"Radio waves at the Sports desk in Culver City, John the L. A Times has decreed that the Democratic process of recalling a governor is undemocratic. How woke of them. Also in the L A Times. I don't know if you saw this, George Skelton said. Here's how this is gonna play out the recalls gonna qualify things. They're gonna be moving swimmingly. By the time we vote in November. Newsome is absolutely going to crush it at the ballot box. And every anyone who runs for governor is going to be a clown. So the L A times seems to have taken their position on the recall. And Lo and behold, the columnists were saying the same exact thing is the editorial board which is saying the same exact thing is the front page. Attention All recall candidates don't spend any of your money on the L A times 802 22 k A. B C is the phone number 1 802 225222 It is a pleasure to welcome our next guest to the program. She is the former Senate majority leader for the state of California. You can follow her on Twitter at Gloria J. Romero, Gloria Romero, Senator Romero welcome. Good to be with you. Well, the L A times seems to be convinced that this recall isn't going anywhere. Jerry Brown seems to be convinced that the recall isn't going anywhere. Gary South seems to be convinced that the recall isn't going anywhere. So why are we wasting our time? I think the only people thinking this is going somewhere is the 1.6 million Californians. Plus, who signed this recall petition, so You know, the elite can argue, Deny. But, uh, you know, history is being made in California. You know, Part of the strategy this time around, is to keep a Democrat from putting their name on the ballot. Last time around Cruz Bustamante, Then the lieutenant governor decided he was going to run because that was his one opportunity at getting the brass ring If it wasn't a recall election, other candidates like Al Chechi or Jane Harman or whoever would be able to come in and outspend them, and he wouldn't be able to compete with them. He ultimately ran and lost and then lost his next race for insurance Commissioner Bud If you talk to people around Gray Davis, they're absolutely convinced that Cruz Bustamante hurt them in the recall election and gave Democrats a green light to vote for it. This time around. The storyline that Newsom in its allies were putting out there is that this is a Republican power grab. And if you're a Democrat don't even think about putting your name on the ballot, and they've singled Antonio Villaraigosa out any number of times because they think that'll blow their story line. Do you think a big name Democrat will ultimately decide to run? And if so, does that screw up? They're framing. Yeah, well, I think I'm will tell. I think it's still too early. There's time to look at it, but I think certainly one thing. Hey, we're heading into the summer months. I would really urge people to think about it. I think this is going to be 2021 2 Sequels Total recall. I mean, think about it. You've got the governor's statewide in the Golden State on the ballot. In Los Angeles. You have the district attorney being recalled in San Francisco. You've got the district attorney here in Venice, where I am massless inventive as we speak. We have a do nothing. A council member who is being re called Judge Carter is on the move, calling out all the Bs from the city and the Oscars were in complete meltdown. So again can spend whatever but I think one really has to look the need that there's something very real going on in voter sentiment going on and any party whether it's the dance independents, Republicans who just tried to push it off by threatening people to not get on the ballot. They're missing. I believe a real strong voter revolt. In the Golden State. Things are not all chummy here, so it's an opportunity. I think we all a lot of thank you's to Cruz Bustamante for having the courage To back then to have defied a very strong Democratic party that seeks to control people. It's in operation today, but let's see. I mean, 2021 total recall on people shouldn't be laughing about it. Take a look at what's happening in your neighborhood and they're is recalls fever everywhere. The conventional wisdom from Sacramento Elite seems to be that the longer this goes on the better the chances for Gavin Newsom that if we pushed the election back to November, December That kids will likely be back at school businesses that haven't shut their doors permanently will likely be open. The anger from the arbitrary shutdowns will have subsided. People will be thinking about Christmas. They'll be thinking about the new year. They won't be thinking about what happened to us this last year, but It's not without liability, because a there's no guarantee that UT L A and other big cities School District's the unions will allow on campus instruction to resume in any normal way by the fall semester. We have a long, hot summer on the way and we have a state that is totally unable to deal with the electricity situation, so we may be having robing brownouts up and down. The state of California, and we have a shortage on water where we may have conservation techniques that are implemented where our ground our grass goes dead and we have to conserve in other ways, as well. In addition to all the lockdowns and everything else that we've seen and pushes for tax increases on the people of California Ah, homeless crisis that's exploding a cost of living that's getting worse. I'm not necessarily sure that things will be better by November. You I I agree with you. Absolutely. And you can add to that as well. I mean, there is a growing whether we like it or not. There are there is a growing crisis that voters are perceiving occurring at the southern border. Hold. It is not under control. Although you know they pronounced suddenly Oh golly gee, it's okay to not wear a mask as if we didn't know that already. So Cove is under the control. You've mentioned the fires Drought. Homelessness is continuing to be an issue and you can take a look at this. I mean, this is just I think l A is ground zero on this. Failure of leadership in Los Angeles. But it is up and down the state and with Judge Carter's injunction, I This isn't over. So I think that the longer it goes The more voters are able to