He actually spells it d. e. l. space our show and he says it was a hassle to vote as a result the juicy waiter to disclose that. But but let me let me get you this on March twenty third Dr del Rio was quoted in the AJC saying we need. Governor Kip to act now. The point of no return for Georgia is rapidly closing to prevent catastrophe in the healthcare system. Due to cove in one thousand nine we need for him to shut. Georgia down now and that is del Rio's position. The governor is not doing enough that he needs to shut the whole state down. Now Mind You on March Tenth Dr Rio said I think while I have the best interest of public health at hand you also have to think of economic consequences in you have to not discard those. He was advising Savannah on March tenth. That if they wanted to keep the Mardi gras or not the girl they wanted to the Saint Patrick's Day parade going. Keep the Saint Patrick's Day parade going for one thing. This is the J. C. Now for one thing. He said it's an open. Arabic for another Savannah has no cases yet the nearest diagnoses were still two hundred miles away as of Tuesday. If you want to be absolutely airtight. Don't have the event I think while I have the best interest of public health that he and you also have to think of economic consequences and you have not discard those del. Rio said now on his phone call with the Georgia Municipal Association. Del Rio said he wasn't so much concerned about rural areas of the state as he was urban areas of the state. And that's a position that allying completely with I wanNA play you some of the audio from this call so you get a sense of this. I WanNa Begin at the five minute mark in this call and you're going to hear me skipping through the call. Let me go to the five minute mark and listen to the scenario outlined by Dr del Rio to the Georgia Municipal Association on what we can expect in terms of fatalities cases. We're going to be have about one. Hundred fifty four thousand hospitals season about seventy seven thousand ice cubes used in about fifty thousand.

"Hancock Putnam Glass Cock scriven. Nobody may even living scrubbing kidding kidding. Emanuel County Wilkinson County Crawford County. Marion County Webster County. Stewart County Quin County Grady County Echoes County Atkinson County Linear County Wilcox County. Jeff Davis County Wayne County and and Brantley county those counties have no corona virus cases at all Also yeah I mentioned Evans County Intrude Lynn County. They don't have any cove nineteen cases. Now that may change at noon today. They may update Increasingly it looks like most counties but there will be a few counties that don't and there was a recorded phone call and I've got the Audio I wanNA play you. Parts of it of a doctor from emory university. Dr Del Rio who painted a scenario of twenty seven thousand deaths in Georgia and it got the Georgia Municipal Association spooked enough that these guys are screaming for Brian. Kemp to save them from themselves and shut down the entire state but the doctor himself said in the interview that he wasn't really concerned about rural parts of Georgia he was concerned about places like Augusta and Columbus and Savannah in Albany and Atlanta and Athens. And I WANNA play you parts of audio and I'm going to get to it later when we come back though. I WANNA get into one the Kennedy Center situation and also the pastors and the churches that are affected. You know there. There's a pastor down in Florida who's gone to jail for having a church service and believe it or not. Yes my friends. There's a tiger king connection off. I started what? Y'All I don't even know what I'm watching but oh my goodness gracious i. This is insane I have. It's a forty. There are seven forty. Five minute episodes. I am not even through the first one. I started a little bit last night in the realize what time it was but it is the most insane thing I have ever seen. And I'm I'm like twenty thirty minutes into a forty five minute episode and this thing is crazy crazy but I promised I'd start watching it. I didn't realize there were a bunch episode though. I thought it was one big documentary. I'm getting into it. We'll discuss that as well. But there is a tiger king connection when we come back. Hello and welcome it. Is Eric Erickson here across the state of Georgia? Thank you for joining me the phone number if you would like to.

