Fresh update on "giancarlo stanton" discussed on Bloomberg Daybreak

"On Wall Street, time to get the Bloomberg sports update. Good morning, Scott Steinberg. Good morning, Nathan Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron judge both Holmes as the bombers finished off a sweep of the a's 5 three. The Yankees 25 and one when judge and Stanton Homer in the same game, including 9 and O this season. It was Aaron judge. You know, we know what's ahead of us. We know it's halfway through the year now. And still a long way to go, but, you know, everyone's important, you know, I just spent so many years, we look back and, you know, we're getting down to the inter September and it's like, we're fighting in claw and we're having game out, half a game up. And I think guys are starting to realize the importance of, hey, you know, even these, you know, if we won the series, but this third game, it means a lot down the road. The Yankees will play one game in the Houston tonight before heading to Cleveland for a weekend series, Luis severino will get the start. The mets, meanwhile, lost a pitcher's duel to the Astros tune up in yesterday Justin Verlander went 8 shutout innings allowing just two hits, and Taiwan walker matched him, going 7 and a third shutout innings allowing just before hits, Jason Castro's two run Homer off of drew Smith in the top of the 9th was the difference the mets are off tonight. They host the rangers tomorrow night. At Wimbledon, Novak Djokovic cruised in straight sets, three seed Casper rude was upset by Hugo umber and American John Isner defeated two time champion Andy Murray, the second round exit the earliest exit for Murray at the all England club. I'm Scott Edinburgh with Bloomberg sports. Nathan? All right, Scott, thank you 6 37 on Wall Street. Time now to take a look at stocks, some of the names moving in the pre market as we get ready for the final day of the first half, we are joined this morning by Bloomberg radio and TV markets correspondent creating Gupta got to think investors just want to close the books. I mean, you look at the terminal this morning, what's in the green? Only one stock Nathan, and it's interesting here, it's PepsiCo, PEP, your tickets, up only two tenths of 1%. So I wouldn't call it a massive move to the upside, but given the context that you are looking at where you do have futures down over 1% and you have some of these other stocks up down, well down, just period. I think that's pretty significant. I will say though, there are two stocks that are actually flat this morning and it's Kellogg and its Kroger. And if you actually look at the perhaps the thread between all three, it's that their food related company. So it kind of seems like the new defensive trade we talked a lot about this has been oil, but it's also been food companies, food packaging companies, fertilizer companies. So perhaps there is that thread, but also keep in mind Nathan, as you mentioned, people are closing their books. It's the last day of the quarter. It's the last day of the month as well. So there is going to be extremely low volume and there's going to be rebalancing flows and the bonus on top here. The cherry on top of a really not so great Sunday is that we are going into the July 4th weekend here in the states. So there isn't going to be a ton of conviction to hop into positions when you have those dynamics at play. Yeah, but you got to think with kind of loss this deep for the futures contracts creedy. There's more going on here than just repositioning into the third quarter, isn't there? There might be. And there is always the fundamental narrative. I always like to go with the fun flows first just to kind of explain it a little bit from that angle. But there is a narrative here that just how much room do we really have our very own Danny Berger pointed out that this is the worst start to the year going all the way back to 1962. And if you think and go back in 1962 for those of you who can. Yes, who were alive? I sadly was not. But if you go back in the history books and you look at it in 1962 with such a crucial year because let me nerd out for a second if I can. You basically have this massive run up in what was their version of these big tech stocks called the nifty 50 was a Xerox. It was IBM. It was Disney. These high flying stocks that were lifting the entire benchmark, and then it was followed by what they call an end called the Kennedy slide. So for 9 straight months, the market just collapsed. There was no real reason that even the head of the stock exchange said it's not a liquidity problem. It's not a plumbing problem. They're just kind of repricing from those monumental gains and the one pivot point was in October 1962, which if someone remembers from their history books was the Cuban missile crisis. So I wonder how much of this also has the backdrop of those kind of Cold War esque feelings. And I also wonder how much of the war in Ukraine is weighing on the story. Yeah, history being made in 2022. Thanks for this creedy good having you on with us Bloomberg radio and TV markets correspondent. Credi Gupta ahead of the market open. This final day of the first half S&P futures are down, 56 points or one and a half percent Dow futures down 374 NASDAQ futures lower by 210 points. That is a drop of

" GP sports, I've checked Freeman. They went back and forth in a scoreless duel in New York, two teams that had visions of playing in October, and the Houston Astros scored late to beat the New York mets to nothing. Justin veranda was outstanding, earning his tenth win after his return from Tommy John surgery. I definitely feel different, you know, some of my pitches haven't felt as sharp, some of them have felt better. You know, I think my curveball this year has been really good. I feel largely the same, but the stuff seems to be playing a little bit different. He tossed 8 innings allowed two hits with 8 strikeouts. Mike mancuso, New York. While in The Bronx, the New York Yankees completed a three game sweep of the Oakland a's 5 to three, Giancarlo Stanton hit a three run Homer. His last 6 hits have been the long ball. It's an interesting time right now. We're not getting too many hits, but when I am in the Homer. The LA Dodgers avoided a three game sweep with an 8 four win at Colorado. Boston held on for a 6 5 win in extra innings in Toronto, Minnesota scored three in the tenth, Cleveland scored four to win 7 to 6 the game winner, a two run shot from Josh naylor. Rowdy teles has hit 5 home runs since Sunday. He hit a pair in leading Milwaukee to a 5 three win over Tampa. Be more compact and not as aggressive in a swing. Has helped me make more contact and be able to keep everything in the middle of the field. Yeah, you got a two run blast from Avi Garcia in the 9th four four three comeback win at St. Louis. Atlanta down Philadelphia four to one, Adam Duvall hit a 400 foot home run, the braves now 21 in 5 in June. Whoever we put in there right now is stepping up and doing the job and that's huge. Oh, the angels over the Chicago White Sox, Pittsburgh, Washington, Kansas City down Texas, San Diego, Arizona, Detroit one at San Francisco, Seattle be Baltimore and the Chicago Cubs beat Cincinnati. NBA, James Harden will opt out of 47.7 million from Philadelphia as the team works a deal in hopes of using money saved to help build the roster. Check Freeman, AP sports.

employees across the U.S. and around the world how did they manage this during the lockdown Were you able to deal with this or did you go into the pandemic semi virtual anyway So because we have such a big global footprint and such a diversity of businesses from life sciences to obviously private equity and credit and tech growth and venture capital and many others We were used to working across our platform and how do we activate our platform when we're looking at various situations Now we obviously had never encountered anything like we saw in March of 2020 But we had the technology in place in huge credit to our technology team that everything worked We decided early on that we were going to make sure everybody from the most junior analysts to the most senior people in the firm had any technology they needed at their homes If they need to routers if they needed their Internet sped up new laptops a screen A lot of firms spend a lot of time figuring out what they were going to do And we made the concerted effort to enable people as fast as possible In Boston we even had a group going around with literally a pickup truck and they moved our trade stations our trader stations and reset them up in their homes Within the first week of the pandemic we never missed an hour But when I stepped back and I reflect on that period of time and what we've learned over the last two years it really has brought out the entrepreneurial spirit that defines us And it has brought us closer together People hop on a Zoom with colleagues in Mumbai with more ease and more comfort today.