actually look and see what's going wrong with the state of California under the current administration. We have seen new numbers come in from the U. S census that showed the state of California in declining population, while other states like Texas and Florida and Montana are gaining congressional seats. We lost one and we were really at risk of losing two. We lucked out by by not losing to. We only lost one congressional seat. When you look to the redistricting Commission as they prepare to redraw all the congressional lines, all the lines for the state Legislature. What do you think we're going to see here in California? Are we going to see District's that have a lot in common with one another? Are we going to see a Jerry Mander? If we see a Jerry Mander? Are we going to see a partisan Jerry Mander? Are we going to see racial Jerry Mander were districts were drawn to get a certain type of candidate as opposed to someone from a specific party. Well, let me start with what? We're not going to see. We're not going to see all the backroom meetings right now. I guarantee you that are going on as we speak. Remember, there was the discussion about the districting for the state level. But you know, not inclusive, necessarily of the congressional levels. So you're gonna find a lot of that. What I think is going to happen first and foremost is probably there's gonna be pressure on some of the Let me say more senior members of the Legislature to basically Graciously just exit so that their seat can be wrapped up by somebody on not have T O have a fight. That's not just say that there won't be blood Dad because folks they're going to try to fight to keep their home in the current district, Jerry, meandering lot alignment..

"Coming up later on this hour, we talked about this a couple of weeks ago. Wouldn't you know, it all George Skelton with the LA times did a story on why professional athletes, particularly in the very very high income brackets may not want to come and play baseball or football or basketball in the state of California. I wanna know thirteen point three percent. State income tax rate on the wealthy would be a good reason for that. And as he says in the next paragraph by contrast, Philadelphia, I'm sorry, Pennsylvania, regardless of income, the state income taxes three point zero seven. There's a big difference. Could it have played a role in Bryce Harper siding with the Phillies instead of the dodgers are the giants? He talks to some agents. And they definitely agree. It's a definite. It's a big factor. If you get a ten year contract that could add up to a year's worth of salary or more. We're driving away people plus on the other end of it. Thanks to Trump the Republicans and the teams in the tax laws. You don't get to deduct as much as he used to get to deduct on your federal taxes. So you're going to get hit on both ends. We'll talk about all that coming up later on this hour yesterday. We mentioned this became official sort of by the end of the day. The LA city council has decided to settle a lawsuit. A lawsuit concerning the property rights of homeless individuals. If you can believe that that's exactly what the case was about. It's called the Mitchell case. And apparently, this was a lawsuit which a judge slapped an injunction on the city of LA after the lawsuit was filed because what they were trying to do is when things get really disgusting and gross. And there's too many possessions piling up in certain parts of the city for example skid row, they went in there and cleaned it up. So there was a battle over people's vagrants property rights their constitutional property rights the fourth and fourteenth amendments. So apparently the city in response to this lawsuit a number of years ago approved an ordinance which limited the amount of property that someone could have in a public space in L A to what could fit in its sixty gallon bin if you can imagine a sixty gallon been really can't. But it also required advance notice of any neighborhood cleanup and the storage for ninety days of items that were taken during these sweeps. However after the lawsuit was filed. They went to court again and a judge federal judge slapped an injunction preventing that ordinance from going into effect in the skid row area that resulted in people being able to keep more belongings in the community. And we believe that certainly was a factor in typhus at city hall. I would have to say because this happened three years ago. Right. And they had they had the big typhus outbreak last fall. Yes, I'm skid row on a couple of years is all it took for the be enough joke accumulating and enough rodents coming in particularly rats with their fleas for to spawn something like typhus. And so this judge James Otero is insisting on a policy that creates a typhus outbreak. He does. Yes. And the city will not contest this in court. They're giving up they're gonna now why wouldn't you go to the judge and make a health emergency argument? If you declare a health emergency that allows a city to do just about eighty thing to mitigate the emergency. For example, you hear occasionally when? When when when there's a bad smell coming out of a home and health workers or animal workers go in and they find that there's, you know, sixty cats, and there's cat poo and dog poo and pee and maybe a couple of rotting corpses. What do they do? They clear all the animals out. They did declared a health emergency base barge into people's house. And they take stuff out. Now, why can't you do that on an open sidewalk, which is blocking the sidewalk access for normal people access for everybody, including the disabled, and you're creating a health hazard. Well, I don't understand why you couldn't go to court and win this the judge's injunction. Did carve out an exception for items that pose a danger to public safety? Well, we just made the case for typhus crisis. Did we not, but you know, the wimps at the city of LA the politically, correct? Administrators from the mayor on down to the city attorney just decided that they didn't want this fight. So the city council voted ten to two after more than three hours of debate. I love that sounded like to basically give up and not try to enforce any rules on homeless people's possessions. So what