Like she would back in back in those days there was there was this attitude of like I'm GonNa. Just have my fun, and then of course I'm going to get married to a guy you know that was. That was not an uncommon You know sort of EXC. Modality back in those days, or at least it wasn't uncommon here in Colorado where where I the community that I found myself in. That was sort of a thing people. I guess but For me as soon as I finally got it. I was not going back like for me. I was not going. I was never going to go back But for shelley she had started earlier with her with her other relationships with women and stuff, and always dated men, but always kind of had a girlfriend on the side you know. Did you feel when you walked to ask? Like for me, that was an added bonus like you had this like club. You were suddenly and in the sisterhood, and I loved it, and especially up here because we were you know there was there. Was this really really amazing group of just Hardcore Mountain Lesbians up here. That's suddenly I was cool enough to even just sort of be in that room with them and just revered them. They're just like really amazing. Women too strong, fierce, athletic, bad ass! Mountain women appeared that. Are Ed we're all just friends with each other. Because they all dated each other, it was really incestuous at the time I. missed all that because they were older, but You know it was just a really super cool group to suddenly be accepted into that was also part of the allure of it was was the community also you know? And then I went to a pride like sometimes when I would be dumped and single I I got a puppy like I got this puppy once when shelley hit dumped me, and his name is, Harvey and I loved Him Oh my God I love this. He was a white Chihuahua had for years. But one time like when he was a baby, I went to pride with a best friend Maryann. She see, I ended up in college. Not Wanting to tell me, but she started seeing women again. What is going on with you and she was like okay I'm seeing this girl. And then I went to this lesbian. Party with her and I was totally freaked out and. It. It was a long journey like coming out was just a long journey. There was a long long trajectory of me going my God. Oh my God you know gay people I was just raised on a ranch. You know what I mean so like to to be. To be out to myself was just mortifying mortifying it was it wasn't even. It wasn't. A small thing. It was like to sort of come out incrementally to everyone who has ever known me as a child. You know it was just such a big deal because because of where I came from. Holy Cow! That's kind of a fantasy scenario in ways. Stories, yes. I know it's not the point, but I do need an update on the none as she. Oh. She left the order she she didn't for the best. Yes, she. "So I was used to that. I actually enjoyed that. I had great great partners that I coated with in college, so that wasn't unusual. But it did strike me that in our orientational Microsoft, there was one of the NBA's we were just getting to know one another who really kind of picked an argument of fight with one of the people who was presenting a senior person and and it was a very acerbic conversation. They got in this very tense conversation. I thought, oh my gosh. Is this the culture I'm coming to. Lo and behold later I got to be friends with that person and, and I said to him, do you remember doing that? He says, oh my gosh, I can't believe you remember that. I'm embarrassed. He said I had a professor who told me literally the week before in one of my MBA classes that I needed to be more cert- of. And I. Scared me in that moment. It's funny. You mentioned that because I remember early on, so I really liked mathematics growing up, and I studied economics in college, and I went into finance initially, and the culture of being on the trading floor initially was so shocking to me because of all of the pushback because I had come from this world where I thought you're supposed to essentially look up to your boss. You're not supposed to challenge what they're doing. Definitely. And that surprised me going out into industry is that you know, I think maybe you saw the trading floor. The elbows are pretty rough ride. Yes and a and also I remember even in college being in a class where I come from an all girls Catholic school. So when a teacher asked a question, you raised your hand Wade into called on. I got into college very soon had to learn. It was a new game teacher poses a question of the class if the first one to shout the loudest. And so I got used to that some in college and then in industry I had to learn to be part. Of that world and to be able to really defend your ideas to the very limit that if you wanted your voice to be heard, you had a what you're talking about and be defender point of view, and I got good at it. I wouldn't say I enjoyed it, but I certainly not got good. I learned how to play that game, but it wasn't actually how I wanted to be in the world. I think a lot of women who have have been to this point successful in that world would say they figured out how to play the game in various ways. Do you believe that that is the key or should we be addressing the rules of the game and the culture of the game? We should absolutely be changing the rules of the game and the culture. And I think one of the things that makes me actually optimistic about where we are with women in the United States. We still have gaps for sure we could talk about those. But when I see the generation coming up behind me and I talked to women who are in their twenties and thirties there about making sure all women get pulled up all women, which means changing the rules of the game, and it means creating cultures that aren't subcultures, but are this is not speaking up and saying, this is not the right culture. Whereas when I talked to women, honestly, who are over sixty who did make it in the mail world in rose up, it's often one person or two people, and there's honestly some guilt there though, say to you is simulated I became the one, but I couldn't stand alone for everyone. Now we're getting enough women up in society. That we need to keep making sure we lift all women, and we need to say, we're not gonna play the game the way it's been played before. If it's a subculture, then you're sort of relegated to whatever is happening on the side, not the main game. Exactly. And they say, oh, about works in that small pocket over there. Of course, it works for them. They must be doing something different. Maybe they're the soft players are there. People will denigrate that group. And so we have to say, no, this is what's right for society..

