Judge HR, Cole Ks lead Yanks over Giants 5-0 on opening day

"Aaron judge appropriately hit Major League Baseball's first home run of the season, launching the Yankees to a 5 zero opening day victory over the Giants. Judge who said an American League record last year with 62 homers, homered with one out in the bottom of the first to give New York elite it never relinquished any chance to get one run on the board there early for Cole, I think was huge and it kind of let him settle in and work with a little bit of a lead. Garrett called me that Homer stands up with 6 scoreless innings, striking out 11. Glaber Torres added a two run Homer in the fourth of San Francisco starred in loser Logan Webb, who fanned 12 in his 6 innings. Judge also drove in another run with a single. New York

And if you want to support her, you got to add up human female U.S.. She's back on Twitter and she goes under her nom de guerre. The posey Parker. That's the posy pocket. All right, I was listening to your superb interview with my buddy. Brennan O'Neal of spiked online. And he was describing, you were both describing this cartoon that ran while you were on your speaking tour. And I found it, I wanted to show up a 3 million viewers across the country. So here is an incredibly rude. You are a very, very attractive woman. They've made a caricature of you with a bullhorn. And then this weird kind of hairy male hand with a long fingernail, and the bubble coming out of this man woman thing is your turf propaganda is not welcome here. And you made some comments about this cartoon. Isn't this just, isn't this the complete essence of why you're fighting? Yeah. I mean, well, what an own goal to sort of try and try and make it look like this was like I was the bad guy in that image. I genuinely thought when I saw it that it was somebody who'd done a cartoon on our side. Yeah, the support you, right? 'cause there's this man telling this massive giant telling you to shut up, Kelly Jay. Yeah. I mean, the great thing is that that man's hand is actually supposed to be one of a celebrated so called trans woman. So even that, that's why the fingernail is long. Even that is perfect.

Starbucks' Howard Schultz defends union stance before Senate

"Longtime Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz has defended the coffee giants union stance before a Senate panel, the testimony was often testy with Senate health, education, labor, and pensions committee chair Bernie Sanders, saying federal courts and the national labor relations board have found Starbucks guilty of labor law violations. The most aggressive and illegal union bustling campaign in the modern history of our country. Schultz fought back. Starbucks has not broken the law. Saying, while the companies willing to bargain with unionized workers, they don't need unions because Starbucks gives them good pay and benefits. We do nothing that is nefarious. We put our people first. Ex barista, Jason saxton, told a different story, saying Starbucks fired workers and cut hours after his Augusta Georgia shop voted to unionize last year. He led a two day strike in protest. I was fired after organizing like so many union leaders across the country. Saxton says big companies like Starbucks do whatever they can to deny workers a voice.

Chad nationalizes assets by oil giant Exxon, says government

"Chad's government says its nationalizing all assets for multinational oil giant ExxonMobil, including hydrocarbon and exploration permits. The nationalization of a private company means that all assets are now owned by the government, energy experts say, while this used to happen in the 1960s and 70s, it hasn't happened in a long time, and doesn't conform to the legalities of the sector. Chad began producing oil in 2003 and Exxon has been operating in the country for several decades. It was running the dobo oil project in Chad, of which it owned a 40% stake analysts say the move could scare away investors from West Africa at a time of growing global energy demand and a decline in foreign investments in the African region. Sebastian and Chris Kohls Review the Cast Of "Conan the Barbarian"

"Let's start talking about the cast. We have William Smith playing the blacksmith who is the father to Conan, and here we have well, it's about steel and it's a riddle. I forgot the secret of steel and nothing on the battlefield. We found it. I just meant that God's a giant. The secret of steel has always carried with a mystery. He was foolish for Conan. You must learn its discipline. For no one. No one in this world can you trust? Not men that women have beasts. This you can trust. What an incredible, incredible performance. So hypnotics, the manly man. Do you recognize the actor William Smith and where we saw him most recently, Chris? No, I don't. But the funny thing you mentioned how good this performance is, it's actually a relatively small part of film. Yeah. It's just this little sliver of this film. And it's so epic and it's so well done. Excuse me. Yeah. What do you want to see on? Live radio. That's what you want to see. Okay, just brilliantly done. I mean, this is what you can do with such a small part, right? I mean, this is truly a great act of this man. What has he done recently? Well, this is the interpreter. This is the interrogator, the intelligence officer. In real life, in the Korean War, who was colonel in red dawn. Do you remember the colonel who? Of course. Of course I have another movie. Another buddy of milius. 'cause this was first. Right. He gave him a big wig, massive beard, but just, you know, and that scene on the top of the mountain with the clouds going by. It could have been so cheesy, so fake, but it just works. The connection between the sun and the father. All right, talk to us about the rest of the cars. You mentioned some great performances. I'll give you my input, but tell us about the supporting actors. Yeah, you know, I was really struck by the king. This is played by a man named max von Sydow. And I had actually now really heard of this guy before. I've obviously seen him in many films, and I just haven't heard that name. What an underrated actor. I mean, I don't know all the stuff that he's been and I couldn't list you all of his films, but I know I've seen him in many, many projects. And what a fantastic performance. When he's talking about how he's got all this money, he's built up this massive kingdom, but all he cares now is about his daughter that's all he cares about. It's actually a touching performance weirdly

