"Crazy. You know races or achievements that happened within the last one, hundred years and. The T. is like one of the last ones. That even one hundred years from now, we'll still blow people's minds. You know in the same way that. It blew our minds reading about it last episode from. To you know I think. I mean in the racers are, of course, aware of the risk and that's kind of what attracts them to it as well. I don't know I'm not obviously I. I said last episode I. I have no interest in in competing in this but. I see WHY PEOPLE DO I? Think it's it's. It's a, it's a piece of the old world that has survived into this new millennium where everything is really safe. You know. Yeah. It's like the tomato fight in Spain our. Souls? Yeah. It's. Among that. Yeah, absolutely. So the T, T as a public road, motorcycle race is the most dangerous race in the most dangerous type of event featuring the most dangerous racing vehicle. But does all of that make the Isle of Man? T T morally wrong after all racers must understand the danger. Dozens of statues, plaques, and tributes to fallen riders line the entire course. Okay. That's unsafe. Put up another thing for throwing some more furniture. They're the ones who choose to put their lives on the line. It's not like there's a a jail sentence that says, YOU'RE GONNA. Go enter this motorcycle race. But other motorcycle races are less dangerous and still managed to deliver thrilling moments for racers and fans on the other hand. The Isle of Man is the most legendary race of the mall without involving the ultimate danger. Could it still be considered the ultimate test. I don't think so. Knowing Europe fricking psychopath. Is Go to the extreme I. I'm so psycho in the way that I sit on my couch most days and Rosen bean burritos and just watch. Your only eating frozen. burritos. 'CAUSE you're saving up for your ticket to fight island. To answer those questions like can they make murder legal and get a better understanding of why the Isle of man t t is so loved and criticized, we need to return to the story of the Dunlop family who more than any other name represent both the highs and the lows of motorcycle racing. Joey Dunlop was born in one, thousand, nine, hundred, forty, two near the small town of Bali money North Ireland. He was the son of a mechanic and the second of seven kids at sixteen. He bought his first motorcycle and became obsessed from. Then on. He took whatever job he could to fund his passion including working as a truck driver, a river and diesel mechanic. Joey couldn't be more different than Mike Hailwood and G Komen Agostini the greatest names of the Isle of man, t t in the sixties both Mike. The bike and audio came from family wealth and didn't have to worry about anything outside of racing, but there was an entirely different kind of racing tradition. Tradition in. Northern. Ireland. which despite its lack of wealth would produce a huge number of great isle of Man. Riders. It's what is lead the country to be referred to as the cradle of motorcycle road racing. One reason for road racing's popularity in Northern Ireland is the same reason. Isle of Man is the greatest race in the sport the Geography Northern Ireland is a sparsely populated land of rolling hills and narrow country roads that sounds amazing and unlike England where short circuits dominate the sport Northern Irish racing evolved around the road race. There are dozens of races every year across both northern. Ireland and Ireland and the menu compete like just dunlop are huge national celebrities. Another more theoretical reason that road racing is so popular in northern. Ireland is national culture. They say that a country is sports mirrors a nation's attitudes. American football reflects the USA's tribalism and love of war Canadian hockey reflects a nation. That is mostly made of ice. Populous Brill has soccer. And in Northern Ireland road, racing reflects the complicated history of a country that has endured centuries of sectarian violence. With that violence has come an endless parade of young men willing to become martyrs for 'cause. Instead of settling for a working class existence, they're drawn to the potential glory of laying their life on the line is the danger of road racing. Really. So different from all of that for Joey. Dunlop. He does loved motorcycles at eight. When he entered his first race, he quickly developed a preference for road racing and would often race with Mervyn Robinson the brother of Joey's future wife. Nice. ooh, along with Frank Kennedy and Joey's younger brother Jim the men would become known. Known as the Army Armata named after a town close to Bali money after finding success in events and around Ireland Joey, raced his first isle of man, T T in nineteen, seventy six, his first entry came at the biggest turning point of the tea, and it's seventy year history as the result of a boycott from a group of racers read by Giacomo. Agostini, as we discussed last episode, the t t race, which had been part of the Grand Prix World Championship. Since the championships beginning in nineteen, forty nine was dropped from the schedule in nineteen, seventy seven. It was replaced by the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. The switch to Silverstone's showed how motorcycle racing was changing where the T T was a thirty seven mile public road course. Silverstone was a three point, seven mile permanent coronavirus, no elevated changes. These huge shifts meant Joey's I. T T in seventy six was also the last grand prix t t purely by coincidence Joey Dunlop name came to symbolize the changing culture of the TT beginning in nineteen, seventy seven. With the race, no longer part of the elite Grand Prix series, it was time for return to the more independent spirit of the Pre World War Two. Instead of the grand. Prix. T T races were now part of what.

"Now outside of the fact that him wanting to ride for Dakota and twenty, twenty, one confirms what Giacomo Agostini was saying a little bit but that is a different discussion, but beyond that the great thing here is that whore hang knows how to stir the pot, and he knows how to keep the door open, and that makes things a heck of a lot more interesting and I think that's simply by making those comments even if he wasn't one hundred percent series which he was by the way. Lorenzo actually just by saying those things shifts some of the advantage in contract negotiations back towards Coty in their quest to resign the now injured on the video, so because unlike a week ago. Where dolby could potentially have been headed to KTM or even a few days ago. Where pretty much everybody is off the board except for Andrea and where else Takada going to go. Now they can take those comments and I'm sure what's going to happen is that Dole vs phone is GonNa Ring in the middle of the night. Once he's put it on. Silent doesn't realize anybody's calling. And then the next morning is GonNa look at his phone and realize he's got fifteen voicemail messages, and what are going to be on those voicemail messages. Lorenzo's comments over and over and over again. Because now to Kathi has no option whether it's a good option or an option as good as doe V. Well, that's somewhat debatable, but at least they have an option on the same general level success wise. As Andrea and that has to swing the needle. Back their way pretty sharply in terms of what they're willing to offer dovy, and what they think he should accept so even though it seems like now. The KTM is out of the way that you know. The Path has been paved. Doe V. One hundred percent has to go back to do coty. That's all they can do. That's all he can do. It's done it's over. No to Kati drama never disappoints so thanks to her. Hey, for never denying the rumors and most often encouraging them, because that's what makes things very very interesting for us to talk about on a weekly basis, and there will be more for us to talk about next week. I'm sure when it comes to that all right. Let's move on from some of the news now to some of your comments We gotTA start off with Beers of food. I feel so bad for you. Because he laid down his beautiful black to Kati nine nine nine, breaking his clavicle in the process. You know most importantly. We hope you're okay. We hope you're going to get better quickly. On the upside if you are looking for an upside. You and Andre the video so now have something in common. Although. Fortunately, you don't have to be racing again in just a couple of weeks. You can take your time and getting better where he's got to be back up on the horse here and what little over two weeks. But man that is a bummer. I mean on top of the injury two beers a food, the injury to his bike as well and then. The picture didn't look good so I. Don't know if it's a total loss, but I'm sure he'll let us know soon, but hey, maybe you can do. The Cafe Racer thing with Alec. We're talking about last week with the motor week bike. Something to think about it. At least I'm trying to look on the bright side here for you because I know it's not the best time, but really above all. I hope that you're doing well and hope you get better. Really really man. It sucks to see that happen. Speaking of Cafe Racers, fate of course was the one who introduced me to that awesome awesome Katayev, t four cafe bike, and he successfully found the new coty now that he thinks is uglier than the motor week bike. Because his friend bought one of those first generation multi stratas and yeah, I will admit. Are Pretty Bad. Although I will say that all of the comments I've read about those people who own them. They seem to love the bike itself. In fact, they remind me a lot of the original. The first generation Kawasaki Versus Nach Gray looking by by any means but everybody who rides one really digs. But Takata is pretty bad. especially with the as I said in right on right it with the winter, the windshield goes with the handlebars, but the rest of the front fairing dozen, and that just makes it look all the more awkward, although like shoe flew fourteen, said it. Kind of is a case where it's so odd looking that it kind of comes back around to being endearing again so i. don't know I could see how people would really like it, but it's not the best. BG Five Forty One. Check them for the first time on Reddit. Thank you for listening. Thank you for joining them right it I hope you'll have fun there and I hope a subscribed join in the conversation and tell us what you want to talk about or what you think about particular topics. Michael Klein over on facebook. This was an interesting question. He wondered why I was thinking all along that Danilo Petrucci was gonna go to the factory KTM squad as opposed to three am really over the past couple of weeks who I've thrown out a ton of scenarios and I mean we had scenarios where Petrucci wasn't on the factory squad, but not a single one where I had him going to tech three, and so you're right about that and I think James got to that when I that pretty much. Everyone was saying that he was GONNA be on that factory bike all the way up until the announcement was made in heck, we were talking about earlier. Even Jeremy upon himself thought that pitchy was going to be on the factory bike. But there's more to it than that is a very interesting question and covered it a bit earlier when we were discussing the news, but I did legitimately figure. That's the way that they will go putting Pacheco on the factory squad. Mostly because he was coming from a prominent factory team, he had more experience any of the other riders excluding poll of course and he's. He's got the win. And all of those things are important I think for him to take advantage of now. Obviously, they didn't agree with me on that, but I think there were a lot of her. There would have been a lot of good reasons to put him on the factory squad and still do now the flip side of that like we talked about earlier. You know for all the things that Danilo could have brought to the table and you. We're kind of excluding the loyalty conversation that we had earlier, which obviously is a major factor here, but if you're just looking at Danilo and trying to figure out where he's going to go before this decision was made. It is true that he does not bring the marketing potential of the majority of top level riders, and it was clear all along that do. Coty was never thinking of him as a first tier factory rider, and that's why I think that Michael and the people that he were talking to kind of figured, the factory ride was going to be out of the question for him from. From the GECKO and generally I agree with the marketing point of course KTM is a very unique position in that respect again like we talked about earlier where they didn't need the writer with pop if they didn't want that market marketable rider, because they have all that rebel money, and they can do what they wanted with it. and I guess you could say that it. It may have been in that situation a little bit as well having L. Spargo already Leib, Ryder but not nearly as much as ktm in that situation, so, but that's why I thought I I mean that's why I think. Everybody Thought that Patricia will go to the factory squad because of his experience because he's coming from at prestigious factory bike and because he got A. A win on that prestigious factory bike moving on Peter. He wondered if Repsol Honda would ever run three bikes again, because obviously they've got more riders right now than they have slots to fill now Michael responded to that one already noting how Honda would have to get permission from Dorna to replicate that Danny, dovy stone or trio that they ran out back in two thousand eleven. Could they get that done if they really wanted to?.

