For sure Those guys may pant now and I hope they do, but they usually don't So you go the other direction on that You're going to win most of the time, so not worried about that, you know, mixing last season? Yes, he obviously there's some recency bias here against Joe Mixon. But you know, he only appeared in six games, but he handled over 80% of their carries a 12% of the targets. He was RB 10 in fantasy with a really poor offensive line. That's it's still not in great shape, but it's should be slightly better than it was last season and with the rookie quarterback and I'll tell you what if you know if Joe Burrow makes a leap in his second season in this offense starts scoring and you would think they would And considering the trio. They have a wide receiver, not to mention CJ use. Omaha is an underrated tight end back that should open up this offense and open more running leads for mixing and allow him to produce and look Nixon again. Only 24 years old. There's he's about a year older than Najee Harris. It was just drafted as complete an NFL down still very young. He's been durable before last season. I think there's reason for optimism with mixing and honestly, I think he's right where he belongs in a GPS, A borderline RB one. I think that's totally fair. Daniel let you take over here. What are your thoughts? Yeah, I felt like seven. I had to go with Jonathan Taylor there, and I kind of feel the same way that Mike did when we talk about, you know, I've been looking at this offseason as though it's a lot of the Big six. But I think once I got there pretty obvious that Jonathan Taylor was going to be the pick for me rather than going wide receiver. Went Jonathan Taylor Cam Acres Terry McLaurin. I didn't love the way that this draft started from me, in part because I added Robert Woods in the fifth and didn't love the idea of two Rams players from the same offense. Not that I don't think that that offense will be great, but this is one of those things. I've been going running back running back a lot in mock drafts, and I wanted to try it again here because I was in a different spot than I normally pick at so seeing the way that this played out, I wasn't upset about it. But my team is Younger and my wide receivers are definitely a little shakier than I would like. Robby Anderson, Robert Woods, brain and cooks Devonta Smith. I've got a couple of guys that I believe have some high upside and some big play potential, But that floor isn't necessarily there. And there's definitely some shaky quarterback play as a part of it. So, uh, you know what feel this is part of Mark drafting. You give some things a chance. You try some stuff before it becomes the real deal. You see whether or not you like it and you decide whether you're going to do it again next time, So I don't think that I will drafted where I'm at here in the seventh. I feel like that's a pretty tough spot for me. I'm hopeful that Robby Anderson takes the next step this year getting getting Sam Donald back under center, and I'm a little bit higher on him than most. I believe, but, you know, Hey, I didn't start out going five wide receivers and not drafting a running back for my first five picks. I'll tell you that much right now. Well, who did that? None other than Mike Clay and take number nine. Walk us through your picks. Mike. Yes. So I did Go zero running back here. It was not intentional. You know, as I preach often, you know, let the draft come to you Take the best value Pick if you don't If there's a value on the board and you don't take it, your leaf makes going to you're at a disadvantage there an advantage. Why would you do that to yourself? It makes no sense. So look, I mean, if you follow it might look bad, right? You might look at this and say, OK, you didn't take a running back until the sixth round. This team can't be good, But look at what I was facing, right? So I'm picking ninth overall again, A 10 team draft, So I took Travis Kelsey. That's a value based on his ADP. I could have taken Nick Chubb or Erin Jones. But of course I want to take Travis Kelsey there then I come up with my second pick in round two. I take Tyree Kill again. My running back options Cam makers Joe Mix and Antonio Gibson. Fine, but not Tyree Kill, who is probably the number one fantasy wide receiver right now. Then, at the end of Round three, I took Michael Thomas again. I could have taken Josh Jacobs or Chris Carson. Even Montgomery and then Allen Robinson. Three picks later. Same kind of thing. Those are my options again. I'm reaching on a running back instead of taking a wide receiver one. Why would I do that to myself around five same thing. Get to the end of the round guys like Myles Gaskin just went and Travis AT T N I was looking at Chase Edmunds, Kareem Hunt. Mike Davis. Of course I'm going to take D. J. Moore, who is at worst, The mid range wide receiver to I take that, and then I still go. You know, I I go with quality options that running back, I thought, I mean, I could build this position all all season Long Chase Edmunds and Monty Williams. Obviously, as tremendous upside. I gave myself an edge of tight end I mentioned with Kelsey. I got one a quarterback by taking Kyler Murray at a discount in the eighth round as well. Melvin Gordon. I get the other piece to Javonte Williams there, uh and tree Cohen's PPR asset. Obviously, take a late flyer there, so look. If there is a position that you want to exit your traffic, potentially needing to work on if you had to pick one of the four. It's probably gonna be the running back position because you know and field. You know this during our waiver wiry around, there's always running backs on there, Right. And as we know, sort of the place where you can win your fantasy drafts is not just by drafting running backs early, but finding the right running backs to draft early and yours optimistic