When I was in college was some man, you don't know jumps out of the bushes and late at night when you're walking by yourself. Violence and blood, and he rips your clothes, and he rapes you. Yeah. And you go to the hospital, and you go to the police, so I'm watching this episode in their defining rape as sex without your consent. And I started to shake because I realized oh my God. I I couldn't have possibly consented because I was unconscious, and they're talking about what usually happens with women who have been raped the next ten years of my life from that moment forward, we're filled with promiscuity and one night stands. And I just thought that was who I was I had no idea that that's pretty typical when you know, basically, broke my soul that night and robbed me of the ability to choose. Who I wanted to have sex with for the first time at least, maybe like the person and trust them. And so to get robbed of your innocence. Suzanne I I mean, I've been saying I went to Catholic school. My sisters went to all girls Catholic school stone ridge, one of the schools that cavenaugh mentioned, and my mom was when she got married. My sister was when she got married right Sumed. I would be so when people go what's the big deal? You didn't even Raper in this story. Oh, my how traumatized all that. I would have been if that happened. I mean, exactly. And and also it wasn't until the all the Cosby allegations came forward that I realized in every description of what he had done to these women. That's when I realized many years later happened to me. That I had been drugged and raped not just raped drugged. And because I thought I guess I just had a really strong reaction to half of beer, but there's no way you don't black out and are unable to move in my experiences after that. And so so what was so important to me when I was watching the hearings because of course, I got so triggered and I've done decades of work on myself through therapy on forgiving him and forgiving myself and all of that. But the fact that here's the thing. I don't remember what month it is. What it was? I don't remember what I was wearing. I don't remember what I ate that day completely irrelevant. I remember his name. I remember his face. And I remember every detail of what happened when I was allowed to be conscious. And you said to me even in your texts. You're like, I'm not I'm not I'm not here to name him. I mean, it's just sharing your. This is the culture at Yale in the nineteen eighties. When retrospect I feel lucky that I was only raped wants which is really sad and Dc their fraternity that breath Cavanaugh was in was known for misogyny and drunken debauchery. And also, unfortunately, I mean, I had a wonderful except for that. Yeah. I had a wonderful education at yawn. I made incredible friends, and that that was sort of the anomaly, however, do you remember the viral video at Yale with where a bunch of frat boys were screaming? No means. Yes. Yes. Means that was my university. Yeah. It it is it's so soul-crushing, and and also to watch Cavanaugh basically have you talked already about Dr deny attack reverse victim and offender basically exactly what I did in his opening statement. First of all I wanted him. So sorry, Honey. Thank you. Thank you for being brave enough to share it. Because I you know, I mean, I haven't seen a woman yet that doesn't start to tear up just like you just didn't have to relive this. And it was like years ago. And that doesn't mean that it didn't matter. It was so long ago get over it. What was your reaction to seeing the president mocking? I I can't answer for her not remembering things so enraged, he's still laughing and cheering him. So by the way, what happened to she's a very credible witness. She looks like a good woman, very credible. Yeah. I mean. Yeah, it's despicable and what about all the allegations against him. Yeah. Of course, he of course, he wants to defend Cavanaugh. He doesn't want any of this to come back at him. I know I it's hard to like for me at least a process that every morning southpaw tweets a president who was under investigation for conspiring and this version of his own election and obstruction of Justice apparently rigged the investigation of the supreme court nominee who thinks president shouldn't be investigated. I mean, it's. It's so enraging. It's hard to know. Like, there's there's gotta be a word beyond despicable for him. And it's unconscionable. I've already talked about the f f f f f yes, yes. Yes. Yes. We've pornographic wide so many times. And it's forget them. Isn't that interesting which he managed to do he forgot he forgot all about right? I'm not bringing this up because you're Asian, but kind Chung I know she did she for some reason we always everybody's coming forward. Really empowering right for people to just you know. Oh, this is just some looting. The super smart Asian ladies is what I'm saying is my point I didn't mean to make their through line. And by the way, but you know, what the cultural? We are not supposed to talk about things like the Asian culture. Yeah. So if we are coming forward, you know, but let me just say, I don't know if you've read Connie Chung story, but I'm telling you, you can't go and comments sections on on this stuff because it is just our rose. It is. So, you know, her story is it's like a Nassar's Dr Nassar stories, trusted family, doctor, and she was also a virgin early twenties, and she went to get birth control