"But again, he doesn't know me. He doesn't know how I rehydrate anyways. I don't even gain. I try not to gain more than ten pounds. So again, his plans just did not prosper and it's not going to affect me at all. If anything, this makes me more disciplined. And that's even scarier. So it's not going to work at all. I just know he's a coward, for sure, for sure, when things get tough, he definitely looking for the weirdest corneas edges you could get. You know, you know, Floyd taught him that, though, he's not that smart. So told him that, as he said, well, you know, in that interview, absolutely not we're coming to one 40. You know, yeah, you have to pull them. Absolutely not. We're doing that at one 35. Guess what? One 36. Fans didn't work, baby. You last fought in July. You elected not to fight this past January. How sharp do you feel coming into this fight? Well, honestly, if you know how to fight. That's it. You know, I'm just one of those guys that naturally, I've always known what to do in a ring and just some people have it, you know, I feel like you're just a natural gifted fighter. And that's what I am. I'm just a naturally gifted fire to understand his range really quick, understand what's going on and I understand what I have to do. All I've got to do is get my punches sharp, give me my left foot and I'm ready to go. That's it. Give me my sleeve shot. I don't care about anything else. I could go the whole training camp without sparring. I went a whole training camp without using my right hand before when I was fighting fonseca. I didn't even use my right hand one time. In that training camp, I threw it maybe twice in the fight against fonseca. Then knocked him out with my left foot. That's what I'm saying. I just know how to fight, you know? Some people have that. And I'm blessed with it. And I'm going to come in the ring with javonte with it. And he's going to, as long as he didn't take this from the contract, I'm okay. Take everything out, strip everything from me, don't take away my left hug and we're good to go. So javonte can punch, there's no doubt about that. Are you coming into this fight expecting to have to dig deep at some point? I'm believing that I know if it did happen, I know how I respond. proved it already. The old timers say, you don't know how guys the champion until he gets hits the bed. He'll never know who that person is to they hit the deck. Everybody got to go through that. Muhammad Ali, Floyd Mayweather, everybody who's hit the deck, how to get back up. I mean, Floyd didn't hit the deck, but he worse than hitting the deck. He was out on his feet, you know, with a guy coming right at him. So, yeah, let's not forget that. They talk about Floyd's defense, man. This has been wobbled by DeMarcus corley to the point where he looked like he was not going to survive it. So that's what determines trevante hasn't went through that. And I'm curious to see how he reacts. I'm betting my money that he's not going to react like me. I'll spend my whole purse that if he gets dropped, he won't go right to me like I went right to Lou Campbell. I could guarantee that for sure actually I'm more I'm more confident about that than anything. He'll be holding me and he'll be asking, what is going on? Tech is a historically slow starter. Is that something you think you can take advantage of? Like I said, when I get in the ring, people talk about strategy and all that meant. I get in the room. I assess what's in front of me and I take what's in front. So if he's running around, you know, trying to read me, that's fine. Do all your reading, you can do. But I'm going to be controlling what I can control. Stalking you down, understanding what you're trying to set up, I have experience. I've had guys run around the ring so much trying to get away from me trying to set me up. Do you think that's the first time people have tried that on me? They try to do that. Do you understand? But that's not what I planned he's going to do for a long time because he's going to feel the moment he's going to feel the urgency to like I have to make a statement here. And from there, I will take advantage of him. Yeah, you are an incredibly dangerous guy, I think, to start slow against. Because if an opponent gets down on the scorecards against you, he has to start taking some chances and you are dangerous to take chances against. A 100%, he doesn't understand how come I am under fire and how I can just land shots as you're coming in. I mean, that's my bread and butter, but a lot of guys lately. If you notice when I came back, none of the guys came at me at all. Hey gal didn't come at me. For tuna didn't even dare want to throw a punch. So I was already in the game for a little bit and I kind of already figured what I got to do now, you know what I mean? I felt a little bit more comfortable. Again, I'm even better now when I fall for tuna, but you could see that these guys, there's a reason they don't want to throw a punch. There's a reason they can't see the butcher that for some reason, everybody says I could get hit by. I want to tell people something about defense, too. I want you to write this down. What is defense? Defense is that you don't get hit. Have you ever seen Ryan García Bruce cut or swollen up in a fight ever? Never. Thank you. So what I'm trying to say is, it's not that I don't have defense is I don't have flashy defense. I don't have defense. These guys are busted up after the fight. But they only remember one defensive flashy move. That doesn't mean you have defense. What defense means is you don't get hit. I don't care how it looks. You just don't get hit. So why am I not getting hit? If I didn't have defense, you would consider me like a guy like Brandon figueroa. For example, I'm just throwing that name out there. He don't have defense because he gets hit a lot. If I'm speaking from honest heart, Giovanni Davis doesn't even have as good defense as me and I don't care what anybody says. I would not even got touched by gamboa. I would not even begin to touch by Leo Santa Cruz. Rollies wouldn't even have touched me. None of these got cruise for sure when they had landed a punch on me. Because I understand something he doesn't. And I have range and I have distance and I have, if I fight tall guess what, because that's how my body's designed. I just follow what I have to do. You want me to do this? Is this defense to you? That's not defense. Because if you gain crack by it, is that defense? If I'm slipping my head and I run into one, is that defense now? No, it's not. Defense is that you don't get hit. That's the biggest thing that people are going to be shocked by this fight. They're going to think that I'm going to get hit and when I'm not getting hit and that's the same thing that's going to happen to javonte. When he starts realizing, he can't just hit me anytime he pleases. That's when reality is going to hit him and he's getting smacked with jabs all day long and he's going to be out cold and it's going to be so sad for everybody in that arena. That did that just deny the truth. They're going to be shocked. I promise you, Chris, they're going to be social. You're going to hear a rat pits that night. You're going to be able to hit a rat piss. There's going to be silence in all augmented do. I don't even know how I'm going to be. To be honest, I don't know if I'm going to scream or I don't know if I'm going to shut my mouth. I actually want to hear the silence around the arena. I want to hear nobody speak a word. I can not wait. Oh my gosh. The absent to people over the last few months and I brought it up earlier in the show. I've been in every fighter meeting with your opponents over the last few years. I have always got the sense that they didn't believe the speed or the power or the skill was on the level that people said it was. I don't think guys believe what you got until they get in with you and see what you've got. That's exactly what it is.

