"I mean you can just look at our odds and all those races was two to three times or two times won the five once. Should she basically did what she had to Our which he was expected to do but speed figure wise. I'm against her. I think the best tour said she probably faced all year. She wound up losing kamari. The one time that she was in a race at head read fractions. I'm against her here. If she beats me. So be it yet. I will just add you. Mentioned for coma and i pretty much agree with your take on him. He showed a ton of talent through the summer this year. But this was not a planned to off coming into the breeders cup. I mean there was talk of him running. And before go it's era toga. Then he was listed as possible for the vasbert. So there have been setbacks with this horse. And yabu has some physical issues coming off long layoffs into graded stakes races. It's just not something that george weaver really does. You can look up the stats and formulator and the samples are so small. He's oh for six. I think in graded stakes off. Ninety day of layoffs are more because he just doesn't do this so i'm a little skeptical of a coma. He does have talent. He's going to be among the shorter prices in this race and he might be one that i liked beat me one question that we got that i think is relevant in this race is how much stock you put in horses that have experienced over race. Track like keeneland. We've got diamond tubes. Coming out of that local prep in the phoenix. Ceesay rocket one here earlier in the year Is that important to you horse. That's handled keeneland before. Because i know we typically see a lot these horses that won the local. Prep take a lot of money wherever the breeders cup is being held. I i won't say it's a factor. I completely ignored. But i would put it. Put a pretty far down the list when i handicap a race. I like to look at some primary stuff. Like current form speed figures. Of course Maybe trips in a look at secondary stuff. Like how i think the pace is gonna develop and i say only secondary. Because that's something you're kind of guessing you don't know what you're gonna be right about it so you don't wanna put all your stock in that basket but forced course i would say is well that may be like a third or four fourth tier tiebreaker. For me now. I will note when horses may be don't like attract so much We've seen examples of that the past where some horses just won't run very well over a certain track and then they've rebound but i've never gone to assume that a horse has an edge just because another horse hasn't run over track before let's move into the late. Pick four sequence covering last four breeders cup races beginning with the breeders cup mile on the turf. And this is another one where you kind of have to weigh the relative merits of the americans and the europeans..

I think she went and fifty one unchanged I told Lauren to go and fifty two. So I just wanted something easy. She hasn't briefed for over a month. And now we're on schedule for the matriarch. Very. "You seventy-five morning line favorite. We. Talked about a couple of other seventy-five liners earlier and Juliet Foxtrot and Monday call this one I think is the lowest price wanted to win and Bonnie South just simply put has been facing the best three year old fillies in the country and not running poorly against them. This field is not nearly like the competition that she saw in the Alabama or the Ashland or the fair grounds oaks. If she gets a decent trip, she's just better than this field seven to five I think is. Way Higher than she should be. She's going to win I think number three so darn hot. Probably. The only chance to beat her race to starts back on a fast track at Belmont when breaking her maiden was very good I don't know if she can beat Bonnie south but I think she has the best chance of beating her. I I agree I think truth hurts has a chance at a huge price in here as well. I'm making to exact as five to five three. Balmy south single. I'm not going to try and beat Bonnie South tomorrow. She's the single of singles I think tomorrow down at at PIMLICO. Especially, if you if you're looking spreading the preakness like it certainly seems I am I I think. You may have a little bit of a strong opinion I'm going to spread. I'm singling Bonnie south making to exact as five to five three and try and get truth her second of the