"Well, you've heard me talk about my guy, Kenny Pickett. There was a thing this week, as you know, I monitor the dumb preseason articles and all the quotes from the teammates. They named Kenny Pickett as a captain in year two. And I'm gonna give you two quotes. One about people who weren't surprised that he became a captain. One was left tackle Dan Moore. The way he approaches each day, the way he grasped the offense, he really has a voice. I talked to a lot of guys about it. Kenny has it. I don't know what it is, but he has it. There's one. Senator Mason Cole indicated he would have been surprised had Pickett not been named captain. We knew it all along, Cole said. He's been a leader since he got here. It's cool to see him have the role. I'm buying everybody's Kenny Pickett stock. I'm all in. I like the way he finished last year. We rode them a couple of times, a million dollar pick. What am I not seeing with this Pickett thing? It just seems like he's gonna be really good for them. The Steelers are gonna be really good. They finished last year wrong. Why have they only gotten one 10th of the Lions hype? It's interesting because they finished as good as any team in the league, and he won games at the end of the season. We're like, Kenny, we need an 80-yard drive against the Raiders on Christmas Eve. I'll go and get it. We need you to go and do this against the Ravens in a big game in Baltimore. He went and got it. I'll go get us that win. I love Kenny Pickett, but I didn't coming out of the draft. I had no feel for it. 19 other teams passed on him. It wasn't like Kenny Pickett was this hot prospect. It was that weird draft year two years ago where no one wanted any of the quarterbacks. Mike Tomlin is sitting there at 20th overall who had eyes on Kenny Pickett his entire time at Pittsburgh. If you've ever been to that facility, the University of Pittsburgh practices right next to the Steelers. The guys go in the hallways. They see each other. I used to work at Dave Wanstad at Fox. He's like, we were at Pitt, but one of the best things was we would take the NFL guys and just say, hey, meet Shady McCoy, meet Aaron Donald. You're almost at an NFL facility every single day when you play at Pitt. Kenny Pickett was playing in front of Mike Tomlin, so for Tomlin to draft him, it obviously shows you. So he saw stuff. I saw it. I saw it. I know it. I'm biased. Kenny Pickett's an Ocean, New Jersey guy. He's a Jersey Shore guy. I love everything about his moxie and his attitude. He walks in. He's got swagger. He's not one of these guys who's gonna talk the talk. He just kind of walks and leads by example. And those guys absolutely love playing for him. You add to the fact that there's not this huge veteran presence on that offense, and so he has a chance to be that voice. It's Najee who's in his third year. It's George Pickens in his second year. Deontay Johnson's a young guy. Friar Moot's a young guy. So he is the leader. He comes in there, and that defense is going to always be good. They're always gonna show up. TJ Watt is healthy. Again, there can only be seven teams to make the playoffs. If you're saying you're high on the Steelers, well, you can't also be high on the Dolphins, the Patriots, the Ravens, the Jets, the Bills, the Chargers. That's the struggle with this thing. I did my playoff picks for Good Morning Football. I have the Steelers as a wild card. I have the Ravens not making the playoffs. That's crazy talk. It's crazy talk. Everyone- It's not that crazy. Their defense isn't that good. Thank you. And they're also in an awesome division. So I have three playoff teams in the AFC North. Did you go with the Browns? I do. I'm gonna read it to you right now. Let's go, dude. Here's what I have.

