"NASDAQ up 382 higher by 3.1% Ten year yield 2.86% gold up 38 cents down to 1894 now while crude rallied 3.3% West Texas intermediate one O 5 36 a barrel I'm Charlie Palatin That is a Bloomberg business flash Charlie thank you and thanks for being with us on the fastest hour in politics I'm Joe Matthew At world headquarters in New York and we've got our signature panel as we hope to have on days like these when the president is asked about a recession And that is what happened today after he announced the big ask for Ukraine $33 billion we discussed that with Ed mills And it came with a bit of questioning I don't know if the communications office planned this but the president was asked about the GDP reports today the chances of this may be happening twice Have to be take a look and no one is predicting every session now They're predicting their summer predicting There may be a recession in 2023 Why did I not sure why he said that Rick Davis Jeannie with us Rick is that the answer you would have advised him No talk about putting a punctuation mark on otherwise bad news Right Nothing to worry about today but next year could be awful Yeah and why go there Why try to predict a recession when you've actually got some underlying good news to talk about today in the GDP numbers and stick to the positive And I don't know I mean maybe this was just another Biden ism We've seen this before and we're going to see it again Genie are we going to get a recession in 2023 I hope not And you know what We're going to get one in 22 You know let's hope not but you know I think the problem here is exactly what you and Ed were talking about Any time you have to explain this I can't tell you how many people I heard today AD nauseum talking about well go beyond the headline and look under the hood You know those kinds of metaphors are disastrous politically because what they're saying is the thing that people are seeing and hearing and feeling don't worry about that pay attention to this complicated thing which explains why everything you're feeling is wrong I mean to a certain extent it's like the difference between macro and microeconomics I go by hamburger it's expensive You can tell me unemployment is you know good the number is good but it's meaningless to me And that's where I think the president has to really get to He's got to talk about I feel your pain and we're here to address it and this is how you know I know that that's an uphill battle as the how but he's got to say he feels people's pain because you look at the polls there's a lot of pain out there Well that's supposed to be his strength Rick is feeling your pain Isn't that the Joe Biden you know Yeah that uncle Joe I mean empathy is his strength And yet I think he's been disconnected from the economic population since this administration started He's great on natural disasters which I hate to say that but he responded well to them But on these economic issues he's just he's just seems to be forgetting that people are impacted by this It first started when he would ignore inflation And now he's kind of throwing recession out there as something that's going to happen no matter what the administration does Jeannie as you consider the messaging around this GDP report does The White House need to prepare people for more bad news this current quarter They seem to be going out of their way to talk about the upside on this And Ed mills did too I mean look consumers are still spending that there are still real signs of strength in our economy despite what the markets have been doing lately and despite the impact of this war Yeah and I think you can do both I think surrogates can certainly say here's the flip side of this Look at there are positive signs This isn't the whole story That's fine to say at the same time they have to do both They have to say we know why the latest Gallup show poll showed four and 5 people rate the current economic conditions as fair or poor Those are big big numbers So yeah say what's positive say why you got to look beyond the headlines but acknowledge the pain people are feeling and tell them how you're going to make it better That's what they've got to do with just a few months before the midterm Well how can you make it better Rick when if this is a global story I asked Gina Gina McCarthy Gina raimondo about this earlier today If this is supply chain and COVID that's why we have inflation That's what the administration tells us Add the war that makes it worse Do we run the risk of causing a recession Rick or how likely is it that the fed causes one with interest rate hikes when this is this is a recession or an inflation that's being prompted by different factors than they have really ever dealt with That's right And we knew going into this cycle that it was going to be the fight at the fed between the guys on growth and the guys on fighting an inflation And look I mean the chairman's a growth guy I mean so you get the right people at the helm But you're right It is a global story And part of it is this lockdown in China I mean like you've talked about omicron and how that impacted us in the first quarter the war in a crane This quarter but there's been a tremendous impact to the global economy by a self inflicted severe lockdown in China that is definitely going to affect the supply chain that has been so difficult for us So the fact that the country's weather the storm as well as it has is actually remarkable it does little for the policymakers to say that but frankly I'm sure the fed is looking this and looking at these numbers saying wow this is great We still got growth And I think they will manage their part of the portfolio To ensure that that growth continues Well the question I guess is that growth is still going to be evident after a half point next week 75 basis points apparently the meeting after that Jeannie This will at some point have a heavy impact I'm assuming on consumer spending it's got to work its way through the economy and boy I don't know does that happen right around November You can't know the worst timing and that's what we keep hearing You know the recession is not imminent but look you know a few months from hours people are saying one year from now and even to have the president out there today You know while he's saying that he's going to ask Congress for $33 billion for Ukraine he's answering questions which get him into talking about a recession potentially in 2023 I mean the juxtaposition of those two things is really problematic for this White House The money is needed for Ukraine but you can bet people are going to start to ask questions This is a lot of money when the president is at the same time talking about a recession next year Rick and Genie still with us ahead as Joe Manchin swoops back in just in time.

