Britt Lyle II on design

"Your host Maris cherry and this week. I'm talking with Britt Lyle the second a Motion Graphics designer here in Atlanta, Georgia. Let's start the show. All right. So tell us who you are and what you do. My name is Britt Lyle. I am a motion graphic designer. I'm a graphics assistant at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Now, I've been asking everyone, you know kind of starting off for these interviews how they're sort of holding up right now, you know, we're recording this right now in late September. It's pretty easy. I think well known that we're going to be in the states for a while. Now, how have you been holding up during this pandemic? Oh, wow, there have been like there been good days and bad days. I've been holding up generally well, but like there have been, you know good days and bad days. Like I said I tend to deal with anxiety sometimes so that has been kind of a struggle wage. Kind of cope with along with like just regular anxiety Then the election and covid-19. Like one of the things I learned in grad school is like you have to take time to for yourself, especially in stressful situations. And this entire year has just been one big stressful situation off. So it's very very important to like make yourself as comfortable as possible. Especially someone who like regularly deals with anxiety and off. Yeah, so I just basically just tried to make sure that if I feel like in some type of anxiety attack coming that I make sure to remove myself from the situation and ground myself before coming back to reality so to speak gotcha. Now let's talk about your work at sports and entertainment and can you kind of briefly describe what a MB sports and entertainment is and just sort of what is a regular day like for you right now since you're working from home, so am be Sports entertainment. We are sort of like a company within a company job. We do work for the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United. My job specifically is Graphics assistant. So basically that means I help out anyone else you need help with any other big project whether it's coming up with Gameday Graphics video editing color correction or any other regular or irregular occurrence. I might occur to you today. How did you get started there on a whim a lot of a lot of the jobs that I've gotten in particularly designed jobs of Applied on a whim. So I was laid off at my previous job, which I was very very sad about and I was just applying applying everywhere that I can and I saw the post for graphics assistant at a MB. And again, it was one of those things for me. It's like I can't in good conscience past this up and say Thursday. I tried everything that I could so I apply thinking that like I wouldn't hear anything and they turned out to be one of the few people that actually gave me like like three rounds of interviews and hired me within like a month. Nice. Yeah, so you mentioned, you know kind of working on these, you know, not random projects, but you kind of work on an ad-hoc basis as an assistance. So are there any sort wage projects that you like take the lead on or you always kind of working in that second kind of capacity mostly in a secondary capacity because there are people who have been there since the building open since as soon as construction ended they hired a design team and those and some of those people have left but there are still some people have been there since its Inception and they kind of know they build out the process. They're the ones who really like all the assignments all of the the dimensions birth. All the renders all of these little details. They're the ones who built it from the ground up and I'm essentially follow the process. I'll give my two cents every now and then if I feel like it'll help but for the most part they have pretty much have like a game plan laid out for how certain things are done and how certain things are processed. And so, you know, just so folks name Mercedes-Benz stadium in Atlanta is fairly new. I think it was opened and what 2018-2017 2017-2017? Okay, and then prior to that it not in the same space, but pretty close to it was the Georgia Dome that's where I used to work actually years and years and years and years ago. I worked for the Georgia Dome the the Georgia World Congress Center and since Olympic Park, so I'm familiar with that whole kind of campus area and I know back then I mean Georgia Dome all that is owned by the state, but Mercedes-Benz is privately owned. Do you know if off? Any of the the Congress Center staff works there also since it's so close not intimately like I think some people transferred but I mean as far as I know most people have been there since MBS was a thing. I'm not sure if any other people from Georgia Congress moved on to other projects, but I do know that they got a lot of different people from a lot of different places to kind of help build this team up. Yeah. I was just always curious about that cuz I still know a good number of people over there so long what's the best thing you would say about the work that you do? All of the work that I do is like kind of unconventional and well, I guess not unconventional like sort of a dimension sizes that I do that I work with like no one else in the world really works with these type of Dimensions cuz inside the stadium there's this song Halo board, and it's like six feet high, I think it's got like Fifty four thousand LED lights on it and the the file sizes and the dimensions that we work with are just pretty unorthodox and pretty wild to kind of like work with and when I first got started, you know someone I got trained in art school or just doesn't in designing was as the standard 1920 x 1080 and then suddenly I have to deal with sizes that are like fifty thousand nine fifty thousand five thousand or ten thousand sizes and it's kind of weird but it's also kind of cool cuz like you you kind of makes my portfolio stand out a little bit off and yeah, I guess that would be the best thing is that like I do I do the type of design that are very different than anyone else does and it may be kind of hard to put on social. Which is why I tend to put it on my website, but at the same time like not a lot of people can say they have designed the stuff that I designed and

