"The money here we go money talk. And the time is ten O 3 a.m. eastern standard time. We have Bitcoin sitting at $16,859 pretty much even from yesterday, Ethereum is at $1246, it says up a percent in 24. Tellers number three, binance is at two 86, up a percent in 24, and USD C is number 5 running off the top ten. We have B USD XRP doze coin cardano and polygon. The total market cap is at 843.6 billion. We have a BTC dominance of 38.4 and fed them into 18%. And moving into the news today, the U.S. bankruptcy judge responsible for the Celsius network case has ordered Celsius return around $44 million worth of cryptocurrencies. The ruling by judge, Martin, Glen, will impact customers funds that never touch the firm's flagship interest bearing, lending service, which represented a fairly small minority of the overall customer funds held by Celsius. There is just 15,680 customers who held around $43.87 million in peer custody. For those people who held that money in pure custody, 100% of their funds will be returned. Users impacted by Celsius, who kept any money in the services they offered, have until January 3rd to file their claim. Coinbase's CEO Brian Armstrong said that last year, coinbase raked in around $7 billion and around $4 billion of positive EBITDA and EBITDA stands for earnings before interest taxes depreciation and amortization in its measure of company's profitability that excludes these noncash expenses. And this year, they're looking at around half of that or less than half of that. In Q three of this year, coinbase is trading volumes dropped and its net revenue for Q three of this year declined 20% to $576 million. Armstrong told Bloomberg that there was a clear need for regulation in the crypto world, and he expects something will be put in place in the U.S. within the next year. He also reiterated that FTX was a bad actor, saying this in quote, I do think that the FTX downfall is a bit of a black mark for the industry. It's not representative of the whole industry, of course, in traditional finance, you'll see bad actors as well, like Bernie Madoff, or what happened to enron. He went on to say that the crisis would serve as a wake-up call for regulators to enact legislation. Here's a good question. Did sandbank freed have a hand in the collapse of Terra Luna? Well, Manhattan prosecutors are looking into it investigating whether the FTX founder manipulated the market price. The report from The New York Times said U.S. prosecutors in Manhattan are examining that the possibility that SPF steered the prices of cryptocurrencies such as Terra USD and Luna to benefit the entities he controlled, including FTX and Alameda research. Wow. And if they find that to be true, that's going to be huge and hugely detrimental to the space. And more FTX news, kind of FTX news. In a strongly where letter sent Tuesday by representative Richie Torres, he caught up on the government accountability office of the GAO to conduct an independent review of the SEC's actions or lack thereof in the months leading up to FTX implosion. The letter specifically singled out SEC chair Gary ginza for claiming exclusive regulatory dominance over the crypto exchanges while simultaneously failing to meaningfully regulate them. Torres wrote in quote, if the SEC has the authority that mister gins are claims, why did he fail to uncover the largest crypto Ponzi scheme in you as history? One can't have it both ways, asserting authority while avoiding accountability. Wow. Zing. He continued to say the operating principle of the SEC must be protection for the investing public rather than publicity for the political appointee in charge. He continued to say mister Ginsburg leadership has left the career staff of the SEC fundamentally demoralized to an extent rarely seen, with the SEC inspector general reporting the highest attrition rate in a decade. To what extent it has mister gunner's demoralization of his own workplace crippled the commission in the performance of its duty to protect investors. On Monday, representative Torres introduced two billows in the House representatives that would immediately enact crypto exchange regulations. In more FTX news word on the street has it that FTX was in late stages of negotiating a sponsorship deal with Taylor Swift. How much was it worth? Well, something like a $100 million. One former FTX employee reportedly said that the exchange had sought a light degree of endorsement from swift on social media, though swift herself, according to a person close to the discussions, never contemplated agreeing to endorse the exchange. Those opposing a deal with swift remembers of the FTX marketing team, as well as the FTX U.S. president Brett Harrison. Other people in FTX reportedly doubted that Taylor Swift would add any value to the FTX user base. And in the final FTX news of the day, I think. Don't quote me on that. Representative Maxine waters said that lies are circulating on CNBC that she's not willing to subpoena SPF. She said he has been requested to testify at the December 13th hearing. This is peanut is definitely on the table. Stay tuned. Today, the FBI arrested and charged cofounder of blockchain event startup