"Whatever a donkey could possibly Is could possibly live on a donkey one tenth of that. Then hi okay. So in your. It's about thirty six pounds Which is either really big loaf or lots of smaller which is which which is interesting because it would mean. It was really generous meal for gideon to give to a stranger that he didn't even know what god and then later was like god. Oh my gosh again hospitality. Such a dry big gave. God oh this jesus on that aspect load of jesus. Okay so i wanna talk about a shira and ashira polls so we in the story. It's mentioned that gideon cuts down the ashira polls and it's like woods that i don't know what that is so ashira was this big time. Message tamen goddess in. Her name means a lot of things. One of them is the lady who walks on the sea. Which is the dope est. Name of samaria But she's often associated with trees tree of life a lot of her image when you see her in imagery she's got a tree with her and she was kind of seen as the mother of the gods akon sort of a lot of different gods so when you are thinking of zeus and he has the counterpart of jupiter. This is kind of the same thing. When a was talked about with the god l. She was a sheer when she was talked about with bail. She was latte so jose deity. Same kind of thing. She was often worshipped by women. And at this is actually referenced jeremiah. Seven forty four. They would keep household idols of her probably until around the sixth century bc. Men were into assure as well since you know they got so mad at gideon for chopping polls down Now her worshippers would erect these giant polls. This story kind of indicative of trees as sacred places temples and ashir polls are actually prohibited in the jewish law code in deuteronomy sixteen twenty. One it says you shall not plant any tree as an a sheera beside the altar of the lord's forgot..

"So is that because like it feels like one a school or version or thailand was kinda comfortable with The the reality of bill and then the other one was like actually. Let's not even acknowledged that this guys around you know it's interesting actually gonna talk a little bit about the deities of this time in a little bit so i'm going to save that guy. Gajah keep that question and he put it is reminder to our listeners that as you know we are deep in the bible that sometimes things can be worked out on a whiteboard essentially by the writers of the bible and it doesn't mean that god didn't was like that's school. You can do that like it wasn't like guy could have said. Oh yeah. I want you to know. Absolutely no one hundred. And i think i think whatever whatever form we received the bible in now right which i know this is crazy but it has just been so recently on the grand scheme of time that we have completed set bible and we don't even have a completed set bible because there are different denominations and branches of christianity. That have different ones so the the the idea of well. We got our protestant bible. And that's it is so not even true and also very new. Joe it's just important to remember that. Okay so let's max. You mentioned that this angel of the lord may be the often and this this is a term that we've talked about christoph anita baffoni and basically this means like god appearing as a person or as you know in a way that humans can see them and this is actually an example of one of the times that the angel of the lord was actually probably god because of the way it it goes back and forth it moves between the angel of the lord said this and then the lord himself said this so it's probably the same entity it's it may be that god came down with an angel and then they all just kind of had a conversation. But that's not really mentioned and so we can pretty much assume that the angel of the lord here is a reference to ya feels like the editors not doing great. So far editors like if god comes and he's going to be a person is he like scrawled. Does he become the first person he sees. Or it's he like you know what osama mbia tiny lady. I think he gets giant man. I don't know i. I think he he. I think i don't know that's a great question. Glasses groucho marx glasses and mustache. Gideon's time idea. That god has is like i'm going do some fun time like doing weird stuff but like dominic humored stuff like that. Okay so let's talk about gideon's panara attributes. I'm so there is a weird word in here and it's minka which is translated as 'gift so sometimes in scripture. This word is used to mean a gift us of mission and sometimes it's used to mean a offered because you offended someone for instance earlier today. Jamie offended me by talking about how. I like to wear a jacket in the office right and rail because you're free and so she. She knew that she would offend me. She knew that she was wrong. Ryan so she brought me cake. Okay jamie was you're welcome. You're it's you well..

"Got has not changed. He is still not bothered by doubts. And our fears. The phrase fear not is in the bible more than three hundred and fifty times over and over in scripture. God met folks in the middle of their fears. Now maybe you like me in. The past have read fear not in the bible kind of an angry command. Like how you be scared. But i'm here to tell you when god tells us not to be afraid. It is not an admonishment. It is a reassurance. It is god who sees all and knows all and works all things for the good of those who love him gently reminding us that he is in control and that's really great For my so who cares. I wanna talk a little. Bit about my Favorite movie ever the godfather And i was thinking about this because throughout the trilogy the main character michael corley relies on this character called the Constantly area which Is an advisor to help make decisions right and in the second movie. Michael changes something about the Adviser position because he tells us that they are two very different kinds of constantly aries the wartime advisor and the peacetime advisor in both exists for obviously two very different reasons and kept thinking about this constantly airy dynamic as we targeted step. So because you know. I standard gideon who This is a guy for who Once he feels the assuredness battles and extremists are no problem for him. Three hundred verses one hundred thirty five thousand. He doesn't care about because he's faithful. He's obedient He's in that regard is very much a wartime constantly right but seemingly when there were no battles to fight. That's when gideon got into a little bit of trouble. And i think there's a good parallel here because A lot of messages bible studies podcasts. Whatever they're dedicated to. What do you when things get tough. What do you do in the heat of battle. What do you do in the heat of temptation. What did you in. The tensions are high. And it's not one hundred percents easy to make smart decision and i think you know a lot of Material is dedicated. This because i think christians get excited to talk about tribulation and in doing so they routinely missed were mris words like persecution or spiritual warfare and apply them to settings in things. That don't deserve these kinds of designations. But i don't think as much attention is devoted to who we are In times of peace right in the minutiae of the day when there are no battle sulfide or persecution suffered. ll what do you do and to me. I think there should be more conversation about who we are during the less exciting moments because who you are in line at the grocery store who you are while you're being waited on at restaurant that's who you really are and i think it's easy to be different person in heightened situations but it's hard not to be who you've always been in the dramatic moments of life and this is important because to me. These dramatic moments.

