"Podcast Gary parish Matt, norlander, now in a T-shirt. I shamed him. I shamed him into dressing the way we agreed to dress three days ago on a conference call. Chats to my guys at HDI, by the way. That's why I'm wearing an HDI Colton Houston. This was not designed, but that happened to me when I was, what if I had shown up just in the dress shirt with no understood underneath? You could be topless. That's weird behavior, but so I do not endorse that. You would be topless? Yeah. I would be covered. You would be topless and we would nickname you must. Okay, that's actually what if I what if I, what if I went mus on this headquarters desk at the end of the podcast? I will not. I will not. That is not happening. Well, that's one way to go viral. It is. There's lots of ways to go viral. That's one of them. That's one of them. Yeah. That's not going to happen. But it's great to, by the way, it's great to be with you. It's great to be live. This is, you know, this is a different little vibe here. We've got some folks around the set here down at the convention center. George R Brown, convention center, downtown Houston. And yeah. Podcast live. We need to do this more often. We got to do it more often. You got to come to my place right around right around the corner from what is it, Hudson market down there in New York City? It's a very deep inside joke even podcast people don't know that jokes. If we're going to do it more often, I suggest not doing it at the same time as a Houston Astros game. And so that's literally happening right now. Yeah, I didn't find out where we were doing this until about two 30 in the morning. Okay. And then I knew because on the production meeting, we talked about it. I was, I was supposed to get texted and addressed and maybe by the way, hold on. We buried the lead. Listen, we'll talk stand there in a second. Maybe. We wish that the Astros came together. I am baseball podcast. We made it happen. And by the way, I didn't suggest this GP took care of it. 'cause he's like three bets behind anyway. Since I won the final four and one, I don't even know what the tallies are, but you have been well surmounted GP picked up the cost of my ticket. So it was a good time. Your ass grows one. Actually, you know what? This guy showed up in a mets hat to a White Sox Astros game and you know what, you know, you know what people were saying. That's then behavior. Is it? That's them behavior. I was walking. I didn't walk through the stadium at one point on a drink run. And how you were going to say that? And I asked most fans saw my hat and he goes up. The mets suck. I'm like, you think I don't know. I've been doing this my whole life. You think I don't know the men suck? Come on, man. I was at an angel of mince game one time, and angels at the same time of deal. Angel Sam was like, let's suck. And I was like, yo, you're an angels fan. Relax. Take it easy. Which is incredible, actually. The last fan base that needs to be talking trash is the angels. Yeah, relax, buddy. You're not a Dodgers fan. Relax. So yeah, I find out really supposed to be here and then I go, okay, how long is it gonna take to get there? It says like 17 minutes. I said, cool. Yeah, so I leave in what I think is plenty of time. And then I hit Astros traffic. I had to jump out of my Uber. Is half a mile away from here and walking the rest of the way with a garment bag and a computer, walking past, I bump into a San Diego state fan on the street. He's like more of a fist bump. There we go. Oh, a lot of stuff going on. Back to basketball. National title game. Is tomorrow night. It's here inside in our G stadium in Houston. And UConn, as mentioned, opened as a 6 point favorite. It immediately went up to 7.5. The latest number I saw is Yukon -7. So like I said, I'm not going to ask you what Yukon has to do to win the game. It's obvious. If you can't play as well, UConn will win. The question is this. What does San Diego state have to do to win this game? All right, so when we went into Saturday night and I spoke on headquarters, one of the biggest things I said, or the biggest thing that I thought needed to happen for San Diego state was that Matt Bradley had to play like the program's best player because he had not in recent games. That wounded now butler hit the shot, but Bradley was actually the best player overall. He went for 6 boards, 21 points, and 32 minutes, only one turnover. Played really, really well. And they got out to that 14 to 5 run early sds you did on FAU that wound up being a big case. I think that's got to happen again. I think Nathan mensah, who probably should have found out with about two and change to go, there was a 5th foul call that didn't get that didn't get called. I think he's got to play particularly well. Obviously they're going to need to shoot well. And I do think that they're going to have to try and they probably will succeed in this and dictating the terms of the way that the game is played. They're going to want to keep Yukon in the 50s. If Yukon cracks, now what actually wound up happening is FAU broke the streak. So it was 72 71. Teams and had scored that many points on sds, the entire season had actually beaten the Aztecs, so that trend finally broke Saturday night. But you do not, you don't want to let UConn hit certainly not 70. I would even argue 65, just because Yukon is also, that's the thing. SES uses slightly better per possession defense, but Yukon is also top ten and his top ten on both ends of the floor here. So slow the pace. Keep it, keep it to 65, 68 possessions. Certainly not as many as 70 because you don't want to you don't want to let you kind of Stephanie. It's hard for me to see the Aztecs winning this game if the huskies get to that threshold. You know, I don't really think seem to go state has to try to control tempo because Yukon doesn't play that fast either. They're both in the 200s and tempo, according to Ken palm. So it's going to be played at a comfortable pace. I do think they need to make it ugly. And I think Brian dutcher would probably agree. Basketball fans don't want to watch an ugly game on Monday night. But I think San Diego state fans probably do because that is your best opportunity to actually win a national championship. I told this story last night on the on college basketball podcast. I'll give a brief a version of it now, but it is the main thing that pops into my head as we get ready for a UConn San Diego state championship game. It was the 2009 title game. It's North Carolina, Michigan state. And North Carolina is like Yukon is tomorrow as significant favor. I remember Tom is those press conference on the Sunday before the title game.