"Boxing with Chris Manning. How's somebody punch him in the face? Anthony Joshua is a composed and ferocious finisher. Watch this. Hosted by SI's Chris mannix. That was my moment. Now with interviews, analysis and everything going on in the world of boxing. When you have talent, you are given another chance. Here's Chris mannix. And we are back boxing with Chris Maddox part of the volume sports podcast network. Big show for you today. Regis prograde, the former 140 pound champion he joins the program a little bit later on. He is finally getting another opportunity to fight for 140 pound belt. Three years after he lost his title in a close match against Josh Taylor, talked about him about that. And several other things. But it's been a pretty busy week in boxing with a major event announced. Ryan García tank Davis terms have been agreed to. Network deals have been aligned and we are going to get Ryan García tank Davis. Assuming both of these guys get through interim fights, which are scheduled to take place in January. Talk about that in a lot of other topics. One of my good friends in this business, the co host of the disowned boxing show with aachen baraki is ak himself and he joins me on the show. I think that there's no better time to bring you back than when Giovanni Davis finally books a big fight because I know as an average of supporter. I know you were reaching your breaking point here. Like you were kind of on the brink of abandoning your javonte support if he had not booked this fight. I almost, first of all, thanks for having me on the show. I was mother jump on that Chris mannix band where I gave for a second, but I said, let me hold on something is gonna happen and it did. It did. And we are gonna get Garcia versus Davis, presumably in April, just to run through some of the deal points. The financial terms between javonte and Ryan have been agreed to for weeks now. I was reporting it back in late October that they had reached an agreement on the financial aspect. It took a couple more weeks for the networks to get aligned. This is going to be a showtime pay per view. Showtime will produce and distribute it to zone, will be paid some kind of 7 figure fee and retain the right to sell the pay per view on the disown app that is own platform, everything that dis zone does. So, you know, we were just, you know, just a couple of weeks after we lost out on Spence Crawford, we get tank versus Ryan. Give me a reaction to this deal being all but signed sealed and delivered. Yeah, well, I mean, that part alone always worries me just a tad bit. You know, unless fighters sign on the dotted line, I could never really take that to the bank. So, but you would, here's the benefit of having an interim fight, right? Those guys. So you build up more momentum, you know, guys get excited because you're watching a fight with the Apple card could be upset here. So it creates more anticipation for the showdown in April. So I like both guys fighting, but there's always a flip side today. There's always somebody can get hurt, but it's a cut, a headbutt. Somebody could lose. I mean, it's unlikely to happen, but it's a possibility, but I like the risk. I think risk is okay, both guys, even though javonte is interim fighters is no walk in the park. You know, that's a tough fight. That's a real fight. And those are the type of fights where I don't think you would give javonte a credit because of, you know, he's not fighting a household name. But Chris, be honest on this one. Is this fight that javonte is fighting in January 7th? Is that a risky fight? It's a risky fight because he's going up against Hector Garcia who is one of the hottest guys right now at one 30. He's going to be facing a physically smaller man, but javonte is not a big guy to begin with. But Hector Garcia is coming off a 2022 where he beat Chris Colbert and he beat roger Gutierrez. Those are two high quality wins. The point is if like if Hector Garcia had picked up one more win in December at a high level, he'd be in the conversation for fighter of the year. He wouldn't win it, but he would probably be top 5 top 7, whatever it may be because he'd have three quality wins. You would have kind of in a way a bam Rodriguez type of year. So this is a really good fight. And I give javonte a lot of credit. I mean, I don't, I don't love that there is an interim fight taking place. And this I was told was because Ryan García requested it. Ryan García did not want to fight on January 7th, didn't believe there was enough training time, didn't it be there was enough time to get his body down to one 36. So it's from what I understand. It's on Ryan García this fight is going to take place in April, but this is a real fight for javonte Davis, and I'm very curious to see who Ryan García takes on in his interim fight. I know Joe goosens a smart guy. He's going to have some ideas about who he should face. I mean, it's kind of amazingly Javier fortuna would have been the right guy for this, right? Because he's kind of a heavy ish handed southpaw, former title holder, I don't want to say javonte is a much better fighter than fortune. But he kind of resembles him a little bit. What do you think about Ryan? What should he be looking for? Look, he took care of business already. I mean, I like, now, I think that javonte set the bar. Javonte is not fighting a soft touch. He's fighting a real opponent. Undefeated fighter that like to your point, it's a smaller garbage. He's not a big guy. So I think he's putting a little pressure on Ryan now. Look, Ryan, you know, can't fight the Uber driver going to arena. He has to fight a real fight now because there's that measuring stick. A name that comes to mind and obviously he's tied up and talks in order to fight Shakur Stevenson. I'm talking about Pitbull crews. I mean, I know it's a tough risky fight. I know that wouldn't be an intro fight, but honestly, if that fight was announced for Ryan García, I wouldn't be upset. And I would have Ryan as a favorite in that fight. So that's the name that jumps at jumps out at me for right for Ryan García for January. But I don't see that fight happening. I think he has to be strategic. You know, you brought up earlier as a great experience trainer, Joe goose, and it's going to pick the right opponent, but I like him fighting a softball. I would like him to fight a guy that, you know, that nobody's going to resemble a guy like tech, but at least the stance, you know, get them all up and ready, but it has to be an exciting fight, man. I'm curious. I don't know what direction those guys are going. Yeah, I was talking to somebody in Garcia's camp on Monday. And they were just kind of beginning the process. I think January 21st is going to be the date for Ryan to come back in his tune up fight. And Ryan, he can't wait till April, like he just gets to antsy and to win to his own head that I think it's good that he's going to get out one more time before April. The name that I've been coming back to is someone that's not a household name, but fits the criteria for what you're looking for. Jezero Corrales is the name that I keep circling back to. He's a former 130 pound champion. He's a southpaw. He's riding a three fight winning streak coming off a pretty impressive win. His last time out. He's about 5 foot 6, which puts him in the range of height for javonte Davis. He's not powerful. He's only got ten knockouts on his resume, but that's good if you're Ryan García. You don't want to take on somebody with some real pop behind them. And I think corales, because it's yet another southpaw that Garcia would face because he has some of the same physical dimensions. I think a guy like him makes

"A fighter from Victorville here in California trying to follow my footsteps or any other fighters footsteps who's a champion. You know, Ryan García, I think, has the abilities to win many world titles to become great to fight the very best. So he's obviously on his way and I think this is the first step right here. This Saturday where he has a chance to prove it. And I believe that if he gets past this Saturday, sky's the limit for him, obviously the talks have been fighting with tank Davis, fighting with the very best at a 135 pounds. So we're super excited. Not to discount fortuna is a tough opponent, right? Supposed to fight Ryan last summer. It's going to be a true test for Ryan for him to really come out there and make a statement. But you touched on tank Davis. At this point, people kind of compare records, right? They compare resumes. And a lot of people discount Ryan because of who he's fought, but you look at tank Davis, yes, he fights on pay per view, but would you say like him and Ryan are still kind of like on even level where they both need each other to prove something instead of Ryan just chasing him. Well, I mean, look, there's arguments left and right who's the more popular fighter who's the better fighter who has the better resume. Obviously tank Davis world champion. And so that validates the fact that he is on paper the better fighter. So a lot of comparisons, there's a lot of parallels. I strongly feel that the build up has been so great that you can make this fight tomorrow and it'll be, it'll be a super fight. It'll be probably one of the biggest fights in recent years. So as long as Ryan García is winning, as long as ten Davis is winning, I think their paths are going to cross. Sooner than later, I'm hoping sooner. This Saturday night will be will be obviously a great test for Ryan. He's facing world champion two time world champion. And I strongly feel that if Ryan García makes a statement, not only wins, but makes a statement and goes out there and knocks out his opponent. I strongly feel that this fight with tank Davis can get made in November. And I'm going to push for it as hard as I can. We just got news today from the WBA. That they mandated evolved to fight pseudo Ramirez for the world title. The guy who beat Canelo Álvarez. So I'll be making the phone calls to the WBA right after Ryan's fight that night to hopefully order Ryan García versus tenth Davis and we can get that we can get that going for November. This fight was looked at by many people as a WBC eliminator as though Ryan will be next in line for Devin Haney and those titles. If it turns out to be both and you make the calls to the WBA and they say, yeah, he can also be in a eliminator with tank Davis, where does he go? Because now you have several options in front of you, right? At this point of his career, you being on outside helping him steer the ship, would you rather fight with tank Davis or would you rather fight with someone like Devin Haney? I would rather go, I would rather go the tank, the tank side because tank Davis is the very best. And I think Ryan García has it in him. I know that he is young. I know that he still improving. He's still growing. He's still getting stronger. Going into his man's strength, but I really feel that Ryan García versus ten Davis can be the biggest fight in recent years for boxing and for fight fans for myself for everybody unboxing. I think