"Morgan Taylor Wheeler White and Wilkes and we got two hundred twenty six in unknown counties of residents that is the current audit for the state of Georgia. There are still some counties that have not had it and this is leading to some controversy out there. I do not know Dr del Rio. Dr Del Rio is at emory university. And Dr del Rio is out there. Saying we all need to be on a lockdown. It needs to be a complete lockdown. The governor's not doing his job and we're all going to die and this has led to some grumblings by the governor's office and I have to tell you. I think Dr del Rio is doing everyone a disservice. He has become the guy. The media goes to to report that Brian. Kemp is doing it all wrong. And we're going to be a disaster in Georgia and we're all GonNa die now. He's not actually saying that but by and large is suggesting that Things are going to go very badly here in Georgia. Because the governor's not willing to shut down the state if you text the word data to three three seven seven seven. You're going to get you're going to get back a link to mine newsletter that I'm doing it. A site called sub stack and it has relevant links virus tracking so you can get a sense of the spread in Georgia. The spread nationally the spread globally projections. State-by-state projections The stimulus plan. You can get lots of links on the stimulus plan. How how it will affect you. The Chamber of Commerce has a great primer. If you're a small business or an independent contractor or self employed if your business is less than five hundred people you need to text data to three three seven seven seven and there are two links one from Senator Rubio Office and one from the Chamber of Commerce explaining how to apply and a link to the small business administration disaster loan page so that you can apply. You could also starting later this week. Go through your bank You need to text dated three three seven seven seven to get that. There's also a handy link to how each state is dealing with the lockdown including county by county here in Georgia. The New York. Times is covering that. And just so you know. Let me go. Do this for you In Georgia it is a hodgepodge. Atlanta has shelter in place. Blakely County has shelter in place. Carrollton has shelter in place. Savannah has shoulder. Blades Clarke County has shoulder blades and dougherty county has shelter in place Areas around the state. They're changing in. This is the New York Times. We'll keep this up to date. There are new ones Georgia for example bid county where I am does not have shelter in place but has Basically ordered closed all non essential services by the way. I was at Lowe's on Saturday. If you're familiar with making up on Zeppelin road. There's a lows with the place was packed. It was impossible to keep six feet from everyone else. Meanwhile I went where I went to a fedex. I had to ship a package on Sunday. I shipped it and IT FEDEX. They were limiting. Only ten people could be in the store at a time and and they were kicking people out of the store making people stay six feet apart. real she just complete difference in how individual locations were doing things. But now I want to get back to all this with with Dr Del Rio so there is a website. And if you text data to three three seven seven seven you'll be able to get to it and it has projections of win. We're going to see the peak of the virus in the nation and you can do it by the United States as a whole or you can do it by state and so let me go to Georgia so you get a sense of it in Georgia. It says that we're twenty two days until the Peak April twenty second will be the peak and what they predict is that there will need to be eight thousand nine hundred sixteen hospital beds. George only has eight thousand dollars or twenty two beds so there will be a bed shortage of five hundred ninety four beds. They predict that we will need one thousand three hundred forty four. Icu bids there are only five hundred eighty nine ICU beds available so we will be short. Seven hundred fifty five now. This is modeling and I don't WANNA I don't WanNA knock the modeling. I don't WanNA knock the the data but the model is not necessarily reality now. What they're doing is they're essentially saying. Well the governor is not forcing everyone to shelter in place as a result. This is what's going to happen. Well the governor is not doing it but most people are anyway and so the projection versus reality are not the same thing. Well you've got Dr del Rio from emory university. Who is not on the governor's Task Force? The governor is on a regular basis. Hush Siri the governor is on a regular basis in contact with the Disaster Preparedness Team at the University of Georgia. He has doctor to me. And the Georgia Department of Public Health. He's got to. He's in regular contact with the the White House team and he's in contact with all these other economic and medical advisers around the state and the governor's team disagrees with Dr del Rio. But Dr del Rio at at Emory is preparing these nightmare scenarios of of loss of life. And collapse in the state. And what we're going to do and the Georgia The Georgia Municipal Association has been trotting him out to have briefings for local municipalities. He's freaked out a bunch of local municipalities and as a result there are municipalities around the State. That have ramped up efforts to shut everything down. Some of that is good. Some of that has gone. Overboard in the governor's team has expressed a little bit of frustration that they have all of these experts all of these experts who are telling them