they're doing is. They're opening up the door to more encampments more piles of junk on sidewalks and on other properties around the homeless, and they're inviting more disease typhus to come. I don't I didn't understand why the city council is trying to fight to keep Los Angeles free of these of these plague-like diseases. Does the public understand what's going on here and all the encampments near your house can end up with these plague-like diseases too. I just did a quick new search and this was as of October thirtieth NBC news. Said the number of patients in Los Angeles has typhus outbreak has now surpassed one hundred. LA county department of public health said seventy two cases in LA county, not counting Long Beach and Pasadena at least one hundred seven if you include those two cities. And they said there's they were investigating four hundred sixty nine thousand people to see if they had typhus as well. Four hundred sixty nine thousand because they were worried that this typhus could could become a massive epidemic. We're this close to I've heard doctors quoted repeatedly different doctors saying it can happen any day. That we have this big disease outbreak. How can you have a judge not say this is a disgusting. Impermissible way to live. It's public area. Here. It's not your private home. This is a public area. And how the city not fight it. And why won't they fight it? And the feeling is if this is the policy now for the skid row area, this'll probably spread to other neighborhoods. It'll be more tense more junk, they'll be lawyers. They'll be ACLU people file and more claims on behalf of the homeless look with the judge decided within downtown LA that should apply here on the west side or wherever else I have having said all that all it says is that you have to give advance notice of a neighborhood cleanup and you have to provide storage for ninety days of all the item seized. So it doesn't stop the city from seizing the items and storing them and clearing the vagrants off the sidewalks. They can still do that. They have to follow the rules. The way Orange County supervisors followed the rules that the judge lay down because ultimately there is no constitutional right to live in public. They don't have it. These fights are over their possessions. So the judge lays down the rules. Follow the rules. Secure the storage area for this stuff, and then clean it up. And then in my neighborhood, they did it a couple of weeks ago, but they didn't enforce the ban on sleeping on the sidewalk that night. Everybody came back with their stuff. So they they cleared everyone out they power wash the sidewalk and then everybody came back. I've never seen a modern society not care about ancient diseases breaking out. I every time. I look at these stores is like it's just a suicide pact. They let these activist groups does run right over them. It's reckless and it's going to lead to bigger and bigger problems and more disease. These are the people who are worried that we're drinking too much soda. Try mother let us run rampant. But typhus hepatitis. That's all that's all. Okay. Which which goes back to what I always say. It's not a, but they don't care about your elf. They care about controlling you. You'd be out of your mind to go anywhere near downtown LA skid row city hall because you have a fleet jump on you. That's right. And then you got typhus, and then you could be dead, right? When we come back fascinating story from San Jose and the downtown Fairmont hotel a decision that they made years ago has really come back to haunt them. And yes, it involves ignorance John and Ken show KFI. Debra Mark has news. Cindy Crawford.

It was a robot thought looked like a robot arm, then he thought it was some sort of mutant of some sort. I was my I guess too. Aliens. And then he finally went with. It's just a cloud dad with the lights in the sky last night. I don't know if you saw it. But we're still trying to figure out what it is latest thing marshalls hurt is they're claiming ends of media. Of course, I could be alive. I mean, honest to God. This isn't crazy person talk is it that the military has got to do various things that they don't tell us about they test missiles and defense programs and stuff without announcing it to the world. Of course, they do. They should. Is that crazy person talk? Well, if you were to talk to the late Charles Manson, he were to say, I believe when the supply increases that depresses prices now is that crazy person. I hear what you're saying. Okay. So on dinner with Charles Manson, he says am I crazy or is it hot in here? So Jerry Brown who is the four term governor of California. He was youngest governor of California and the oldest governor, California, good move, California. And according to some reports he is in the late stages of syphilis, which is affected his mental health. I've never heard anybody report that other than you broadcast reports have played. But at any rate, he gave a big. Kind of farewell address. It was an hour long speech at a Sacramento ballroom was the LA times George Skelton was moderating. It had various scribes. And thinkers about gave essentially farewell address. He was is Jerry Brown can be at times remarkably unguarded now keep in mind. This guy still has twelve billion dollars. I think it is in campaign bribes I mean contributions that he's going to spread around to make sure his legacy continues. So she's this. But he made a number of really interesting disclosures slash pieces of advice in the speech that nobody's paying attention to. I was hit by a friend of mine is super active in this stuff. But tip number one avoid overexposure. He was asked if you learned anything from his dad was the state's governor in the fifties. And sixties said the one thing I learned was not to have an open ended press conference every week why because reporters have the nasty habit of calling you out when you contradict yourself. It's hard to be consistent in the face of an ever comp. Flex ever unfolding story. So just don't be accountable to the press. He got a little bit. When politicians are honest, and we all know, this is true. And by the way, how can you be proud of democracy where guys dad is governor? And then the sun is governor twice come