"Still is is is something that's pertinent. I just think relationships this business is about relationships. And knowing that everybody you see on the way up here are the same people you're gonna see on the way down so the guy. Who is the intern or the board op or the pa on television. Treat them all nice because when you get to the top wherever the top is for you and eventually we all come down. You're going to see those people in one of those people may be your boss. You know how. Many i that that have worked for me. As producers over the years are now running stuff. I mean a decent amount so the fact is that is create real personal relationships. Be okay with being uncomfortable when asking for feedback and someone telling you Being honest with you and telling you something's good or something stinks and the other part. Is that being nice to everybody man. Because you never know who your boss is going to be. Wise words from george sodano. I appreciate our relationship being able to put up the bat signal. Is Zion Living Up to the Hype for the Pelicans?

"Were in Dallas for the pelicans overtime loss to the Mavericks. Second night of a back to back for New Orleans obviously but we didn't see the Zion. We've sort of been spoiled by over the last month. So what did you get from Zion? On Wednesday night. I saw someone who had to go through a little bit of adversity. There's two different things working against him in that Dallas Game One. It was the first time he played on a back to back. You didn't see his legs under him. Early actually play but gets the block on Williamson Williamson. Took his time getting up court. You may be subbing out of the ball game here. He is drew and Lonzo Ball. We're GONNA come on up to him. Hey man you you're right you you tired. Are you going to play? You GotTa pick one. The other thing. Going against him was Dallas they started Maxi Kluber alongside of kristaps porzingis specifically for Zion Williamson two. That might have been forcing a psychotic burst that is just perfectly played deep that still by Dallas Cleveland's doing A. They went to the formula. That's been working. Which is the. We're GONNA get the tallest guy we have can defend him to do it. And then have another seven footer. Awesome plus footer at the Rim Ryan got blocked inside again. It's not possible in less. Cleber is being this physical and allowing time for kristaps ticket over there. Lieber six ten obviously porzingas seven three. Those have been the only really match ups that have given him problems when they played the box. Janas guarded him and then you have the Lopez twins behind him. Protecting the RIM defers Lakers game. Anthony Davis guarded him. And you had jovial and Dwight rim so that combination kind of went against his favor so walk me through a little bit of the process on the back to back portion of it because this is obviously part of the Adjustment For Zion. So where do you find the line? If you're the PELICANS in trying to get him experienced doing things like back to backs that he'll be asked to throughout his career and then also sort of adjusting him since he is still getting fresh on the court after an injury yeah so initially David Griffin the PELICANS executive vice president of basketball operations who should have a shorter title. It's a mouthful say every time I don't know I mean if you're going to have a title let's go big with it like if I'm going to have a business card the whole front of it's going to be my title and the backs. Just going to say fits. There's not not my first name. Just I'm pretty sure that's what his business card says. I haven't seen one but I'm pretty sure that's it has to read like that initially As I was coming back from the injury. Grif said he wasn't there. Were probably going to take it easy on back to backs. Now the good thing that kind of worked into their favor there was January. Twenty second was when he made his debut since then the Tuesday Wednesday back to back that they just had was the first time they had a back to back so they got to let him get games under his belt. He mentioned to his own Tuesday. You know I have to do the recovery if I want to perform the way that I'm capable of performing as you try to push for or is this your mutual agreement Little bit of both but I need a push for myself because I gotTa do the recovery of I want to be able to perform. We do every night with that. Being said coming off the knee injury there were reports that he was learning how to walk differently. How to run differently? I mean when they're watching him and they're monitoring and what are they looking for his indicators of his health very funny to me because I think George Sodano said that I think on ESPN broadcast and it just kind of blew up. He's learning how to walk and anybody who's been through physical therapy at any point that I for any sort of knee. Injuries foot injury. Whatever it is can tell you. They will relearn how to walk in physical therapy. The learning how to walk and run differently was more about little things in his gate that they wanted to fix. The biggest thing that they really wanted to correct at that time was how he landed when you go back and watch how he landed at. Duke with these huge one handed slam traffic. He's landing on one foot one of the big things you see. Now when he goes up for a dunk whether it's an alley whether he's just throwing it down to hands. He tries to land on two feet as much as possible. Zeile yeah that the to hand flush and a great entry fee for Lonzo Ball over Kunst buck to finish that would KUPA gotta be thinking. What in the world so. It's little things that maybe you don't know at nineteen years old that the Pelicans are trying to instill in him so they can take a little bit of stress off of his knees. The biggest thing you just said is nineteen if you listen to Zion. He'll make sure he tells you. He's nineteen in just about every other interview. I feel like I mean but doesn't right like we are so busy trying to make him either the savior of a lead. That doesn't need to be saved or the reason that we're over. Hyping somebody to the point that people ridicule how much we talk about it but you look at it at some point. Say this is a nineteen year old kid. We're talking about that is absolutely crushing in a limited sample size. So let's turn the tone positive here for a second you're looking at a nineteen year old kid. What he's doing is unprecedented right. It's absolutely unprecedented. Feel like every other night we were finding ways to start a sentence with Zion Williamson. Doing something and we ended it with Michael Jordan or Shaquille O'Neill or Tim Duncan or wilt. Chamberlain the goes on and on and on. And you're like that doesn't make sense.