"I mean, it was like, and you saw the ratings. I think the average 6 million viewers. I mean, it was massive, right? And part of what made that awesome is that it was a fun game that was still in the balance in the final minute. Final seconds. Final minute. And then we had that first national semifinal San Diego state forward Atlantic and it was awesome because it was up for grabs literally until the final set horn. And then we didn't have that really in the second semifinal. It's a little less interesting. I hope we get a competitive game. I hope we get a close game. And I'm thrilled that San Diego state is in this position after, you know, having that 30 and two season end in 2020, the way it ended. Obviously, nobody got a shot to win the national championship in 2020 because that tournament was canceled. But not everybody would have had a shot, a real shot to win it, had we played it. But San Diego states one of the teams that would have. And I remember making this point about San Diego state and back then. Okay, Kansas was going to be a one seed. And they lost the opportunity to play that out. But like Kansas is always going to have an opportunity to win a national championship. It's Kansas. Same goes for duke and Gonzaga and you name it. For San Diego state and Dayton in that year, you wonder. Will they ever be in this good of a position again to make a final four to win a national title? And here we are just three years later and saying they will see is in the national title game as a 5 seat. It's a tremendous story. They've only lost once since February 1st, we made a paid a lot of attention to farted. It's 35 and three. Well, it's any state's now 32 and 6. It's a good basketball team. And obviously an elite defensive basketball team. But they are a significant underdog and most people expect them to lose. Pretty convincingly, which is the reason the point spread has already moved in the direction it's moved. So I just hope we get a good game. And I won't be surprised if we do. How's our hourly fans doing? How's what? How's our alley fans doing? You know what? Can we retire yet? I don't think we can retire yet. We gotta get our alley fans account off the off the ground. That seems like an off season project, you know? Right now we're kind of in the middle of it. I'm doing television shows and writing columns and podcasts and kind of in the middle. I'm a little too consumed right now to continue to pursue our alley fans account, but we'll get there. We've got a long off season. Just two days away, strong, jaw. We got a, we got a long, off season, just two days away. Love it. Hey man, I know how not fun it is, sitting around waiting for me to get offset while you're at home. I mean, it's where you live. You're in the central time zone just like I'm in the central time zone right now. So it's one ten as opposed to two ten eastern, but still. I know that's not fun. So I appreciate you being here and staying up for me. And I owe you forever. Anything for you. Anything you're the best strong jaw. Shouts to David Downey. Shouts to Chester, South Carolina, Chelsea hook, Chelsea lawr now. Thank you guys once again for listening, watching the aisle college basketball podcast. There's more of us than there are of them. That needs to be reflected in the comments. Obviously, when you're in a final four, you bump into a lot of coaches and stuff, had a prominent coach. You walk up to me the other day. He said, GP. Smash it like you're breaking Davies. And it's just not the word you expect to ever hear out of somebody's mouth, you know? There's more of us. There is, though, that's a fact. And I'm glad and I'm glad that I'm glad that people have come around on that. Is controversial when I first started this movement in favor of premarital sex, but I feel like not only am I on the right side of history, I'm now in the majority and I feel like I always was just more now socially acceptable. Thank you guys for staying up late, not just strong job, but all of you here live. And if you happen to be in Houston, mat norland and I will be doing a live podcast at noon central, nada, can you turn your mic on and tell people where it is 'cause I have no idea. I'm sure insert woman's title name versus insert someone she's faced. Right, right. More rematches to come. Live will lose to a returning Charlotte because of course, we'll see. Don't remind me that. We're happy about live right now. This is good times. Let us enjoy the good times. Even Corbin versus McAfee is a rematch. I mean, they fought in 2009 when they were both on that football team. Jesus. You don't even know what team they were on. The football thing. They're on the same team, so they weren't fighting. Corbin, Corbin never played a down. He was on the practice squad. I remember being the Cardinals, I guess he was on a couple practice squads, but yeah. I mean, that's like Brock Lesnar, not a future Minnesota Viking. Correct? Yeah. Yeah, that's right. He didn't make it either. No, none