"Um, all right. My, I just want everyone on that offense. I don't fucking care guy. Who is it? Hi Fitz. The Eagles backfield of the cheese receivers. Like I just feel like I'm playing a slot machine and I'm just like soullessly staring. I'm like, well, one of these hats, Patrick Williams led the NFL in passing yards last year. How is there no one other than Travis Kelce? Eagles have the best O-line. How would none of these running backs work? I feel crazy and I'm not going to get the right person. I don't care. I just keep taking them. Craig. Chargers. I think we're really underestimating what not having broken ribs will do to Herbert and what not having a first round left tackle will do to the O-line and what Kellen Moore will do as the offensive coordinator. I think this is the ultimate post-hype team. Hmm. Love that. Well, but they're the first round pick that they took the receiver, Danny. Um, not, not like an awesome preseason for him. It doesn't seem like he's going to play right. Well, if he plays not that much. Quentin Johnston. He, I think he was up and down. He had some exciting plays for sure. He had a couple of drops, couple of plays, and this is, well, this was on his scouting report. You know, he's a little bit unrefined, but he's so explosive, so tall. So, you know, he's just a big, tall, fast guy. And sometimes these guys take a little bit of time, but I, you know, he will play, I think. I think there's an alternate universe where Mike Williams is hurt by week three. Keenan Allen looks like he's 40 years old and Ekor gets dinged up. And then by week seven, everyone on Twitter is doing the, can't we just get Justin Herbert a good team. And we're doing that whole thing. I think that's there is sitting there too. Um, my, I just want everyone on that offense. I don't care guys, Dallas Goddard. And there's a lot of good stats for him last year when he played. And, uh, you know, everybody gets excited at tight end about the same four guys and I think he's just kind of lurking underneath there and it's just fun to have an Eagle. Did you pick one DK? You did, right? Yeah, I got one. Uh, I haven't gone yet. I got, I have the lions because you can go down the line in terms of the different rounds or whatever. I'm on Ross St. Brown, Jamere Gibbs, David Montgomery is the guy I'm choosing here. And then Jamison Williams late, you know, they have a couple other guys, Samuel Porter, their rookie tight end. I'm excited about, I basically want everyone on this offense and I, you know, David Montgomery to me is a guy that's totally forgotten. Um, you know, just in the fantasy world, people don't talk about him cause he's boring, but he's going from one of the worst offenses in the NFL last year in the bears and he's going to one of the better, highest scoring offenses for the lions. And I think he could really be, just be like a really good value. I don't necessarily think he's going to be a number one running back, but just be a really good value for you. All right. My year too early, fuck it guy who last year I think we all had George Pickens. Who do you have Ifas? Uh, Luke Musgrave, the tight end for the packers, the running, the running bit is, you know what? Rookie tight ends. They're never good. You can never expect anything out of them, but this year, this is the year it's everything different. And we've made a blood pact on our fantasy football show where if the rookie, if the historically good rookie class of tight ends, if these guys are in it, we'll never do it again. But Luke Musgrave, they're talking about him like he's the second coming. Like there might be three Travis Kelsey's between him, Darren Waller and Kelsey, but I mean, again, all the usual things where you're out on a guy, Luke Musgrave, he's going to play, but he's going to play. And I think he's going to be incredible.

"He I mean, we talked about him in last year's pod. And there was a lot more suspicion and dubiousness of but all of us like him, and he was incredible three years ago. I'm in. To me, it's one of the reasons I think the Giants are a playoff team this year. Darren Waller did not like Josh McDaniel's and he didn't like the Raiders. And there were a lot of issues, the contract stuff, and he's on the Giants. He's happy. Brian Dabel knows how to get him the ball. And it's just look, if I told you every every fantasy rankings, imagine if every single player is guaranteed to play 17 games. Where would you take Darren Waller? Because I kind of think he'd be a top 30, maybe a top 25 player. There's a 50 spot gap basically out of the fear that he misses games. What if he doesn't? I was talking to a Giants fan friend and he was like, we're using him like Kelsey. That's the level of optimism for Darren Waller. Craig, do you even need to go or should we just move on? We have to talk about him. He's the best player in the league. We have to dedicate a couple of minutes to him. Has anyone won the preseason more than George Pickens, man? My favorite type of guy is the former five star who got hurt in college and then dropped in the draft. And then he gets picked by a team in the second or third round. And he's just immediately good and everybody regrets not drafting him earlier. That's George Pickens. Maybe the only knock on him is that he might be better in real life than in fantasy because they kind of just send him deep like all day every game. But my God, he's officially joined the the hold the ball in one hand club. All the best receivers only hold the ball with one hand. George Pickens is already going up, catching balls, coming down with just one hand on the way down. Sky's the limit for George. We talked about him in last year's pod, but last year's pod, the QBs were Mitch Trubisky and Kenny Pickett. We had no idea if Kenny Pickett was going to be anything. And that was the catch was like, well, this is one of the worst quarterback situations in the league. So that's the asterisk.