"At the radio station. Entercom the big radio. Yeah, that's the hawk went on Jimmy Fallon in crack jokes about the team get tickets. They gave him weight took away tickets. They come across very small when you try to dictate stuff like that. And by the way, at the end of the day, the pen is mightier than the sword. You know What what I'm I'm saying. saying? Like that's the thing that if you're a professional sports franchise. You should be careful what you do, because at the end of the day, people have television time and know. Job time and microphones, right, dark energy, good, energy returning, a page in trying to establish a new culture and you hear this banning the daily news. I agree with. I mean, this is America in twenty nineteen and we're banning major American newspapers. Just like there's ways of as a card holding member of the fourth estate. There are ways. It's not actual. Yeah. Yeah. Create cards if you want. NBA. There's an MBA mediocre. We'll get you in the Lia. Good. Marriott's. Thanks benefit. But I, I just think that never goes well for the team, and it's a slippery slope, because the best analogy I can ever give people is the media is like a beast, you either feed the beast or the beast eats. You remember whatever would ever remember Dallas Mavericks, SPN? They ban like I was in McNall. That was ridiculous garbage dark energy, and look what happened to their off and stuff, then on that last very long though, I have set with how I get aggregate, we had a whole segment, the show where I was venting about aggregation. Do you know what I do? Everyone is what I get mad every once in a while. Be like I'll send them a direct message and I'll say I did not actually say this. Can you be? I don't even say what to do with it. I said, I said this, that's all. And then usually they immediately like apology. Oh my God. So sorry my bad. I'll delete, the tweet whatever. You're so say run the word Do like. you do you have any idea how bad that aggression plays when you don't completely make up words that I didn't say, but, but, like I, I don't fire back and I just right? Like you're saying, Sarah killer. Hey, listen. This is the part that you said that inaccurate and that's it right back. And you say, thanks, it wasn't even angry. It was just like one line. It's like one line. This is wrong. This is exactly what I said. And they there's usually along one. And then you say and then you say something along the lines of thanks have a nice day. But you don't like go in like no. How it works. Think accountability is good. I I appreciate it. When teams call us and they complain about something being wrong. That's how you handle that. You don't ban people. You call somebody and say, we believe that this is an accurate while you're reporting. Good. I always tell players to do that. If they think something is out there, about them that they didn't say or is is wrong. Tell someone. I wanna make a point. Now you don't as he rose. It's friday. You're no more straight laced. Do the whole show exactly. How old show mix for is the Sodano show. It has been lions it is George Sodano who you got Jay Bilas, Seth Greenberg, and maybe some other guests, perhaps surprises. May maybe maybe RJ. Monday. We are back noon to three as you Momo. No, I think you got Brian here, Tuesday and Wednesday shale, oh. You'll be here Monday. We'll be here Monday. "Look what's the dump button? I want to apologize. If you got mad like if I made you feel offended or uncomfortable, clearly, it was a prank and they went wrong. I'm sorry about that. That's that you don't need the rest will start cursing pursing. Yes. But I say that's one of the mess. That's the only message that I save. I save the George Sodano mess. That was very. I just enter that into your soundboard. Yeah. The message. I apologize that was very I was being very contrite. They're like I was really upset that you were upset that point. And then somehow or other. I was able to forgive because, you know, forgiveness makes you home. Yeah. I was able to forgive. And now we've built the alliance. Yes, we have the alliance. I see mostly in the same way again. Well, it started with the incompetence of rob Pelinka. Okay. That's where it began. Yeah. And now it's like it's just we accidentally agree on almost everything. The only thing we haven't agreed on recently was Drake. You were very anti very antidrugs, and which is very surprising. Still to this day. He just touch the coach, he he annoyed me at do. Not Nick Batum stars during the game. I mean such is nice. Yeah. It is. All right, thanks. We'll see a little bit. That was a top three track question it was, it was how I was like, what am I going to do with this team? Lillard Marvin Bagley. Yeah. Kill good way. There's one more thing. Yes. I did bring you a peace, offering to. That's right after Christmas card. I forgot about that five dollars. Thirty dollars. Two for medicinal purposes..

