Thomas Sheahen's Objection to the Big Bang Theory

"I'm talking to Thomas Sheehan. What's that Greek? Thomas she and PhD, he's the author of a book every win. God symmetry in time. Thomas Sheen, when my book came out is atheism dead. A lot of people have emailed me because they have a young earth view of things they say that they believe the universe and everything was created only a few thousand years ago. I don't have a dog in the fight. My attitude is whatever is is and whatever scripture says is true. But a lot of people who have as high a view of scripture as I do yourself and Hugh Ross and others believe in the Big Bang. What is your most basic objection to the idea of the young earth concept? Well, the scientific evidence really is very, very good that it has existed for a very long time. I look at the first part of genesis as wonderful expression in Hebrew poetry of the fact that God was trying to communicate something to people, but whoever was on the receiving end couldn't get it all straight. And they did the very best they could and they've given us the best they could in circumstances where they don't understand fully all that God wants to say. Let me tell you about a certain 20th century guy. Well, actually, he's still alive. It's all from Brooklyn named Jerry Schroeder, grew up and went to MIT. I know Gerald Schroeder, he's in Israel. He's a genius. Go ahead. Well, he came to the table with a devout orthodox Jewish religion following a certain rabbi named knock commodities not to be confused with maimonides who were more familiar with. And he said, the universe was created in 6 days and that's what my faith says. Well, in the meantime, he's got a PhD in physics from MIT, so he knows what his science is. 13.8 billion years. And Schroeder said it's up to me to resolve what appears to be a discrepancy between my face and my science.

House panel swiftly takes up gun bill after mass shootings

"The day after another mass shooting a house panel is taking up gun legislation amid a sharp partisan divide The package would among other things raise the age for buying semi-automatic rifles to 21 after 18 year olds use them in the buffalo and Yuval day killings House judiciary chairman Gerald Nadler says most Americans want that and other measures and pushed back against Republicans who say Democrats are simply moving fast to politicize the killings Too soon My Friends what the hell are you waiting for North Carolina's Dan bishop and other GOP members say nobody wants to see more shootings But this package is both ineffective and illegal You are not going to bully your way into stripping Americans of fundamental rights With the Republicans nearly all opposed any House action would be mostly symbolic a bipartisan Senate group is working on compromise gun legislation Sagar Meghani Washington

David Gergen Shares His Experiences in the Nixon Administration

"David, I want to start because there's some people in the audience. I get new affiliates every month, and we get 400 and right now. I want them to know that you work for RN, you work for Gerald Ford, you work for Ronald Reagan, you work for Clinton. But you have different sort of styles and roles for each of them. Let's start with president Nixon. What'd you do in the Nixon White House? Nixon White House, I came in, I've been in the navy. I went to law school and I went in the navy for three and a half years. My last year, you know, I was assigned to come back to come to Washington to work on draft reform. That was the time when Nixon had launched a random lottery to determine what draft number you got and whether you're going to go to Vietnam or not. And we tried to clean that up, they ran a bogus in some ways, I ran the moderator first year out. I'll tell you, you have time for a little story. We got lots of time. We can go a long time today. Okay, super. Well, so the next one out of The White House orders a random lottery to determine who goes to Vietnam. The Lewis Hershey was then head of the draft. He was sort of the J. Edgar Hoover of the drafts. And so Hershey did something they did back in the Second World War, which was a very popular war. They got a bowl, they got capsules, and they put January 1 in the first capsule, put it in a bowl, and then January 2, all the days of January, then February, all the way up through the days of December the last ones into the boat. Got a spoon started up a little bit. Put it in the closet. And then on the day on the random monitor, they brought it to bowl, reached in for number one, you ought to Vietnam. And it was like November 15th. And then all of the early all of the early numbers and all of the early draws were from late in the year. So the whole thing was tilted.

Getting to Know Gerald Ford, the 38th President of the United States

"Let's dig in. This was a speech that was given by Gerald Ford president of the United States in 1977. It was January. It was his State of the Union, and I think he went ahead and took it to the State of the Union because Gerald Ford has an interesting perspective of being the only person ever to serve as president. And vice president, both, and never be elected to those offices. He was a member of the House of Representatives when Spiro Agnew resigned from the vice president. He was appointed by Richard Nixon to become vice president after Richard Nixon resigned. He taking again through the Twenty-fifth Amendment became president of the United States. So he serves as the only person to have ever served as president of this country without actually being elected. We've had some who have ascended to those roles, but if they actually served, if they serve later, they were actually president, but this was one in which he was actually appointed to the vice president's role, not elected to that vice president's role. So in moving up, it makes it makes an interesting anomaly in history. But it also sort of fits one Gerald Ford. If you look into his background, you look into where he came from. He's a midwesterner, raised in mission, Grand Rapids, went to school at the University of Michigan, played football there was a star football player. In fact, one two national titles there undefeated football teams at the University of Michigan after that went to Yale law school and then served in the United States Navy during World War II came out and began his service in the United States House where he served over 25 years before he was picked to be vice president and president.

Will Biden Nominate Kamala Harris to SCOTUS?

"To. Let me ask you the issue of Kamala Harris being floated as a potential nominee for the Supreme Court. She is a floater. She is definitely a floater to replace breyer, she really is somebody that anybody who knows what's going on behind the scenes knows that the Biden camp despises the Harris camp and vice versa. They're like each other. And they're both right. And they both have a lot of good points in their hatred. It's proof you can sleep your way to the middle and just sort of float to the top of the bowl. Well, of course, I have no idea what you're referring to, but let me say you say this. It is genuinely likely that Biden will see this as an opportunity to get her out of the way by promoting her to the Supreme Court because she's already a known figure. And then installing as his vice president, you know, a Gerald Ford type, a governor Rockefeller type. Somebody behind maybe a nurse or, you know, maybe a Doctor Who specializes in vegetative states, maybe Fauci. I think the one they want somebody better at preserving human life. Maybe they'd get Peter

The Omicron Non-Emergency

"The non emergency, according to The Wall Street Journal. The World Health Organization obviously is saying that the new variant poses a high new risk. And that beyond the large mutations in its spike protein, that we don't know that if this has increased transmissibility or could make vaccine antibodies less effective. South African doctors say that the cases are milder and cause different symptoms noticeably fatigue. Many are young people who might be expected to have milder symptoms. But breakthrough infections have also been mild. I don't think it will blow over. But I think it will be a mild disease hopefully. Despite all of this, European countries are now entertaining another round of lockdowns. Because they worried that socialized healthcare systems could get overwhelmed. This is The Wall Street Journal I'm reading from. 92% of adults in America have COVID antibodies. 92%. As of September from vaccines or prior infection. That means only 8% of America hasn't yet been exposed to the virus. Governor Cathy hoka, who of course is trying to win another term, she hasn't even won one term. Let's just say, when a term as governor, she's the accidental governor, she's like Gerald Ford. She she thinks that you become governor of New York by sewing fear and having total shutdowns and lockdowns, somehow that is something that state of New York wants.