"But i'm still not really sure why he did this. I did see charles virgin said. Perhaps he made it Not to be warm but to be looked at to remind. The people of the worship of god and not to itself be worshiped which i would say if you guys know anything about the israelites. That's one hundred percent not what they're gonna do in. Don't think that's what they do. Anything about christians at any point in history love to turn a simple into an idol. Eleven favorite thing. Yes verse twenty eight days. Realize humiliated median. The miniskirt was broken. The land had rest for forty years during gideon's time. Okay so getting goes on just to in his story. He goes on to live a very royal life. He had a bone wives and concubines. Which again got in clearly saying to everyone have one life not more than one so i think. That's why people in a prostituting themselves. 'cause you had seventy funds seventy signs and then bible tells us when Gideon died at a quote. Good old age. Who what that is. The israelites remembered his legacy and continued to worship. God happily ever after psych. That's not what happened. Before gideon's body was even cold. They started worshiping pegging. God's again yet again. different verse. Same as the. I i love it i love it. I love it so much so That's a story for today. Let's go ahead and do some superlatives here Jamie for you. Who takes in this episode. I actually think it's people who lava fleece of people in my life. I mean really specific. I probably have five people in my life right now but i know this is how they determine god's will is the wet hoodie model they tell god is what you wanted to make all the lights green and i think what this is is a testament to gotta put up with that for a minute. If you're gonna lead an army to battle the enemy yeah. I don't know that he's going to do that. Just for you to decide whether you should go to jamaica or did the bahamas the summer. Yeah i do think out of the old testament context. I don't think that's a very valid way of verifying choices and decisions. You're making so we have that they didn't have. I'm gonna give mine too. I think i'm going to give him the camels. Because i felt like a lottery now in the story and like they feel like they're really set up to kind of rule you know the the domesticated animal animal roost. And then because of this. I felt like they take a huge l. Like we don't really think of them like that anymore. We don't you know. I think about the stories of hannibal storming rome With the on elephants you know. I think elephants seemed like a cooler battle animal now compared to camels. Because i think when. I think about this balanced thing. The campbell's got discombobulated. They were spitting on everybody and everything. Yeah and then like that was the end of them as like a meal milk. Now we all have dogs in our house like what dogs are great. Even though god is not cool dogs we still are like yet love him. Yeah one basset hound that does literally nothing does even guard the house. And i'm like she's like the price of my life so whatever Jimmy who are what is the mvp pt..