"Purgatory time. You're listening to Caspian Los Angeles, George Sodano here and Andy Chemnitz here. We've got both cabinets skis cabinets guy. Yeah. That's right. That's right. So we've determined today George the Greg he threw in the towel. Okay. On magic. I'm going to get headphones can somebody giving head file. That's all right. I just played a sound effects. I know Greg grabbed the microphone Greg. You don't you don't need to hear me talking. When you've got five people. You hear him talking more? There are lots of us here headphones. Now You you can can hear me. me says you've got headphones now. So it's okay. Thank I'm trying to pump up Greg's career little bit. Good. Look, I was willing to put Showtime forum on the line. Yup. For why? Are you giving me there was no? I mean you got you got to do the victory parade. You've got to be one of Georgia. Georgia. Help for for help for. All Showtime forum. Yeah. Makes. Time for the help anymore. Sunday was like all Bergman right? No took Berkman. What are the can I see the sheets on on on Showtime? Forum. Can we see the financials the financial books? Yeah. Those are undercover. Is there an IPO coming soon? Not not just yet. But could be soon. I'm not letting anybody in the past empire. Right. Hey, someone's got to do these things. That's all when you cook your books, Greg, for ROY, as you can tell I have so much money from all from everything that I'm doing that. I'm stealing internet. So I know by the way, your troubles is the worst news. So NBA streams on Reddit, which is where everyone had all the links to watch games for free is gone. It's been shut down. What are you going to do? Now. I've already looked it up. It's gone. Yeah, there's apparently there's maybe a way to get around it. But I'm screwed. Let me know because I'll alert NBA in New York. Don't do those things. I'm not even talking about comunities watch me. Oh, I don't know what you're talking. They're still dodger games idea what you're saying on Reddit. He's our words read it baseball streams. Hugh is baseball. MLB streams. I don't understand. I want. He is higher. Cost money Shay. He's probably pirating your film. Look, he trust me. I trust baseball. Maybe America's pastime but everybody Greg watches with refers to each other as comrade. Again. You're, you're speaking about things. I have no clue. What these mean? Yeah. You're going to get scurvy. Don't worry. We're talking earlier yesterday was the twenty fifth anniversary of the. Carcase where, where were you fight on on? So I was nine thousand nine hundred with the fight fight on. Yeah, he's following USC. Is on his following USC. I was home on a Friday night old or you. I mean, ninety four I was probably like sixteen me too. Yeah. Probably. Yeah. Sixteen I was home. I was watching the NBA finals. Yeah. And all of a sudden, Bob Costas was on a split screen and then was OJ the finals got minimized to the corner of the right. I mean, I know Jays white Bronco and driving down the four zero five or whatever it was five oh, the five you go wishy washy freeway, by the way, it's either really packed or nobody's, but he did wind up on the four. Oh five because he exited at Wilshire. Oh, that's right. To go to Brentwood. So there you go thing ended up like alternately, an unintentional travelogue for LA like you really if you were following this thing you saw all of LA it was great for tourists. I want to go there. Now, honey. Let's new LA like I knew LA I lived there for four four years to that point. You're watching them going like, oh, wow. He's there. Oh, wow. Like you get a sense of just how are you on him? Yeah. How much older for years. Going to say like four minutes. Ryan's saying you're never realized that people don't know. "Get us a championship. And if we get a championship that's worth giving up those assets, it is harder to get title than it is to accumulate asset. You're probably gonna have to move what probably have to move Jason Tatum. Jalen brown. Maybe Marcus slamming. It'd be one of the other. So let's say Jayson Tatum Marcus smart a couple of picks. Maybe like a Rosia or something like that. I know something else that goes into that mix there's nothing else there in Boston. So just just on the on the level right there, Anthony Davis and Jalen Brown is not winning you a championship. And so. Anthony Davis and Rich Paul in his article on sl now was saying he is not staying in Boston. You had his dad just a couple of months ago saying Mona was here when that happened. Right. With saying that I don't want him in Boston writ everyone's saying he wasn't rich policy. I want him in LA essentially without saying it, it, there's just no reason. I it would be silly for Danny aims to do any the bring him in without Kyrie. Unless he's got another move that we don't know yet. Right. That's the thing he, he would it be Kemba. I mean he's gonna stick around with Kemba it'd be Butler, Jimmy is that going to is that going to get it done for you. I don't think I don't know Jimmy and Anthony Davis. Don't do it for me. I don't think that takes, I would agree. I think the Lakers drivers. I think Anthony Davis is coming here. "We've built this whole summer of change such a knee. Only move or kyri and Kemba Walker the lease dramatic Jimmy Butler as stays Kemba is the one that there are reports now that the, the Hornets are not going to offer him a max contract well for him because he made all NBA magazine contract is two hundred and twenty million. Yeah. He's not worth that. Yeah. Twenty-one is the number that remember there's a there's a little ago Shing room in there. If they offer him the most any other team can offer is like one, forty so they cannot from one seventy five would still be more than anybody else. Yeah, yeah. But we'll see. Michael Jordan's never really paid max skies. He's never really had a need to. But now he does. So we'll see what do you think him is, is what's he worth on the open market? My guess is not I don't think the, the Hornets are going to offer him, the supermax, which means he he becomes a completely of it. I think on its may offer him like seventy five I think the Knicks would give them one forty. Yeah. New Year's one forty. He's in New York kid, and you could put them together with Durant, right, conceivably, right or R J Barrett. Or or know what the Knicks didn't get the Knicks Knicks rate, the three. Okay. Yeah. Next got the three. So the