"Judge Giancarlo Stanton. So the Yankees they could've paid a last year's book there beat up Chris, but it doesn't seem to stop him. It's just next band up and they continue to hit homers and score runs. Brian Cashman's done such a great job of building death in this organization and even with not having your full minor league set, but having players of the alternate site ready to go, we've seen one of those players that was a big chip. The Yankees traded for God and Clint Frazier coming over. He's got an opportunity to play every day over the last few days, and he's a kid that's got a lot of talent, former first round pick He's an exciting one in the bunch. But there are others as well. Mike talk being another one of them of great kid watch, And I think that we'll see tonight just as we saw last night's a big contributions, and it could be in any part of that of the order. Not just the top right time for our game plan is brought to you by Cooper Tires Goal with the Coopers. What do you got? Well, I'm looking at the Red Sox just being able to be a little bit more patient I thought last night and that's a little aggressive Kevin Pillar, particularly at the top of the order. Free swinging a little bit of times where it really should be trying to work the count a little bit. Make that pitcher first more pitches get on base, so I think it's a key for them to start at the top. They've got some players. J. D. Martinez is getting hot. Devon's a good player. Bogart's saw him Homer last night. They've got to do that, and they're starting Pitching's got to give them a chance. Now, I don't know. Chris Maza could be tough, first Big League start, but they got a hope for the best. All right. Starting lineups down for the Red Sox seven. Pilar leads off center Raphael Devers, 1/3 base hit second in the third spot. J D. Martinez right field, Xander Bulk Arts will clean it up and play shortstop. The GH Tonight is Christian Vazquez. Alex Verdugo in left Field, and Verdugo will hit 667 1st baseman is Michael Chavis. Kevin pull. Ueki Hits eight. Catcher Jonathan Arrows will play second base and he will hit for the Yankees. Aaron Hicks leads off center Your Shelagh will play third base and he will bad second. Michael top men is in the third spot in right field. Labor Torrez shortstop cleaning it up Mike Ford first. That's Gary Sanchez. It's six the catcher Brett Gardner, the seventh spot. Left field that D H is Clint Frazier. He hits eight starting at second base in place of the injured deejay. LeMay, you it is Tyler, wait and Wade will hit Died. Invention J have 37 years old. Tall guy at 65 £205 0 and won this year with a 10 29 are a This is his third star. He's through seven innings. "The news is not what you want Erin judges going on the injured list, Aaron Boone says. It's a mild calf strain right now. Your Yankee fan, I don't know if you believe anything. You just expect the worst when it comes to the health. Expect a win, But you expect bad stuff that happened when it comes to injuries. Let's talk more about it with Ricky Ricardo did a great job filling in for John Sterling. Does the game in Espanol Ricky Joe on Evan? What's up, baby? Ricky, How are you? Pretty boy just another day at Yankee Stadium, my gun another, my goodness, he it started and we had boon on yesterday. And the way you described yesterday was just didn't feel right. You know, he looked out there, so I just didn't love the way judge was moving takes him out of the game. It raises some eyebrows. Now he's out of the lineup. There's no real definition on what the injury is. And now it leads to this, which is the injured list. What's your take on everything over the last 72 hours? Well, First they said that it may have been because of the turf in Tampa, remember? Ah, remember, they had it all day on Monday, so you figure even if you know the turf was uncomfortable for him on Sunday over the weekend. He had a day off on Monday to recoup and 430 foot shot and you know, it was very, very good for a couple of innings. The Yanks got a big lead. Comes out of the game midway through the ballgame, and there is where you start questioning things. Because it was, I think was 9 to 4. That time they were beaten The Braves. It's a five run lead, which has been known to come back, got a rotating ball club, but it's not an insurmountable lead. And it's not late enough in the game where you're going to make a defense has changed, and I usually don't watch out for anybody else in the outfield anyway. So I started to you know, started the question why they took him out of the game. And then you know, you really started the question things. On Wednesday there was supposed to lower body tightness injury, but Aaron Boone, just as they did some tests on him yesterday, and that's when they found out the mild right Cats train, according to Aaron. He might work through this over the weekend. It could be ready to come back, maybe Monday or Tuesday, but they've decided to put him on the I'll just play it safe. And interesting that they're not bringing up Miguel and do harder. They're going to replace Judge with Carrero Estrada. He is on his way to Yankee Stadium. So no judge. It's retroactive toe Wednesday, so 10 days you'd probably be back. Att's some point during the subways series next weekend in the field. Just in time to kill the Mets. But But seriously, how concerned to you, Ricky at this point that this guy's just gonna be this injury prone guy all the time. I mean, it just concerns. I watched enough of Aaron Judge and I don't know. You know, general. If it's the body type, you know he's not overly muscular like you know, like one Gonzalez got a few years ago where he was just Bill or even Giancarlo Stanton. Who has been so chiseled, you know that the muscles are so tight and it's easy to get hurt. That's not Aaron. Judge is not that kind of athlete, but you don't worry about the body. He's more of a tight end. Many of arisen your what I received then a baseball player, but Look a zoo, much as you want to give him the benefit of the doubt. This is the 162 game season. You know, it's almost like you can set your watch by it. Unfortunately, at some point he's going to go on the pill. No, You got to be worried. I mean, we've talked about this when he plays baseball. He's a top five Top 10 player in the sport. I mean, I think he's that good defensively, running the bases and then the obvious, which is the power but even his eye the way he draws water, Meas. He's Mr everything but At some point you start to say, Oh, my God, Can you guys stay on the field and I look, I think the Yankees ultimately are making the right call by putting him on the injured list because they've got the depth to deal with it. Deal with it. And you've gotta play it safe with this guy because he's so freakin valuable. Come crunch time. You're in the playoffs. You need him out there, Ricky. Absolutely. You can't run the risk of having him further injured. That cat, and then he's out 4 to 6 weeks, and now you're talking. You know if it's a 4 to 6 weeks situation now you're talking the end of September, and then he's gonna work himself back into playing shape. You know, basically for the playoffs, so they're doing the right thing. You know, Clint Granger came up got in the line of the other night. You saw he had an immediate impact with the home run. He hit hard, just shots all over the field, so the Yankee depth allows them to be overly cautious. You know my concern with judge in his injury history so much this season. I think they're doing the right thing right now. But how does a judge in his representative better his representation? How may approach the accused for a long term. Big money deals When you've got this injury history, that's that's kind of New York that hasn't been a season yet as much as he's impressed and had the original working home run record, the whole thing you know, you're basically the Being on a game. Maybe you want to call him beyond name captain of their team is obviously one of the team leaders. But how can you write now in good conscious, right that guy a huge check and give him a big time extension. Ah la Mookie Betts or anyone like that with this kind of history. No, It's unbelievable to Ricky Ricardo. Of course. Ah, you know, I'm talking Yankee baseball with him. Well, what about Sanchez? I tell you, nobody on this team gets hammered by the fan base mortar, Gary Sanchez. I mean, he has become The absolute punching bag of of the of the Yankees. What? Well, what about that, Ricky? You know me, you know, And, you know, I think I don't. I'm not going to tell you that he used to it. I don't have the same. None of us has the same access. The players that we've had in the past. You know, everyone. I don't really like the father of the guys, especially guys. You know, going through what he's going through, But when I have spoken to him, you know, he's always kept a stiff upper lip. He's always optimistic. At least you know you was here. And for me, it is the old monk also You know what I speak to him? He's real optimistic. He's working up the heart that much. I'll tell you the guy's work ethic and, you know, maybe throwing the game and it just so happens He's got these issues behind the plate in Tampa. Remember the running out of all the first base that that was in Tampa? Some of his bigger, you know, bigger broke laws have happened down at the Trop. But I can say this guy is one of the first people to get here. I could hear real early. He's out there working. He's out there getting all kinds of balls thrown to him. Short hops. He's working on catching Taking extra batting practice, So there's nothing I can say is that he's a well A trying to prove this, But no. Is he aware that that he has become a you know a pinata? Amazing for a lot of a man. You know that some corn it's got to affect Yeah, you would think you know you mentioned before? We're talking to Ricky Ricardo that the Yankee corresponding move is tyro Estrada, which, from a versatility standpoint makes a lot of sense. You could stick the guy anywhere. Miguel and do hard now remains stock at the alternate site, and that's despite injuries to Giancarlo Stanton and injuries to Aaron Judge We always talk about. Hey, Clint deserves a shot Well, Miguel and a harsher one rookie of the year two years ago. Let's be honest, He should've won the award. What about him right now? Because here are two significant injuries in the outfield. You could use him a D. H, and he's not getting a call to come up and help this baseball team. Yeah, That's why I brought it up because he's a guy who we might worry about his psyche about these kind of demotions on and do harder being that close to being with you the year.

