"In two thousand fourteen, a woman was pulled over by Myrtle beach police in Myrtle beach South Carolina. The woman was black and the police said they pulled over because of a tail light. They found a small amount of marijuana in her car and she was given the option to avoid charges if she told them where she got marijuana. As one officer later put it, she was asked quote who she knows. She, says she did know someone, but she didn't know his full name. She only knew him as Jules. My name is Julian bitten and right now. I'm in a Conway South Carolina. The police drove the woman to Julian Buttons apartment. They wired her with a hidden video camera and audio recorder, and then they gave her a hundred dollars and told her ass. Julian button to sell her marijuana. Julian is black and in two thousand fifteen. He was thirty years old. It was a friend of Mario de time girlfriend it was. She had some problems after father who died, so she had a medical discharge from the military. And she had asked me for some and I gave her some in first, and they told her to come back and buy from me, so that's what she did. The woman came out with what police recorded as approximately seven grams of marijuana. She'd done what the officers asked her to do, but something had gone wrong with the video recording. So they waited a few weeks, gave her hundred more dollars and drove her back to Julian Ben's house. What I didn't expect her to come back and buy. That was kind of strange that she came back and wanted to buy was like okay. We'll hear what that's not naming. are this ain't something is going become a habit? She would for her because I knew her situation I don't know I think I think she was pretty much more scared than anything when police stopped. If, they if she didn't give some if she didn't give a person gave. It's award that she was going to go to jail and Louis, her military benefits. On the second visit. The woman bought approximately eight grams. And there a video recording. This gave officers from the Fifteenth Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit probable cause to get a search warrant for Julian Ben's apartment. The Fifteenth Circuit Drug, enforcement. Unit pulls together. It stated intention is to create a multi jurisdictional multi-agency task force to address major drug enterprises. I spoke with Jennifer Norman who with the Georgetown county chamber of commerce, we called towards downtown the South Carolina coast, everything between Myrtle Beach and Charleston to kind of the beginning of the low country in South Carolina from towns that are in our county our garden city Merle's inlet Shelby Polly's island at Georgetown, gorgeous area. We love it here, and you really close to us. I mean, that's just a fantastic getaway. If you live in the Charlotte area year round, wouldn't you say, yeah, we have a ton of visitors that come from Charlotte. It seems to be a really popular area destination for people that live in the Charlotte area the Debra area and Polly's island. Feel a lot of people own homes have second home or rent vacation homes there for those who want to come down that way where and what activities would you recommend they check into? Well, we definitely want to go out to Polly's island. The island is a tiny little barrier island three miles long a quarter mile wide it. There's two causeways that take you out to the island, and you could rent homes there. But there's also lots of public beach access people can part and walk in a favorite pastime. There is to look for the Polly's island show is very abundant there. It's a special kind of. So people say that if you find a police Allen show that you're blasted. You'll always come back. I love police island, my wife, and I have stayed at the ocean front Litchfield in and that's just a great location. That's one of our only restaurants is on the beach, Georgetown county, so people love if you want that truth sort of beach resort feel that ocean front Litchfield is is the place to be I would highly recommend it. But again. When you've got so many places within your county that folks can go to and enjoy Merle's inlet is an amazing play. We have the Marsh walk there, which connects all the restaurants. There's just so much to do in Merle's inlet very close to their brook green gardens internationally renown for American sculpture. And you know, the side of former rice plantations that's been conserved and has these and sculpture and boat tours and all kinds of things on the walk my neck, which is the area between the welcome. "It's been two weeks since hurricane Florence hit the Carolinas and those states are still dealing with flooding people in South Carolina's Horry, and Georgetown counties are being warned until limit travel. Still is rivers are still flooded the rivers cresting, but there's still no telling how much damage is done because the waters. Have yet to recede.

"Hurricane Florence's long gone except in the Carolinas. Fficials in South Carolina are asking for patience as flood waters from hurricane. Florence continue to move through the state. There's good news for Georgetown county where flooding predictions have gone from five to ten feet down to two to four feet. That's still higher than hurricane. Things further to the east will begin maybe seen some more of these thunderstorms areas. They tell us from New York City Philadelphia Baltimore, Washington DC Ma Boston maybe over toward the Pittsburgh area. We could see some additional thunderstorms was symbolically heavy rain in parts of the deep south and southeast today as well. But most of those would remain below the severe limit. So just your general rod of the bills, showers and thunderstorms. Well, we're still dealing with real issues real problems in the Carolinas. With more than a week after Florence made landfall believe it or not. There are still new evacuations that are taking place around the Carolinas as the swollen rivers that have reached record heights continue to push water further downstream. While the little PD river in South Carolina, crested further upstream. It's still actually above major flood stage. The walkabout river near Conway, South Carolina is forecast to reach a record stage of twenty two feet today at some point Wednesday. And remain above those record levels into the weekend. Multiple meandering rivers such as the PD. The Lynch's the black and the Walker mom all converge on the Georgetown county, South Carolina lowlands, which is where the surge of water will now focus over the next week. They tell us now looking at some of the photo says the waters continue to rise and rise in Conway ahead of the intitiated historic flooding. The Georgetown county South Carolina government issued mandatory evacuations impacting nearly eight thousand people residents who live in flood zones along the intercoastal waterway, the walk them all river the PD river or who live in areas that may not be a flood zone, but may become isolated due to the road conditions. Are strongly urged to consider evacuating for your own safety and the safety of first responders. They parts of the city of Georgetown could see floodwaters ten feet deep, according to the flood mapping service, Georgetown, of course, is located about an hour south west of Myrtle Beach residents in need of avacuated were directed to several areas shelters that have been set up at local hospital. The mayor says the work has been done. Now, we just need to pray law enforcement officials announcing they were sending officers to Georgetown to help with recovery and evacuations. High water rescue vehicles have also been stockpiled and over two million sandbags have been placed on roadways throughout South Carolina. Right now, they tell us over two thousand national guard guard soldiers and airmen have deployed to the PD area to help construct flood barriers and devise secondary plans of action where the the highway seventeen ocean highway bridges converge at walk them, all and the great PD with rivers. Highway seventeen and all the bridges were still open as of Tuesday morning. I guess they had -ticipant that may be changing the AP reported that many store owners, then the city's main business district were clearing out their inventory and moving things to higher ground. Everything is just absolutely nerve wracking there. All right. So it's still potentially in the wake of Florence. A deadly system. The death toll at least forty seven have died across the Carolinas and Virginia from this storm. And it sounds like based on the anticipating flooding into thousands that have been evacuated for those who stay behind. They could run the risk of drowning. Meanwhile, there will be some rains moving into the eastern boast coastal areas of the Carolinas and that would be from our latest invest there is good news over the past twenty four hours. There were some forecast talking about potentially one to three inches of rainfall out of this which would not pay would they they weren't wanting to hear that looks more like at best.