what to do. The governor is way you know. Brian does not wake up in the morning and say by God. I'm the expert here and this is what we're going to do today because I know everything doesn't do that no governor. The president doesn't do that. Nobody does that and there seems to be this perception. By and large a lot of it is the Atlanta Journal Constitution. You should understand is doing this. And they're not going and talking they're not having regular conversations to they're not talking to the Zest Da- disaster-preparedness people. Why are they not talking to all? Those people are relying on this one guy at emory. Who is convinced that disaster is upon us? And the governor's not listen to that guy and that's what makes it agri. Why are they talking to the people? The governor's listening to because it's not like the governor's waking up saying hey you know what all of these people are telling me to shut down the state and I think they're wrong because I'm an expert. No the governor's actually listening to the medical and economic experts together. And he's doing the leaderly thing of balancing the opinions of what can we do and he's relying right now specifically of the public health people who are advising him and if the public health officials came out today and said we need to shelter in place the entire state. I do believe the governor would do that. And they're not telling him that but because this is the the media talking point of the California's doing it in New York is doing it. Why isn't Georgia doing it? And they're trying to drive up some country. They're not actually reporting. Why is the Governor Dewey? This now now they'll say well it's it's it's economic and the governor doesn't want to shut down parts of the state and far reaching consequences for rural parts of the state and the disaster that might befall them The they'll do that but they won't actually say hey. You know. The governor's not just doing this. Willy Nilly he actually is talking to experts. He is talking to healthcare. Experts in the healthcare experts are telling the governor. He does not need to lock down the entire state. They're telling him based on current projections in the state. They do believe they'll be able to accommodate all the people they do believe they'll have it of ICU. Hospital space that they're actually looking at projections that tell them they'll be able to do it now. There are these other projections there that others are participating in painting the more nightmare scenario that for example on April Eighteen nineteen twenty twenty one. Twenty two twenty three twenty four twenty five twenty six twenty seven and twenty eight so from the eight th to the twenty eighth Georgia will exceed the available hospital space and that we will for a longer time from the fourth to May first exceed the number of ice. You bids needed that. Those are the projections but we have reality and the projections and reality at some point need to be combined and if you talk to the governor's office in the governor's healthcare experts with the governor's office and the governor's healthcare experts say is we have the real world data now that should be used to adjust the models and the models and the real world are not lining up and so we need to adjust the models to reality. This is very much like the global warming. Crowd that for years insisted. New York City would be underwater by two thousand eighteen. We're now in twenty twenty minutes. Not and they haven't adjusted in either models. They just keep pushing off the date. That's essentially what some of the models are doing. They have invested by faith in the model such that reality no longer ways into the model. The MODEL has become their reality as opposed to reality dictating adjustments to the model. And that's a problem. And so when the media goes out the media wants to consider all sides into the media not just going to the experts. The governor's relied say. Hey why is the governor doing this? Well he's not doing it. Because some parts of the state are impacted by the virus or those people have mild cases and they could just shelter place themselves. And we don't need to impact the entire county. No no they're going to one guy at emory. Who is the guy who screaming that? We're all GonNa die and giving that guy expert status and they're ignoring the disaster team that the governor's consulting with the University of Georgia. They're ignoring the Department of Public Health experts. They're ignoring Dr to me there nor in all of these people. They're ignoring the fact that the governor talks regularly to the White House team and they get guidance from there. They're all that is very much like Dr Burks. Who is the president's adviser who came out the other day and praised the president's willingness to entertain diverse thoughts and accept the scientific information to be guided by and the media has been savaging her believe all women except for woman who says something. Nice about the president. Believe all the experts except for the expert who says something. Nice about the president. That's where we are with the media and it has infected local journalism Georgia as well. Y'All do you really believe that if the public health experts went to the governor today it said Governor if we don't shut the whole state down way more people are going to die and not only that we're going to overtax beds and people who need healthcare beyond the virus aren't going to get it? Do you really believe that. Our governor such a cold hearted sob that if he heard public health experts say that he wouldn't respond. Do you really