block party for swindling $1 million in cash and crypto from the company to spend on luxury goods. From a 2017 to 2019, the cofounder stole ten Bitcoin from the company and falsified trading records to cover his tracks. He's also charged with embezzling $1 million in cash. The DoJ claims that he agreed to hold the money in his personal bank account that is that is just beautiful operations there of a company while the company looked at banking options. Then he spent that cash on nightclubs travel and closed before, again, falsifying records to hide what he actually did with the money. Prosecutors further alleged that he stole black parties utility tokens, set up meetings with would be investors and convinced him to give him cash for the assets without letting the company CEO know. And finally, an international audit tax advisory firm confirmed on Wednesday that binance holds more than all the Bitcoin it needs to cover customer deposits. The company reported a 101% collateralization ratio on 575,742 Bitcoin. So binance, they quickly implemented a proof of a reserve system after the collapse of FTX last month. It's the merkle tree proof of reserve system, which uses blockchain data that allows customers to independently verify the safety of their assets, ensuring that they aren't being lent out or stolen without permission. Kraken's outgoing CEO Jesse Powell was skeptical about this merkle tree proof of reserve thing and he said, the merkle tree is just hand wavy bullshit without an auditor to make sure that you don't include accounts with negative balances. Continuing to say that the statement of assets is pointless without liabilities. In a Twitter thread, he said this, proof of reserve audits must have. Some of client liabilities, user verifiable cryptographic proof that each account was included in the sum and signatures providing that the custodian has control of the wallets. So it looks as though that CZ jowl is listening to Jesse Powell. And so I think that advice from Jesse Powell should be implemented in your due diligence as well. Thank you for listening to this episode of the decrypt alien. My name is Matthew dimmer until tomorrow. Happy everyone. "Boogie. What's Denver doing? Good question, man. Why didn't they just keep boogie? Why would they go with Deandre Jordan? Man, that dude must be really good friends with everyone. She's got to be the great like is he like pal Gasol levels of greatest human being or something? Or he just knows where all the bodies are buried. Got something. It has been proven at least over the last three years. Here's why. It's not an NBA player. He's not an NBA player. I don't know how you could watch his half season with Philadelphia and think he's still useful. I don't understand. It didn't make sense how the Lakers. Thought he was and then he goes from the Lakers to the 76ers to they're now Denver? Like the Lakers should have known better. After seeing what he did in Brooklyn. Is that their locker room veteran guy? That's the only way that makes sense to me. And even then, that's like so early. He was one of the first signings today. But even as a locker room, maybe he commands more respect than we realize, but I can't see like Michael Porter, junior being like, okay, Deandre yeah. Let me. Like, okay, you're right. You're right, Dre. Let's let me keep it straight. Even Jared Dudley had a little bit. I see them looking up at Deandre and be like, you write, you write out I look up to him enough full 6 11. Don't see it. You've got to throw something on the court, at least a little bit. Was they really watching this Deandre was a good player? I guess that's right in there, Wheelhouse. I don't get it. It doesn't make it doesn't make any sense. It's still baffling. He was one of the first signings announced today. Oh, here's a good one. Sonic fighter 25 said with the roster we have kind of what mellow back. Sure. What do you think about that? Bring them back belt. I mean, the focus is clearly been to trend younger here from the Lakers. Are you okay with bringing Bello back? I don't think it's the worst thing. Yeah. I can't immediately like there aren't players immediately coming to mind that are like greatly better for what the Lakers need than Melo. I think I know we spoke earlier. David ginza was mentioned. He didn't sign while I was not paying attention. No. Okay. Like someone like him, I'd prefer. But other than that, I can't think of anyone that's just like, yeah, definitely got to have more power. The Lakers have also been rumored to be a landing spot potentially for Blake Griffin. Mellow or mellow or Blake Griffin. Mellow mellow. I was saying Griffin, no, mellow, yeah, but. Yeah. Yeah, I'm an agreement there. I'm an agreement. Just can we please not put Melo in center anymore? Please. Shut the number. I lost hair watching that. That was awful. Yikes. The chat thinks I'm ten, so I lost hair at ten years old watching my old son. I'm trying to go through the list of who's even still available, shout out to dort. Blue door got paid. My favorite contract today. Oh man, he got paid big time. Despite what Gallo was out there still. Right. He's looking for some money. Not officially..