or whatever. So she was a family doctor, and she he's doing the stirrups thing and molested her with his right? But if you read the story, he brought her to orgasm, he was manipulating her clitoris Andrey, and she didn't know what was happening. She had my very first orgasm. And then he kisses her on the lips and leaves. And I mean, I'm telling you go on the comments. She's just say, thank you. I mean, it's like God. Because I'm just because like you what you. You said women for a long time. How to think about oh, unless I'm a hit over the head and beat up and right? I I guess it was my fault. Right. Why didn't report because I thought it was my fault. I was mortified I didn't even realize I had been raped because I didn't know you could be raped on a date or by somebody you love and Trist. I'm here. She is thinking this is the trusted family doctor that that it's a regular, right? You know, digital gynecological exam. It didn't even realize what was happening and also. Yeah. And being afraid of not being believed. Oh, you're a hysterical female, you're making it up, right? Okay. What do I always say Sean over? It's not over yet. It's not over. I'm just saying..

"Of ophthalmology associates. Hey, thanks for joining us. Everybody. Good to have you aboard. We're taking your phone calls. Perhaps you saw Brad Kavanagh last night on FOX you heard some of the cuts you heard some of the latest stories about this supreme court nominee the Yale incident. The Maryland incident the yearbook, so what do you think court of public opinion is open? Also, there's the question I've got how much drinking. Well, here's the thing. You don't even remember 'cause I didn't remember either. So I kept because I was inspired. Honestly, by a television drama show, called the Waltons were John boy Walton kept a journal. I kept a journal for a period of time. It was kind of on again off again. But I definitely kept one in a certain period of my life sophomore year of high school, and I don't remember this incident. But this is what I wrote that my friends, and I went to a neighboring highschool girls Catholic school. Cool called magnificant in rocky river, Ohio. I went to the Jesuit school. All right. We couldn't get in because the place was so jammed, right? And so according to the journal, which I'm surprised I wrote this because God forbid if my mother had found the journal and read it or my dad, I wrote that we went out pooled our money, and we bought five bottles of wine and the five of us probably four or five of us drove around Cleveland drinking him. Now. I do recall when we got to mardi O'Malley's house. That was like the last stop the driver got out of the car, and he immediately passed out and fell to the ground, and that was not that unusual back in those days. You may recall there was a time when it was a contest to see you could drink the most. And that was how you kind of got respect by drinking a lot. And in fact, when you got to college playboy magazine would rank the colleges by how much you drank and. We were so proud of my college Boston College. Because at one point they said, we're not gonna include BC in the rankings because we don't want to include professional drinkers among these amateurs. All right. So I mean, you could imagine how happy we were to hear that. But honestly, it wasn't that unusual to get a barrel, and then you would line with plastic bags, and then, you know, some sort of fruit juice, and then you get pure grain alcohol two hundred proof, and you put it in there. Right. And that was you just drank drank drank, and nobody questioned no one was wagging a finger saying this is really not good for your development. This is really not good for society. That's how it was. And you were just trying to emulate animal house and beyond the crazier. The better. And I'm sure that would happen. There was not that unusual on college campuses across the nation. I think things have toned down. Kids are more serious about their futures. There's more serious kids in general, and there's there's just a in the early nineteen eighties after I got out of college. They started raising the drinking ages of from eighteen to twenty one at one time in many states, you could drink anything including Massachusetts and anything liquor at eighteen years old. And then they boosted Twenty-one they told us states. If you don't push the twenty one you're not getting a federal highway funds. So everyone complied right now every everywhere the drinking age is twenty one except in Europe you go on a cruise ship now in Europe kids can drink now. A big deal. That's the way it is different culture. I guess and. Then mothers against drunk driving became a huge force. And they put a huge dent in drunk driving. Suddenly became a real jerk in around nine hundred eighty five eighty six if you drank and drove before that, you know, it used to be that you would drive in Texas, and you finish a beer and then with your left hand while you're right hands on the steering wheel. You would throw it in the back of your truck. And in fact, my friend, Oliver luck who quarterback our high school team, then quarterback West Virginia. And then the Houston Oilers for a while he said that when he would drive two games. His driver would be drinking beer to relax his nerves. I mean, there's there's a lot of that going on and. So I'm just trying to kind of set the scene of what this guy Brad Kavanagh? The colleges then were different than