it's music to everybody's ears. You know, we've been talking about tank Davis and Ryan for a long time. Why not get it on? Why not, why not have the WBA order that fight? And forget the WBC forget everybody else. Let's make that fight happen and see who's the best. Rotten Garcia believes he has what it takes to not only knock out fortuna this weekend. We've heard him say it during the build up. But he feels like he can knock out javonte Davis as well. When you look at his skill set, do you see the same? Do you think if they get in a ring, not only is it going to be a great fight, right? Because these guys don't have boring fights. They're both amazing. But do you see him going in there and stopping a guy like javonte Davis? Well, look, I mean, in my experience with boxing. And I've seen it all. I've obviously been in the ring. I've been in there with the very best. I've experienced, you know, the fighters that I've promoted over the years, you know, up close and personal, what it takes, what it's like, how you react in the ring. There's so many variables that come into play. I just feel that both guys are special. I feel that Giovanni Davis is such a special talent inside the ring. I feel that Ryan García is a special talent, and when you bring out the best in both guys, we're going to get a great fight. There's no doubt about that. I feel that Ryan García does have what it takes to beat Giovanni Davis and Davis has what it takes to beat Ryan García. You know, that special factor that both fighters have. It's like if one fighter goes down, like Ryan did with Luke Campbell. If Ryan goes down, he's going to get back up and knock you out. That's just in his nature. And same thing with Giovanni Davis, if he ever gets dropped or he's going to get back up and knock you out. It's just it's something special. It's something instinctive that both fighters have. They have the heart. They have, they have the fight in them. They have the will, the power, the strength, so I think that I think when it comes down to it, if both fighters are in that same ring, one night, hopefully in November, I think that it's going to come down to it's going to come down to who wants it the most. Who's trained harder, who's trained smarter, who is keeping their composure, who can stay calm cool and collective inside the ring. A lot of variables come into play. It's not just one thing, but both guys are special fighters. You mentioned that and looking at Ryan in particular turns 24 in a month. Only 23 years old, he's done all of this already in his career, all of the hype, all the accolades. You went through the Olympic process.

"So he could look at it two ways. Do I want to continue in this, what a lot of people perceive to be a contentious relationship with Floyd Mayweather in particular, or do I just want, as you said, to continue dealing with Al hayman and showtime, but just eliminate Floyd Mayweather. I was surprised to your point, Chris, I was surprised that he said what he said this week in that, you know, we've done a lot of good things, I'm paraphrasing, but we've done a lot of good things together and who knows what's going to happen in the future because it's completely contrary to what he had indicated in the past. He had tweeted some things that mostly he had taken down, but he had tweeted some things that were screenshot that certainly indicated that he was heading in a different direction after this fight. So I guess I'm headed to the press conference later today for the fight. And I'll ask him about it. I'm sure other people are asking him about it as well. Maybe he's now undecided. I don't know. I mean, but I just thought it was weird that he completely changed course based on what he had said over the last few months this week. He is the master of the tweet then delete, which he knows was anyone is meaningless because it'll get screen grab, shared all that way. It doesn't matter if he keeps it up or not. It's still out there. I mean, unfortunate tweet at Jake Paul, you know, all of a sudden went viral even after he deleted it talking about the money. He tweeted Derek Harmon's phone number. I mean, it Derek Carmen apparently had tried to arrange for him to meet with bob. Obviously, Derek harman, the former light heavyweight contender who works for bob Aaron for top right. He tweeted his phone number. Which I thought was funny, but I was like, oh man, I believe he took that down as well, but people started calling Derek Harmon and nonstop. Let me ask you them as Keith. Even if he leaves Mayweather, if he remains tied to Al hayman, does any of it matter? There's like ultimately to get what javonte Davis wants. Al hayman and PBC are going to have to do a deal with somebody. You are not going to get next year the winner of Devin Haney versus George Campbell's without doing a deal. Either with ESPN matchroom if haney finds his way back there, whoever. You're just not going to you're probably not going to do it. You're not going to get a deal for Ryan García unless you involve golden boy and his own. It's kind of as simple as that. All the talk about Mayweather. It's almost like a red herring. Like if he's not going to agree or if Al haymon's not going to agree to do deals with somebody else, we're still right back where we started in my mind where he's looking around the PBC universe where there's nobody. Like, I don't know who we would fight in that in that sphere. If he only limits his options to that in his next fight. You and I would both love to see Davis against Ryan García before the end of the year. There's been some momentum for those talks in the past have been real negotiations for those talks in the past. Ryan's going to fight against somebody in mid July and then presumably be available for one more fight before the end of the year. Do you think that it's possible for Al hayman to do a deal with somebody else? Do you think it's necessary for Al ham to do a deal with somebody else in order to get a big fight for Giovanni Davis? To answer your first question, Chris, it might matter very significantly to boxing fans in this way if javonte Davis leaves Mayweather promotions. What has been relayed to me is that he wants these fights and that he feels that Mayweather and maybe to a lesser degree Leonard ellerbe have prevented him from getting these fights. That's true or not, is probably somewhere in between. But if he really wants those fights and then he removes the people who he feels have been obstacles toward him getting those fights, well then maybe those fights happen because he demands it and he's speaking for himself now and he tells Al Heyman, I want to fight. Let's just say Ryan García. Please go make the Ryan García fight whatever we have to do, whichever partnership we have to create to make that happen, please go do that. Now, the onus would be strictly on javonte Davis at that point. If he does leave me with a promotions and then say a fight with Ryan García doesn't happen or a fight with the winner of Devin Haney and George Campbell just doesn't happen. Now if haney beach camp boasts, he's going to be tied up obviously because he has to fight him in a immediate rematch. So that fight won't be available to javonte Davis for a while, but the Ryan García fight, Chris with June and I have discussed multiple times on the podcast is a fight that will really resonate not only with boxing fans with people outside of boxing because I think both of these guys Ryan García is in a Gatorade commercial now and he has a huge social media following javonte Davis clearly has resonated with fans based on his gate receipts and you know reasonably decent pay per view numbers. Both of these guys are unlike most boxers in that people outside of boxing know who they are and they would love to see them fight. That I think that's the fight for both guys because on the other side of it, if you're Ryan García is matchmaker, if he's going to lose, you want him to lose the fight against Giovanni Davis, where he's going to make a lot of money as opposed, you keep taking these, look, if he fights Javier fortuna, it's not an easy fight, but it's a fight that Ryan García should win. But if you take enough of those, maybe one of those times you're going to take a risk that you shouldn't take and he's going to get picked off and that he's not going to be in position to make an enormous amount of money for javonte Davis. So if I'm his people, I'm trying to guide him toward that fight. Now, of course, Ryan García see it also is going to want to fight the winner of Devin Haney George campus just because who wouldn't want to fight for all the lightweight titles, right? But I think commercially the biggest fight in the lightweight division short of the titles and it doesn't really matter if they have the titles or not is javonte Davis against Ryan García. So whether he's with me, whether promotions or whether he's away from Mayweather promotions, I don't really care about that. What I care about is making the fights for javonte Davis that we want to see and that more importantly, the fans, the people who are paying their money and who religiously pay attention to this sport, get the types of fights that they want and Ryan García javonte Davis is certainly one of those fights. Davis, you know, the message to Mayweather promotions isn't, you know, I'm gone. It should be, you know, make this fight for me or I'm gone. Simple as that. Like if you want to be in business with me moving forward, this is the fight. You've got to make one way or the other. I don't want other lesser fight because I agree with you. I mean, you're more connected to javonte team than I am, but I've gotten the sense that the criticism of his opponents has really bothered him over the years. And this perception, right or wrong, that he's avoided these tough fights, has nodded him a little bit. So, you know, I think it now becomes on him to apply the pressure and say, this is the fight I want. It's available to me. I know you've talked to Ryan García side in the past. Don't let networks get in the way, make a joint pay per view if you have to, whatever it's got to be to make something like that happen. And let's do it. Now at some point before the end of the year. But you're right. It is now, I think, on javonte Davis to be response, making it happen. It seems like he wants that. He wants to he wants that responsibility. He wants to, as he said, I believe Brian Custer take the training wheels off. And go out there and make his own fights. Last thing for you Keith, Deontay Wilder, got a statue. Good for Deontay, by the way. Good guy. I mean, really good guy and deserves it down in Alabama. And the question came up during that unveiling about his future and wilder confirmed he was going to be back in the ring at some point. He's not fought since last year when he was knocked out by Tyson Fury. What do you think the future is for Deontay Wilder? It was mid 30s now and you know, the clock is certainly ticking on how much time he has left. Yeah, he's 36 years old now, Chris will be 37 in September, I believe, or October, maybe. But.