"It off when I when I was learning, you know digital audio workstations like like able to it and what's it called Fruit Loops Studio? Yeah. Yeah. I was kind of just learning it for fun because I thought you know my music, isn't that great like I can I can play piano really? Well like I'm and I'm quite creative when I have my creative bursts of like, you know, yo, yeah. Yeah. I know. I saw it helped me last always happens in like 2 in the morning and they only last for about three years. Yeah. No, I'm the same with this podcast has been times where a lot of a lot of guests you see on this episode a lot of ideas. I have I agree to our creative both. I just roll with and yes, even took it works, you know, it does work. Well, yeah, but yeah, so I guess I was doing it for fun. I started like, you know experimenting cuz I did my my Netflix position on on a on a digital audio thing two years ago, and I thought, you know I could get this home. So I did and I was just messing around and compiling a little midi clips together to make a little too and I was like the same Vibes and so I start to upload on so close about half year later. And I got some I got I got kind of, you know, I didn't get mad reach others like, you know, ten fifteen people but I think at the time I was it was exciting because you know, I don't they had you know, my friends or my parents say oh this music is good or this music is okay, but I've got people I don't know saying wow, this music is actually pretty good. I quite like this and it felt oh good. I started making it not only for fun, but for my life, I kind of my own satisfaction I guess but it was also for the people I guess. Oh, yeah. I know what you mean. I don't even like I don't know if I don't know if you feel this as well, but you know, there's sometimes there's a certain song or a certain albums. You just really, you know, feel quite emotional to be quite a few quite tired and you believe you believe in that artists. It's like that kind of thing and I'm always like I want to make music for people that you know that to make them feel good about themselves. You know, anyone that was a very it was very mature answering well, you know comes with age Of course because you know, I'm sorry growing up my like my beard, you know, it's just kind of course of course. Yeah. Yeah. How's the weather from the kids? Are they doing? Okay wage. Uh you would you would you would you wouldn't know but what was I saying? Yeah, I've always wanted to meet I think making music making music for people like making people happy house has been something that I really felt passionate. Yeah. I like I like to see people's face like seeing them play up and if it's doesn't have to be music like if I make something for them, it could be like if I baked it like a bunch of cookies for my friends or something and they're like, oh these are really nice and they're really happy about it. It just makes me feel quite nice. Yeah. I know. I know it's music for people that like actually enjoy my music. It's another reason for me to just keep you know, pushing even when the birth of birth sign is frequent or You know when they just don't happen, it's all sometimes for weeks or months on end. Of course, of course, I'm I'm the same as you to be honest. I'm going to drop ballads one by joji. Listen to most Georgia Dome. Oh I used to but not anymore. It's like I love Georgia to that but is I think besides besides candy. The one that I felt most emotionally attached to it just rolled. It's Georgia. I just telling me that I'm just his I was watching a video about it this morning about how he's actually like progressed as it's almost character development wage. And I you know what, I first saw bingo I was it was in an ad break and one of my radio shows in 2015 on one of the guys in the year above me was a hundred thousand guy. It's just ping go-go.

"Ninety, three T. as in talent. That's right. We're talking to the talent directly. Of course, anybody can listen even the hiring manager spot. This, this morning some. Some crib notes some shortcuts. Some best practices if you're looking for work. A number one thing you can do. Que did I, get your attention this a number. One thing you can do if you're looking for gainful employment. Fix your attitude. You thought I was GONNA. Say something difficult right. I don't think there's anything more difficult. Do you ever know people that are just everything comes out of their mouth is Negative can't do this won't do that shouldn't do this or the other thing just. People that typically you don't like being around at least I don't like being around. After laugh icy from time to time articles and posts and podcasts. You know about how to deal with naked if people. And it's probably good for most people I have just eliminated them all from my interactions. At a mentor many moons ago. Mike Murdock and he said looked do not give a critic anytime zero Nada Zilch. Why because then you don't have time for the people that lift you up the build you up. That you enjoy each other's company lifting each other to higher levels so I, I've eliminated long ago. It doesn't even register anymore it just. Is like water off a duck's back in. Just, doesn't affect me so if you want. To to Change Your career your outlook, your your status in life everything about yourself number one change your attitude. Now I understand that's easier. Said than done. UNDERSTANDS A fulltime job. But the rewards are so amazing. Why would you? Why would you not do it right? So Next question. How do you make that happen? Hey, scam new to this thing you know this This attitude adjustment? How do I make that happen? Well for me the easiest is just change who you hang out with. And I mean that in a big sense not you know physically on a day-to-day basis that counts but. I hang out with this. Guy Les Brown he I believe is the number one motivational speaker in the world at this moment in time and has been. For the last. Been Falling since ninety two I think. So that's what. Eighteen years. So for the last eighteen years