they are now in terms of drinking. You would have cake parties in the middle of a hallway RA would attend. Hey, greg. You're on camera works. Good morning, Mr. Brunen shy. Say did I hear correctly? Exactly, right yo-. You're good. The idea is I cannot attest to getting drunk and high school because I did not drink. I just saw what it did was to my friend. Good for you. I stayed away from it. But I have something for you to think about everybody else. We're looking back at yearbooks nineteen Eighty-three. What happens to the next generation here when we have all these text messages that people are going to go through. Well, I think army lost aren't they? I I would not trust it. I I believe that they're in the cloud someplace with me, let me tell you. They're already doing it. For example, I know of an internship program for high school kids this summer, and I got notification that after we were told it was completely closed there are openings suddenly that their openings for his internship, and I asked why and the reason was administered by a major institution here in Saint Louis. He said, well, we did a social media scan on some of the kids, and we found some stuff on their emails these high school kids, and we decided to rescind their their internships. Businesses are doing that. Now, they've got software that scans our social media. And they find out what you're up to. And they look for certain words, and if they don't like those words, you're out. Mitch brennan. Can I say one more thing? Sure. Congratulations and thirty years and thanks for the Druze the other night. Oh, yeah. Thanks for coming out. I appreciate that. Greg. Good to see you and keep up the good work. Okay. We've got a mystery guests next hour if you identify him, you'll get some Ted Druce. We've got the wine line just around the corner on the voice Saint Louis. Mad dog you're up to back. Go ahead. Charlie. I'll try to make it quick. I think there's a couple of situations that haven't been brought up, and that is the fact that they first accuser miss Ford did take and pass a lie detector test. Now, I I've done that. I know what that's like. And for her to have passed that is significant. The other thing is this. They both of the accusers one and FBI investigation, the Republicans refuse to give that FBI investigation and Cavanaugh also in his interview yesterday said he didn't want to be bothered with that they just want him to give his word. Well, what the FBI investigation will call into effect all of these various saved it you very accurately brought up and see what's true. And what's not? And then McConnell says we're going to allow light through cavenaugh will be the next court Justice that doesn't seem like fairness to me. Yeah. We'll we'll see you know with regards the polygraph. You know, Bob, we know they're not flawless with regard to FBI investigation. They've already interviewed all the witnesses. I mean, I I don't know what an FBI investigation would do going back almost forty years can't dust for prints at this point..

"And we were raised, believe that we could become president, but yet it was competitive as shit and AP honors honors causes in like it was never like I was one of a million hot chicks my all girls Catholic school, and it was never like you're going to be handed anything like you have to work your fucking off. And my family are Italian immigrants. So my grandpa always used to preached me because he came here with ten cents. Now it's, he's like, I came when I was seventeen. I was cut off and is paid for skating out of waitressing jobbers six years for like eight dollars an hour and made no money before I saw my show at twenty dollars moving cow. So like my. Grandes say, like I came here with time Sants and now a millionaire. Like what the fuck are you doing? In my Catholic school? It was all girls. It was like, oh, you're gonna. You know, you gotta become president, fuck them promptly, you know what I mean? Like moves all girls competing for each other. And we were all rich shit like not me. But like I went to school through bucking Joe fucking like Porsches and we were expected to take over the world because it was this privileged all girls Catholic school in San Francisco, and we were, we were preached that we got great teachers, but I, it was very competitive. There's no guys, they're very competitive, and I feel like that resonates with me today. I don't see gender. I see. I see results, you know? And so that's how I am like I know CD freak with when it comes to work, but at the same time I realized the stigmas and society with women, I think sadly, a lot of those stigmas are perpetuated by women to be honest. What stigmas are you referring. A lot of women in the metoo movement talked about how guys are all in the Senate and Ruth gated Ginsburg documentary came out, which I loved. I fall politics a lot, and I feel like these women in society that have let pave the way for us. Right. Are farm p between not because there hasn't been opportunities right? But because a lot of women are catty and insecure because of like subconscious, Disney and upbringing and all this shea and every single girl from my Catholic school is like an MIT grad is a neuroscientist. I went to a great school. We not in our public school system. We don't have that. It's like in our in, especially in our culture right now with social media, specially we're taught to look hot. We're taught to font our tits we're, and that's