"Terriers are Georgia Bulldogs. Our boxers are Persian cats. They have a difficult time even dissipating heat like that. I'll never forget. I had a bulldog. Come in here. People are coming up from Atlanta, and he was riding in the back of a Land rover. Discovery of the old ones look like the safari vehicles on the air conditioner is on. But he sat in the sun, You know as a came in And he was 108 degrees I got here which is again. You know, a heat emergency just because he couldn't display and they didn't have any idea, you know, And so, um, we're just trying to avoid those things, huh? Some of the fun things you can do is get those those ice cube trays out. Make your pets and frozen Ice cube treats for a video. Graham Peanut butter's cool. You can even just do water with a little chicken broth and maybe a Um, a little treat. You know the middle and pop those things down and let them lick them that can call them from the inside. Just like ice cream can for us, Um, make sure that you watch the humidity factor because, you know, grow up, said it's not the easiest humanity. That's right. It's too. You got Arizona we under in 10 degrees, and you will not be merely as hot as you are. Here in Georgia. The 90 99% humidity, Mark, So just watch that your pets don't want don't want to go outside exercise and that he promised you leave him inside. If you can't walk barefoot on the pavement, they can, either. So just kind of be cognizant of that on Ben, You really need to prepare for power outages, right? We'll have storms that knocked the power and the air conditioning out. Um, you know, pets appreciate cooling towels, even just those towels. You know those those, um Micro fiber type house and you bring him.

Georgia Bulldogs announce no make-up game for Vanderbilt Commodores cancellation

"Always great to Welcome back mike griffith to the program and mike. Let's start with the georgia bulldogs. After a spectacular saturday. They were hoping for one more game. It had already been postponed and now it has been canceled in what has been the reaction there and can anything be done about well. We're not gonna probably ever have anything like this in the future but really curious about your thoughts. Yeah a lot of fury. A lotta anger at georgie. No i it's twofold one georgia's playing great football. Jt daniels i mean before jt. They convert forty two percent of the third downs with jt. They convert sixty six right. Jt daniel six touchdown passes on on third down throws three incompletions. I mean the guys night and day. It's been amazing. Some people maybe. It's the schedule actually know if you look at the third down defense is the last. Three teams actually ranked better than the first six on average. What georgia's played. This guy has made all the difference in the world. It makes a difference in recruiting. Suddenly you have players. That are migrating to georgia that. Want to be a part of the georgia offense again so this transformation is happening in the shadows. Now that's georgia's fault. They didn't take care of business when they needed to jacksonville or in tuscaloosa and so they're sitting out this week so you don't get to see it but it's been happening on saturdays in athens and this georgia outgoing class. All these guys had an opportunity to be the winningest class in georgia football history. That's quite a legacy. But because vanderbilt canceled out all they can do is tie that mark now and so the a piece of their legacy is gone understand. Covid nineteen is not controllable but in the case of vanderbilt its players that are quitting the team and in the case of vanderbilt they cancelled on december fifth rally the troops for their senior day on december twelve and then canceled on georgia again. After the fact so georgia couldn't even get an alternative game that was acceptable for the senior day. So there's a lot of of anger and frustration and disappointment and all george can do now is hope that they get a good bowl draw. I think they need notre dame to upset clemson. I think if that happens. And if chalk holds and ohio state beat the bad northwestern and alabama roles florida. You could see georgia clemson in the orange bowl and i think that could excite the georgia fan but as things currently project. You're looking maybe. Cincinnati georgia in which case. Maybe some georgia guys opt out and say you know what it's cincinnati. It's it's not a real game.