"gerald" Discussed on They're Terrified & Tipsy

"Okay. That girl. I know. So now Jesse wakes up. She has lost a lot of circulation out of her hands. Yeah. And Jessie two comes over and tells her that the cramps are gonna pass, don't freak out. And then just start moving your legs for circulation. Yeah. So we see flies now that are like creeping around Gerald on the floor and then Gerald two comes over and both Jesse two are both of them tell her that she's got some daddy issues. Yep, okay. That's why she married Gerald and she starts talking about what had happened on it. Because Jessie two makes a little bit of a comparison to Gerald, because she's like, okay, well, Gerald was older than you. You older man. Your dad was a lawyer, Gerald's a lawyer, and also both these men are fucking nasty. Correct. Yeah. So she kind of tries to defend him. She's like, well, he never touched me. And then he only touched himself. And I'm like, that's the one okay. Not okay. The whole thing is wrong, not cool. So Jesse two brings up that he may not have done anything to her on this wing, but what about later in the bedroom? And I'm like, what the fuck happened in the bedroom? Yes. I know. Gerald two questions, 'cause he's like, okay, what happened? And Jesse is really reluctant to tell him. Sure, he's like, I've never heard this, why haven't you told me? So Jessie goes on to tell Gerald about this dream that she had had that night that she was in a well. And that there was a lady at the top, like on surface level looking down to her in this red dress and the smell in the well was really bad in that smell was the secrets. Yeah. So, I don't know. It's like she's looking up at this lady in the well who knows she's down there, but she just can't get out of this dark hole. She's in now, I guess. Yeah. And Gerald doesn't really seem to care. No. Because then he hops back onto the tangent about the imaginary friend that visited her last night. The creepy moonlight man who was hiding in the corner. Right. That's what Gerald the first time as the moonlight man. Because she was saying that he wasn't real, and he tells her to look at the floor by Gerald's body. Right. And she looks and she sees some puppy paw prints from the blood and he's like, no, look again. And she's like, no, no, it's just paw prints. And we see that there is a single human boot footprint. Yeah. In his blood. And he goes on to tell her. Yeah, I'll be back tonight, Jesse. And when you're dead, he'll have your wedding ring in his case. If the rest of his pretty things. He's real. He's going back. And he's going to come and take off her fingers and keep it as souvenirs. But okay, around this time, was I have a note for when one of the flies landed on Jeremy. Yes. And he was smiling, so his top teeth were exposed and then the fly like climbs on top of his teeth and he licked it. He and then the fly bit it back out. Yeah. He's fucking awful. What I hate him. So Jesse tells them to leave and she starts counting down from ten, ten 9 8 7 6 5 four. Close their eyes. Yeah, she's like, I'm gonna need you people to leave. Yep. I'm gonna need to be by myself. Whatever. So when she opens her eyes, she sees mouth standing in her room. Her dad comes in. So we're another flashback. Another flashback. And she kind of locks up. Like her dad comes in, sits down next to her. Because mouse had taken off the dress that she was wearing. Now she's wearing a frumpy sweatshirt, jeans. I think oversized everything. Covering up, feeling vulnerable, guilty, whatever, and she lays her dress on the bed, and she's just covered up now. Yeah. It kind of has her arms crossed around her chest, like just uncomfortable. Right. Poor girl. He starts apologizing, of course. And then she comes to sit next to him on the bed because I mean she's got a heart. So she doesn't want her dad to feel bad. He reiterates that he never touched her, but it still wasn't okay. And then he talks to her and basically makes sure that she's not gonna tell her mother. Yeah, because he makes it feel like this is her fault. Right. Well, first he starts off by telling her that, you know, he doesn't want a half to tell the mom because he doesn't want Jessie to get in trouble or mouse to get in trouble. But you know he thinks he should tell her because you know he doesn't want anybody to get in trouble and you know, if she finds out from her and he is, I mean, fucking manipulate. No. The whole time he's sitting there pretending like he's on her side. He doesn't want her to get in trouble, but if mom finds out, somehow, then Jessie's gonna get in trouble. He's like, well, I guess I should tell her. It evolves into her all of a sudden apologizing to him. Right. For what happened and saying, no, we don't have to tell. It's exactly what he wants. Yeah. He's manipulating her to be like, no, no, it'll just be our secret. I won't tell anybody. Well, yeah, he's telling her he's like, okay, so I just want to make sure he goes if we don't tell mom today, then we can never tell anybody. Right, you can't tell your Friends. You can't tell your brothers and sisters. You can't tell anybody. Yep. And she's like, I promise, I promise. And I'm like, he is horrible and he is a master manipulator nasty. I hate everything about it. I know, such a dick because I feel so bad for her. Well then he gets up and then he's just like nothing ever happened. And he was like, oh, I gotta go grill or something. Yeah, yeah, and actually leaving he was like blaming his behavior on the eclipse. Like, oh, that's supposed to made me feel this way. All right, get some cooking hot dogs now. Like that's not a thing. And eclipses and all of a sudden make you a pervert, and unless it's toward your child, right? I can't. I can't. What a douche. Okay, so mouse falls back on the bed after he leaves and closes the door, and then when she looks up, she sees this dark ghoul looking figure at her feet. Because, okay, mouse lays back on her bed, kind of with her arms out in the same formation that grown up Jessie is with a handcuff. Yes. So Jesse, real Jessie, present time Jessie wakes up because her foot is being licked. And she opens her eyes and that fucking gooey moonlight man with blowing red eyes set the Thermo licking her foot. Freaking me out. So then shall I where'd you come from dude? I was expecting it. And then she like comes to and like kicks her feet and it's actually the dog. Oh, I call them cujo now because cujo. Because he tries to like bite her leg. Yes. He's looking at her feet and then she flailed and he tries to bite her. And then he goes to Gerald and takes like another piece of his body and goes back to the doorway. It starts eating his meat in front of her again. Oh, my gosh. Don't take her to the bathroom dog. You need to stay in there. 100% and fucking two Gerald is being a douche bag. Oh, he's back. And he's like, yeah, I mean, you can kick all you up, but you're getting weak and the dog's gonna get hungry for fresh or flesh. So try to fight it off, but he can sense it. Yeah, he knows you're dying. Again, not helpful..