"We wanted to find eat and he was like look. You did so good. Look at these heads. You brought me heads. And they're like okay you're right. We're great as they say and keep fighting and then gideon fights on he comes to suck us. Which is my favorite place. It's a three hour but the name is so appropriate because he gets the second thing he says to the second guy he's like. Hey you give my troops some bread and a place harassed because they've been blown on trumpets and break jars and they're super tired and because i have to leave here and go capture the two kings of median and i love that the skies are like so have you killed them yet and he's like You know. I haven't. I just told you i haven't i gotta go get them and they're like well. I mean like it's kind of disappointing. So he says. Let me say okay. I'm going to get those things and for that when i get done. I'm going to whip you with thorns and briars weightier till i get back and gideon. Y'all password he did that exact thing plus he tore down. The second tower eighty killed all the minnesota and then the two kings had captured. He killed them and he took their camels. Nicholson just give him some bread. Was it worth it guys. Yeah you're all dead now anger tower's gone so you feel good about that choice. Yeah amazing So let's go to Chapter eight verse. Twenty two It says the men of israel said to get him rule over us. You your son your grandson forgive deliver us from millions power and get into them. I will not over you normal. My will my son will love you. The lord will rule over use a great incredible jehovah's eight sent. Jesus cheer it's a. It's a it's really well done. And this is where it gets interesting for me because in verse twenty four. Getting wait a minute. It did not get interesting to you when he is like god. I need a wet hoodie right now. No when he's like. I'm a i'm smash jars and playing trumpets and that's how we're gonna win the war. That was interesting to me. This is where we get character interesting because Getting says. I would like to make one request. Each of you give me an earring from the plunder you have taken the million gold earrings because they were ishmaelites That is seems like it makes sense danger. I don't understand what that means. Somebody clarify that for twenty five. The feels that we're happy to give you. During so spread out a garment each one airing from his plunder onto it. "Okay so verse. Twelve now the midnights the amalakites and the people from the east covered by swarming locusts. Their camels could not be counted. They were as new innumerable as the sand on the seashore. You mentioned it in your like where we're at here Evidently the israelites were super scared. Camels and i find that hilarious. I actually love this. Huge camels are huge. They are born review. Spit really far. You guy yeah us over thirteen Thirteen when getting arrived her man telling another man about dreamy had the man said. Look i'd dream. I saw stale cejka barley bread rolling into that camp. It hit a tent so hard it knocked over and turn it upside down. The tent just collapsed of reporting. The other man said without a doubt. This symbolizes sort of gideon. Son of joash. She has relied. God is handing median and all the army over to him. I'm sorry what is happening. You guys first of all the fact that like because we get dreams all the time and normally dreams in the bible are always with somebody who's actually not one of god's chosen people are like an israelite right and it's an israelite who comes in and it's like let me interpret this very i the god was like. I don't think it too scared. He will not get the meaning of the barley cake. Yup so i need this other guy to be like. Wow what an interesting dream that was specifically about getting in and how he's going to get the money and it's just so on the knows it's a delight it is i just. This random guy talks about his dream and the one listing is like okay. That's one hundred winning. I know we're down a hundred and thirty four thousand seven hundred to three hundred but we're definitely winning because of the cake thing but i did see charleston region said Barley meal was Food for dogs or cat. It was like poor food. It was a food for people. Poverty ran so The idea of this despise thing of poverty. Upending somebody in privilege that is a pretty heavy symbolic Jets would resonate with so I fifteen when getting heard the report of the dramatists reputation. He praised god. Then he went back to camp and say get up for the lord is handing a million i army over to you because the barley cakes. You'll figure later. He divided that three hundred into three units. Because again. not a to do here. So you can only have three units. He gave them all trumpets and empty jars with torches inside them. He said to them. Watch me and do as i do watch closely. I'll go to the camp. Do as i do. When i in all her with me bore trumpets. You also blow your trumpets around. The camp didn't say for the lord and for gideon Jamie how you feel about this battle plan so far okay. Why does everyone have. A trumpet is an ancient walkie-talkie. Like is this also this. Louis armstrong trumpet or is the theft. Is this one of those ram horns. Yeah i feel like it's probably a ram home. Not louis armstrong visual. That's kind of what i'm going to have like. You got a backpack where you put his trumpet. I gotta carry a torch it ajar. How big is that jar air. I want your answer all these questions. That i have and uniquely i earn suited this because i think this is a theater kid. Fever dream of like you're going to win this war with the arts and drama and they do this. Maybe her favorite bobble story. We'll get into hundreds of the of the campaign at the beginning of the middle watch. Just after they had changed the guards. They blew their trumpets and broke the jars. They were carrying Verse twenty all three units lou. The trumpets and broke their jars. They i honestly..

"The lord said to gideon with the three hundred men who laughed. I will deliver the whole army. And i will hand over to you. The rest of the men should go home. I say the men who were chosen took supplies and their trumpets getting sent. All the men of israel back to their homes. He kept only three hundred men now. The media nights were came down below in the valley So verse nine that night. The lord said to getting up exclamation point attack the camp for i'm handing it over to you but if you're afraid to tack go down the camp with era your servant and listen to what the other hussein then you will be brave and attack the camp so he went down with jira his servant toward the centers regarding the camp again this very very emotionally astute god dealing with gideon us because he already knows he's afraid right gideon is which that tells us like okay. You're download history. Her men gideon has not gotten braver. He not even that. He's got braver. Because right the thing is if you do scary things when you're scared if you're brave right but it's like he's so fearful and god knows and he's like let me give you an option. Are you so scared. A little despite all the wet heady staff and me picking out one by one these guys go out of this camp and see what happens and i like that instead of getting and being like no because i feel like a lot of people would be like no. I'm reading about it. I'm ready. Let's go and he was like okay. Good can't yeah. You know and i think we talked a little bit about the center up so with sophie about captain. Marvel about the god being different to different people. And maybe that's super self-centered or maybe that's how it is who knows but to me. I see an example. Here of god being different to a person who needed him to be different. And and a lot of ways. If you've ever Played sports or done any activity with like a coach. Authority your advisor or manager. Whatever i i know that coaches have treated me different than other kids. Some kids need to be yelled at. I was a kid. I yelled at i. Would i would break down in like and shelter myself but if you could kind of talk competently to me and like chill with me. I would do whatever you want it to. And i think that's like that's getting here. Rasi of gideon of just a guy who needs to be hand held a little bit but when he is hand held he's capable of really great things. Yeah it's no secret. "And i within the ranks some more when i say this one should This one should go with you. Pick him to go. And i say this one should not go with you. Do not take him again. The clarity here is immense. It is so detailed lake. Really god's seating. Mikey no yes yes. Absolutely not the worst heck no so i so. We brought them down to the wire. Then lord said gideon separate those who laughed the water as a dog laps from those who kneel to drink for six only three hundred men laughed with their hands to their mouths the rest. The men kneeled to drink water I i love this. This is one of the stories that has always stuck with me amezquita. this is why I still to this day. Have to sit Facing the door and restaurants. Because i've internalized the thing of like you got to be able to look around and know what's up around you while you eat or drink stuff really 'cause like this whole thing. I just thought what is difference in lapping up the water like a dog. It's still coming from the river or cupping your hands a drinking that way. Is it just a classy nece issue like we just don't want the dog people come in. I don't understand the difference in the waters all like it's just it's literally it's the same water okay. So and this'll be great for. And because i i may have misinterpreted this wrong my whole life. My thought was The the men who are doing it with her hand the hand loppers. If you will right they are able to keep their is around. Be a alert right while the dog. Lepers are just like head buried in the water. Don't really care what's going on. Okay that makes sense okay. Yeah correct no. I like that though. Because i was just like i don't understand like why are you being so rude about the p- like you just gotta drink. But that just shows you i am also. I'm the opposite of you i am like i don't wanna look at the door. I don't wanna get distracted by my adhd focus on what the meal. We're trying to stay frosty up year. And that's about my surroundings. But i do think the logistics of this had to have been insane because you know You've got ten thousand people and gins run around being like you're you're drinking like a dog go. You're out of here. You're you're lapper stay with me. I know and like but yourself in the situation you started with thirty two thousand man. You're fighting an enemy. That you know has tortured all of you for seven years and suddenly people are leaving. And you're like what is the common and now donator. Like those guys were scared okay. Yeah we don't need them. We just need the ten thousand brave guys but then for it to go from ten thousand down to three hundred. I think if. I'm one of the three hundred. I'm like this was like this is not worked out for me. Yeah and did you. Did you see a number associated with the media night forces. no. I didn't. I found one so we're starting with Thirty two thousand thirty two thousand Israelites then we go down to release twenty two. We go down to ten. Go to three hundred right. I saw sources that said the midnights were probably around one hundred thirty five thousand down. No okay so you already outnumbered win. The dog lepers were there. That's right that's right. Yup going to get much worse. And i do think god accomplish his goal of like if they win. It's straight god style Which is true. So good which the best part is coming which is not only. Is it just going through. I decide what the weapons are. It's going to be theater guys and that's gonna be a matter of conflict over seven..