R J Barry. Yep. So we'll we'll see. It's there's so many fascinating moving parts that we're going to be. Following in the next few weeks. All right. It's purgatory time. "I mean it's just game three of series that has already split so. No, it's absolutely not a month, Israel. I think mentally it is, I think there's no recovering from. Hey, we're gonna lose this game without Katie. With if Klay Thompson with the iffy Andre Iguodala and we can't win this game. I think that's going to really do something to. There's no question really this is absolutely must win. Iggy is a little dinged up Claes dinged up K D may be returning and game for if you can't win with the warriors this depleted. You're gonna be in trouble trying to get a split. Oracle we'll in this damn well better win. Bob who do you have them? Well, better winning. I got the I have total faith in warriors resilience and ingenuity and depth. They're gonna be one word less. Yes. Is that wasn't an answer? Good ears. Do you got tonight? Rap and George. I got the rafters we move on Stephen a Smith saying the nets the babord link urban I read this weeks ago for of nets daily, and, you know, I go to a guy named Puccio for my sourcing knowing my family, we call the gravy, Israel, would the nets be the fresh start hiring needs. What do you think of this? I mean, is it a fresh start when he's going from one team, where he was the lead guy and didn't really perform as much at least not to other people's expectations and going to another team where he's probably going to have to do the same thing unless you're talking about the nets bringing in another guy to be his number two, if you will, to be his psychic, but if he's going to go there and try to be the lead guy and take team to an Eastern Conference championship. So the finals at cetera. We've seen a lot of that we've seen him attempt that with Boston and it didn't work out. Plus you've got the injury prone situation. I don't know if it's going to be a fresh start. We need to see a full successful season from Kyrie Irving, the number Israel, you have any read or hearing anything here is Brooklyn, the number one doesn't Asia the favorites. I'm not hearing anything more than Stephen Smith is here. But if you look at it, I thought the second aproach had this two weeks ago, George Sodano are the nets the favorites lead, Kyrie Irving. Yeah, I believe. So as a matter of fact, a month ago or so on this show. Tony, we talked about the nets being in the conversation. So I think Puccio stolen. Yes, we did report. Okay. Let's get away for this for second. We'll come back to George Bob the idea of kyri with the Brooklyn nets as make sense. Would it be a fresh start for him? It makes sense, but not in a sense, terms of fresh start. He will never have a fresh start because entire career he will go from team to team. And every time he leaves one, they will say, we couldn't figure that guy out. He's never gonna change people. I'm sorry. You're going to have to be what's your read on your rate on ROY? Yeah. I don't think you can read kyri. I think Bob's absolutely right. You're talking about player who couldn't get to the play offs in Cleveland gets to the finals Windsor. Ring is the star playing next raiders player on earth, and doesn't want to stay there. Now goes to the Celtics much is expected of him a great team there. And now he's seems to be disgruntle in once another start..

After she smoked. So he started a marijuana business. And now he's a mogul and his company is worth somewhere near billion dollars. It's crazy. I know happy fiftieth birthday to Sesame Street. "Now granted the Lakers brand is so strong that I would say, it'd be hard to tarnish, but nonetheless, you deserves credit for maintaining it as the premier sports franchise, maybe even in the world arguably, so there's that now here, the shortcomings, she's not her father in this sense. And what Dr bus was great at was he can make clear-cut decisions when necessary. I'll go back to something more recent shocking Toby. Right. He made the decision, you know what check fine? You want out you're out. We're gonna ride with Tobey, and that couldn't have been easy decision. And then he was able to bring everyone together while dealing with the turmoil. Of Kobe potentially wanting out all that stuff came out after the fact. So there were a lot of things that Dr bus dealt with the other thing he was really good at was hiring the right people and letting them do their job while still having final input. You still the owner like any other owner, you gotta sign that you get to sign the checks, you get to have final say, but again, it was a really good balance of making the decisions when necessary and allowing people to do their job, and hiring having the foresight to hire the right people. Jeanie doesn't have those qualities. She hires people that are her friends because she feels comfortable around them. She doesn't necessarily feel comfortable comfortable going outside of her circle of trust, and hiring someone who warrants the job based on their resume, and their experience and their successes. And I think that you just kind of look at what happened with the Lakers when she took over. She hired her brother or brother, actually, this is wasn't her phone. The dad wanted to separation of the business in the basketball, and gym was running basketball. She was running business. Now it was very courageous of her to outsor- brother. But since then, she no longer has a shield because there was a separation between church and state with Jim running basketball and her running the business, she didn't get any of the criticism. It was Jim bus. We've got that criticism. But once he was out of the picture, then it was her decision making. She put magic in place. She put Robin place. She put two guys to work together in the front office would never worked in a front office and didn't even have a relationship with each other. And now one of those gone she left the other novice in place and surrounded him with war novices in the front office. So these decisions are coming down on her, and she is starting to take more, and more heat. All of this starts at the top man, any great organization has to have a synergy from the top to the bottom, and her lack of leadership is now permeating through the organization at the moment. He is George Sodano George, we appreciate you spending some time with us tonight..