"They were trying to set it up because the dog was eating like the roadkill. And then they need to meet and then maybe I don't know. Because I don't think it's normal. No, it's not. And then of course she freaks out because I use it a bite out of it because forearm and she's like yelling at him. She's kicking your feet on the bed and the dog pulls the biggest dick move and takes like this piece of flesh and goes to leave the room, but then turns around and sits at the door, lays down and just starts eating and kind of playing with the forearm me. Like we're right in front of her in the room still. And I'm like, this dog came to play. Yeah. That is a real dick move. That's a really good way to put that. He's just like, oh, you want me to eat it? I'll eat it right in front of you. Try to do something. Here, what you gonna do, close your eyes. You'll eventually have to open them. It's not getting dark that quick. So she looks up and she sees Gerald. Getting up, and she gets really, really happy. Yes. So as he is yelling at her about feeding the dog and that the dog being in the room and taking a chunk out of his arm, she realizes that his dead bodies still laying on the floor. She losing her mind. She's losing her fucking mind. Yeah. But it hasn't been that long. No. Because at one point, she says to him, what is happening? And we get like a real close up of his face and he's like, well, guess you're losing your mind. Oh my God. Well, I'm pretty sure you just lost your mind. Well, it keeps telling her that her losing her mind is a good excuse for what she's seeing. And I'm like, Gerald, Gerald is a dick. You're a stick. He starts telling this joke about that he told one of his clients, when they were both at dinner with them. The punchline was, and I'm not gonna go through the entire joke, but it's basically the punchline was what is a woman anyway? And the answer was in that he basically made Jesse repeated because that was that he's a dick because he's a dick. And basically the answer is life support system for a kind. He's fucking disgusting. He's fucking disgusting. I just, that's not funny. It's not. It's so offensive. He's disgusting. Anyways, and clearly an abuser. Clearly. I mean, obviously, the whole sex situation was definitely hinting at that. But even dead Gerald is even meaner than a live Geraldine. I know. I just, whatever. So he makes he makes the question of was he a guy that was trying to stoop to somebody's level, telling this joke? Or was he actually a dick? And do you really know me is what it came down to? Yeah. So basically the whole time that Gerald is dead in talking to her, he is just fucking with her. Because her mind, the whole time, and the entire time too, he's very condescending to her, telling her she's stupid the whole time. And he's telling her like, okay, Jessie, think about it. I had the place clean before we got here. I had the landscapers come before we got here. I guess their neighbors who are too far from that they're Friends with aren't coming until June, which we don't know. The timeline is, but it's obviously not now. Right. So he's like, so no one's coming for you. No one's gonna be here for a long time. You're gonna die. Oh my God. I mean, you're not helping the situation. And then he's telling her, like, you've been sitting here for what? Like, how long did we get here? When did we go into bed? Roughly what time is it? 'cause the sun, okay, Steve is in your 5 hours and you've done nothing. And he's like ragging on her for just sitting in bed for 5 hours on doing anything to get out of these handcuffs. Because you handcuffed her to the freaking bed. My God. She starts really losing her mind right now. And now Jesse is kind of slipping out of the cuffs and breaking the columns on the bed. Yeah. Yeah. Because I guess Gerald's attitude motivated her to like squeeze her hand somehow out of the handcuff, which is okay. Okay. And then like break the post with their other hand is attached to. And then runs off of the bed to kind of laugh in his face, but now she's just staring at herself. Right. So she has like her internal self and her physical self are like both there? Yeah, she looks back and she sees her and Gerald just sitting on the bed . And I'm like, oh, okay. So she is losing it 'cause she is sleeping herself, which is a more confident version of herself and Gerald. So now we have Gerald two is what I call them in Jessie two. Okay, they're basically not dead. They're just not her. Her subconscious. Yes. Her what? Okay. I preferred him as fucking Gerald. I mean, Jesse literally is three different people in this movie. Yes. So I had to come up with different names for him. Two was her subconscious self. Correct. Okay. Her more confident self. Correct. Oh boy. Later that evening, Gerald two asks, how long people will survive without water? Yeah. And about him taking his Viagra. Like just having this conversation with giving her hints. Correct. They start talking about the time that he had taken one and that he was soft as a kitten. Not my words. There he is. Because she said that he never needed the Viagra and she didn't like when he took it. Right. And he said that he had to take it because in time they tried to have sex. He was just soft as a kitten. So compare your gross stick to a kitten, right? A little soft fluffy kitten. Nothing worked until he held her arms above her head. Yeah. And started choking her. Yeah. And he got real hard apparently. Yep, harder than he's ever been before. And she wondered who she had married, which, I mean, at that point? Yeah. Kinda. Yeah. So then, Jesse two starts talking to her about talking to Jesse about how it was a great thing that he was taking those pills because they made him really thirsty. Yep. So she remembered that there was a glass of water on the shelf right above the bed. And then she tries to drink it, but it was like kind of just out of reach. Yeah. Because she gets it off the shelf. Gerald kinda laughs at her 'cause she's really proud that she maneuvered this glass off of this. Right. And he's just staring at her. Yeah, smile. So she's holding it in her right hand and she's so proud of herself and he starts laughing. I like to taunt her. Yeah. And then she goes to drink it and she just can't reach her mouth with the glass. Yes. It's interesting. Girl. So as he's laughing at her, Jessie two is like standing there. She's like, just put the glass up on the shelf again, where you can reach it. We're just right there. Don't do anything with it. Don't break it, don't slide it off the thing or anything like that. We're gonna get you some water basically. Yeah. Okay, so the stray takes another bite out of Gerald again. So he's kind of still feeding on Gerald on the floor. Yeah. And then Jessie gets an idea that if she takes the price tag from the new slip that she currently has on when they're gonna have their little sexy time. Yeah. She rolled it up like a cigar because it was on the shelf also. Yes, so you can be with her other hand. Yeah. So there's all kinds of shit on that show. I don't know. Hopefully there were keys up there. Shane he didn't put the key up there. Right? Not a bit too close to him. I know. So she gets the cup of water off the thing again. She had rolled this tag up with her other hand to make it like a straw kind of. Yeah. And then she drinks her water. She puts the water back up 'cause Jesse two is like, don't drink at all. Save something later. Correct. And then when she puts the water back up, she gets like real tired and she falls asleep. Yeah. So Gerald, two, he's like, yeah, you're tired because you were like amped up on all of your adrenaline. Adrenaline. And now you're crashing. Oh boy. So she goes to sleep. So that night, we hear noises. Oh boy. In a stray dog runs out of the house. Yeah, he doesn't have to whimpering any freaks out. And I was like, that's never good. Never good, not. Not,.

