"To do a comic book with them, they've licensed the Bruce Lee name out some other comics that have not exactly been amazing. So I'm sure that's part of their hesitancy. But oh my God, like somebody, I'm shocked that I haven't seen that documentary because as a kid, you want to talk about somebody that I wanted to be. Oh my God, that guy, there's just something about, so I don't know that you and I have ever really talked about, I was really hardcore into taoism. So I, for a long time, I identified the way most kids would say, I'm Christian. I was like, I'm a Dallas. And I read the shit out of the Dow to Jing. I was obsessed with that. Yeah, that was my whole thing. So what ends up happening is for people that follow my story in terms of what we're trying to build, they'll begin to understand why. So I watched Star Wars and this character Yoda, like just fucks with me. Like there's something about what he talks about that hits me in a way, part of it is that he's a fucking puppet. And so that's cool already for a kid. But just the wisdom. I never would have used that word as a kid, but it really landed in me for some reason. And do or do not, there is no try. You want to talk about something that from the moment I heard it, right? To the power of your ability to speak and sound bites. It's like Yoda was the ultimate fucking sound bite machine. And that one just really stuck with me. So he plants because basically Yoda is, God, I'm going to mispronounce his name terribly loud zo, the guy that wrote the Dow to Jing. So basically talks like him. If you've read it, the first time I read the dowd is, I was like, ha ha. George, I see you. I see what this is all coming from. So reading that, I was like, yo, this reminds me of Yoda, which then immediately made me like internalize everything I get way hardcore into the teachings, the philosophies. Because it was sort of mindset before mindset had a name. You know, talking about how to think and how to be in moments of stress and pressure and be like water, right? And literally Bruce Lee quoting the Dow regime. And so then you mix in Bruce Lee and just like that whole era of my life is about that sort of martial philosophy and the irony of irony. So I actually studied martial arts really briefly in college, but I was so emotionally weak, dude. The first time I got hurt, I just quit. I was like, wow, like this is real. You could really fucking get injured. And I'm so, so, so sad. That I didn't stick with it because it was a period in my life where it would have just been perfect because I'm there on campus. It's college, you walk ten feet and you're in the place where you're studying. And I was just too weak, man. It's a sadness. I've thought about doing it. Do you know who I'm for us as a hobby is? All right, so do you know George Saint Pierre I don't know if you follow MMA at all. So George Saint Pierre, one of the greatest fighters ever to live. So his trainer is a guy named for us a hobby. And I went and trained for exactly one session with feroz for us is one of the most extraordinary humans I've ever met. He is a modern day Bruce Lee. This guy is a fucking philosopher extreme. Yeah. Fucking incredible this guy. Anyway, I trained with him one time. It was amazing. And of course I got injured again. And I was like, fuck, just so I asked myself, this was incredible. But am I really willing to put the time and energy into figuring out what's wrong with my physiology, muscle weaknesses, whatever. It's all my fault, right? So I know that there's no one to blame but myself. So I haven't done the things that I needed to do to get my body ready that I could go and train and take it seriously, and then looking at the amount of time that it would take. And it's weird. It's one of the few things in my life where I'm just conflicted because part of me really wants to do it and then part of me is like, fuck, does it really line up with the bigger goals that I have in my life? I'm actually not sure what the answer is. It might be better. It might be a better life for me if I did go and study and train. But there's that there's something there, man. And I still find myself drawn to the way that Bruce Lee talked and the fact that he was such a fucking badass. There's something there, man. There's something to what do you think about fighting? I think about fighting a lot as a guy that can't fight. I think about it a lot. It's interesting. Where do you come down on that? Yeah. I'm mixed. Like literally split because the truth is that I watch the UFC and I watch occasionally boxing and I watch all the I grew up watching Sunday Kung fu theater. So I have this affinity for that and then I also know the damage that it could cause because I'm a brain health advocate at the same time but I love people competing and I think the physicality of learning something, the discipline, the honor, the flexibility, I feel like getting it into your body, you learn things at a totally different level. It's not a logical thing. I think what made Bruce was fully integrated. And this amazing specimen of a fighter and a philosopher, I feel like the physical mechanics of him doing things drove in like a lot of the philosophy of water and everything else that he talked about when he talked about limits and not to put limits on any area of your life because if you put a limit on one area of your life, it's going to pervade all the other areas of your life. I feel like martial arts was a training ground for a lot of that and the physicality I think is important. But I also agree that if you're going to do something you want to do it world class and having somebody coming over to the house a few times a week might not get you there. And then is

"The last one of the Robbie Lawler fight as great as the fight that was. That was rough to watch. But the same with same with Robbie Lawler and that instance though, it's like he's been sticking with the game as it's evolved. And I won't talk bad about Robert either. But Robbie, though, let's get closer to the end of his career that he is the beginning, but for him to have stuck around and compete as well as he has in the last his last several fights is pretty remarkable. Yeah, no, I was picking Nick the S to win. I'm not going to go in. And I mean, that was a great fight, but it was like two guys that are not enough. Right. Like a legacy kind of deal. A 100%, a 100%. Now, other fights that are this week, by the way, do we have Charles Oliveira or do we just see? I don't know. That's such a tough one 'cause. Shit. That's so tough. Because like Oliveira is like been on a fucking tear and he looks so good and I really feel like he's completed he's ever been, but I don't know. I really don't know. That's a so tough. Well, I mean, I just feel like no one at some point he's getting your back and it's done. Like how can you for an entire fight prevent him from getting your back at this point? He's gotten so good at that. Throws all of Michael Chandler got out. But gee, I don't understand he was the two time all American wrestler. He has not taken one takedown. Attempt in any of his fights. You would never know. Yeah, I think that's such a misnomer though, that people keep bringing that up, but it's like, bro, I never like, he hasn't made that a factor of his fights ever. So I don't understand why people keep bringing it up and it's like almost irrelevant at this point. George Saint Pierre was a karate background guy, but like every fucking fight he had in somebody who was on their back and their face master their own torn off or whatever..