less brown I. Think is at the top of the game. Now I've heard them all and I'm Fan I'm a big fan of them all like. Zig Ziglar Charlie Tremendous Jones. Mark Victor Hansen and a bunch of others. But. The just something about less brown his down to Earth. Homespun. Sites. it just resonates with me. So I spend time with him I have a couple particular. podcast of episodes. Audio sessions of him that I I listened to repeatedly one is called. It's not over until I win. He gave this at the Georgia Dome in ninety two. May Be in I think it was ninety two. And that's when he first popped on my radar screen. Then I got chance in person a couple times and. and. So hang out with people that have a positive attitude. In. That might mean spend time with a podcast or video. So number one, you got to change your attitude number two. How do you do it? You hang out with positive people even if it's via podcasts fact I'll include Lincoln. The show notes the one of my favorites right now in fact. It's a podcast called tremendous leadership by Dr Tracy Jones who is the daughter of Charlie Tremendous Jones in a recent she happened just happened to have Mark Victor Hansen on the program saw all included Lincoln the show knows this is going to blow your mind it did mine and I followed him both for years. I'm one of Mark's biggest fans I. Don't know if you know that mark if you're listening. But. I'm a guy who bought the book, the One minute millionaire. Studied it night and day apply the lessons in the book. Within weeks? And generated an

"Georgia dome on your alive on the Rush Limbaugh show great to have you with us hi Mister Stein thank you for doing what you do and happy belated birthday shout out to rush yeah happy birthday to rush that says that that's good what's so what's on your bike today Dolan well I'd like to suggest another theory line Nancy Pelosi has delayed submitting the articles of impeachment and then propose a counter news by Mr McConnell okay excellent it suspicious to me that my policy of time the impeachment trial perfectly so that the next four weeks fall within the democrats' biggest free media blitz of the entertainment music and sports center street N. between the Grammys Superbowl and Oscars Lucerne Sir what I'd like to suggest or ask what you think is whether or not Mitch McConnell should delay the whole trial process until after the Oscars on February ninth and thus allowing the senators to go to the Iowa caucuses the course and get your thoughts on that so so you'll well your fairy is that because it's the Grammys and the Oscars and all that but basically every weekend people are gonna be switching even be but if people don't follow the trial they're gonna be switching on the TV and they're gonna be seeing all these big celebrity is making essentially impeach trump type speeches in support of Adam Schiff and whatever he's been doing on the Senate floor in the previous weight that's that's that's your that's your argument that don't that's correct and then reacting to what is ever whatever is happening that week or two away trump's tweets are accordingly or or whatever so we avoid that because the Republican voices of course aren't heard in the yeah the street under fear of retribution so I didn't I think after February ninth I think that I can see them actually doing that might it that's actually that's such a fascinating point my thoughts on that would be that in a sense you know when when they stop politicizing at these award ceremonies they have to usually have to stop by cloaking it in an issue or cloaking you know so they immigration because you know people of level one this these people have struggled a lot about about by told presented in human terms if that becomes a little more difficult to make yourself not look like a partisan hack if you're just talking about an impeachment proceeding in the Senate so I'm not I'm but I wonder how Alec Baldwin got mixed up with it last time round in a couple of others but except for that the most of those guys stayed paper what's your solution then you you said you're going to propose a solution bill Mitch McConnell put away the whole process so he lay do the same thing that Nancy Pelosi dead well you know I I don't I'm not I'm not sure about that because my I'm slightly more optimistic tone which is that I think what Evan Nancy and Adam shift to now it doesn't what doesn't work for them what you do is so so let's say it we have a six week trial or whatever it is right now and that club as the full senatorial candidates in Iowa New Hampshire so you deliver the you deliver the nomination to Joe Biden whose as weak and as ineffectual a candid as you can imagine he's just gonna look pathetic on stage next to trump but I I so I'm actually slightly more optimistic about this dog because I think whatever the Democrats do this isn't working for them and in a sense that a six day trial the goes on like the last one for weeks and weeks and weeks would just be fantastic because it would demonstrate the hypocrisy and wickedness are in effect because the impeachment would become a massive disruption all of the people's choice in an election year and I think that would reflect badly on the Democrats but you are you've got me interested I'm gonna say a few more words about this after after the break down because you've got me interested in this business of timing it full of the awards season I am actually thought of it like that but I guess that is like the most free media the Democrats debt is like kids Superbowl halftime shows a Grammy Awards and Oscars so it's fast that's a fascinating door we're going to pick it up as we continue the search box cited for rush do don't worry the great man is gonna put down the birthday cake and he will return tomorrow twenty twenty is going to be your year right join that Jim start that diet now how about getting out of that job into a career there are millions of unfulfilled cyber security positions in the US right now and my computer careers training people to help fill them no I. Add to honor, pleasure and privilege to welcome in from the Atlanta Journal constitution. Daryl Ledbetter DO what's going on? Cake. Getting ready for