"Their marriage or fix their marriage or whatever, and she just doesn't seem like she's interested in fixing it. No. I think she thinks it's just too far gone at that 100%. So Gerald gets distracted as he's driving and he almost hits the stray dog that's standing in the middle of the road, like eating some broker. It's like a possum. Yeah. He swerves and whatever. He stops hunks at it. 'cause she freaks out, she yells at him, just catches attention. He like jams on the brakes and then the dog is there in the middle of the road, eating a steadfast, and which is really sad. Yeah. And she's like, oh my God, he's starving. And she's like, I wonder if he has a tag. So Gerald lays on the horn. He's like, we're not stopping. We don't run off the road 'cause he gets scared by the car honking at him, and he swerves around the possum and leaves. And I'm like, this guy is cold. He's got no heart. I'm not saying it to stop for the dog, fine. He didn't have to do that, but he didn't have to hug. Just drive around him. Right. There was plenty of road. Don't think he's so nasty. It's just a dog. Just leave him alone. Alone, he's just trying to survive. I don't know. So they get to this house. Me and Gerald immediately gets on this phone call, probably a work call of some sort. And then Jesse walks around the side of the house towards this Lake that they backyard in the backyard. And she's just kind of enjoying the fresh air she kinda has her eyes closed and she's just kind of like taking it all in. She goes back into the house and the refrigerator is completely fully stocked. I guess Gerald said that he made sure that everything was ready. And then she sees this piece of steak that's in there. Yeah. So she didn't care that it's what a $200 $200 very, very, very marbled piece of meat. Colby, I think, and apparently it's Kobe beef that he got actually from Kobe and it's $200 a piece. I'm like, who cares Gerald? Who cares? I don't know how that's gonna fix your marriage. It's just throwing money at it. You were trying to impress. Your wife knows your financial situation. We're trying to impress. She don't care. Well, she just wants to take that me. She cuts up. She takes it out to the front, she just kind of waits for that stray dog to come in. So Gerald comes out as she's waiting, and he gets pity. Kind of irritated. Yeah, 'cause he's meant that she's trying to feed this expensive beef to this dog. Okay, fine. Right. But she's also has a good heart. She's trying to feed this dog. The doctors are approaching her and then as soon as geralt comes outside the dog runs away, scared of him. Yeah. And he's just such a dick about it. Oh, and before that, we saw him in the bathroom. Oh yeah. Yeah. So he goes out there. He kind of lightens up on her after he yells at her for using his state because he wants to have sex. Right. So he pulls her in the house. They leave the door open. Yeah, and she notices it, and I'm like, I don't know why you leave the front door open. I just, even if nobody is there and whatever close the door, right. Just close the door. No, they didn't. They didn't. I don't know. So they walked through the house. I said it was really unsafe. That's what happened my notes. So she gets her lingerie on. And she's kinda getting all sexy posed in the bed. He's in the bathroom. She calls for him to kind of come out and he walks out with these handcuffs. Yeah. And she notices that they're not, she says the novelty. Oh, yeah. Kinds of she was expecting. And he goes, he's the real deal. Many others can just break. You get going too hard. What are you trying to do? Well, he said that they break too easily if you're going too hard. He's. I don't like that. No. Just because it's one thing if you want to fulfill this fantasy handcuff your wife do your thing fine. Do your thing. Who cares? But it's like, I mean, it'll get worse and we'll get through it, but he takes it so far. It's entire time. So it's like if you think spice up your marriage is going to be handcuffing your wife to the headboard, and she's down with it, then fine. Right. But she was. She was not down with it. So it's not okay, dude. Back off. Chill out, man. Well, they start kissing and doing whatever. She's obviously still uncomfortable. He leaves to get up, she is still chained to the bed to go get a glass of water. Yeah. So it's apparently the Viagra makes him very thirsty. I have so much to say. I'm not okay with anything. Okay, so she notices that there's the bottle of Viagra that's sitting on the counter, so she kind of sees that going on. He goes back over and he starts like role playing that he's not her husband and that's her to scream for help. He puts her to call for help. And he says like there's no one nearby for miles, no one's gonna hear you. So why don't you call for help? And she's like, oh, okay, help and says it playfully. I need you to be serious. He wants her to scream for help. And I'm like, I just, this is your wife, or are you wanting this to be like a rape scene? Is that what's going to turn you kind of how it evolves? Well, yeah. Because it's one, again, to go back to where we were saying before, it's one thing if you're both on board with this fantasy. And she's like, wants to be the damsel and wants to scream fine. Great. But she's visibly and she tells us how uncomfortable she is and he's like, I don't care. He bites her, and he's telling her to yell. Yeah. He's being rough and at one point he because she's handcuffed to the headboard. And she's kind of sitting up with her back kind of against the headboard. He pulls her down onto the bed so put it where like her wrist get kind of snack by this handcuffs and she audibly says that that's too rough. He's hurting her. And he doesn't care. No. He's getting so into it. I just can't. I don't know. Yeah, it's one thing if she was okay with it, but she's not. No. So she's gets pretty loud with them. And he thinks that she's playing at that point, but she's demanding. She's like, I want you to uncuff me, like right now. I don't want to live out this crazy rape scene that you're trying to fulfill. I'm done with it. No, he gets mad at her for not playing along in quote unquote trying. Yeah. And then she said that she isn't playing his little rape game that he's doing. And he hasn't touched her in months. She's like, this is not gonna fix our marriage. Why haven't you given me any attention this entire time? Yeah, it's an extreme. It is sure. So again, she tells them to uncuff her, and then he goes, well, what if I don't? And I'm like, oh, I can asshole. What an asshole. I literally wanted to come through the TV. So he moves in and then she bites his lip and he kind of moves away because he was gonna have sex with her anyway. Right. Because she's hand up to the bed. So he's still gonna live out this weird fantasy that he has regardless if she wants to or not. Great. So he was going to approach her to still have sex with her and that's when she bit him. Yeah. And he gets pissed, but all my good for you girl because that's fucking disgusting. It is. And it's your husband and he's supposed to respect you and he's disgusting. Well, he goes into this whole monologue, they're kind of going back and forth or whatever. And then you could see him, he starts rubbing his left arm. Yeah. And then he sort of strives towards grabbing his chest and I'm like, oh my God. We're having a heart attack. 100%. So he dies. On top of her, literally on top of her. Her lands on her. So she's obviously panicking. And then she realizes that after she lifted him up to try to get him awake and then yeah, she used with her feet. Yeah. And then ends up knocking him off the bed. And so she's talking to him like, okay, it's not funny anymore. I need you to get up or whatever, and then she sees blood pooling from his head. Yeah. And she can only see the top of his head and his arm sticking out. Okay, so now she really panics. Yes. So in a little bit later, it's getting darker obviously. Of course. And she starts hearing noises outside the bedroom windows. Like footsteps. Yeah. Hello? And then she hears banging coming from the front of the house and starts calling for help because she thinks that maybe there's somebody out there. Yeah. Okay. Well, there's not. No. But then we see a little bit of a shadow at the doorway and I'm like, fuck that. Fuck this. Well, she hears these little light but taps coming through the house towards her. And it's a stray dog that she had fed. So the dog comes into the room. She's trying to shoot away, but obviously she can only do what she can do and yell. She's still attached to the bed. Correct. The dog walks over to Gerald and starts licking up the blood that's around his head but yeah it takes a freaking chunk. Out of his arm. Out of his arm. Okay, hold up a second. Okay. There is no way that this German Shepherd was somebody's pet. Because a domesticated dog does not have the taste for human flesh. No. Why would this dog's first.