Biden's Crimes Are Far Worse Than Trump's

"Biden doesn't want you to think about ESG. He doesn't want you to think about upcoming local elections. I am as outraged as you are about a Trump arrest, and we're going to talk more about that on this show today. And we also talked about that yesterday, but we need to realize that Biden's failures are not just failures. They are deliberate acts of sabotage. This applies to a Trump arrest as well. If Trump is arrested by corrupt leftists in New York, that's not an accident. That's not a blunder. That's an act of sabotage. The same is true of most everything else on Biden's record. Look at the disastrous and bloody Afghanistan pullout. That was a debacle so utterly botched that it will likely negatively impact our diplomatic and war fighting abilities. For generations. Yet no one was held accountable there. And because the incompetence people were not removed, the same Pentagon was caught flat footed, trying to respond to a Chinese spy balloon. Secretary of transportation, Pete Buttigieg, was caught twiddling his thumbs over multiple supply chain crisis affecting food supplies for babies and adults alike, as well as they suspected hack of our air traffic control systems. Not one to rest on his laurels. He can now claim a giant mushroom cloud of toxic and carcinogenic gas as a recent accomplishment. What could better represent his tenure than a literal toxic flaming trainwreck? The talentless political hacks and diversity hires in the DoJ, Homeland Security, intelligence agencies, Department of Education, and State Department have been caught repeatedly engaging in state directed censorship. Political and religious targeting and developing legal theories to establish thought crime. And each time they get caught, the media ignores the disaster, and these same anti American plants go right back to work undermining the essential pillars of American government.

How Was a Young Spencer Klavan Inspired to Study Classics at Yale?

"Want a little bit of your story. How is it that you ended up going to Yale and being, it sounds like a classics major there. How did what was your upbringing like that led you to that? Because that's a pretty radical thing for a teenager to do to say, I want to go to that place and study classics. Yeah, and it's weird because I do remember having that really definite sense that that's what I wanted to do. But you're absolutely right. I mean, I always think about this moment in Homer's Iliad where Ajax, the great giant, is striding from ship to ship because he's so big, he can walk across the prows. And my education almost felt like I was doing that, but the ships were sinking behind me. There was always this sense that I was kind of getting the last of a great academic tradition that was kind of starting to crumble or to suffer from capture. And what saved me would rescue me was what I alluded to before. And that was just a childhood surrounded by great works. I had to realize that wasn't normal. I was gradually as I grew up, I came to understand that I was lucky to know these minds that live between the covers of these books. A lot of people think of this as kind of like these are dusty tomes, they're primitive they're superstitious. They're backwards or what have you. I knew from a very early age that none of that was true. I knew that these were friends. And that meant that, of course, some of these books are difficult, some of the stuff I'm writing about in my book is not obvious or easy. But it's not there just to provide to furnish material for PhD theses. It's not there just to interest eggheads like me. These are these are the best these texts contain the best that has been thought and said about how to be excellent at being human.

That means I go to mass on Saturday night and I go to my Presbyterian Church on Sunday, one river two banks, but I speak evangelical very well. Rick Warren and Greg Laurie are friends, Al Muller is a weekly conversationalist with me. I know, you know, John piper I read desiring God years ago. I know most of the stuff you talk about. I've got to tell you at the beginning. I have never heard of CJ Mahoney or Lou engel until I read your book. Never heard and I've been covering religion since 1992. So first question, do you think your perspective in testimony might be jaded by that particular covenant life church experience and these particular pastures? Well, I guess, can I ask you what you mean by jaded, just that my experience might not reflect a more mainstream experience? Is that what you're kind of? Yeah, I think mainstream evangelicalism is not anti intellectual at all. But then again, I've had doctor Mark Roberts as a pastor for 25 years. He got his undergrad and PhD from Harvard. Doctor Larry is my current pastor in oldtown is a phenomenal scholar and preacher and archbishop who is listening right now in the author of three books is an intellectual giant in the Catholic world and I've written three books on evangelicalism and this, I just think testimony is a 100% accurate about 1% of the church. How's that sound? Yeah, I think my dad raised a similar objection. When I talked to him about the book, he does not feel like a lot of evangelical culture is anti intellectual. And I think it's a totally fair question to raise. I do think that even if you haven't heard of CJ Mahaney or Lou angle, you know, I did some reporting recently. Let me deal with CJ first. CJ is not a figure on the same level as somebody like Al molar. But until about, you know, 7, 9, ten years ago, he was of a similar stature to Al mohler, if not as nationally known. So never quite got to that level, but was kind of on his way there was working with Mueller quite closely in a group of other ministers who were organizing a conference every year called. "I'd like to talk about the capturing of the who, the who. Who's on first? Well, I'm not talking about the band. I'm talking about the World Health Organization. And I'm going to talk about a little known aspect of the World Health Organization, the way in which it has been overtaken, manipulated and captured. By a private money and specifically by the private money deployed by the Gates Foundation by Bill and Melinda Gates. Now, the World Health Organization was created after World War II. And initially, the idea was that member countries would make contributions and the World Health Organization would be kind of a coordinating group that would work through these countries to improve health to improve health practices around the world. Very noble mission seemed to work pretty well. The World Health Organization made some notable advances, including the wide dissemination of smallpox, vaccines, leading to the virtual eradication of smallpox. But then what happened in the 1980s is that the World Health Organization began to show signs of being politicized. And the Reagan administration said, hey, if you keep doing this, we're not going to give you money. And the World Health Organization panicked. And began to expand its funding to take a lot of money from nonprofit groups that could final money into the World Health Organization, but also pharmaceutical giants like GlaxoSmithKline and Novartis. So suddenly these pharmaceutical big pharma began to put conditions on the money will give you money to do this. We'll give you money to do that. And that's troubling enough because you can see how companies like Pfizer can use their leverage now with the World Health Organization financial leverage. Who Blew Up the Nord Stream Pipeline?