Confide for himself and so that's when they change his name that bail can contend with gideon and so the media nights who are the enemy right. They decide they're going to take care of this. "We're gonna gideon it on if you will. You will see that hurts feelings. I think okay so in this episode We really just have two primary characters that were dealing with. The first one is of course. Gideon gideon was the youngest son of joash who is in the clad of the abuse writes in the tribe of manasseh and manasseh. If you remember is in the twelve tribes of israel it's like a sub tribe of joseph. Manasseh was the son of. Joseph now gideon. It's considered really the greatest judge in israel's history despite nowhere in judges him being referenced as a judge sure. Yeah she's great so but he's also he's so great that he's in the hall of faith in hebrews chapter eleven in the new testament now. His name gideon means hewer which. I did not know what that i love when name fights are like it means. You're you know you're our. I don't know what any of these words mean. Can you be more specific right. Hewer is a person who cuts would or style so good job now in the middle of this episode. You're going to hear that. His name is weirdly gonna change to add jeb bail gerbil. I don't love that moment just so you know. No and it is a very antagonistic name. Because it's mainly bail will contend with this person which i don't like now also just about gideon most of you probably know you've heard of gideon's international matt is they distribute free bibles in your hotel rooms and all over the world and in their logo. It represents the story of gideon in the gideon's international logo. An archaeologist in southern israel have found a thirty one hundred year old fragment of a jug with five letters written in ink that appear to represent the name. jared bail. I love that a little historical. The lower lobe archaeology archaeology corn preview. Like that like lose. Bouche of it So more about casting. Gideon had a lot of trouble here. Because i think this person of renown I don't know that we're gonna spend a ton of time with them. You know so. I was trying to figure out what was a who is a person who has a lot of renown In certain circles but also maybe came into that renown a little later right because as we get into gideon. It's it's almost like he's there waiting on something it doesn't it hasn't happened yet for him so For me i'm. I'm looking for a similar kind of actor who has may be experienced success later in life on behalf of the critical acclaim early on but just most of the you know wasn't very commercially appealing. So i landed on..

"Then we'll solve the puzzle and this is like the first time that these two bitter their entire life rivals and of working together. The magic that ends up solving the puzzle is okay. So you're a necker manser. You work with bones all the time. Imagine if you use them imagine if you used your powers on a living person. What would that be like. And that's not something that are bone mansor has done before so herro sort of like uses her magic to go inside gideon's head to like knock control her but see her senses. Thank you we have. House newsouth rules they. It is very academic One of the reasons. Why the middle of this book. I think could be impenetrable to some readers is because it hinges on a lot of people talking very high falutin academic e- about death. Magic and gideon has no access to how any of that works like. She knows that it works. She knows that people can do it but it is not a thing she can do and so it's just a lot of people just talking about that a lot. 'cause a lot of the puzzles. There's eight puzzles that they have to solve which represent the eight different types of magic skills that they have to learn after they've piece them all together they will figure out how to become a lichter and then they can serve the god king. Of course. there's a monster in the basement that seems to be killing people. Silicone: Should We Be Scared?