huge number that goes race ten agreed to black eyed Susan alright prices at Belmont. There was your little bonus stakes action of weekend stakes preview, valmont park wrapped up race number eight and wraps our coverage for the day at Belmont ever dangerous I can't believe I'm saying this flag fall to that's all reef stubborn racing and Randy Hill George Weaver Eric can sell was aboard the three year old son Kitten's joy out of the Rocky Mountain. "The victory ride kicks off the stakes action here at Belmont Park tomorrow afternoon grade three early in the caught has just the feel of five phillies. GOING TO GO Six and a half furlongs as for the three year old's warning line favors one francs. Rock Cat Hall of Famer Bill Will Give Fellow Hall of Famer John Velazquez a leg up and this phillies done very little wrong on her career. She's three for seven. With four second-place finishes ran second in a couple of graded stakes, including the grade one spin away up at Saratoga last year last seen winning a third level allowance optional claimer. She uses stakes. Winner took the any limit kick off three year old season three starts back. and. Probably the only reason that this race isn't later in the card is that it's a five Horsfield and Franks? Rakhat is three to five on the morning line, and she may be the the loan speed in race, so she's going to be tough to beat at three to five, but that's a pretty short price, considering there some pretty good up and coming phillies near now I think number four center. I'll I'm going to give her another shot for. For Chad Brown and Joel Rosario Sheila Great Getting Her Maiden Win Gulfstream Park, when bet down to three to five at the end of March then came back in a tough allowance race at Churchill downs where she was really over bet, she was three to five that day against another very impressive maiden winner of this one for Steve Asmussen in casual casual ran a great race that day center I'll had all sorts of problems. She didn't break that well. She had trouble during the race, and she was just really never in at any point. I think it's a racy can kind of draw a line through? If she runs closer to the way she did and her debut. I think she's the one that could give Franks rock cat. The biggest problem Franks rocket will probably get the lead I would think Rosario would have center I'll sitting justin behind her and seeing if they can outgun into the line going six and a half furlongs. With you I'm going to take a shot with center. Rile planner. If? When I plan! Early took five tomorrow I will use both Franks rocket and center, but I'll tell you what I think. You can make a case also for up in smoke was undefeated and sprints. She's four five and a career. Lone blemish came when George Weaver tries to stretch her out Hollywood wildcat. Go at Gulfstream Park. She's raced exclusively of Gulfstream, in fact, steady diet once. Once a month February march April may June now. She gets a race in July. Here over Big Sandy, she wanted the game face overboard last time out for weaver Rod Ortiz Junior. Who wrote her in her debut against fellow Florida breads down at Gulfstream Park's in the climb back aboard for the first time. Since that day looks, you'll need a little help up front if Franks, rockets able to set an easy pace I. She's going to be very very tough. I think Senator I'll be the first one to come calling. Those are the two up in smoke. If you're looking to three deep, I don't think you need to center for Bobby and I race number three goes as the great three six and a half for a long victory ride go to the end of the card. Eleven race card like I said earlier, and the final four races make up an all stakes pick four, and it starts in reasoning with the greed three poker. Flat Mile on the turf for many years. This was the fourth of July staple. On the naira calendar here it is now as part of a super five stakes card. In, the poker though. On the widener, so they come out of that shoot. On the clubhouse turn we get a field of eight entered for the turf as a main track. Only it's all relevant with the way. The weather's been here. I would imagine you know there's supposed to be some rain. We're recording the show Friday afternoon supposed to be some rains rather day on Friday and into the evening. I can't imagine it enough to take this off the turf, so let's say it will be a field of eight.