what I did. Even myself. I got my phone from doing sketches visas. Click bait for my fucking boobs. You know, I did the same thing. So I'm a hypocrite, but I'm just saying like, it's. It's not the guys it's it's, it's our fall in the fact that we don't appreciator on power because we don't have. We don't have the meant we don't. We don't sit long enough in our age of like short attention spans to think about to analyze popular culture and went to actor on us are, do you know what I mean? Does that make any sense. I mean, guys guys have male issues too, and in different respects. But yeah. What issues do you think. Well, my friends during this book right now, he's writing this book. He's a New York Times, actually, it's not yet, but he, I read it the rough copy and it was about gender stereotypes in male culture, and it was the masculinity effect. I think men have a lot of, you know, interpersonal issues with expressing their emotions, but not everyone. That's the thing. That's the thing. It's like in on our culture. We over analyze each gender and that's what gets into shoes. Right? 'cause Trump versus another woman. One of the other guy versus girl, it's not going to be black or white, but yet we see it that way space the Jenner, you know. Girls who stormy Daniels playmate. I wanna say McDougal like they, they got paid to be quiet. They had their fun time, but now they're like, oh, he's a pig. It's like, well, well, this is the problem poppy culture is because I wrote about this in having Tim post recently. It was. Ninety nine point, nine percent of our hash tags are about to working challenges are about comedy, spoofs even me..

"I can't even speak for like what should be done for this, Dan, what do you think should have. Well, as somebody who's been looked at, if you. Not that I think you were molested. I just look at you and I'm like, you seem you seem like you'd have been targeted. Your third. Very quiet. You're adorable for the listeners Davis handing a gold cross. Dave did put me in new this tank top. This is true. Walked in, I said, go to the coin. Into the shorts and tank top I brought you came in Davis was like, Hello, daddy, actually be fair. That's not what I said. I said, you can put them on here if you want. If that's what you wanna do. It's I went to Catholic school from kindergarten through twelfth grade from sixth grade to twelfth grade. I went to an all girls Catholic school, and I like an elementary school, like there was definitely like a priest that like everybody was just like, oh, like he, he's, he's calling you wear. Yeah, you don't. Wanna go to that. And then in high school, like we had a non that we called Mr. sister and so like she would like even if it was like your worst enemy, if someone came up to you in like in the hall was like Mr. sister just called me into her office and you're like, all right, I'll fucking go with you. Like, don't talk to me like Jewish shares of something. So she no one ever said that she touched them. But like let's say, for instance, I had a friend and we were walking up the stairs. And Mr. sister said to her, Aaron, do you know what day it is? And she's like, yeah, it's Tuesday. And she's like, why are underway. Say it's Friday. So she had looked up her skirt and she had like days of the week under were on. It wasn't the Tuesday. It was like another day. So she was like, so like we knew that she like least was looking up skirt so and she would just get like very uncomfortably close to you. But like no one would. I mean, I don't know who was left alone with her anything like that. But for the most part, everyone would just grab you and just be like, hey, you gotta come with me. So while this may have been a terrible situation, it also might just be a bunch of unfounded rumors and you're just missed 'gendering this woman who who just wanted to educate people. Okay. Yes, it does. A Catholic schools are very much about education. He also had sister psycho. I mean, everybody had a name. Yeah, I never went to a Jew. I didn't really, but I did go to Hebrew school just in first grade and it was hell I went to. I went just first grade. I went to a school where well, I still hate my parents for doing this among other things. They put me in a class where I was the where they spoke Hebrew, who I was not adhered out. I was not raised to speak Hebrew yet everyone else in this class was, and so they told my parents that they thought I was retarded because I couldn't speak all their master plant and they're trying to get you in the easy classes. And they know they literally told my parents that I had a learning disability because every other kid in this class is doing fine except for me. And I'm like, every kid in this class speaks the fucking language. The class. Not? No, no. They said he'll pick it up if you emerge him in, it'll pick it out and I'm like, okay, well, first day everyone is talking to each other in this demon language. I've never heard and they just think I'm just gonna magically through most of what they're saying. It was a fucking joke. Well, can you speak Hebrew now. Permissible phonetically and never looked at it again. I didn't know God damn word. I was saying the entire time option. That's great though. I did my mitzvah by writing down. The prayers had to say in English phonetically, and then memorized booked on phonics for Hebrew. Like I don't think anyone learning Hebrew knows what it means. You're just it's just a maitre..