"Up at the top of the hour. Right now, we're joined by Dr Kelly victory who you can follow on Twitter at Dr Kelly victory, and we're taking your calls at 802 22 K ABC. 1 802 2 to 5 to two to let's begin with Jim. Jim, you're on K. ABC. Hello. Hi. My question and comments have to do with Dr Kelly's view about Covid shots, any of them, triggering shingles. And I have my own personal experience without having happened. Yes, I appreciate the question, and I've been answering a lot of questions about that on social media. While there is no way to approve directly that shingles outbreak was caused by the vaccine to be clear shingles itself is a reactivation of the virus that there are cell of Iris that causes chickenpox. So anyone who has had chickenpox in the past is at risk to develop shingles. The chicken pox virus lays dormant after you've recovered from chicken pox in your spinal cord, and it can come back at any time as the shingles rash. So the the idea that many people it appears quite a few people are having outbreaks of shingles. Following the vaccine, and it is absolutely plausible that there's something about these vaccines that causes an immune response that lowers your immunity and therefore triggers an outbreak of shingles. Certainly people have outbreaks of shingles, for example, um when they're under stress when they haven't gotten enough sleep when they're otherwise ill. So I think it's very plausible, and we need to follow up on those. I've had many, many, many people reaching out to me with that question. What was your experience? What's the other? Uh What's the other common responses that you've heard from people? Is it tonight? Us. Uh, tonight is very common, which is ringing in the ears. People who either have new onset objectives or if they had tentative in the past have significant worsening of it. We've seen lots of cases of different neurologic symptoms, including bills palsy, which is paralysis of a part of the facial nerve. And we've seen people have. Obviously the blood clot issue has been significant. We've had lots of people with tingling in their fingers and toes that has become progressive and extended as far up as their elbows are higher and up to their knees, which is concerning because that is one of the the symptoms of the onset of Gillian Barre syndrome, which is a profoundly of serious A side effect, neurologic side effect where people actually become paralyzed. So we've seen lots of these neurologic things. Lots of people who have issues with vision, intermittent vision loss or temporary vision loss. Obviously, the issues with my oh card itis and pericarditis inflammation of the heart muscle that's been reported on most commonly, a younger males. But seeing that across the board as well, so a huge range of adverse events growing we now are upwards of 7000 associated deaths just on the very system, which, according to Harvard is likely under reported by an order of magnitude so that 7000 number may well be as high as 70,000 deaths. Let's go to Deborah. Deborah, you're on K. ABC. Hello? Hello. Hi, Dr Victory I'm calling about. I had the Pfizer vaccine early July and have been extremely tired until the past couple of days also had extreme vertigo. And so I went to their the reported it and like you're saying, I believe things are under reported. And now it's going for the fighter vaccine is going for FDA approval. Also, I just heard on Reuters that they're pushing the third booster in Europe, and I'm wondering if that's going to come here eventually. And should I get the second vaccine? I don't want to. But are we going to be blocked from events and traveling if we do not get the second vaccine, and then from there? Probably the third booster. Thank you. Yeah, well, there's there's no way for me to stay with certainty whether or not they will ultimately mandate these vaccines. You are absolutely correct there pushing very, very hard. FDA approval. And what the mainstream media and big tech are not telling you is that there is significant pushback amongst the medical community. Many many letters have been sent many large, you know, class action petitions have been submitted to the FDA by scientists, one in excess of 25 27 different front, You know, prominent physicians saying Stop to the FDA. Stop. Do not approve these vaccines. What we are seeing is horrific. Yet you aren't hearing about that in the mainstream media. You are hearing about the huge and growing number of adverse events and, unfortunately deaths from these vaccines. You know previous vaccines that have been launched and have had a handful in comparison of associated deaths, something like the swine flu vaccine back in 76. Which was pulled off the market after 25 associated deaths. We're talking about 7000, you know, let alone if it's in fact, under reported by the magnitude that we believe so I think. Unfortunately, people are not getting access to the real