pick up here at Super Bowl fifty three at the Mercedes Benz stadium here in Atlanta today, I'll banned it sounds crazy down there. And you're welcoming everybody to Atlanta this week. How are you holding up with all the great coverage from the AJC? Are you getting any rest as we build this crescendo? Yeah. I haven't been getting much. NFC championship game flew to LA. Got back to Atlanta been working. I just decided by Wednesday after Super Bowl leave the city. Absolutely, brother, man. We got some unbelievable story lines in this game. Ballot chick versus Sean McVeigh Brady versus Goff. What do you expect Daryl? You know, you got also got up, Sean, you got up Philip gorgeous, Josh mcdaniels the home button canton McKinley. You know, calling the play the patriots. I think the rent having advantage with their defense that can make it a gang. Can they get Brady fake? Can they shut down the run? That. And then ran the ball with Todd Gurley slammed back here in Georgia to have shot of game. I don't like your dog having a chance to be Tom Brady and shoot out. They got game. Make it oath bashes snack mouser Brady around the Georgia Dome. Oh, Georgia Dome. The new Georgia Dome, which is the Mercedes. The failure and disrupt their packing, and you know, not Gluck on his to a couple of times or the ramp to have shot here. Gosh, you're you're giving me confidence at the Rams might be able to pull this thing off. I do not wanna lopsided game man of just rooting for a great game. But you're right. Aaron Donald and dedom- can sue with the pressure up the middle. You get into Brady's face. And then we all know that the quarterbacks best friend is a running game. Gosh, girl. He's got it touch the ball more than seven times. That's for darn sure. No question about it. They have a good combo. They've discovered down the stretch with E J Anderson Todd Gurley. Former Georgia BULLDOGS big crowd cheer for him today. And you know, we gotta get him more than seven coach got mad at them laugh game after he dropped those to taxes and then moved away from them as they fell behind thirteen to get back into that game. But he's not gonna do that. And the biggest game of the year. Sean McVeigh born in Dayton, Ohio, but grew up down here in Atlanta. Of course, you know, that the family to make bake family. At the university of Dayton. So it was kind of a homecoming for coach John McVay. Also, no doubt love and honor Miami, no doubt. Man. There's a lot going on Jake mcquaid the long, snapper. The Rams the first player from elder high school to play in the Super Bowl, brother. Oh, man craze. Yeah. And. You want a close game. Gosh, it's a two point spread in favor of the patriots man is can live up to that. I think it can check clearly two games coming down. They were out there earlier in the season, the Rams thankful to be here after what happened in New Orleans, but you know, good teams. The break. So it can certainly live up to the high. Then a great week here in the city, very walkable Super Bowl. No big distractions, the weather cooperated. And now are we needed a great grand football game? Top everything off Daryl Ledbetter is with us from the journal constitution. You got the old school with Bela chick? And then this new wave young guys the energy that a thirty three year old coach can bring in Sean McVay and his coaching tree is starting to blossom and Zack Taylor is expected to be the Bengals next head coach. Yup. Pop the Bengals dot com. Week eight can't really approach the the new coach. But I'm sure game today that he'll be talking to him along with rally from Cincinnati and Clark back quarterback coach for the ram. He'll be in charge of getting Jared, Goff, ready and keeping them together. The then the big game and his third international football league. So we'll see job coach Taylor dad with his prize pupil Jared. Yeah. Speaking a golf, I asked Tony pike what he's going through right now, man. He's just praying for a running game into keeping out a third and long because you don't want to be in that with with your lack of experience. Yeah. No doubt. You know, talking Andrew Whitworth. The former bingo about the edge rusher. Some New England they lack the move them around and flip them. But he said, you know, they, you know, they're gonna try to take the edge girly. And and C J guys are. It's not like to get prepared for three or four different types of edge rusher. So, you know, whether Ben Moyer, whomever. You know, they're gonna block in the same and try to open up the very fine ram offensive line. And where can have definitely get it moving over there and John Donovan, Dr a big part of it. So that compared good math yet making win the line of scrimmage in the football game. Yeah. We know that the next Bengals gonna win a Super Bowl ring. Whether it's Rex Burkhead, James Devlin and even Jeremy hill on injured reserve, and then there's Andrew Whitworth. I always stood next to Andrew when I wanted some shade. What does his presence standing next to that guy? Man. What presence for Andrew Whitworth? Yeah. No doubt about it chick. I actually covered him at LSU LSU. Next to him and jamarcus Russell and now to college kids back there. It's been kind of following it career, then what kind of you know, individual he'd grown into via the heart episodes. And then just reading a story about him headed up to the Super Bowl. So, yeah, it'd be one I think a lot of people would be happy for him to get his first Super Bowl ring in Gerald before. I let you leave just the just the changes over the years. Now, there's a big NFL show like like the Oscars the night before the game. You know? It's incredible. The hall of fame class gets unveiled. I'm sure you were involved in that. And it's just a spectacle just keeps getting bigger every year. Yeah. No doubt about it. Yeah. I was getting the meeting all day yesterday. Would hopton. He's the Cincinnati boater, and, you know, forty eight of us on that committee. And yeah, we picked the class eight yesterday. And I had a Tony Gonzales former south in champ Bailey. Former Georgia BULLDOGS go into the hall of fame. So we were busy with that. And I went through the show they had that Harvey cracking