"That's where Miguel into our comes in, and that's thanks for him, right? 2018 A L Rookie of the year runner up now loses his job to Geo or some of the magician at third base on the boat that he gets to that's what he has to do now, Bill. That's the way the cookie crumbles. Living. Steve Carell said that his Ah ah, some kind of movie. I don't know it was. It was a good movie about me. So All right, so that you you were talking about finding at bats for one guy. I'll tell you one, You know, I understand today. Giancarlo Stanton had a I think he was over. You struck out It didn't have a great day at the plate. But ah, lot of that, I think was Patrick Corbin. But does is standing a guy who with in some ways with no fans in the stands. Is that maybe gonna benefit him and make him more comfortable. I don't buy that. Because for me to buy that I have to assume that Giancarlo Stanton of the wind. And I seriously seriously. That's the premise of that Enter if you say Yeah, Giancarlo Stanton better because players aren't understand. You're saying that Giancarlo Stanton the wimp. I can't say that I think I don't know what a wimp but what I'm saying is, you know with that contract, and the weight's gone so far with the Yankees and in New York That it's easier if you don't have a lot of fans in the stands potentially booing you. If you get off to a tough start that not having fans around, you can take a big you can take a big exhale. Okay, but I guess that's the case for anybody like and I don't know that that effects Giancarlo stand anymore than affect Gary Sanchez, whose chair but So no, I'm going to stick with right now that he's not a wimp. That's your answer. I just don't think it's a factor. I think that's good Plenty in Miami because of this contract, even though he was a good there were like five people there. There's nobody in the stands for what Maybe if you can hear the boy that saved your mom man screaming, Whatever. Actually, he's probably very comfortable Giancarlo Stanton with the current situation because he's used to play for the Marlins he receives to play with nobody in the stands. All right, so switching. We've talked about past in which to me was one of the top issues, but I felt like Sunday's game was the MVP of the game in many ways, actually. Washington Nationals manager Davey Martinez, who took Patrick Corbin out of the game after 75 pitches when he had before Glaber. Torrez is home run. I think he had retired something like 11 Yankees in a row. I mean, Yeah, sure. I don't know. Where Patrick Corbin was in terms of being built up. I don't know where he was in terms of being stretched out for a start. They pulled him at 75 pitches. Which tells me that Maybe they had that number earmarked for him that he's ah $160 million. I think of the number of investment. You don't wantto break him in a six began season, so I might guess is that's where that came from. Granted. I'm a reporter. Maybe I should know these things, but I just don't know that off my head. But yes, Davey Martinez probably did the Yankees a favor and breaking in. Well, Harris, who then got spanked by Glaber towards us, and then the game of us, So yeah, hey, might have been the M V P of the day Patrick Corbin was was really shoving and the Yankees I want to say dodged a bullet, but they have to attack a weak part of the national book once once you want to this game, you know, Luke. Luke, wait, jumped all over Harris. But once once this game turned into a bullpen game, Yankees had a love their chances and, ah You know, feel way more confident. Obviously, in this game you mentioned er, Shelagh and in the defence and just how eo in talking to him over this summer and settling in whether it's back from spring training to now is, how different are things for Geo or Shelagh? The You know, Suddenly he is he's the everyday guy and how much his fortunes have changed. I mean, yes. 19 days, right. The last time he was an everyday guy was when he was a regular at Triple A with the Indians. Or, I guess regular Triple eight with the Yankees late in 2018 that that's when he was solidified. And the job was his. No doubt, I guess without injury, So, yeah, it's different. It's huge. Yeah. You hope Ifyou're Brian Cashman's that he relive the magic that he has last year. I've written it so many times that he had 3 14 with 21 home run. No one saw that coming, But I don't see why he can't keep that going. If you watch Geo or Shelagh in batting practice practice, which we're not allowed to do any more because of the Corona virus. But if you watch it during spring training, and but during the spring training reboot That guy hit bomb. So I think it's legitimate. I think it's real. I think the defense is never going to go away. And I think that you know there's no reason why he can't be this guy from that leaves in a few years. Switching gears and last question before I let you go because I know you gotta have a little drive your you have tryingto trying to stay safe and get from place to place in the middle of my mom and dad tomorrow important, that's excellent social distancing there, right? Yes, yes, very much so I can get absolutely so. Actually, let me ask you before I want to ask you about Johnson lies again. But before I do is so how How different How weird. Is it covering under these circumstances versus what you're used to? It's My immediate word was awful. But in reality, it's the best that We can do for now, right? Because most importantly, more than anything you want everyone to stay. Thank you Want everyone to do the right thing? You want everyone to be as comfortable as possible. Ah, from reporter standpoint. I make my money off. Speaking to plan getting stories that other places might not get trying to bring information the fans they may not receive eloquent And in this day and time when we're trying to limit human contact, which is so crazy, Considering what the social species um Yeah, it's tough on reporters in general, but Cool, mighty complain. I have a job. I'm lucky. I have Boston so understanding and I have co workers. We all pitch in and help each other and try to keep it under Well said. All right, so I do want to ask you about Louise again. I thought that was another story worth noting from this game besides the bullpen, which to me big story the game, but The wise ago. What did you see from him? He goes three innings. He does give up the home run, but I know there's been a lot of talk before the game. Aaron Boone was saying that he's a three plus pitch pitcher and the change up. I didn't see much of it..