"gerald" Discussed on They're Terrified & Tipsy

"How's it going? I'm okay. Good. Yeah. Yeah, I'm, you know, hanging out. Good, weekend going well. It's sadly it's ending. I know. I always get, I get excited when we record on Sunday Night. 'cause I'm like, yay, recording, and then once we're done recording, I'm like, now it's Monday. Well, I know, right? Well today, I did put up some fall decorations. Getting false. I feel like I'm just skipping over Halloween altogether. I mean, it's not that I don't like Halloween, but I think that it's an opportunity October itself to be fall decoration too, because I worked with Halloween as well. Correct. So I'm just going to kind of incorporate some things that are Halloween. And then I'm going to incorporate things that are Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving Y Thanksgiving. Yeah. Whatever. And then it stays around for a couple months. That's right. I mean, I was trying to do a longevity in regards to the holiday. Sure. I didn't want to take it down and put it back up. So I'm all about some Christmas too. So if I start that early, so I might look at this started early too, right? It'd be like November 1st, and you'll be like, Christmas time. I'm like, wait, what about Thanksgiving? It's the time. It's Christmas. It's Santa. How should we get? It was good. I went to Ikea yesterday and I love Ikea. I love my sister and I call it our happy place. Oh, it's so good. I love Ikea so happiest place on earth. We just went there and kind of just wandered around. You know how people say they go to target and target tells them what they want? Yeah. That's actually about Ikea. Yeah. Because I go to Ikea and I always leave with something. Like yesterday, I left with a walk. Uh oh. Two dish brushes. Okay. Two sleeves of cookies. And I'm not surprised. Like ten full decorative neck it's a claw napkin. So I'm gonna just ask you this one question already know the answer. But do you eat the cookies? Yes. Well, I already knew that. Before you go out of the parking lot or on the way home. I actually only eat them today. Really? But almost the whole sleep also. I mean, I'm not ashamed, but it's just a truth. You should be ashamed. So good like the chocolate filled ones, and they're so good. I mean, why wouldn't you want to do that? Why are you gonna deprive yourself? I would never. Not with crystals. No. I mean, what I was going to say was that, you know, most of my purchases are basically at the last little. That's all it was. Yeah, although that market spot, that's all it was. It gives me everything. Furniture or anything like that? It's like sometimes just go there and just walk around. Yeah. And so we went there. We're walking to French's office. I was like, oh, that's cute. Oh, that's cool. Whatever we noticed whenever things. But once we get to the market, I mean, all of my dish brushes I get from Ikea. So every time I just buy a dish brush, it's like a dollar. So I get there. We only took it to this time. 100%. Okay. We maybe took like three steps in my husband's like, oh shit, this is a nice walk. And I was like, we used the walk that we have a lot. Maybe we should get another one. So now I'm like, oh, good cart. I never used a walk in my life. These all the time. I would. Everything, because it's so nice because it's like a so it's a flat bottom, but it has really high walls to it. So you could put a bunch of shit in there. You could be messy cook like me and just make a mess and it stays in the pan. Interesting. It's awesome. Okay, so we use ours a lot. And I was like, go get a cart from Turner and guy having art. And we got the walk and some brushes in there. And then I host Thanksgiving at my house. So I saw that they had all this fall decoration stuff out. Yeah. And it was like he's really cute napkins with these pretty leaf colors on him. And I was like, well, I guess I'm getting ten of those. So because two just isn't enough. Yeah. And then we get to the register. And I'm like, walking up to my stuff on the belt thing whatever it's called. And I was like, oh, cookies. And whatever. You're like, some car snacks. I'm a little munchie on my way home. And then I grab the chocolate ones for myself. My husband grab the strawberry ones for himself, which is fine because I don't want the strawberry ones. And I just added it to our purchase. Why not? Yeah, it worked out great. So I guess you could say we had a pretty great weekend. Cookies. Yeah. And I can't. So what are we drinking? We are drinking some moscato. We are. Just an oldie, but a goodie. I know wrong. I don't really even know the brand of it. It's just a moscato mini bottles. Do you remember which one? I don't know either. Is it summer? Is it Sutter home? Is it the baby? I don't know. We put them in actually glasses this time, so look at us step it up our game. We came out of a small plastic bottle. I mean, we're not above doing it though. We have. When we had the little guy, the little bottles were just like screw off the top and straight from the bottle. We're being bougie today by putting an actual glasses. Wait, look at this go. What did we watch this week? We watched Gerald's game. We sure did. And I just hate the fact that the username, Gerald, not to hate the name Gerald, and I feel like it's not like fluid to say with the word game. Gerald's game. It's just a lot to say. And I was like, it's not just a role at the tongue. It doesn't. And I had never heard of this movie before. It was on Netflix, so I make watch on Netflix and actually a friend of mine recommended it. Interesting. Okay. So, yeah, we'll see how we feel about it. Would you like to hear the IMDb? Synapses for it. Of course. Okay, a couple tries to spice up their marriage in a remote Lake house. After the husband dies unexpectedly, the wife is left handcuffed to their bed frame and must fight to survive and break free. Yeah, that's basically what happened. That's the whole movie, right? I guess we're done here. Bye guys. I've seen it. Yeah, no, that's it. All right, so before we hop in, couple of reminders as usual. Yes. Tipsy pie dot com as we said last week, it had a facelift, and it looks pretty beautiful. We're kinda busy now. Like we're like legit. So. So check out our new website. It looks really nice. It's the same stuff on there. You can find ways to support our show. You can find tipsy pod merch. You can find buy me a coffee on there. Do you want to buy us a glass of wine? It's $3 and $1 goes to the puppies and the kiddies, so it's nice to help us and the puppies and the kids. Right. So do it. Do it now. Don't walk. Run. Hurry. Go. And you can also find our Patreon on our website. We caught a picture. Kind of picturing on. What can they do if they decide that they want to support us? Support us. I'm so glad you asked Courtney. Yes. There are three different tiers on the Patreon. You just gotta find the one that works best for you. There is a tear that you get ad free episodes. You get episode of the day early. You get exclusive videos and bonus content that we don't have on normal feed and what get to recommend movies to us. How cool is that? And then when we get a list and we recommendations, you actually get to vote on the movies we watch. I mean, pretty sweet. I think that's pretty cool. Who doesn't want to just see how much they can make as uncomfortable in the movies they suggest? Right? Some people have more than others. But, you know, whatever, by the way, I mean. Check out our Patreon and see what works for you. Either way, it helps support our show and we appreciate it. Yes, we do. We love you all. Thanks, guys. Should we happen? We should. Let's do it. Do it. Okay. So we see a camera over a bed, and we see a woman who is like packing a bag and then we see a man after she's done and kind of out of there. It kind of like fades in and out. And he's packing. We notice as the camera pans onto his back that he puts two pairs of handcuffs. They are not like kinky hand cuts. They are legitimate metal, heavy duty handcuffs. They are. Okay. That's going to come back. Yeah. So we are heading down this back road in a couple who packed their bags. They're heading somewhere together. We don't know where. And Gerald is driving. So we meet him, and then we also meet Jessie. So Gerald puts his hand on Jesse's leg. Yeah, like on her thigh. On her thigh and she kinda grabs it, she looks real uncomfortable. You can taste like trying to like move his hand up her thigh. Yeah . And she's like, not the time, dude. No. She's just, I don't feel like she's into this trip. Wherever they're going, they're not she's not in it. Yeah. They're going to like spice up.