"When he Khabib was either advancing forward menacingly, but when he had to fight the moving backwards, there was a definite asymmetry between his ability to fight going forwards, which is very good and his ability to fight going backwards, which was noticeably weaker. George would often fight both forwards and backwards. The Thiago Elvis fight, most of the standing time was going backwards. Probably the single biggest difference between you two athletes and skill level would be in the standing position. On the ground, Khabib, slightly agent, takedowns on the fence, George slight edge and take downs in the center. Ability to inflict damage on the floor, roughly equal, ability to fight off the back, roughly equal ability to stand up from bottom, roughly equal to very, very hard match. In terms of the biggest difference in skill level is going to be in a standing position. And so it would come down to that doesn't necessarily mean that it could be would lose in the staining position. He might just push it to the fence and just use match tactics where he kept a fight on the fins for significant periods of time. And you can win rounds in that fashion. So it's a match that could go either way, both of them are absolutely the best that you'll ever see. I've always believed the three greatest mixed martial artists I've ever seen in my life where George Saint Pierre Khabib Nurmagomedov and John Jones..

"Can't that, our legal teams are flipping out. And I'm like, holy shit, I gotta change the acronym after falling in love with it. And I sat there as frustrated. It was the beginning of the cancel culture. It was 1993, I guess. And I upgraded it to spontaneous protection, enabling accelerator response, which is actually more accurate because it's the study of the neuroscience related to the neurobiology of fear and how do we turn our startle flinch into a protective or tactical movement? So it's actually a better acronym as a result. Right. Well, cool. Let's actually shift gears here a little bit and go into the no fear. Any way you create what you've created there. So I think we talked about the origin story a bit in the last episode, but how about the, when did the idea for the actual program? No fear arise. When did that start? So that also started in the 80s. It wasn't called no fear, but you know, it was our cerebral self defense mental edge program. We actually came out with an audio in 1993 called cerebral self defense, the mental edge. So I just say that because I want anyone who's got historic inclinations or to understand that this was always part of my DNA. Deescalation, fear management, mental toughness, resiliency, mindset. A lot of people think that people in the fight community are just knuckle draggers and looking for violence and fight. You know, if you listen to George Saint Pierre, you know, he'll tell you, you know, he was terrified before each fight. And at the worst day of his life was the day of his fight, that he hated it. And that. Tyson used to throw up and cry before fights and stuff like that. So, you know, I'm not, I was never the knuckle dragger guy. Let's fight, you know, I have horror violence, which is why I've created such a holistic system. And so the no fear, it just matured over the years. I didn't, if you had said to me, I didn't realize how important it was in the 80s I knew it was significant, but I was in my 20s in the 80s. And I didn't want to lecture on mindset. I wanted to put on gear and freaking have people head bought me and be returned the favor. I mean, we were just, it was hardcore. And but if you said to me now, I'm 61, and you said to me, Tony, you can only pick one. Do your most all out scenario training multiple sale and stuff or, you know, stand up and talk about the virtues of the no fear program..