"The Paddock Hobby said look i. don't think the worst has trouble with the track and the. Derby he said it wasn't bad and. Probably, a quarter was a little further wanted to go that day. And? Maybe wasn't. That is just wasn't as bad. Not He told me in the fat, said the horse it not really. act like a problem with the track on every day. You know as other states so. You know when he said that and he took more than phony of warm-up. Good looks like he was happening while out there on stuff so. in retrospect. Looks like we didn't have a problem with it I wouldn't obviously it's not concern me in the future if we catch probably track. Now. And A couple of a couple of points. George that you, you inferred here, including the distance scenario in becoming in becoming a great at stake winner at two three and four, which is you know certainly nice, and the great one. is the next step up, you know. He won the Nashua as as a two year old, the Bluegrass last year, and now the Carter so he's gone right up the scale but the seven eighths. Talk a little bit about. You know his distance preference because being out of that. Mona de Momma the spikes town mayor I it. It might just be that that this is his game this you know this elongated sprint I know it's going to you know as the year goes on going to be able to make some decisions toward. At six furlongs, or or you know I would think that the mild the dirt miles going to end up being part of the conversation some thoughts about his. You know his tract ability, and you know how you think he's. He's changed from three to four in that regard. Well of course was a late fall. And early on the two, and for year old I would say maybe not the biggest statue horse. You know Not, the heaviest horse and whatnot, but there's a big difference in order that she as far as how much he's filled out. He's like mature and. You just like a man now you don't want was doing three. Maybe have a little bit of boys. Look through them, and now he's he's. He's grown up and go man. So. He's a very impressive. More look at now. And You know as far as distance and all that I always had a suspicion. He was a little better. If one, I didn't know it. And I find best going. Know it, but You know this year. I wanted to come back in. Those type arranged. And see and you know I think all options are open and the year very competent and the Horse in work six a so a mile. And then the question becomes you know. We want you to go beyond that. At amount of things, dominate or further any you know any be as good a horses that different. Big Big Saturday and and really a big week considering the return of racing in New York the five days of action at Belmont and Zuma on Thursday and really everywhere, we looked. Churchill will get to and Santa Anita. Also Gulfstream and in fact George Weaver. WHO JOINS US now? Also won the game face with up in smoke down at Gulfstream but it was the performance of the coma that absolutely. Not just resonated, but resounded and the coma who won a lot of fans last year on Route to classic try. As come back and. Made himself a a prominent. Player. Everyone perseveres, and that included the Clermont Barn that went out yesterday in the afternoon at Belmont. And a pair of races. Richard Li the the bluff team. Including the steak and No matter how you feel about. The Nandi Q. That was. Seemingly A A. At least the mood Lightner to some degree for the Clermont. Barn, Panama earlier in the day and then. Therapist in that first defense the last week of the five day start to the new. York action and the action was tremendous. Will get the. The great one Carter in fact. George will be the first visitor of the morning. The Kalma spectacular. But. Had To. You know just. Send our. just our. Sympathies and Support TAB everybody affected by. Yesterday morning strategy tragedy Going to the racing, and whether it was Friday afternoons. Belmont pick five carryover. Go through that sequence. Then, on Saturday, the the pick six. The force out the. The pick five was. It was a big opportunity for for players player advantage in fact, positive expectation advantage more money. Given back to the players then. Was Bet in. The Friday card and it was it was. Predictably Tricky and Those that made it through I mean we'll get to the specifics. But. Bar In fact involved. In that, too, because that first time starter. Uncle George! With a A big rally boy looked on the turn like there was no way and uncle George kept coming in fact, that was part of junior Alvarado sweeping. The late pick three. which was quite something and the the big name of course from the weekend? From the five days a rat Ortiz. Who just? Insanely. Five just you can't even call it hot. It transcends that. Thirteen for twenty nine. To start. Yes Thirteen for twenty nine thirteen wins in twenty nine mounts. The Saturday. Stakes action and. We'll talk. And the explosive performance. In the Carter. And for George Weaver. I the first grade one for George. One plenty of stakes since Lighthouse Bay one, the prior S in two thousand thirteen, but first grade one for George. Since Lighthouse Bay. Javier Castellano. And a good. Good few days for the air as things get started. At Belmont one with rushing fall of course the bogus opening day. But for combs performance just One of referencing. Several just. Jaw dropping type efforts, and there's been a steady parade of them. In a since, the racing really got back in earnest. Chad Brown having. Tremendous. Tremendous weekend. And still regard in the Fort Marcy. But. It was newspaper of record winning the intercontinental that really. Just. Impossible not to be. Excited and happy to see her come back. As a four year old and Race some of the frustration from from last year. went to the front under a rat and. And just looked like. Her old self. Very very much. She's GONNA head. Looks like the first lady where she annuity may collide seems likely. And in fact, the speaking of the first lady. Keeneland, the with the stakes schedule get to that because I've got a whole series of. Racetrack updates and news. A lot of good news actually. Many layers of it including. Several venues where? Owners are and patrons in some cases are. Going to be able to attend. That continues to expand a lot of incremental. Gain. We'll get to all of that and we'll also get some news that. We can do some reporting on Arlington but. Today a pivotal day. So the I. R. B. Gets. Back with the parties involved, they worked over the weekend. The. And the Orangemen in. Arlington Management Tony Patillo and they have apparently come close, but cannot seem to. Hammer out. An agreement. Arlington did relent on the. Patron question about. Racing even though there might not be spectators. They backed off that original claim. They're willing to open. Even if State of Illinois isn't. Ready to. To Let. SPECTATORS BE INVOLVED So that was A. Concession on their end Some dates things were very close and in fact the thing that they. They came together on if the horsemen would agree to a second year of this. Apparently, that would have gotten it over the top, so we'll see if. The. Illinois Racing Board can. You know maybe pushed the peanut. For both parties today as shit, no more. Later this afternoon watch. WATCH MARCUS URGES UPDATES. Marcus will be. Watching it in listening in I'm sure. So, that's your Arlington Update. Will we should know whether there's going to be racing Arlington this year. By the end of the day. It's possible to believe. In that. Circumstance..

