a United States policy to push out this prosecutor general. It wasn't anything limited to or specific to Joe Biden. There were various reasons to push him out. They thought he wasn't prosecuting enough corruption, but Trump became obsessed that this would prove Joe Biden's corruption. And that is when he had his famous phone call with Ukraine's at the time new president volodymyr zelensky. I just released transcript of a phone call shows president Trump asking Ukrainian president zelensky to investigate his political rival former vice president Joe Biden. And in this call, the president repeatedly stresses how much the U.S. does for Ukraine and then he says, quote, I would like you to do us a favor. That, of course, started a chain of events that led to Donald Trump's first impeachment when all of this became public and it.

"And around that time, if there is sufficient evidence to suggest that Trump committed crimes that are prosecutable, then I think the committee will make a referral to the Justice Department. But yeah, I think the big caveat is they only want to do that if they think a prosecution could be an open and shut case. So I think unless they have overwhelming evidence, they won't want to do that. They don't want to, because they don't want to do is to kind of let it linger, right? What happened with mama was mala was like, oh, you may have committed a crime. Trump may not have committed a crime, but I'm just going to leave it up to Bill Barr, right? And the problem with that was, no one really conclusively knew what the situation was at the time and it dragged on and obviously Trump was never prosecuted for what Marla said will potential criminal charges. Captain of justice, like ten counts of I mean, isn't that enough? Well, by mala didn't spell it out and say, you know, he violated the law. He only said in a hearing in the I think he was a House judiciary hearing afterwards that Trump could be prosecuted after he left office because of the OLC memo, which is a really kind of roundabout way of saying yes, he should be prosecuted, but I'm not going to do it because of various reasons of bureaucracy. And so that's what they want to avoid. They're only going to make a criminal referral, I think, against Trump if they haven't opened the shop case, and they have overwhelming evidence that would push Merrick Garland to take that final step. So I think it's still up in the air. Wow. Well, you go, thank you so much for coming on. I know you have to run. Are you going to be on MSNBC today? Not today. I have to travel next week's going to be a very busy week. I'm trying to track down a number of leads up and down the east coast in New York and D.C.. And then the committee is probably going to have some news next week. And then House Democrats are having a conference in Philly, so it's just a crazy week and just trying to get my ducks in a row, but I just wanted to be on your show today and oh no. And I really do appreciate it. And my last question because I just wanted to follow up with what you just said. If they wait until the fall, though, right before the midterms, if they do find real strong evidence against who knows, against Giuliani Trump, boulevard, who knows. Wouldn't it then look like all they just say in this because the midterms are coming..

they're investigating the attack on the capitol 6 subpoenas focus on people who are not accused of taking part in the attack itself Instead they are of interest for what they said beforehand Michael Flynn called for a military coup John eastman wrote a memo urging vice president Mike Pence to reject the results of a democratic election The house panel includes Adam Schiff of California These are people who played pivotal roles at the very top of the Trump campaign who have knowledge about the big lie that the election was stolen or rigged or fraudulent somehow that resulted in that violent insurrection And in order to do a comprehensive report we really need to hear from them NPR congressional reporter Claudia grisales joins us now Claudia good morning Good morning Steve Okay so we heard Michael Flynn's name John eastman's name Who else gets subpoenaed here They include three officials who worked on Trump's 2020 reelection campaign They are ex manager Bill stepien Trump adviser Jason Miller and ex campaign aide Angela McCallum In addition the panel issued a subpoena for Bernard kerik He's the former New York police commissioner who went to federal prison for tax fraud among other charges but was later pardoned by Trump Oh interesting He's close to Rudy Giuliani Trump's lawyer during the effort to overturn the democratic election How does these 6 people fit into the larger story as the committee sees it Congressman shift told me Trump's 2020 reelection campaign was part of this larger effort to urge states to delay or deny the certification of electoral vote I also talked to another member of the panel last night California Democrats lofgren who said this is not just about the day of January 6th but the weeks prior The individuals who have been sent subpoenas today were from other reports heavily involved in the lead up to the riot For example