"You've got another very fiery passionate rider, and you've got a bike that you know isn't really quite there yet. Even with this new frame. We don't know if it's quite there yet. It could be a recipe for a lot of fireworks of course I would find fun and amusing, because we could talk about in each week. I'm art, so those are the major veteran riders that would be considered for the lead KTM bike, but there's also Miguel Aveiro. Because remember one scenario has him moving up to the factory team, and all the others have him staying. Put and I'm sure that doesn't make him very happy that there's only a small chance. He could get moved up especially seeing as how Brad. Bender leapfrogged him to the factory squad, but I'll say this about Miguel. If KTM and again just like talk. You guys know Miguel Fan. He's smart. He's talented. I think that he's got a very bright future ahead of him and motor. GP. However. I would not be upset if I if I were in KTM's position. I also would be looking at those veteran riders before I thought about moving beguel up. because. Olivera just needs to be patient. He's still got a little bit more learning. He had a good season last year, but he still has to learn tech three. And all all of those options above. Patricia Cheesy Dovy in cal. All of them will be thirty and above in twenty twenty one, so no matter what Katie does even if they sign one of those three riders to a two year contract. You can't view them as long term. They are not long-term options. Bender Brad Bender is a long-term option. So if they bought Martina up and gave him the factory bike. Our begala be a little miffed. Because now you've got to future writers. You've got to long-term writers, but one of these veterans. They're not looking at them as being the writer of five or six years from now. That's where Miguel comes in. He just needs to keep his head down. Focused on improving, and there will be an opportunity for him down. The road wants whoever they pick in this situation. Ends up doing what they're going to do for the bike, maybe getting some success, and then handing him a much better bike on the back end of that deal, and that might actually be one of KTM's considerations going with a guy like Patricia. Because Dole, the could continue to be successful and he could become the next Rossi from h standpoint. I want to just keep going and going and going. and honestly if he does end up in that situation, who wants to Outright Fire Andrea? Who wants to get rid of a writer of that caliber right? Nobody does so. Patricia gives them a lot more leeway in eventually making room for all baronies, probably the most likely of that group of veteran riders to want to work with guys like Olivera or bender, or the younger guys to help them improve as quickly as possible so I could see why. There's a lot of positives going into this whole. Petrucci thing, but boy came came out of left field. I mean I wasn't expecting it. I figured that apparently it was done deal and it was all going. Going to come down to or you'RE GONNA. Get dolby, or you're not gonNA. Get dovy, but the big thing for me, even though we've got all of these kind of riders floating out, there is day unlike their coty brethren who are also looking for a brighter they have options because to. Doohan have expressed reservations about Alex Marquez essentially getting sacked at Repsol Honda, because everybody's talking about this like it's a done deal. But Agassi me this week. Echo what and said last week that it would be a shame if Alex Marquez got booted from his Repsol Honda right before he even had a chance to race the bike a single time, and I'm not going to rehash our whole conversation from last week, but we all tend to and I'm sure they're doing this to. We all tend to view that situation from the perspective that. Alex is being told this is what's going to happen. And he has no say in the matter or he's not involved in that decision. Making process at all and I tend to think that Hosmer sixty-nine seventy five may have been onto something last week when he said that. Hey, maybe Alex, maybe the entire Marquez clan have input on this plane. Maybe they're part of this plan actively, and it might be Alex's decision as much as anybody else's for him to take a step back and get some experience rather than being thrown straight into the fire on this Repsol bike which he was only done, and we all know this because. Because they were in a situation where they desperately needed somebody to be on the bike so as much as I respect and doing, and if if he dig it fired I agree with one hundred percent I mean I've said that before myself, but I think we need to let that entire situation play out, and then what's everybody's free to talk them I guess is probably going to hear a little bit more from either Honda, even though they're not much for talking, but more likely from Alex on what exactly his thought process was in the situation, and how active participant he was in the entire decision-making process and my guess is. He's GonNa. Have had more input than we all know at this point. What's going to happen right now back over to him now? Obviously, there's a lot going on. "So I had a bunch of work to do this week to prepare to be able to have a day off and that delayed the show. Why is it? That holiday's always end up meaning extra work before and afterwards it doesn't end up being a holiday in that case a but what it does mean. Is I get an extra day to do what I really want this weekend. Which is talked with you guys about Mo- GP and we've got a lot of news to cover from the past week or so in fact there's so much so that I think what we're GonNa do is split things up again this week like we did last week. We're going to start in this episode by going over all of the latest news stories. Then we'll do a separate show with the comments because you guys had some awesome stuff on Reddit this week. Some great pictures great stories along with some video From chip at the track owners are fifty one. Which was pretty epic. So we'll talk about that on the next episode on this one will cover the news assorted this week by drama level he s because there was definitely some good old fashioned drama in the news over the past week week and a half or so and it was spread evenly across all of the manufacturers to. It wasn't just to cloudy drama so we'll get to it here in a second before we get to the full rundown. I do invite you over to the website if you have not checked it out yet at Moto Week Dot net. All of the latest episodes are there. You can follow along on twitter and Instagram at motor week and most importantly like the show and leave your comments on facebook at facebook dot com slash photo dot net and read it our slash Moto Week. Subscribe to the form and then dive into the conversation. As you'll see when you get there people are talking about all kinds of stuff. When it comes to motorcycle racing we would love to. Have you join in the conversation so go check it out at our slash mode week all right so here we go. This is the rundown just about everything we're going to talk about on this episode of the program and like we have the past couple of weeks we're going to start with the latest motor. Gp Schedule News. Unfortunately there isn't anything concrete offer up about harass at this point. Hopefully that's coming soon but we do have some other tracks talk about including the prospects of having Asian rounds this year because Carmelo escalated was talking about that just a couple of days ago and I think that those comments probably apply to all of the flyways including Texas and Argentina. So we'll chat about that and then we will dive right into the motor. Gp News and like. I said we're GONNA sort it this week by drama level and we're definitely starting at the top and working our way down whore Halo Giacomo Agostini part to a Roslyn trying to flex on Valentine Rossi over a patroness. Ktm May or may not be after Andrea Cosell and Jonathan Ray. At one point could have been could have been a Repsol Honda Rider then after that will move down to the intermediate. The middleweight class of drama with Jack Miller potentially being factory rider soon and could do coty have a fight on their hands if they want. Or Hey Martine for twenty twenty one and Beyon- and is there a conspiracy in the works? That band wildcard entries for twenty twenty. Get out your tinfoil hats. Because we're gonNA talk about it. Then we'll finish up the show with the low drama stories. The lightweight class of drama as it were some engine rule changes for concession teams heading in the twenty twenty and then something of wanted to talk about for a while but we haven't gotten the chance to yet. The prospects for Suzuki satellite team. Either in two thousand twenty one or twenty twenty two because wd Brivio was talking about that couple of days back. So that's how will finish up this episode of the Shell Art? So let's get down to it by starting with the latest on the motor. Gp schedule for twenty twenty. And like I mentioned a moment ago unfortunately we still have no update on a possible start to the season in harass but here in the US. We hadn't ask our last weekend and we're having it again this weekend and knowing that those guys got back racing again with no major incidents and also knowing that motor GP is going to have a much more solid plan in terms of having actual testing in place as well as you know time on their side to learn from everything going on around them the other sports that are starting up. I'm more optimistic than ever. That the harass rounds will be approved by the Spanish government but of course we are still waiting on official word from all parties involved. But keep your fingers crossed. I think we're going to get some news soon and I think it's going to be good news For starting the season sometime in July. Meanwhile French GP organizers are the latest. Toss their hat into the potential round. Ring They said that they're working with Dorna. And the French government to try to reschedule Lama for one of the first two weeks of October now. Technically Thailand is already penciled him for the first week about Tober with Taghi and Australia scheduled for the third and fourth weeks. Now we're going to talk about the Asia rounds here in a second but we all know that the situation is completely fluid with these races especially concerning the flyway rounds and the specific back that you know the French DP was saying. We're looking at early October. That's what we're targeting pretty much confirms that Dorna really is pretty focused on Europe just for now and they're only going to venture out further when the situation improves now. Of course we're not talking about fans here at all. We're just talking about racing in France on just like the harassed thing. Lama is aiming pretty far out even in relation to the proposed first round. And that's a good thing in terms of planning and organizing but it also means that we're probably not gonNA hear anything concrete for a bit. In fact they were talking about not having real decision until June about that round. Hopefully we hear something about who says much much earlier than that now. As long as the French government is going to allow the event. I think that chances are very good. That we're GONNA see a race there but let's talk about those. Asian rounds that are right now scheduled for October because the situation is quite a bit different for them and we discussed last week on the program. How resume Rizzoli made some comments about how? Sapang was very hopeful to have their round as scheduled this year but Carmella Belated Conham told everybody the slow their role in that respect. He didn't interview with Fox Sports Asia and he said that the current plan isn't to do any racing at all overseas until much later in the year and they don't even expect to make an announcement on any flyways until September no announcements until September. Lead loam racing but then. He went on to say that. He doesn't envision any of the Asian rounds until spectators are allowed back at the track again and while. That is a bummer. I do totally get it. Because the cost involved in taking the entire series overseas is really big and without being able to ask for the healthy race fees that are provided by the promoters under normal circumstances. At these rounds. There isn't a whole lot of benefit to laying out all that money just to move the series from place to place around the world now escalated did not specifically mention circuit of the Americas. He didn't mentioned Argentina and those comments. But I'm certain there included in that statement. You know when Dorna is already going to have to cover all of the costs. You know of modified race weekends already. You'll you add in the freight expenses for all three series in world superbike for that matter to travel around. That would likely eat up the majority of the TV money that normally they wouldn't have to dip into because they're getting money from the individual tracks to host these races so I would expect to only see European rounds until restrictions on large gatherings or east so in other words I would expect to only see European rounds for any races. Run in two thousand twenty. But you know like we talked about before in general. I'm okay with that because obviously each track does have its own personality. It does have. Its own separate challenge. And we love seeing the variety in those tracks. But let's face it part of the uniqueness when we all watch on. Tv is the atmosphere. You know the fans in the stands and if you're taking that element out anyway then at least for me. It becomes far less important where the races are physically run. You know if they happen to be in Texas at the time or in Argentina or in Japan or in Thailand or in Australia. It doesn't really matter as much I mean they're just gonNa run them on a handful of tracks as far as I'm concerned that's about the same thing as long as there's some variety you know if it's all at the same track well then it's going to be get very boring but if you don't have the fans in the atmosphere created by those fans anyway then it becomes less important not non important but less important where they're actually running those races so we didn't really get any verification any official indication that we are going to go racing or when but at least we know that it's probably just going to be your up and it's probably going to start mid July and then we're going to have to wait for more details after that if things go really really well and you know you can have limited fans at places. Well then maybe they will think about. You know traveling but until then. I think we're probably going to see European rounds. Carmelo's made it very clear there. That is their focus for the rest of this year. And it'll only change if the situation changes drastically for the better and keep your fingers crossed but right now I'm thinking we're probably looking exclusively at European rounds this year but that's better to know racing at all. Don't get me wrong better. No racing at all definitely all right. So let's dive into some real motor. Gp News now. And like I said at the beginning of this show. We're sorting by drama. And I don't want to go back to far with this whole Jorges. Lorenzo Giacomo Agostini thing. But it's still lead to finish the story from the last episode the show and then we'll move on to some more current stuff because Lorenzo versus Giacomo. House wasn't done. I was hoping it was going to be done after the last show but it wasn't quite finished yet because we're hey. Lorenzo went on an unnecessarily lengthy instagram rant. Not Going to bore you with all of the tawdry details because the entire thing can be summed up as a pretty much saying when instagram. Okay boomer whether that's a nice thing to do or not. Well that's up to you to decide but the interesting part about this or hey took particular exception to Aggo. Nicking him on his record at Takada in saying he was failure at Duke Audio now. I'm assuming that. Lorenzo left Honda out of the discussion. Because well there's not really a person around that would back or hey up if he suggested he didn't completely suck at Honda but as fond is his memories of the Italian bike may be his record would be nearly impossible to defend if he had not one those three races in his final season that combined with the late year injury Kinda gave Lorenzo get out of jail. Free Pass when it comes to any real argument about how he performed on that Takata because he can always point to that and say look look at what I was doing up until the point.