jokes. People's names. But yeah, grown into a global spectacle. The Super Bowl has been getting bigger and bigger as years move on. I guess everybody's braced for the halftime show at maroon five to see what they do. Oh, gosh Armageddon. Armageddon. Yeah. Have gone. You know, we we had Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake a few years back dot com. Got it got a little bit more notoriety than the game. And maroon five in Atlanta when they bypassed artists put them on. So that didn't go over well with the locals, but I like NUM five I'm looking forward to the show starred they're about ready to release for two days gone with the wind on the big screen, man. I can't wait I'll probably show up for one of those. But may I really appreciate you. Joining us from the capital of the south Atlanta, Georgia man have a great game. And. Be. Well, man. You're awesome. Thank you. Thanks for having me. The pleasure. Have a great day. You do the same d- Orlando Ledbetter, man. Really? Appreciate you. Joining us. I've contacted some writers. They don't have time, but d- Orlando Ledbetter makes time for his former Cincinnati inquirer. Cleveland native former Cincinnati Enquirer sportswriter. Now, do an unbelievable job is the Atlanta Falcons beat writer for the AJC where I spent a month of my life at the ninety six Olympic Games, who what an awesome city, this is chick Ludwig. And you're welcoming everybody to Atlanta this week. How are you holding up with all the great coverage from the AJC? Are you getting any rest as we build this crescendo? Yeah. I haven't been getting much. NFC championship game flew to LA got back to Atlanta been working pretty much decided by Wednesday. I'll get the rest after the Super Bowl leave the city. Absolutely, brother, man. We got some unbelievable story lines in this game. Ballot chick versus Sean McVeigh Brady versus Goff. What do you expect Daryl? You know, you got also got up, you know, Sean, you got up way Philip guard against Josh mcdaniels home Barton canton McKinley. You know, calling the patriots. I think the rent having advantage with their defense attorney can they take over the gang. Can they get ready fake? Can they shut down the run down have to do that? And then with Todd Gurley slammed back here in Georgia to have shot the game. I don't like having a chance to be Tom Brady and shootout. So they got this game make an old fashioned snacks. Author Brady around the Georgia Dome old Georgia Dome, the new Georgia Dome, which is the Mercedes and disrupt their past and then you know, knock on his to a couple of times for the ramp to have a shot here. Gosh, you're you're giving me confidence at the Rams might be able to pull this thing off. I do not wanna lopsided game men of just rooting for a great game. But you're right. Aaron Donald and Donna can sue with the pressure up the middle. You don't get into Brady's face. And then we all know that the quarterbacks best friend is a running game. Gosh, girl. He's got it touch the ball more than seven times. That's for darn sure. No question about it. He they have a good combo. They've discovered down the stretch with C J Anderson and Todd Gurley. Former Georgia BULLDOGS big crowd of cheer for him today. And you know, currently gotta get him more than seven coach got mad at them laugh game after he dropped us to passes the moved away from. They fell behind thirteen to get back into that game. But he's not gonna do that. And the biggest game of the year. Sean McVeigh born in Dayton, Ohio, but grew up down here in Atlanta, you know, and of course, you know, the family to McVay family and their time and at the university of Dayton. So it was you know, homecoming for coach, Sean McVeigh also, no doubt love and honor Miami, no doubt, man. There's a lot going on Jake mcquaid the long, snapper. The Rams the first player from elder high school to play in the Super Bowl, brother. Oh, man craze. That. Yeah. You want to close game. Gosh, it's a two point spread in favor of the patriots Mattis kinik live up to that. I think it can check us clearly two games coming down the stretch. They were out there early in season. The Rams, you know, they're thankful to be here. After what happened in New Orleans, but you know, good James. The break. So it can certainly live up to the high vinaigrette week here in the city. I was very walkable Super Bowl. No big distractions, the weather cooperated. And now, I we needed a great grand football game. Top everything off Daryl Ledbetter with us. From the Atlanta Journal constitution got the old school with ballot chick. And then this new wave young guys the energy that a thirty three year old coach can bring in Sean McVay and his coaching tree is starting to blossom. And sat Taylor is expected to be the Bengals next head coach. Yeah. No doubt about it. Yup. Hopton Bengals dot com. Earlier this week. The new coach. But I'm sure post game today that he'll be talking to him along with rags from Cincinnati and quark that gallery quarterback coach for the ram. He'll be in charge of getting ready and keeping them together. At the you know, the big game in his third season in the National Football League. So we'll see job coach Taylor dad with his pupil Garrick gall. Speaking of golf, I asked Tony pike what he's going through right now, man. He's just praying for a running game into keeping out a third and long because you don't want to be in that, you know, with with your lack of experience. Yeah. No doubt. And you know, talking Andrew Whitworth. The former bingo about the edge rusher. Some New England they lacked the move them around and flip them. But he said, you know, they, you know, they're gonna try to take the edge girly. And and see Jay guys are. It's not like they're not to get prepared for three or four different types of edge rusher. So, you know, whether Benoy, whomever. You know, they're going to block in the same. I try to open up the very fine ram offensive line. And where can have definitely get it moving over there and John Donovan a bit part of it. So that can be a good math yet. They can win the line of scrimmage. They'll have shot in the clip ballgame. Next to him and jamarcus Russell