"Decided to put all their astronomical knowledge and really their knowledge of the universe everything they need onto bills and one was built of brick which and the other was built of stone on the wall was built of stone in case a flood destroyed the brick and on the pillow was risen all his knowledge. Now this story doesn't appear in the by over josephus expected to be understood and he's really saying to the romans providence. The protect the has provided a conduit a passage of knowledge from the earliest times to those who survived the flood. Anybody then says the end of this account. Everybody knows what happened. Of course there was the flood he says this one of the pillars remains to this day in the land of syria and that's an anglicized version of the word. He uses which is in greek which is mean. Well get this the second now. They english translation of this passage. That has become probably. The most influential in scholarship was translated by isaac nuisance colleague william christian and he took away a silly ad some Say the ad as it's written in greek. He thought it meant syria and he presumed that the pillow being fed to was actually long directed by theros as australia's and so he cast a historic downtown. Whether the pillar referred to by josephus contract the wisdom was wrong. Also because he followed herodotus. The fifth century is greek historian. And he'd go wrong as well because the ellas he refers to that he thinks ceska is as equals. They were in fact from minor kings who robot the and so in. It doesn't really know but the point is they mortgages tradition weather suviving. Bill was in syria. Now if you get this the reason this era has come about. Because wister was using the latin version of josephus which was published by cloven in the early sixteenth century and frohmann puts it in basic good lassen than it was in the land of interior acilia but if you go to the earliest greek russian own. Wish frozen is intake. As soon as i got my head son syria sue yet and this area declined syria at all. Because they're they're quite a few. I can think of nearly half a dozen references to silently add referring specifically to stop. Okay what the word means. Siad is the serious worshiping lamps. And which are the serious worshiping labs. Of course we know that serious was of central influenced to egypt and so the first part of the book is led slow case. Can we location pillow. The lost pillar later called a pillar of enoch. That's what i was going to ask. Why did get into name of enoch into that because we know know of course on the bible but also in a very particular context especially in in in the western esoteric tradition right. Well this whole project came about. Because i was contacted by professor gaby boca genie of the university of michigan around. Something called the the inuk. Seminar which is an international body of scholars who study set second temple judaism and the origins of christianity. And the book hawk. As you probably know that famous book being Is in fact the most reproduced book in the whole circle density scrolls. So the i was asked to do a paper for a four for the conference couple of years ago in florence. I suppose to do the masonic the masonic cream sonic reception of the book amino and that was great for me. Because i'm fascinated by the book being written about it. In my book on john the baptist and here was opportunity to really get to grips with this problem not of enoch and freemasonry which is a certain parts of the book. The whole history of inaugural altogether and wii knock has been identified with hermes trice justice. And this is where. That's why we are on false. Hermes because as i thought was the greek god of magic rising as cooled by at george saint the is anti writer as the amaze and the second hermes is the one figure we knows he's tries to justice and by the tenth century hermes triesman justice become identified by arab scholars particularly within And so we that we have this whole combination. We got just see us talking about a cepheid pilla. We have a tradition coming at jewish. And we have the developed a hermetic arising and its influence as well and i thought well let's unpack. Let's try and unpack all. These trans am chauhan. They were and that was the real fascination. The book was to show and to revealing clearly. For the i think the first time the the real genesis of magic writings. I mean there are some major questions which none of the evidence will give us an answer to the real question here is did joseph get his bills story from a medic texts in aged or did the medic texan. Egypt writes about hermes transcribing tablets before the flood in the corey cosmic book in the korean cosmo sure in the mexican pricing. Did he get the. Is that an egyptian. Greg addiction copy from the inaugural with or does the enormous especially as interpreted. I just saved us in fact. Is it a steal from the great. How egypt. She's and so we really at the origin of medicine itself and inau quiz actually bound up with this. This mysterious question from the beginning and it is interesting. Skull is by the ninth tenth century. We're already saying well. We can't find the difference between inau saying must be the same. Only.

"He's been pretty inactive and he was an active guy before that he's been pretty inactive. I did think. Max holly beat them. If we over ten rounds. I think back hallway one more round the not in. If you go off the you know the two fights he won more rounds than those ten rounds. So i do think back. Hallway is your actual real champ walking the streets right now. Max debbie brier. Tayyeb emma math. We know this never works. You look at since brighter. Take your loss lass. And how to fight against zombie. He had the fight of his life can screen zombie. He took two years off got a whole new camp. Reinvented himself his jitters. Always going to be there you know. He could do that and sleep so he still t- city but a striking in his foot work and his movement has gotten so much better to to pick apart a guy like cream zombies no punk man so if i look at the two of them it's like right. We know what vocal ascii brings and. It's fucking good. It's championship material. But he hasn't gotten better. Brian taylor has gotten a lot better too and he was a monster to begin with. He was a raw monster dude. He had a lot of hype behind him. Then random mac. Halloween