"T see that, But it's not unusual to have pictures work like that without an L screen. Um A lot of pictures Just don't like the feel of it. They don't like. Ah, it's been a lot of mental minto livery with armed finishes and how they pull that through and really what they what they feel about it so It's not a given that everybody uses a screen and get further along the situations, you know, simulated games. It's almost never used. That was kind of in between a game and a batting practice, I guess. And Tanaka opted not to use it. Jordan Montgomery saw what happened. That's again a personal purpose at this point. That could just as easily happened sometime in the last two hours here. Pictures are using screen right now they're playing an interesting game. Giancarlo Stanton was up and judges. Anyone of these guys could've done the exact same thing and not strength. Back up the box. Um, unfortunately happened then I don't think there's anything to be reacting to this as faras. Everything else screams gay. I mean, you know, I think there's if that's the case If that's what you're afraid of. Then this being l screen you know during the game, and you know if you brought the first base for the third day, I have to get it. That's if you're worried specifically about the safety of the picture. So Um, I don't think there's a leak overreacted and it was just really weird. Given everything that we kind of watched event that this happened, you know a couple of minutes into the very first day, so we needs good hearing your voice. Hopefully, you have a lot more work with baseball. Over the next few months. We'll catch up. Hopefully in an hour to have some happens. It's summer camp. It's weird. It seems like all the pictures way way ahead of the headers. Is that going to be something we watch in two weeks and I just hope we're watching baseball in two weeks. Crawl before we could walk, Say 40 here on his butt and get a lot more. It calls to get you see, get imported. "More and unfortunately it's got to be something more really you can only believe in luck when the ball hit the bat or when a baseball was thrown when it comes to health when it comes to injuries when it comes to players bodies there's something going on here now do you think you can say look we changed our whole medical staff were work getting new with the time but to these injuries Severino Pakistan they stem from last year maybe even the playoffs last year and Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron judge these are new injuries there one from this year so where do you even start if you're the Yankees if you're Brian Cashman you're just gonna have to do what you did last year you have to cross your fingers you have to hope that players like Clint Frazier geo are shallow Mike huckman maybe a guy like Rosell Herrera who's been tearing it up this spring Tyler wages the whole cast the characters you need them to step in for the injured stars or for you know what looked like a World Series title fees and what looked like a historic type season will go down the tubes quick yeah and it's just so frustrating with the body types of Stanton and judge we all know and even sense as we know that you know we're not surprised that it's harder for them to stay healthy and everybody's got there is about you know ego getting involved in it and all season work outs and guys don't take any time off and how do you tell players that they're better off doing less than doing more and taking more time off and being you know for lack of a better word Lazier than they are it just is frustrating because you know like we don't know what's the matter with judge right now but Yankee fans Brendan as you know have been conditioned to think the worst is almost always the worst it's almost always two months when we're hoping it'll be one week in and that's how it's been the last few years so everybody expects that this will be bad to well you know part of that is Hey we're new Yorkers right you know what we we expect the worst and with the Yankees recently anyway we've been getting it nobody ever comes back from the test and says Hey you know what wasn't that bad will be back a week from Monday it just doesn't happen not you're completely right it seems like every time we ask for a injury update every time that we talked to a play about how we feel and if we're doing great we're doing while we're feeling fine things are progressing until suddenly they're back under you know inside an MRI to suddenly they're being sent back to New York and being put under a knife and you don't see them pitch again until twenty twenty one so you wonder if they're saying you know what I mean for mission issue with with that with the Yankees in the AL hello miss handling some of this stuff they're they're letting out there or whether you know to tell you the truth it it meant medicine hard hard hard yeah and figuring things out these things out is really hard to the Yankees tend to head toward conservative type approaches and I think anybody would would want that for themselves the last thing you want to do is go under at night so you know who's to say exactly what's right exactly what's wrong but just things have definitely not been going right that you can definitely say Chris and and let's let's finish the discussion because I want to get into the ball club with with just baseball players in general you know when we think about the greats the Ted Williams the Joe DiMaggio the Ken Griffey's you know there there aren't many caught sculpted guys in today athletes in general are all you know working out for a long times and they are they are tightly wound instruments it seems so the fan out there and you talked about it you know the New York fan and and the baseball fan that watches a lot of baseball with a lot of rich history and a lot of tradition they don't think about many players in their past that they can remember that are built like Aaron judge or Giancarlo Stanton or even Gary Sanchez for that matter that are just not strong so that enters into a lot of people's thinking as well is that you know we are creating these these robo type players and they're so tightly wound that it's harder to keep them healthy as that discussion going around with you media guys or with people that you've talked to around the club about just the general steel lead make up of some of these players hello sure you know these are you know if you ever seen space jam these guys are built like the mom stars who took on Michael Michael Jordan but I would look at the bill look look at the players in the seventies sixties fifties forties with those guys were getting paid right not what these guys are getting paid now the information that those guys had them is not the information okay these guys have now and the contract in guaranteed money that those those guys had it's not what they have now so these players you know they understand their bodies they know what's going on and they know what's going to get them paid they're not going to risk themselves year to year like those players in the past would I mean and you can't blame them for that no but if they're they're not going to you know put themselves through and then forced himself to play too bad backs are bad arms just as the another payday because they know they want to secure that bag you know in the future right so so I yeah these guys are are built like monsters these guys are athletic I don't want to say freaks but they're incredible athletes but there's just it's just a different time and these players don't want to mess up the the potential money they could begin going forward yeah and in the one of the things you talked about adds to the frustration for the fan right now and that is we do have so much more information so if we do why are we better read better keeping players healthy so that kind of of dichotomy there is difficult for the fans to deal with because you know we got the smartest people we got great trainers we got a million opinions we got a million we got nutritionists we got you know we did everything you could possibly want to keep healthy and yet were less healthy than we've been so I think that part of it is driving people crazy let's talk a little bit about positions and and how you're expected to play out let's start with Mike talk man because there's a guy that twelve months ago nobody had heard other than really was such a great contributor what kind of spring is he had and and what role do you see him playing you're starting left fielder and Giancarlo Stanton can't be ready for opening day but you know what now that I think about it even if stand is ready for opening day the Yankees have to strongly strongly consider making him full time DH maybe an eighty twenty type Philippine DH and left field and right field the talking will be your starting left fielder great to love plenty of range in left field were Yankee stadium's left field is not like other left field it's really really big complacent field and brings lefty popped his bat the prize but you know the last couple years have come to the Yankees and started to figure things out you talk about your shallots Cameron Maybin talked with Mike Ford Mike Ford loop voice voice so the issue seems to be doing something right they they should be fighting with these players do well teaching them so to do it over and over again and my fat bike Foxman really is someone the only be eighty cents should be excited about he started slow this spring you remember last year he had the left calf strain that put him on ice in September so his season ended early and the Yankees want to make sure that he was healthy this spring but all systems are go right now he's our starting left fielder and Yankee fans should feel good about I wanted to ask you about a bunch of guys but you know what I think would be better is if you tell us what you've garnered so far or what has been most interesting about camp to you so that we don't miss the