News around Apple TV plus that is disappointing on some level and nowhere near surprising. Variety says the Antoine fuqua directed film Emancipation has almost definitely been pushed into 2023. The problem two words Will Smith. Three more words slapping, Chris Rock. According to variety, the movie would have been the first release for Smith following his assault on comedian Chris Rock during the 94th Oscars as a result he was banned from attending the Oscars and other academy related events for ten years. While no official date had been set for the film, variety says it was expected to be the streamer's next potential awards project this year after winning best picture for coda. There is talk that the film's director has told deep in post production and the film might not have been ready for release this year anyway. Okay, that might be true. Then again, it might be cover for waffling around the release. While some inside Apple are said to still be trying to solve a late 2022 release, one insider says it's the unspoken truth that the film will not be out this year. Apple original films offered no comment for the variety report. And finally today, a relatively recent piece of apple history has a date with the wrecking ball. The Mac observer says the building that holds apple's first international store is set for demolition. Plans are for Tokyo's building home to Apple ginza to be taken down by the end of this year. Originally built in 1967 to report from Japan property central that says the 8 story building is set to be demolished to make way for a ten story building, amazingly that will only net them another 600 ft². The building that stands there now is said to have 42,400 ft², the new one will have 43,000 ft², but you know it'll also have that new building smell. No word on whether Apple will relocate the store. Points out that the ginza district is Japan's most famous area for upscale shopping at the same time. Apple does have four other stores.

"Knock your vision. Unless there is sort of stuck out from their head. That was another thing. Brian was talking about was like maybe there is sort of bulged out a little bit and out in gould sure but there are a bunch of examples of modern predators with crappy binocular vision. There's komodo dragons. Crocodiles snakes sharks and whales all have very poor apprentice vision and a lot of those are very good predators especially the whales yeah. that's our reminder that all whales are carnivores people. Forget that but they are. They look friendly because they're big and they don't eat people But they eat plenty of other animals as a side note. There was another twitter thread. Where a scientist. Head dissected aweil and stripped off the fin part so you see the basically looks like a giant hand underneath. Yeah yeah. They're super weird. Nia as the great white sharks might be a good analogy for allosaurus because they also sort of open their jaws from like the top and bottom at the same time and presumably they might have had a similar hunting strategy to allosaurus in the sort of biting and then running away rather than you know. Sort of clamping down and like a dog does in sort of dragging down prey. 'cause we were talking about how relative to their size thereby forces in great but they do have big sharp teeth so they could cause some damage than sorta like scamper off and just wait for the animal to bleed out and just like great white sharks. They have a really good sense of smell. Interestingly their sense of smell allosaurus sense of smell is a pretty similar ratio. The olfactory ratio is pretty similar to carcharodontosaurus. Which is named after its similarities. With a great white shark coming full circle here it is although tyrannosaurids including alberta zora gorgas horace target horse anti rex all have a way bigger olfactory ratio than allosaurus. So again t. Rex is the king. It's got the best binocular vision got some of the best smelling tells a guy like the biggest head in the best bite force all that stuff. I'm not surprised mill. Aptly named which is fortuitous because when they name t. Rex are still so many other dinosaurs yet. To be discovered tweeted still holds up. It does at. It reminds me of people that are like the more i studied. He wrecks the more. I like it Or people that are like t. Rex but i learned about it and it's like oh it is actually pretty impressive. Animal But allosaurus could still have been a predator. Even without these things doesn't mean that that paper is wrong and that it wasn't a scavenger or that it wasn't scavenging more than other dinosaurs would have but i think they're assumptions that they made that week bite force and has binocular lack of binocular. Vision are the reasons for it are right. Spurious did mention the there