Should the Climate Movement Embrace Sabotage?

"So Gerald byer who's a right leaning guy I'm not particularly friendly I don't really know him that well But he noticed that there was this article up in The New Yorker Should the climate movement embrace sabotage Apparently this was an actual article up at The New Yorker Should the climate movement embrace sabotage The core of the article the court tenant was that left this should consider environmental sabotage of pipelines bombing pipelines and whatever as a reasonable means to stop energy production in the United States ladies and gentlemen this is The New Yorker So buyer put out on his Twitter feed He put this gas commentator literally calls for blowing up pipelines not a metaphor The New Yorker again he says literally platforming a terrorist Now this is nothing unusual I mean of course the left is in love with violence They have been in love with violence for a very long time But what I found unusual about this is I went down and started scrolling through the comments Folks I could not find one left this comment on this thing from a leftist That was condemning this thing outright I couldn't maybe it's there I didn't scroll through the whole thing to be fair There were quite a few comments on Gerald's tweet But the ones I scored here's just a screenshot It's taken from my phone I got it right here Of just like the top ten I saw These are leftist responses to bombings and environmental actual and not figurative not metaphoric Actual environmental terrorism that could get people killed and disrupt the entire energy industry in the United States One person commented what oil companies do to get their pipelines is terrorism Sabotaging them is self defense

"She didn't do anything you know what i mean. So it's like i'm. She's not protecting her dad anymore. she's not and i think even she mentioned gerald's firm covering up with what had happened with them and she's like that's just you know we're still sweeping this under the rug. No this is what happened. She spent so long in this mental prison that you know admittedly she put herself in. But you understand why she did that and you know she thought it would protect herself when in reality we see at the end. How much more free she is. Once she's able to share her story. And i love that character progression for her. Because it's slow and painful and you see all of it. Oh no she earns every ounce it for sure. And so. I feel like that's why that's such a the moment in the courthouse when she was like. You know your your smaller. I thought you were bigger. Because she's the one that's bigger so it's like you know i'm not. I'm not scared. She's not going to be passive. She's not sitting on the swing anymore. You know she's she's done. She's moving forward. Yeah another little thing. That i caught onto was the backbone and obviously king has a book called bagga bonds. I don't know if that's what the intention was. Or if this guy literally was just like so strange and creepy that he actually did carry a bag of bones around with him which given all of like the newspaper clippings and stuff that she found with him being like a grave robber and doing all sorts of other things would dead bodies that no one needs to know about it. I was like oh oh. She means a literal vagabonds. Okay okay but rene anything else that you wanted to sort of pick out here and dive into you know like we said. It's one of those stories of kings. Where a lot happens so much of it is like an internal struggle for the character. So it's like you know. It is a little slow but the payoff in the end is just worthwhile and like we said the flashbacks. Keep that pace moving forward. Yeah no it's the ending is is absolutely worth it because you you're going through this. You know worst suffering with her. So it's like i just i guess. Wanna shout out the performances. Because especially carla gino. How i can't imagine how difficult that must have been. And then the fact that her really and bruce greenwood or playing dual roles you know so it's like and then henry. Thomas very excited every time i see him in anything and he was just made my skin crawl in this so i mean just superb. Yeah and you know that has to be a role that was not easy for him as a father you know. He has three kids. I think and you know. I don't know how old his kids are. But you know he's i think he's almost fifty so you know they might be in their twenties. They might be teenagers. Who knows and you know that moment where he's like well. I didn't touch you. And i was just like that. Just not really make it any better. You're just like well. I wasn't that bad. I could have been worse. No no no no no. That's not that's not how you should phrase that. Yeah no that was an even hers saying what he did in the room was worse like it is. I mean you can see. This is a child how he's leading her. And i mean mom probably wouldn't blame. I mean nippy relation. Yeah seen it was so good and so hard to watch at the same time. You're like look henry. Thomas your great we love you. Don't ever do this again. Only and again flanagan has us right in their faces in that scene. So i mean it's just. He's your linda's exactly. Yeah it's wild. This is by far one of those adaptations that just kind of makes your skin crawl without having like a ton of gore you really have like two gore effects. Really you have the hand and you have the dog you know like ripping meet up and eating it and that that's kinda hit and it's not even like a lot of people are dying. It's not like a zombie flake or a slasher flick. It's just like so psychological. But you're just like okay. We need a break you know. Just gotta sit here with my thoughts. Definitely so rene. If there isn't anything else. I like to talk about ratings know. Obviously we both really enjoyed this. I gave this a four out of five. I think you know just the courtroom scene was kind of that one thing for me whereas like we didn't really need this because it almost felt like they brought her in just so people would hear him talk and you know because they they had mentioned that he wasn't talking or something like that and then he sees her and all of a sudden he talks and i don't even think i understood what he said but you know he's like mocking her what she told him in that. Because i feel like we're in this weird unreality with jesse for a lot of it and you know gerald's dead own away. He's standing and talking to me and i'm free. Oh no wait. I'm still on the bed. And so you're almost like was this real. And i feel like that moment is like no this was an actual monster that you know. She gave her wedding ring to. But yeah and i don't think they ever founded. Did they know so. Then you're like. I don't wanna know what he did with that not at all. So what is your rating for this. I mean i'm sure this isn't a big surprise. I would vote for mike flanagan for president. If i could on my letterbox. I definitely gave it a five out of five. Because the the book. I just loved the book so much and i was very like you know. How can you even make this a movie. But it completely blew me away. Yeah absolutely and i am in on midnight mass. You know i'm in on whatever. Mike flanagan does. But rene you will be back for the doctor.