biggest points because I think that when you go down there you have a certain thought in your mind about what you what questions you want answered what things you're most interested in obviously the injuries come to take away part of that interest and and keep it from being you know and just an evaluation time instead it's a news writing time about Severino or Stanton or or judge but but you came into camp with some notions tell us about what's been most impressive where they might be most concerned with you know with three weeks left in camp when I go down to spring training it's hard to focus on the veteran players right and if you want to make sure they're healthy you want to make sure their their opening day because spring training staff really they don't matter you know Gary judge kids two hundred for spring training as long as he's healthy you feel good about him going into opening day what I love to watch are the prospects the young players particularly for the Yankees if their young pitching prospects Clarke Schmidt there are two thousand seventeen thousand eighteen thousand seventeen first round pick right he looks like you have the chance maybe an outside chance of opening day rotation probably not considering that on the forty man roster the egg you don't just have somebody like him do you think our CFO so hard because the great curveball you might be the best pitching prospect in general guys who are in the lower level of lake Louise Gil and Louise Medina you know these guys are are flamethrowers striking guys out left and right you really have to feel good about what the Yankees have in their farm system from a pitching standpoint when it comes to position players you know there there's not a whole lot of promise toward the upper levels at the moment today you thought Anthony Vultee you know he's grew up in New York City moved to Jersey with adult bar in high school he made his first big league camp appearance shortstop eighteen years old he is you know in the future maybe at shortstop but you know this isn't really the young pitching that that I was interested to see and if the young pitching the Yankees are gonna have to rely on especially with Paxton possibly up to June July in may especially with Severino done for the year you're looking at Jordan Montgomery Clark Smith David Garcia Jonathan the wife to go those kind of Tang right my king my king of course I'm sorry I'm thinking of a hard throwers of making is that the two theme type guy get a lot of ground ball pitchers to contact he could be a Jordan Montgomery type in twenty seventeen demolition Jordan Montgomery coming in well suddenly have a major league pitcher on their hands and and Mike came you know could be that kind of back so as you look at that fifth starter assuming Montgomery is the four and there hasn't been anything so far in the spring that would knock Montgomery out of that I don't think specially given that he has the big league experience and you know he went through the college program and he probably you know will not the panic out there in any way so assuming he's the four is it between Schmidt and king and allies ago sassa is that the group of four maybe that are are bidding to be the fifth starter somebody else I'm missing that might still be there well you know what Montgomery because he's he looked really good this spring he said ninety five miles an hour and you've got thirty six I believe career major league starts right under his belt right you know you've got number four on lock when you talk about the fifth starter first you have a look at.

"But it's not just a strained calf every other word strain in sports like okay you know whatever you tweak something back in a week maybe to melt this is one of those no time table for Giancarlo Stanton's returned and he was notably terse with the media and admitted he is highly highly frustrated right now with all things in his career because he can't stay healthy now you can look at his body and his career and start thinking about repeated injuries and go ahead and if you want you can try to start to connect dots and and form an opinion and I know a lot of people think that and I don't know if it's true and I don't know if it's not true and so I won't really go there but maybe maybe that's maybe that's something that's going on right now with with Giancarlo Stanton that might be the case but I'll just look at it from this standpoint remember how badly we all wanted them remember how offended we were when we said well I'm not going there I'm not going there how about the cardinals nope not going there I will be a New York Yankee M. man never play and now the most angry fans in America hate me on a nightly basis you could call that karma maybe maybe that's a piece of this as well I just thank you can't always get what you want sometimes you get what you need and here we are coming out of an off season with the giants decidedly did not do what most of you wanted them to deal which was gold jet presence let's go shopping to get some stuff I was with you I thought they would do more than they did but they didn't M. then Giancarlo Stanton got hurt again and I thought to myself you know what they have all the deals that the giants fans or any fan days especially when they're high price deals of all the deals that you really want that don't happen don't feel like eighty percent of the time that ends up being a really good thing let me give you some more all right as I was arriving to start my time here can be our last year what were we in the midst of all man man I I got here and seventy five percent of our content on these boards later was Bryce Harper related that's it Bryce Harper related do you want now now you might still say yes is still a fantastic player but when you start to run the numbers that you then saw in a hitter's park in Philadelphia and the money that they needed to be spent on that and what that would mean at this particular time for an organization like the giants when you say you're probably good thing that didn't happen Robyn good thing that it didn't happen and by the way my sneaky little suspicion is that Farhan Zaidi cut a deal wasn't going to happen Farhaan if you trace his career I've talked about this before has become really good at coming in second place at the right time he did it with the Dodgers a lot to the point where the Dodgers still doing it the Dodgers is still doing it and and their fan base is different because they're in the midst of like still complaining about the Astros and the red Sox I am feeling like they are in their win window which the giants are not and and they have a payroll that is through the roof I got all these great players and so darn it they should be winning every single time and therefore they should win in the free agent RB as well do you notice they keep not getting Gerrit Cole and not getting Anthony ran down the keep finishing in second because how many months are we away from ran down in cold being she's sure those deals didn't turn out like we thought my guess is worth three months away from out of thought maybe they'll be great but boy they better pay for it for that price remember when a lot of us wanted to trade Tim Lincecum for Alex Rios I don't even know what happened Alex Rios I know the Tim Lincecum flamed out but not until the giants won a whole bunch of World Series and he won a whole bunch of cy Youngs and all that good stuff happened take it to the warriors remember when clay Thompson was gonna go for Kevin love and without conversation if thank you Jerry west holy crap thank you thank you that that did not happen now a lot of us self included wanted Nick Castellanos this offseason well see my eyes will be on that to see how that one ends up playing out there are a few others I can remember in recent memory three years ago Matt I wanted the giants to get Ben Zobrist I really want to guys use can be perfect is versatile is all this he went to the cubs instead at age thirty five and one kinda nice year and then the rest was just kinda mad and and now he's out of baseball so when it comes to big dollars usually sit this one out is the right thing to do even though your fans want you to go get that guy every time let's be honest what do you think Diamondbacks fans are going to say in two years about Mason Saunders and is eighty five million dollars of course field south what do you think maybe they'll love it and maybe it doesn't matter because that's Madison and we love him no matter what and that's true but my guess would be in that ballpark at that age a Travelocity eager to give up a lot of home runs I can give up a lot of home runs so we'll see if that was something I thought tonight as we watch this spring game if you've got false all map fire away eight await KMB are are coming up next I want to dive in specifically to some of the individual performances tonight because some of them were key and we'll do a stock up stock down there were two games today so there's a lot to get to there and in particular tonight I think there's one player who was on the giants last year he's tried hard for a roster spot this year I do not like his chances I'll tell you exactly who I'm talking about coming up next we'll get your calls it a a cambiar delaski round the corner at "And you think about the Yankees in the way they acquired Giancarlo Stanton I remember being on that night was a Friday into Saturday as the story was coming out and I was like going through the story and I'm like I don't want Giancarlo Stanton the Yankees giving up prospects for Giancarlo Stanton need Giancarlo Stanton it is that story unfolds throughout the morning it's like hold on a second they're getting him for close to nothing what do I sign this is too good to be true why would you not want Giancarlo Stanton that was the whirlwind of emotions now I think the emotion among CMOS Yankee fans is I wish we had a do over because yes the Yankees ended up getting Giancarlo