and now old college kid back then so it's been a July kind of following it career. Then what kind of, you know, individual grown into via the hard knocks episodes, and then just reading their stories about him headed up to the Super Bowl. So. Yeah. I think a lot of people would be happy for him to get his first Super Bowl ring in general before I let you leave just the just the changes over the years. Now, there's a big NFL show like like the Oscars the night before the game. You know, it's incredible. The hall of fame class gets unveiled. I'm sure you were involved in that. And it's just the spectacle just keeps getting bigger every year. Yeah. No doubt about it. Yeah. I was getting the meeting all day yesterday. Would happen. He's the Cincinnati voter. And, you know, forty eight of us on that committee. And yeah, we picked the class eight yesterday. And I from my perspective, I had Tony Gonzales former south in and champ Bailey. Former Georgia BULLDOGS go into the hall of fame. So we were busy with that. And I went to the show they had that Steve Harvey cracking up people name. Yeah. Ronin Globo spectacle, the Super Bowl has and. Been getting bigger and bigger as years move on Ed, I guess everybody's braced for the halftime show at maroon five to see what they do. Oh, gosh Armageddon. Armageddon. Yeah. I have. You know, we we had Janet Jackson adjusted Timberlake. A few years back got kinda gotta got a little bit more notoriety than the game. And maroon five in Atlanta when they bypass Atlanta artists. Put them on. So that didn't go over well with the locals, but I liked five. I'm looking forward to the show starred they're about ready to release for two days gone with the wind on the big screen, man. I can't wait I'll probably show up for one of those. But may I really appreciate you. Joining us from the capital of the south Atlanta, Georgia man, have a great game and be well, man. You're awesome. Thank you. Thanks for having me. The pleasure. Have a great day. You do the same d- Orlando Ledbetter, man. Really appreciate DO. Joining us. I've contacted some writers. They don't have time. "In the suburbs. And then the Georgia Dome was twenty five years old which. Logo older, but not that old. It was in pretty good shape. But it wasn't the kind of revenue generating building for the NFL team that a lot of other cities have because I didn't necessarily have some the luxury suites. And it also didn't allow the falcons to control the revenue on a year round basis of paying concerts and other events that will coming in there. So this new building talking to essentially got a sweetheart deal on it, and they control all the revenue now, basically the owner Arthur blank is making a lot more money. We're being within Walkin sports columnist at USA today. He's written a piece entitled is the two point four billion dollars Atlanta paid for new sports stadiums. The last two years worth it. Is there a fair and accurate way to measure whether or not these venues ultimately will be worth it. I don't know that you can necessarily come up with a number or an analysis that would tell you exactly whether or not it's worth it. Because I think sometimes the benefit of having an event like the Super Bowl or the final four or whatever it sort of incalculable. And I know that people try to come up with economic impact studies. But I think those things are very flawed in their methodology. There is I think he value to the city of Atlanta being on the minds of people not just for tourism purposes. But. You know, there's a lot of media that comes in. And they go, right. Nice things about the city, and maybe that attracts business, or whatever you just don't know how that's going to impact on a on a rippling scale low over a number of years, but the people in Atlanta, the leadership has made it a priority to bring events to the city that will make Atlanta. Making lands branding is an international destination. You a very important city in the world. Very core to their strategy. So I don't know how you measure it. But I in that respect it certainly does have some value. Thanks, dan. Walkin sports columnist at USA today. Twenty minutes now in front of the hour on this weekend. Purpose and L works. "And you would expect the weather to be terrible and freezing up there, which it was being in Atlanta this year, you thought, okay? They'll they'll be okay. That's a good location added. They should have some good weather one to two inches of snow expected today in the Atlanta area. So they're going to have a rough go at it for when is the Super Bowl, Monday nights Sunday. Oh Sunday afternoon that snow will be gone by them. But they don't deal with snow. Well at all in Atlanta. I know that deep south didn't the last time they had the Super Bowl Atlantic froze like freeze freeze. No, I mean like ice freeze. You know? I can't recall for such an indoor game they'll be playing at the it did because this is it was nineteen years ago. And there I saw an article that said, it's like deja vu. It is exactly. He was like every time. They're going to have the game. Atlanta is gonna freeze. Well, again, it's a good thing. They're having an indoors. So won't be too cold studying the same stadium. This time is no right last time. It would have been outdoors. I'm guessing. They had the the Georgia Georgia Dome. You're right. They had the Georgia Dome back then so that was indoors too. But anyway, in Chicago, the coldest temperature of the year, they say is going to be here. Mid week. After seeing a high around thirty four on Monday at O'Hare temperatures are going to drop to near zero before the end of the day. According to the national weather service and by tonight, it's expected to plunge to twenty three below zero. Yes. Each whether they're coming close to Chicago's coldest temperature ever, which was January twentieth. Nineteen eighty-five when it got to twenty seven below and it's so windy there. That's what makes it even worse. That's what makes the wind chill factor. They're talking about some places in Minnesota because of the wind chill it'll be fifty or sixty below with the wind chill. But Chicago really has a what do you do wrong? When you.