could be future models with additional data added. Yeah oh the model thing. I didn't even get into that. But there are some comments about how it's based on mammals and we really. Don't i talked about that in the last episode. How rate it's not the same as wolf and sheep. Yeah we didn't know how many allosaurus there were versus how many solar pods in a lot of these ecosystems. There's way more predators than there are like that strollers riddle thing so the amount of carry on and all that is very very hard to determine by still think. It's a fun experiment. Yeah me too is fun to talk about And also just thinking about oh yeah. They're worse or a pod carcasses. Probably all over hadn't really thought about that before. Yeah somebody mentioned how they might have been similar to whale falls in the ocean. Where like when a whale dies and it sinks to the bomb in the ocean becomes a whole mini ecosystem for years land. The same thing could have happened with zoro pas really interesting to think about how different animals would be involved and at what times because just like with a whale fall. It's like when the whale. I hits the bottom of the ocean you get. The bigger animals come and eat like big chunks of meat but then over time it becomes like smaller and smaller stuff making up the scraps and then eventually there's something they're just like trying to get the last bit off bones or using the bones themselves. Yeah like burrowing into them next. The spinosaurus swing debate continues. Tell me about it. So there's a paper that came out called. Contribution to a discussion of spinosaurus egypt icus as a capable swimmer and deep water predator published in life by jan ginza and alright ginza. Life magazine not was my thought to know this is a journal. Okay didn't know there was a journal name life neither. I had to check twice but it is called wife. So they're basically supporting the idea of spinosaurus being a sweater and they said they believed to have coherent conclusions about semi-aquatic animals like spinosaurus. You have to base it on our metric principles considering their reynolds numbers reynolds number of an animal. Yeah that doesn't make a lot of sense. What a reynolds number sort of property of a fluid. Not of an animal right. So you're combining the characteristics of the animal with their size thou metric principles with hal. Fluid is moving around them. I think is what they mean. Okay they could just talk about the like co fiction of friction and things like that of the animal. Yeah seem simpler because they end up describing the crest of spinosaurus and how that affects how streamlined. It would be.

Nancy Marshall Ginza joins me now with the details. Good morning, Nancy. Good morning. So what exactly is the Consumer Product Safety Commission doing here? It's trying to force Amazon to stop selling these potentially dangerous products notify consumers who bought them about recalls and offered them for refunds. The commission says Amazon has taken certain actions on some products, but that's not sufficient. What types of products are we talking about here? The commission says they include 24,000 carbon monoxide detectors that don't issue any kind of alarm Kids pajamas that violate safety standards for flammable fabric and almost 400,000 hairdryers, and they were sold without immersion protection devices that prevent consumers from getting shocked. So what does Amazon have to say about all this? In a statement to Reuters, Amazon says it offered to expand its recall program, including for products sold by third parties, and it's unclear why the commission rejected that. Amazon also says it's removed the vast majority of the products in question from its site. And provided full refunds. All right. Well, thanks, Nancy. You're welcome. Let's do the numbers. But it turns out some of the Fed's peers around the world are starting to put away their pandemic relief tools. The U. S Central Bank says it's not even thinking about wanting them down this year or next. Marketplaces. Nancy Marshall Ginza takes a look at why the Fed is taking longer to get back to normal. Central banks around the world did what the Fed did poured cash into their economies by buying bonds. But now some are just starting to tiptoe away from that the Bank of Canada got things going this spring, scaling back or tapering its bond purchases. Fitch Ratings chief economist Brian Colton expects the Bank of England to wind up its bond buying by the end of this year. At this point, it sounds like they think they would have done enough by by November two cease further purchases. Other central banks are dipping a toe even further into post pandemic waters, hinting at interest rate hikes, often not those Vamvakidis is an economist at Bank of America. But then