was not ready for that. You know they were trying to push them to be the champ and be the next phase of the he just didn't have the tools in place to to get it done and went back to the drawing board. Got a hold of camp officer. He's worked hard at striking and now all right you want stand with him. It's gonna be an issue you want to know you don't want to the ground with them you're gonna lose their so i look at the fight i like. I like bryner take a man. I think if there's a finishing this fight because priority you got it done via submission i i can see. Brian ortego hurting him on the feet. Whether it's a knee and elbow a straight writes something like that and then getting hold of his neck and finish them i. That's how i see it going down so my party. Would that would be to parlay that with a finish and you make some bank now. He's the dog. So it's a big. If but i ride with t. Sadie man. i think he gets done Shevchenko clearly done with lauren. Murphy but warned murphy. I think you guys will be surprised. How fucking tough she is. She not mom power but she will lose that fight via decision. She's too big too tough to get finished. So let's can go a five rounds. This is what nick as do. This is the version get. this has gonna look they. Don't know what the fuck trump nobody knows. We don't know it's been six years. Do i saw there was against emerson silva right crazy fight for him. He's the one lane down in the goddamn cage and guess the shitty suspended because a weed was senate being six years In the the interesting before that even anson civil fight silent. Silence is crazy active. He was inactive before that so he bought answering silver in two thousand fifteen the fight before that he thought george saint-pierre in two thousand thirteen two years before it. So you two years off fi anderson silver as a no contest right and then took six years off so he had one to check this out. He had this hour active. Is he had one fight in two thousand twelve against carlos condit loss that had a took a year off at one fighting at george saint-pierre then he decided to take another two years off at one fight against the nfl silva stake in six years off. No what kind of nick. Dear's rena get now. Are we get a guy who's really good at boxing and goes forward and does his antics and has a granite chin. I suspect that is he in shape. We'll see on. Instagram has posted more patients in this grim shape. Men so we know he does all those triathlons and all that shit so he's going to be in shape there so we can bank on that he's going to be in shape. So that's not commune issue. He looks great. He actually wants to do this. He's talked about lou phenomenal shape. Dude phenomenal shaib. Got how about this. Go back to that. How about a comment on that page from this troll at nick is why let just get you like that bro. You talking about from from eight years ago you talking about eight years ago. "Retailing experience. Got your sued on your element. Well i mean. I mean that's on the track. Probably you know it's probably like a half now forty five minute training and just like listen. You're not you're not lewis hamilton. Let's just exactly exactly kill yourself or anybody else or record yourself. A one i did was like half day. It was four. Yeah so it was like an hour and a half in the classroom just getting ready like just learning about the car and and learning how to go around the track and basically prepare for a race with and then we got two races out of it which was awesome. Like so. you're not actually. They don't have ten cars over there. That same time in your legit racing like go-carts dyson. It was it was like five cars. I think on the track and we were sort of racing and that's why the beginning of it was so intensive because they wanted to make sure that you would be able to safely pass somebody that kind of thing but it was cool. It was awesome. I would. I would do it again in a heartbeat. So what did you finish. That's great question. I wasn't that's the other thing i was like i. All i wanted to do was passed my brother which off so and then but then he immediately passed me. 'cause i spun out off the road kind of thing it was. It was awesome man. It was awesome cool task. Do you have a product. Not a school is that but Yeah i've seen this advertisement. Come up in the old instagram ads baseball. It's a workout product endorsed by mma fighter. George saint-pierre with hair. George saint hair. So he's behind this product. And i like pulling myself up. I like doing pull ups every once in a while. Doorway for it. So that's why. George saint peter's product here which is just a some you build yourself. You can stretch on it as well if you feel like it. George put it together. Yeah and then he can stand behind it and look really cool and then there's like ikea furniture in the photo. I have ikea furniture. I should have a baseball. So yeah i think this is I buy i buy something. That's endorsed by george saint-pierre he's he's a truthful man he's not gonna screw. I don't think this thing is just going to topple over so what it's called. What was it called base. Place bar baseball bar. That makes more sense said locks on there where the giants the equipment. You really needed him equipment. Yeah work and eat what. We used to work at protein. Next question here. Hey no shaves. How is it that a podcast where everybody looks like. They lost their ability to shave. Has the best steeped ads ever my question what. Nba player had or currently has an endorsement deal. That makes absolutely no sense. Ps this email was made with gram really turn in sleep oil awesome. That's from a meal so trey it's a fun question. What maybe one from the past or one currently. It's just a weird endorsement between the player and the product you know looking at them and looking at how his career turned out. You can certainly see. Why karl malone endorsed rogaine but to me. That is still the funniest advertisement in the history of professional sports occur athlete advertising a hair loss supplement. I love it especially considering at that time. On top of the world perhaps the most famous and popular person on earth was michael jordan. Who was making ball. Beautiful basically ever is like. Hey we're going bald shaven heads. We don't need any hair up here. Look at right said fred. That was two guys who both went bald and they were both too sexy for