on. Yeah. All the people in a giant state tip. Number two. Don't try to make everyone happy which you know, sounds self evidently a fruit, and I get that. But wait there's more ever since running in one thousand nine hundred seventy four on the promised introduced an era of limits. He's cultivated his reputation is willing to block his party's big-spending tendencies. Which is fine. Actually, this part. I like the idea you're going to make people happy and build a lot of support by doing a lot of stuff. Frankly, it turns out there's a downside. You have to be careful, but the flip side of that is to try to make some people happy he paid off your in politics. Do try to make some people happy. Well, it's what he needs specifically Brown paid tribute to the wisdom of quid pro quo in politics, you should take care of your friends. He noted that both the president of the California Public utilities commission. Those are the guys who held up a useful fire danger map for nine years in roseburg. Former chief Justice California's court system started out working for various campaigns. Loyalty is important keep the meritocracy within limits. In other words, don't go for the best and brightest reward people who are most loyalty you. Politics is a difficult business. He said you need to raise massive sums of money from people all want something. And if you give it to them directly you'll go to jail, but if you don't give them to it. And if you don't give it to them in some form, you won't be elected to the next office so square that circle. Wow. Well, it's true. How we know that? But a sixteen year governor saying out loud, look, you can't give it to them directly or to bribes. You have to find a way around that the give them what they want for the money that they donated right? Somebody's saying it out loud is unbelievable. It's okay to be bride just preserve enough. Plausible deniability? You don't go to jail for it. That's good advice. Mr. Mr Mayor, certain Mr. governor, sir. Oh, there's one area where I'm definitely not naive in in that. I don't believe they're all these companies people organizations give money to politicians because they don't think they're going to get something in return. Yeah. Yeah. Well, yeah. Of course, I I'm not trying to reorder the universe is move the stars up about in the sky until I'm happy. My point is just understand what's going on here. It's not you the people there. Utopian sounding schemes. That's not what they're actually after what these people are really really good at and it would be fun to sit in the meetings because I'm like a guy. I am a guy who likes crafting an argument, I enjoy turning a phrase, and so I would like to be in the meeting where the lobbyists the bribers are saying to the dogs that they have on their chain. The politicians saying, listen, we need you to give us this much. So we can distribute it to our members. Let's cook up something that sounds high minded an honorable, and and then we'll sell it to the voters as high minded an honorable and. But the only reason it actually exists is to route money taxpayer money into our pockets. So let's get started anybody have any ideas. How about a bullet train a bullet trade would be great. You know, people like Ford -able housing affordable housing now, we're onto something then they pass some giants scheme with vague laws, and they all spend the money. I just want the voters to be aware that that's what's going on. But thanks to my buddy, Dave for helping me to that speech. You're you're gonna take a ton of money for people want something you can't give it to them directly. So you gotta find a way to give it to him without you gotta square that circle. Okay. Good. Here allowed Sean how long that Bob corker clip that we can you imagine. I'm sorry. Can you imagine? If Donald Trump said, listen, people gave me an extraordinary amount of money. I got to find a way to give them what they want would that not on the front page of every single paper in America right now. Well, I was more struck by the whole loyal thing. You appoint people that are with you at the beginning. So they'll be loyal to you. I mean Trump's been accused of that over and over again is that just being horrified. Loyalty oaths, and that sort of stuff sort of king does Jerry Brown just explained. That's the way you do it. Right. Exactly. And of course, in the cow telling California press, which is you know, it's his liberal as the American press except two times, California. He's just been hailed as sage and praise for speech and the rest of it. So here's Bob corker. Senator Tennessee got you. Gotta know. He's a Trump hater for from way back, but he didn't like Trump Syria announcement yesterday. And this is what he had to say. I've never seen a decision like this since I've been here in twelve years where nothing is communicated in advance. And all of a sudden, this type of massive decision takes place. So that is a comment more on the process. He's also just gets the policy in general. He doesn't like the idea of pulling out of Syria. And so Mike lines are military strategists was on earlier and talking about the foreign policy class of Washington DC, and how they are just so in the idea of the status quo, and that sort of stuff there's a book out right now called the hell of good intentions by Stephen Walt of Kato, America's foreign policy elite and the decline of the US primacy, but I saw him on TV the other day, and he was talking about. There are some things you just cannot believe in Washington DC, you have to believe these things if you want to be part of the foreign policy class if you want to keep your job things like fighting terrorism always good anywhere in the world. All Israel's always, right? He went through a long laundry list of things he said, if you believe all these things you can have a job make a living stay around here forever. If you go against any of these things ever, you'll be out of work. So people go along with them because you'll be out of work. If you're not, and that's sort of what Mike winds was talking about is you have to be on. On board with this military, interventions in all these different places because that's just the prevailing wisdom. And actually, I think I can address the weird process of.