eastman wrote that memo that you mentioned about outlining the ways that former vice president Pence could reject Joe Biden's electoral count victory in the committee says he was also part of a meeting with several high profile Trump allies including Bernard Carrick and Jason Miller at the Willard hotel the night before January 6th weighs on how to overturn the election's result Finally Michael Flynn who lawmakers say was part of a December 2020 Oval Office meeting where the seizure of voting machines and invoking a national emergency came up So a lot of their actions are already known Some of them took place in public more or less but are these witnesses likely to talk to the committee That remains to be seen the panel is still negotiating with others who have received subpoenas already But both lawford and Schiff noted the panel was talked to more than a 150 witnesses voluntarily already They also highlighted the case of Steve Bannon who defied a panel subpoena outright and now faces a referral for contempt of Congress Bannon of course defy the subpoena over claims of executive privilege I talked to a former House impeachment attorney about this norm eisen who noted all 6 of these new witnesses are in Bannon's shoes They were not part of the administration on January 6th So that means that the kinds of claims of official executive privilege that we've already seen bandied about are going to be at their weakest when it comes to these individuals So that's a reminder that this panel could take additional steps such as criminal contempt referrals if these witnesses decide to follow in Bannon's lead Claudia thanks so much Thanks for having me That's NPR congressional reporter Claudia grisales At a climate summit this month one of the biggest surprises has come from India whose prime minister promised greater action against climate change Maybe that's not such a surprise when you think about how India is already affected by a changing climate right global warming has only intensified that country's widespread environmental damage This week alone India has had to deal with deadly floods toxic smog and poisoned rivers NPR's correspondent in Mumbai as Lauren freyr hey Lauren Hi Steve What's gone wrong this week Well huge swaths of Chennai a big city in southern India population about 10 million are underwater buses have been submerged thousands of people evacuated Now it's normal for Chennai to get monsoon rains this time of year What's not normal is the volume we're seeing And that's just one of many environmental crises India is juggling this week And you have to look at the north of Indiana Okay well let's talk about that What's happening So the yamuna river in New Delhi today is coated with toxic foam This is something that happens as India develops its rivers are filling with industrial waste In this case it's ammonia literally poison foam is bubbling up from the water This is a river that's considered holy to Hindus and people still bathe in it lots of them get sick They also get sick from breathing the air the Taj Mahal you know famous monument in northern India is basically invisible today from afar It's shrouded in smog This is from industrial and vehicular emissions basically from burning fossil fuels which exacerbates climate change The air quality across much of northern India today is four times the safe limit Most Indians can not afford air purifiers and nearly 1.7 million deaths in India are attributed to air pollution every single year And that's not the broader longer term effects of climate change that's pollution now that stuff people are breathing This now But climate change can make these things worse Certainly makes the flooding worse How does all of this how is all of this effective at all when the prime minister of Indian Narendra Modi goes to Scotland and promises to cut India's net emissions down to zero So prime minister Modi pledged to get the ball rolling to do that by 2070 so that's 20 years after the U.S. has pledged to hit that goal in ten years after China And the reason it's later is that Indian officials believe they say that they have they deserve time to develop any abrupt shift to renewables would probably hurt economic growth here that can literally cost lives in a poor country like India So the transition has to happen gradually I spoke this morning with bad wall She's an Indian climate change expert I actually caught her by phone at the UN climate summit in Glasgow And she says yes India needs to develop but it's actually hitting a wall doing that because of climate change So take the for example the flooding in Chennai this week she says From one hand we are talking about changes in the rainbow patterns and heavy precipitation incidences on the other hand it's about development also in male development where we choked our brain and system There's no place for the water to drain out And therefore the entire system is collapses So she says most Indian cities are examples of this urbanization Indian style has actually exacerbated the effects of climate change Well Lauren thanks so much always a pleasure hearing from you You're welcome NPR's Lauren freire and Mumbai.