Because we do spend so much time with just her in the bed and you know the version of her that she is seeing and the version of gerald that she seeing just kind of bickering and forth. So is there anything specific that you want to touch on. Because i think there are still a few little details we could dive into but overall anything on your end. Well i mean one thing. I definitely wanted to be sure to mention was that you can really tell that. Flanagan is a constant reader because he constantly drops these random king references throughout the film. And it's one of those things where you know if you don't if you haven't read the dark tower. He says all things serve the beam. And you're like okay. Sure okay gerald but you know us. We're like oh that puts the dark tower. It's like these. Little easter egg treats for us. And i just it's it's really masterful the way he's able able to you know kinda we've those in without alienating someone who you know might not get it and you know. He calls the dog cujo at some point. And that's a term that so many people use i think whether or not they've read the source material even like anyone sees like this dog barking. Its head off or chomping on something. Oh there's cujo so it's always fun to catch those little things. One thing that was not a king reference that i did catch though that is definitely like a mike flanagan reference. Now is the fact that the book she pulled off the shelf. There was midnight mass. Yes i that's not something. I noticed the first time. I watched say when i watched it this time i was like oh like i was very excited about it and it was like fresh in my mind because i had just watched the trailer for it. So the fact that we're doing this now at that happened i was like oh i see what you're doing mike flanagan. You're playing chess and the rest of us are playing checkers. And on top of that in highs. That's the book that she's writing the the main seghal. Yeah so it's like it's like a like mike. Flanagan universe that. He's kind of cultivating which is just. I'm beyond here for it. Yeah yeah. I think if he is down for movies tv shows whatever i am in and i would say this is the movie that necessarily cemented that for me. It was probably more so the haunting of hill house. If i'm being honest and then you know this doctor slip. He's just he has such a track record. And i know their stuff. He's done that people. Don't love which you're going to have that with every person in film and tv you're going to have things you love and things you don't love but you know this is definitely topped here. This is a very good king. Add up patient and you know. I have sat through many bad ones. Many many bad loans and it's always so nice and refreshing despite he dire situation and the horrific things that happened in this to get something that understands the source material so well and that's not a knock on any of the other filmmakers. Who have done king adaptations but some of them are based on their circumstances. You know lower budgets. They were tv adaptations. you know. Netflix is throwing money at things. You know if you get something on netflix you you know at least the quality is going to be there. Like you're not gonna find a boom mic in one of the shots like you do in some of the older adaptations. Yeah for sure. And i'm. I'm grateful that i mean i think this film that was a that was a risk especially when they made it that was it was. They took a chance on making gerald's game. And i'm i mean i'm very grateful. I mean a flanagan. Obviously into netflix. Because i mean this could have not been very well received. And i don't know if this would have done well in theaters either just because of the type of movie it is. I mean if you look at horror box office numbers you have the stuff. That's definitely going to do well. And oftentimes it. Is stephen king stuff. But sometimes you know you get a stephen king adaptation near like y-. Maybe this isn't right for theaters. So i think this being on netflix was a good move. Yeah definitely and i mean again like you had said he appreciates and understands. Because i feel like if you put gerald's game in somebody else's hands this could have been. This could have been awful. It could have been even weirder and not in a good way like honestly. Almost none of this movie was about like jesse sexuality or anything like that. It was simply about what had happened to her. The psychological trauma that came with it and her trying to figure out how to deal with it. And even though you know gerald like trying to play this game and acting like he's turned into someone else which is you know to each their own. But no thank you and clearly jesse what are we. What are we trying to do. She was not. She's not down for this either. So i mean yeah no and it seems like the one thing that you can. Maybe say is jesse's fall is the fact that she never told gerald what happened. You know you would think however long. They were into their marriage at that point. He would've known but she still was hiding that from him. And i think that's the only like not even necessarily negative against jesse but that's definitely like the choice. She made right definitely. But i think it was. You know admitting it to gerald would be admitting to herself. And i think that this was just this horrible thing that happened but we're just going to put this in a box and we're gonna put it over here and it's going to be on our mind but we're not going to acknowledge that it's on our mind just like you know the manifestation of herself said you were already in the cuffs. Like gerald. didn't do this. You've been here. you know what i mean. What did you think of the fact that once. She kind of admitted to herself. In that bedroom she was then comfortable going and sharing her story. I think that. Like i mean like you said her never never sharing it never confronting it kind of could be considered the reason that she was in the situation that she was in and so i think she's like oh no you know i'm not going to minimize what happened to me. I'm not going to minimize myself. We're gonna stand up to my dad and to gerald into this. You know ed geene standing was visiting me. you know. She's like there's power in that and taking that back and not being ashamed of it..

"I get nervous like i get worried about it I my mom. Growing up as a huge stephen king fan and i would ask her. You know when can ivory. And she's like no you. Can't you know and when i was ten. She let me read the girl who loved gordon and it was a rap after that like all king all day. That was it for me. That was one of the first books i read too. I wanna say it was like that and green mile because we have the little the six books green my and i was like oh look at these cute little books. I'm gonna read them. And i probably didn't understand at the time. Half of what happened just increase mile. And then i read it again for this podcast. I was like oh. I missed so much as the child. I don't even know how old i would have been when i read those too and i don't remember the order because my mom had bought the books but she never finished reading them. She had bought through like wizard and glass in the mass market. Paperback size so they were like all nice and uniform shelf and i think she had made it to like pet cemetery or something like that. Maybe the talisman and so basically. Now that i've been reading all of them she's like okay. Which ones will i like. 'cause she's not into fantasy year like saifi kinda stuff. So i'm i'm just like you know listing amount and gerald's game is one that i think you don't need to be a fan of horror to read but everything that happens is very horrific. Yeah no couldn't agree more. It's it's like. I said just misery on top of misery it is straight horror. I think but objectively. Yeah they're not. Nobody's being chased by pennywise at the same time you know. Yeah there's no clowns there's no vampires. There's you know this creepy dude who israel you know and very odd strange. What have you still love a good dog though even if he eats someone you know gerald kind of deserve to hit a little bit. Yeah i'll agree there. You always have to root for the dog. Those are the rules except for cujo. While even you can talk a little bit little bit. Love a good animal appearance but you know that was kind of a running theme through the movie to that. The dog eating the meat outside and it was like. Oh that's like two hundred dollars. Pound is like wow okay fine tell us our. You are exactly weird flags but okay. Yeah yeah and it's exactly what you would expect from a character like gerald so. I love how mike flanagan was able to capture. The essence of these characters. Have the two versions of jesse and the one that's terrified and you know falling asleep because she can't stay awake. She's dehydrated and literally surviving off one cup of water. That's it and you have the fact that gerald kind of comes back to life and you're just like no. We didn't want you here stay down there. Yeah yes so obviously. I think we have come to the point where we have to talk about the hand who this is. The only seen that has disturbed me the entire time. I have been doing this podcast or out of any other horror movies or tv shows. I've watched it was just like oh here comes. Here comes out still getting chills. No it is and like. I said he's so unflinching like if she's having to d. glove her hand you're going to sit here and watch her every step of the way and it is just. I was physically squirming. Like i can't and i'm i'm a big horror person so i'm pretty desensitized but it is just oh man. It's unbelievable the gore effect on it just so so good and it held up. I was a little worried that it wasn't going to when i re watched it i was like oh. Maybe it won't look as good. And i was like nope. That still looks horrifying. No it looks so good. That you're like as carla gino. Okay like anybody's seen her hand since she this. Can we confirm. She still has one but that scene alone. I take make so much of this movie worth it because you understand. In that moment how far she's willing to go to survive exactly and this is a character like her. Her mental version of gerald said. She runs away. She takes off in her mind when things get to real but like no. She's she's here she did this. She's gonna make it out. Obviously no matter. What what i want to know is who buys a bed frame. That is that reinforced gerald. Somebody with them. I think some disturbing ideas. I don't think anybody needs needs a bed frame. That cannot be broken. I understand not wanting to break it but you know like in that situation even if the woodwork looks amazing. You're just like no. We don't want this here like get rid of it. Get rid of the whole thing and the shelf. I was like that's a little high up. Like i guess you're not putting stuff on it that you actually want to reach and the nightstands where like oddly far from the bed just like my nightstand is like reaching distance and i was like she ended up. Reach it with her leg is like i know. I know. you're not the tallest woman in the world but poorly laid out bedroom -absolutely. Yeah the point of the nightstand is to be able to have to reach from the bed. Yeah there was some design flaws here. Which one could argue. That was gerald's entire plan because he clearly likes playing games but you know still strange strange strange man like no thank you you can go yes absolutely. Get the dog back in. Yeah so i know. It's one of those movies. That's a little hard to talk about..