of them do. So yeah, we're going to recap raw. Yeah. A little bit of SmackDown, just a little snake. There's one or two things that need to be talked about there. But first, we have some new patrons to thank. So thank you to max Jones, Bert fengle, toddy Beck, Justin caraz, Gabriel weidel, and will and Edmonton. Oh, in Edmonton. Oh, we got a phone call, will and Edmonton. How's it going, will? How you doing? Yeah. So thank you to those 6 wonderful people. Those are first timers. Yeah. Like we do every week. And if you want to join them, go to Patreon dot com slash what's wrong with wrestling, $5 a month. You can cancel anytime. We got brackets. We just had a new bracket we did last week. Go check it out. Best John Cena match and moment of all time. Two for bracket. It's a twofer. And the ratings are in and it's approved. It's a hit. It's a hit. Everyone liked it. John Cena might not move the needle on raw, but he moves our needle. Yeah, especially Eric's needle. He's the one that made the bracket. He was very excited. My needle was very moved. Do you have like pre John Cena raw and post John Cena raw and John Cena raw numbers? I just like John Cena raw. That'd be interesting to see. If he moved it like .1. Yeah. No, I mean, it actually was down from the previous week. It was down. Yes. Oh boy. That's right. Get that needle in the raw. So go to Patreon dot com slash what's wrong with wrestling, give it a try. And also, are you done? We're doing the plugs. You don't talk over the plugs, Eric. Don't talk about your needle during my plug. You're going to get burned if you talk over the plugs. Don't plug your needle in my plug. All right, so we also have to thank Kyle foxton. He bought two t-shirts. He got the logo end. Needle movement. Say you're lying idiot. You have one job. Dance monkey. Pizza. It's your most iconic line ever. It's my only line. Logo and pizza. Go to pro wrestling tees dot com slash what's wrong with wrestling to get one or two shirts or four or 5? Yeah, right? He may have taken advantage of that for the July. Oh, he did, yeah. Yeah. Good deal, exactly. And also, we are going to be at comic palooza. Hey, hey, in Houston at the George R Brown convention center. Yeah. We're going to be doing a live podcast there on Saturday, July 16th at noon. Yes, an Adam Cole is going to be there Adam page is going to be there. Whether they like it or not. I'm going to invite them on the podcast if they say no, then I'm just going to beat them up because they're Adam Cole's like 5 6. I can take him. I mean, I think there's a little bigger, but I'm sure I could beat him. I've had a bottle of chloroform just waiting for an opportunity. And if not, we'll pay sergeant slaughter 20 bucks to be on the podcast. Correct. That'll be something. It will. And then we always it's $18 just to get to see him. Yeah. Okay. And then we'll accuse you. Then we'll accuse sergeant slaughter of stolen valor. It's going to be great. Wow. Stolen valor. Remember there was a story a couple years ago where people were doing that to sergeant slaughter. Yeah. It was like, it was his character. Yeah. He was right. You don't chase down people on TV. Yeah. He's playing a role. Sure, he's still playing that role because he wants money, but hold on hold on. Illegally changes his first name to sergeant. Just S GT. Right. Period. He's not even the full name. He's not ultimate warrior. But he was a GI Joe. Yeah. He's got to be a real army guy. Right. What branch did we've already been down this road? What branch did you serve in? The GI Joe corps. The GI core. All right, so two quick things from SmackDown. Two quick things from SmackDown. Oh God. Yeah. Despite what we thought maps Dupree finally defeat. Max duffett finally announced his models. Oh God. And it was one we knew and the other one I had heard was the one where okay. Weird? I've heard that he was going to be the other one. They kept him for this. Yeah, so mace is now mase. Yeah. It's spelled the same, but there's a period in between. And some like dots and circles and weird things. And mansoor is now men swab men swab with plenty of accent marks, right? And he had a fanny pack around his chest. Yes, he did. My God, both models take turns walking down the runway while fake photographers take fake pictures. So they didn't even actually take pictures. They had the cameras and they were just doing this. It's like, those are cameras, right? Right. Like how about you actually take some pictures so we see the flash that use like the stage to create the flash. Of course. Lashes. Right. That's what D.C. is going to do in that flash movie. Yeah. Let's use the stage to create the flesh. Yeah. They better. I got. So then max the tree was in the ring and he said these men will titillate the juices of your guilty pleasures. Joke and you take this one, explain all of that. Eric, we're fighting after this. Tell us about your titillated juices. Look, I mean, these guys are, they're good-looking. I think my say.