Stanton for very little because they had to take on the entirety of the contractor a good majority of the contract but now we've watched genco stand going through his first year in the Bronx where he failed in clutch situations in was terrible in the post season last year he played basically sixteen regular season games and could not get to the postseason why in game one of the LCS then missing the next three games that coming back in game five and looking totally shot D. reputation right now a stand is that April you may glass and looks like a guy that is not going to age well for years to come yes if I could have a do over I absolutely would take that do over and would not have taken on that contract knowing he's going to be here until twenty twenty seven how outrageous is that Giancarlo Stanton will be on the books for the New York Yankees until twenty twenty seven he will become more and more public enemy number one how does that change for John because that is very simple he's got a goal and deliver October he has a post season run where a couple of big heads and big home runs a mixed in the contract in duration at cash act becomes easier to digest but it won't be about yeah just the idea of warming in a regular season it's about the idea of performing October eight seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six foot said to Bridgewater New Jersey Mike G. up next these on a phallus up Mike which are major JJ microsecond in no no no I can't believe that do before said your show the bomb us out I heard it all man pulls a terrible tank that's what you call that it was a terrible terrible mistake for one of the more valuable Yankees a season ago we'll find out if there is a flash in the pan but after the season he had bomber and are shallow does not belong in the same sentence I'm sure I agree with that but my question is do you know what I surely would Louis Severino you know there being no charge you know you know what is the church wrestler games last year you know I don't think that's really gonna be a huge factor in a rotation of course it's not going to make anything easier but I think our our location should be solid enough to weather the storm J. half I think you're going to work out just fine in the spot either biggest question mark for me is to not go but I feel it should be well now you were speaking about Clint Frazier before we think about Tyler Wade makes everything in okay you know you can pull Germany out feel because you know it's almost shortstop and second base but you know given the two that are there right now I really don't think he's gonna fit in full time and either one of those positions but I do you feel about him making noise there are you know pretty soon in the outfield and and possibly I personally like current clinch ranger but I D. do you know this is my G. ogle Luo grooming Tyler Wade to be a Jack of all trades that begat oil second playable short play all outfield given this dimension of speed that they don't have a whole lot of here's been the problem for Tyler Wade he hit in the minor leagues he killed in triple a he comes up to the big leagues that he can't make contact you can't steal first base now when we saw Tyler Wade in the month of September he was far more productive he hit right around two ninety to ninety five so can tie will we give you production as being a god it's only playing maybe one or two days a week Clint Frazier I think has a chance to have full more of an impact on this team because he's back definitely does play in the big leagues the question with Clint Frazier will he grow Walt was defense be there and if you can answer those questions hello I have four more opportunity apply I agree I agree right now it's point tidal waves of fringe utility infielder that's the way I look at him Frazier right now has a chance to be the fourth outfielder on this team I don't think Mikey he couldn't do enough in spring training to unseat my **** being who is so good for you last year I don't think there's anything couldn't Frazier could do that could take my top and out of the opening day lineup but be very surprised that happens yeah I mean that is jasmine as it Jay near yeah we're not even having this conversation I agree with that and he's a good staff remember Mike the Yankees one hundred plus games a year ago with nothing from Giancarlo Stanton with nothing from we separate I'll now will by the way C. NG team that went out and added Gerrit Cole in the off season so all absolutely they have their race they have their rancor they got the guy you want leading the charge right stop that's what I call signing was so crucial yes they gave him nine years yes they went above and beyond US somebody usually count on to go out give the bullpen arrest dominate be at the top of his game story after story after story they're not is not that kind of pitcher that is a great money pitcher he's a great big game pressure but yeah he's out somebody's one of best all baseball they should feel the way we call that the nationals do which shares or that the Astros do informal and and by the way the way the Mets tuition of about that's what Gerrit Cole's been the last two years and I think that's what the Yankees are counting on I will sell for nine years and three hundred plus million they cannot big starts in the regular season a kennel big stars in the postseason and I have every reason to believe care call is gonna come hit the ground running could they be early adjustment to New York City sure we signal gas put he strikes me as a guy who is very much in parades the idea of being here he did not seem the least bit uncomfortable in spring training meeting the media at his introductory press conference back in December and January well so I can feel like you guys gonna be ready to rock and roll is it a Hillsdale New Jersey Dave joins us he's on a phallus of Dave what's up JJ how are you doing Dave on the wall man no complaints we got there J. J. watt but I want to talk about the New York Mets let's do it red switch it up a bit no problem well so you want it hi how do you feel that I'm doing this season I don't have lost the expectations I know I did a week it shows which opened in the last week and Joe was steadfast on the idea you as the whole while losing Joe always buying the idea that the dangling carrot the motivation for your way as to make more money I was going to resolves but off the top of the range and he's gonna he's gonna make more money right here's the problem with that days you would deal with a massive leg problem you have not played baseball in a year and a half you don't have the luxury of being able to be H. if I am in New York Mets anything I get out of your way says but is is gravy he can not be viewed as going into the year a top notch key contributor if he's the guy that he was in twenty fifteen to twenty sixteen great that's a major boost for the New York Mets just don't count on that being the case eight we sat on the on a suspect's excited for a guy who is not playing baseball in a year and a half you have temperatures expectations first she says there is on the field playing weighing consistently contributing reminding you of the player he once was then you could start to dream a little bit with the expectations maybe that is you but going back in June and start talking thirty or forty home runs a quien sure I'd be happy to have that conversation that would be quite the storyline if you want it says please joins the likes of Alonso in McNeil and Conforto in that that line up that is if he can be the player he was in twenty fifteen to twenty sixteen eight four matic changes a lot I just don't think you can expect that for a guy who's got major problems physically this is not a guy coming back off a broken wrist okay a year and a half and I'll play baseball and that wear and tear playing the outfield and running the bases that's my concern says Brazilian obat look I'm sure you swing a golf club at some point down on his ranch guarantee you want to get on the island it doesn't involve caught how much golf use plain remains to be seen that's one of those questions will probably never get an answer to you put it right there with the wild boar put it right there with puma I wonder if you have found a way to get a Paloma as he goes down there I hope that they will get the sense but is spinning girl interaction the one on one I can hope and pray that there will be a follow up of that but they have all the guys Brody Ross I'm so how many get Evans Boyden Golam nabi the highlight is that I mean that all the guys down spring training well may you garner Reggie Jackson I guess to have Aaron judge some point next week so she says filter down to Tampa no I never been I got to get down to spring training at some point my mom is going next week good far retired school teacher will deserve I couldn't swim Bancolombia going to Vegas Agata responsible here but I think it's twenty twenty one hope Bancorp we find a way down if apple put on the to do list fifth James was around I should be very very proud of me it's probably telling you my priorities in order but that's alright there's a list she's happy I gotta make sure I take Ellis and all the must be thirty five here on this Friday morning at J. J. have to die judges since key right here on the fat eight seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six will get to what the nineteen it could look like for the New York Mets will they give Edwin D. az that job should they give him that job also gets a red hot New York Rangers I think I got to start buying it a lot more calls that coming up next Hey I'm Thomas along with my co host Brian Campbell morning combat brings you with entertaining and informative look at MMA and boxing the biggest fight you can make right now well that's for him as little and Conor McGregor he's already got to be one in the bag you're going to be for him as well due to the world at that point any division.