"Is why the value of an owner's title policy is so great do you were do you have all the paperwork that would tell you who clothes that loan for you when you originally bought the property or do you pay cash originally I currently in yes I do have a good day I see you can contact the firm that handled the closing is see what they would quote you on buying an owner's title policy and your work Gerald recommend that all over the one that your monitors it and then let those are those are different things the thing is going so heavily advertised on the web and sometimes on radio about somehow suppose a locking your title or whatever that has nothing to do with what title insurance does which is to protect you from somebody successfully challenging you're right full ownership of the property and the reason the reason I ask is there such a difference in price yeah but one of them is a very very they're both relatively remote possibilities but the need for this block service is is we have surveyed the legal real estate market and we've been told unanimously there this is not a necessary product but I can tell you that the title insurance owners title policy is where they're greater risk exists there somebody was able just to rip the home out from under you because they're able to successfully challenge the history of the change and title over the years the change in ownership that is the ultimate danger to you this.

"Sexual assault of a minor extreme gore listener discretion is advised boy yourself and other coffee deer. And if you've got a bottle of brandy handy you may WANNA doctor it up a little bit. It's the Stephen King Boo new club. Pisa Space Cowboy. He's a gangster of love. Now go ahead. I'll be okay all right here. We go all right yeah. I can't the inside stuff. Stay inside body outside stuff. Stay outside body. Did you see that kind of words. I'm Steven Indra. Sano in Dime Phoenix corrupt. And this week we're reading Gerald's game or Garold Game Gerald's game Gerald's Jayme. Gerald Gerald J am published in Nineteen Ninety two Phoenix one to take us to the endpoints. Jessie burlingame and her hotshot lawyer husband Gerald go to their Lake House in Maine for an impromptu October getaway away. Gerald's plan is to play a sex game with Jesse where he handcuffs her to the bedposts she decides after being chained up that she doesn't want to play the game in jail decides to rape her. She fights back though in the kicks to deliver his to his groin and chest set off a heart attack in Gerald dies on the floor uh No one is around. Jesse is totally alone. The lake this time of year and she is chained up in such a way that escape is seemingly impossible. As the peace progresses Jesse deals with physical and emotional stress as well as her past she reflects on her unhappy marriage and sex lights that led to this moment. A series of flashbacks is revealed. That Jesse was once molested by her father during the solar eclipse and manipulated into keeping it a secret for thirty years. She she thinks about how perhaps her relationship with her father led to her relationship. Gerald she also involuntarily remembers her brother goosing her or pinching her but at a birthday party has kids that how that re aggravated her sexual trauma throughout Jesse's life and now more than ever she hears voices talking to her. She's not schizophrenic. By her internal Oh no mile log takes on many forms including her college roommate. Ruth her therapist Norah her mother Pumpkin her child self an oppressed housewife version version for self called good wife rebellious version of herself. That appears only at the end in various. UFO's were Jesus to describe voices from her distant past. A stray dog enters and feeds on Gerald's corpse. She's able to get a drink of water from a glass on overhead shelf using a rolled up magazine insert as a Straw Straw. She is of course incontinent and her body begins to degrade two nights in at the height of her exhaustion. She sees an apparition of tall misshapen men who to her represents both father and death itself surely it is a hallucination does not treat it as such she is terrified and pleads with the silent being and after trying several methods of freeing herself to no avail her child voice. Pumpkin tells her to use the glass to cut her wrists and dig love one of her hands. She does so and frees herself using the Kiama bureau then terrified of the man. She skips the phone in drives into town. where she is is found nearly dead at the general store several surgeries and several months? Later Jesse is writing a letter in it. She describes her sexual assaults in her ordeal. She also describes how one of Gerald's voyeur colleagues helped her keep the press quiet and deal with the various problems that arose after the incident part of this included a discovery that tall man is not an apparition but an actual serial killer and NECROPHILIAC. Who've been trolling the empty camps? A man with Akron Meghan the chose not to kill her because of his preference for men as victims she shows up to his trial spits on him and moves on with her life. Let's take it to full dark. No structure all right. Y'All so few things she sang. Let's just just got what's Ping Pong you go. I I got this book handed to me in Pre Algebra in eighth grade by Michael Blake. It was my gos- Michael Michael Blake. Hey this too early Mike what you doing. It was being passed around by grade as an illicit contraband book valid. And that's the first time that I read this book. That's a whole can of worms that I'm not going to open up Y'all this might be my favorite Steven King Book. I know that's a big statement but I mean literally. I know this is cliche. I laughed. I cried I like cheered out loud And I also almost fainted. I literally texted Phoenix during the gloving. See and I was like I don't feel so good and he's like sit down absolutely. Yeah I mean this book is this book is wild. It's I I like sat like read half of the D. gloving scene and then I had to do a few pseudo coups dart back in working order Sudoku I don't know if you knew or the opposite of horror it's the precise other ended the compass. I've never done this to go in my life. I find it very relaxing. Lindsey Krause has a great audible reading. That's next point is I was reading. I didn't listen to an audio book version of this but I remember birth thinking like man. Whoever reads this audio book has to do a bang up job? Oh which actually leads me to my next full Arcnord structure structure that we won't get to talk about anywhere else I process a lot of my thoughts the same way that Jesse main character does where I process In like voices voices in my head. So I have recognizable there on me right. But there's definitely like one voice who's an asshole and usually if that voices talking. I'm like shut up asshole. I didn't know that. Yeah yeah and I don't. I didn't know that other people thought this way until I like read this book and I was like thank God. I think there's how Stephen King things I think. He has multiple voices in his head. I have one voice that says nothing and just shows me the projections of pictures of things. He's like my personal project. No good way to tiger about internal pot without sounding like a crazy person. It's impossible one hundred hundred in the one hundred percent impossible you would else sounds like crazy. People the darks course Sun worshippers NAM. Yeah yeah so like. That's what they call themselves. The people who are going to see the eclipse in this book and I want that to be my new band named dark score Sun worshippers dope name. Am there's a lot of really solid writing in this book. And if you are ready I am ready to go to sweet. Screens are best of section..