"Are back pound for pound Hawaii. Leonard is the best player in the NBA Friday night, tough loss for the rockets even tougher one for Kevin Durant. I don't know. What got what caught up in the moment? Sounds like, but I'm pretty certain. I heard it after game six when the warriors owner said he wants Stephan clay to be warriors for life. The rockets owner that our time is going to come perhaps it will. But I promise you this. If it does Chris Paul won't be there to see it. Congratulations to Chris Paul for doing what he's supposed to do every game. All the men who. Live in my community who I know to be married that I saw playing golf Sunday morning on mother's day. One question. How? Share your secrets with me. Seriously. How'd you pull that off Ben Simmons? Go lock yourself in a gym game. Six rockets warriors the rare game with a series started and ended, Dan. You know, was you know, what V O G E L K I D D spells it spells it spells disaster. George Sodano saying the reason the Lakers didn't hire Jason Kidd head coach was because of criticism received from George Sodano, George. I love you. But good God. This Stu gods is strong. And you Zach Collins glue guy Zach college does nothing. Well, but does everything okay. Zach Collins has now made as many conference finals as Chris Paul so has mohawk. Liz Meyers Leonard beefcake Meyers Leonard looks like a guy named Meyers Leonard. CJ McCollum more like CJ McCollum James hearted. Chris Paul pulled off the impossible something even tougher than actually beating that they made the warriors likable by comparison report. Kyrie Irving has thought about joining the Lakers. What does that mean was it a single thought was he deep thought it was an a fleeting thoughts? I get into this reporting game. Here's what I'm reporting just about every player in the NBA at some point in his life has thought about joining the Lakers fair thought about it doesn't mean it's a great report, though, proud of whatever put that out. There James harden says he knows how to beat the warriors quote. I know exactly what we need to do. James? You probably should have known that before the series. Yup. Heyday. I hope you sat there watched how good that team is without you realized how unfair it was for you to join that team. And now of a better understanding as to why you have no rings. Also, I love you please Cup. You're the best player in the world. Pretty please. I'm sorry..

"You take the time out on a Friday and chill out with us as we try to figure out the future of the Lakers. We really appreciate it. Meaning is here, and you know, this Lakers whole situation Meena, I know you're new to LA it's just so fascinating to me. Because I would think that they would learn from the mistakes of the past in order to redefine their future and just the idea of well, we have to bring in somebody who's a Laker and part of our family. And no, let's move past that, you know, the fact that they didn't even pick up the phone and call David Griffin is really interesting to me like I genuinely am confused by that. So all right getting a little bit of cognitive dissonance here because you're saying really liked that we're not hearing stuff you complimented the Lakers. But you don't like how they're going about it. You didn't like that? They didn't call Griffin. So their stuff coming out that you don't like. But you do like that not everything's coming out. I would have liked to have heard when David Griffin was a now. Ounces the Jia the president of basketball pelicans. Then I can find out that the Lakers. Okay. After the fact here about we're going to call David Griffin. We're dialing the number. Yes. We just spoke to like don't tell to me in real time. And now's your point about the Anthony Davis stuff that it was in real time. Hey, Liaoning, Cumulus hitting brilliant. That was the worst thing that happened. I mean, a lot of terrible things happen the Lakers season last year many beyond their control, obviously all of the injuries. But that was what killed the season. And not just the the thing is like, right. Even if nothing got out there knowing your trade, Anthony Davis, even if the Lakers had made it squeaked into the playoffs. They wouldn't know what we know. They wouldn't have one right? But that was in the way that all went down was embarrassing. It was damaging to not only the reputation of the team. But also the standing of the young. Players how they felt about the team. I think that's all absolutely valid, and I my concern now is as the Los Angeles enters free agency this year, the most probably one of the most important junctures in Lakers history. Oh, I it's going to determine the future of the team is that gonna continue to resonate is that going to continue to hang over the organization. We'll see we'll find out in the weeks to come. That's for sure. And joining the Sodano show right now from Orlando is George Sodano. Hey sodano. We just love your walk-off interview with PASCAL siato. Haven't seen him. Do a walk off interview in the playoffs. Tomorrow..