"How would you describe the blowing up of the Nord stream pipeline? Let's think about this. You've got this giant pipeline. There's no stream one, by the way, and one stream too. And they stretch 760 miles from the northwest coast of Russia all the way to a place called lubman in northeastern Germany. And somebody put explosives, and this was around the area where the pipeline goes close to Norway. And boom, blew up the pipeline, the pipeline has been crippled. It's been damaged. And I think there's only one word or two words to describe what happened international terrorism. Somebody did that. And it's either, well, I suppose you could also call it an act of war. But it's one or the other. Now, when this first happened, there was almost a kind of unanimous chorus in the western media, the Russians did it. And on the face of it, this is absurd. The Russians benefit from the Nord stream pipeline, they pushed hard for the building of the pipeline they negotiated and got the deal with Germany. They make a lot of money off the pipeline. It creates also politically German dependence on Russia. So the Russians have no reason to blow up the Nord stream pipeline. Well, the western press was like, yeah, well, they do that. They're doing it because they want to make it look like we did it. So they're doing it to score points. And even though it's kind of like someone beating themselves up in the face and then saying, oh, you know, my boyfriend abused me. So they were implying that this is Putin's motive for doing this. Well, it was never really all that believable, but these days much of what we hear on the western price is not believable. In fact, it's propaganda that is sown by the intelligence agencies.

"I would also want to see a comparison. So go do this for every other movie trailer real quick guy. And then the single one ever. It's more likely in a lot of movies where the main character is more likely to be on the screen even when they're not talking and where there's nothing else like audio because they're just they are going to be framed. Like we need to see them to have context for everything else that's happening. So I wonder if that's just what's happening here. Yeah, 'cause I'd imagine like Mad Max: Fury Road, the character max doesn't talk a lot on that, right? Sure. Right, yes. That might be a special case, but even still in like a normal movie. I think how much is Luke Skywalker talking even though he's on screen all the time. Or Sean wick, right? Keanu doesn't have any notable lines from John Wick, I think. He said, I'll be back. That's where that's from. Oh, right, right, right. Right. All right, I just learned that. Yeah. God I love K mech. But thank you Adam for that exhaustive trailer breakdown. Putting in the work. Don't listen to Jeff grubb. Please don't do this with every single trailer. Please don't. Please, please don't. Please don't please do not. However, when the second event trailer eventually rolls around, I would like if you could do the same math for us. Yeah, that'd be great. Thanks to everyone that wrote an email today. You can send your emails to bomb cast a giant bomb dot com, rest assured I can actually read them now. If you are one of the people sending spam or signed up the bomb cast email address to spam, why? Anyway, please don't. I want to give a special shout out and thanks to our most valuable friend Mike minotti for I was telling Mike this when everyone else was gone, I think Mike is like the best friend of the site right now. I think so. I think so. I feel safe saying that. It's him and Bond. You say, people say Friends of the show all the time, but do they mean it in the way they mean? The mvf. Most valuable. Like, puberty tonys. But I could say. All right. How come you didn't pack Mike in your carry on? What's the deal, bro? I thought it was a package deal. I forgot, I forgot he was in there. So I just feel like we shipped on the entire time. We shipped a lot of stuff back to you. It would not have been a problem. Right. Yeah, where's Mike? Oh shit. Did you not poke air holes in that? He was just sitting in the hotel room this whole time just waiting for Jeff grubb to come back. We never came back. All right. Speaking about the great Muppet caper, the Muppets are inside the pet carriers and then Martin shorter somebody just throws them out the airplane. That's gonna be me. That's a top 20 movie of all time. I'm gonna say I feel comfortable saying that. Of course it is. You guys should have done some Muppets take Manhattan bullshit, although close enough. We didn't marry melodies was our live stream. I think any excuse to have Lucy do her Kermit the frog invitation that she has to start with group it the frog here. Gotta say the thing. Mike, where can people find you on the Internet? Go to games beat, games beat dot com. That's where me and our rags staff over there. They are working hard. They are working, covering some kind of meta event. Well, I was goofing around here, so thank you to them, but otherwise I'm doing stuff with Jeff grubb over on our game message channel. That's last of the Nintendo dogs and game S the sides and I've been on Twitch and Twitter as a toll Kyoto. Did you plug 90 Disney? Did I just blink? Oh, thank you, 90s Disney, my 90s Disney good job, Jeff. 1990 Disney podcast I do with my brothers, which is about all sorts of Disney stuff from the 90s, theme parks. Good show. Our last episode was on interventions, which had a really big Sega showcase area in the mid 90s at the height of cooling. Stuff like that. We talked about that quite a bit in our last episode. Game this morning's resumes tomorrow, right, Jeff? That's right, we got Andy Robinson on tomorrow from VGC. So now we're going to start taking a story. We're actually going to have to come on here and talk and there we go. It should be fun. I can't wait to put a name or a face to the name. I've had it like a lot of conversations with them and never actually spoken to them even like face to face over video. So this would be fun. The summer game. I remember him saying he's going to be there. Michael will be there to hang out with him. He was where I met Jan actually, so hey, how about that? Yeah, I remember that I will remember that day forever. We also have eternal darkness coming back up. Dan playing through sonic O 6, sekiro choa resumes voicemail dump truck will happen on Thursday as always, so will UPF. But also tomorrow, live, make good here. We will be doing a film in 40s live of roadhouse. God help us. The tech fell apart at the end of that stream that we could not do it. Also eventually the great giant bomb a thon will be archived, again, if you missed it, the vaud is still available up on Twitch. It is eventually going to process its way through YouTube. I'm hoping sooner rather than later. It's still sitting at a crispy 360 P and I threw that in yesterday morning. So, you know, it's got cook. Gotta cook a little longer. We'll see. We'll see, yeah. But until then, and until next week, this has been the giant bomb cast. I've been here to choa. He's been Jeff grubb. He's been Jeff baccala, he's been Mike menotti, and you at home have been incredibly attractive. We'll see ya next week.