believe that I mean if you do there something broken in you not in the governor and yet that is the position by some people in the media tour drumming up fear around the state that the governor is in over his head and he's not listening. Experts actually know. The governor's listening to all of the experts except for the one guy screaming that the sky is falling but the media is so convinced. The Sky is falling in that. The projections are right. Not Reality is right that they're willing to give that man inordinate amounts of latitude to say. The Sky is falling. Scare everyone and say the governor is not doing what this one guy wants if the governor was doing with this one guy wanted and all the healthcare experts at disaster-preparedness experts of the were saying otherwise. What do you think the media would do because actually what the governor is doing is he's listening to all the healthcare experts and the disaster preparedness experts instead of this one guy and the media is outraged by that the media continues time and time again to construct these situations where you can't win against them? You're damned if you do. And you're damned if you don't and what the governor is trying to do is actually steer the state without ruining parts of the state that run impacted by the virus. I really have to get back to the recipes. Just been so bogged down with getting everybody. The Cova nineteen information. I will tell you of this weekend. I started a sour dough starter. And I'll tell you how it turns out if it turns out. Well I'm using the King Arthur raspy I'll send you. I'll singer links I now. I gotTA figure out how to make sour dough bread. We'll get there eventually. We will get there eventually So is speaking of people taking this seriously and not you know there. There's this media panic about governor camp in Georgia and what? He's or not doing what he should do or shouldn't do meanwhile back at the ranch Picture went viral. This weekend of the beltline the Atlanta beltline and it The hit the Atlanta beltline had a massive crowd a huge crowd So you know Mayor Kisha Lands Bottoms in Atlanta has not closed the Bella I should say for those of you who never venture to Atlanta. The beltline is a railroad track that wound through the city that was shut down and they have converted into a very nice walking trail that winds the city. And it's a beautiful beautiful trail. It's a wonderful wonderful place to walk. I really enjoy it but What I do is is when I get to Atlanta. Sometimes you know so when I'm in my office Atlanta WSB which is in between buckhead and midtown right right there at Seventeenth Street. The Atlanta Botanical Gardens are very near there and I'll walk sometimes just to get exercise and get out of the office..

"I WanNa take you through if I can now as I've been tried to do every day. The Audit County by county audit of how the virus is spreading in the state. Right now there are one thousand. Three hundred eighty seven cases four hundred thirty eight hospitalizations in forty seven deaths in the state. The mortality rate than is three point four percent which is hovering around the global average right now of known cases and again Doctor Fallacy from the National Institutes of Health and others believed that the actual mortality rate is probably one percent not three percent. Because do believe that more people are getting it and I know there are people. I've actually encountered an angry guy this morning on facebook of all things. Well how do they know how? How do they know it's not the same flu like the flu? How do they know it's not a tenth of percent? Why are they one percent will? They're the experts but now this guy doesn't trust the experts because he doesn't trust anybody except Internet memes from his friends And I get that and I know there are a lot of people out there who you've got Dr Vouchers Eight. Hey It's actually not as bad as the global average but it's worse than the flu. So how are they getting that? Well one of the ways. They're getting it from several. As one of the ways is they're taking all the people who have flu like symptoms but don't have the flu. They tested negative for the flu. But they have all the flu like symptoms and they're tracking those people as well and how those people are dying and that's one of the reasons that they believe. It's one percent the presumption right now. Is that if you are testing? Negative for the flu and you have the flu like symptoms. You probably have this And so they're putting that in in in other sampling in there to to get a better picture in it still about a one percent mortality of people who get it which is ten times higher than the seasonal flu which is why they want everybody to be locked down for a few weeks to slow the spread now Where are we here? We've got a sixty per sixty one. Percent of the cases in Georgia are fifty nine years old or younger and thirty six percent or sixty years old and older fifty percent of the people who have at our female fifty forty eight percent male two percent. We're not sure we don't know about the other fifty-seven genders haven't gotten that data yet. Now here here are the numbers right now. This has actually gone up. Looks like they have since the last time pulled it up. Maybe they've revised and I'm not sure two hundred four cases in Fulton hundred twenty-five cab hundred twenty-three in one. Oh nine in Cobb eighty-two Bartos sixty nine fifty and carol thirty six in Cherokee Twenty nine and Clayton twenty-five and Lee Twenty one in Clark Twenty and Henry Nineteen in whole eighteen in Douglas Fourteen and floyd twelve