"The Wednesday development was Giancarlo Stanton saying if I knew what pitch was coming I would hit eighty plus home runs in twenty seventeen that was the year he at fifty nine home runs to lead the league one of the best a home run seasons we've seen outside of the steroid era in baseball history so he's hot under the collar just like a lot of his Yankees teammates Tony Clark said on Wednesday we didn't need to get immunity we didn't need to bargain or broker that because we already had at school there's nothing in the rules that states a player can get disciplined for this kind of behavior so the union was a shield for these Astros players which is interesting because the players who feel like they were wronged by the Astros instead of complaining about their union they're complaining about Major League Baseball when in reality maybe it's more Tony Clark Clark's fault that rob man Fred's hello man Fred could do things outside of just disciplining players either help make this go away or make his stance on it a more powerful one any is screwed that up to me he is pretty much followed a book he's got the blueprint I how to make a scandal grow get even worse and worse and worse and worse and worse what a little blame game who do you blame here who who comes out of this looking the worst and how do you make it go away eight five five two one two four CBS eight by five two one two four two two seven here's Mike in California and CBS sports radio hi Mike thanks for taking my call sure to be a baseball so far I have no idea what yeah can't do the parents good band for it is really dropped the ball in my opinion but I haven't heard anybody locally here in the bay area or nationally suggests the postseason bear your love although done that those people in the bay area that I've talked about it I think I've done a bad job I mean I I I like the stations out there really do I find it hard to believe that no one's at least entertain that idea there some great hosts up there in northern California I'm surprised to hear that I'm a I'm I'm I'm not plus by that because I think that is something you you should you can you should do like why give the Astros the opportunity here to go on a revenge tour yeah we see in other professional sports there's a premier league soccer team Manchester city you might hurt him okay they're banned from the champions league for the next two years because they they lied about their financial records so we've got a we've got a situation going on right now more one of the biggest soccer clubs in the world is getting banned from a post season I would like to thank that created a light bulb moment for rob man Fred but I highly doubt it here's nay in Baltimore on CBS sports radio Hyundai malls gone all day or that the Houston Astros club when the big gamble arm bottom line Major League Baseball teams have been still and fans and see the only trouble on T. on teen years our own without where they use after they got technical these cameras and got a court and that is all in in the open now and the rest would seem to come in all or at least so for any clean with you anything right there well maybe they are maybe they are I'm not saying that there you know pearly white here and you know they've got no skeletons in their closets you know it's funny the Yankees who are aggrieved who feel like they should have gone to a World Series in one not forgetting job by Houston they won World Series titles with Roger Clemens and there's testimony there are some proof out there there's a lot of evidence out there that suggests that Clemens was choosing when he won the world championships with the Yankees into the nineteen ninety nine to two thousand but I.

"Mine is a quality backup catcher. That's what he is. He showed you down Sunday puts bat on the ball calls a good game popular in the clubhouse. Great. You play them every day. He will be exposed and the story. He'll be exposed. So those first couple of games. Gary Sanchez coming back. I mean with the Yankees whether at right now, they can utilize the D H will open more. That's fine. You could h Sanchez. You get the Roma you want get them. Both in a lot. Sure. Go ahead. But the minute Giancarlo Stanton comes back. You have a problem. The minute beginning do our comes back at the sensitive and do her comes back. They're not playing him every at their base. You have a problem there. What about what Aaron hates comes back? See you'll have that free D H spot. We say go do a bevy because eventually there's going to be some moving and shaking Aaron Boone is going to have to do that moving and shaking is not going to be a Wednesday. But at some point in time. Yeah, there will be too many cooks in the kitchen. Players that need burn that will be higher on the pecking order, then your backup catcher leave Austin role on where he's comfortable playing one or two days a week as a backup catcher it's three twenty here on this Monday morning stage here after die chance with you here on the fan. Shame on you. And we'll get you show March and embarrassing behavior out of show marks. "Look, it feels almost silly to say that there's a big game in the month of April and the first week of April or that a player had a big moment, especially when they're playing against the team that won forty seven games last year for watching that game yesterday man it felt like not only a big day for the Yankees to come back and win against the Orioles, but Kleber Torres. It was almost like he announced his presence with authority. Yeah. He sure did. I mean, you know, not just one home run. But to in both of them very loud home runs. It was the second one those three run shot in the six that really really got the going. It gave them the lead in that ballgame. Obviously, obviously lead that they did not give up for the rest of the winning. And you know, it's just one of those things where this team has been scuffling so much here in this first week or so of the season primarily because of all the injuries. Have popped up not just the spring training injuries. But of course, this past week alone with Giancarlo Stanton Miguel and do har- in Troy till Lewinsky all going on the injured list, the keys of kind of needed something to kind of jolt them back to life. They certainly have felt economist Arctic in their play the last few days. And so that was the jolt that they seem to need at least for last night. They needed it that got the day off today. We'll see a we'll see on Saturday if they're able to build off of off of that that big win in that big jolt that the labor tour is provided. But yeah, you know, he's he's a he's a player who's been a little up and down himself at times here in the early going. And you know, he certainly needed that to kind of mixture that he's getting himself onto to some solid footing as the year goes on and. Yeah, weird to say that you know, here in the beginning of April. We're talking about a big game a big spot big home run. But indeed, the Yankees got the got that got two big home runs, of course, again from laboratories. Yes. Today. Call Ravitch, and I were talking about the cubs about how any solutions they have for their pitching problems that basically have to come from within. I think that's where the Yankees will stand in the first two months. It's not like they're gonna rush out and make a bunch of traits to fill in the gaps for some of these injured players and glittered Torres would seem to be at the top of that list. Like, we know how good of a prospect..