"You mentioned them actually a minute ago. The Steelers, I'm not a big preseason guy because I just think, look, nobody's game playing for these games and you're not scheming and there's a million there. You're not playing everybody. The Steelers have looked really good. And Kenny Pickett, he had a lot of experience at Pitt, gets drafted in the first round, only first round quarterback in his class. Last year was a struggle. He didn't start the year as a starter, which was expected. Trubisky started the year, gave way fairly early on. Pickett then throws a few more interceptions and he does touchdowns, played a little better as the year went on. But I'll tell you, I actually am a believer in the Steelers as an interesting team. Now I'm not, again, in that conference, I'm not picking them to be going to the Super Bowl. Okay, let's just be clear. But I really like George Pickens like everybody else in the ball. Deontay Johnson is a very nice number two to George Pickens number one. I think they're interesting. They got Isaac Samalu from the Eagles in free agency, playing a guard, kind of beefing up that offensive line. And then defensively, you look at them and like, you know what they are. They're beasts up front. Nobody knows. Like Highsmith last year, he had 14 and a half sacks. Nobody even talks about it. They got the extension this offseason, rightfully so. Of course T.J. Watts here. Cam Hayward is there. They draft Nick Herbig, who has looked fantastic here in the early going on the back end. They've got Mika Fitzpatrick, Joey Porter Jr. A lot of people thought he'd be a first round pick. He ends up going with the first pick in the second round. You factor in Mike Tomlin. Like if Pickett's even halfway decent, it's a pretty good team. It's a pretty interesting team. Yeah, they kind of gave me the Washington commanders vibes where they're very loaded and they're like, ah, that quarterback, we just don't know. And, you know, I think Pickett will be better than Sam Howell. I don't know about somehow like, you know, he has his moments and we'll find out. But he was a first round pick and can pick it was. And, you know, he won a bunch of games a year ago. I think he was seven and five as a as a starter. And I think for Mike Tomlin, that's all he wants. He doesn't care about the stats. He doesn't care about your eight dot or whatever it is, how many yards on first down, things like that. If you're winning freaking ballgames, you're going to play for the Steelers. And I think that's what he did a year ago because I was kind of scratching my head. And Matt, you started the job in February and March. And I was really focused, you know, on the West Coast team with the charges, charges in the Rams. And I started doing my research. I'm like, why are they why do people like that? Can you pick it so much? And Alex Highsmith, I was surprised to 14 sacks. I'm like, OK, it's got the ball or I should pay attention more. We pick him like he's averaging like six yards per per completion. Why isn't there any why isn't it competition for Kenny Pickett? I'm like, OK, he won a lot of games. And then you're seeing him pushing the ball down the field in the pre-season. Again, it's pre-season. You don't know this time of year. You don't really think about it. Just play football. You push the ball down the field and you get lucky sometimes. Maybe that's a good confidence booster. But if they're not pushing the ball down the field with Kenny Pickett, I can see him pulling the plug on the experiment in year two. But I think the Mike Tomlin mindset, he did earn the right to be the QB one for this year because he won seven games a year ago. But you're right. That team is loaded and you got a lot of weapons offensively. If you're not going to improve those numbers, eventually you got to move on. I think the Steelers right now, you took them in the first round last year. This is year two of the contract. Pickett, realistically, in my view, has this year for sure. And then he's got next year. It's kind of like the Mack Jones thing, right? Mack Jones is now in year three. If Mack Jones isn't good, New England's probably looking elsewhere or they're starting to seriously look elsewhere. With Pittsburgh, Pickett has this year. But then it becomes like, OK, if he doesn't play well this year, and let's even take it a step further. Let's say he doesn't play well this season, but they still managed to win nine games. Then it's like, well, think about what this team would be with a quarterback who could really play. I'm interested in Kenny Pickett. I really don't have an opinion on him yet one way or the other. By the way, one guy to denote, because I always, I don't know why, I just always kind of followed this with him. I think it's interesting. So Marcus Golden is now at the Steelers. He had played with the Cardinals his first four years, then the Giants two years, and back to the Cardinals two years. So here's the sack totals each of the last five seasons for Marcus Golden. Two and a half, 10, one and a half, 11, two and a half. Guess what, Pittsburgh? That means you're in line for like a 10 or 11 sack season, because every other year Marcus Golden's