data. This is part of the problem with censorship and cancel culture in the ability of big tech. To censor people and to keep this information from the public because I am not suggesting that the vaccine doesn't make sense for some people, But you really need to go to that risk benefit calculation determine what your real risk is from covid. Are you in one of those older age categories? Do you have underlying comorbidities? And if you don't, then you need to think long and hard about whether the risk is worth the potential benefits. Let's go to Gina. Gina, you're on KBC. Hello. Mhm. Yeah. Jean, are you there? Going once going twice. No genome. Let's go to John John. You're on K A B. C. Yes, I was just wondering. What are the numbers for Children in the United States regarding Covid? In terms of if you're talking about in terms of covid guests, um, the number, according to the CDC, people under the age of 18. There were a total of 269. Death. Associated quote unquote with covid for the entire pandemic, with almost All. I think there were maybe two or three in which there was not some readily identifiable severe underlying health problem. Kids who are profoundly ill with cancer, for example, getting chemotherapy, lots of other things, but a total in the entire pandemic. People under the age of 18 was 269 all of those with the eyes, they said, with very rare exception, accountable to other things other than Covid, So the reality As Children simply don't seem to get covid. And when they get it, they just don't become significantly ill from it. There, the their risk of dying from it is as close to zero as humanly possible. It's just say most people consider the risk to be zero. You have a question for Dr Kelly Victory. Give us a call at 802 22 K ABC more of your calls coming up, but right now it's time to take a look at the roads. Yeah. You see dependable traffic emergency roadwork on the four or five South founded victory. Caltrans running a break to fill in a pothole Long.

"Only I know you're probably all wondering how How is Joey Chestnut doing? Is he all right after his, uh, world record setting 76 hot dog eating A feat on July 4th. Is he okay? Well, yes, he is. I'm still a bit bloated, said the 37 year old eating legend. If I start sweating, I smell like meat. Oh, grew well. Gina. Gina, I've been around you when you're Oh, yes. You want to finish that sentence? Well, no, because you don't stop. I was I was going to make the joke. But then I thought, wait a minute. Gina doesn't sweat. She doesn't. She doesn't do anything that would cause her to sweat glistens. I don't even think she glimpses. But he says, I smell like meat, but I I go in knowing that it's going to take a couple of days to recover as soon as I can. I'm going to start eating a salad greens and high fiber. It's a miracle that he can even consider eating anything at this point because he 7 76 hot dogs he ate. Just crazy. Yeah. As you know, you were speaking of top gun genius. You should maybe watch this if you haven't What? Uh, it's a trailer for Val Kilmer's He has directed a documentary. And it's about him. It's called Val. And it's all about his life. Now you say I should watch it. You you have a well I did watch it. Oh, you did. Okay. I like Val Kilmer. And, Yeah, he's done a Uh, documentary about himself and it looks It looks very emotional for one thing. And it portrays a celebration of what he his life and it's a fascinating life. But he's had and Iceman so, uh Don't do this with every interview. I go on. Yeah. Yeah, So there's a trailer for it. Mhm. Yeah, it looks it does look at very, very emotional and very kind of honest. Let's see. So once again the number of new covid 19 cases. Uh, here in Utah, uh, 500 well over 500 for the third day in a row. This is, uh, let's see. When was this? Story July 1st was when this was published. Um The Utah Department of Health reported four more deaths last Thursday. It's the seventh day in a row with multiple coronavirus deaths. A total of 36 were reported in the past week. Uh, 1.47 Million Utahns have been fully vaccinated against coronavirus. That's about 43%. Of the population or 70% of the population. If you do the math of the Governor caucus well, and part of part of that calculation is people that have had one vaccine not that are fully vaccinated. When we black Americans see the flag, the post red. We know the person flying. It is not safe to be around. I'm trying to take it back. When we see this flag. We know the person flying. It is a racist. Lex, I I agree with that. Those were my feelings when I would see someone in a big truck driving around town with a giant American flag flying off the back. I made those assumptions. About the people that were driving that truck and I don't like feeling that way about it, and I'm trying to take it back Elect Scott, founder of Black lives matter in Utah, said she knows the Post would cause she knew it would cause a reaction. Scott says she was angered by photos of a far right group Patriot Front. Marching through Philadelphia this past Saturday, carrying the American flag. The march was disrupted by counter protesters who chased them away. Patriot Front is a white nationalist take group that formed in the aftermath of the Unite the right rally in Charlottesville. They're flying American flags. The Ku Klux Klan is flying American flags. The proud boys are flying American flags..