"This year is a testament to the fact that you know, that times change, and you got to keep up with the times, and you got to have something that's a new millennium idea. The idea of having a judgment call or non call folded into replay with that be something you're open to. An I certainly would be. But that's just speaking for myself personally. I haven't sat now rich and gone over that in any detail, obviously the committee. They're committee has not made up of owners, general managers and coaches as not a chance to really deal with the issues. It would seem to be pretty pretty obvious. There are some other questions. I think that are that they have to respond to as well when they if they consider that kind of change. But you know, I would say this. I don't say this defensively, but I think our referees doing excellent job. However, have you know, twenty two men of that size. And that's being flying all around. I mean, they'll they will miss goals periodically. Don't miss a lot of them when they missed you know, one that's critical at a critical time the game. It's it's you know, it's particularly painful. So I, you know, I think the committee really needs to look at that. And and figure out a way that we can address it in a positive way going forward. And then the last question the subject if you don't mind the the supposition that was put out over the weekend. That the hometowns of some of these officials being in southern California might have played into something. Nobody knows what do you do you put any credence into that supposition? No. I really don't. I'm and I've gotten to know number of the ficials over the years. I was a little bit connected to the last negotiations with the officials and on the committee that work with that. And and I and I would say these officials they to to core into a man and a woman they ah very independent. They don't think for minute about. Well, I used to live their friends their family their therefore, I'm gonna interpret the Rusal differently for this game. I mean, it just doesn't work that way. I mean, they they they do an extraordinary job. They do the best job. They can obviously they used to technology. You know, in many ways as made their made their job hot or an easier made easier because we have an opportunity to get things right with things. Happening as quickly as they are on the other hand, you know, it makes it a little more difficult because when they mystical in this situation, which is not ordinarily it wasn't you know, a flag thrown. So it wouldn't nearly wouldn't be subject to replay. There are questions as to how you best deal with that. And I think the committee will come up with some good answers. Well, as you pointed out in in the first part of our conversation, just all the storylines. It really is remarkable that there was a fourteen year old Sean McVeigh as a patron in the Georgia Dome that day when Super Bowl was here. The last time that the Rams also were in it really is you can't make this stuff up when you think about it know, you really can't make it up. It's just it really is a really is amazing. And and, you know, he's a young brilliant coach, and he's going to be competing against the guy in the other side of the of the feel that you know, is is record speaks for himself. And and he's got a young quarterback. You know, McVeigh got easy young coach. And on the other hand, they've got a lot of. Great players, and and they got great creativity, and there's perform well when they've had to this year. So I think we really good game. I look forward to I really do. And I'm sure you look forward to the day where you know, your team's back in. How do you? How do you think that that go? How how do you make that happen in your estimate? Make it happen. I would certainly make it happen. I can't you know, all I can do. And you know, I have tremendous confidence and coach Quin, Dan, Quinn and Thomas Mitchell, our general manager coaches performed a very high level since you've been with us going into its fifth season coming up and Thomas has been with us since two thousand eight we drafted Matt Ryan..

"I mean, I can't I be like to know what goes on behind closed doors, and to know what that conversation was like, I'm gonna guess it at some point. It was a little uncomfortable. But I also know that Todd really has again expressed again, and again how much competence they haven't McVay how much they respect Trump is the reason why team that won four games in twenty sixteen is now going to the Super Bowl. I I don't think girlies really going to question his head coach. But I think there probably was an expression of hey, I do wanna get going in the Super Bowl. And I think to show McVeigh's point he wants to get him going to want to have his star running back sitting on the sideline. So it needs to be a better effort probably from both of them. Theory covers the Rams for free SPN like these scenarios in which anytime McVeigh senses early would complain he'd like marches up to kinda grabs his face next. I rescued you from Jeff Fisher, I can send you right back. Like, you know. That'd be seen. But I cannot imagine Sean McVay doing that the extension though of Andy's question, though, is how much does it matter. The Rams have taken care of their guys. Like, I feel like this would be totally different deal. If Todd Gurley didn't already have a contract, and no he was a cornerstone of his team for the next three or four five years. Whatever it is. So like culturally, how much do you think stuff like that has contributed to the Rams being where they are now fairly it doesn't mean we'd be naive to think that Todd Gurley. What handle some of the rotation situation right now when we'd be naive to think that he'd handle it as well as he has if he didn't have that contract because he was still playing to get paid. This is now scenario that you want to have happened, but he has his money and now he wants us to provole, and if that means sharing carries, so he can say, you know, more fresh throughout the postseasons out the game. I think that's Todd Gurley. Utimately is willing to do. Because he sees the prize he wants to get there. What do you think of meant for Jared Goff to get through a game? But he's like, oh, take three and thirteen record or thirteen and three records. But I think for him to really grow on such a big stage. And prove he could lead the thirteen point, you know, come from behind victory and do it in that kind of environment, which set Superdome was just Justin sing loud. I think that's volumes to Jared Goff. Who is the quarterback? And who is going to be? We're talking to Lindsay covers the Rams free PND is it enough to kind of mitigate the whole Brady versus Goff thing. Experience versus the first time there and all that. I mean, the Super Bowl isn't the NFC championship game. But that was still pretty intense like it's not going to be louder in in the Mercedes dome or whatever it's called now. I almost call the Georgia Dome. I know it's not that it's not gonna be louder there than it was in in the Superdome. So the environment the pressure will be greater, but the environment won't be tougher. Environment certainly won't be as difficult. And they've also just most of the season just killing themselves with defensive penalties. But they only have one defensive penalty in the last two weeks that defense is getting back the return of safety. Eric berry d three time all pro practicing all week and sore heel, the Atlanta native on what it would mean if the chiefs reached super Sunday at Georgia Dome that puts a lot on it. But just the fact that you know. I mean, just look at the history behind the trophy. You know, look look into organization that we're we're playing for. That's great. "Eisen. Hour number three of the rich Eisen show is on the air the Friday before championships Sunday. I can't believe it's here, man. Serve. It is. It's here in our poll. Question is we just we we go right to the heart of the matter? What do you want to see in the SuperBowl? Who do you want to see out there? For me top of hour, number three. You to see in the Super Bowl. Yeah. Patriots. Rams. That's what you wanna see while. It's because that's what I predicted before the season and much rather be right than anything else. I mean, I'm being very honest seven percent if the patriots make the Super Bowl, I have I have family members calling me for tickets. You think I want that? You know, what I mean, you'll Scott to just chill out instead home. Call him out by news to stay home. What else? Patriots. Saints twenty-five percent. So only thirty two percent Vigo first ballot hall of Famer drew Brees first ballot hall of Famer Tom Brady goat greatest of all time versus goat cheese. Rams. I think this is the one that I wouldn't mind. Ticket. Five points for for a combined right there. Could you imagine that happens in the Super Bowl America? Two percent. The world would not be able to handle it thirty to thirty two percent. Thirty six percent chief saints home teams leads the way. My heart says, Mike, my my head says heart, my heart, which is part of my entire being that would rather be right than anything else. Because I predicted that I woke up I saw it on Labor Day. Okay. Labor Day is now almost Martin Luther King day. And I haven't changed patriots lose Durant's. They've been called my shot there. Rams over patriots. Last time the two seeds one on the same championship Sunday or the road teams. One of the same championship Sunday was when the Harbaugh's won the. As we know the forty Niners beat the falcons, I think that close out the Georgia Dome. If I'm not mistaken. No, it didn't they won that they won't actually they won their championship game to eventually lose the patriots because of the Georgia Dome. They closed closed out in the Georgia Dome that day, and then the ravens failed less than usual in in Gillette by winning and beating Brady and a home AFC championship game. How did that happen? Doesn't happen often. It doesn't happen often Brady winning on the road and in AFC championship game. Goes to.