You know, people like Ford -able housing affordable housing now, we're onto something then they pass some giant scheme with vague laws, and they all spend the money. Well, I just want the voters to be aware that that's what's going on. But thanks to my buddy, Dave for helping me to that speech. You're gonna take a ton of money from people want something you can't give it to them directly. So you got to find a way to give it to him. Without you got square that circle. Okay. It's good to hear out loud. Sean how long that Bob corker clip that way you imagine. I'm sorry. Can you imagine? If Donald Trump said, listen, people gave me an extraordinary amount of money. I got to find a way to give them what they want would that not be on the front page of every single paper in America right now while I was more struck by the whole loyal thing. You your point people that are with you at the beginning. So they'll be loyal to you. I mean Trump's been accused of that over and over again is that just being horrified. Loyalty oaths, and that sort of stuff sort of thinking does Jerry Brown just explained, that's the way you do it. Right. Exactly. And of course, in the kowtowing, California press, which is you know, it's as liberal as the American press except times, California. He's just been hailed as a sage and praise for his speech and the rest of it. So here's Bob corker, Senator Tennessee, gotta you gotta know. He's a Trump heater for from way back, but he didn't like Trump Syria announcement yesterday. And this is what he had to say. I've never seen a decision like this since I've been here in twelve years where nothing is communicated and a fancy and all of a sudden this type of massive decision takes place. So that is a comment more on the process. He's also just gets the policy in general. He doesn't like the idea of pulling out of Syria. And so Mike lines are military strategists was on earlier and talking about the foreign policy class of Washington DC, and how they are, you know, they're just so in the idea of the status quo, and that sort of stuff there's a book out right now called the hell of good intentions by Stephen Walt of Kato, America's foreign policy elite and the decline of the US primacy, but I saw him on TV the other day, and he was talking about. So people go along with it because you'll be out of work. If you're not. And that's sort of what Mike lines was talking about. Is you have to be on board with this military, interventions and all these different places because that's just the prevailing wisdom. And actually, I think I can address the weird process of.

It's just a cloud dad with the lights in the sky last night. I don't know if you saw it. But we're still trying to figure out what it is latest thing marshalls hurt is they're claiming ends of meteoroid, of course, could be alive. I mean, honest to God. This isn't crazy person talk is it that the military has got to do various things that they don't tell us about they test missiles and defense programs and stuff without announcing it to the world. Of course, they do. They should. Is that crazy person talk? Well, if you were to talk to the late cherubs Manson, he were to say, I believe when the supply increases that depresses prices now is that crazy person. I hear what you're saying. Okay. So dinner with Charles Manson, he says am I crazy or is it hot in here? Yeah. Exactly that'll joke. So Jerry Brown who is the four term governor of California youngest, governor of California and the oldest governor of California, good move, California. And according to some reports he is in the late stages of syphilis, which is affected his mental health. I've never heard anybody report that other than you broadcast reports have claimed. But at any rate, he gave a big. Kind of farewell address. It was an hour long speech at a Sacramento ballroom. He was. The LA times George Skelton was moderating. It you had various scribes thinkers about he gave essentially farewell address. He was is Jerry Brown can be at times remarkably unguarded now keep in mind this guy. He's still has twelve billion dollars. I think it is in campaign bribes, I mean contributions that he's going to spread around to make sure his legacy continues such as this. But he made a number of really interesting disclosures slash pieces of advice in the speech that nobody is paying attention to. I was hit by a friend of mine is super active in this stuff. But tip number one. Void overexposure. He was asked. If you learn anything from his dad who was the state's governor in the fifties. And sixties said the one thing I learned was not to have an open ended press conference every week why? Because reports have the nasty habit of calling you out when you contradict yourself. It's hard to be consistent in the face of an ever complex ever unfolding story. So just don't be accountable to the press. You gotta love it. When politicians are honest, and we all know, this is true. And by the way, how can you be proud of a democracy where a guy's dad is governor. And then the sun is governor twice come off of all the people in a giant state tip. Number two. Don't try to make everyone happy which, you know, sound self evidently, a fruit, and I get that. But wait there's more ever since running in one thousand nine hundred seventy four on the promised introduced an era of limits. He's cultivated his reputation is willing to block his party's big-spending tendencies. Which is fine. Actually, this part. I like the idea that you're going to make people happy and build a lot of support by doing a lot of stuff. Frankly, it turns out there's a downside. You have to be careful, but the flip side of that is to try to make some people happy he paid. You're in politics. Do try to make some people happy. And if you don't give it to them in some form, you won't be elected to the next office. So swear that circle. Wow. Well, it's