"Okay we're not. We're doing this in front of men anymore. Like this is now the this is serious now so in my mind i was like this is like i can't deny this anymore and i love it and i feel so great and sort of long story short after all of this you know. She ended up being my girlfriend my first girlfriend and over thanksgiving of my sophomore year. She's a senior. i was a sophomore. She lived in pennsylvania but not too far away and thanksgiving night. I was texting her. And i was like come over. I was like just come over. And she's like all right so she drove like the two hours or hour and a half to come see me late at night and she spent the night the next morning the next morning like like. She's not into the house within the house. My mom's asleep. My dad is spent the night the next morning. She woke up in my clothes. And i was like mom this is. This is gina gina. My mom was like okay. My sweet blah blah blah blah and. I'm gagged don. Then later i had the conversation of like i'm into women i like women. I'm gay and i'm going to be with women. I told my dad and my mom and my brother who are my immediate family. This episode of taste taylor is brought to you by coors pure. I think depending on the gender that that the generally coincides without their parent. I think that that they have a little bit of a harder time with it. And i actually. I think it's important to discuss a normalize that when you come out i think people think it's like very black or white. It's either oh my god. We always knew sitting here to alert thumbs waiting in rare. It's like get out of the house packer bags. Never talk to go to gay camp. Pray the gay away all the stuff but a lot of us live in the middle where your parents are probably very progressive and evolved in probably liberal socially liberal at the very least. And you're like wait. You're cool right with our with my little sister's like friend trespassing like like you guys are so cool. But it's there's just a little bit of a stutter step when it's your own child and i've actually through talking about my story and sharing with other people i think it's because if someone's listening right now wanted to come out or scared come out or did and they're struggling with it. Like i think that really normal for a parent to kind of have to kind of go through a transition of their own. I talked about this alonso. Tremendous with andy's mom. I've talked about this with my mom and like at first. I was kind of upset because she wasn't like that. Let's unicorn this. But the more i got to know the more my mom understood you know that this was a real thing that this was coming into it you know. Parents have an idea of their child in their head when they're born and they put all these expectations visiting your your life and then they have to mourn that idea. I wonder to get into this new one. My parents are fucking amazing. My mom buys all of my girlfriends gift. She tax them like. My mom is amazing. And my parents love taylor donahue more than me we'll crush. That's a taste taylor episode. Sleep whom okay. Well who just saying weirdness going chippy alone. You have to mourn that sort of idea of them and my my mom didn't she came around very quickly and i think that's sort of important we do live in in the middle of it and i will say to anyone that might be thinking of coming out. I knew who my parents were. I never was worried about my parents. Not loving me. You're kicking me out of the house or cutting me off financial aid and i think that you need to really reassess who your parents are and if you feel that your life is in danger or you need you're using your parents are going to kick you out of the house. I don't recommend coming out. I do not because you should never put your life at risk way to be independent from them not. I don't encourage everyone to come out all the time because it's not safe to do so. And so you kind of have to take that own your own sort of assessment on it my dad. When i told my dad he was like great. We can talk about women. He's like a man like women. Women like women. Women are sexy. Way better looking. They're way smarter way better. He was like i'm bugging in. My brother said the same thing. He was like cool so it was really my siblings. My siblings are a lot younger than me and they're very millennial and one gen z. And they were like awesome. Yeah we got. We support ears. Remember my nash. Right off the jump. The