"Had someone damn me about a shampoo that i said. I'm going to try this out. That has silicon in it just behalf. I was like be careful. Like a scorpion. Sorry silicon let's talk about. Silicon is varying types as well so it's such a broad topic but silicon is almost like i want you to think like remember back in school when he used to contact your books yes and it was a lovely film and protected you books. That's what silicon is doing your hair. it's kind of almost like a plastic coaching. I guess when they kind of wax apple's so my personal viewpoint my hey love silicon. Same my hair is dead. So i treat it differently and your harry said to. Everyone's harry's did mine extra data in damaged. Everyone's hey on the hate is dead pertains whereas your skin is living so it's quite different. You can nourish them in different ways. What silicon dossiers goes on and it does the head but it kind of feels in the little pothole. So you've got pot holes in your hair strand and it would be nice to drive down if you were driving but still can goes in and fill in those potholes and makes the hair shaft look nice uniform and shiny and most of us wanted us shampoo and conditioner to make our hair shiny. The argument is it's not actually making your hey healthy it's making it look and feel healthy which i kind of understand because again another analogy. It's kind of like a barrier cream skin without trading it under the barry. Exactly so what you would be doing. I guess the barry kramer's you've got all your delicious nourishing serums underneath. But then you you barry cream on top so i guess the argument is it's kind of creating this karting and other stuff con gideon. That doesn't bother me so much because it's not like i'm trying to fade a live organism. I just want it to look and feel shiny and not be naughty when i'm trying to brush it when it's wit which silicon

Pointless Miracles with Michael Zwaagstra

"Today we have returning guests michael's wag stra author of the naked man flees. Welcome back to the show. Michael well thank you very much. It's a pleasure to be back with you. And i'm looking forward to part two of our discussion. Not many make it to the part to man. I thank you for coming back. I appreciate it. Oh you're welcome that's I think it's good to have the types of discussions and to W- there's far too many people whatever side of the issue you're on it's so easy to stay within her own little bubbles and where it's safe and we just affirmed by people all the time we all spend more time talking to people who have different opinions and challenge ourselves absolutely totally agree. And that's why we're here today so last time we left off. Oh actually this time. We're gonna talk about a little bit more about your book. Chapter twenty four twenty five and forty. But before we get there. We left off with gideon. And i kind of wanted to touch base with that story for a minute. That's okay not a problem. So gideon tested yala with the fleece on the ground to see if it was to be wet and whatnot. Malachi tested y'all way as well romans twelve to y'all we want you to test him but that kind of contradicts matthew. Four seven deuteronomy six sixteen. Which tells you do not test do not put the lord god to the test. I see this as a contradiction. How do you see this. Well i i would see it differently. And i think it's important for us to talk about getting. We need to put his story in context and historic can be found in judges chapter six in. It actually goes on for several chapters The israelites in this case are oppressed by million. And god has directly called gideon to lead the israelites out of oppression to lead to leave to victory. god has guaranteed victory to get in. He does so explicitly early on in chapter six

European Medicines Agency Finds AstraZeneca Vaccine Safe And Effective

"The committee has come to a clear scientific conclusion. This is a safe and effective vaccine. It benefits in protecting people from covid nineteen with the associated risks from death and hospitalization outweigh the possible risks. That was the head of the european medicines agency. So the positives came as several countries in europe dealing with a new surge of cases so there was a lot of urgency and figuring this out really quickly and now the ama has repeated their sense that the vaccine is safe as we heard there but reportedly they're also going to add a warning label to the shot so the medical community can be on the lookout for potential rare complications. They basically reviewed millions of cases they said and found that there was not an increased risk of the clots but this appears to be a precautionary measure given that some of the cases were deadly. They did confirm a small amount of dangerous cases though it's not inclusive whether they were actually related to the vaccine