Right here on your home of the dog. So I'm with you for just a little bit longer. Hope you're enjoying a little bit of a Halloween themed show. We're gonna have mohr Halloween ideas and plants coming up to the bottom of the hour with Pike Nursery. And what plant they're recommending you check out this weekend in this week in the nursery. Lots of good calls. First. The weather update brought here by Finlay Roofing. Today we've already hit a low in the low forties and only gets warmer from here. High in the low sixties is dry tomorrow Partly cloudy to start the day. I'm gonna hire around 67. That's going to really be some good news right out to Carroll County. We say good morning to Tim calling from Vila Rica. Welcome to the show. Yes, I'm moving past couple months can I inherited a big jungle. This thing is like Here. 12 ft. Tall in 2030 ft. I really need Without killing. I will need two pretty back a lot. Will you call? You Do they're alright. You're calling that a really good time, Tim, Because I've got some good news for you. So Turkey and Celeste or two of the fig varieties and the bushes that do really here in the south? Yeah. I mean, they can grow to a height of 15 ft, right. So for some major overhaul, pruning, I would recommend January Tim January is going to be the best time to get in there and do that. First by removing some of the vertical sprouts. The tall stems that are just much, much taller than all the rest. You have to really get in there, and it's best to take those chutes in those stems all the way back to the base. If you can. I know it's probably really crowded in there, though, so if you can't do that, at least cut it back to a spot where There's a smaller limb. Then what you're removing, cut it back to that and keep in mind with fig bushes. The fruits are going to grow on the ends of the horizontal limbs. So you want to take out his few horizontal limbs as you can on. Obviously, this major pruning in January is going to invigorate new growth, You know, in juvenile growth, so that takes Probably 6 to 8 months before that new growth is going to be able to put out the horizontal stems that that are gonna have figs. So the more new growth we're going to get you may miss as big of a bumper crop. A CZ figs as you would like. But start with that reducing it by taking out as many vertical stems is, you need to leave some of the horizontal stems alone if you can. That's going to be a good start. I hope and then that's your major pruning in January. Then you can definitely do it once again in June. Maybe you're going to have plenty of leaves into April and all of that. You're gonna have new vertical shoots that are growing in the light pruning Khun B done in mid June. Just to take out Maura of those juvenile sprouts If you need Thio, If that's not done in June, the plant develops or devotes. A higher portion of its resource is to those new shoots right, so it's using all its energy to promote those new shoots. That are put on by the pruning you do in January, and we want that energy to go toward making fruit. So just keep kind of removing those juvenile steps in January in June is going to be really good for.

His defense dominates holding the Tigers to only 39 yards on the ground. You can stop people who run ball, you usually suffocate him. That's Kirby Smart. Who goes with Stetson Bennett, the former walk on making his first start a quarterback going for 2 48 touchdown being able to be company office around by such great players, Seaver cares. "Let's talk about the Georgia bulldogs as. Their game might not be that difficult this weekend in Fayetteville but what about the quarterback situation? It was about a week ago and my griffiths joined this with his feeling about who should be the star Michael rejoins us a number of issues to discuss Mike. Always great to have you on. Let's let's start with the Cuban situation. What are you here? Yeah you gotTa Be Dorm Math Paul I mean of jt Daniels still isn't cleared this week. I mean really last week. If he wasn't cleared, you gotTA prepare with who you've got doin', Mathis Jt Daniels, very different style quarterbacks. So I think you're gonNA see Dwan this under center maybe some Carson back maybe some Stetson Bennett up but likely one mathis in quite a story book start. This will be Paul. Moussa Cisse is going to Memphis

"See say five star prospect originally in the class two thousand twenty one, but now I'm class. Two Thousand Twenty announced this afternoon that he is committed to the University of Memphis. Pippen Hardaway's Tigers over offers from Georgetown Georgia. Florida State Lsu and Kentucky for those unfamiliar. I guess you can on some level. Call him a quote local product because he did spend the past year at Lausanne collegiate school, which is seven miles from the Memphis. MEMPHIS campus, but he's not really a local product. He was born in West. Africa moved to New York, in two thousand, fifteen played at Saint Benedict's prep in New Jersey played at Christ King in New York, then relocated a Memphis, the plate laws and this past season led the links to a state title, one Mr Basketball and the state of Tennessee average eighteen point, four points, fifteen point, three rebounds, and a ridiculous nine point two blocks per game, and now we have college basketball season. He says he'll play for the Memphis Tigers. norlander break it down. What do you make a penny? Hardaway lending a five star center in two straight recruiting classes last time. It was James Wiseman this time Mussa. Break it down Oh. Yeah, here's what I got a question for you I. Mean Here's here's was Gary Perez? Is tweet on Wednesday afternoon breaking all caps course. This was an all caps breaking the way I don't i. You know what expected to go to Memphis. I. Don't know if all caps was warranted there. Can you take me inside the thought process versus not in a? Regular grammar versus going all caps in that moment, please. Young Mussa say follows exactly ten people on twitter. I am one of them, and so I wanted to make sure he he saw how much emphasis I put on his commitment. How do I just know that two four six years from now if and when Lucy say is? Able to earn a consistent NBA paycheck, and perhaps it's even a player of of importance in the NBA. Gary Parrish will never ever ever forget or forget to remind people that there was one point in time and Mussa CCA followed ten people on twitter. And he was one of them. I honestly don't even understand it. Because like he used to follow a lot of people on twitter, I noticed and. One of them was not me, and then suddenly he cut almost everybody, but added me I don't really even know the connection there, but. I want I knew he'd see the tweet. And once I knew each the tweet I wanted to I wanted him to experience in all. Caps tweet obviously as as faithful podcast, listeners will know. Also one Moussa, see say. was tutored by your own son so I think. That might also be an influence. Parish working behind the scenes to get it done for Memphis. You've gotta admire actually ironically enough this happening in a week where parish is not on his local radio show. The conspiracy only strengthens. Okay, so here's what here's my question for you. you say the six eleven likely one and done talent averaged. Eighteen point four points, fifteen point, three rebounds and nine point two blocks last season pick memphis over Georgetown. Tom Kriens Georgia bulldogs Kentucky and Lsu. My question is. Who the hell is this guy planning? Nine point two blocks a game what? I have not I have. It's private school basketball in the state of Tennessee so? Took it over people who look like my oldest son in some cases like the blogging. What after another like I don't know I never been to a laws and basketball game and I've never even actually met. Say although it is true, my son and Mussa. Were classmates in my son to tutor him in in certain classes I. I don't even know if say knows that. My son is his classmate. He might, but I don't know that I've never I've never even had a real conversation about Mussa with my son. Other than so, what kind of young man is he and was like really nice? Really Really Nice guy like you know doesn't walk around like some big time. Basketball player I the only other times. I would talk to myself about Moses. Like Hey, did you see that dunk? That was on instagram last night or something like that? Because like fans are crazy, and at one point, the two schools involved in the Memphis in. RECRUITMENT MOST HEAVILY WE'RE MEMPHIS IN KENTUCKY and I'm like it doesn't matter what happens I. will somebody connected to one of those fan? Bases will blame me for it if HE GOES TO MEMPHIS, Kentucky fans it'd be because I pushed into Memphis somehow through my son, and if he goes to Kentucky Memphis fans, it'd be like see parish eight says all the modern salads like I'm not even getting involved. The only time my son had ever been asked about Mussa as recruitment. That I witnessed was one of my friends recently asked him when they were over at the house, and my son's answer was he always talked about? Georgetown but I don't think he's going to go to Georgetown and that was the extent of it. So he was right. Maybe my son's got a future and being a recruiting analyst, right?