their shirts and for their hair. But carl malone was like no way not me. I'm wearing my la gears. And i'm keeping this little bit of hair. I have but even eventually karl malone was like what am i doing. What am i doing pitch. And rogaine here. Gimme the razor. And then he went bald just like everybody else in the early nineties. Two thousand yeah. That's a good one. I forgot about that one that he was pitching that for a little bit there. Okay task what are you got to go the raptors i gotta go to hito turkogle after signing what was and still is the biggest free agent signing in the franchise's history. The wraps hooked him up with their pizza chain pizza pizza and then he got fat notice shake so he started yeah terrible so he started doing these commercials where j travel the head. Coach would call him and he was apparently doing scouting but he was also eating pizza at the same time. It went terrible. It went horrendous. Five year contract the price catch of the two thousand nine free agent crop of all the teams the rafters got him and then he got fat literally got fat and decided that i had my best year last year. You guys paid me a boatload of money. i'm done. I'm just going to sit back and eat my pizza. It's like sketch. It really is like this this endorsement these not only huffing on pizza and this commercial. He's eating plenty but he's also drinking sprite. I mean it's it's just. It's too perfect zone though the three hundred acc. I don't think he got paid for this at all really. I think it's pizza. Gave comes along with the team. Yeah that's that's true. It was a tie in with the squad. Great great commercial classic commercials. Look it up if you haven't seen those assume there. Did you pull that from online. I guess it's got to be sure. Yeah it's one of the ten worst endorsements in player history as the title i. It's one of those little research for this. I like it Lee where are you going with. Blind actually similar in a food endorsement. And i don't know if you remember when lebron james is probably maybe ten years ago now he was after shoot around. Someone said you know. When did you start really focusing on your body. And he was like. Yeah when i was a kid. I used to mcdonald's all the time and yeah. But i don't need that anymore. I used to drink product. Do whatever i wanted. And then someone said to him sponsored by by mcdonalds. Oh yeah that's right. yeah. Yeah i eat. I eat sausage mcmuffin every day that he basically just said. Don't anyone if you want to stay in shape. Mcdonald's i get paid like four or five million dollars to endorse a but there's no way i'll make So you know kind of basically blew the whole the whole the roof off the whole thing. I mean for the cash man for the cash was also sponsored by dunkin. Donuts at the time and i don't know if he still has his own soft drink but you kind of figure that lebron maybe does peop- zone soft drink but he ain't drinking at the shape good. He's in so i think i want. I want an athlete at one point to stand up and say yeah. I mean i know it's money we want. Wanna make as much money as we can but i had to turn this dan. Because i'm not eating this stuff. So you know have lots of mba players in their post game press conferences arrive to the table and basically slap whatever you know. It'd be the gatorade or any sort of water brand or whatever that they are not linked with. Yeah that's a little different. But they're getting paid to do this. Get outta here like west brockton and a ton and yeah dirk me dirk dirksen. Yeah i as well. I don't know if he Some people got gatorade deal. Some of them got all sport. Yeah yeah for all. Those different drinks are biofuel. Isn't that one of them. Body armor armor yup critical. I feel like is the only guy who has kind of gone anti mcdonald's and that's because he eats plant based diet so his advertisement comes at the very end of the movie game changers which he executive produced for netflix. Hey chris paul this gain. Mcdonald's yeah i'll go with. Anthony davis and mobil one oil. It's just strained because again. I know next to nothing about cars but oil oil or lubricant for your car. I mean to help maintain it right. keep keep things running there under the hood and it's just ironic a little bit. That anthony davis guy that it feels like he's out of the lineup every ten days like he needs some oil on the joint selena. He's pitching this and then they also make him super tiny and they ran with that for a long.

"Are powerless. There's a danger. This kind of dictatorship. I don't know that the audience cares though as long as they get their their pound of meat. Every time you have see is showing fight. I do believe if the employees all decide to band together and form like do some exercise some form of collective action and then they're punished for it. That is a violation of the law. The national labor relations board would then get involved. But at that point your career may be over. And if you don't have any money and your leverage is that you could make money one day if you play by these horrible rules. What is the incentive. Dana white is gonna fight anything in the way of the union. I asked him about that and his response was. I've never heard of unions making anything better. They do for some of the people who are mistreated. But when you're in his position they don't though jessica when your hip position unions don't make anything against unions why we have like a forty hour work week and like people can eat lunch now and like the weekends exist got fighters such a stupid thing to say. I'm sorry it's not for him. not for him. They heard him. It's it might be a stupid stupid thing to say it's not a stupid thing to build your business on if you have that kind of power and you can just continue to mind the oil of injustice and nobody seems to care that fighters after winning fights telling you they're broke. They're not being asked about being broke. They're volunteering. they're being asked the question. Can you take some time before your next fight and the answers. How can take some time. I gotta make money. I gotta eat sly understand why it's stupid for him because it's going to cost more money when he has to pay people. But just the generalization that unions have never made anything better when like the vast majority of workers in this country since industrial deletion have had their lives improved in