Gp News here because MotoGP Legend Giacomo Agostini takes a little bit of a shot at Lorenzo. And then he gives it right back to him so we'll discuss the situation and who may want to back off a little bit in this case a loss. I have a quick update on the Andrea a appeal. Then we'll jump into motogp. Gp scheduled news. Now there is nothing new to announce when it comes to harass says. Hopefully we'll hear something later on this week but there are a couple of rumors out there. In fact Rozan Raleigh was talking about Sapang having their race later on this year and the possibility that they could have it with fans so we will discuss just how realistic that idea might be plus. We'll look at what a race state could look like in harass in July once. Things are approved and then finally debut of Suzuki answered a couple of questions that we were discussing on the show about. Maybe what the manufacturers think of track selection for an abbreviated Mo- GPC's founded interesting. So we'll chat about that as well and then there is a virtual emoji. Gp Race this weekend. Don't worry we're not gonNA talk a whole lot about it. Then we'll get to your comments We got a lot of interesting stuff to talk about that. You were discussing on facebook this week. whether there should be penalties for teams and riders breaking cove regulations once. They're in place and once we can go racing How RIDER STAY IN SHAPE? Some silly season rumors about Andrea defeats the Oso Plus we'll talk about video the motor week bike and some other odds and ends as well. Then we'll wrap up with a lot of really awesome pictures in one very very scary video and I got a story that goes along with that too so stick around to the end of the show art. So let's get into it starting with the Moto Week Moto GP Nineteen Challenge and yes indeed this week. We ARE OFF TO THAILAND. So start practicing and once you get a good lap make sure you posted up on red at sorry. I wasn't on top of it. The sudden change in my work schedule that delayed the show week. I was also pretty slow getting around the Thailand. Put that up and start to put together the numbers for guitar. So thanks to chip are fifty-one for starting the threat over on it pinned up at the top. So let's get moving on it. How `Bout we shift now because before it. Was You know turning your times by Tuesday? Obviously that's passed us. Let's make it to the end of the week so by Sunday. Make sure you submitted your best times. Then we'll move on Monday to one of the coolest tracks in real life. But my video Game Arch Nemesis Circuit of the Americas. I can never put in a good lap time there. It's the S.'s. And then that really tight hairpin before the backstretch both of those completely get me all the time so I'm not making any promises about being able to get on that one and this week I will tell you the times for guitar by the way and put them all up in the thread there and then we'll bounce that one down will leave the Thailand threat up at the top chip if you're listening See if they'd let you change the title on that so it says round two and then Dash Thailand's everybody knows what track the race this week but get on and get practice in post your best times all right. So let's move on to this whole wholesaler. Enzo Giacomo Agostini thing. I don't know if you saw this or not but I go pretty much called out or hey for bailing on Honda because he couldn't figure out the bike as opposed to him being fearful of more injuries in his career. And if you remember back to win or Hey announced his retirement he said listen. I'm just hurt myself too much recently and what. I'm really nervous about. Because he had that back injury to he said what I'm really nervous about is that I injured myself to the point where I can't recover from it so I'm just GONNA go ahead and call it a day step away now. And then that's what he did. But then of course he became a Yamaha test rider and then there was the wildcard announcement and then there were the rumors that maybe he was interested in coming back fulltime for Petronas in two thousand twenty one. And so that's what led to. I guess Teeny Sang. What he said he said. Hey it looks to me like he just couldn't handle the Honda and so we bailed on it and it doesn't really have much at all to do with him being afraid of going out there and getting injured and then Lorenzo shot right back in an interview of his own saying quote. What is he no? He hasn't ridden the bike in fifty years and of quote. Now I like to. I typically don't like to take sides and stuff like this because I feel like my job is to present let you guys tell me what you think but I think that I go may know a little something even if he hasn't competed in fifty years and sure the bikes were nearly as fast back in his day but when he was riding he was also protected by like a beanie and goggles on city streets. So in my opinion when you go out there and win the Isle of Man Ten Times back in the sixties and seventies it. Kinda earned the right to call a guy out. I don't think anybody's going to question. You know what you're saying number one and number two if you're tough enough to make those kinds of comments especially when I mean really isn't wrong and he said as much Giacomo was asked about it again and he said Hey. Let's just call it as it when Lorenzo was on top of the world. I said this is fantastic. And you know any bales on the Honda say this is why he bailed on the Honda Myth. The truth hurts all. I can't do anything about that. But think about it for a second because Lorenzo was already inked in for wildcard starts when the season was expected to be normal. We don't know what's going to happen now. But initially he was one hundred percent going to do at least one probably more wildcard rides on the Amaha and there were all of those rumors swirling around that he did want to come back full-time patrol it's to the point where Valentine Rossi. Just a couple of weeks ago was saying. Hey listen I think he could do it? I don't know if he has the motivation to do it. But I think he's capable of doing it. So that's how legitimate those rumors were that even the doctor was talking about them and saying listen. I know for certain but he he could do it. You know it's definitely within the realm of possibility and that being the case it certainly does look like what he said was his reasoning for retirement. The risk of injury. Maybe isn't really truly the case you know I would have owned it. I would have said Yeah. There was awful. It was built for mark and mark only and that's why nobody else has been able to win on it. Nobody will be able to win on it. And you watch Alex Marquez. Won't win on it either. That that's not my opinion. I'm just saying that's what Lorenzo should have said because at least that would have just looked like. Hey but by arguing with and then taking a shot at Agostini. What happens when he does do that? Wildcard ride or if he decides to raise full-time for Yamaha. Either in twenty twenty one or twenty twenty two. Well now he's painted himself into a corner where he says that. Aggo is full of it with his opinion but then if he gets back on a bike and goes racing. How can you justify that? How can you then say oh well you know I was really scared of getting injured but then something magical happened in. I'm not scared anymore. No it's GonNa look like everything that you know. Giacomo said was right and that he was bailing on the Honda because he couldn't figure out how to race it so like I said if I him I would have just own the whole thing been like. Yeah I sucked on the Honda because the Hondas not good for anybody but Marc Marquez. And honestly if he had said that how many of us would have really disagreed with him on that. Hell even cal crutch. Low would agree with him on CAL's one races on the Honda so he should've just taken the bull by the horns turned background on Honda and not started the online feud with Agostini. But that's what happens when everybody's sitting at home and they have nothing better to do and it just goes to show that you can take the Cadi away from Lorenzo but you can't take the drama away from him ever so we'll have to see how that will continue to develop if it continues to develop because after all they're still at home both of them with nothing better to do Speaking of craziness in drama The Andrea you know appeal a case that will be presented on Friday now. I know that I said that. They had until Friday to file the appeal on the last show but that was only because of the terminology that Andreas lawyers used. What his lawyer meant is that they were always going to have an appeal. They made the request for the appeal previously. But it's just now it's going to be officially quote unquote filed on Friday. So he said Bob when he met was they're going to be presenting their case on Friday. I'm assuming they're going to do that. Remotely like maybe over zoom or something. But almost certainly it'll be presented with shaggy's it wasn't me you know accidentally playing in the background so. I guess we'll have to wait until at least Friday to hear something. I'm pretty certain that if we don't here on Friday that at least over the weekend we'll get some comments from the appropriate camp from the Andre in on a camp but we may not hear right away officially from the F. Im what's going to happen. Maybe oh I mean they have up to twenty days to consider the evidence and make a ruling so it could be right away or could be as many as a couple of weeks before we get an official ruling. But I'm sure there's GonNa be tons of spam from both apprecia- and Andrea as people aren't so let's move on now to motor. Gp Schedule News. No new update. It's like you said at the beginning of the show about a potential start to the season at Horr- as as of yet but I do expect that we'll be hearing something soon if not the end of this week then maybe early on next week. But I'm sure it's going to be sooner rather than later that we get some sort of thumbs up From the Spanish government and know that things are going to start to move forward but in the meantime Ressam Rizzoli who runs the Petronas Yamaha team and up until very recently was also in charge of Sapang International Circuit. He said that he's very optimistic. That the Malaysian GP will be able to happen. Mostly because there's a decent amount of time between now and when the race was originally scheduled that's on November first. But here's the interesting part. He said that he thinks it's going to be a minimum of six months. After local lockdowns are lifted before a large event like a motor. Gp Race will be able to be run with fans but then he went on to say that he's hopeful that the.