as anybody about Joe Mixon running back nine. I haven't running back 14, which it turns out, is the lowest amongst the rankers at ESPN, so not a massive massive gap. But still, five slots at this running back group can be different can be consequential. How optimistic are you? Or how confident do you feel that RB nine ranking for Joe Mix? Honestly, I'm not super confident, and we'll see. Uh you know, I think you know, we've talked about this on other podcasts. Um, you know, we did. Um, after our podcast. I know Stefania has You know, she she wants to see how how healthy Joe Mixon is, You know, she's a little nervous about how the season ended where it's a little mysterious. And so, um, you know, I'm assuming you know that rank assumes help and assumes that he's there assumes an improvement in the Cincinnati offense. You know that he's going to get it. You know, huge workload again. Giovani Bernard is now obviously in Tampa Bay. So you look at the depth chart behind them that some some Ah J P. Ryan and Trayvon Williams, you know, but You know, they paid Joe Mixon and so my expectation here is that here's a guy that's a true three down back. It's gonna be used a lot on offense that I think Going to be really good this year. Assuming again you're you're making a lot of assumptions, but assuming the help of Joe Mixon and assuming the health of Joe Burrow Higgins Boyd Chase, and then you got mixed up in the backfield, like Pick your poison of your defensive coordinator faces facing Cincinnati this year, especially with the defense that I don't think improve that much this off season, so I think they're going to once again being decent amount of shootouts. Remember Joe Burrow at the time that he was injured, was leading the NFL in passer times per game and I think it's going to continue to be an offence that's moving the ball and mixes a nice pass catcher. Uh So Having said that, um If the health isn't there, he may drop more into the into. You know, the Tier two list for me. So, um, no, I'm not certainly, you know, planting a flag saying I truly believe in Joe Mixon, But I do think the talent, the volume and the offense. Assuming health for the important people looks to, you know, you should have a very solid fantasy, Susan. Yeah, and I'm a 14. And the reason is somewhat simple Math. You and I know that my clay is constantly reminding us two touchdowns are very difficult to predict year over a year, but and I'm sure they're going to be players that are gonna be trapped ahead of Joe Mixon that might have a similar issue here. But he's got four seasons as being the guy and this is not a backfield right? Like he has been their work or since the moment he was drafted. It's got 25 touchdowns in 50 games. 50 think about like Alvin Kamara last year. I understand the six touchdown skews it a little bit, but look at some of those dominant running back to the top of the board. And you're counting on like if Derrick Henry scored fewer than 10 touchdowns this year, you would be mortified, right? I mean, you would literally have a heart if you play 16 games and scored more than 10 touchdowns. What would your reaction you'd be stunned, wouldn't it? Sure. Yeah, I mean, Yeah, right. Yeah, a little bit. Yeah, So you'd be I thought. I think there are two things as one and I know the volume. We also have a volume is King and fantasy. But Joe mix, and I believe his average more than 4.1 yards per carry. Once in his career. I mean, so the low yards per carry and also the relatively low number of touchdown scored through four seasons of the reasons why A little bit less optimistic than some you factor that you multiply that by some of the health concerns that Stefania has alluded to in previous conversations, that's why I have him maybe a little bit lower than some, but he's clearly a talented guy, and I don't believe this offensive line is totally fixed. But If the passing game is as electric as we think it can be. Maybe some lanes are opened up for Joe. Mix it and so not avoiding him. Just a little bit lower than most field. Can I stop? Let him do you mind Easy? Yeah, before is he the guy and I feel like he's been this in years past. Is he that guy like if he were to get 12 touchdowns rushing and for receiving touchdowns. All of a sudden he gets that touchdown equity and he's a guy that's now you're drafting outside of the top 10. That's a top three running back, and I feel like that's not the first time people have said that about Joe Mixon. But like is he the guy outside of probably The top 10 running backs that has one of the better chances to finish as a top five guy given all of those, or already four years on Still not one of those guys, not not from me and again, I'm conceding that like I I am on the low end here, right? So I gave some of the wrong reasons. I mean, yards per carry in touch. Inequity are two big reasons for a part of that. Sure, so and I'm and the offensive line Be blessed and and all this all happened and I will say for whatever it's worth. Build last year again small sample size. But in the games that he played the six games that he played, he averaged 16.6 fantasy points per game, which was which had he qualified would have been running back nine on a point for game basis. So even last year You know, behind a bad offensive line and an offense that we don't think is going to be as good as it will be this year with another year of Joe Burrow and the addition of Jamaar Chase, you know guy was still a top 10 fantasy running back on the points per game basis. Sure, no again. I'm admitting here that I'm on the lower end than most. But if I'm looking at running backs are outside my top 10. And I think I have a chance to like. Finish in the top five. Like you give me a full season of Chris Carson. He'd be a name that comes to mind. Yep, sure is. Carson could certainly have. They're not five.