And he looks like he'd took a clipboard or. He was watching the catchers man, he looked like a coach I'm telling you as the coach baseball. He's got the he's got the form. He's got all the makings to be a head coach. I'm telling you. What was your biggest takeaway today? What is the feel around this team? Well, I wrote a column on that which I would invite listeners to read. Here comes my shameless plug you can Google my name and Miami Marlins, Miami Herald, whatever you want and find it easily. I accepted the positive. I listed six reasons. Why Marlins fans should be pretty hopeful. Dare say maybe even a little bit excited. It's going to be a tough season this year. They're going to be better next year. I think by twenty twenty one they're going to have a legit team. They have seven starting pitchers right now eight if you include sex, though, Sanchez six though Sanchez they have eight starting pitchers competing for five spots and end their quality starters debatable. If if two or three of those guys become really good as Sanchez could. As Alcan Tara could then they're going to be pretty good on the mound. I I'm not sure about their hitting yet. But I think pitching is is going to carry the theme. Billy who's your ace of the SAF this year, Jose Arena. That's the guy. Yeah. Us name the opening day starter ready. That's the guy who was opening day starter last year who through that first pitch of the season that they across the homerun you were very excited about him entering last season. Did he write the ship a little bit? Because I know we got off to a bit of a rough start. His his numbers weren't indicative of what I thought he'd be. I'd say, but he's the ace. Yeah. Yeah. He's good. He he'll he'll bounce back. You'll turn around big bounceback season. I like what I've seen from him Henderson Alvarez. Didn't they throw a no hitter? That's a good question. I was actually looking that up this weekend. Why you were I was looking it up this weekend because I follow Henderson Alvarez on Instagram. I'm so glad that you asked that question because this is such a weird story. So I follow Henderson Alvarez on Instagram. And I saw that he signed a minor league deal with the nationals, which I thought was you know, that was exciting..

"The Pat Reilly PR spin is in full fourth where. Watching him retire. Chris Bosh number make good their some of the clips now of Dan's, sit down interview with Pat Riley, the art of conversation started hitting the web and people have gotten excited all the Pat Reilly sands of gun excited. I don't wanna go out like this. Did you see him show up at Wayne Wade's dinner in which Dwayne Wade who said he didn't want this whole last dance thing before? Yeah. It was on stage on a throne was. Thrown don't want it with his tour agent at one all eating all of this doing just I mean, come on Dwayne. I don't want the whole pomp and circumstance. I don't want the whole Kobe thing you're at a dinner on a throne. All right. But Pat Riley was at that dinner. It's good and Dwayne Wade's been super glowing in his comments about Pat Riley since so it seems as though. So it seems as though Pat Riley and Dwayne Wade or back on the same page, and that's good to hear. You know, we're having some technical difficulties. So we'll be back after the break. So God's ears. "Because he's terrible the start of every season. All right. So just stop talking. How about that? Stop talking. It's not like he actually helped the Marlin situation before. Oh, yeah. How many winning seasons? Did we have with Giancarlo Stanton? I think it was zero Giancarlo Stanton. Such a winner such a leader get the hell out of here. How about good about little baby stadium in New York and hit eight hundred home runs? All right. Yeah. Baby stadium. That place is a joke. You could I could hit it out to right field opposite field with the way that stadium is constructed. What a joke. He should've broke the home run record last season. Why didn't he because he's a bust overpaid overrated? Homerun rush. Homerun record or bus when he was going for the home run record down here. He no he wasn't going to get to seventy whatever it is seventy two seventy three whatever the number is now. So he came out with that. It was a heavy play. My record is sixty two. I'm okay, how about get to sixty. How about that fifty nine? What a joke you had a week to get three extra home runs. You couldn't do it. They had those things. I'm never going to even know what those things were at season tickets. I was going to all those games. I could resell those tickets and made some money, and I didn't because I wanted to see you do something that you couldn't do break this fictitious home in record that you're going by. It's not even the real record. And the Marlins hung these things from the roof in the outfield that year, and I was trying to figure out what they were. And I'm assuming they were going to do something when you got to sixty and we never figured out what they were gonna ask them. What those things were because there was stuff hanging from the ceiling on the inside of of the stadium, and they were going to do something to celebrate something. And I couldn't even figure out what they were. They were going to do something to celebrate telling you there were like fireworks confetti or something that they were gonna shoot off when he did something memorable. And of course, he didn't do anything memorable classic Stanton. So. You were never this kind of fired up Giancarlo Stanton. At least I don't REM I know that his his slumps would frustrate you a little bit. But I wasn't this fired up driving in today. I don't know what you guys did to me, but he's agitating shots. Unnecessary shots. Seven eight six four five six three seven. If you want to get Giancarlo Stanton. A piece of your money is a little odd that Loria and Samson they had this reputation of irking some players even stained didn't get along. He seems an admitted that there was like one a moment of friction between the two, but jeeter sort of picked up right there with some players just being p owed atom JT. These are young players JT for JT to have some sort of egos. Kind of weird that JT forced his way out of here. Yellow doesn't like staying doesn't like these are two of the three are MVP's. One of them is an all-star Derrick jeeter one of the class. He has players in the game for. Him to already start having these relationships with players and it being contentious helm, I suppose to extend him the benefit of the doubt for later on if he's already agitating everybody. I think it's different when you like he didn't have relationships with these guys he's coming in fresh. So like, we had all these relationships we like roommates or yelich, STAN. And he's just like coming in. This place is a mess. I gotta do my thing. I can just imagine him in those meetings. Being like, look, this is impersonal this business. You know, no BS, you're probably going to get trade. Like, I can just imagine him being honest with these guys. And that's why they're like that's why they're all you heard yell at each other. Like, I want out there reports low key that yelich reached out to the Marlins last season. Midseason and apologize. Really? How that whole thing went down. Oh who reported that? I don't remember good. Look like, they're obviously we understand why they're frustrated, but it's never a good look when you're like I got contract, but I wanna also has to do some PR spin speaking of PR spin..

"Well below league average is one hundred and I know what you're wondering what was his WRC plus in high leverage situations. Great question. High leverage situations is that actually you know, what that was high leverage situation. Okay. This is what it was with runners in scoring position. Now, remember what's league average guys one hundred ROY one hundred Chris Allison? Allison one hundred she said all right with Reuters in scoring position. John Carlos Stanton's was seventy eight. So it's still below league average. Okay. Not as dramatic about just ignore the Marlins. How about this? How about this Stanton focused on the Yankees, you're on an all star team. How about do something in the playoffs? Don't worry about us star name out. You don't worry about the more orlands anymore. Right. I understand if you do it like JT said something like there's going to be it's gonna feel different because they have a great fan base playing in front of big crowds. Like, I understand that you say that in your welcome interview, you kind of ingratiate yourself. So the new fan base. You haven't been here for a year, bro? Stop talking about us. Get over the Marlins already like enough. Not even like it was a Marlins question. Remember, we it was he was just asked. What did you learn in New York could have said so many things that wouldn't have pissed us off? Yeah, he -solutely forced that shot in it. You get what he's saying? What you so mad about what? No, they gave me three hundred twenty five million dollars to play for the what a horrible life. You have. Sorry, Giancarlo Stanton. Things are so rough you. To Miami no-one held you accountable, and you strike out with runners on base in the ninth inning. And you lose the game for us. Oh my God. How terrible. There was no pressure on you down here. Great. When what is this point because may seven that's a shot because late in the season. He's right. If he would've said September August, I would have been like, probably right. I wouldn't even have looked it up. But I'm like may seventh like we've had good maze. We've like it is a little odd to me though. That would bring up the start of the season if I was him either..