Thanks, Chris. <Speech_Music_Female> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> All right, time <Speech_Male> now for this week's <Speech_Male> picks brought to you <Speech_Male> by FanDuel <Speech_Male> if you have been betting <Speech_Male> with me <Speech_Male> since I <Speech_Male> started doing this in <Speech_Male> January, <Speech_Male> you have probably won <Speech_Male> a decent <Speech_Male> amount of money. Last <Speech_Male> week, I <Speech_Male> told you to take Josh <Speech_Male> Taylor by <Speech_Male> decision over <Speech_Male> Jack Cadillac. <Speech_Male> What happened? <Speech_Male> Josh Taylor <Speech_Male> won <Speech_Male> by decision. This <Speech_Male> week, I'm <Speech_Male> locked in <Speech_Male> on the José Ramírez <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> Jose pedraza <Speech_Male> fight. That is Friday <Speech_Male> night <Speech_Male> in Fresno, <Speech_Male> California, <Speech_Male> 140 <Speech_Male> pound fight between <Speech_Male> Ramirez, a former <Speech_Male> champion at one <Speech_Male> 40 in pedraza, <Speech_Male> one of the more well-known <Speech_Male> names <Speech_Male> in multiple <Speech_Male> weight classes. So, <Silence> ordinarily, <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> I would lean heavily <Speech_Male> towards José <Speech_Male> Ramírez. But I <Speech_Male> have some questions here. <Speech_Male> Ramirez <Speech_Male> has not <Speech_Male> fought since <Speech_Male> May of <Speech_Male> 2021. Now pedraza <Speech_Male> last fought <Speech_Male> in June of <Speech_Male> 2021. So <Speech_Male> he has been <Speech_Male> just as inactive, <Speech_Male> but Ramirez's <Speech_Male> last fight was <Speech_Male> against Taylor. <Speech_Male> He lost a <Speech_Male> big fight, a <Speech_Male> undisputed <Speech_Male> championship fight. <Speech_Male> And I thought in that <Speech_Male> moment, <Speech_Male> that José Ramírez was <Speech_Male> a pretty big guy for a <Speech_Male> 140 pounds. <Speech_Male> Would take that <Speech_Male> opportunity <Speech_Male> to move up and wait. <Speech_Male> He decided to <Speech_Male> stay at one <Speech_Male> 40 and it's going to try to <Speech_Male> get one or <Speech_Male> more of his <Speech_Male> titles back. That <Speech_Male> worries me <Speech_Male> a little bit. Pedraza, <Speech_Male> he has been <Speech_Male> at a 140 <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> plus pounds <Speech_Male> for his <Speech_Male> last four fights. So I think <Speech_Male> he's more comfortable <Speech_Male> at <Speech_Male> this weight. And I think pedraza, <Speech_Male> who's <Speech_Male> losses have <Speech_Male> largely come <Speech_Male> at the highest level <Speech_Male> he was stopped <Speech_Male> by Giovanni Davis, <Speech_Male> he went the distance <Speech_Male> with Vasily lomachenko, <Speech_Male> and he lost. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> These are <Speech_Male> not bad losses. So <Speech_Male> I <Speech_Male> am going to take <Speech_Male> the underdog <Speech_Male> in this flight. <Speech_Male> That is Jose pedraza <Speech_Male> plus three <Speech_Male> 90 <Speech_Male> over at FanDuel <Speech_Male> right now. And I'm going to take <Speech_Male> him by <Speech_Male> decision, which is at <Speech_Male> plus 5 50. <Silence> Now, one other <Speech_Male> thing here, <Speech_Male> the location <Speech_Male> worries me as <Speech_Male> I make this bet. I <Speech_Male> agonized over this bet <Speech_Male> because of where <Speech_Male> this fight is. Fresno, <Speech_Male> California, <Speech_Male> the home <Speech_Male> region <Speech_Male> of José <Speech_Male> Ramírez. And we <Speech_Male> saw with <Speech_Male> Taylor against catarau <Speech_Male> in Glasgow, Taylor's <Speech_Male> backyard. <Speech_Male> That <Speech_Male> location matters, <Speech_Male> that beating a guy <Speech_Male> on his home <Speech_Male> turf is <Speech_Male> really difficult. But I think pedras <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> got one <Speech_Male> last <Speech_Male> signature <Speech_Male> performance <Speech_Male> in him and I am <Speech_Male> concerned <Speech_Male> about José Ramírez <Speech_Male> getting back down to <Speech_Male> one 40 <Speech_Male> to make the <Speech_Male> wait for <Speech_Male> this fight. So <Speech_Male> I'm going underdog <Speech_Male> here. Pedraza <Speech_Male> by decision <Speech_Male> over Ramirez, <Speech_Male> that's my picks, <Speech_Music_Male> brought to you <Speech_Male> by FanDuel. <Speech_Male> That's it for this <Speech_Male> week's episode. My <Speech_Male> thanks to Sergio Moro, <Speech_Male> Eddie Hearn <Speech_Male> and Joe markovsky <Speech_Male> who joined the show, <Speech_Male> as always, subscribe, <Speech_Male> rate, review <Speech_Male> this podcast on Apple <Speech_Male> podcasts, <Speech_Male> Spotify, wherever <Speech_Music_Male> you

"If you don't want to be back. You can't be back if it's just for the money. I really think that he's back because he missed something. He missed something. He just got married. Now, you know, so his life is good. I think he was just missing something. Maybe the attention that you get in boxing the importance that you feel from people in the sport, you know, all of that. Just all of it. And it's going to be interesting to follow next. And you made an interesting call right there. That's the one I'd like to see next for him. You know, I know that you say, well, he's been off two and a half years. He needs he didn't look like he needs any kind of sharpening up fights, if you will. He got 12 rounds of that. And he got tweaked at the end where he got hurt. I'm still looking to see it. The next time, you know, I know you hang out with all these producers and executives. If you're hanging out with the guys like this weekend, maybe having a martini with the heads of Fox, could you ask them if they could go back and to the archives of last week and show the replay of where we got hurt because I like to see it? I think the fans. I think you never answered that question complete. See how I always have a way of suckling all the way back, did you see how he got hurt? Because I'm being honest. I didn't see it. I didn't see it. I don't remember seeing the replay. They showed something. It was a replay, but as far as my eyes, I didn't see the punch that hurt him. And then they didn't show it again. And I know one thing. I used to try to produce crazy. If I'm there, I hit my talk back because I talk back to people where you could talk to the truck and you guys don't hear me. And I would have talked back as they did throughout my career. Hey, hey, I want to see that replay. And I think the fans do too. Get it up there. Because I ain't going away. I'll keep hounding you. All night. Show me the replay. Keeping them on their toes. Well, I'll be interesting to see what Keith is up to next. Let's talk about the under car. We had Leo Santa Cruz back in action taking on Kenan at one 30, ten round fight one way domination by Leo Santa Cruz all three judges had it, shut out hundred to 90. Leo's a good fighter. And if he's not in there with top tier guys, he's going to dominate just like he did coming off that vicious just absolutely