"Love yourself. Somebody tried to send you like a serious email in comic sans. You sort of like, if someone was sending you like a I would feel intimidating. And you were just like, what the fuck is this? No, I would be like, this person has so much confidence. They are like on a level or two beyond me. I would trust that person to do contracting or stuff like that because that's somebody that is focused on their craft and not on the extraneous bullshit like fonts. To me that says this person is like that grandma meme where they're like hunting and pecking and they're just like, oh where's the shift button that kind of thing like I don't think grandma wouldn't know how to turn on comic sans I think at this point, but I don't think anyone should make them. There must be. I used to be anti comic sans until I read a fact that I'm not going to figure out if it was true or not. But it helps with hoax that I've dyslexia. Yep. That's you know what? Honestly, I think that's a lot of lobbying on the behalf of the comic sans people. The people. Also, I want to say there's a couple that control the government and our big fans. There are a few serif parts of comic sans, like the capital C has a little lip. Marker tip sort of file. It's not really a Sarah. Yeah, it's not a true serif, yes. Adobe dot com slash font slash comic serif. Be careful. You might get a web P on accident and you don't want one of those. God damn it. Way more real bad. If you were a legislator, I would make web P's illegal. I don't know what they are, but they inconvenience me. Drops fine into like when I put it into Photoshop or any other editing stuff, but it feels dirty. It's like when I accidentally download through nefarious methods a YouTube video and it comes out a web M. I'm like, what is this? It feels like opposite of a matroska file or an MKV. It's like the MKV is on one side of the spectrum and then on the other side is this web P bullshit that's controlled. Giant corporation. Web P from what I've heard is like useful. It's like a very efficiently compressed image file. That I can't drag into premiere to save my life. Actually. I'm more lately anti premiere, because it'd be crashing every single thing. Supports transparency as well. There's a lot in here. For that. And we support nothing but transparency here on the giant bomb. Give me my farm to table pictures, man. That's all I need. That's right. Totally. Oh, you guys, how's everyone doing? Grab a lot. O'Brien? Then this is gone. The nest is gone. Can I guess how he handle it? They just went out there with garbage bag at night, wrapped it up, pulled it down and prayed and just ran to a trash can or something. Do you want to hear what I think I told this story on? I can't remember. No, I think you told me here last week, so we need to know what you told the origin story of it. I might have told the conclusion anyway. "He'd be in the middle of an engagement going bad and your role was to kind of help him in that engagement. But by the end of it, you realize that in fighting those engagements with him, you robbed him of his purpose. And you have that moment at the end where you realize shit. His whole thing was I want to prove myself as a warrior. And I'm from this warrior nation, and he's here to do his best. And I just got in the way. Like I just, I thought I was doing the good player thing by helping my bro out actually what I've done is removed this man's purpose and now he's going to go hollow. That would not have been possible like that profound moment and that realization would not be possible if the game was like, this man told you to do this. You need to go here now, and then you can go do this because then you'll be like, well, I didn't do that. The fucking game told me to do that. That sucks. So like having agency in having like hands off unaware agency in the lives of others, it's so important to this game. And I think that you could probably do something in the way of information tracking. But again, I feel like that feeds into the idea of you making those connections yourself. Like the idea of you going, oh, someone mentioned the dragon burnt ruins. I'm in this area now. I should see if I can go back and speak to that person and go back there and you could be like, I found the dragon burn rooms, dude. And it'll be, oh shit, where are you? Where is it? And then that's way better than going, you've just found the dragon mountains. Why don't you go back and chat to looking for dragon man? And I feel like that kind of that opaqueness is so important to the sense of discoverability and the sense of adventure and curiosity that introducing a gamified quest log system would undermine it to a degree that I think is significant. But at the same time, if they came out and they were like, we've added this thing as an option to tell you, I'm not going to be like, I'm so mad that other people have a way to play this game that isn't exactly how I play it. Those people can go straight to hell. Yeah, I think we're just looking at it in terms of just like there are going to be people that aren't going to marathon through it, right? They're going to be like, oh, I played some of it, and then maybe next weekend, I'll get back to it, and then by the time they get back to it, they're like, I don't remember there was a guy looking for something somewhere. And which way was I even going? I think there's that I think there's so many different people might play this game so many different ways. I start to think about like, oh, I wonder if there would be just be a better way to get that information to those people without fucking up that balance, but it'd be really, really hard. Because I know people say, oh, you got to keep a journal, you got to write notes. Yes, totally. That's how I played fez, and that was super fun. There's aspects of elden ring that have made me think a lot about fez lately. And it's mostly been as people talk more and more about keeping journals and all this other stuff. And not that they're literally similar, but it's been that feeling of just like, I don't know that I'm probably not going to keep an elden ring journal. And I bet the vast majority of people that come to this game are not either, and so the closest I have for them. The closest I have to keeping a journal is just littering my overworld map with a bunch of different markers and just creating my own where you can. The little markers that give you kind of like vague enough, it looks like a skull or like a dude. So sometimes I will just kind of spell stuff out on my map, like an axe or check. This place was bad. Or the sites of grace, they give little trails on the map also kind of like a vague guide of where to go. But I have just started to just make straight up arrows with those little beacons because I'll come across a dude that I don't think I can beat just yet and then level up a little bit, find something some new equipment and realize I still can't beat that guy. But now I know the general location where that dude is. I don't know. It's just so much happening in this game and I kind of love being overwhelmed by it. Because it's like with Tam said like I was beating my head against the wall with like the first two major bosses and I just couldn't do it. So I eventually just start exploring Lim grave the first area you're in open to chest and now I'm somewhere that's where everything is red and bad. And it was great and I explored that area and then I found some sick poison stuff that I threw on my weapon and they're like oh sick now I can beat everyone no problem only to get smashed again and have my ego checked, it's great. I found like a giant hammer that I'm not equipped to use but then the game is like but if you use two hands, you can do it buddy. All right, well I don't normally want to use a hammer, but we're gonna use shit out of this hammer because it looks sick once there was a sword in the hammer. What up this hammer? That is sore. For what it's worth. That might be in this game. I don't know. If there's a car camera in this game, I'm in. There are a few hammers, but I haven't found anything close to a Kirk hammer yet. Oh, God damn it. It's sadly. No whip either. Just mod one in. It's only a matter of time before someone mods that in. The ability to pause, have they? I mean, that's one thing that I'm like, okay, that's fine. But again, you can make a case for why that breaks the tension, right? Because yeah, totally. It's an online game, and if people are going to invade and do whatever, whatever, you need to be on that server and that's just for me, like the moment, the moments in a fight.