"Horse of the race gets taken off his only dirt race After his first start he's only dirt race with a six and a half length win so he's another good horse but I think it goes through four wheel drive nevertheless so now we're going to go back to golf shrink. Pick it up with three straight as I mentioned. Golf shoots put together some. Nice listed races Friday Saturday and Sunday all have a those listed stakes. And the first one that we're GONNA talk about easy one on Friday the Hollywood wildcat and this is going to bring back one of our favorite pastimes. Specifically Eric's one of his favorite pastimes on here is to not pick totally shape in race. Where she's going to be a big favourite end and the thing about toneless shape is that you know going into the Gulfstream Park Oaks. She was undefeated had answered every question. But there's just always been that aura of uncertainty around her and told US shape kinda showed us why she wasn't why we've all consistently had doubts on her. Her effort effort in that race was not very inspiring left a lot to be desired. Seven place behind a horse. Swiss skydivers gone onto a couple of really good races but Aside from her. You've got some other horses in here up in smoke a horse that I like in this race that she's undefeated three for three for George Weaver This is the first time she does starting to but Her her last three races have been pretty good so she is one to consider also cheer meisters another one that strikes me a- as another one who she's ruined some good races at Gulfstream couple wins lasted out. She was second before that two wins in grade. Three races oh she's got talent as well as some other horse in here that I'll let airtouch but again the thing we're told the shape is she's going to go off favored but you know it's just there's always been that uncertainty around her and you know really whether or not really. I've been reluctant to pick her as of late and I'll continue to be reluctant to pick her. Because you know that the Gulfstream Park didn't encourage me very much about her at all and Jack.

"The mud. George course with the horse become who had a dominating victory in the blue grass stakes last month. George how does this feel there's nothing like the wall over for Kentucky Derby? The conditions are a little. A little bit different. But I'm still loving it. George would've felt the conditions that change your race tactics and your discussion with your writer now he's gonna before placed look like the tracker is not. But we're going to be we're going to be up there close should be if well up to heavier and horse all the words done, and I'm going to sit back and enjoy the ride. Thanks so much best of luck. Thank you. Jeff bloom with George Weaver and Kirk George Weaver, a native of Louisville. This has to be very special for him. Only the second time he has run a horse in the Kentucky Derby, Gary, I'm curious coma was fold on may twenty second early in the three year old year. Maybe not quite as mature as some of these horses that were fold in February or March or January with that be concern as far as competitiveness in this race today. I don't think so looking at just last Tracy bluegrass stakes the field was questionable. But in saying that heat beat a questionable field like a good horses supposed to beat that quest of field of talent win win win. He had a little bit of traffic problems in there. He was coming running late. But no an answer you question. This coats pretty mature right now. The walkover continuing here at Churchill Downs. Racetrack has plenty of moisture in it. Now, the rain beginning to let up, but it's still a bit soggy here at the down after noon when we return a conversation with hall of fame trainer Bob Baffert as he tries to make history here today in conjunction with NBC sports. You're listening to the two thousand eighteen Kentucky Derby on Westwood One. Feel the excitement..