I will let you know you've seen the criticism of general milley about this. He hasn't offered any public comment about it. If general milly could answer the criticism. He's been getting about this. What would you expect him to say. Well i'm not going to guess about what he might say. I we know from our reporting what happened a meal. You have to understand what this day was. It was four days before the election. October thirtieth and intel sensitive intelligence shows that the chinese think we're going to launch an attack on them now. This is the worst moment for somebody in the military because if the is millie tells his senior staff If that were the case if they think we're going to attack them they might launch. What milley told the senior staff would be a pearl harbor on us. So he moves to protect the country and You know. I think that at the center of all of this. We should say The reporting we did shows that everything millais did was to protect the country. The idea that he committed treason. is totally unsupported by I mean there. There's just nothing in our reporting and when he says to generally headed the chinese military if we are going to attack you. I will call you but in the context. If you read read. I was gonna suggest you read. Page one twenty nine because the whole lancer is there saying not that he's gonna tip him off but the tensions will build up. This is the way it always happened in history. And then he said we're not we're not gonna have a fight and General lee Says i accept it. I believe it and every step all these calls all milley's actions now. He's gonna testify Later this month. I mean thank god. We have congress which will Make an effort to get to the bottom of this and let him explain why he did things but are reporting zero evidence absolutely zero evidence of some sort of treason or the idea of doing something not in the interest of protecting the country. This is a man who devoted his entire life to the united states military and You know he's he's going to have to answer for himself but If people like donald trump who've said oh what milly did if this is true. This is treason I think when everything comes out about all of this and we we get the facts on the table. A lot of people who've accused milly of treason are going to be apologizing to millie because they have mis-read what happened and they have missed. Read the extent to which he is committed his life decade after decade. Now did he make are some things unclear as been that the testimony before congress that he's going to give i guess it's on the twenty seventh Can be some of the most important testimony given to congress in decades. I think you have other reporting in the book about another congressional investigation. That's underway right now. And that is the investigation of january sixth attack on the capital. And this or you have reporting on. Kevin mccarthy's phone call to donald trump during the attack on the capital. This is from the book. Where you have a kevin mccarthy calling donald trump saying you've got to get up and tell these people stop. I am out of the capital. We've been run over. Mccarthy said he was intense someone just got shot. Put a tweet out. trump said. I've never seen anything like this. Carthy said you've got to tell them to stop. You've got to tell get them out of here. Get them out of here now. he never asked about mccarthy's safety and one remark stood out. Well kevin. i guess. These people are more upset about the election than you are. Robert costa. That's a conversation that the investigative committee about january sixth wants to get even more detail on the. There's so much in this book that is of interest to that committee Kevin mccarthy has kind of changed his tune about all this since then. What is your reporting. Indicate we would learn if kevin mccarthy was put under oath in that hearing room in that investigation. What bob woodward in i found is that kevin mccarthy the house minority leader in leader mcconnell in the senate. They're kind of the surface of the republican party. But that isn't the whole story. Look at january fifth. We discovered that. Steve bannon the former white house. Strategist was there at the willard. Hotel blocks from the white house with rudy. Giuliani having almost war room type meeting with other trump allies the eve before the january six insurrection and president trump calls into this willard hotel former war room to talk to giuliani to talk to bannon and ban had actually been in close touch with president trump for days before january six based on our reporting you privately told president trump to have a reckoning on january six. Then he said to the president. It's time to kill the biden presidency in the crib. you can't get more visceral than that. But the intertwining roles abandoned giuliani trump allies on the outside who are at the rally at the white house. That's a story beneath the story of mccarthy and mcconnell both important dynamics to understand and we try to lay them out seen by seeing. There's so much more. I want to get to that. We won't get to hear. Just tip of the iceberg elements like bill bars campaign advice to donald trump long extensive conversations about the presidential campaign very surprising from an attorney general advising president on that. But there's another whole section of the book which is about someone else. Which is about joe biden and bob woodward that makes this the first trump book that constantly is cutting to sanity. It's cutting from the madness of the trump white house to the sanity and the stability of what joe biden brings to both the presidential campaign and then the white house. The biden story begins a year and a hat with a year and a half left in the biden vice presidency. One beau biden dies on may thirtieth two thousand fifteen and on page thirteen. You tell the story. Joe biden was devastated. This is going to be very tough time for me personally. Biden told stephen shetty his chief of staff for nearly thirty three for nearly three years and another principal in biden's political brotherhood. The only way. I'm going to be able to get through this. He said and we'll be able to get through this as a family is. If we just you know you have to keep me working and busy. Ready loved by the resilience. The generosity the friendliness of biden said he needed to work. He knew how to keep the vice president. Busy schedule action for shutting later reflected to others that sometimes it sounds almost cruel but keeping busy meant taking another hard look out of presidential campaign and bob woodward there's so much in there that is so different from trump world and steve machete is one of a cast of several devoted career. Long devoted people working for joe biden. Who love him run. Clain others in this book that kind of support character around. Donald trump doesn't exist the person who's been with him for a long time who loves him..