some way because of the original unions that formed at. There's not there's not a billionaire ignorant to snap a billionaire in this world. That hasn't gotten there through the exploitation of something or someone media in to tony's point about the contracts that these fighters sign in some respects. This is born out of a sport. That was maybe not going to succeed right. And a lot of these fighters they probably signed their lives away when they join because if they hit it big than it's worth whatever sacrifice you make on the front whatever freedoms you have contractually george saint-pierre signed at a time where the idea of him becoming a massive star was probably a very remote possibility. Making whatever it is you do. Make is probably massive for him his own at the time and with no union and no collective bargaining. You can't fix the rules that have been in place since before your organization was making all this money. It's what ends up making it more and more like the ncaa's and it's what ends up making these bodies. There's a lack of humanity in it as or more disposable than even the ones in the nfl where you only know a couple of the skill position and you can run through any of the linebackers and you can make a running back position not matter in a salary cap sport but even where the injustices are in football got at least. They're collectively bargain iraq. At least their partners their room and they're negotiating a more reasonable percentage of the profit and the revenue. Even to what he's point you make it to the top of the sport. Tyron woodley was a five time champion in his in his division. And he's got to go. Fight jake paul to make more money than he did a champion. They're making a lot more. That's how they're they're making relevant. The paul's because the polls are smart about just come over here. You'll get a bigger percent of the pay per view. We will end up splitting a pay per view in a way. I wouldn't you do it more reasonable. And someone like ben. Aspirin is going out there and getting knocked out because he's not a boxer and he's fat and everything else and not trying for a fight in a art or skill set that he has not mastered he goes out there gets knocked out and get paid more in a fight for fighting a paul then. He did at any point in his career. It is crazy. I don't know how it changes though unless people get bothered by the too powerful having too much power and abusing that power. I don't know how many more winning fighters have to come out and volunteer to you. That they're sleeping in their truck or that they're just not making anything making any money in the fighting games to guy if they all said. We're no longer fighting. How quickly would it change. Do you think guts he. He can get others to fight there. We will walk. There's no real true. Start our sport. I could just put any two people on the cage. That's all you people. There are true stars in that sport. Conor mcgregor is a monster payday who will get paid anybody who fights opposite him. I'm talking about the feeder system. I'm talking about everything that happens before the five guys who get made but even even the biggest names in that sport have complained about the percentages. They get you.

"But i highly doubt that happens but if it does that would just be the coolest side ever like i would. I would be so happy for both men to be able to get that opportunity. Like that ak because of how the world is if you're the you have c. Do just just put the rockets to these guys and just try to get this fight booked. Ace app like dana said asap. But you trying to get this one before the year is over just sort of throwing gasoline on the fire that that already is cyril gone. 'cause like no. I don't know if anyone just listening to sean in the poll results. I mean i. I'm shocked eight. Twenty four zero. God is is insane. That is an insane number. So just if you're the sieges based on the reaction that seals getting right now. Are you just doing everything you can to get this book as soon as possible. Get it in before the kaunda flips. Twenty twenty two if in this scenario magically dana white or the What i'm doing is opening up the checkbook for john jones and that fight happened but i guess i guess you're saying you're saying within reason within reason. Uh yes if. We're assuming. The johns jones got who fight is not part of the scenario. Yeah of course. Of course you had before the end of the deal strike while the iron is hot and all that again. i don't think it gone. Gunfight fight ever reaches the magnitude of of a johnson gone. Ooh so i'm not sure. If the how much of an impetus there is. Put it together but getting ghana back in their cut this crap that they were doing tonight with the oh while he's on vacation so that's why you know if you wanna take time off and on vacation relaxes okay. We're kind of moving on with a dude through under the bus in the first team seconds of the paper. Horrible ridiculous man. What the hell's going on do just like won his title. A couple of the heavy goat like this is shaun crazy. We don't even eat again to it. But i have a lot of faith in may fans that they're smarter than that that they don't they didn't buy into that stupid clip that they'd know that god who who it still the guy beat even though again like apparently eighty percent thing gone will be If is the guy to beat as it were but But yeah no. I think that the readers reasons you bias at its at its highest. I think as the fight the fight. It's booked and it gets closer. It'll be a little bit more reasonable but it would not surprise me would not surprise me to see gone favored. I do think he has the right kind of style to be to be the undisputed champion heavyweight. I personally picking gone again. I'd have to wait till the cycles to really break it down but I don't. I don't blame people for her. Picking on tweeted that he could become the standoff heavyweight version of george saint-pierre and i'm not saying that those guys have origins in french canada. But there's he's so methodical There's a style that's not always going to be appealing to fans. But also a dominance there that i think people will have no choice but to respect So i feel like if he does if he can get over that hurdle. I really don't know who is going to beat this guy over the next three years and so So i understand the hypo- look i'm buying. It has a massive..