"And I think that that would be probably a good compromise because it leaves the door open especially with twenty twenty is going to be compacted season anyway. So he's not going to be missing out on as much. I mean everybody is sitting right now. So He's not losing out to the other riders in terms of you know track time things like that so I think that the best solution for him the most that they can really hope for is that you know at the end of the year maybe December thirty first. His suspension is lifted. He's allowed to start working with a team again. Of course you know that's assuming that really really wants to move forward and sign him for two thousand twenty one they get them cheap. That's for damn sure because you're not going to be a whole lot of interest there you know it certainly is an unprecedented motor. Gp story in in the middle of an unprecedented time for MotoGP. In general. I personally am not surprised that he was officially suspended. For those reasons. I just mentioned you know. And I think that the appeal will change little in the end Like I said maybe the suspension shortened. You know as far as Andreas career if he can come back in twenty twenty one. I think there's a very slim chance that appropriate because it can get him cheap will continue on if he's gotta sit out until the middle of two thousand twenty one. I think the best that he could ever hope for after that Emoji p a satellite ride and I don't think that's totally out of the question if he brings sponsorship to the table with him which I believe he could of course provided that there are still teams going into twenty twenty two that are looking for riders that are bringing sponsorship money. What I mean by that. Is You know right now? Those couple of teams that were open to those ideas were. They may be attached officially in a satellite capacity to approach Suzuki at that point. And there might not be those extra rides out there. Where if you bring some cash you'll get on the bike you know. I think that his future really is going to lie in world superbike and in all honesty that may have ended up being his destination after the season anyway even without any of the doping scandal controversy or the suspension that and is now going along with that he may have ended up in world superbike anyway after the twenty twenty season. Um and don't take this to mean that I'm getting down on Andrea. I mean if you guys are longtime listeners. You know how excited that was. When he got the Suzuki I thought that was going to be the perfect match. I thought this was going to be the platform with which he was going to spring up to the next level and then at that point you know the personality issues that kind of started the show themselves so it was certainly an opportunity to kind of salvage things and move back up the ladder and obviously it didn't go that way so. I'm not getting down on Andrei. It's just the reality of the situation. It doesn't matter who would be in that situation if their urine samples are gonNA come back positive. Both of them. I mean you're looking at essentially a one hundred percents certainty that you're going to get a penalty you're gonNA get suspended for some point or another. I'll be curious to know what you think. Do you think the suspension was appropriate. Do you think it's going to get overturned or shortened? And what do you think that Andre is next? Destination might be if there is a suspension. That is upheld. So you know where to go. Facebook right at leave your comments there all right so now that we've talked about the craziness that is Andrea. Let's get back to more comments and I want to start with Marquez and the idea that racing for multiple manufacturers being successful for multiple manufacturers really as the gateway to solidifying your legacy in premier class motorcycle racing and Brought this up a couple of shows back in the conversations kind of gone on since then. James pointed out that hey mark only needs one more championship to match. Valentina Rossi's nine got five years to do it so he's looking pretty good in that respect. And Yeah you're absolutely right. I mean will. I would imagine there's almost no chance he won't tie and then surpass Valentino Rossi emotive GP World Championships and overall world championships. Because like you said he'd only need one in the next five to match Rossi in both categories. He would need to out of the next five a little bit harder to match Giacomo. Agostini in Premier Class Crowns at AIDS. And then he would need three out of the next five to get that nine Mo- GP titles to pass Aggo in overall premier class victories. That's a lot harder and that's what we're talking about a couple of shows back when I said. Hey He's got to win three out of five. This is not cemented in stone that he's going to be able to catch and pass Giacomo Agostini in overall premier class Titles now of course if he wants to match Giacomo in overall titles well. He's got quite a bit of work to do because he's still currently needs nine more. That's how insane steamy was that if Marquez wants to match ago in career titles he still has to win nine more times with successful as Marquez. Been already he's still that far away from Giacomo. Agostini mean obviously. I go had the advantage of winning multiple titles in one year because you could raise him multiple series. You can't do that now but still it doesn't take away from the impressiveness of it all because we've clearly seen riders that have been really good at one of those levels of racing but not to or even all three and ago. He's good on anything he got on. I think the Valentino Rossi. If he had been given that same opportunity would have also been good on anything he got on and we all know that Marquez put on any series bike. He's going to be in contention for wins indefinitely in the mix for a championship anywhere anytime Peter brought up something else that I hadn't really talked about when we were discussing. Mark and some of the other riders. Who would be competing against legacy? Wise is that. Hey not only. Did those other guys that you mentioned win for two. Different manufacturers the Valentino and Giacomo also one on both two stroke amfar stroke bikes and Peter. We didn't talk about that in that. You're right that is a thing and it's not a small thing either. Not only are we talking about vast differences in ride ability and technique between them two stroke in a four-stroke GP bike but at least as far as Rossi is concerned bridging that gap not just between two stroke and four stroke bikes but between no electronics and all kinds of electronics. That's an immense amount of adaptability for a rider and I don't know for sure but I think it's pretty safe to say that it would be a lot harder for a writer today to jump on a two-stroke bike with that insanely weird power band and no rider AIDS and be competitively fast right out of the box. Then it would be the other way around and who knows. Maybe I'm waxing eloquent about days. Gone by or something like that but I think it would be a lot harder for any of the current crop of riders who have come up entirely in a system of four-stroke motors and quite a few series running electronics to jump on two stroke bike and go toe to toe with the best in the business and be able to come out on top. And that's something that mark or any future writer for that matter won't ever be able to experience and so they won't ever be able to match that now does that make someone like Rossi or Agostini better than Marc Marquez. No not necessarily because obviously it is an argument that Bali supporters can then. We'll make but just like someone like Valentine a Rossi face unique challenges going from one era to another. I mean it's not that Mark. Hasn't faced challenges himself. You have to admit that the competition level now is higher than it's ever been. The riders are more prepared than ever when they get on the bike. The technology is better than it's ever been because of that. The bikes are closer. Just right out of the box than they've ever been but mark is still dominating the same way that the best of those five hundred C. C stars dominated and that's a great counter argument to say. Yeah he dominant Ma Valentine Rossier Aggo. They dominated back in the day were mic doing for that matter. Even though he didn't do it for more than one manufacturer they dominated at a time when some riders idea of working out. Was you know having a six pack of beer after the race and when you didn't have massive amounts of funding for everyone and so the difference between the haves and have nots. Where a lot greater we're now you have to beat an entire field of incredibly well equipped riders and incredibly well equipped and well funded bikes. And so that is a good counter argument to make sure. The debate is going to rage long into the future. Especially the more races in the more championships. Mark Wins provided he does win Heck provided. We actually go racing again sometime soon. Don't worry we will. We definitely in fact. Let's talk about that now. let's talk about getting back to racing or when we might get back to racing rather a Jaycees me asked how many races need to be run to constitute a complete season there is actually a number and technically that number is thirteen. According to I m rules thirteen rounds need to be run for a championship trophy to be handed out now. Obviously that could be changed if everyone is in agreement and while it seems like that would be kind of an easy consensus to come to given the circumstances if a championship trophy is GonNa be given out to somebody. I don't all the sudden you'll inevitably get some manufacturers. Start to get very picky. And very uncooperative. On just how many races need to be included to award that trophy? 'em Wear those races are run more importantly because every manufacturer is going to go to the tracks that favor their riders and don't favor the other riders as we've seen in the past when teams have to sit down and come up to agreements with things. It doesn't matter how much come rotary there is at this point because we all want to go back racing if they're presented with a sheet of seven or ten races and they say these are going to be the championship. Will you agree to this? There's going to be some debate. Might be semi friendly debate. But there's GonNa be some sort of debate. A more posted a link to an interview with pit buyer of KTM talking about the possibility of a ten race European only motor GPC's now this is nothing official. It's what he was speculating. Very well might happen and get where buyers coming from here. Because from his point of view you know the uncertain length of travel restrictions along with the different stages at different countries are in battling the effects of cove in nineteen right now makes planning things super hard in general but especially planning things outside of Europe because those countries are going to. You don't know where they're going to be at in the entire process what their travel restrictions are going to beep and assuming that Europe is going to kind of come out of this entire disaster all at about the same time and because of all those countries close proximity to one another. It would stand to reason that it would be opened count at the same time and that the series being held only in Europe would make sense. Logistically mean everything's a short distance. It's driveable and from a financial perspective which we'll talk more about on the next episode. It makes a lot more sense to keep the series local in Europe. If we're at a point where fans still candidate races. Because I mean when you think about trucking everything around multiple race tracks in Europe rather than flying the series all the way to Asia are all the way to the to the Americas to race in front of no one. I mean if you're just running around to have them on TV seeking get them in and so we can watch them. They can pretty much be done anywhere. So why not places that make the most sense? I mean I WANNA see in America's GP for example. But if I can't go to it and then Dorna says well you know we don't want to spend all the money to go to Texas but we can go down or the Mugello or we can go to Valencia. Run race there instead and you'll get to see it on. Tv The difference between not having race at all because we can't have it in Texas or having race that I can watch on TV. I'll take the race on TV. So why not go to the places that make the most sense now that being said I don't think it's time to give up on being able to run more than the required thirteen races quite yet? I think that buyers outlook that Tamraz's European only I think that's a pretty conservative view of how things might be able to play out..