Interview With Gideon Mendels, CEO Of Comet

"We're so excited to have with us today given mendel. Who's the ceo and co founder of comet so high gideon and thank you so much for joining us today jeff million. Hey you're on. Thank you so much for having me. I'm super excited to today. We'd like to start by having you introduce yourself to our listeners. And tell them a little bit about your background and your current role at comment definitely so as you mentioned. I'm the ceo and co founder of comment For the listeners. Who don't know comet provides a self hosted in college based missionary platform essentially on data science teams to track impair explain and optimize experiments models company support some of the biggest and best enterprise machinery teams in healthcare attack media financial services and other industries Her son who actually started maker of software engineer but she sixteen years ago. And i shifted do working on an applied machine learning about seven years ago. I was a grad student whilst work work on speech processing natural language processing after that i had my own start up again in. Nlp space. And after that. I was google Where i was working on deep learning research specifically we were working on detecting hate speech on youtube comments using the malls. Yeah that's that's really a great application. In general for automated systems is very hard for for humans to just manage the mountains of tasks that are needed for moderation. So great use of of a and a great applied use of ai. It's cool that you bring into that so let's sort of bring us into now. I know what you're doing with commented lot of it's helping people make these better models and and iterative battle and manages models so maybe you could tell us a little bit in our listeners. About what are some of the challenges that organizations face today when they're trying to build machine learning models into production That's a great question. And i liked it. Use the word build rather than deploy because from our view comments in working with these like very business focused engineering teams the biggest challenge in getting them. All production isn't the actual deployment or devops problem behind. It's really a building model. That's good enough to justify deployment right so when we think about machine learning it's actually buried their friends. Offer engineering both from a process perspective. The dodgy the tools everything about different machine learning iterative process tres many pitfalls in the way and now whether it's your optimizing for the wrong metric or you're leaking your target or you're just working on a data set. That doesn't have enough signal so eventually it's really comes down to building a model that meets the business. Kpi in most of the teams out there are really struggling with that point Like i mentioned. There's a lot of things that can contribute to that but a big part of it is the lack of processes and tools of doing these things in a safe and a predictable way. you know. it's it's great that you gave that explanation. I know that a lot of companies are now starting to bring their starting to build models and think about how they can incorporate machine learning into their their company. So why is it. Important to have a tool for data scientists and teams to track explain in optimize experiments in models. That's an excellent question. And i think a lot of companies learned that the hard way but really impossible to run a team successfully without a system of record of your work. I mean that's true for most job functions. Not just machine learning. You know whether it's gets hub for after themes or salesforce for cell students hub spot for marketing and so on you really need a central system of records manage these processes and and again like other system records. Another jobs luncheon. Once you have that like. In our case on experiment and a model management platform it provides value to anyone was in walden engineer. Works so whether it's data scientists that's looking to track their experiments compare and understand. Why one models being better than the other is bias or issues with a model through the software engineer that's needs actual binary defer deployment all the way to the manager that wants to track and have visibility of a team progression and eventually maintaining all that institutional knowledge about research experimentation metrics and models within the organization and non people's personal notes for example.

Derek Chauvin’s attorney asks for continuance and change of venue in George Floyd case

"Let's turn to another continuing story. The trial of derek chauvin. What is with this new round of requests from vince team. Yeah so to back up derek. Chauvin defense attorney is now asking a judge to redo the part of the jury selection process that they've already completed and he's also asking again that the whole trial be moved out of hennepin county. The legal team is claiming that the twenty seven million dollars awarded to george floyd family by the city of minneapolis. Last week could taint prospective jurors for a couple reasons first the settlement which is the biggest in the history of minnesota is tantamount to the city in a guilty verdict in the criminal trial second. They're claiming that the settlement being a news item means that it would no longer be possible for chauvin to get a fair trial in the county. Where floyd was actually killed. Yeah i think that this has been a news item for as long as it has happened yet. Murder off and makes the news especially if it occurs on camera yes i think yes So reading between the lines it does seem like show vince. Lawyers want to put this offer as long as possible and move it as far from minneapolis as possible. I have a personal theory about why they wanna do that. But i would love to hear your thoughts. Yeah i mean gideon if you were innocent and positive that a jury would acquit you based on the evidence available. Would you want your lawyer to delay your trial. I i would not. I guess show. Vince team is hoping that people will be less mad or remember less clearly. What happened if more time passes between chauvin killing a man and going on trial for killing a man and as far as moving the venue from hennepin county which contains minneapolis in his thirteen percent. Black to another part of minnesota which outside of hennepin county is less than seven percent black. I can't quite put my finger on why they'd wanna do that I see what you did there and that that has historical precedents to of You moving venues to try to get the verdict that you want to. What are the chances that show vince. Lawyers will get their way here. So based on what. The judge has already said pretty low but not zero. It looks like the request to physically move. The trial is the one least likely to be fulfilled the judge who has already denied the lawyers request to move the trial has resisted this latest attempt although the judge acknowledged that the timing of the settlement was quote. Unfortunate judge peter kahlil who is overseeing. The trial has said that he wishes that city officials would quote. Stop talking about the case so much. But he didn't think they were talking about the case publicly with the intention of tainting the jury and speaking of the jury seven jurors have already been selected and they will be called back in to answer some questions about the floyd family settlement. One juror was dismissed yesterday. When she said she quote almost gasped at the size of the settlement other remaining jurors one is black one is mixed race and one is hispanic. The rest are white. The court is looking to see twelve. Total with two