"I look over my right shoulder. We start on the left, and the first picture is a newest picture that picture was just. Brand new that picture was just put up a couple of days ago, and it was taken over at Jim's house, and we got got Jacob four or five week old. Great great, grandson, j holding him and myself, and Jim and Johnny in the picture. And I don't know where Jack was we want? I don't understand how we didn't get Jack in there. Well, he could have been in school. So that that's J section and then to the right of j we have a picture taken at western Kentucky university when he was twelve years old. He was at a camp. And I was there we're going through the dummies. He was the handed the ball off to him. And he he dived into dummy. Then we have Megan and Indiana when she was doing sports some bought broadcasting as part of her academics. Then we have have Jimmy directing his last play. He directed a a play here on campus. And then as you go around, we got Riley pitching. In with with the Georgia BULLDOGS, then we have have grace when she and her her water polo outfit for Coronado high school. Then we have Allison holding the Super Bowl trophy great picture. And then a picture of her ask doing what coach Jack Harbaugh coached her to do in basketball. The only really thing I know about basketball, you could look at the picture and see it when in doubt shoot, we don't do any passing. We don't do any Blackie or cutting or whatever else strategy shoot the ball when you got in her hands, and she's pulling then we have as -ly isn't she uniform little inner volleyball or volleyball down here. Well, that's a cross Jackie skin. Oh, she just starting lacrosse, then we have Addy, Katie. And then the picture of Jack that was taken a couple of years ago down in Florida where he is has a football and running over the dummies and jumping in the dummy seek it just go across the wall. All see where J did it like almost twenty years ago? And now now Jackson it, and then we have gym, and and Johnny we need to upgrade a picture on him because he's he's moving around. Now, get him live and in person. He's he's growing quick grows. Quickly. Just not just one more picture. I want to show us the next one. It's the one over it's done by Derek Howard. Derek Carr was defensive back for me with Bobak in the in the seventies. And he's such a such. Oh, toughest guy. We know. I me tell you story. We're at the Penn State game this year and a bunch about two hundred players or down on the field. Jim Pickens was there and the tea was ready to go into the locker room before they came out for the game. And Jim Pickens Xerez coach, you know, what we'd be doing now back in the old days. Yeah. We have we had a you had a front tackle before. We went in the locker what we wanted to get a little try to draw a little sweat a little blood. If you. Might. But we just wanted. And it was it was a boom. And so I said Jim you don't would be doing right now. We'd be doing that tech. And we said look around say, please God don't let Derek Howard b. Because Derek our heaven, those Yasim unknown to mankind so Derek, and what are you all he left? He said coach I wanna give you this. And he gave us that picture, and it's a picture with players on it. And he changed the numbers I recognized by the the body mannerism Ron Simpkins is on air. Jim Bolden is on their Dwight Hicks is on there. And and Derek is on their, but their numbers are all different. So you can't can't tell them by their numbers. So he drew that force and it's a beautiful picture, but look at the press box. It is meticulous. The lines are meticulous architect that was his major. He was an architect. And we had a chance a couple years ago. We went to an event here. I think it was played Michigan state a couple years ago. Right. Jackie. We met out at Don cannon was place. And he presented us with..