"A go and see how big we can make both of those leagues and remember. I will do a trophy in. We haven't really thought about this because we're GonNa have the trophies Adrian's going to make the trophies Let's see which league gets more users in it and that league will compete for the Trophy. The other legal. Find something to give away so we apprised for both leagues but the coveted Adrian Handmade trophies will go to whichever league we can get more people entered in. Let's do it that way. If you guys got better ideas than just just tell me on the on the right side or on facebook. I'm alright so now motor. Gp News will start with the latest on the schedule right now which is really me. It's all up in the air. Who knows on one hand there is? There is still time to get everything in short of the race that we already missed to Qatar. That was canceled. Outright the other rounds have already been rescheduled. So we know we've got room in the rest of two thousand twenty to get all of the other rounds except for guitar in and we've got more than five weeks left until harass comes up the first week in. May so you would think you would think that there would be at least enough for things to calm down a little bit for some of the travel restrictions to be loosened to the point where the teams and the competitor would be allowed to go run a race at least in front of television cameras. Even fans aren't leading yet but on the other hand we've got the announcement now that the twenty four hours of Lama has been rescheduled from June to September and then with the even bigger announcement just yesterday that the Olympics are going to be postponed by as much as a year. That's not a good sign because both of those events were scheduled to happen in June. And if they're not happening in June it makes me really really nervous about motor. Gp races in May now. It doesn't one hundred percent mean those two cancellations doesn't one hundred percent mean that other motor sport events through June will be affected because you know the Olympics involves a lot more people from a lot more places than a little old motor g. p. race but it certainly means that everyone and I'm sure doorknobs and the SIM are included. Art least thinking that far outright now about possible postponements and possible plans so it's not cast in stone that we're going to go back racing in. May I mean the good news is that not only motor? Gp But right now Formula. One in asker are all still targeting. Made go back on. Track again Heck world superbike was working under the assumption that they're gonNA run an ass in a month from now but I think they've already postponed that one. You know I certainly hope that. All of those series are spot on with their optimism for the first week of May. But you know. I'll be shocked if her as isn't forced to be postponed as well but if motor GP actually is able to go racing at horizon may then there is a pretty decent chance that they'll be doing so without fans in the stands? I would put the chances of about fifty fifty that the run harass the schedule weekend and then beyond that about fifty fifty that there would actually be a crowd there to witness the race and already told you on last week. Show how I felt about racing without fans. I'm Kinda torn on that. It's just not the same and I wouldn't be thrilled with the situation but going racing is always going to be better than not going racing and that brings us to our next story because apparently do. Khadi boss She. She'd Alenia agrees with me on that position. I think he listens to the show actually She she called it. The quote Lesser Evil. And I think that's a very appropriate description. I mean not only because of the lack of atmosphere and I'm getting back into my own opinions now so saturdays usually for interrupting But also for the vendors and the track workers and the operators that need fans there to make a living plus by May. We're all GonNa need something to look forward to something to go to and have fun but getting back to g though The good thing is that. He said he's confident that they will get in the minimum number of races which is thirteen needed during the championship this year. And in the meantime not only did he say. He was working on chores that he's put off for years but he also said at the time of the interview that he was working on plans for the aerodynamics on the GP twenty it is still she she after all Many figures at Honda at the time was analyzing the performance improvement said APPRECIA- was probably working on reliability. While everybody was forced to stay away from the track. Of course in the meantime everybody's been told that there are no longer allowed to do any development on their bikes for better for worse. I don't even know why that makes such a big difference. Let them do something right. Doesn't really hurt anybody. Guess all there is for g g to do now is just sit at home in isolation and watch Netflix or as I like to call it a typical Tuesday night. Meanwhile Valentino Rossi is hanging out at his home and his motorcycle ranch roughing it. I'm sure but he's also helping out sick people in need which makes cents and being the doctor and all this actually really cool story. Valet is working with. Vr Forty six raise money to buy new respirators for the March ignored hospital and PETCO back. Ni- has joined in raising money on his own although I'm sure it's with the help of Vr forty-six as well for a hospital local to him in Turin and then the foundation is now joining the cause as well and you know. Respirators are one of the most needed pieces of equipment at hospitals in areas with lots of corona virus cases and of course Italy northern Italy Typifies that and hospitals are concerned that they're simply going to run out of equipment. So it's a major concern where I am here in southern California and we aren't anywhere near the point that things are in northern Italy. So that's really great work that they're doing speaking of northern Italy. Just read an article. I think it was yesterday about Giacomo Agostini. Of course he's right in the heart of the worst of the cases and I man I hope they keep him in a plastic bubble. Don't let him God so I don't even let him look outside or think about going outside. It's a really scary situation there so I'm really hoping that in all of Italy but especially northern Italy then get a handle on that situation very very soon and it really stresses the importance of following the rules that were given in terms of staying away from other people and not having big events like motor. Gp races Because that is a prime example of what can happen when things do get out of control very quickly. So we're obviously all thinking about everybody in northern Italy and all the cases around the world all right. Let's move on to Andrea. You know now because there's still no decision in his doping case but we do have a little bit more information than we talked on the lascaux about how F. I N. President Vegas said that there would be a decision on the case soon. But that wasn't all that he had to say in that conversation he also addressed the idea that maybe the full Wada. A World Anti Doping Association Agency. Someone like that That the doping testing people that their list of banned substances wasn't really as necessary for motorcycle racing. And what he said quote with US SKILL PSYCHE. Encourage are more important than brute. Physical strength not to mention the problem of painkillers now. No really what he meant by the painkillers part. I'm assuming he meant that. There are painkillers on the WADA's list of banned substances. And we all know that motor. Gp riders. They're injured sometimes. We'll ride using painkillers. Maybe they can't use the most effective ones because of the rules. I'm not sure But he also said the adjusted that he plans to meet with the WADA. To See if it would be possible to have a list more suited to motorcycle racing. Now I suppose I understand the sentiment there but you get into a really tricky situation when you go down that path because we all know that when you're talking about in corporate people at Companies Motorcycle Racing Organization. Things like that the typical. You're dealing with reasonably intelligent rational people and if you give them a list that excludes some things you know that there are specific reasons for that. You're leaving them off the list and you can still be responsible but once you get into the world of sport teams and competitors racing each other. They look for any advantage they can get within and sometimes outside of the rules and so you run a huge risk here if you're the F. Im and you go and try and pare down that list to ban substances. You really run the risk if you leave the wrong things off that list. You really opened the door for stuff to happen. It's always better to err on the side of too many things in this kind of respect than to view but that aside. I don't WanNa get into that discussion now. I WanNa talk about what him saying. That means to me is my opinion of course because the fact that va is even bringing that up. I don't think it's a coincidence. It makes me think that at least he is sympathetic to Andreas. 'cause on one level or another and even though he doesn't have a direct say in the panel's decision. I'm thinking that that means that the F. Im will at least attempt to minimize the length of Andreas suspension. And it could be like we were talking about last week where the majority of his suspension is considered time served because he hasn't been on track since any of the winter testing has started and so if they go back to January. And say you've got a six month suspension. It could be over and done with before. They even go racing at this point now. Of course like we talked about last week the Wada could actually appeal the F. Im's Decision in terms of length penalty. If they believe that it's not adequate and then we'd have that whole can of worms to open but it does mean that if you're an Andrea you know a fan that things are looking pretty good right now that he's not going to have to sit out an inordinate amount of time and it may not be the thing that ruins his motor. Gp career and honestly if what he was doing was not for better performance if it truly was for you know just looking better for his instagram photos which it might have been then I guess it's more fitting that it's not a long term suspension that will ruin his career. It certainly wasn't helping performance wise as we all know but if he was doing it to genuinely game performance advantage on everybody else well then he deserves a penalty so I guess in the end. We'll have to wait and see if anybody appeals and what. The appeals arm with the suspension is. But my whole take from that Vegas conversation. Is that the F. I am is going to lean toward a lighter penalty for Andrea rather than a lengthy or one All right so that's the GP news. We have and that means a last order of business for the day. Is the motor week bike? So let's finish up this episode by talking about the very mysterious and potentially soul-crushing motor week motorcycle up until this point been far more pressing things to talk about but I definitely want to share the madness with you and I wanted to save it until the end of the show. In case you're bored you can turn it off now but honestly what else do you have to do so? Surprisingly the motoric bike has taken a lot less work than my much much newer and supposedly far more reliable automobile has On my car. This is one of the reasons that I wanted to have a show over the weekend and I couldn't because it turned out that when I went to replace my tires on the car that needed Both are shocks replaced. Anna axle replaced did all that in the garage over the weekend. So I didn't have time to work on the show all right. So let's get back to the. What is it well as those of you on breaded already know the official motor week bike is Ado Kadi? But don't worry that doesn't mean I have any bias towards coty once. The racing starts again but it's not just any do coty. It's an old old ish. Do Kadi Two nine thousand nine hundred ninety four why you might ask of all things that decode Ese for. That isn't incredibly good question and one. I do ask myself on a regular basis now but if you remember the second half of last season on the show started kicking around the idea during the comments at something small light cheap and fun kind of like RC. Three ninety or an Arthur asked a couple of you guys were deride something along those lines something Kinda Hoon around in the mountains on maybe do a couple of track days here and there but in the end I got worried about power and this is how I'm going to describe the motorcycle buying process in my brain and I'm sure a lot of you are going to be able to relate to this so I start with something. Small cheap right uncomplicated reliable new.