"The go-ahead jumper late Leonard Siachen both that big games for Toronto. But it was a veteran point guard drilled the biggest shot of the game. Here's DJ five pack is right back to Augustine to why the claw right up on a defensive player. Twice orange extended Augustine five issue. He's gotta find something. He will tree straightaway aunt up. It's how the longhorns triple. Try ES sir, magically one oh, four one one three seconds left in the game. Call ninety six nine to game TJ Augustine. It is eleven NBA season drains, the tiebreaking game winning three with three and a half seconds left. As the magic stunned the raptors one oh four to one on one game. One I stayed with ESPN's George Sodano after the game one win. This upset about that. We just haven't would add to ready to fight man from from start to finish as a great team over there. If some great players, and we knew the team effort, and so we did tonight. You you hit that game winner take me through that possession. And what you were thinking we wanted to get role with Marcus. So I on me and when I saw him switch on me. I knew Mark Wednesday in front of me. So backed up a big gaming since. And I started considering you guys ended the season so strong. You're arguably one of the best teams in basketball since the trade deadline. How much does that help you tonight? The man nobody expected today. Nobody expected us to be here. Nobody tonight. So we believe in each other. We believe in you believe in the team. And that's all that matters. We're just playing great. And we're gonna keep going. What about for you personally? There are people in this league is said he's not a starter. He's a backup player your a starter for a playoff team that won game one on the road. How satisfying is that for you this great man, I've been all my life. I'm still here you hear eleven and just still fighting, man. And I don't care about me. We don't care about him for the about the team, which is fine everyday. Try to pull out a upset you.

"I mean, I'm sure he's okay. But his his game is going to have to change completely. He did pretty well, you mass, you know, when he didn't have one in Duns. Although didn't he have was was Marcus Camby a one and done or was he a two year guy to year guy. Yeah. Yeah. No. I'm not worried about him. You're listening Caspian, Los Angeles. I'm now, I'm not worried about Cal. I think he'll probably be fine. Yeah. I think he can adjust to whatever the world into the big George Sodano poker game. Well, you know, it's for people in the league. Oh is it really league poker game? So who's there like Ramona? I don't believe Ramona. Is there it's I think it's just the guys. I mean. Yeah, there's mcmenamin I believe in horse wind horse. That's my friend weird. From Wendy does Wendy doing? I know he scares stop by today. He did he was in here. He was he was saying some things are you all what was he? What was he saying? He said that was the one thing that he said that really stuck out. Oh, he was talking about. About the coaching search, and we were talking about how the Lakers just need to be thorough. Not simply be even if they know who their candidate is that he says, you just have to just for reconnaissance, right? Like just a gain in for disagree. What other teams are doing which I think is he says look other teams do that. The Lakers have not necessarily done that they've just gone with the guy. They want to hire. Yes. He's right. Although that the Laker coaching opening if it does open up is going to like, for example. The tide. Lou is is is you most people think is I mean Vegas Juwan Howard. But Tyler who is the seven to one pick two one four two one weird to suggest they might be better off using someone who's not a former Laker. I don't think being a former Laker should be should matter. He wack requisite shouldn't matter coat rate, disqualify you. Either know, right? Yes qualify. You just get the guy who's the best for the job. Yeah. Whether I would say that with college jobs too. It's like you see USC all in the family. We've always got higher Stanley mean. Mean Pete Carroll? Goes you hire lane. Then you hire Sar stop. Yeah. Enough. All right AD's, Pat Haden because he played Lynn Swann's. It's like, you know, find the best person. It doesn't matter. If they've got ties some of the great coaching jobs coaching hires. There have been zero t has no ties whatsoever. Don't make that a prerequisite. Right. What do you got today? How do I get into the poker? Again. That's still I don't know. It's not my poker game to invite poker game. It's wendy's. It's windy and get into that. Tie. You're don't even up campaigning tight George by the way at Bandon for intend to tweet him. George jewelers for you, my friend. Yeah. Concession speech. Let's hear oh, listen, I knew I was losing to you. I tried the tiny play the race. I mean, I tried that he had better. Although I did get one guy who copied Jeanie Buss who said Ireland hates Brown people. How can you employ him at the? Oh, where to guy that's funny. And I went yet. That's our audience. Go right for the throat that might be a little too far. That was a little far I feel like that's you took us down that road. Like, you can't you can't be surprised if that's where at least I like to call it identity. Politics, clearly isn't done it. Yes. Weeding Brian Windhorst right now trying to get into that. Ain't gonna work. But now see now I have to go up against key. Yeah. So I think like doing real a real election George now that you're out of the race..