"Welcome back to the program. Ed is in Dallas, welcome, Ed. Thank you very much. Thank you for taking my call. I just won't do. I'm to somebody's already said until you before. But that kid it drove into Oklahoma player damn near out of the stadium is what cost West Virginia. They're both gay. Good point. I went to a quarter mile or down in the mid fifties. But I get to watch them play. And then not play. And you know, what I'm talking about like they shouldn't be out too. So I'll go to a game. So I can watch it and enjoy the football by self, you know, in that was a good game between Oklahoma and West Virginia. But sometimes I think the coaches ought to police kids said and then go through the rules until late. You don't do that. But anyway, it was a great game. And I just wanted to say that thank you, very very much. So let's go to Columbus, Georgia, Justin. You're on the air adjusting Naipaul how you doing? Okay. I got a question, man. Why is it? You know, I I called in before when when Georgia has just got rid of more, Rick, and we got curves more. And I'm just wondering why it is that? We is the Georgia BULLDOGS are getting zeros hands was so ever to win this game Saturday. Well, listen, I think Georgia is getting a lot of compliments, but you're being met your match up against Alabama and the perception of people in the betting public is it Alabama's nearly two touchdown favorite. So it starts there. You can break down any way you want. I'm not that skilled in in in breaking college football lines up again. But the people that I've talked to are and. I talked to a former coach today who pointed to Georgia's defense as being their achilles heel. And they're in the fact that they are somewhat limited offensively. He also said to me that I'm just quoting him. He said that from on the run is not as by the way, neither is too. So I think you could flip it either way. I I'm just telling you, what people say, what do you think your fan, you have your own opinion? I mean, you know, the way I look at it Georgian now as opposed to the Georgia last year, obviously, we're better last year. If you look at it to before the LSU loss, I think we're better team. I think that since the LSU loss we have come back in with a new like we've found ourselves. You know, we've got a running game. Just let's talk about that. For a second. You beat a really good Florida team. A good team not not in Alabama liked team. He beat Auburn which. Is very limited authencity, and you'd be Georgia Tech, which he's just an average team that gets a lot of hype. So I I agree with you Georgia's played incredibly well, and I think they're one of the top teams in the country. But no one has matched up Alabama this year so far. So I think that's part of it. And. On a one on one off situation. I've seen a lot of crazy things as you have. I mean, I'm not going to be. Dumbfounded. If Alabama loses a game. I don't think they will. But. Why would they lose the game? Well, Alabama in historically under saving his loss games for a couple of reasons they're kicking game breaks down. Which is always a possibility. They turn the ball over. They get a key injury last year. They lost to Auburn primarily because they were incredibly deficient at the linebacker position. Because of injury they were not by the time the Clemson game came around. So there's always a reason because Alabama has the best program in the country. Georgia has one of the top programs. I don't I I'm not convinced. I want you to tell me what you think whether this Georgia team is as good as the one that played last year against Oklahoma in Alabama. Absolutely not think that if this is good as last year defensively that maybe that's part of the problem, though. Right. And I know we're not where we need to be defensively. But also know that I believe the stat was we've given fewer..

Final predictions: South Carolina Gamecocks vs. Georgia Bulldogs

"One I'm going to go to South Carolina, SEC matchup, the Gamecocks. Our our ten point home dogs. I'm telling you Georgia's a great team and a third ranked team in the nation at cover off a national championship game loss a year ago. And I know number of the guys are now play in the National Football League. And Kirby sports got that program, actually, humming right along. I just think this early in the season ten's allot to give to a team of South Carolina is also a top twenty five team coming off an opening week victory at home. I'm not saying South Carolina's gonna win the game. I don't think. So. But I do think they can hang with Georgia. I'm gonna take the Gamecocks plus ten that's picked number

"Think about how good this team in athens going to be in one or two years from now and that's why it's imperative that the florida gators take the next step forward that's why it's imperative that tennessee does it get lost behind in the shuffle because what bama has built in the sec over the last couple of years we might be seeing a sneak preview of what's happening in the east with kirby smart the georgia bulldogs you're listening to nepal find bomb show podcast join right now all the polls show by mr pat duly down in gainesville and pat we were just talking about a million kubisiak in the break about what lsu fans are expecting to see this weekend and i said i sure as i don't know what should florida fans be expecting to see from their team at the infamous hung tell me game against the tigers uh i don't think they know either got they look like they were a little bit better off last week but their secondary was off it will be an era oil is your wake that will rugg various guys and again i think the one thing i am i know is that florida's played hard every time out and i don't think any of vote i'm sure you're the peter have any idea what to expect malik iran fire or they're going to cover air with that you know the up or go on on a guy nobody knows what to expect with with lsu nfl it doesn't come in here ready to play order orders would be in great shape if they do that we were probably come now or quarter widow of other great gate.