"Gp Show on the Internet thinks of self quarantine is fourteen days of motor GP videos or at the rate we're going maybe a month. Maybe two months a motor GP videos. It's it's nuts. I have no clue what it's like in your part of the world right now but here. It's just a little bit crazy. I mean businesses have been forced to close restaurants. Can't have people inside them. For some unknown reason everybody has bought every roll of toilet paper within a one hundred mile area despite the fact that as far as I know the current of Iris doesn't involve any extra pooping me and I'm no doctor but I haven't seen that mentioned anywhere yet. Maybe you have so with the entire world in a holding pattern. What on Earth are we gonNA talk about an emotional GP show? We're GONNA talk about motive. Gp Racing Number One. Well not real motogp racing but an online race with Actual Moto. Gp riders. It is happening this weekend. We're GonNa talk about whether that's a good idea or a bad idea. Then we finally finally get the chance to catch up on some of your comments while I get the chance to catch up on some your comments and now that I am going to be caught up. Hopefully that's going to encourage you to post a little bit more because I'm using up all the material I got right now in this show so I'm GonNa definitely more from you guys and I'll tell you where the post that in just a minute Plus we'll talk more about this season than what might or might not be whether we're going to see any more rounds postponed or not We do have at least some Modo. Gp News to discuss and at the end of the show will also talk about the basket case. That is the Moto Week bike. I know you've been waiting for this story forever but I will finally reveal how it came to be sitting in my garage right now. It's really not that interesting story but all of the things that are wrong with it. Now that is that interesting a story so you'll definitely want to stick around for that all right so before we get to the end for the show. I do want to invite you over to the website at Mojo week dot net all the latest episodes. Are there if you're stuck at home? You've got nothing to do. Maybe you missed a couple of them go back and check them out and like I said a minute ago. I desperately need content for the next show so the places to go to leave your comments. Facebook facebook dot com slash motor week dot net. Leave your comments below the post for this show over read it are slash motor week. I'm looking for photos. I'm looking for videos. I'm looking to find out what you're doing right now if you can't go to work And most importantly I want to know what you WanNa talk about on the show so push up your comments and I'll read them our respond to the my will respond to them now. That the work situation is pretty much figured out. Fingers crossed on that one and you can also follow along on twitter and Instagram at Motta Week. Got Some more stuff to post up on instagram. So if you're not following me there yet then head over there and follow the show all right so here. It is the official rundown just about everything. We're GONNA talk about on this episode of the Program. We're going to start with MOE. Gp actually racing this weekend just not at a real track. It's going to be online so we'll discuss whether that's a good idea or not and then we'll dive right in your comments One of the things you guys wanted to talk about Mark Marquez's legacy and if multiple manufacturers are necessary will also chat about the whole shot device. The whole shot device We've got pictures that we've got to go over and the post of the week is back and there are multiple winners although there's one really really big winner in that one and that's kind of Italian to the next thing we're going to talk about. Which is the famous league which is of course up right now at sports deck you can still join and a might have some news for you here in a minute. On a second fantasy league that will be doing this year. Presuming that we have actual racing. Then we'll dive into the motor. Gp News the latest on the schedule situation. we'll find out what. Delina of decoding thinks about the possibility of a race with no fans in the stands Valentino. Rossi is helping out at a hospital because you know he is the doctor after all and why it looks like Andrea you know a is ahead in his case with the F. Im even though no determination has yet been announced. There was something that I noticed last week in some of the comments. That stuck out to me then we will finish off the program with the motor week bike. What is it? I mean it's two Cardi I can tell you that much but more importantly why is it? And that's the question. I've really up until now been saving for my therapist because I think at this point that anybody that owns an old do. Khadi should have a licensed professional and speed. Dial at any given time. But we'll talk about that at the end of the show. Now I want to start things off. By talking about the fact that we will have a motor. Gp Race this Sunday. Okay so it's not a race but it's close because just like some other sports motor. Gp's can have an online race and so far ten actual fulltime motor GP. Riders have signed up marking Alex Marquez. Maverick Fan y'all as Alessio. Spa Grow Jamir Alex. Rinse Fabio Coiro eaker. Lona AMBIG- L. Olivera along with PETCO bag. Ni- somehow a my my invitation must have accidentally gotten bounced to my spam folder. Or something because I I didn't seem to have gotten it Initially Valentino Rossi was reported as having signed up. That's not the case as of yet but hey there's still time. Hopefully he will sign up. They're going to have a practice. They're going to do qualifying and then a six lap race at Mugello Mugello. I have no idea but it Sunday this Sunday at one pm GMT. I seriously for those of us here in the United States. I seriously doubt that they're going to show it on. Nbc Sports but it certainly will be on video pass if you have that and motor GP dot Com and apparently sky. Sport is going to cover it as well with commentary which is pretty cool now. Hopefully there will be a few more riders at sign up between now and Sunday. I don't know what you think of this whole idea but I think it could be a lot of fun the other day Sunday last Sunday Nascar and I'm sorry to say that's a bad word to a lot of people But NASCAR organized an event on. I racing last weekend. They got thirty five drivers from their three national series all combined to participate and Alam it. It was fun in fact it was more fun than most actual NASCAR races. The drivers were chatting. Everybody's having a good time it was as much of a social event as it was anything else in the racing was actually really good and I think it would be awesome if mo- GP can do something similar to fill in the time between now and when we can actually racing again now. I know that the dynamics of virtual motorcycle racing aren't quite the same as watching guys in a virtual qarase because you don't have real life controllers for cars with steering wheels pedals but it should still be a lot of fun and I've played motorcycle video games a lot. More in the past. Say Five or six years than I played car racing games and even with a joy pad you can get quite good at it so maybe not me so much but I know other people can actually not too bad but But I'm looking forward to this. I don't know if it's going to be everything. Hope for an expected. But at least it's something involving the actual riders. I don't know how they're going to put it all together if they're going to have maybe a series of Webcams so we can get rider reaction but that would make it a lot more fun if they could because then you get you know counter the feeling that we're all just kind of in this together. We're watching the raiders. Have a little bit of fun rather than just watching a video game screen and not being able to connect that to the riders. So I'm looking forward to it. It'll be interesting to see how it goes and if it goes well then I hope they continue it either. You know every week or maybe every other week up until we actually can have racing again but let you think that's a good idea or not all right so now let's dive in with some of your comments and there's been so long since we've talked about comments on the show and I'm really excited to do it First things first. After last week's show I got an email from Adrian and his direct quote was we will absolutely one hundred percent have fantasy trophies again this year why because Adrian is awesome that partisan his quote unquote. A dream is awesome. Thank you so much man. It's going to be so exciting and I know that first place and second place had both contact me. I had a little problem getting second place. Trophy out Because it was going to another country and they. They told me in the next form which haven't filled out yet so they will get their guys. They they definitely will get there. They're all boxed up and ready to go and I apologize if they haven't gotten out there yet so I'm so excited that we're going to have trophies to give away again this year provided we do go racing and we will. We will go racing so if you have not signed up yet. The link for sports stack is at the very top of the read. A page it's pinned to the top so just go to our slash motor week on. Read it and you'll see it right. There top clicked Lincoln. Sign up or go to the facebook page and scroll down a little bit. You'll be able to find it there as well and I'll put it up on the website too so everybody can just go to the website and find it if you're not one of those other two platforms. We'll talk a little bit more about fantasy and a minute because I want to get back into some of these comments now And then specifically I want to talk about Mark Marquess because last week on the show. I talked for the first time about this four year contract and of course including twenty twenty that means for the next five years Marc Marquez is writing for Repsol Honda and by doing so. He's really of giving up or relinquishing the idea that he's going to go out and win races and championships for two different manufacturers because by the time he gets out of this contract with Honda he's going to be an age where it's really really hard. Statistically for motor GP rider to win a championship. And of course when you consider the fact that guys like Valentine Roc- Giacomo Agostini and Casey stoner all have one for more than one manufacturer. It makes you wonder. Does that impact Marc Marquez is legacy or is it all at the end all going to be about the statistics and nothing but the statistics? Well Luke is definitely in the camp that you shouldn't have to run for another manufacturer you shouldn't have to have that on your resume to qualify you. As one of the greats in the sport.

"Not too much at least So I don't know those are the there are a lot of options and that's good but the first thing that has to happen before any of those options can seriously explored. Is Somebody out there. Some government out there has to say okay. Things are under control enough that we're going to allow events to happen again and who knows how long that's going to take you know but as long as you know places are willing to ease up the restrictions just a little bit then like. I said the thing with no crowd. While it might be a bummer. I think that it's possible. I think it's a real possibility to play Chris. In fact despite all of the craziness in the cancellations believe it or not. Moto E had a test in Harare earlier this week and of course even that was considered a controversial. Move at least by one Ryder in Alex. Angeles who posted on social media that he thought it was quote disrespectful to Italian riders and team members and of quote That the test went on and those guys couldn't be at home with their families even though he admitted that nobody forced them to go to the test. In fact the six fifty eight team decided. They didn't want to participate so that didn't come out. You know from my perspective on this. I believe that Alex is entitled to whatever opinion he wants but I gotTa Say. I don't think that from an outsider's perspective. It seemed disrespectful at all now if it were a case where the Italian riders in the Italian teams desperately wanted to come participate in the test but they were prevented to do to travel restrictions. Right but then the test went on without them. Then he'd have a point because others are now getting an advantage simply because of where they live and the Italian teams wanted to come out and be there and they weren't allowed to so in that case if they were teams that were going to be prevented for making the test due to reasons outside of their control but they ran it anyway. Yeah then that would be disrespectful to those teams. But that wasn't the case here. Anybody in the series could get there if they wanted to so. I don't really see where the great the service is because Alex just like everybody else had the choice and it didn't after all prevent the Angeles from participating in the test and finishing fifth highest on the time sheet. So it doesn't hit quite as hard when you get off. Your bike had res- and say man. It was so disrespectful. I just had to ride this motorcycle around this race course so many times So let's move onto the results of the Moto e test Two Thousand Nine Hundred. Matteo Ferrari led the way with the one forty seven four nine. Four eight guys within eight tenths of a second of Ferrari's top time by the way I'm still jealous. Matteo ferraris named Matteo for. I wish I've been named Matteo. Ferrari Eric Granado less than a tenth of a second off the pace and second don't meagher was third Bradley. Smith fourth the aforementioned Alexandra Fifth Point four or five zero seconds off the pace then Simione Mike Demilio in the Tuli rounding out the top eight. That we're all within eight tenths of a second of that top time now. Initially there was supposed to be a private Mo- GP test at harass this week Ktm pulled out pretty early on citing that they wanted to be able to keep their team members safe and then travel restrictions. One by one prevented more and more teams. Mostly the Italian ones From coming to the track and in the end Honda was the only one that was gonna be allowed to actually get their team and bikes and riders. They're in it didn't make a difference because says ended up just shutting down the track probably for the best In a spirit of competition sense of the word I mean because it was a private test so the rules are a little bit different than if it were an open. Test and teams were prevented from going there And I wouldn't have held it against Honda for conducting the test anyway. Even if the other teams were prevented for making it because like I said private tests different set of rules but in the end it's probably best to not. Have anybody do the testing and then they can put it back together. When the travel restrictions across the board are east up a little bit now while the unexpected delays to the start of the season and testing for that matter are certainly helping writers like Marquez and Takenaka Gami who are getting extra time to recover from their respective shoulder surgeries. It also gave maverick than y'all as apple time to go out there and hurt himself a monster. Yamaha posted a pick the other day of Maverick in the hospital. Apparently he had a training accident riding motocross bike. They said he was going to stay overnight for observation but he was in generally good spirits and he initially. You actually neither the team nor maverick. Initially provided much more information other than the fact that they confirmed he didn't break any bones or anything. Now Maverick posted just today. Before I sat down to record that he was okay. He was out of the hospital. Still hasn't told us what his injuries were. The only thing is that he was looking at a two week recovery. Time which obviously shouldn't be an issue right now. I don't know if you've got you know Lhasa Ration- or bruise or what. I was thinking the reason. It didn't say you know what the injury might be. Maybe maybe jump and came down. This foot slipped off the fatigue and he can't walk trae first couple of weeks. I don't know I mean it's possible but whatever it is he's GonNa have plenty of time to get better before it's time to really get back on the bike and do some real writing. I'm okay so until this point all we've talked about are the delays in the postponements and the general negative stuff. That's going on right now. I motor GP because we can't watch any racing I