But the fact that he is the first year QB concerning Tedy Bruschi first rookie playoff game, nineteen Ninety-six your safety. Former safe the former linebacker, but we as defensive players you feel that pressure. You feel that excitement that adrenaline. You can go out there and hit somebody. You can go out there and run around and run on kickoff interest laid it out and just scream. I can't imagine for a quarterback rookie quarterback going out there. You don't have that. You can't just go out there and go crazy. You gotta stay calm. You gotta stay calm and still realize you gotta play the call. You gotta defense to read. You got a ball. You gotta deliver in certain places. So it's a lot different for rookie quarterback's. You got two defenders out here that just went out and smashed. That's what we did. That's how we dealt with the pressure going to be answering. This interesting to see how Lamar deals with that. Yeah. Indeed. And they get an LA chargers team twelve and a four this season seven and a one on the road the national championship game has seats that can be had for a hundred and fifty bucks consider that the average ticket price. But this year's title game is about a third of what it was for last year's championship. Having two teams with proximity to the Georgia Dome certainly help last season. But there should there be concerned for this year's dollar figures. PTI with this take no the ticket sales are slow because the SEC people look at California and think it's in southeast Asia. And they can't figure out how to get there without being an RV. So no, I'm not. Last year's tickets were sold in Atlanta. The game was in Atlanta, and you had Georgia and Alabama where people could drive two and a half hours to get from wherever they are to the stadium. That's not the case in Santa Clara. You gotta flip flop that in whatever way you want to do it and have the games that matter most second, your entree, your main course, so I would love to disagree with everything you said, I can't accept your vicious slander of the SEC in the RV's, which actually thinks some pretty funny like those RV's a lot of good food there. Please you've never been in an RV and your life around the corner. You're right that the problem. This game is geography that like the Pac twelve can't even get into the point. So people in the west coast have no particular interest in this. And it is a long way for people from Alabama and South Carolina to go. And you're one hundred percent right about the other part of this you end the college football season on January first traditional ball games. And then you'll play the finals the next day and one week later you play. Hard. These are the two best teams. I want to say one other thing people will say, well, this is the reason you go to eight teams say hold on a second you four this year. And the first two games were terrible. But the hope is the last game will be great. Apparently, there's no brotherly love and Billy as far as the Sixers are concerned. We explain what. Sportscenter allnight returns, this is ESPN radio..

They're going to start selling five dollar craft beers at, their regular season game starting September sixteenth against the Panthers also any. Home playoff games five dollars for a craft beer when normally if you want to Craft beer at, a stadium eighteen dollars. Seventeen dollars you wanna crappier, to stadium for football game yeah. You're not, gonna you're not getting Here's? My, here's my question if you're listening to us in your? Falcon fan or you've been? To Mercedes Benz stadium or? You like beer no it's more of you've been there are the ticket, prices are they, getting you anyway you know what I'm saying like they might not be getting you at the. Food prices which they've they've put they've they've lowered in comparison? To the rest of the National. Football League and the craft beer prices but are you pay more for tickets, and more for parking so it ends up being awash. So like in Vegas when the when the waitress. Brings you a free beer meanwhile you're gambling. And, losing like twenty. Dollars a minute Tip anyway sure right, sure, it's like three but it's not really free yeah So is is that the case with Mercedes Benz stadium the tickets are ten, dollars more, than they ever would be or fifteen, dollars more than they were you know going back to, the old Georgia Dome but the beer, price, in the food prices are less but there's many, people who will say okay if, the if the ticket is fifteen dollars more but if the beers. Five dollars I will have more, beer to alleviate the cost of the tickets so if. I have four, beers that's twenty dollars and. The extra ticket was fifteen dollars. I'm, coming. Ahead. Five dollars in, the deal people use that. Philosophy