and Fayette old twelve in lowndes tin in Columbia Coweta and I sight Richmond. Rockdale exporting counties. Nine in Gordon Polk counties aid in Newton County seven in Chatham Lawrence and Troup County six in Bibb early house to know Coney Paul Ding counties five in Glen Peach Sumpter in tift counties. Four in Mitchell Muskogee pickens terrel and Whitfield counties three in Baker Brian Butts Crisp effingham Lamar Lumpkin Monroe and worth counties two in Baldwin Barrow. Coffee Call quit Irwin. Jasper Madison Miller similar twigs and Washington counties and one in each of these been hill. Burke Camden Catava Charlton to clinch Dawson. Decatur Dodge fanning green harass. Her Jackson Jones Liberty Lincoln. Long making meriwether Morgan Pierce Pulaski Randolph. Stevens Tattenham Taylor. Thomas Turner Wear White and Wilkins County and one hundred sixty in counties of unknown origin. That the that is your current audit in the state of Georgia. Now there is some data that has been released in the state. Where is this Email I got here we go. This is in the Atlanta Journal Constitution and the headline is what Georgia's mayors and county leaders were told about the pandemic. You need to know it to on Tuesday. We told you that the Georgia Municipal Association had recommended that all five hundred thirty eight cities in the state declare public health emergencies in an effort to ramp down the curl. Virus Pandemic Jima did so because a Monday afternoon online presentation by Dr Carlos. Del Rio the executive. Associate Dean for Imrie at Grady Health System aimed at mayors city. Managers County Commission chairs and county managers. They've got the audio that you can hear of the presentation but the L. O. Walo look at this. They're actually calling it the Wuhan pneumonia in this presentation. My Goodness Gracious So it is. I'm reading from the slide here now. they're showing the progression. They're showing the cases and now they're showing the estimates Now the the headline here that you need to know is if no aggressive intervention is done if no aggressive intervention is done what they suggest is that if they use the mid range estimates in Georgia the mid range estimates in Georgia will be a thousand sixty two deaths and the high range would be twenty seven thousand six hundred five deaths the majority those sixty five and up. But here's the problem. This is the problem if you do a mid range estimate of people getting it. You've got ten thousand six hundred seventeen people hospitalized if no intervention is done at all you have two hundred seventy six thousand fifty three people in the hospital. That's the problem is because we're going to overwhelm hospitals. If there are th- this predicted outcome after three months. If there's no action at all two hundred eleven thousand deaths if you do show social distancing one hundred fifty eight thousand deaths if you shelter in place six thousand deaths and if you complete Wuhan style lockdown. No one's out allowed out of their house at all. It is less than a thousand people. The problem here of course is that we're not going to do this now. You should also know that This doctor has been one of the most vocal opponents of what the governor's doing the governor is listening to the health experts including Dr to me at the Georgia Department of Public Health. And this doctor is not there Dr Carlos del Rio He is the Dean Imrie. And he is is Hyper aggressively critical of the governor's handling of this audio. And He is who the media is going to beat up the governor all cases and he essentially wants to the whole state In in an absolute lockdown and I don't think we're going to see that in the state now I do think that in areas like Atlanta and Albany and even Bartow County. We probably do need a complete lockdown. The governor's leaving local officials. And I gotTa tell you give the numbers in Barda county the number of deaths in Arto county from this You would think that the county commission there which shut the place down. But they haven't embarked on their eighty two cases right now in a good number of those people have died in Bartow county but then in Fulton County Fulton to cab and Cobb county. You've got over four hundred cases and they have it locked down those counties the city of Atlanta's lockdown but Fulton's not you would think that the county commissions would engage at that level and they have it And they keep passing the buck to the governor white. Why why must the governor shut the entire state down as opposed to letting these counties do the right thing I i? It boggles my mind that these counties will you can't do anything on the governor. The Governor's tells them if you WanNa shut down shut down and yet they're trying to pass the why is it that they're Democratic County Commissions? And they're hoping to blame. The governor is is. Is that part of it because there are a lot of Democrats? You know the governor's GonNa do a town hall tonight statewide. The Democrats are trying to turn it into a partisan of it to attack the governor over his handling of this which is crazy now. Let's go to the phones. Eight seven seven nine seven Eric. Eight seven seven nine seven three seven four to five John Colin from Rome. How are you? I'm doing great? How are you sir? Good what's going on? I was listening to your show. And what you're doing and had just two quick points I wanted to share with you. one I think we should change the calling social distancing to calling physical distancing. I know that sounds like I'm trying to be politically correct. But we really don't need to be socially distancing people.