vicious knockout at the hands of Giovanni Davis. Alleles kind of been all over the place in the weight classes, but he looked good at one 30. He put it on carbohydrate was stepping up big time and competition from where he had been. And I think Caribou haul was cool. He was the bigger guy though physically, physically, he was the bigger guy. I had carbohydrates. Win streak, but you know, as you always say, okay, 18 fights. Who was he fighting? Well, they want a Leo Santa Cruz types and Leo showed everyone what he was made of and outboxed him from start to finish. In some ways, the only way you're going to beat really beat grows and I don't completely mean what I'm saying right now. But I'm making a point is to do with Devante Davis did not come out because not too many people are going to outwork them. Nope. Because he throws an awful lot of punches. Yeah. I mean, the guy the guy's all workhorse, when it comes to punch numbers. You know, again, he's not going to get out of household or I'll point it by too many guys unless you've really could hurt him. Well, you're just such a good boxer that you can outbox them, but he puts so much pressure on and he goes to the body so well and so consistent even as hard to do. You know, and he does a very fundamentally tight, where it comes and by the jab and he goes to work. He brings a lodge pal. This guy is a blue collar guy for sure. And he's a great guy. He's a Family Guy he's got his family around them, and he's a great guy. And he loves boxing. There's a guy who you could see unlike what I was saying about Thurman. You could see that boxing is, you know, how important it is to him and his family, the lineage of his family, boxing his their friend, you know, boxing lives with them. It's very important to him, even though he's had so many fights have been around so many years. And you made a good point, Ken, you know, a guy that's been around this long. You wonder when they start to get shot one when they start to get a little shot. Especially after knockout laws, but he showed he's not. He showed he's not. He, you know, he still looks prime. And you got to love the guy. You know, he just comes to fight. And nothing fancy. You beat me, I beat you. But I'm going to be there. I'm bringing my lunch pal. And I'm going to be there all night. Do what I do. You know, I had him on ESPN years ago. And I picked up, I was the first kind of, really. Mention it. He's got to have it. It's just a habit Ken. Of doing this. Yeah. He just shakes his he twists his right hand. He's like this. And he just the right hand shakes it. Yeah. And it's a habit. It's not any purpose other than a lot of people think his hands hurt. Well, then it's been hard for 20 years because it's almost like yeah, exactly. So I always would get to me because I would always I'm a commentator I'm a broadcaster. I'm an analyst, but I'm a trainer. That's what I am. I'm a trainer. And my whole life, and a teacher. So I would get to me, I would say, why does the trainer in a corner? Why does nobody and a commentator's never mention it? But that was what would get me would be the trainers. Why does nobody ever tell him? To attack when the fighters sees he's taking that right hand. During that time, whether it's one second, two seconds second and a half that he's doing it. He's not throwing it because he's shaking it. Yeah. Why does nobody ever tell him Ken? And all the years he's been doing this to attack on that side immediately. Soon as you see him attack on a go, go. Attack right to that side because he won't throw it. You have a free entry point. You don't get that too often. You got a free pass. You got a free, you don't have to pay a toll. You get to cause the bridge free. That reminds me of when you went fighter is like bounce in too much..

"Better than they have it. And certainly I covered football for a long time and really up top there too. So I guess we should be thanking my only thing is we need to see the fights and it's continually becoming a problem where they're putting us in a situation where people are kind of walking in front of us and they're not doing it intentionally. It's just you know they have to fine tune it a little bit so we're not in that predicament. You can not write on deadline responsibly and effectively when you have people walking in front of you you just can't and where people standing up and they're there to have a good time and they don't care about us writing on deadline, but when you're, you don't want to be melodramatic, but you are recording history and you don't have a lot of time to screw around. So you need to see the fights. But anyway, from where I was sitting from my vantage point, I thought javonte Davis won one 15, one 13, but I always say, Kris, when you're writing on deadline writing running and stuff, it's hard to score the fight accurately. But I did think javonte Davis did enough to win. I didn't think Esau Cruz did enough to win the fight. But he obviously won and losing the other night. If there's ever a case of someone doing that, it's Isaac Cruz, right? Because people did not know who he was really. I mean, we obviously did. But most of the people inside of Staples Center came to see Devante Davis violently knocked someone out and they don't necessarily care who that someone is. And I think Esau Cruz really developed some fans that night among the people who came to see devonte Davis. They appreciated the effort that he put in. He's a tough guy and one thing I'll say going into the fight, Chris, I didn't think Cruz was going to win, but I did think he would stick around at least toward the, you know, to the two thirds into the fight at least, because I was looking at his head and he has one of those heads that look like it would be very hard to hit in terms of when you hit it, you would feel it. And that turned out to be the case for devonte Davis, who came into the fight with the left hand injury and further injured it, probably at about the 5th or 6th round. And he said he hit him so hard several times on the top of his head that he really did damage to his hand. Now, one thing I'll say, Chris, is I'm a little bit more of a believer in Giovanni Davis's ability than you are. I'm with you on the way he's been matched very carefully, but he is before Sunday Night had knocked out 24 of his 25 opponents. They've been smart careful, annoying to certain factions of people about how they've gone about matching him, but they've done a great job and cultivating his fan base and the one thing that is undeniable, whatever anyone thinks of Giovanni Davis is a billion. I think he's the one thing I don't think he gets enough credit for is how smart of a boxer is. He's got a very high ring IQ, and I think he exhibited that on Sunday Night. And he kept turning he saw cruise and turning him and turning him and turning him. I think the other thing that we might have learned about javonte Davis on Sunday Night that we might not have known before is he takes a pretty good shot. Now, Esau Cruz is not a huge puncher, but he can crack a little bit and he hit him with some very flush paunches and Giovanni Davis didn't go anywhere. So I give him credit for that as well. But he's a B level lightweight Esau Cruz..