"This question comes in an email from evelyn who writes. I hope you can comment on the hearing regarding the lawsuit in michigan. I listened to a good bit of it today. In my unqualified opinion. The complainant's legal team is using defense. Much like the president and his cronies us in the court of public opinion. It reminds me of the. Because i said so reason. My parents used to give when they didn't feel like arguing. So you call yourself unqualified to render an opinion but your opinion is pretty. Good here evelyn. Of course you're talking about the hearing that took place on monday of this week relating to a sanctions issue against sydney powell and lynnwood and some other of trump's election lawyers who brought a series of lawsuits around the country including in detroit in federal court over alleged voter fraud in those elections seeking to overturn those elections. As you know by now every single one of those suits say perhaps one depending on how you consider. It failed and failed. Miserably and lawyers for detroit are seeking sanctions against trump's election lawyers on the grounds that they didn't obey ethics rules in bringing those suits and so the preceding lasted a pretty long time. I think upwards of six hours. So congratulations on getting through a lot of it and the basic question that the district court judge judge linda parker ass was quote shouldn't attorney be sanctioned for his or her failure to withdraw allegations. The attorney came to know were untrue. Is that sanctionable behavior. The judge also sort of answered run questioned at one point in the hearing when she said quote. I don't think i've ever seen an affidavit. That makes so many leaps. This is really fantastical. So my question to council here is how could any of you as officers of the court. Present this affidavit. The judge also made the point that the lawsuit and the affidavits attached to the lawsuit should have been withdrawn. When electoral college confirmed biden's victory on december fourteenth of last year. The judge asked. Why do the plaintiffs not recognize this lawsuit as moot and dismiss it on that date and as you point out evelyn time after time after time the lawyers had no answer with the possible exception of lynnwood who said repeatedly and somewhat humorously to my ear that he had nothing to do with drafting the complaint. He said it again and again. I nothing do with drafting the complaint. I was involved with it in any way. Raises the question. Of course. why was his name on the complaint. he didn't ask for it to be withdrawn. There was a debate back and forth about whether or not lynnwood had given permission to use his name and then there was another discussion about whether or not lynnwood in some other proceeding in some other jurisdiction in some other court had boasted that he had been involved in the detroit litigation. All in all it was a bit of a circus and a bit of a mess. So i'll make a couple of quick comments. I think it's clear that the judge will impose some kind of sanction here. it could be a monetary sanction. it could be referral to bar authorities and the irony here is the donald trump got away with lying again again and again and public forums at rallies on television in print interviews and there was not much than anybody could do about it and his lawyers may actually face some penalty for engaging in that kind of lying or misrepresentation by omission. For doing those same things in court. We've already seen the rudy giuliani. Trump's one of trump's lawyers has had his bar license suspended in two different jurisdictions in here. You have lynnwood and sydney powell and others by the way the other interesting thing is some of the representations made by sydney powell and the other lawyers in the election cases were so outrageous and so far fetched that the trump team itself distance. Themselves from cindy powell. That's a red flag. If you ever saw one before but importantly i want to mention again a distinction the joyce vance and i talked about on the cafe insider podcast and that is it is one to make know creative farfetched legal arguments to try to get a lot of fit some claim that you have. Maybe it's a claim that's never been made before articulated in a particular way before that's probably not generally going to be sanctionable so claims it clearly seemed to go against settled law or statute or constitutional provisions. Although they be sort of out of left field generally speaking the consequence of that is you just lose your case on. The other hand was being focused on here is time after time. After time factual assertions were being made in affidavits and otherwise there were not just not backed up but as a judge points over and over again there was literally no vetting of claims it on their face should have been challenged by good faith lawyers in. That didn't happen here. By the way by the end of the hearing sydney powell who is not in good standing with this judge and this court double down on the submissions. That were made she said quote. We have practiced law with the highest standards. And then she says and this is kind of remarkable stroz. she doesn't know how to read the room quote. We would file these same complaints again. We welcome an opportunity to prove our case no has ever given us that opportunity and quote that seems to have been an error so the original crack lawyers did not do a great job in representing donald trump's campaign and the lawyers of the crack lawyers hired also did not do a great job in connection with this proceeding earlier this week and perhaps my favorite comment of all was a tweet posted by lawyer bradley. Moss who wrote quote all of the lawyers in the hashtag cracking hearing oh.