"Just have their back and then like eventually like you said like they'll come around in whether it's like coming to church or just a i i need help. I mean sometimes like these kids technically like. I just want to tell you i love you and if you pray for my family that'd be awesome. It's like those things. Like george saint like those make your day because all the hard work all the labor you put in all the time that you encourage and pray for those dudes. It's like it all kind evens out and it feels really rewarding. But i think the biggest thing is just like hiding their back taking out to lunch after games like not not coming in with having all the right answers but just like being there when they need it because like some of those kids have crazy home lives and you'd never know it but like when they need someone to talk to in. There's no one better for for them to point to jesus. I guess one of my friends. 'cause it being somebody's jesus friend like they're they're never going to you know not never but they're not coming to you saying hey. I want to become a christian. Or i want to. You know. go to church with you but when life goes crazy. You're the person that they call and say. Hey i mean. I don't even know if there's a god but i know you believe in prayer and i could really use prayer right now or positive thoughts if they that's how they prefer to say you guys are in the sports world and i am like the farthest thing from an appalachian. I'm a musician. So i that's the direction i took But and my brothers are both athletes. And i feel like some of the things that we experience them With their friends and in the sports world and me with my friends in the music world relationships outside of the actual activity what we experienced was a very secular world right. I mean obviously but a world where we were constantly in contact with people that had very different beliefs than we did very different morals than we did and the opportunity to make very different choices than we were raised with. And i feel like college even more than high school. It was like the world was like here here. All of these other options that you could choose you guys already find yourself in situations like that..

"Do you think more fire should do the same if everyone does it. They can't get in trouble besides the union. I think this is the way so sean. Is there any possible scenario. Where all fighters just band together and just say. F this crypto stuff. We're just going to take them off for you. Walk out now. There's scenario that i've given up hope on this. I up on this years ago. For i think the first half of my career. I was a very loud in ardent supporter of the idea. That these guys needed unionized. In i would write all these stories about it and do all this research about it and ultimately led to nowhere right. It led to a bunch of failed unions and just very ridiculousness. All around is just like to save dana during the. Yeah yeah yeah it this. I've given up. It's not my responsibility to make sure that these guys get together. I don't think it's ever going to happen when i when we did. The anonymous fighter survey in. I think it was twenty twenty last year over at the athletic my former place of work where we talked to almost two. I think it was close. One hundred seventy or two hundred fighters anonymously and just sort of asked him a lot of questions trying to get a gauge of the landscape overwhelmingly. They all supported the union. I think i can't remember the exact number but it was close to like seventy or eighty percent. Were either for the union or not against the union and yet over the course of all the interviews. I did for that again. Talking to these people even anonymously even even anonymously like these people know their names are not gonna be connected to this. I had countless fighters who were sort of scared to answer the question. Or we're trying to dodge the question or or skirt around it. And then i had a whole another group of fighters who would say yes. But i know for a fact is never going to happen because we're all too selfish and all we all think we're going to be the next conor mcgregor and that's it they every most fighters think they're going to be that guy most spiders think they're gonna be tomorrow's men they're going to be the dominant champion. Even maybe they don't think they're going to be connor and they don't think they're going to be this bombastic. Most fighters think they're going to be with a new smart or a peter yang or something like that. They think they're eventually going to reach that point and then they're going to get what's there's an unfortunately only the one percent of the one percent can do that right so no i don't. I don't think that will ever happen. But the idea. I did enjoy seeing connor. Just say you know like these people aren't paying me. I'm going to just wear whatever i want. Somebody tried to stop me. i did. I did of all connor antics last week. That was the one thing that i actually kind of found pretty enjoyable. Yeah fan asked me on twitter about the union thing. And i was like yeah. It'd be a good idea but it's never going to happen. This and then his response was feel you at some point you just. You can't be the one that cares more than the fighters and i was like. That's a good way putting it. That's exactly it. Someone told me two years ago. I feel like i care about this more than the fighters and that sort of when i decided that i don't care about this anymore and that that resonated with me of like yeah. I think you're actually i. A lot of the media cares about this much more than the actual fighters do so at that point right. I can't fight to fight. But i i get it too. Because we it's look fighters every fire. That's been very vocal about unionizing. Look what's happened to them not good. Or that's that's what. I was gonna say 'cause i don't know that that's true right because donald surani george saint-pierre t. j. dillashaw. They all supported that union. And they favor like there are a lot of guys who supported all these various union efforts over the years. And then you know. I don't know they slide. A title shot their way or they slide a contract extension their way or something and it's just like oh yeah i mean donald soroti lasted with the way whatever that was called for like twenty four hours. It was like the next day he was telling people. Like oh i don't know what that was. They tricked me or something. That in fact i'm paraphrasing that. I just up for a free t shirt like cut off the head of the snake and the rest of it shrivels up. I think lizzie. Smith has been kind of critical on george saint-pierre about that too little bit. You know fairly. I'd say fairly out of that. Whole situation questions from Will i think that connor will. While i think