WANNA REWIND. Just a little bit then go back before the Qatar test and talk about the biggest news before. All of this corona virus craziness began the announcement. Not only that Marc Marquez had resigned with Repsol Honda but that he resigned for an unprecedented four years. And I haven't talked about this yet and I desperately wanted to talk about it but obviously there were some other stuff going on. So let's chat about it now. It's not unexpected. It all that Honda will renew with mark and I would argue that. It's not even that surprising that had happened before the season was set the start especially considering that Yamaha time both of their riders before I even got to the first test of twenty twenty. And if you didn't hear my comments on the signing of Harare along with that's going to affect Valentino Rossi Head over to the website It's a few episodes back. You should be able to find it there. But what is surprising about the Marc Marquez? Situation is the length of that contract locking up mark for four more years until the end of twenty twenty four until he is thirty one years old now that means for all intents and purposes that Honda is signing Marquez until the end of his serviceable championship potential. And I know some people might argue that point but the stats show it. I mean the stats. Show if you go back and look it is incredibly difficult in the MotoGP era. It has been almost impossible for a writer to win a championship after the age of thirty. Now I'm not saying that mark isn't going to be the exception to that rule if anybody. If anybody has a chance to be the exception he does. But even Valentino. Rossi's last title came when he was thirty years old and nothing sense. I think most of us can omit. The Valentino is the exception to most rules especially age related roles in motogp. Even he hasn't been able to win a post thirty championship. So while the end of this contract very well may not be the end of Marc Marquez career. He might race for Honda or for another team after that as far as the prime as far as the best chance for him to go out there and win races and win championships. He's effectively saying I'M GONNA run my entire championship career with Honda and with no one else. None of you disagree with me on that. That's what the form that's who have rented this four. That's what facebook is for telling me I'm crazy And you'll as monumental as this signing is obviously there are some different opinions as to what it all means so. Let's go over a few of those arguments and then. I'll tell you what I think of the whole thing The biggest argument that I've heard so far in the wake of this signing is that Honda is really painting themselves into a corner signing mark for this long and that's been presented different ways. You know that they're beholden to mark now that they're giving over the entire operation. The Marc Marquez You know and I see where that opinion comes from because when you give a guy a contract that's twice as long as anything that Rossier Lorenzo or stone or where any of those guys ever got and knowing that the money that goes along with that is plenty enough to not make mark. Think twice about giving up his future freedom and his future championship career in signing on the dotted line and giving all of that to Honda. Were there definitely with that. Move putting that contract in front of Mark. They're throwing one hundred and ten percent of their support behind marquess. I mean it's exactly as it appears all of their eggs in one basket jumping in with both feet. I mean any cliche as you can think of. That's what Honda's doing with this contract. Cadiz Paolo Chea. Body said that they're quote covering him in gold which could be interpreted different ways depending on where you're from And as such does that mean that mark now has Honda under his thumb that he's in charge of the situation because they've given up too much to him. Maybe maybe they are mean Heck Shibata went on to kind of take a shot at Honda after the signing by saying something to the effect of well. I mean if they you know Joss to one to keep developing a bike for one person one person alone then this was a good signing for them now of course he and Olive Takada were upset because they wanted to sign Marc Marquez to a long term contract and only develop their bike for him and nobody else too. But that's beside the point but and that's the prevailing attitude from a lot of people a lot of people think man. Honda give up the farm on this one but given the results that they've gotten up until now developing that bike primarily for one writer writer writer alone and seeing what that one writer has been able to do with it. I'M GONNA guess that they're willing to take that risk going forward because it's Kinda worked out okay for him so far in terms of wins and championships otherwise they wouldn't have even considered the idea of a four year contract to begin with if they weren't confident that they could continue to get that same performance out of mark for more than just this year and then two more years. So that's one side of the argument is that. Honda is really giving up everything and really turning the operation over to Marc and now they're going to be beholden to him for the next five years total or four years plus however many we race this year the side of the argument the other side of the conversation is that mark is shorting himself by writing the entire peak years of his career for woman. You factor rather than going out and winning on more than one type of bike and don't count that that is a thing mean sing as writers that we talk about as the best ever riders like Valentine Rossi like Casey stoner like Giacomo Agostini. For that matter they won races they won championships for more than one manufacturer. And that is something we've talked about before at length on the show. Do you have to switch manufacturers and then be successful for the new manufacturer to solidify your.

"The Busey gets all the love now because it still in production but I'll tell you the x-x not only can you get one for a reasonable price because they've been out of production for a while and they don't have that really close guests in the first of all I'm going to give you know other clues or else you're GonNa get it right away trust me but I will say that one of the guesses in that first thread was close it was in the ballpark what the motive week bike is so you can take that as a hit and the only hit you're gonna get for a while by the way do pr camp posted his Kajima mito that he had hanging out in storage you just pulled it out I can honestly say I've never seen one of those in person here and there but there's no question that bike has some serious Massimo Tambellini I know he designed it but it looks just like a little nine one twenty five two stroke it must sound awesome early lightweight looks like you'll be on the blast around back roads on a Jew Pr Camp also posted some pictures of the fans in Japan and are you sure that that was a where he'll Lorenzo fan or was that ninety nine mask specifically designed so she wouldn't catch whatever is making Lorenzo so slow on a weekly aces I also like that no matter what writer the fans were therefore Imo Taghi they were all you could have somebody decker Ballantyne Rossi game right next to him somebody decked out mark marquess gear and they loved their Garin that makes it so much more fun and so all these people wearing their favorite writer stuff yet no matter who they're favor Ryder was when the time came around they all had talking Nakayama flags which I thought was Orion and so great that they still no matter who their favorite is they still support their hometown guy lucky before posted a video with scouting I've only watched a couple of Scott reading's videos but the guide is highly entertaining and always said that before too even if I think he does some stupid stuff from time to time I've never said it's got writing is not an entertaining person to watch and I agree with you his videos are a lot of fun if you've never seen any of them go on Youtube they post them there fate lies in the way another cool screaming by the way fate lies in the way post to the pick of the bottom of the glass elevator well at the barber motorsports museum I did notice that when I was there must have had that there forever because it was years ago that I was there and they don't tell you about it but you pause for a second when you know and you don't notice it you're in the elevator even though it's glass only notice it when you're standing on one of the ledges and you're kinda overlooking everything and quit a minute what is that at the bottom of the elevator while there I want to give it away go right you'll see what it is but it's pretty funny it's good to know that they have a sense of humor there Greg Korcea that Daytona six seventy five bike is pretty frigging at bic on and not just because it matches up nice for Halloween gray paint scheme awesome bike of course and it must be a ride ride that thing on the track so great pictures there there are a couple of other ones left though reserved for our posts of the week we're not doing one or two oh it's been a while so I'm doing three three different posts of the week keep in mind as we go over these hand out points that they are imaginary points and they count for absolutely positively nothing they they can't get you anything they can't do anything for you except hopefully make you feel good keep him on how many points you do have because who asked her mom to do a painting for her and her husband and she wanted the painting of Marquez and Dana Petrova racing together from some picture that she thought I'm not sure where that picture was from. I'm guessing it's feeling like Aragon to me with the color of the rumble strips and then the guardrail kind of looking background this picture is five feet wide I three feet tall think about that per second five feet wide by three feet tall if you're a metric person that's do the math here real quick sixty in Columbus wide by seven kilometers toys that is that right yeah I think that's close I think it's pretty close it's either the size of a person if you're doing imperial or if your metric it's the size of the state of Rhode Island but one way or the other the first one I scrolled through I thought this picture of it's not a picture it's a painting and you know barbell some bikes mom didn't even think it looked at great I it looks pretty damn spot on to me I think she could mm-hmm if she wanted to so awesome work five thousand imaginary points to barbells and bikes and five thousand imaginary point specifically to mom because she didn't awesome up next up is alien for tipping us off to the awesome this that is cameo dot com now I'd never heard of the site and a couple of you have an either it seemed like I mentioned it to a friend of mine he's like Oh no why you've never heard of that site before like an older something come on I'm not that old like Valentin Russell not like Giacomo Agostini old but one way or the other this site is really cool what you can do is you can go there and they have all kinds of celebrities athletes or TV people movie people and you can pay them money and they will whip out their cell phone and make a custom video for you and there's only one motor GP writers far as on the site it's Danilo Petrucci an alien was like Hey for twenty bucks you can have them talk crap to your friends and autocrat back he's racist price already the thirty bucks so I'm GonNa definitely take responsibility for that by talking about it on the show But Hey I think thirty bucks is still a bargain I may actually have to have Danilo Petrucci cut a video for the show but a better do a quick before price goes up again so alien thanks for that three thousand five hundred imaginary points to you and then finally snuck motorsports doing double duty as both a crew member and the umbrella guy for Robert Peers and Super Sport in Moto America getting out anybody who gets out to the track and is trying to help make things happen for a rider that's trying to you know earn his way that's awesome stuff although if I have to knock you for one thing I thought it was required that all umbrella holders wear spandex so so a couple of points thirty five hundred imaginary points to for the awesome picture but you can earn yourself another fifteen hundred if you're willing to post in SPANDEX trust me it's not worth it the I mean if you want to go for but it's it's totally not worth it all right so thanks to everybody for your post pictures comments if I didn't get yours it's not because I didn't read it it's just because I or didn't like it for that matter it's just because I didn't I didn't have time we've got so much talk about on the show we're already like a half an hour in and we've still got to go over cates Yam Rail Renzo some great rumors and preview the racist while so keep leaving your comments on facebook facebook dot com slash photo dot net and over on the right at Sabat are slash modal subscribe to both and then join in the conversation and chances are I'm GonNa talk about showing the show art so let's dive in this Emoji news to wrap up the first half of the program just today KTM officially setting their lineup for the twenty twenty season and who knew this is out we'll go is there dramas works KTM maybe there is so the announcement was made and no Meek Kallio is not going to be the writer taking over the seat that John's Arco vacated for next season and no it's not gonna be Miguel avera either instead Bradley Bender Brad Bender who was announced a few weeks back as being riders would take over healthy sirens right attack three now instead is going to be moving directly to the factory squad for next season and is it that wasn't surprising enough when now somebody has to take over the seat that Brad Bender was never an attack three KTM pull the same removed they're promoting eaker colona who was originally selected to take over bender spot on the automotive team well instead now he is moving straight up the mortgage not to take benders seat there instead so the recap because I know it's kind of confusing Two weeks ago Brad Bender was going to be tech three rider is moving up to motor GP with Tech Three team now the first question I had as soon as I read the headline then listen to the press conference was wait a minute is isn't Miguel Olivera upset about this man the short answer yeah he is but KTM didn't think he would be and that that could be the source of our impending drama at KTM but we'll talk more about that in the second i WanNa talk about the riders involved in the moves that were made and I will say that this is definitely a reactionary move on the part of KTM and honestly it's understandable and I'll tell you I think that because remember when Casey I'm came to motor GP the next thing they did is they went to all this great trouble and expense to set up a complete feeder system through all of that troubled to set that up but then when the first opportunity arose last year to do things the traditional way and go out and get a coveted free rider during silly season well they went with the flow and they signed joins Arco somebody who every manufacturer had interest in and it seemed like it was a short thing a slam dunk that they were going to go out there and start competing for podiums and start competing for winds and then as we all know if fell apart and did so in unimpressed and that just reinforces that they feel like they got so burned by straying outside and signing this Zarko deal that they're trying to insulate themselves from having it happened again by promoting purely from with them so I think that idea was driving their thought process now I'm not saying that's wrong at all just on that plan a on those guys that you've been bringing up through the system now's the time to do it because the KTM system isn't going to exist next year emoto too on at least not the same way that it was before so if you've got these guys you've been bringing up on the trellis frame they've been learning how the race that Trellis frame and you're gonNA make a big leap it's better to do it now than repacking as well even though it's a satellite team and that was after originally being signed to one of the top moto two teams for next season you WanNa talk about a stratospheric rise at the beginning of this year if you had told eaker lackawanna that he was going to be riding a current model mode GP bike in two thousand twenty he would have told you aping chip he's only had one year of experience on.