my mom was not and then my mom came around and was great and then my dad started to get a little bit weird but my said to me. Just keep on being us like. That's the thing. Your parents are freaked out. You're just going to become a different person and you're not you're just this is such a it's not a small piece of but ultimately like sexuality is justice. It's a sliver of the pie. And i feel like when you are. Lgbtq wa it becomes like the whole pie and we're so much more than just the you know the people we are actually tried to in the people we love. Times are better. I've been out now for fourteen years almost half me when i was when i came out in nineteen games weren't allowed to get married. Queer was a bad word. No democrat because we expect the democrats ran on gay marriage at the time was the a union may be or bust like there. Wasn't this whole new vocabulary of color for terms and this and that and you know kind of letting your kid really develop into the who were being you know now. I think it's pretty obvious that gay people can have babies like you know when i say back then. A lot has changed in the gay community even in fifteen years show. I and i'm not saying it's acceptable but like my mom was go. I want i want grandkids. And i was like okay. Well it's my life. And what if i was infertile or didn't want kids and she was like that's a very good point. It just wasn't the it wasn't the first step and now. I think it's very obvious that gay people are just like everyone else and can give birth and this and were successful. I know we're not mercury but fifteen years ago it was very yano. I mean like they weren't you couldn't get married like you couldn't get married. And it was really just and they didn't have had bisexuality with shoes weren't even a fucking thing being gender non conforming. That wasn't an idea like that wasn't anything. I'm not saying they did it exist. I'm just saying that it wasn't a thing that anyone talked about. And so now. Like i say to you like of the lgbtq. I i would say that the els jeez and the bees are probably the least interesting people. I interviewed nick cannon a while ago and i was like hey. I'm a new lesbian. Ooh i'm interesting gasoline. Something and he was like that's an interesting pick up friends. Exactly we're we're just like everyone else. Related monogamous stupid. People like i love that. I do love that that it's like it's so normally always wanted us to be normal. I always felt a little weird about pride. Parades be honest with you. When i talked about this a lot time. You're on we were talking about the pride parade that we were we were world. It was a fiftieth anniversary. Private it was. It was never been you. Were on the bravo flow with an in house.

"As quarantine hey was tested for the virus went to the hospital when he went to the hospital for an unrelated health issue, he says it is surprising. That I got it because the virus is Is about 90 something percent effective, But that doesn't mean that it's always there. Story of see that should they shouldn't do a story about this because that's the kind of thing that will get passed around. You see why I'm not going to get the vaccine. This guy had both, and he still got it. It's 95%. Effective. Yes, there are gonna be random stories of people that got the vaccine and contracted. Why don't we do stories of the thousands of people that have gotten the vaccine and not Goddamnit? Because they're not anomalies? But this, but they should because they're not. They're not on Facebook and people go see, And then there's good people here every day. Every day. I'll do store. I'll do dozens of stories about how how many people got the vaccine and are not getting the coronavirus. But there there are a couple people that have died after getting the virus in this are getting the vaccine. This one. It's not bring that up. But it's not They who knows what they died from people just Because they got the vaccination doesn't mean they're died from the vaccine. But those of the stories that get passed around and people on Facebook or like this is why I'm not getting in and it's not the effective and people are dying and people are getting it anyway. I don't think you should do those stories for that reason. Sorry. I'm going to do him anyway, because they're an anomaly, and that's an interesting side side. Note to what's going on. Um, the Utah Department of Help. I'm sorry to tell you this, Gina, but we only had 514 cases of coronavirus. Um maybe I shouldn't mention that because Because people will think that things will go getting better and see what you can't. You can't win. So you just do the stories as they come up and as they have some interest 514 cases of covert 19. That's an incredibly low number. But don't get complacent. Yes, because that's the spike after New Year's and Christmas and now it's it's gone down. And it'll come back after Super Bowl on Valentine's theme new report shows Utah's rolling Seven day average for the number of positive test is 1133 per day, and the seven day average for the total was 15. 