congress. Oh it was awful. How is this different. From a rap battle. I know it comes off eminem versus moby najah versus gnaws. I know you all listen rat to keep the same energy. They both can and in horrible things. I wrapping kind and there wasn't a beat when it's this is their fist. Fighting like eminem and moby jaeger's is not like someone said something mean about the other over a it'll be i get in the nineties nyc and roll up on you and just like decapitate you if you wanted. But that's not how it works. These days i guess it happens with various other people in the bloods are in the rap game now. But no i would not i would say this is a lot different compare turntables gave. No if like if if john cavanaugh in roddy showed up at the next fighters only award like they did at the source awards bike and that was and they were like if you all now with west coast. Throw that f you if they did that. Maybe until i see that ain't happening well done. Casey good produce right there fairly nauseam with that night to back in the nineties also gnaws bj in that. jay z. Are we still keep scoring that. Geez man well. He won the battle. He wanted every battle. But now i'm gonna say this and then we can move on nozzle on the battles jays. Signs gnaws to his record label so he won the war. He makes money off and is now moving on herb dean stoppage trips. Yes in your opinion. Do you think the stoppage by her dean. And the fight between sean o'malley and crispin tina was justified. Do herbs stopped the fight due to a happened to cavalcade and all the damage. He took which caused more controversy. And why the fight was stopped sooner most prized serb called this one. When there was only thirty seconds left you might as well let them with you go out. On the shield justice cater did when he fought from from my standpoint. I thought this was a little peculiar case. You want to talk about this so have at it. This is a great question. Is the question. I this is one of those rare occasions. Were mean dana white. Were right on the same page. Like dana said that by could have been stopped at pretty much any point after the first round. And i agree. I don't i if anything was a late stoppage but a late stoppage is still better than no stoppage and if those last seconds luckily luckily luckily sean o'malley hands are made a blast. So both of them. I think he broke broken both of his hands. That's simply reason why he couldn't knock Mr moti no out. Yeah mister medina. You're tough congratulations. But that's not what i mean like. You got what was it. Two thousand and strikes he got hit with a record number of significant strikes two hundred and something. Yeah and it was all one sided. It was like two hundred and thirty. Maybe yeah i don't. I just don't.

How I Built This
The Story of Burt's Bees and Roxanne Quimby
"Show. How Roxanne Quimby took a roadside Honey stand in rural Maine and turned it into birds bees. One of the biggest natural personal care brands in America. Every Sunday at my local farmer's market. There are people who sell homemade hot sauce and handcrafted wallets. There's seemed a woman who sells mohair scarves using the mohair from her inquiry. Goats imagine going to your local farmers market in say main back in the mid nineteen eighties. And if you happen to be near Bangor, you might have come across Roxanne Quimby and Bert shabby. It's selling jars of Honey Honey from birds owned beehives charming, right? Maybe buy jar and move on. And Roxanne would keep undoing what they were doing. You. Do it. You were doing except Roxanne thought. Hey, could we make in sell candles from all the beeswax we have or could we use the beeswax to make other stuff? Okay. So you can kind of figure out where this is headed. Because that of course is what happened and even though Roxanne and Bert never intend. Added to build a billion dollar brand or even a million dollar brand. It just happened. Of course, a lot of that had to do with Roxanne's passion and drive, but the idea was never to build something massive. It was a farmer's market product today walk into any drugstore in the US or even overseas in you will find an impressive display of birds bees products lip balm lotions, soaps, shampoos all labeled with the face of a heavily bearded man named Burt. The likelihood that Roxanne Quimby would build a massive company or any company at all was so implausible back in the early nineteen eighty s when she was a single mom waiting tables at a diner and a decade before that she drove across the country from Massachusetts where she was from to San Francisco seeking out a simpler life a life without lots of material needs. It was adventure. To go all the way to the west coast from New England and New York, it was a great unknown. And I had always wanted to be an artist from the time I was five. So it seemed like a natural place to go to art school. I guess you got there and what like nineteen seventy around. Then get tummy what tell me what your impressions of San Francisco were like at the time. I think San Francisco kind of unlocked itself to me while I was there. It was a pretty little town. But the depth of experience that I had their took some time to assimilate and understand, you know, I I cross a great cultural bridge while I was out there. What do you mean by that? I learned to think differently and to probe more deeply everything needed to be reevaluated. And looked at again. So you start to sink like what you're all the way you thought of the world before was this wrong. Well, it was too limited. And I think that the material world was too important. And really it's not as important as I was taught that it was we were encouraged to make a good living. Both of my sisters had MBA's. Like, my dad did and earning power and ones that chievements were emphasized, and I took a turn to the extreme left when I went to art school and rejected the pursuit of material comforts who's really quite wonderful. Yeah. And and so you're in San Francisco, and you're kind of going through this. The transformation this personal transformation? Can of rejecting your go out and money kind of way, you were raised which was way, many many many people raised and what did you think? Did you think I don't need that life? I want a different life. What was what did you start to think about the life? You wanted to have. Well, I wanted meaning and I wanted to live deeply I was very influenced by throw who wrote about it quite beautifully. I was looking for transcendence. I just my world just got bigger, and I felt my relationship with it expanded. I I guess you had a boyfriend in San Francisco at the time and the two of you decided to like go off around the country to find a place to live. Yeah. This is George Saint Clair boyfriend at the time. And and and so we would you guys. Do you just