"See parallels to something like this kind of yeah and like in his mind. He has a lot of reasons that he's kind of put out there. One was that one of his good friends got knocked out like right before he went out to the rings. We maybe wasn't emotionally all there. He's fighting in a in a venue that sounded like a library and so he feels like the raucous crowd and with the the ability to go back and study that tape that maybe he won't make those same mistakes in warrenton went right at laura throat that entire fight even when he got hurt he went right at him and warranty tactical mistake and especially for a guy like warrington. That is not can customize boxers. Maybe game plan wise. There's another parallel. Maybe he comes into this. Fight able to outbox laura and then we can kind of move our he can move on from this fight so i i do see some parallels if only in warrington's mind why. He believes that he needs to do this. And why he's able to rectify loss. I can only imagine. Like what warrington thought of lara coming into this fight until the first fight because laura like there was any tape on them going into that guy spent his entire career almost entire career fighting in mexico. He fought wants. I'm looking at now. A holiday in mexico like so it's not like he was fighting in marquee events and maybe it didn't take him seriously. There's also the possibility though. And i'm reminded that old line from apollo creed trainer skies all wrong for his baby like he's all wrong for us and maybe are is that like. It's i tend to agree with what you said about tactics. Don't go in there and try to slug it out with this guy to prove a point. Like if you want to take a page out of jay's book he didn't he went out there and just moved around andy and picked up his god his titles back that way and moved his career full. No-one faulted him for it. Who was yelling third fight. But i- warrington has the certainly has the ability to outbox laura but if he goes out there and tries to appoint like show. He's a man's man like yeah. This might be one of those fights where he doesn't recover from it like i don't want to say his career could be over after this fight but maybe it could like me at this if you have another knockout loss to a guy like this and you're thirty years old i mean who knows well and then like if that happens. Let's say he loses. Again how do you then rehabilitate him in the is the public. Like what does that mean to more kind of rust shaking. Stay busy fights and then a rematch. With kid galahad or fight with lee would like i think the the intrigue this fight to is that if he can beat laura in the rematch the rewards are right there in easily makable fights within his own promotional body so there is a lot on the line in an immediate fashion for warrington to get this win back and speaking of not letting fights marinade too long warrington tzu-kuan. We'll never see that fight. That's another example. That should have been made when you could have made it. and now it's worthless. At least until both those guys rehabilitate their careers. All right i want to ask you about the changes that we've seen within the wba. My feelings on the wb are well known to this point on the zone broadcast couple of weeks ago. I said this. Wbz belt is on the line in this fight. It's one of forty three belts. Wba's handed out across its seventeen weight. Classes your the relationship between sanctioning bodies and fires. It should be symbiotic. The as relationship with boxing is parasitic. They are fee gobbling bloodsuckers who have done nothing but damage this sport until they clean it up. Boxing would be a lot better if all the fighters wbz belts including the winter. This one thrones those belts in the trash so corey in the aftermath of the debacle between maestri and fox which is a few weeks ago. Now you've seen wba start to do some things that are positive. They are or have eliminated interim champions which they should do. They are now pushing for consolidation so to speak between titleholders by ordering regular champions against super champions things like that as they force giovanni davis to choose between his titles at one thirty or one thirty one thirty five. So we're seeing. Some some some positivity the wb are you buying though the wbz as a changed sanctioning body. Well i want to say this. The wba is not your friend or they're doing a really good job right now of kind of laundering their image in the aftermath of everything that happened by calling reporters and saying. Hey there's going to be a person for this fight and of course if you report you have to take that news. You take the call from gilbert. Oh and your port. It and people get excited. The hey monty davis is gonna fight rowley. Romero and there's there's a string of kind of positive stories or at least not negative stories now out there about the wpa but what in reality. They really changed other than of course eliminating some of those titles. Which of course is good. It's simplifies things. Those titles probably should have existed. But i mean there were. Those fighters paid sanctioning fees for those titles. They're not giving that money back to those fighters they're saying you're not interim champion anymore. Now pay us so that we can sanction another fight for you and the really what. They're responding to was the letter from the association of boxing conditions. They were they were saying. You have too many titles this confusing. How is this happening. The deeper problems are not really things that they've either responded to outside of you know banning glory rizzo which obviously they should do but the other things they just haven't really responded to at all which is a lot of improper relationships there is. I think the There's the perception of a lack of impartiality within the wba. There was that video that was that was on my strays instagram of mendoza. In the hotel room with a hill. And nora's the day of devin fight facetime ing with gabriel dre. That's the that appearance of a total. Lack of impartiality. They haven't responded in any that. Like you imagine if the night of the super bowl roger goodell was hanging out with. Tom brady laying in his bed. That's absurd the optics of this are horrible. And they've responded to none of them. They've basically done the bare minimum. And say oh we heard you. You just want fewer titles. Well that's one of those things but the wba since nineteen eighty two. It was basically baptized in controversy and it continues to and they've basically responded to none of it so no i don't trust that the.

The Corner

"The champion. He's coming in with the title the title that many never defended so the wb come above. That is the permanent champion and now they get to settle it who is really the wbz champion. Then sets up the winner to face earl spencer with three title belts on the line for everyone listening if you don't know how it goes four major titles in every boxing division so that would be three on the line whenever the winner if they fight aerospace after this one and that will lead turns crawford with only the other title outside of that so it's always nice to see titles condensed in this would be a good way to get there but people are talking about well. Expenses out the luster is gone. I i still don't know how big of a star aeros fences. Well i put it like this. This is a mighty mighty bloated aerospace's career in terms of this would have made him a pay per view star. Lightning oscar may floyd paper star. You need somebody. When you're on the cost to put you over canelo got me pay per view star courtesy of floyd. You need one person an opponent there's gonna put you over. This was the opponent aerospace doing. And i mean even ask In some ways you could say it was. Year was already a big star. It was like when he beat the shit out of old chavez in front of like all these mad people from mexico which rightfully so it was like. Why are you being up our fucking hero chavez whitaker back to back Tam don't do this. Because i can't remember the i'm just i know it's in the vicinity but what i've dated about it like damn that'd be one hell of a run if you went back to back off of them but yeah nelson start making time period. Yeah i mean honestly delahoya as much as we talk about him. Oscar de la hoya has wanted the best resumes and box. He fought everybody. How will i will never sit on asher because people give oscar and be like. Oh joe ask. You didn't even have to fight pack. Yeah he fought. Floyd he fought. Shane like i cortez. He fought fernando vargas when people. Fernando was the real mexican like he fought. Everybody fought tito trinidad off for everybody know months apart by the way ten months. Miguel and held gonzales was in the middle but it was in the same calendar year which is stupid impressed. Like like oscar had the thing in terms aerospace