true. How we know that? But a sixteen year governor saying out loud, look, you can't give it to them directly or to bribes. You have to find a way around that. But give them what they want for their money that they donate, right? Somebody saying it out loud is unbelievable. It's okay to be bribed just preserve enough. Plausible deniability? You don't go to jail for it. That's good advice. Mr. Mr Mayor, sir, or Mr. governor, sir. Well, there's one area where I'm definitely not naive in in that. I don't believe that all these companies people organizations give money to politicians because they don't think they're going to get something in return. Yeah. Yeah. Well, yeah. Of course. Because she she doesn't like being around do. I love being with you guys. Yeah. It's absolutely okay. Sure. And we're going to count on you to host and talk to the mall, and I will I'll take cell fees and all that kind of stuff and we'll post. Carrie exciting. The fun is threaded treasury. And John might even. Hey, maybe. Ooh, I have some ideas, we could take selfish together, the three of us, and maybe other people involved with all, you know. I don't have a daughter, but this must be. Yes is pretty close. This is pretty close to having a daughter, except there's sometimes as the other side of this the whiny. Thank you name. Angry. Take me shows the dot. Oh boy. Do we still have the audio of new governor Gavin Newsom in his list of things that he wants to spend all your tax dollars on because the news out of Sacramento is even worse than we thought. It's not a super majority. It's what's known as mega majority negative majority. That means they have a three quarters majority. Not two-thirds even better three quarters. The way it's tabulated right now. According to George Skelton of the El Segundo times in the assembly, sixty Democrats, maybe even sixty one Republicans twenty there were eighty members of the assembly and there were forty members of the Senate. It's three two one now is three to one and in the Senate Democrats twenty nine Republicans eleven that's almost three to one. So that means an all of the legislature one hundred and twenty seats, right? Thirty one Republicans. Why not? It's been fans of Republicans would show some of them Melissa Melendez. You can name them off the top of your head a fight the good fight. They do. But they're they're it's a it's a dead party. I heard somebody talking the other day that what you need is a few high profile people who were formerly Republican to run his independence, and maybe some people running as independents might be able to win a race here and there, but people unless you're in an absolutely solid district. And there's obviously few of those left that it's impossible right now. People are so. So spun into this Trump hatred. It's what they're saying. Some of it it just slightly bigger turn out. Because a lot of the we've talked about this last week. And a lot of the seats in Orange County. It's over hyped. They had they had very very narrow wins. And it took an extra week of counting to give the Democrats all these win. So all these seats could easily be taken back. In two years, depending on the circumstances here so much of this in California is this anti Trump vote. It's like a cult, and if you're voting on that, and you're not voting on all their crazy spending ideas, then you're an idiot. His Trump has very limited effect on your life and California, and he's he's not really a Republican. Anyway, this is what they just shows you how stupid people are. They don't analyze things properly. He's he acts as an independent president. He fights with his with the Republicans as much as the Democrats. It doesn't really belong to either party so voting against the Republicans. At local races to show. The trump. Trump doesn't care about the assembly in the state Senate doesn't mean anything to 'em. Now, what it means is the taxes are going to continue to go up spending is going to go out of control, which it already is. And that that that's why you have that ridiculous. Gas tax double gas tax in the last year between the global warming tax and the pump tax. I I don't know why people would do that just as stupid to Trump. But you know, we're a dump species. We don't think very much we're not really knowledgeable. We're not capable of critical thinking. It's it's that. Because once they start taxing they tax everybody. Now, we're going to talk about the plans they have already we've got a member of the assembly who's going to immediately introduce expanded health care coverage for undocumenteds. Will you the numbers on this one billion is one of the numbers are thrown around free healthcare for illegal aliens? Yup. They're also talking about more early preschool programs for children one thing you mentioned running as independent I just forgotten St. poisoner tried that he did lose the insurance Commissioner race not that people care that much, but he was a Republican. He was insurance Commissioner before, but he went with no party preference. And he probably got a much better percentage out of it got forty eight. Yes, that's pretty close. Fifty that idiot. Cal fart lowers the insurance Commissioner dumbest man on the planet. Oh my God. Is that guy in dope? And he comes up in the story that we'll talk about when we come back. We'll tell you just how much damage they could do to your wallet your pocketbook. Your Bank account. Now that they have a three quarters. What is called a mega majority in Sacramento. The Democrats and Gavin Newsom, John and Ken show KFI. Debra Mark has more. Former president George H W Bush will lie in state at the US capitol today through Wednesday Bush died Friday in Houston. He was ninety four President Trump and many dignitaries are scheduled to attend a funeral Wednesday at the Washington National cathedral, Alex Vienna. Wave has been sworn in as LA county sheriff he is.