"Saddam show here on ESPN LA many times Kirk Morrison hanging out with us. Happy to have them here with us today. We'll get to what the hell do expect from the dodgers rotation here with Kershaw not being available for opening day in about fifteen minutes. Speaking of baseball, though, so the last couple of weeks I have been privy to four year old T-ball. And I will say this. Honestly, maybe the most entertaining our of sports I've ever watched a lot of comedy with four year old T-ball there is there was a video. I tweeted out and I put on my Instagram, George Sodano ESPN a couple of weeks ago, and maybe two weeks ago, maybe less, but anyway, there was a play at third base where my daughter who is playing. The pitcher position which is not really a pitcher position in D ball. There was a kid standing next to her near the mound who was technically the shortstop. And then there was a kid at third base down the line. And as the ball dribbles down the line, my daughter and the shortstop. Chump on the ball. And all you see in the video out of nowhere literally out of left field in this case. Just in front of third base is the third baseman literally throwing his glove at the ball. Try to stop the ball. It is some of the best comedy. And then my daughter grabs the ball. And instead of throwing the first base she decided to throw home for whatever reason. So anyway, it's just really funny to watch. I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would be that entertained by four year old Tibo. But I honestly think it's a pretty good hobby. And I may just randomly show up to your four year old t ball game on just because there's a lot of comedy involved than I was I laughed the entire hour. I watched a lot of instruction. You know? A lot about say what about how many how many kids per team? They're like ten kids per per team. So you probably got about forty parents out there. Maybe little gift take. Yeah. Give or take. So. Yeah. The forty different parents possibly like given different, you know, commands directions throat like I could just see the kids now thought throw it to fires. Yeah. One kids just run. So you hear run here throat is it can be confusing point. I didn't now I try my best to be quiet in those situations. Okay. I have I've the only time I will approach my daughter near the dugout. We'll just be like, hey, make sure you're listening to your coaches like that is my thing when she plays there when she plays soccer to which four-year-old soccer, by the way, also funny to watch. But that is kind of my thing..

"For people that have been fans of ours since pretty much day one George Sodano from ESPN you've seen him on the sideline interviewing pop. He's at an ESPN Los Angeles subscribed to as podcasts, you you've promise. An open. Bar tab. I have in in Los Angeles you'd have to actually fly Los Angeles. What's a barometer March ninth? Meantime, and I who's also on the show regularly is we've decided top twenty now I had peaked at thirty four. But then I went on vacation having we all. Yeah. And then I went on vacation. So I'm I think right now I'm out of the top two hundred because I've been on vacation for a while. But I think we can get in the top twenty because that'd be cool because it'd be like Libertad and friends at Jason. Let's give you the rub. Yeah. So people, especially if you're out on the west coast because you should actually listen to a show. Hell do the subscribe thing to shoot blaming review? Let's let's inflate those numbers a little bit. But actually give show a shot because he has a lot of voices. Come by. Julia Stewart Binks was air. I in studio. It means often a contributor in studio with you the entire format is basically since podcasts are becoming so big. It's basically more podcast the than it is a traditional radio show because guess the guest co hosts are there every day we switch around different people. And then. People will come in and out of the studio all the time because we have right? We're at ESPN LA is always people there. Whether it's like, Rachel Nichols or whoa, JR. Or whatever whoever kind of roles through their Clinton Yates actually gonna stop by on Thursday. That's awesome. So George, and I have been friends forever. We use to bump into each other at the grove Benjamin grove pop, and how should I bring back the grove, by the way, it's gonna was dead dude the killing and with all the construction. However once a year we bring that bleep back. Yeah. Yeah. Nothing is ever going to be like Notre Dame? We yeah. But if I see week we brought it back trying to figure out the the week that we do with this year because we got to go to Orlando for the first game of the season on their you already about the trip. Oh sweet. I'm very I. I really got the Airbnb 'em Kasumi. You know? Yeah. You know, I'll see you out. There is a big one. Yeah. You excited about the new Miami. I hate Florida. Of course, you know, we've been Florida we've been to Gainesville for a game. Yeah. Yeah. Back in the day. That's low actually, yes. Where Mike basically asked Zaza we found out that za`z lowest part Canadian I had known Zaza for. Several years, and I found out he was Canadian on this show. Mike, basically asked him like Canadian questions how much how distraught were you? When Ben Johnson was stripped of his medal. Do you? Listen to Atlantis more set when you're sad. Like, it's actually kind of funny Zaza was not this as loving. He was not loving it. What am I famous to car rides with Jonathan's Oslo the other one he gave me a sandwich well on the way to approach him concert, Tampa, and we all crashed in the same motel room. And we found out that zaslov traveled with the soapdish. Yeah. Yeah. Travels for like a one night trip. He went with his own personal soapdish. You didn't trust the hotel room. So we've never seen that little plastic thing. You can put your soaping you've never seen that. Yeah. That has low traveled with why hotel, soap is like awesome. Like, I take those shampoos and conditioners never use them. But I'm like they're just going to throw them away. These are mind. Now think the weirdest part, and there's plenty weird about traveling with a soap dish is if you're gonna travel just bring the soap gel the body wash. Right. Why why are you so insistent on bringing your own personal bar of soap?.