you have a number of other central banks that have already signal hikes ahead of the Fed, Vonda Katie says. The central Bank of Norway isn't just signaling a rate hike, it says Clearly it will raise interest rates this year on this side of the Atlantic Fed chair Jerome Powell has said the Fed isn't even quote thinking about thinking about trimming its bond buying. I mean, I think what the Fed is doing, which should not be underrated is watching this situation incredibly closely. Catherine Judge teaches law at Columbia University, She says there's a good reason the Fed is moving slower than its peers. It has a dual mandate. Other central banks just have to worry about controlling inflation. But the Fed has inflation and unemployment on its plate stable prices but also maximum employment. And they recognize that while we do have a lot of people returning to the workforce There's also a lot of people who remain unemployed. The Fed wants to keep interest rates low, so consumers keep spending when customers are buying businesses have money to hire more workers. "Vaccines. Backers say would increase the global supply of vaccines if more countries could manufacture them. Marketplaces. Samantha feels reports There's now enough supply of vaccines in the US that pretty much any adult who wants a shot should be able to get one soon. But in most other countries at the rate things are going that reality is years away. We don't have enough vaccines for the world now or any time in the near future. Amy Captain Ski is a law professor at Yale. And she says a big part of the reason is that the vaccines are patented. Atoms are essentially government granted monopolies. They allow you to prevent anybody else from making something that's covered by your patent, which she says is not a good idea in a pandemic. Because we want all hands on deck. You want everybody who is able to make these vaccines in a high quality way to make them and to help us put billions and billions more doses out when the next six months But waving patents alone wouldn't necessarily make that happen, says Jacob Sherko at the University of Illinois College of Law. It presumes that if we just like, write it down like it's a recipe for chocolate chip cookies. We can just like make vaccine tomorrow, and that's simply not true. Because your co says vaccine manufacturing is complicated. It needs skilled, highly specialized facilities. It needs skilled technicians to actually conduct some of the manufacturing processes, some of which are company secrets and forcing drug companies to share their patents would not force them to share their secrets. Then Cohen at Harvard Law School, says the government had some leverage here back when it was making deals with drug companies as part of Operation Warp speed. One could have imagined a version of this. Where is part of a condition of receiving funding. There was bored done to ensure access for less developed countries and sharing of technology and sharing of intellectual property. Texas governor lifts mask mandate and allows businesses to open at 100% capacity, despite health officials' warnings

"Texas Governor Greg Abbott is ending coronavirus restrictions in his state. He announced this at a restaurant in Lubbock, where he also said businesses should reopen a week from today, Quote 100%. Now this is exactly what the CDC has said not to do and these public health measures early. Sarah self Wall Brick is a senior. Order a Texas tech public media and she was there covering the announcement. Hi, Sarah. Good morning. Practically What does this mean for Texans? So governor, Abbott said that starting next week, businesses will be able to open it. Full capacity and mass will no longer be required. He says he wants businesses and other entities to make those decisions. So, for example, supermarket chain H E B has already announced that they won't require customers to wear masks in their stores. So Abbott says, people should still do. It protects them. Right eye's rescinding the statewide mandate. So here's what he had to say yesterday. Personal vigilance to follow the safe standards is still needed to contain covet. It's just that now, state mandates are no longer needed. But did he explain why now? Dad, is it just that things are looking up across Texas at least when it comes to co vid hospitalizations air down even in regions like Laredo, and I'll Passo that have seen the worst of it. Vaccinations have gotten off to a really slow start here. Texas is obviously a big populous state, but less than 7% of the population is fully vaccinated right now, which is one of the lowest percentage is in the country. So you have mixed news case is going down, but vaccinations going slowly. How are people reacting to abbots announcement? It's definitely