"Other states including several Georgia's neighbors who have announced restrictions system. The spread of the disease camp empowered by an unprecedented public health. Emergency DECLARATION TO TAKE. Similar steps has drawn sharp criticism for reduce for refusing to do so. He's not showing a bit of leadership and he's passing the buck down. The line said George BASCO the executive director of rise and dine an emry village eatery that closed Sunday. I'm appalled at the guy because there are literally hundreds of bars and restaurants. Open and staffers are telling me they're scared they don't feel safe. Being there there echoed by some Georgia Democrats who pointed guidance from the CDC to avoid gatherings of ten or more in the past few days. Florida shutdown bars and nightclubs for thirty days. North Carolina ordered all restaurants too close for Dine in customers and leaders in Connecticut New Jersey New York. Shuttered movie theaters gyms in casinos in a regional efforts to stem the outbreak. In other parts of the state where corona virus cases have yet surfaced local business owners and city officials are more reluctant to urge kept to reverse course Catherine would the manager of Miss Janes restaurant one of the only died in eateries in Warrenton Georgia. Where there's no Viruses confirmed shutdown. Even temporarily would force would and five other restaurant employees out of work. One of our employees has five children and two other income. It's GonNa really hurt a small business. I hope the governor holds off. I'd hate to see them. Close down. It would hurt a lot of people in the small town but I feel like it's going to happen before long and I don't know what we're GonNa do Mayor Phil Best of Dublin. A city of sixteen thousand known cases of the virus ticked off the precautions. His community was taken city halls close to the public restaurants limited orders to curbside pickup. Most restaurants are live streaming for the time being fine like that. I've got full confidence. The way the governor's handling it. He's a real estate agent. He's the president of the Georgia Municipal Association. I'm a big believer in local rule at. That's where it comes down to with the governor. Let me give you. The current audit trail now for the state of Georgia is going to be updated at noon. So the current does not have the cases In Peach and Bibb County at noon it will be updated to reflect that. And we're going to start seeing a big spike in the cases in Georgia but right now We have in Whitfield County one in Gordon County three cases in Rome. We've got six cases in Bartow County nineteen cases in Cherokee County nine in forsyth county to in Hall County. We've got three in Clark County five one in Barrow. County seven in Gwinnett county forty nine in Fulton County Twenty eight in Cobb county to pull upholding county one in polk county to in Troup County three in Coweta county eight in Fayette County six Clayton County to in Henry County No more in Rockdale County. They moved that person. Three in Newton County one in Halston county one embiid county one in Peach County to in Lee County seven in Darty county five in Lowndes County in one in Charleston County. That's what we have and there are parts of Georgia that haven't been affected at all their parts of rule. Georgia that hasn't been affected at all and the governor's view on this in Georgia is that people should stop congregating. People should stop going to restaurants. People should stop going to bars. People should not go to movie theaters. People do not need to go to nursing homes and people do not need to go into churches have livestream church. You know so. I've been told that my church one of the things. They're thinking of doing if they can pull it off is Dr in Church now. How would that work? You know how you go through Christmas lights in places and you can tune to an FM channel and everybody here the music together. Everybody here the Christmas music together. What they're thinking of doing is getting everybody in the parking lot with their cars and doing an FM transmitter. So the preacher can be upfront and have the sermon and people could just be in their cars for the worship service. So you're still together. You still got community. But you're in your cars Minimizing your contact with with everybody else which I think is actually a pretty cool idea. Everybody's still going to church. You're still in the habit of going to church Put a bucket out Where people can throw so their money in Jackson for tithing. But you still have church. It's parking lot church. It's drive drive in movie theater church. I think that's an awesome idea. But the governor unlike descent is in Florida that only acted under pressure and otherwise hasn't done a lot or the governor of Ohio. Who has done