"So when the media coups about that Koussa's talking about how like once maybe after. The all star break. Hopefully, Lakers hit the stride. Everybody will be healthy. And he was asked. What are you most curious to see that you don't know about this team? And he said are small ball lineup of Rondo Lonzo Ingram himself and LeBron. And he said, maybe we can be like a death lineup at first I thought because he says a fast, maybe me and my old school hip hop. I thought he said deaf like as in know def jam, but then and then I oh he said death lineup. And so I posted the video online, and like just people are killing them killing killing Lakers for, you know, having a death lineup that would have no shooting in it. But you know, listen, the Lakers don't have a lot of shooting anyways. And for their small ball to work. They felt coming into the season. If they can play coups more LeBron at center, they can have matchup problems that team also would potentially run a lot get a lot of deflections create offense. It's not necessarily about shooting for them. Of course, people. Early in the season when they tried kouzmines center. It didn't work very well. He had trouble defending other centers. They still do. But kouzmines saying that he's a much better defender now than he was at the beginning of the season. Oh Myung with suck is here. Ben lines in for George Sodano, ESPN LA tonight, the pistons take on the Lakers, and we'll see if we see that small ball lineup without LeBron because it really is about LeBron at the center position more so than it is for Khouzina. You know, the idea of him getting killed however for death lineup. I think is unfair. I think that is the best Laker lineup. You can see I think the best Laker lineup. We saw was Christmas day Golden State and how that game despite LeBron going down should give them confidence to compete with any team the league on any given night. So while while the LeBron injury is ultimately going to put the evaluation period of the young kids on hold or changed the lens for which we evaluate them. There has to be something said for that lineup having worked at the highest level. Even just for a moment. Now consistency is key to make a team championship team. But just the fact that we've seen it in some small dose, and that it works. I think should have people excited. Yeah. I mean for them. It's trying to get obviously you have Rondo out there because Rondo can set things up and then find better good shots for guys long. Defensively they like his length often..

"Reports have. Surfaced, George Sodano from ESPN is the main source of this. He says that the heat and the timber wolves had a deal done for Jimmy Butler. The two teams were exchanging medicals, which is the universal sports. Signed of a trade is done is. Now, let's make sure that this guy doesn't have a need. That's about to explode. They were exchanging the medicals and Tom tibidow called Pat Riley and asked for an additional piece to throw in at the last minute in the deal, Pat Riley called him in for and hung up. The phone on him. But as you've read reports all week for major awards and asking others. The two teams will certainly the heat hope to reengage with the timber wolves here before too long. My question is. How long till the nuggets get in there. How long till the nuggets decide you know, what let's throw our hat into the ring we have been through this as an organization before at some point this situation becomes untenable with a superstar that wants out the nuggets dealt with that with Carmelo Anthony. So. Could we potentially take advantage because my my guess is? That the nuggets have. You know, thrown at taxed maybe sent a Facebook message to the timber wolves. My guess is they haven't pushed very hard. Nothing more than just overtures and normal GM GM speak. Because one if you believe reports the nuggets label, Gary Harris is untouchable along with Nicole Yokich Jamal Murray, which I think is a nice thought, but. Let's be fair. At what those three guys are one of those guys does not have as high as ceiling as the other two, right? Like, I love Gary Harris. And I love what he's become but to label. Gary Harris untouchable is a little bit. Surprising. So there's that. But then there's also the idea of why in the world would the timber wolves wanted trae Jimmy Butler to the team that they just barely beat out for the postseason last year. And while that's still a valid question. If I were on, Minnesota's sports talk radio. I would be saying do not trade Jimmy Butler two the nuggets if you got to get rid of them get rid to the Eastern Conference. But again, how long? Can put up with questions like that. How long can Scott late in deal with being yelled at at practice by Jimmy Butler? How long can Karl Anthony towns Andrew Wiggins and Jimmy Butler awkwardly tiptoe around each other in the timber wolves locker room? I would say