"S Intelligence Agency says Russian President Vladimir Putin directed efforts to try to swing last year's election in Donald Trump's favor. The report also concluded that China did not try to interfere that runs counter to claims by the Trump campaign that China was trying to get. Joe Biden elected NPR national security correspondent Greg My rejoins us now for more Heidrick. Hi, Lisa. So start off with Russia. What was the interference campaign Russia mounted last year, according to this report, And what what did it do compare it to what it did when Trump was running against Hillary Clinton in 2016. Yeah, sure. So. The key element in the 2020 campaign, according to this report, is that Russia was using proxies people who had ties to individuals in Trump's orbit. They cited a few examples and I'll mention one here. They named Andre Dirk Koch. Now he's a Ukrainian lawmaker who Is a blood accused of having ties to Russian intelligence. Now we know he met with Rudy Giuliani, Trump's former lawyer. Giuliani is not mentioned in the report. But we do know just from public of what we've seen publicly. Both of these men were spreading these unsubstantiated claims that Biden and his son, Hunter, Biden, were somehow involved in corruption in Ukraine. And and so this, the report is saying, This is the kind of thing that that Russia was up to. Now it is a contrast to 2016 back back. Then the Russians hacked Democratic Party emails and they waged this big social media campaign. US was very un prepared at that point really caught off guard. So I think the U. S. Was much more prepared both of from a national security standpoint, and from the public's perspective as well in this likely led the Russians to take a different approach last year. So we should know that. The report also says that while Russia did interfere, there's no indication that Russia or any country try to actually alter votes or voter registrations. So what impact did the interference have? Well, but probably not much in terms of the mechanics of voting is because this was a foreign intelligence report. They're not trying to look at the behavior of US voters. But they are making the point very clearly that there was no evidence that a foreign country in any way manipulated voter rolls or actual vote voter counting. So if you take this in tandem with what we've heard from U. S officials who said the election was secure and did not have any fraud, they really show that we had a pretty safe election. There's no evidence that they're the election was Was riddled with any any sort of fraud. The report also says that the leader of Iran authorized an influence campaign meant to undercut Donald Trump, would it Iran do So it says that the Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, authorized the campaign now basically saying in the report, it doesn't appear to be huge. There was one incident last year that got some attention. There was this email that that seem to be turning up in Florida, and it was purported to be from the proud boys, the far right group, and in this email it was threatening Democratic voters and telling them to vote for Donald Trump. But U. S. Intelligence officials really track this down almost immediately, and within a day or so they sort of said what was behind this. The report does go on to say that the Iranians opted for cyber some cyber efforts because they're low cost there. Deniable didn't require access to the to the U. S. So it was worth noting, but it doesn't seem like this was something that had much of an impact. And how about China? What did the report say about foreign threats from China to the election? There was a lot of concern about China during the campaign. President Trump was very critical of China Politis sanctions on them. So there was the thinking that China might try to do something as a very skilled fiber player. Try to undermine the Tramp Trump campaign. In fact, Trump himself and his supporters claim this, but they didn't provide any evidence and the intelligence community conclusion was that China chose not to run an influence campaign, the report said. No quote briefly here said China starts thoughts of stability in its relationship with the U. S. And did not view either election outcome meaning trump or by as being advantageous enough to risk getting caught meddling. So it seems they sat this one out. So doesn't mean that the United States did a better job at upholding the integrity of American elections. It seems as though they were more ready than they were in 2016. They could perhaps predict more. Are they doing better? In actuality? So the short answer is yes, we did see a big improvement. I mean, one domestic agency, which doesn't doesn't get a lot of attention because it's new is the cyber security and infrastructure agency Sisa, which is part of the homeland security. It was created in 2018. It did a lot of the monitoring working with states domestically. And abroad. The National Security Agency has taken a lot of effort to try to not only detect that neutralize any any efforts abroad, but this has become a permanent part of our elections. That was clear in this report. It's an easy thing. It's a cheap thing for foreign countries to do, and we just need to be ready to expect it in every election going forward..