0.4 s So as of Monday. Um 417,000. 24 vaccines have been administered in Utah and the Health Department is saying we Feel fairly sure that part of the reason that the numbers of cases air going down is because people are getting vaccinated, being vaccinated and very few if any of them are getting Cove it after the second dose. I'll just add that I think this the Gina Gina's Health Department would like me to add that Let's see. Utah County had hundreds of unfilled covert 19 that scene appointments on Monday. There was a mix up now. That doesn't mean that The unused doses will go to waste their being reallocate ID for use later this week, But people were kind of upset and wondering what wait what's going on? Because the whole vaccination center was just Empty. What? There should be people here, but there was a mix up in the communications on people were not showing up for the test. They were for the vaccines that they were supposed to. They'll get him. They said. Don't worry, they'll get them. In Salt Lake County. The administration off the doses is going pretty pretty smoothly, although there was kind of a glitch. He was yesterday or the day before. They had a whole bunch of extra doses. And so they sent out notifications to people who were on a waiting list. We have a whole bunch of extra doses if you would like to come and get one of the mountain. West Expo Center. Come and get one If you have the proper documentation common, Show it and we'll give you the and so So many people showed up of those that were invited that there were long lines and people were waiting for, like, two hours. I'm just glad people are that Anxious to get it. That's a good that's a good thing. I think the impeachment trial begins today of the impeachment of Donald Trump 78 Page brief submitted to the Senate On the eve of the trial, The lawyers asserted that Mr Trump did not direct anyone to commit unlawful actions or deserve blame for the conduct of what they called a small group of criminals who stormed the capital. They said that was former president. They said that the former president's rash of falsehoods about a stolen election delivered in a rally outside the White House before the pro trump mob mounted its assault were protected by the First Amendment. Um, because there's the fire in a crowded theater defense of that. I mean, I think they think the states Lawyers can dismiss that pretty easily because that's the same thing you can't you can't incite violence. It's inciting violence, which I guess it Z It's important to go ahead with this. But it's just seems to be a foregone conclusion that That he won't be convicted. Yes I do so the first thing we want to realize realized is that it's super natural. Not Supernatural like weird poltergeist. But very natural when you're going on a journey of growth in evolution that there's GonNa be some pretty significant changes between you and the people you are in relationship with what I want you to get. Is that currently you. have it set up as though your the victim victim as though people are holding you back at their energetically holding you back. Stop Stop at that. Gina is vital to realize that no one is holding you back you need need to take responsibility for who's in your life and the impact that you're allowing them to have on you. The next important thing to remember is that every relationship has a beginning a middle and an end sometimes relationships naturally come to a close because you guys are just on different paths. That's natural and that happens. In other circumstances I know this is going to get a little. It'll deepened morbid. Potentially but it's the truth even if you have a wonderful relationship at some point one of you guys is going to die. was that horrible. That I said that it's the truth right so clinging onto this idea of permanence in anything especially relationships just set you up for failure. We are and we don't want to do that so you're not leaving anyone behind. It's just that your path is going in a different direction than their past their growing to. It's just doesn't look the same. As is your growth. Final point to remember is that you want to lead by example. So if you're discovering all these new pool things about personal development spirituality. Don't become a spiritual SNOB. We all hate that so. Don't be defensive or judgmental or look down on other people because you think that you got all the answers in that's altogether and these poor fools on the side on honey. That's not the way to do it. You have to lead with love and compassion and understanding Mama Maria Cisco Oh as Martin Luther King Junior says darkness cannot drive out darkness. Only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out. Hate only only love can do that.