great, and then he just can't have a sack the following year. So they are going to put pressure on teams up front. You know they will do that. They can play on the back end. They brought in Patrick Peterson as well, who's not the all-pro that he was in Arizona, but still a competent corner. I really like them. Again, to your point, I don't know that Pickett can elevate with that roster. If he can, I could even see them staying around in the hunt for the division. I just don't know that he can do it. I think Pickett definitely has this year or next year, but then it becomes like, okay, then you got to start talking about 50 options. Did they pick that up? Well, that's a long way down the road. Right now, though, Kenny Pickett's in a good spot. He's in a good situation. Great coach, ton of talent, talent you can grow with because it's young. This is an important moment for Pickett and his young development. I think that he has all that he could ever ask for around him, and yeah, it's a really tough division, but the Steelers are as talented, in my opinion, as Baltimore is. Except, of course, at the very, very important position of quarterback, but in terms of the rest of the 52, they're as talented. I think they're more talented than Cleveland, even if you want to factor in the quarterbacks. The Bengals are the team that, of course, you'll look at and go, okay, well, can you beat them out? I don't think so, but I think Pittsburgh's good. I think Pittsburgh's one of those underrated teams you were talking about earlier when you're looking for one of those five teams. Pittsburgh's one of mine. I think Pittsburgh's going to be much better than people think. Yeah, and we're going out for trends here. Mike Tomlin, they're guaranteed nine wins, right? Winning record every single year that he's been coaching, so Kenny Pickett gets that extra two wins, 11 wins there. They'll get into the playoffs, but even if you look at the AFC North, can they even be better than the Browns, the Ravens, the Bengals? I am very intrigued about the Browns. I don't know what Deshaun Watson we're going to get. Obviously, he's going through a bunch of things in his head, what's been going on the last couple of years. He admitted this, that he's lacking confidence, that he got it back this offseason. We'll see. We'll find out, but if you're the Steelers, can you even beat the Browns and the teams here in the division to make it a wildcard team? I don't know if you want to end here or what else we got planned, Matt, but the Browns, I just don't know about them. They're loaded. Miles Garrett, Nick Chubb, a lot of good talent on that team, but I just don't know if I'm going to buy in. Yeah, you know what? I visited the Browns. I will tell you, we stood outside for two hours and watched them practice in a driving rainstorm, which was quite pleasant. Deshaun Watson that day was bad. He struggled. He struggled. Now, again, it was in a driving rainstorm, so that also has to be factored in there, but I don't know. I think the Browns are going to be fine. I think they're going to be right around .500. Eight to nine wins. That's where they are. Wouldn't be shocked if they win seven, but Pittsburgh doesn't treat me, but in any event, yeah, we'll wrap here as we're approaching the hour mark. "Glad you're with us on NFL live. That was Aaron Rodgers last Wednesday, making it clear his intention was to play football for the New York Jets this season. Now 5 days later, still no movement there Adam. You told us that might happen. Where does this stand now? Laura, it's a standoff between the New York Jets and the Green Bay Packers. It's a friendly standoff in there can be and will be communication between the two sides in an effort to bridge whatever differences and disagreements they have and what the compensation should be for Aaron Rodgers. They'll continue to discuss what is proper. Obviously the packers want a significant return for the greatest quarterback in franchise history in his own words and we'll see if the two sides can figure it out. I think really the differences are more Ana Rogers and the packers. In fact, and it's gotten a little personal between the two sides than it is between the packers and the jets. The conversations will continue and they will continue until you would think something does get done, but right now they're in the same spot they were last week. Personal with Aaron Rodgers in the packers, you don't say. Okay, of course, the other major quarterback story out there right now involves Lamar Jackson who can now negotiate a deal with a new team. The Panthers have the first overall pick this year, GM Scott fitterer was asked today about the potential of bringing in Lamar. Listen to this. Like anything like you always have a conversation, but we were looking, he's a great option. There's a really expensive option, but we're focused on more of the draft picks at this point. Really expensive option interesting. Adam, what is the latest with Lamar today? Well, that's the issue you go down the list of teams that could be interested in Lamar Jackson and many of them have made quarterback moves. Now, you could argue and debate whether or not