been mixed. So based on what I've seen on social media, I think a lot of people see this is a political move, especially after the fall out of the winter storm that thousands of Texans are still dealing with. I talked with a few lobby guides after the announcement yesterday because the mask me a date wasn't well enforced anyway. Dr. Craig Ryan with Covenant Health says We're sending the mask order may not do much. And he hopes that common sense prevails. I think that the people that have grown accustomed to wearing a mask and have gotten a sense of safety and security from wearing a mask will probably continue to do exactly that. Chris Bury owns a local restaurant is president of the Loving Restaurant Association. He hopes at its announcement will lead to higher consumer confidence. If everyone feels more comfortable and getting out and going out to eat and getting back to the quote unquote normal life, that's what we're looking forward to, and that's what we anticipated. Okay, That's how many businesses I would imagine might feel, But I'm curious about medical workers. The people who work on the front lines. Did you talk to any of them? I had. So I heard from one woman in particular. Christie Ginza, Who's a nurse practitioner who's been volunteering at Love Eggs, covert vaccination hub. Have a hard time believing the governor is taking advice from medical experts. He's put in labs and our economy at risk yet

"Thank you for being with us. 809 41, Shawn, You want to be a part of this extra Rava Ginza. All right. So we've been telling you about this latest impeachment shift show predetermined outcome. And yes, it's going on anyway. No matter what, because that's pretty much the unity that Joe Biden was calling for, I guess. Every constitutional expert lawyer that I have discussed the issue with all say the same thing. Some might guess, disagree, but most say the same thing. The ones I talked to, and that is that it's unconstitutional. You know, Impeachment is for the purpose for removal from office. Well, that office is no longer held by President Donald J. Trump. So there is no purpose for the thing to begin with. It also raises the jurisdictional issues. Uh, does Congress does the Senate Does the House have jurisdiction? And, of course, the whole process of impeachment. Why the Senate? Whatever validate what the house did with their snap impeachment with no witnesses, no defense whatsoever. Eyes beyond comprehension and very dangerous precedent. Then you can add to all of this. The double standard of how we're defining insurrection, with the words of Joe Biden, Kamila Harris, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi. Let's see Maxine Waters and many others. And Star lawyer he served as the U. S Circuit Court Judge 39, solicitor general of the U. S. Course, led up the Clinton administration investigation. How are you, sir? I'm doing Great, Shawn. Thanks so much. Let's talk about your take on this. Let's start with the constitutional aspect, which should be the main Um, argument and is the main argument put out by the president's new attorney, David shown. Yes, I have not had a chance to review today's filing. But I know what it contains. And I completely agree with those who say it is unconstitutional. It's manifestly unconstitutional. And I believe Sean. It's dangerously unconstitutional and three very quick reasons. One. The text of the Constitution is to me absolutely crystal clear, and I think everybody now knows it. Impeachment is about removal. From office. Then there's a comma in the text and then and possible disqualification. Okay, so the tail doesn't wag the dog. It is all about removal 0.2. That's the text. The second is our history, in contrast to the rather obscure example of Secretary of war from the 19th century. Mr Nel Counting Now. I'm Bill now. Now we get it out. In countries that we have the resignation example of Richard Nixon and then most relevantly, the House of Representatives just stops. Complete stop of the impeachment proceedings got underway. The third is back to the text. If it is, in fact, the president added states who is being tried. It's not In the chief justice. Shall preside, and we now know the chief justice is not going to preside. It's just another indication that this is an extra constitutional. I think it's unconstitutional. Receding. Okay. I mean, there's a lot. I mean, there's a lot in what you just said there. Let's go back a step even prior to that, and that is the snap impeachment as your friend Jonathan Turley says. I think that precedent alone is extraordinarily dangerous that we're just going to rush through an impeachment. Then we'll hold on to the articles like we did the last time even though we rushed through it. No witnesses, no word from the defense, no