Problem they're dead alad is another one another idiot okay it's not taking away. Any precious resources the audit team is its own. Agency and they go in there and the DMV. Can spare. A few employees to turn over the records it should, be easy to find the records. You not only need an. Audit because these huge amounts of money obviously wasted you also. Need to completely, revamp what they're doing they have to put in a modern computer system they must you can't run on a nineteen Seventy-eight computer system you you have. To. Hire more people you have to extend hours you have to have hours open. All day Saturday, and? Sunday Nobody has seven out nobody. Normal person has seven hours to give away, on a Tuesday To get a license slip skeleton writes the. DMV computer system is a fragile. Antique at sometimes. Collapses and badly needs to be replaced we talked about that last week I forgot this so the DMV has. Been tasked by the legislature with automatically registering voters will they shouldn't have shouldn't have been they should not have been stopped trying to. Register, people who shouldn't be allowed to vote because they think they'll vote for the democrat yeah, I know it's terrible and it stopped with the with the the non binary sex option which apparently. Is consumed a lot of time at the DMV? Why it's a box on, a, card, what is, this an excuse that Shimon gain nonsense she gave. An excuse saying well we you know, we have. This new non binary sex gender thing get outta here just hand out licenses stop it so they're claiming that the legislature has appropriated. Nearly sixty four, million to hire seven. Hundred eighty new DMV staffers. And some other way DMV one point two billion dollar budget Eighty? Three hundred workers holy mackerel, a, monster, yes we, do have cars and a billion dollars a year. And they never spent any money on, a new. Computer system for forty years didn't Jerry Brown and the democratic legislature mandate money for a two thousand eighteen or twenty seventeen computer system. This is this. Is all Bs excuses They're incompetent and scouted did write something accurate in. There you go into a DMV office It's the land of the dead There is no energy at all there's no. Sense of urgency sense of purpose there's no. Not a soul that cares about they see, the people lined up seven. Hours seven hours out the. Door they know. It's seven hours none of them they all move. At the rate of a glacier I never seen more people who care. Less about what they do he writes you. Walk into a DMV office it seems like, everything's happening in slow motion. It's not the fault of. Snail moving computers. Junk them significantly upgrade or go back to paper And he claims that Jerry Brown it's good it's going to have to fix this is. One of, his last things he does. Because it's really sunk to a new low and here's what what. Are the, odds he does he doesn't carry. It or he doesn't want anyone driving cars. Now and he's turned out in a couple, of months but again you vote for these people Than the theme of the show all right more coming up John and Ken KFI Debra Mark. "Show John. Kobylt and Ken chiampou. KFI AM six forty If there's any new, information on the big fire, in Orange County at the Cleveland national forest we'll tell you about it Bourbon Carson is there and anything new on the suspected arsonist to, set the fire forest Clark Who's Doing a sit down protest of sorts in his jail. Cell he refused to get up and get out to faces arraignment. Today so they let him. Go now they didn't let him go They. Let the Raymond slide for today he's still in his jail cell on a on a million dollars bail but they didn't force them. To come I don't know the status of his attorney I'm sure. Other people refused to come. Out and the attorney ends up Putting in some kind of preliminary plea, but he's a mental patient he's a. Crazy person and he made it clear and. Nobody did anything about it which is the way these things go now You, know you look for free information in perspective sometimes at least you used, to from local media outlets. And certainly get that here but you don't get it from the El Segundo times, because they're they're washed up columnist George. Skeleton Had a column headlined California's, new normal for wildfires is unacceptable And he writes Well he said he's sick of. The normal phrase and if new normal means week after week, of smoky skies watching our, once beautiful state I don't wanna hear about it seeing and smelling is depressing enough if it means thousands of homes constantly being incinerated at people dying inflames California's, headed into ruins never mind, are high, taxes unaffordable housing. And regulatory morass if the new normal, is year round firestorms sensible. People will flee the state tourists will vacation where they don't. Eat the cart fire extinguishers, wear face masks and he's upset because his bay -cation was ruined. At Lake Tahoe he said he. Spent gloomy weeks there used. To be gorgeous this time you couldn't see the Sierra mountains, across the lake and the water looked gray because the skies. We're all city And then he goes through Arrestation. Of of all the fires And then he says well the new normal is indeed climate change hotter weather that combined, with the recent four year drought parched vegetation and stoked it for runaway wildfires I'm so fed up with this this Cleveland national fire was started by an arsonist the Idyllwild fire was started. By an arsonist the