"Going up heaven's chimney tonight. Jesus. Yeah, as your triangle strategy. Yeah, that's my triangle stretch. That HD two D look squares out there saying they want to do more of that and live alive, of course, is kind of like the next one of those and they're like, yeah, we think we want to do more in this style when we remake SNES games. What do you think you tired of it? You're done with it. I think I'm already tired of it. I liked it when they showed off octopath because like oh cool, diorama. And then they showed this off and then they showed live alive and then one of the pixel remasters and I'm like, okay, okay, this is just like when one director comes up with some type of motif and then everyone wants to just do that. Giant letters as the title card placing our location. Now every movie moving forward is going to use that. They were doing the Final Fantasy opera scene with real singing in different languages too. What? That's cool. That's cool. As far as like the two and a half D Sprite look, I don't know. I'm ready to move on already. Let's go back to brave fencer musashi looking PS1. Spring back. Not Sprite's models. Yeah. Why not? Why not? It's cute. All right, well that's just about it for games. We've got a couple of minor corrections here. Last week I said that lost arc was from a Chinese studios from a South Korean studio small gaze the South Korean dev and also when we talk about the Super Bowl halftime show and I mentioned that my wife was drinking age one 50 cent was popular, she wanted to say, no, she was actually in high school. Oh, when that happened to which my response to her was, yeah, drinking age, high school. That is an answer. I would have this. I thought we were good attention. Apologize to the 50 cent estate. Okay. Yeah. No, definitely. Some sort of upside down business. Absolutely not. No apologies to 50 cent. You know what you did? Why don't we take a break?.

"And it's not actually Scrabble, but anyway. New armored core. What do you think? All right. Okay. Sure. It's been a long time. It has been a very long time. I was like, frozen in their souls born proof, and it's been extremely successful. But I would like to see them come back to this. Yeah. And they had said that this was something that they were looking to get back to, but there's some additional details that supposedly leaked out of a consumer survey according to video games chronicle dot com that a lot of details got posted to a message board, which then was followed up with very tiny images of a third person mech game that sure looks a hell of a lot like a armored core and some additional details on the world and stuff like that using the word melange, which I don't understand. What are we doing here? What are we doing here? Feel the tension in long and short range battles. The game offers not only long range combat with guns, but also short range common elements such as blade and shield. That add a sense of urgency to gameplay. Yeah. It's just so taking something of a long view of from software and all this other stuff. It is still weird to their fortunes have changed so much. Armored core was not a thing that you would have gotten a lot of like, yeah. Response is about. It has its audience for sure of people who fucking love them some armored core, but they were oftentimes the lunatics that were off in the corner was like, no, you need to check this out. And then you would play it and go, I just hasn't playwright. I just it's not what I need out of a mech game. And so to see a widespread, whatever. On the other end of all the souls games and all the stuff like from software is thought of incredibly differently than they were prior to all this stuff. Yes. Yeah, right. Yeah, you thought it was just like a bunch of fucking janky weird shit and God bless them for it, but like fucking armored cores for lunatics. It's for nerds. Yeah, that's kind of nerds. Yeah, I remember because they let you get super duper granular with the parts and stuff. I remember complaining to my poor mother. Like, mom, I don't have any weapons. I don't know what I'm doing, 'cause I only quipped everything from my arms. And she was like, I don't know what you're trying to do right now. Have you done homework today? Murder robot. How do you not understand that? You don't get it, bob. My robot building games are bio motor, my bio motor unitron for the neo geo pocket and robo pit for the PlayStation one. There's some good ass games right there. Yeah. I as a result of this, I went back and found myself reading about all of the games in the armored core. Series, and it was very much like a you save on your memory card could be upgraded to the next game and they would occasionally break that upgrade route when they went from like an armored core two to three, but then when they're like, okay, this one's the arena offshoot. And this one's armored core for answer, which is like a great subtitle for anything. For answer, what? All right. There you go. Perfect. Anyway, I feel like they at some point spoke about wanting to get back to armored core. So this isn't necessarily a huge surprise, but the details are definitely new and all that sort of stuff and they should do this. The appetite for the style of game and the appetite for games from software is so fucking different than it was the last time they put out an arbor core game that they will probably find some very real success with this. If they do it right, crazy to think that an armored core might actually crack into the mainstream or something. Gaming is so different now. It's so different. It's so awesome that it is, too. Like it's so crazy that you got people getting crazy hyped about an armored core game when you're like, that was the game that you didn't get at launch because you're like, this is too fucked up for me. It's impossible. Yeah. Stupid car grip, and mutate your hands just to some people loved chrome hounds. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. I wanted to like chrome hounds. At the time, I could not get super into it. But anyway, I hope this is like the return of mech games 'cause, you know, if this is the thing that pushes the needle to get tight and fall three, I need it to happen. Yeah, are they going to get out? Yeah. You know, what if a giant human drops down and then the back takes over the human? I think that's the Attack on Titan add on for Call of Duty that they just announced it. What? Oh, by the way, yeah, there's a call there's an Attack on Titan thing coming to Call of Duty. Like the naked baby people are like the little people. I don't know what I don't know. I think there might just be selling a gun. I don't know if it's gonna have full on fucking Titans, but rattling hooks. Yeah. Ground ones make every game better. More grappling hooks. I don't understand Call of Duty..

