"Was eight were pronounced deceased here at the scene. And nights when you look at the way that this played out, according to Craig McCarter, who is the deputy chief of the I m P D. Four people were killed outside the facility as the gunman pulled up and parked, so he started firing as soon as he got there, right in the parking lot, and then another four were killed inside. On D used some sort of rifle. Now we'll get all these details all this information out maybe later tonight or the coming days, but that's the latest from the deputy chief of the I. M. P. D. Craig McCarty. Five people were hospitalized following the gunfire. But in stable condition, So I guess this could have been worse. But it's hard to even fathom that. Let's hear a little bit from Craig McCarty. He held a press conference earlier today. And he kind of went into a little bit more detail about the timeline and how this absolutely played out. You know, this suspect came to the facility and when he came there, he he got out of this car. And pretty quickly started. Some random shooting outside the facility. Can you imagine being 19 years old knights and having that much hate in your heart? You're able to pull up and just randomly shoot and kill people. Not only can I not imagine something like that I can't imagine being somebody who's a family member, a friend that works in that facility, then having to wait for hours on end to find out if they're alive or not. There were there was a FISA facility set up the Holiday Inn near the FedEx complex for families and friends and just waiting to See and find out if their loved ones were able to come out of that FedEx facility alive in communication was a real problem here because the way that FedEx functions When you are clocked in when you're working on the floor. You're not supposed to have your phone on you. It's got to be locked up or put away somewhere. You just can't have it on your person. So when something happens like this, and people have to run for their lives literally run for their lives. You don't have any communication method and so many of these families They gathered at this holiday in not knowing if their husband, wife, son, daughter, whoever it was was alive or dead. I mean, just the absolute worst is the waiting when you're a family member in a situation like that FedEx did confirm that some of their employees have passed away. FedEx did their own press conference, released a few statements earlier today and Ginny Cook of the I M P D talked about those Who may have been there and the family members of those who may have been there were asking that if you have family members.