huge fire up near reading which. Took out a thousand, homes, was started by a guy who blew his tires and kept riding on the rims and the, rims threw off sparks at ignited the brush So it's. Human beings that are starting the fires with. Stupid actions We were told that the earth is. Gonna warm by a degree and a half in one hundred years I don't, think that causes these sudden fires if it takes a year and a half to go up a degree I mean. This is such ridiculous shameless Jerry Brown boosting nonsense because Santa skeletons always had his hand up Jerry Brown's rear end And we talked about. This the other day There was a four hundred eighty year period of drought. Between the eight hundred and. The thirteen hundred's I'll even be more precise, I don't want to bury you with numbers but. There was a five hundred twenty year period In four hundred, eighty this five hundred twenty years there was drought There was one forty year. Stretch of rain Was like a sandwich was, a draft, sandwich, hundreds of years of drought forty. Years rain couple hundred more years of drought Five hundred and twenty years you lived here between eight eight hundred thirteen hundreds of. Course maybe, nobody was here at all. Or. Maybe a few scattered tribes who. The hell does how many fires there were of course you didn't have mental patients setting, fire, is back in the eight hundreds And you. Didn't have, some some dope driving his. Car and his rims after blowing his tires Shooting sparks off In fact a give. George Skelton credit, he does quote Ken Ken pimlot He's the director of the California Department of forestry and. Fire protection Cal fire Ninety five percent of these. Fires are started. By people it's people because this species. Is not too bright it's very impulsive there's many of us have mental issues so we have. Arsonists amongst us guys who get off on setting fires and. Watching things burn and then we have dopes. Who don't ride on their tires. They ride on the rims of their tires ninety five percent started. By people Many times he says it's an accident a broken down car. On the side of the road someone welding or hitting.

"If he does show up we'll be able to chat with. You again to let you know how it went and how he appeared in court But maybe that's a, bit optimistic right now given what happened today but Jeff whatever reason just wanted. To stay in the cell and. They pushed it back how much, bail is he being held on a million a million dollars so he's gotta sit there but they're feeding them right Well I don't know if he's eating but yeah he's getting getting food will be a fun, standoff all right Andrew a talk with you later let us know. It sounds, good right Andrew mollenbeck KFI news and Orange County in Santa Ana where forest, Clark who started this massive fire in the Cleveland national forest is sitting. In his cell refusing to, come out for his indictment Yeah this is great Here's a question and I know I've brought this up frequently, the last few. Weeks but. It's, real it's true Can this guy since obviously he's mentally ill once he gets an attorney, will the attorney then asked for the diversion. Program where he, gets treated, for his mental, illness for two years and then he's never charged with any crimes, there's no trial. There's no There's no jail term and his record is expunged cleaned, zip it never happened because he went to. The mental diversion. Program and Again before you scoff and say well that can't be Well a judge how does? The judge, argue that he doesn't need mental health help I mean we went through all the nuttiness that he posted on social media in a. Restraining order against him pro put in by, his, mother his mother He was in a mental health hospital back? As far, back as nineteen Ninety-six he had threatened in writing to the volunteer fire chief in the area Mike Milligan that the area was going, to burn In fact Milligan said he sent that message to the. US forest service isn't that a crime this guy is living in a cabin. In a forest sends it to a volunteer fire chief who far it, to the US forest service should the forest service Some law enforcement over? There because this is when you threaten to kill somebody, that that's a crime in itself you threatened to burn down a forest that should be a crime right What what did they just delete. The Email too much trouble somebody at the forest service needed a nap I'm, I'm just I shouldn't be, I shouldn't be surprised by this but it's fascinating how with all these stories there's. Just so much apathy enac and inaction on the part of the people who can do something to help I, got you, get an Email. At the forest service and you, know who the guy is specifically you know, where he lives he lives, in the forest he's got a long record of being a crazy person wouldn't you Come up with. An arrest I think threatening to threatening to set a forest on fire when there's, people living in the forest Is the same as a murder threat Should be at least They still not saying exactly how it was knighted, they may not know but they know it was an intentional act and they found physical, evidence at Clark's cabin which mysteriously did not burn Everybody else's cabin burned, around him but not his But he had the goods inside all right we'll continue the ridiculous George Skelton and the El Segundo times wrote a ridiculous column on the fires around the. State happy to share with you John in Kansas that's really the only media coverage, seems we get got Debra.