"Are we in Vegas? But you remember how they made such a big deal about we've designed this director that is going to really strategically figure out and left for that. We are going to strategically like, it's basically like another player is there kind of like a DM almost setting these creatures out in the set pieces because they know the levels inside and out and they know where to spawn these special infected that'll like strategically take you down. This game's solution to that is, we're just going to send like ten tall boys at you. I hope you can kill them all from the same door. And it's a little less it's just a little more theatrical. If that makes sense, like it's less of like, oh shit, we were taken down by a strategic placement of cool enemies doing dynamic things to us and more of like, oh, well, we tried shooting them all in the head, but there were too many guys to shoot in the head until they broke down the door. And then the special infected Jan, you could probably speak to this. How many special infected do you think are in the game? There's like four or 5, and then they just have modifiers, right? Where the tall boys were like the giant tall boys with one big good hand. You know, it makes me think like, what were these when like a group of four or 5 tall boys rolls up to me and my squad? What were they doing together? Basketball team. Yeah. Yeah, they all got infected. And then nobody wants to call a foul because you don't really call fouls in a pickup game. But they're like biting each other. But are you alluding to like enemy diversity? Because it's not just that because you wind up going around the. I'm at the end of act two and I've only gone through very similar environments if not the same environments as I have been going through. And sure they're trying to justify in the store of like, we need to fortify the church. Get out of the library. But the enemies it's like, okay, it's the same ones. That one has armor now, so I can't shoot in the head or it's the glowy spot. Right, so my biggest problem is they don't really teach you anything about the different variants, like message. So there's like three main types. There's like the exploding guys that are like big, bulky guys. There's a cowboys that have the really big arm like you mentioned, and there's the kind of like little springy guys who jump around. But each of those varieties has three different varieties within them that all behave very differently. Like, just for example, the tall boy is like, the normal tall boy will run up and slam once. The super tall boy will run up and just like keep slamming until you kill him and then the last one will like grab you in its big arm and like thrash you around. And jump around guys, you got like what it never last. You got like a Danny boy, a DJ lethal. I don't want to spoil anything in the campaign, but remember how left for that two ended with a big concert? Yeah. Oh, very excited. Red cap. That turns out red comes zombie. It all just comes down to an issue with like messaging and onboarding. There's like no glance value, I guess you could say for like knowing what type of special effect that it is how you have to deal with it. I had to go on Reddit and find a guide and read the guide and it broke down like there's the visual indicators. Here's what they do, and I just I'm always a fan of if you can put the information players need in your game. Right. Like have a gloss somewhere that I can read while I'm loading in one time and I'll just be like, oh, these are the different types of variations or whatever. And it's just, it's just a bummer. It's a weird game where it's just not it feels like it's just like extremely polished and like some areas. I think it's visually really great game. Like we talked about the fog effects, adding a lot and just like, even the common zombie design, I really like and the gunplay is really polished and then there's some stuff that just feels completely unfinished. Fucking lots of modern video games are like that these days I guess that's kind of the norm now. Yeah, yeah. If someone was just tuning into the bombcast, they could have confused our feelings on a back for blood with Guardians of the Galaxy, where it's like,.

"It's the one where you just go. Yeah. And it does nothing. I thought it made me. It has a mental effect. Yeah. It has a metallic. I thought it made you run faster. I thought it was like the knife in counter strike. You know, but it was all in my head. You don't actually go faster. Speaking about all in my head, I've been playing a game that I still am not sure it's completely real. Dungeon encounters, we check this out on UPF. It's a dungeon crawler. When I first saw a screenshot, I thought you were doing RPG crossword puzzles, which sound cool, but you basically have a board and it's formatted like a bunch of tiles kind of like a maze, not really amazed. And each floor of the dungeon, you are filling out each of these squares. So you're just running across them. And on the map of tiles are sets of random numbers, some of these numbers correspond to, oh, this is a healing fountain. This is a resurrection station. Oh, you can get an ability here. You got to equip it at station number three, I think. And then other little number pips will have info on the different monsters you'll encounter or sometimes you'll need a whole new character and they can join your party. But then you'll come across random battles where you you and your party because it's an RPG. You were taking on rate of monsters. So you have a party of four, which you have a giant pool of maybe like ten or 15 random playable characters in a lot of the combat systems interesting because each enemy and each character that you control they have a physical damage meter magical damage meter, and then they're HP meter. So you have to work your way and whittle down either the physical or magical damage, and then you can get to the juicy cake inside and start slicing and dicing at the HP. And it's just weird. It's weird that square put this out. Like it feels like a gray box. It's not like we're not, you know, this is what we're going to use to get a green light and we're taking this into a meeting. Can we make this the right way? No. Okay. Well, we got this at least, put it out, okay, that's weird. But okay, we'll put it out. It's such a strange look. Yeah. But like, to me, it has that kind of almost I say rogue like, meaning it reminds me of actual original rogue in some weird way. But like that style of game, your mystery dungeons and whatnot of walking around doing this stuff. But it seems like the RPG combat from watching you play it seems like, hey, this is a proper full on Final Fantasy esque system to fight monsters. But the rest of it is just like walk around on these squares and look at numbers. They, well, we could draw art for the revival station. No, just number 7. What a 7. Just write a 7. They'll know. It's wild because it feels like this is a mini game in a Final Fantasy game or something. Like this is how you upgrade your abilities or upgrade your weapon somewhere. This is like a PSP game. It's like having the whole thing was like 7 is a human. It's very much just like, bro, you're saying like, people know that this asterisk is a player and people know that an O is an ogre and you need to run away from the O, if you don't have the right sword and stuff. Like a door fortress. It's neat. It's also it's like 20 bucks. It's available on switch, steam, and I think PlayStation as well. Was it 20 or was it 30? I want to study. I want to say it was 30, which I might the other side of some line in my head of just like three. I'm seeing that I might have gone it for 20 because it was like a launch bonus sale or something. But he's 24 on sale at the moment. Okay, yeah, 24, yeah, right? The Nintendo Switch. And if there was any switch game out there, this is for sure it. They also let you speed up how fast you walk and how fast you battle. So I don't know what that appeals to other than filling up the board faster. But it's neat. I don't know. It's cool to see square put out weird shit. I just can't help but think in the back of my head because my head is poisoned that somehow this is going to become either a Kingdom Hearts off game, or it's going to become like a mini game and Final Fantasy 14. Where you fight a giant raid at the end and the rate is a crossword puzzle. It's like this weird thing where it feels like if they actually did the work to flesh out this art, the game would be. No one will be talking about it. They would just be like, all right, yeah, no, it's just like a really average kind of dungeon crawler. Like you could do better elsewhere. But because it looks so stripped back like it suddenly has an.