defense, even with an opportunity to discuss or review any any evidence no witnesses brought forward Is that how to do it? Is, of course not how to do it. It is what happened was a violation off fundamental fairness to the president, now the former president, it also ties into the lack of authority of the Senate. Because of long wait, but nonetheless during his presidency, Donald Trump was then impeach. So okay, You can disagree. I certainly do with the methodology. But there's no question he's in the White House. He's holding the office. That the Constitution and the oath gave him the right to them. But then the house as we all know, sat on this article of impeachment, and as I see it, they allowed the jurisdiction of the Senate to expire. Because by the time There is no justification for the time that the article was walked over. You know, there's no national guards, people standing in the way right to prevent the house managers from walking over to the Senate. You've made that walk. I think that what a lot of citizens it's easy to do. It takes advice, like two minutes. Make that walk, and they allowed the time to expire that is for Donald J. Trump to leave the presidency, he stepped in in accordance with law. And then they're trying to impeach a former president. So now they're scrambling like who's going to preside this Constitution says it's the chief justice. Well, no, the chief justice is not going to preside, nor should he presides. So who they going to have the good they have? You know, I say, Senator Oh, United States senator who's unbiased, like the chief justice would be no. Someone who actually has come out in favor of the conviction, or at least was expressed His severe mean you can't make that up about Lady. You really can I mean and I How do you interpret the Roberts? Part of that Not to interrupt what you're saying. No. The Roberts Far First of all, I think that needs to be formalized. That is, there needs to be a formal exchange of letters where the chief justice and saying no, I'm not going to preside, the respectful and showing the right kind of respect for the Senate, etcetera. But let's let's assume it just is where it is. The fact is when the Senate goes into shock session to set as a impeachment trial when they're in that capacity, we know that something fishy is happening. Doubly so they appointed officer is not the chief justice and the person who is presiding is biased. That in itself is yet a separate violation. Of the due process rights of the former president. Yeah, I mean, it's just It's something that is amazing to me. And then you put on the presiding. I guess, a Senate distinguished senator from Vermont who has already said he believes in conviction off. You can't even make this up in this day and age. Even his craziest things have gotten let me go to the second part of this and that is that we now know from even liberal news outlets. Washington Post CNN. We're hearing from the FBI sources. We now have court documents in court filings, all pointing and then Congresswoman a Costco Cortez all even she said she'd been hearing about this unrest coming a week before..

"I'm Andy Euler. And for David Brancaccio, President Trump extended a ban on work visas and green cars that was set to expire yesterday. Marketplaces Nova Safia joins me to explain over Good morning Good morning. So many businesses have been outspoken about what this band means for them. What's the president's rationale for keeping the ban in place? The president cited lost jobs because of the pandemic and concerns about keeping the Corona virus from spreading. He's previously said he wants to keep American workers from having to compete with foreign workers. Especially with the country struggling to bring back jobs that have been lost now. The ban effects several types of immigration green cards issued abroad, mostly for the purposes of family reunification. Also worker visas, such as the popular H one B visas. Those air used a lot by the tech industry to bring in highly skilled workers and J one visas used by students and a number of others. Andy And what about the practical implications? These band boats for those immigrants and for businesses? Well, that's unclear. The extension Trump just signed would keep the bands in place through March. But these bands are largely not in effect now because business groups sued and a federal judge issued an injunction that allows most worker visas to continue. The focus now is what will the Biden administration do? Will they keep the bands in place until March? Well, we know Biden supports worker visas for highly skilled foreigners. He hasn't specifically addressed these bands, but he has bowed to undo a lot of Trump's immigration policies. Marketplaces. Nervous offer. Thanks. You're welcome.