junior aero aerospace needed. This l. fight he needed. It can't really pontificate. How serious it is. That aero doesn't get this fight at. I don't know what happens to his career in terms of star power. I still think he will be. He'll be a star but having many pactel's name on your resume when you're on the cusp. Because he's jeff ward right. It's not like jeff. One was a guy who came in and people thought many would be and got a bullshit decision or tim. Bradley who also got a boost your decision. They really them. Nobody thought they were on the cusp of stardom people see aerospace e his name and they know who he is but it's like if he went out there and beat the brakes off from any pack out you star that that's what happened in now. I don't know what happens. Like yoga's beaten. Backout doesn't help with this new i would say. Of course it does but no one gives a fuck about jeff horn. No yeah jeff. More when he beat manny packing. Or what have you got the bullshit. Denying tariffs crawford. Yeah no it wasn't not jeff hornacek. No but because like if you're expected if you're not expected to win you win and i say this about zaira he morale is nobody cares because after you win you have to keep winning and most people when they get that like even the buster douglas shit buses went out there and he had a video game for him then he got fat and just stop giving effort and then he got beat up by vendor holyfield and his claim to fame for the rest of his life will be mike. Tyson was the biggest upset air ever. But when you have somebody like an yoga's who's not a huge underdog and we'll talk about the fight in a moment but if he wins is not gonna be pretty. It's not gonna go out there and knock out many pack. Yeah no it's not gonna make them star but aerospace if he would dusted manufacurer. It would have been all over sportscenter. Everybody would have been talking about it and whether you think is true or not it was. The biggest part of the year was bigger than that fight. And if i was in his. I don't i don't know if i don't know because cannella bill joe saunders throws fear i don't think i don't think cannella versus plant is bigger bigger than pack spins. I think passover suspense was the biggest fight in the year. And because paco still ha-. I mean just like nello pack. Has this cult following right. You know his countrymen adore him but spent in the same vein is giovanni davis spend does bring him out. He does come out in in that vein when people see and also is like the only fight left this summer. Everything else got killed so it would. The spotlight would have been on spence and pack ya and spent beach the paquito. Everybody's talking about it. I think the biggest as i say. Hello but can the tomato cannon. Everybody's in wash it. Yeah that that's my point any fight. We can have the biggest fight. But i think i think manny's manny's kind of there as well. He's manny's the let less of a dying breed of superstar boxers and there'll be another one that comes back like manny motherfuckers setting low as that guy like i put him over. You've put on by someone from that generation but that's every generation but that's the that's what i'm saying manny's alaska diane breeds of manny. Goes out on a shield against aerospace junior in a fight that nobody really thought manny should or would take any took. it isn't a big moment for aerospace. Or if many pactel fucked around and one jesus oh then he is then he'd have to five bud crawford. he'd be a favorite. I don't i don't know if he be aerospace he'd be a favourite Crawford and arguably the number two for pound guy in the world. I can see that number two. I don't know if you'd be favor against because it all depends on how he beat. Eero spence right like if he went there. And just beat the hell outta aero sprints. Yes but if you didn't people would say aerospace was already. That's the first thing the naysayers would say. Well thought air lost show imported. Listen second thing who say what are they go. Oh well who would it be garcia that good. That's that's what they say he was too big for. Michael garcia day would take away. Everything aerospace's accomplish. So i don't think they were. I think it'd be maybe even money fight. I don't think many would be the favourite. But i think air losing this fight socks for him because what can he do. They can bring this level of attention to him even a bug crawford fight as big as we think it is in the boxing world. It's not nearly as big as what many is to the.

"I don't know if you'll be right about germont davis at this point i would push back on the resume here. I'll grant you producer absolutely his defining moment but draws it was a undefeated recognized world champ. I think it is fourth title defense at that point in geneva outboxed him and then he stopped him in that seventh round. That was giovanna is coming out party after that. who cares. what are we talking about here. Are you going to sit there and tell me you can answer this either. One of you is limbaugh. Shikwati win for giovanni davis. No he's undefeated fighter and when you compare them to devante davis he's nothing and i get it but we're talking. I want to talk about. Leo santa cruz i know i wanna i wanna i wanna get. I do wanna get but before we get to santa cruz. You guys are talking or at least we're talking about records opponents like lynn. Walsh was eight domestic fighter before he fought monty davis afterwards. He went back to being back booboo android if he has any champions you he's he's begging to fight the no that's no it's not and i feel the same way i'm a fan of his. I'm a friend of his. But i'm saying why do you think he's a good fighter if he hasn't fought champions well olympic background for one. Like that tells me something about him and the eyeball test with. I watch him. Just shut out on. Davis has way better i. It's a way better. He's he's the most precise terms crop. He is the most dominant fighter in the sport today. The most hands down. Okay doll come. Chris means somebody somebody who's more dominated him at the championship levels offer besides terms coffee but even even more dominant in both of those guys will getting unanimous decisions. I'm kamilo alvarez note like i'm talking about dominant i mean..

"They're also full fledged members of the day davis fan club. They are brock fellas. Before i get into this stuff. Which i'm sure will argue about. I've always wondered you to become synonymous with each other. How did this working relationship become a thing with barack. Well i mean virago way back. You know i mean. I'm probably was thirteen years old. When i first met barack in streets new york so we initially met on a basketball court and later on in life ran into each other randomly. Two times when i just started to dabble in in the boxing world and Arrest is history. He joined the team and one thing led to another sirius. Xm this is fifty zone. And we're here for so long story and now boxing. We're chris mannix so now we've made it even though with a member of the devante davis and you're the cheerleader of boo boo android standby last. I proudly wear that t shirt. I think i have. I think he's great suit. But i'm not gonna knock another great fighter. No no we're not knocking. Were more pointing out. What should be looking into that right. Okay let's get into it right off the bat. They're giovanni davis three division title holder. And i use that. Were titleholder purposefully for this conversation. Stop mario barrios this past weekend. A lot of people fired up about that performance and i was to reinforced. That davis is a star sixteen thousand plus fans. That's something what i expect will be strong pay per view sales. That's something a television friendly style. That's what gets you the big checks. He reminds me guys of kind of a smaller version of deontay wilder with how we kind of leans into his power as often as he does. Where the davis argument loses me is when it's used to make the case. That davis is now an elite fighter. I don't believe mario borrows to me. Was like at best seventh or eighth in one hundred and forty pound rankings which are pretty thin in my opinion after the top five. So i'll turn it to you guys. I brock we'll start with you. What did what did the that win over barrios tell you or do for you with. Giovanni davis the boxer. Well he was up on all of the scorecards so it's not like he can't box. He was tentative because he's fighting to weight classes above his known. You know so it did solidify him as one of the all time greats. Moving up in weight. What i say that that. I don't mess around with the trinkets i don't mess around with the belts. I would say Legitimately he's probably a one division champ and that's two straps it's the ibm and the super wba. So i don't want to put that stain on him because that really has nothing to do with him you know..