that's an upgrade over what would be the acquisition for Lamar Jackson, but we've seen the Raiders signed Jimmy Garoppolo and the Panthers trade up to number one and the jets being engaged in trading for Aaron Rodgers and the colts going and adding Gardner minshew and the commanders adding Jacoby Brissette to go along with rookie Sam Howard. And so teams are making moves. Now, you have to find the team that has number one, a needed to position number two, the salary cap space to pay Lamar, which is call it $50 million this year and guaranteed money. Three, the willingness to tie up your cap for a week with the idea that the ravens very well might match the offer anyway, a team that has the draft pick compensation. There's a lot that has to go into it. And again, I would open it up to everybody. You tell me the candidates right now that would logically make a move. And that's why the market isn't as robust as it should be for an elite quarterback like Lamar Jackson. At maybe does end up back with the ravens will of course keep an eye on that. Let's get to Odell Beckham junior now as Adam hang tight with us. He says he's confused where a quote came from that says he wants a $20 million contract. 20 million a year, by the way, he said, all I'm saying is four and up. Okay. Emojis in there too. And meanwhile, giants running back saquon Barkley replied to a highlight film of Beckham saying that OBJ is still that expletive. So OBJ told saquon to have GM Joe Shane, call his agent. He still has more quotes to do. You think that stuff? Do this to me. Inappropriate, okay? I should not be. What do you think it is, Dan? Let me ask you that. You're not going to say it either. All right, Adam. Boo boo. Anyway, Adam, what do we know about the interests surrounding Beckham right now? And look at teams that have made moves and wide receiver Dallas figured to be one of the potential landing spots for Odell Beckham junior and over the weekend, it traded for Brandon cooks and is paying him $12 million this year. That probably eliminates Dallas. We've seen the New England Patriots go out and give $11 million a year to do misused her. We've seen other teams like the Raiders go out and give $11 million a year to Jacoby Myers. There's only so many wide receivers and players you can play. Now there are still a handful of teams that are expected to have interest in Odell Beckham junior. The Buffalo Bills, the Giants, the jets, the rams. We'll see which ones decide to move forward for Odell Beckham junior. He will find a landing spot. The question is at what price? Yeah, meaning you heard some of the teams Adam just mentioned there. What do you think's the best situation for Beckham? Yeah, you know, he's a tough case because he's been injured and we haven't seen him play football in a while. So we know at his best he would have been one of us not the best wide receiver options in free agency, but we don't know if he's at his best. The last time we saw him producing at a high level was on the rams during their Super Bowl run, and that's the role I think I'd like to see him in this season, even if it's on a one year prove it deal as sort of a high end number two in an offense like buffalo's where you have a number one spawn Diggs who draws a lot of attention and in the backside you've got Odell back in junior who's still a very, very good route runner. He yards after the catch is an explosive player. That to me makes a lot of sense, but to Adam's point, of course it is about the financials. They did clear some room restructuring Diggs contract. If I was the bills, I would go all in on that because I do feel that was an element that was missing from their offense last year. Yeah, I'll follow me in this circle of mine. I'm going to play mine tricks on everybody because of what Mina just said. No, he doesn't need to be in the one spot. But he'll be a one in Kansas City, which should be the obvious spot for me. And when you think about it, he's only the one that wide receiver because Travis Kelce ain't no wide receiver. That's why he would be the one, but he will still be the two when you talk about the ability and effectiveness of the guys. I think you do it one year deal. 6 or $7 million in Kansas City. More than likely, you're going to end up in the FC championship based on what we done watched the last 5 years. And you'll have an opportunity, you'll have an opportunity as well to have dynamic numbers, show that you're back fully healthy without it all being on you, but you can make those explosive splash plays that Odell Beckham junior wants to make as well. I think Kansas City would be perfect with it. Great play caller. Great quarterback and a great tight end and you were just fit seamlessly in. I like him in Pittsburgh. There's really like two groups of teams that make sense to me. You're two are in their first group where they're you sit there and go really good team. Maybe a really good receiver away. Buffalo, Kansas City. I put Baltimore in there, both New York teams. The saints even, maybe even the Chargers. And then I transitioned to a group of teams that have the young quarterbacks and I sit there and go cheap young quarterback, the goal