"On, giant bomb, cup Amelia. Umaga, or sedan, a chola. Come on, cannabis. It all go about nata 7 O 9. I had to bust it out because this is the last Tuesday of Filipino American history month and as I mentioned at the top, my name is Jana chola, Jason a striker out on assignment today, but joining me the most jolliest crew in all of video game podcasts. It's on a list somewhere. We'll occupy all ten spots, even though it's a top 20. We still occupy the first ten, the bottom ten, all 20 baby, all 20, joining me. Jeff gershman. I want to take back what I said in the pre show about the house band. I think my new house band, it would be shadow the hedgehog doing that pumpkin wrap. Okay, yes. For everything. It would just be that one song would be the theme to everything that we do. Got to get the Emma rolls. It would just be that. It would just be that. Yeah, I think we could just pay shadow the hedgehog in bullets. No, no, I think if you pay that guy money, he steals it from. I think that guy is out there has been out there Robin people on the Internet if I'm not mistaken. Okay. I believe the voice of pa rappa the rapper has done some of that as well. Is it like a cameo sitch type of deal? I think it's like, oh, send me some money and I'll record a thing for you. And then like, ha ha, Bucky. I'm not going to do nothing. I believe that is. That went. Yeah. Speaking about shadow the hedgehog, we got our own shadow of the hedgehog. I'm sorry it was knuckles. It was knuckles. Yeah, that's okay. Because Idris Elba said it's not gonna be sexy knuckles, but our sexy knuckles on the team, Jeff, baccala. Thank you for calling me sexy. Appreciate that. See knuckles. Just yeah, I got sucky knuckles. Everyone knows about that. That's my feeling. That's why you like the keyboards because it shows it off. Yeah, I got to stare at something might as well be a sexy pair of knuckles, you know what I mean? Yeah. Yeah. Speaking about his sexy pair. We got Daniel dwyer. Hey, what's up? Can I get sexy tattooed on one of my knuckles and knuckles tattooed on the other? No, just knucks. Oh. Sexy nuts. All right, and this pretty much all is almost like a pre show question and it's a hockey related thing. So instead of asking chef back, I'm going to ask Ben Pak, Ben Pak. Is the knuckle puck the most powerful move in hockey. Oh, I mean, as a child, you learn that really early on, so yeah, it definitely is. And I just want to I just want to thank you for having a Bobo like me along in your podcast. Yep, yep, that's my guy. I learned I learned how to the fun thing about dota is it teaches you a lot of ways to insult and curse at people and other languages as you play more Russian Portuguese tagalog Spanish. The list goes on. The list goes on and on. And you know what else goes on and on is the giant bomb dot com survey. We're not going on. I see this in our show notes and backlash that do it at the top. So we're doing it at the top. Pick up here. Yeah, dad. We got fun questions there. The cops are here. They want to know about you. Submit your pain. Known to come. Jeff bakalar. Real stickler for authority. That's right. That guy. At least want to know about people. It's been a long time since we run one of these things, you know? We used to run one, not annually, but it was just a handful of times. Sometimes it would be like podcasts, companies would want to know who listens to this show, so we know which brand of ball shavers to sell. Right. How big are those balls? Right. We fuck, we forgot to how big are your balls? Is that the results? Canceled premium is because they're balls are too big. We're not offering up. Yeah, we can't do. We can't handle them. We're not. We're not built for that kind of ball. Do you know what I mean? Big ball content. Yep. Okay. Really early results seem to indicate more big content. I mean, speaking of early results, there's been a lot. So thank you to everyone who has participated in this thing. Don't say that, because then no one else would do it. You have to say the opposite. You have to say, oh no. No one has done it. Yeah, I run a Patreon. I know the tricks. You gotta really destroy the answers where we need you to do it again. Yeah. It has 5 on that shit as much as you can. So that's your parents, your old stick it on Facebook, so your old high school, your forehead, put it on your sticker, you know, spread it around, make sure it goes on nice and even. And yeah, giant bomb dot com slash survey. Super simple..