a gone overboard? Some people think the governor Georgia is essentially urging people to do the right thing without demanding. They do it. And I've gotTa tell you I think it's the right. Approach a free people who were unwilling to do the right thing unless the government compels them will not for long be willing to do the right thing after government compels them a people who refuse to quarantine unless Ankle Sam or or or big government or Brian. Kemp says you've got a quarantine they're not gonNa do it for long and this is going to be based on what all the experts are. Thus far saying a longer term situation than a lot of people want so the governor having a having the approach of. Here's what you need to be doing. And going out there every day and telling them to do it and encouraging restaurants to close down in leading the mayors and county commissions of areas. Do what they need to do. I guess more in Clark County. They put in a voluntary curfew. They make it mandatory there a couple of other counties in Georgia. They're looking at mandatory curfews. There are counties Georgia there cities in Georgia where they are limiting restaurants The mayor of Atlanta is essentially closing restaurants to indoor service. A lot of restaurant owners are doing the right thing and shutting down. Some restaurant owners aren't doing but I just I I find it funny and I don't mean to pick on this person Look at this person. In George BASCO the executive director of rising dine in Emory village. Eatery that closed on Sunday. He's not showing a bit of leadership and he's passing the buck down the line. I'm appalled at the guy because there are literally hundreds of bars and restaurants. Open and staffers are telling me they're scared. They don't feel safe being there. This guy closed his business and he's mad that the governor won't close all the other businesses and he says that he's upset. Staffers are scared. So you know what I'm hearing from. The restaurant industry is that employees are mad that they're being put out of work and they're willing to take their chances because of the income And here's this guy. Exactly the opposite of what everyone else in the industry saying in part of me wonders what I assume. If he's Emrah village he probably didn't vote for the governor to begin with and to He's probably upset that that he's closed down at other wrestlers except in that area by and large everybody's closed down there to go service and he's not even doing to go service and I don't mean to pick him out of that but but it it's it's a rather selfish thing. I think for him to decide that every other business in the state needs to be shut down because he shut his business down and the governor should make everyone do it I think at some point government's got to know its place and I think the governor is doing the right thing by telling people. Here's what you need to do but I'm not yet going to crack my whip on you in and I'm going to see if you do it yourself. I don't want the governor to. I don't want him to have this power. And the governor himself does not want to use the power that he's been given he asked for the power in case he needs to use it and he doesn't want to use it. Real leadership is not using the power that you could use an instead asking people to do the right thing themselves. Real leadership is calling on the people to be their best selves instead of forcing them by government. Fiat to do what you want him to do. And that's what campus doing and I think it's the right thing to do. And it's a very difficult balance because if it spreads he's going to get attacked for not being a dictator but if it doesn't spread if we're able to contain it because people do the right thing then he's positioned himself perfectly but then there's the other thing here as well and I think this is where the governor is right and this is why I fall down on his side on this. There are people who say we're GONNA have to do this until July. I am one of the first people I know in talk. Radio who has said repeatedly since January. We gotta pay attention to this. It hadn't happened here yet but it might and then it happened here. This is going to be serious. We need to take action. Stopped downplaying it. I've been blown up in criticized by friends. I've been blown up in criticized by by people who support the president who thought it was overplaying it. I've been blown criticized by colleagues of Mine Talk Radio and here. We are. Everything I said is happening. We'll let me tell you this. There is not an American living under the age of sixty. I think who's GonNa be willing to lock themselves in their house until July. I don't believe people are gonNA go stir crazy. They're going to want to be back out in society. We are communal creatures by nature. We're