is to always maximize the talent around them. I look at Green Bay. I look at New England and that's why I go to Pittsburgh. In the AFC, it's really about two things. Either acquiring firepower or people to minimize another team's firepower. And Pittsburgh has nausea Harris. They have Deontay Johnson. They have George pickens. They have pet firemen with a young player at quarterback and Kenny Pickett. If you add Odell, that maximizes that young player's potential, it also gives you the firepower that at least gives you a chance to combat everybody in the AFC, even in your division like the Bengals. Good point, Dan. And I liked more his suggestion of the Kansas City Chiefs, the only issue Marcus is used basically came up with the price at 6 to $7 million for Odell Beckham

"The NFC east that with 7 and a half. I forgot that too. I went to a Washington Carolina preseason game when I camp tour just because it was just geographically worked out. And I was sitting there thinking like this is there was nobody in the stands, the media there were coming up and being like, what are you, what are you doing here? Is something wrong? Are you working on something? And I was sitting there saying, this is the most hopeless situation in the world, and then I remembered that two years ago, not only do they make the playoffs, they kind of gave it to the bucks a little bit. They did. Who is a Taylor heinecke? If there is a Tyler heinecke game, it was that. Well, we don't have to worry about seeing Washington the playoffs this year fortunately for all of us. So I sent you a list of teams. Yeah. I separated them into two categories. The kind of can't believe it, but there's a piece of you that does, right? And for me that the demarcation line was basically two to one because you can find all these odds on FanDuel. So Miami is plus one 42. I'd be a little surprised because I'm not a two guy. But I also wouldn't be shocked because, you know, they're fast, new coach, like, who knows? Cleveland's plus one 70. I guess the case for them if they could just hold on until the Sean comes back, if they're like. Yeah, whatever. I don't personally think that happened. I can see it. Vegas is plus one 70. I think a lot of people actually believe in Vegas so they're out. Arizona is plus one 18. I'd actually be very surprised if they made the playoffs, but plus one 18 means I'm probably two fever. Is that because of the division or because of the homework clause or because of the talent? I didn't like the Kyler stuff at all. I didn't understand that. I didn't like that they humiliated their quarterback right after they signed up to a staggering amount of money. I don't like how they ended the last two seasons. I don't think they're well coached. I don't like that Hopkins is out for 6 weeks. I think they've missed on some of their big picks, which always makes me nervous when you've just missed on the 17th pick in the draft. What else am I missing? No, you pretty much got it. It's pretty much a clean sweep. You're right. Yeah, they just. No Hopkins for 6 weeks, a big deal. And then the last kind of can't believe a team is the giants. Who Rahim is coming up after you, and he's been bullish on them all some of their plus two 25 to make the playoffs. I don't know. Listen, I really like Brian dabel spent a lot of time with him in the past. The way that buffalo basically tried to flush their entire roster over the first two years, like Brandon bean, I think after the first trick, the biggest cap hit in the history of football to get rid of a bunch of dog Whaley contracts. Like I don't think that the Giants themselves have high expectations for this year because they're kind of going on the buffalo method. So I don't I don't want to have high expectations in the actual organization if that makes sense. So I thought about putting them in the I can not believe a category. But I think everybody is so desperate to find an NFC east team. That this has led to this eagle Super Bowl hype train and now has led to a Philly podcast on the ringer and so I can't quite put them in there. I have 17s in the can not believe the category. I'm just going to rip through them, and then we'll go through them all in time. Pittsburgh plus three 30. Jacksonville plus four 50. Carolina four to one Detroit plus four ten Seattle 5 to one jets plus 7 ten and Houston 15 to one. There's some teams I cut out like Houston Chicago because they're not making the plans. So go one by one. I crossed off Pittsburgh because everything I've read about the offensive line has absolutely put the fair go to me. And I think their division is really good with Baltimore and Cincinnati. I wanted to talk myself into it. I like Flores being there. The post Ben Roethlisberger season, they hit on the pickens pick. They have some blue chip dudes. Wat people like that. I get it. Couldn't quite get top heavy. It's top heavy. They've got some absolute superstars, but then there's not a lot of B plus players there. You mentioned the offensive line. George pickens unbelievable. Like I was watching team reps with the sealers the two days I was there and I was like upset on if you've ever seen this but like I was upset when he wasn't in 'cause I'm like, I just don't I want to see this guy boss some random third year defensive. That was amazing to see. And I've never really felt like that with a rookie, but it was amazing to see Tomlin's never had a losing season, so I don't think they're going to be awful, but I just think that it's like I did a piece with their GM a couple weeks ago and I'm just looking at the roster and some of their some of the ways that they played last year and I just don't I just don't see it. We're aligned. So I wasn't that scared by trubisky who I'm not a fan of. But if I felt like they had,