June twenty goes to a young lady who is currently on the run right now because like so many other people in this world. She addicted to. The drug called attaining are as they say. In france attention okay. Attain seon now. I don't know nothing about the difference. Okay it was on saturday night but it was too many black people doing brilliant black things this weekend to pay attention. I was watching Giovanni davis fight. I watched the soldier boy versus bow was watching the chris. Paul get two one win away from his first. Nba finals not to mention. My older daughter turned thirteen this weekend. So i was not paying attention to a much of french folks on bicycles but when you see a video of all those french folks on bicycles crashing looking like that picture of the french fry. That's building meek. Mill's lap while he was sitting poolside. Then pay attention. Okay me that made me stop that. At least see what happens. So i watched the video. I watched the woman step in front of a pack of races holding a cardboard sign up so he could be caught on tv. And then this happened. Let's go to nbc sports report. The how many people are going to get back right. That's your picture. Oh my goodness may one fan has done something that has created absolute havoc it. Was this shine. The in front hits and that is the result and there was a domino effect when the writers are that nervous your smacked in there like sardines and there's nowhere to go so if you're sitting anywhere behind twenty martin into his left most likely you're gonna go down. You really don't have a chance. Road is super narrow. See as crash there and a domino effect to spreads it all the way across and closes us wrote down so the guys in the back along with the ditch on the right and left side of the road. There's no place to go. You just have to go right into the pile you either going to be held up or worse you're gonna crash labrador just informed me that all writers frenchy it takes place in france is writers from all over the world way to get in the way of a good joke dan but anyway toward the france organizers are going to sue the woman who caused this huge crash. They said they are suing her to showed a tiny minority of people who do don't spoil it for everyone basically about to make an example out of this young lady but they have to catch a i. Oh she's on the run like schon and beyonce knowles carter because now she's facing a year in prison for causing the worst crash in the history of the tour de france. Now does she have to deal with the consequences of our actions. Yes i prado. That she's not somewhere. Contemplate making a permanent decision based off temporary feelings. Yes i'm talking about suicide okay. You understand people who crave the drug called attend cion can handle said drug when his positive negative like this new caused the largest crashing in tour de france history and no world. Seems like they're talking about you. That's a lot of pressure okay. I know she's scared to death. That's why she's on the run but i appreciate doesn't hurt herself but police are on the hunt for this female suspect who has not been identified in. All of this is happening because she wanted to hold up a sign to the tv cameras de sade go grand granddad in a combination of french and german. I have no idea what the hell that means. Okay i am a forty two year old man who will be forty three tomorrow and when i read gold grand granddad it translated in my brain to go go gadget. Don't ask me why that's just what happened. Okay here's the moral of the story. What is the point of trying to get on camera in two thousand and twenty one. You have a sign hold sign up. Have someone take a video of you holding the sign up with the race going on behind you. You're already on the side of the road. All you had to do with just turnaround. Hold sign up. Let somebody videotape you. The by the passing by. That's cool problem solved. What's the point of trying to get on. Tv cameras in two thousand twenty one when you have your own cameras on your phone. Whoever that sign was full they could've thought add on social media. You could of tech stat to their phone. But that's just not enough people in two thousand twenty one. That's the problem with the attention we received from these smartphones. That one high is so addictive in more addictive than any drug on the market right now and what's sad is we don't even know we junkies. Please.

"You could almost see the glee he takes us. It leaves his mouth every time. He says it but as it pertains to lopez's relationship with top rank. It's you know. I know there was talk about there being litigation because they interfered in the you know they feel that. Top rank interfered in the purse bid process. I'm sure he could sue. But ultimately it wound up working out well as as well as imaginable really. I mean he's gonna make an enormous amount of money. june nineteenth. You know so so. It's hard to say that whatever was done by top ranked behind the scenes with his own. Or whatever this this worked out better for him than anything else could have possibly worked out so and then. Do you want to waste a lot of money in litigation and spending time out of the ring because you won't be able to fight while going. It almost serves no purpose. You complain and probably that crawford's losing you money because you got to pay him acts like you really wanna waste i. It's a tough pill to swallow. If you wind up losing a person tayo goes and fights onto zona wherever but Taffy more versus middling one thirty five is not going to move the needle. It's just throwing away money to a degree so why not. Just roll the dice. I mean it's not the same thing. And i like to compare what does to what happened with. Jose ramirez maury soaker but like if taffy will beats devon. He comes back from that a massive star income and probably a bigger pay per view drawn. Espn like i just it. Just it however works out. That fight needs to happen. Next like ryan is doing his own thing right now. He's going to figure this stuff out. That's not an option for either guide. There's nothing else out there. One thirty five because giovanni davis seems fight at welterweight just indices interested in and fighting lightweight. I'm whatever you think of him. Fighting one hundred and forty pounds. He certainly doesn't seem interested in fighting. A female lopez is he. Who is he interested in. Fighting at this point i don't know like the we've talked about this mara. Bar fight is like is strange because is a is a threat. And i don't know what games off like if i hear on showtime right if anybody talking about the belt. That's not a fictional belts. It's on showtime papers. Not stephen espinoza yeah. I don't the thing is nonsense. I mean he. He's the second josh. Taylor is the wbz everyone with a brain knows that this isn't a hardwood. He'll join us with junior champion so Yeah it's almost. It's insulting to some extent. Like why do you keep pressing this issue that he's going to be the those belts should not. I don't fault the fighters at all as i always say they're just exploiting the system that exists it gives you leverage it helps you make more money. I totally understand. Mario barrios going to make more money for this fight and he'll probably ever make in his life so good for him But to try then to say drew davis. It's a risky fight. And i do despite what people might think mary barrows. I do think there's risk involved here for for davis because he can punches a lot bigger than him he could not davis has been outed. Davis has got power. But he's been outboxed like he's had to rely on that power like even leo. Santa cruz had his moments until he got flattened. So davis may have to summon that power. Maybe that power is not there at one forty well. That's it's interesting. You say that. Because when i asked fema lopez about this the other day at the workout. He said he thinks he will carry that power up..

"Not so sure. What davis is going to get out of it. let's finish with ryan garcia and during the fight week for burglar sees oscar de la. Hoya talked a lot about a plan. He has for ryan garcia. Did what that plan was. But says he's going to meet with ryan garcia this week talking through some things and hopefully come to some kind of agreement with ryan about his future. I get the feeling keith. My understanding is that golden boy and ryan garcia on very different pages. Ryan garcia is not happy with some of the offers that have been made to him lately. He was offered a million dollars to fight hobby for tuna. He didn't want that whether you want more money. Different opponent either way. He didn't want a million dollars to fight for tuna. And i keep hearing. Talk a lot of talk that you know. There's some behind the scenes discussions between ryan garcia and pbc. Excuse me giovanni davis about a fight. So where do you think we stand with rang garcia. I do think that ryan were legitimately wants to fight. Your vaunted davis and i think the feeling is mutual if they can make money work for sure so you have to credit ryan garcia for being ambitious and wanting what what is dangerous fight for him also a dangerous fight for tank davis So both of the guys deserved credit. If that fight come together make much more sense. Than avis fighting. Mario barrios. I don't know it's hard to say. What oscar de la. Hoya is trying to do with him because he didn't really divulge details other than that. It was some sort of three fight world tour. I heard him on on the podcast with you less. And i heard him on a couple of a couple of other interviews kind of saying we're gonna take them on a world the thing that i don't understand now maybe more money involved in this. I'm aware might just make too much financial sense to not do it. But why would you take a kid. Who's clearly very popular. And and one of the few fighters in among american fighters one of the rare few who can sell tickets in the us and now arenas are going to start opening up throughout the us as we come out of the pandemic hopefully and you'll have at least fifty percent capacity in arenas and things like that. Why would you then take ryan garcia halfway around the world. Where no one no offense. No one cares about ryan garcia. And i don't even know the countries he's talking about. But why would you do that. Why wouldn't you build his star a unless there's more money in it than i'm aware us. Why would you do it like. Why wouldn't you have him fight. Whoever's opponent is going to be his next fight why wouldn't you have that site in southern california Opens up there or las vegas or something texas. Were you know. They're clearly allowing a full capacity for fights that seems to make more sense to me. Now the other thing is though like ryan garcia went and fought for the interim title. Ada sanctioning fee showed a lot of four to that fight against luke. Campbell really showed himself. Well down donald. The canvas came back. Knocked out in campbell. Will that was. That was to fight devon haney and now he doesn't wanna fight devin haiti..