going to start congregating again in a matter of weeks and that may cause the virus to spread again. I just I think we're GONNA have to go with the South Korean model now. What is the South Korean model? I think we're probably about to see a big shift in this country towards the South Korean model and a lot of public health experts are saying in lieu of people being unable to contain themselves. We need to do that and it wouldn't surprise me if the governor's GonNa hit in that direction. I think he's doing the right thing. I understand the I understand the media. I understand the sentiment from the press but I also understand. The governor's right people need to be willing to do the right thing without him demanding it but he will. He told me in my interview. He will if people don't do what they need to do. The phone number here is eight. Seven seven nine seven Eric. Eight seven seven nine seven three seven four to five. Havi in Athens go to you next. Welcome to the program. Hey Good morning. Eric I just had a two questions so why was the US? A Solo backed up in testing. And all that and I was just pondering on this past week or so and just thinking if our testing would have been on point like South Korea was I think we could have been ahead of the curve. Quarantine the right people just been ahead of the curve and so many things and I don't think we you know if we would have been ahead of intesting we could have been ahead on so many things where we wouldn't have to take the measures that we're taking now and so. I just wanted to know your thoughts on the whole listening and this is the president is getting beat up for this is not his fault an end. Dr Pfau chief has pointed out. It's it's not the president's fault here. This is the the the bureaucracy and it is not fair to beat up the president over the delay in testing the the CDC in the federal bureaucracy would not authorized private lab tests. The insisted that only they could do the tests in the initial tests that they developed Had A reagents in it that was flawed and didn't quite work and they had to Redo it and they were slow to roll out tests. It was only when the president got involved in the vice president got involved that they forced the federal bureaucracy to allow private labs to develop their own test and the FDA expedited those tests. This has nothing to do with the government or has nothing to do with. The president has everything to do with the bureaucracy of the federal government. Which is a reason why We should be careful in letting the government have even more control over our healthcare in this country. It's a real real problem. They screwed it up. The president gets the blame. Because he's the commander in chief but you know Barack Obama was president They would not blame him that the FDA the bureaucracy would have done the same thing but the media would not be blaming Obama in the way they're blaming trump now. What is South Korea doing? Because I think this is the model of the governor. I think wants to head to and that is Wholesaled nationwide testing or in this case wholesale statewide testing. Everybody gets a test. If you test negative you go about Your Business. You test positive. You have to be quarantined and get another test Later everybody in your household has to be quarantined with you And that's what South Korea has been doing. They're doing nationwide testing in South Korea. Everybody gets a test. You have to stay home A lot of people they tested only if they have symptoms but they get tested once they have symptoms and everyone they've come into contact with is is quarantined it has to be tested and the full weight of the government comes down on them to make sure their quarantine and that's what. South Korea doing and the result is south. Korea has gotten a handle on this fairly quickly. Now we are ramping up nationwide testing in the country and as we are ramping up nationwide testing. I suspect we're going to go to that model. The South Koreans are making people wear masks in public. And they're making people take tests and just like you have to take the census they're almost bigoted mandatory. You gotta take the test and if you take the test and it's clear you go about your business you take the test and it comes back positive for the virus Whether it's a false positive a real positive you go into quarantine for two weeks and then you can take the test again and if it's negative you come out but everybody your family's gotTa be quarantined with you if they live in the same house with you and what they're doing in South Korea is. You're not allowed lose your job. You're not allowed to have financial penalty in Your Life. while you're in quarantine to incentivize you to stay home and not feel obligated to go work It's not a bad solution..