"It's kinda spreads them out a little bit. And from a handicap point of view, I'm gonna look from best shot to to get there. We don't have enough points to get in right now. I need to get. There. So I don't need to find the most difficult race. You know, a lot of the motive on the bluegrass is I think that we can beat these horses. You know, I think it's an I really think that it is an easier race than what the Florida derby was. And I know that the Kentucky Derby is not going to be easy. But I need to get. I don't get the points. I can't get there. So I'm just looking to to get to, you know, take my best shot at winning a million dollar race and get into the derby. And I like providence second factor. I like an extra week off the off the layoff race, you know in a horse runs. Big off the layoff. I I never have luck bringing about too quick off of that. So I figured extra week helped us here going into the bluegrass, and it would have be in between Florida derby and the Kentucky Derby if that had happened. So anyway, I'm happy the decision. I think it's a no brainer. You're very old school guy. I love it. I mean, you you you take your time. You put thought into what you do. And you're not just interested in win as many big raises? You can't as fast as you can. I mean, that's very rare. In today's business as far as the Kentucky Derby concern. Well, I don't we just don't have that many horses come into our bond with this kind of caliber we've been lucky over the last few years, we've got fill it. It's on the oaks trail that she you know, she may or may not get in. And we have that mayor dad is legend, really mayor. But we just don't have that. We don't get that many opportunities. So I feel like I have to manage them. You know, I can't just be willy nilly and just throw them in racist. For no reason, I think we have to be more deliberate and try to plan maximize. What we have we we really think of a coma regardless of what he does today as a potential candidate. And you know, we just wanna make all the right moves with them. And you know, it's not a it's not a perfect game. You never just so many factors. You can't you can't count for. But we feel like we made the right choice, which is looking for to see in abroad talk. You a trainer George Weaver here on the horse racing radio network. The coma. Nine to five on the morning line. Today's Toyota bluegrass stakes again, you'll hear the bluegrass. "Pretty heavy, but he'll eat it all up to me. And you know, we're just going to see how things work out is the next week or so all that comes out of it. And. So, you know, you know, this when you pull this kind of stuff, you can't really get fell in your path, and you got problem, and you know, so we'll try to keep him where we don't get a stronger pace. I love it. Well, this was this was certainly a fun lead up. There's a lot of interesting things going on. And and you know, I started the conversation about the fountain of youth this morning shook saying that pretty much everybody, I thought acquitted themselves. Well, I mean when you look at that order a finish. I mean, the the inexperienced horses. Stand standoff, you know, with global campaign and the second time starter from Judd Mont and Bill Motte absolutely ran courageous race. And I think you had very satisfying pretty satisfying running this. Well, I agree with Steve I think that you'll look up and when we look up at Saratoga time or next fall. Some you're to look back in the news and say, you know, this was pretty pivotal race. When you've got Mark four Fran really good race. And you know, mean hidden scrolls up against it. You know, making a second start, you know, that kind of pace, and you know, the Horsa George Weaver Smith scout. Man ran ran a really really good race. So I think you know, Barney anything happened and all those are going to be horses. We'll look up and say look at them and saying horse. I see where graduate self gonna give them a time. But you know, he's very town very talented horse, and he'll be mothers come out and race. He'll be okay to you know, I think it'd be dreamer better than what he ran the other day. And so thanks like I say, I think we look up a little bit later on down the line. We'll. Say well that was pretty good race. Well, and in fact, when we as we get closer here toward the end of the the winter season at Gulfstream feels like we're gonna look up and and say this has been a pretty good winner for the mcgahey barn. And we'll talk about some of the other recent maiden winners you've been winning races on a regular basis. This winter show. Let's talk about some of the runners from Saturday that that various degrees is success Felix the FOX it's gonna break maiden real soon. And the, you know, this is a horse..