"That's implicit it in starting all this insurrection President Trump his crony Giuliani Trump Jr and then that Congressman, How can you go ahead and charge all of these people? These three quarter drug dealers and not go after the guy that's bringing this stuff in from the country? Sometimes it takes me about an analogy, but sometimes it takes more time. To build the case against the drug lords at the top, and you use the people who are you know this the street dealers you use those people in order to build a case that ultimately leads to the top, If that's what I don't know if that's actually what they're doing, you know that if the FBI they have that office legal counsel memo, office of the Legal counsel memo From years and years ago that says that you cannot indict a sitting president. It is not the law. It was an opinion that was written by the legal counsel's office in the White House many many years ago. Isn't it Hasn't Here's another thing tapped? I mean, I'm a security adviser for for for an operation Nowhere needed to what's going on here nationally, but It is so easy to trace people who fly. It would be so easy to get a list of all of those people that flew into the nation's capital two days prior to that up until that day, and just go back and just trace that, of course, is going to take a little bit of time. But that is one of the easiest things that you can do. A Zafar is finding out who was their flight in two days before And flying out the day of or the day after, but you have too much, but you also have to be very careful because if you're looking at people who are flying to a rally, that's a permitted rally those air legal of legal activities that they're engaging in. There's nothing illegal about doing that. Now, if it's simply part of the investigative process in order to interview those people to see if their potential witnesses, that's fine, But you have to have evidence that they've done something illegal. Before you open any Kind of an investigation against those individuals. In the meantime, I you know, they said that this is gonna take a long time. It's gonna take more than months and frankly, I found that encouraging because that means to me that this is going to be an ongoing investigation that serious about pursuing these individuals and let me to say this It's about damn time. It is about damn time. These groups are so utterly dangerous to America. They've infiltrated everything you know. There were police officers who were participants. Police officers who flew in from other places around the country who participated in this. There were members of the United States military and retired members of the military. And, you know, we've spoken of this before that the military has had this huge problem with right wing extremists and racist within there. Ranks. There again is a situation where you're operating under the UCMJ A and you can't figure out a way to get those individuals out of the ranks of the military. I can discharge him. You know, just discharge him court martial. Um you participation in these kinds of groups is a violation of the uniform code of military justice Do not tolerate it any longer. It is too serious to Molly Coddle. It is too serious not to take these things for what they are true threats to American democracy will be right back. 80 88 tennis the telephone number. 80 88 10. Laptop connected to Hunter Biden linked to FBI money-laundering probe
"Gotta question that he rarely gets from the media these days about his son Hunter Biden's questionable business deals with companies in foreign countries, while Joe Biden was vice president. Rudy Giuliani trumps hence run. It's the lastest effort in this desperate campaign to smear me and my family. Even the van who served them on that committee, a former nominee for the Republican Party said. There's no basis to this. And you know, and all and the vast majority of the intelligence people have come out and said there's no basis at all. Well there there is a top intelligence officials National Intelligence Agency who said that they believe that the that the laptop belongs to and it's not disinformation. Laptop does belong to. They believe right now, whether there's anything on it that they believe could lead to anything that that hasn't been determined. But they have said it's not disinformation. The New York Post has a new article out this morning. Another businessman has come forward, validating what the Post has been reporting about Hunter. Biden said that he was the receipt.