"Of metal flame brings my adult mine back the violence of the moment. Suddenly a growing fears fed fresh fuel screams of a family explode out for only men last silenced with uncaring monster sufficiency. The flowing around now carries a heavy scent of i. That's it every single night. That's how the dream goes every night since that day it's been tortuous trying to live with myself every single minute past that point. Find myself in that horrible bloody dream and every possible moment sleep. I know that's what i did was wrong. And human even but what else could i have done. Just a man. Nothing more than human. I know there's much more out there than that. Now not to ryan says it my dreams my way of dealing with what happened. The only way i could my dark fantasy dreams. He calls them. He says that. If i write down what i feel what i see then maybe can help me understand why i dream that way. Do tool to deal with guilt. He says he's never were. I felt worse after every session with a journal. Now they say. I should try talking to the tape recorder. Is we better than anything else. Wants me to talk out my guilt to somehow accept it internally as he says he has a degree so he must know something about what he's talking about except of course he didn't see them that day he can't otherwise he would have. Just let me have the gun for instead. I got the restraints in the mets. So here i am sitting in their soft dot room trying to piece together my dreams and memories of that night into something that can help the good doctor understand me something that can maybe help me. Can anything helped me now. Now you here wanting to know about that horrible day. Doc said it was okay to talk to you. I don't understand why you want to know about this. But from the look in your eyes he seen some dog days of your own. You might have heard or seen something sound. Alright we can give this a shot. I hope you get something out of it. I've told this thing. The many times in the past few months still feels fresh each time. I close my eyes and live the whole damn day through like a movie. It was supposed to just be a regular day. Tuesday morning sky was cold. Ugly grey thing. This was about the middle of april. So good rolling. Set of strong rains was normal. He's already a bad day for it. I was going down to install a security system for a family and gideon louisiana. I hated working on the drive out of bussey should have been about four hours rained nearly the whole way. They're almost as if it was taunting me. I got a flat about two hours into the trip was able to get changed my spare but took me some time. I ended up running a few hours behind eventually. I made my way to the client's house was more than thankful to be at the destination. The rain with diana at least it was only down to a small light trickle looking for the housewives thankfully difficult client run a small quiet femme quite apart from anything else nearby can make out what appeared to be. The main house cleared a section of rather winding road to bonds each side of the house with signs clearly leading the way when i pulled into the driveway of the house street to buy thin man dressed every bit the pharma pops as he made his way to my car could see him clearly. He was an older gentleman easily in his fifties. I noticed right away that he carried a revolver well handgun of some type on him. He had it hosted but his hand state close to it as well. He seemed on agean. But i had a feeling it was not me as i watched him. He kept looking to one of the bonds about a mile behind me. The Horror at the Gideon Farm

I dealt with some over the top plans before wasn't the first time someone greet to me armed with an attitude and yet this man didn't put off any body language that came off. "Gideon I thought I'm not sure I can do this. I need I need need. God. Make sure this is you. Here's the fleas. If the fleas is wet, okay, he run a bowl of water out of the fleet, and the ground was dry. He said okay. That's a miracle, but I'm just I'm still uncertain, could you? Could you make the fleas and the ground wet? Sure enough the next morning. fleeces drives can be in the grounds wet it. Okay, God. You're in on this, I want you to know something. Gideon did not ask for a third sign. When he got knocked down to listen. Thirty. Two thousand against against one, hundred, thirty, five, thousand is four to one. Do you know what three hundred against thirty one, hundred, thirty, five thousand? It's. Four hundred fifty to one. One soldier has to take on four hundred fifty million nights now. If one beat up four, I would say wow, that's he's. He's strong impressive. If one stood against four hundred fifty. I'd say he has no chance I. don't care how strong he is. Four hundred and fifty, and yet we know the end of the story he did it because God is not going to share his glory with another. Let me tell you something about God. God does not seek to build our self confidence God. A seeks to build our dependence upon him. Did you hear me. He's not out to build up your self confidence all these preachers that are talking to us about having self confidence and believe in yourself, and you can do it. That's not scriptural. What is scriptural? Is You need.

"Faith. What helped me have more of it I've got some faith, but I want more of it I've got a measure of faith, but give me more faith help my belief I wanNa have a prayer life that choirs out to God. Help on belief. We all believe or we wouldn't be here right now, but we also struggle with UNBELIEV. We'd be doing more than we do right now. In you same in. But God thank God. Understands our lack of faith. You realize that he's not angry at you. He's not disappointed with you. He understands your lack of faith. He understands your inability sometimes to do the things he wants you to do. He understands your failures. He understands that you struggle. He understands that you've failed. He understands all of these things and he's not angry. He's not angry. Gideon does. Lord. I've got thirty two thousand men here. There's one hundred thirty five thousand of them over there. I gotta go fight. That story goes right. He. He ain't fighting with one hundred fighting with thirty two thousand. We'll talk about that next week. He's I got twenty, thirty, two, thousand, one, hundred, thirty, five thousand face. If you if it's true, make the police and the ground dry. So God doesn't sure I understand. You're struggling with your faith here. I'll make the fleece horrible water. Getting looks at that and he says well. He says. Okay don't be angry with me. Angry with you. Because, you have failed. Or because of your lack of faith. Or because you haven't been faithful. And you think God must be angry with me? Don't be angry with me. Let me speak one more time. Let Me Test I. Pray just once more with the fleece. Still struggling, you worked a miracle form I'm still struggling here. I'm still looking at the. Massive job ahead of me. And I'm still looking at the meagre means that I had to do the job whether you ain't seen nothing yet. You Ain't going with thirty two thousand people just see you know. Lord I pray just one more time with the fleece. Let it now be dry on the fleas, but let the ground be all wet..