"Same time they're obviously not at the same place in their career and it really makes you wish for a time machine so you can see those to go against each other when they were both at their peak. We'll say would have to be a mo- g._p. Bike though i'm gonna make the marquess fans mad here because i think if you put them both on five hundred 's no electronics five vendors that rossi cleans marks clocked nine times out of ten in that scenario not that. I don't think that marquess isn't talented enough to be able to write a five hundred. It's just that you know. It's what rossi came up doing doing so it would be an unfair fight. At that point. It's got to be on a motogp bike but i was actually just reading an article this week about how guys like stadium rossi better watch their records carefully carefully and keep their fingers crossed because you know marks coming in a hurry and we had this exact same discussion is quite a while back on the show now and we went through a lot of those records that rossi currently has and try to figure out weather. Mark had a realistic chance of catching all of them and some of them. Yes yes absolutely one hundred percent but some of them no. I don't think mark was ever going to catch some of those numbers and i can't remember and somebody's gonna undermine because one of you does remember. I can't remember what i said specifically about championships but i believe i was doubtful that mark would be able to match and then surpassed valentino's title mark and i was really reluctant to say that he was going to be able to pass giacomo agostini championship total but i'm in you know. I'm getting a little worried about that. You know if i did say that i might very well be wrong <hes> but i do know i do know that i was doubtful of mark matching valet and then goes totals in wins and i'm still standing firm on that one because i just don't think that mark is going to be riding when he's thirty six thirty seven years old and that's the point values career where he was still winning a couple of races year two or three races a year and so basically marks gotta gotta go for another decade winning the same at the same rate or a similar rate to what he's doing right now and that's a big ask for anybody and even if he's capable april of doing it. I don't know if he's can have the desire to race that much longer. Casey stoner and i'm not saying that he's going to retire in a year or two. I don't think he's at all but it's just another decade pushing. His heart is he's been pushing being at the top of his game for all that time. I don't think that any really would have that much of a desire to do that. I mean valentine. Rossi is certainly the exception to the rule there. I'm beginning back to mark's dominance have bruno as opposed to its dominance across his career. Peter said that bruno is a prime example of what makes mark so great right now..

"And and you could even argue yamaha i mean those guys have a win. They didn't have a win this point last year today and in the meantime honda riders not named marquez arquette has they haven't taken that similar leap forward yamahas one race. Dukakis won a couple of races with a couple of different reuters. Suzuki is wanna wanna raise but no other honda rider other than marc. Marquez has made it to the top step of the podium. He is the difference and in fact our chips. Says says that mark isn't even human in his opinion he's just simply on another level and he feels that marquez is even better than valentino rossi elsie when he was in his prime and that goes back to a comment made on the post ratio where i said hey even if you're not marquez fan enjoy what we're watching because we're witnessing the same type of dominance the same type of performance that we saw out of the doctor when he was winning all of his races knowledge his championships and so chip says hey no. I think mark is even better on a no. There are a lot of people that think that i know there are a lot of people that don't think that and there is something to that argument in one of the things chip said is that there's so much more talent now. It's so much much deeper than it. Was you know a decade ago or fifteen years ago and there is something to that. I would argue that they're more riders on factory supplied current your bikes than ever before and that in and of itself makes the competition closer better bikes on the grid but i still think it is a very difficult thing to say definitively that rossi better than mark or that mark is better than rossi or that either of them are better or worse than someone like giacomo agostini mike hailwood and i don't want to widen the conversation now too much so let's keep it between marquez rossi and i'll admit that when rossi was in his prime the gap between the haves and the have-nots was much bigger than it is right now i mean you think about a guy like cultural franken. Morbidelli there on an almost one hundred percent factory factory specs bike. Even someone like you know. Miguel olivera and huffy siren have something that is just a stone's throw away from the k._t._a._r. Factory bike and they're finishing finishing at the back of the grid guys at the back of the grid in the early two thousands they were not riding bikes that were just a few inches away from what a factory factory of full on factory quality bike would be so i will give you that but it's not like there weren't great riders back then and any of those guys any of them that have finished second to valentine rossi in any of his titles they would have been worthy champions themselves. I mean yeah there. Were definitely a couple of easy. Knock down the field but it wasn't like he was raised in a bunch of stiffs out there. There's some i'm really good quality writers and heck his greatest point-scoring year ever came against the likes of donor petrova and lorenzo and you know of course there's some of those races were great vendor defender battles some epic comebacks from the doctor when he was in his prime then you throw in the fact that he did it was so many bite configurations and both with and a._m. Without electronics and so there's so many variables there that it's really really hard to directly compare between eras even though those two riders happened to be still in the series at the.

"Should be happy with this result. But what did the LA himself thing was? Texas momentum builder or morale killer for the doctor. Well, you know, when you consider that it would have been his ninetieth modo GP win and would have moved him within six of Giacomo Agostini on the all-time GP victories list. You could understand if he was a little bit disappointed. But in reality, it wasn't really one or the other was kind of both but more positive than negative. I think based on Rossi specific comments. He did say that you know, the second was bittersweet because he knew that all he needed to do was eliminate a couple of mistakes, and he would have been able to win the race or at least take one more shot at Rennes in the final corner. And who knows maybe the pressure actually did get to him a little bit not feel that he did try to hard to retaliate when marines initially passed him for lead. And of course, you know, the old Rossi was you pass me, I'll pass you right back. But I think that he really did. Push the envelope way too far in that scenario and wanted to get back to soon. And that ended up being one of the critical moments in the race that handed it to Alex Rennes. Now normally that's not Rossi's MO to make a mistake and let the pressure get to him. But when you haven't won in a really really long time and on top of that, you know, the opportunities to win are kind of few and far between nowadays with that can make even the most experienced riders panic a little bit and push a little too hard. And because of that make a hasty decision. I think that's kind of what we saw outta Valentino. But in the end valley did see the points in the championship as a bigger positive. And on that token, I'd say he's right because when you think about it if you're going to try to tie Giacomo Agostini any statistical category. I would think that the chance to be in the mix to tie with eight premier class titles would be an even bigger draw then getting one step closer to the winds record. And that's probably the biggest reason that valley was not disappointed after this race. I mean, if he was fifty or seventy five points behind Mark right now, then I think yeah. He's kicking himself, and he's visibly upset because winds are all that's left, but being in the title hunt that takes a fair bit of the sting out of it. Even with some uncertain tracks ahead for Yamaha. And the idea that Mark is going to be very very strong all year long. I think that the bigger picture right now is more important to him. And if the championship situation have been vastly different. Well, then I think is reaction to what happened would have been much different as well. All right. So let's move on to the final podium finisher. The one you guys talked about so much in the comments, Jack Miller and first thing when it came to finishing on the podium. Jack said, quote, it's been a long time between drinks, and we all know what he meant figuratively. But I think that we all in reality. No that that's not the case. He's probably maybe what twenty four forty eight hours removed from his last drink before that. And he also said that he felt great on the bike. Now that you know, the seat has stopped falling off of it. But seriously, Jack knows he got some help from the Honda riders in front of him. But he also did a great job of maintaining his pace and writing within the limits of that bike to. Ring Homa podium, and I think the biggest takeaway here for Jack Miller, and we'll talk about this more when we get to my top five things from Texas is not just that Jack got back on the podium, but that.