"Don't know. No. Yeah. E three is used to be a real weird time for me. Let me tell you. I think that was the year before you were in person at the Sony thing. Oh fuck, why would you, you know what, though? I remember calling you guys a part of me is I do remember calling you guys and I also remember saying something to the effect of like, I think I said literally never again. Will I do this? And I've made good on that promise. I just, yeah. I remember saying that and I'm proud of that being able to cash that in. So I think that I don't mind not necessarily I'm sure I've gotten game news in the back of a taxi or something. They have those source similar to the gas station type thing they'll have the screens in the back of a cab. That's always a weird one, but I guess it was probably when I was homesick and on the toilet when Sega had the conference call, announcing that they were canceling the Dreamcast or that they were working on Dreamcast. I was pooping. So not feeling well. Makes sense. It's appropriate. Yeah. Yeah, all right. All right, well, hey, that's where we're gonna tie it all up. Gentlemen? Emails to bombcast a giant bomb dot com. Please do not send any more toilet food emails. Yeah. We've hit the quota. We've hit the quota. We've hit the quote. Yeah, that's going to do it for another episode of the giant bombcast. What do we got? We got cooking. Later. Anything we're talking about there's a couple things we can't talk about on Saturday. Some game stuff. It's not ready for prime time, right? Yeah, but not quite yet, but have some games to play as they say. They say that, but mister dwyer is been cutting away at a certain thing, don't want to put a specific date on that, but coming next week. Yeah. Okay. So you can say next week. All right. I don't know what it is. I'm excited. A guilty treasure, perhaps. Then a regular programming as per usual, who knows some quick looks might pop off. Maybe I'll I don't know. Maybe I'll drag one of you guys to play the jelly bean firefighter game with me. Let's do it. I heard that goes places. I don't know. It does. Okay. All right. All right, look forward to it. That'll do it for us. Thanks for tuning in. We'll see you next time..

"Hey there, welcome back to the giant bobcats before we head into the news section. I just got chewed the fuck out in my own home. For eating seaweed like those seaweed strips. The stink. I love those. Well, I feel okay. So we're divided here, but like I wasn't expecting that. It was wait, just waiting for more just for you got because of the stench or because they leave weird little crumbs everywhere. What's the actual beef? You're right. Either of those two would have been irrational reasons, but at least they would have been reasons for nothing. Nothing more than like my wife just doesn't think they taste good and therefore I'm a big dumb fucking idiot for enjoying that. Pretty much. Oh, as a lover of garbage. Food, who married a sometimes vegan? Let me tell you. Occasional vegan? Occasional vegan. I mean, look. The seaweed stuff's like, that's a good snack. I feel like one calorie. It wasn't on the ocean. I am trying to eat garbage all the time. I'm trying to fill myself with the most devastating mini tacos I can get my hands on and I was trying to take care of yourself and actually cares and all that sort of stuff. I just. They're so delicious to me. I love it. I can't stop eating them. I could eat a whole 6 pack in one sitting if I wanted to. And it would be for my son. My son, too, and I can not sit in the same fucking room when he does it. But they don't have to leave. I don't think they really smell. It's the smell. It's the smell. It's a smell. I don't remember smelling too much. Yeah. Maybe I'm just like blind to the scent. I don't know. Most sense, yeah. Interesting how the amazing our bodies aren't they? Anyway, new stuff. Ben. You got the news? I got the tell. Buddy, here's the thing. I got the news. Hey, how's your news? Hey, this just did. The news. What's up guys? How's the news going? You tell us. Not busy. Pretty slow week..

"There a comic? Is there a superhero out there with a totally normal family dynamic? Have you ever seen the movie? That's got to be the majority. I feel like that cloud and fought him. I didn't know that. I'm just trying to yeah, anyway, you know, but fine. Maybe the more obscure ones that people don't know the backstory is as fluently as they know your Superman's and your Spider-Man's and your Batman's and what have you. And, you know, he's just like, oh, and now he's, I mean, there's a whole other thing. I feel like we've crossed the threshold of everything is death now, and it's like, oh, what happened to that guy? Did he die? And I'm like, no. It's fine. Everybody's fine. He actually was okay. Everything's fine. What happened to that referee did he die? I'm like, no, she please just don't stop. It's hard. It's hard. Guess that's how red kids get into Halloween? Okay. It's probably a big factor for a child of Halloween. I imagine it's tough to deal with like a child who is becoming cognizant of the idea of death. Like I definitely remember as a kid, the first time a pet died, like that was a big moment of just like you have to realize this is a thing that's never coming back. It's tricky. You just have to, you know, you just have to teach him to enjoy life, I guess, right? Like that's the best thing you can do is be like, well, you know? We've only got a short time. You know, you're really gonna take your time. You're gonna be dead suit, so enjoy it while it lasts. I was gonna suggest get him into anime, but then anime follows the same thing. Goku. No mom. Gone. Believe me. Not a good. We've exhausted all the branches and paths we can go down. It made me feel the same way hero here 'cause we don't know his parents. He's a great dad. He's a great guy. I love him great dad. It's tall man. I've been watching Dragon Ball and it's so funny. It's so funny scene like the early seasons of just real quick. Early seasons of Dragon Ball where it's like, kid Goku is running around a castle and running away from like a giant pinball and announces he's like, is Goku gonna make it out of this one when like in Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball tie. He's literally like fighting God. Probably not. Probably not. He's probably gonna get crushed by a big rock and die. Yeah. It's pretty tough. But anyway, we don't have to spend too much time on that issue. That's a personal airing it out there. I need the sort of group therapy stuff that helps go along with banking. Thank you for that. I'm sorry, we just do more death at you. Yeah, no, you really, you really made the situation a lot worse. I was gonna say, yeah, because I mean, if you really, if you really want to go all the way down this rabbit hole, you know, if there's like, what about climate change? What about the world? Forget about the superhero stuff. What about the daddy? Will I live to be 45? And I'm like, I don't yeah, let's just make sure he's crossing the show..