"Man. I am going to turn in our bibles. You can just remain standing while I read here today from Judges Chapter Six for seventy eight, when the people of Israel cried out to the Lord on account of the media nights. We've been talking about this for a while, and it's so interesting, isn't it? How it is the troubles in this world that get us to get on our knees and pray. Amen, and here was on account of the immidiate nights at the Israelites cried out to the Lord. Says, the Lord sent a Prophet to the people of Israel. And he said to them thus says the Lord the God of Israel, I led you up from Egypt, and I brought you out of the House of Bondage. We must not forget what God has done for us. We must never forget what God has done for us. And so from this I'm GonNa. Continue on with part number four of Gideon and you let's pray together Jesus. We love you and we thank you for your blessings. The goodness of God and we pray that you will touch this time of preaching today. Annoy these lips of clay, anoint our hearts and our ears. Of Everyone Lord God. That's listening to this message. Open our understanding, and let us be used by you, I. Pray in Jesus Wonderful Name. God bless, you can be seated. How about we give the Lord One? More hand clap of praise together. Let's magnify his name in this place. Thank you Jesus. Amen all right so in part number one. We talked about how the fact that God uses terrible times to actually raise up the church to do the work it's commissioned to do. and we're seeing terrible times in our world today, and it's time for the Church to get busy. We talked about that in part one, and incidentally all of these parts are online. You can search it on Youtube. Just search out the ministries, UPC and Youtube you'll find all of the sermons that built up to this one. We also talked about the fact that God sees more than we see and I'm so glad that he does. We don't see the full picture, but God does and so. That's why we need to trust him. We need to walk with him. We need to do what he tells us. US To do last week we talked about the fact that God confirms his will, and his priorities with his presence, and aren't you glad to feel the presence of the Lord in this place today I? Feel him in this place today and I'm so glad about that. We talked last week about Giddying Giddy and saying Oh my Lord. If the laws with us, why is all this happened? I may have you ever wondered that. Why is all this happened at the Lord's with us well? We talked about that last week and this week. We are going to talk about the fact that it takes private faithfulness. At faithfulness as a prerequisite to public. Use. A men. Usefulness to the general public is born out of our private sacrifices, our walk with God and our relationship with God how you live in private will indeed affect how you approach humanity. And how humanity is affected by you I remember when I was. Young in my Ministry I. Had a minister tells me he said what you do. All Week is going to follow you into the pulpit on Sunday. Well, that's not true just for the pastor. That's true for every one of us what we do. All Week is going to follow us when it's time to perform and time to be used by God in society, and so it's important that we understand that we must have our private lives together. And then we must get our private lives together. We Must Live for God when nobody's looking. We must serve God when nobody sees it. And someone same in. So I wanna read from Judges Chapter Six verse twenty, five because this is what happened here, and I'm turning around, because I don't have my monitor yet. We're still working at putting all of our platform together so I don't have my monitor showing me what's on the screen behind me? So when you see me constantly glanced back. I'm just trying to see if everything's working okay. Amen. Judges Chapter six verse. Twenty five twenty six. The Bible says that same night after Gideon. Complain instead at the Lord's with us. Wise all this happening and God explain to them that. As I said last week. Good things happen to bad people and bad things happen to good people. So, after the Lord explained all this tomb, the Bible says that the same night the Lord said to him Gideon. He said I. Want you to take the second bowl from your father's heard the one. That's seven years old I. Want you to tear down. Your father's altered to bail and I want you to cut down the Ayrshire poll. That's beside it and I want you to build a proper kind of altered. You know that we all have altars in our lives that we a sacrifice to. One way or another we are making sacrifices to alters that are in our lives. Some people bowed down to the altar of alcoholism. Some people bow down to sex. Some people bow down to drugs. Some people bowed down to lying some people. All kinds of things people are down at the altars to. The Bible, said to build a proper kind alter. We need the proper kind of alter and that alters built to the Lord your God on top of this height. Using the would of the Ayrshire Opole that you cut down. Offer the second bull as your burnt offering. What does that telling us? That's telling us that we ought to take everything that this world has given us or that we the energy we use to serve this world or the things we learned from this world. Begin to use it to serve God. If. You've gone to school and you got a college education. You need to use your brain to help the kingdom. If you've got talent and ability in your hands, and you play instruments, you need to use your talents to bless the Kingdom. If you've got a brain and you can talk, and you can help people you need to help people in the kingdom. We need to take our talents and put them to use in God's kingdom. Is What we need to do. Praise God. But I WANNA point out. That Gideon did this. In the privacy of night when no one was looking. He did what he did for God. On nobody was watching. and. We must serve God when nobody's watching. We must serve God. When nobody's looking, you cannot be used by God in public. Until you have surrender to God in private. You can't be used by God in the public. Until you have surrendered to God. In private. A man. We must serve the Lord So. Gideon Bible says I'm not going to put the scriptures. Going to read it and talk about a little bit. Bible says Gideon when God told him to tear down the Ashra Paul and to build the right kind of alter the Bible said that Gideon. got. Ten men together. You went out and found ten men to help them tear this alter down. What does that speak to me? What does that speak to you? It means I'm not here to serve God by myself. We need to go find someone else to come and serve the Lord with us, did not David CEO, come and magnify the Lord with me I'm going to church. I'm going to magnify the Lord. How about you come with me? How about we start inviting people to come with us? How about we start inviting people to pray with us? How about we started inviting? People have a Bible study with us. How we stopped doing all of this stuff just privately and others in on it. Let somebody else? into ten men from among his servants. And did as the Lord said to him. But Gideon feared his father's household. And the men of the city too much to do it by day, so he did it by night..