"Think it's problematic. He was healthy last season. He played great. They relied on him to do all the carries. I think they're going to split it up a little bit more this season. And I think they're going to probably not have as much efficiency and going to go up against many more heavy boxes this year than last year. And injury factor two. You like that one house? Yep. I do. Of course. You know, in general, I mean, we know this every year, but just betting under on player props is usually the road home because they're always skewed because everybody likes going over and I would love to see an experiment. House, maybe you're the one who should do it. Just somebody betting 25 player unders. I feel like you would go like 15 and ten. Nobody wants to do it. It's like in America and just be like, I am rooting for failure, but I'm willing to do it. Can I borrow some money? All right. We'll talk after. What's your next player prop sharp? Okay, the next one is another under. I do have one over, but this one's another under. And this is breece hall rushing yards under 8 30 and a half. Look, it's Ben bent down, but it's been at 8 30 for like three weeks now. And I do not like what I see out of breece hall. He's averaging -.37 EPA per rushing attempt. He gained in the preseason. 2.1 yards per carry. He's getting hit behind the line of scrimmage far 12th and he takes too long to get going. And I think a large part of like the high expectations for hall was that the thought that they drafted him, what like 35th overall something like that, 36th overall. He was going to come in and be like the de facto number one guy for this team. But that's not even the case. They've got multiple backs there. Breece hall is not going to be the starter. And I just think it's going to be very difficult for him to get close to 830 rushing yards. I think on fando at one point, he might have been number two in offensive rookie of the year. And now he's dropped. He's 5th. I really, I'm so impressed with pierce on Houston. And I watched the preseason that first drive, but I've also been following. I've been a psycho with preparations here. He just has it. You can tell from the stores and stuff, like the coach, say he just gave him the starting job in the first week. He was like, this guy's gonna be our starting running back. All the stories from camp are like, this guy's incredible. He's 16 to one for rookie of the year house. That's fine. I'm in it. I have already spent money. I watched George pickens play one quarter of football and immediately jumped into that market. He's 9 to one. Yeah, that jumped. He is what a beautiful athlete. Holy cow, knock my socks off. So I had to get in on a little George pickens, but goddamn Pittsburgh. Every fucking time. This is 20 years of them just pulling out wide receivers of the second. That may not happen in the future, but yeah, they are Kevin Colbert was just so good at identifying herself. Nobody has ever been better at a random skill than Pittsburgh grabbing receivers. What's your fourth prop shark? My fourth prop real quick though, you said you've been a psycho with your preparation. I want to know how did consuming my 564 page book go for you on your iPad, not printed? Did you get through it in electronic format? Way better on the iPad. House and I are old and we don't read books anymore. I read on my electronic devices. To me, the book, the schedule rest stuff is the most important stuff. That has actually really changed the way that I prepare for the season. I've factored that. I have a separate graphic. I'll get this over to you. I did every single team in every single week and what the rest edge that is that week. So you can use it as a converter to be on that. That rest edge thing is just like unassailably effective year after year. There's no question. Here's one thing. Here's one thing I was going to do though because I want the listeners that your pod to be able to get a chance to look at the book, but there's no way they're going to be able to get through that thing in a much time because the season starts really soon. So I was going to give it to them for just $1. That way they're not wasting their money. If you go to the streets, if you go to sharp football analysis and enter code, let's say, Bill, I haven't done it yet. To be able to code BS. Okay, the code will be BS, just type in BS and you get it for a dollar. That way you don't feel bad that you got it so close to the season and you wasted $30 or whatever. Yeah, skim it. Take a couple of bathtubs with it. Bring in the tub. Just put your reading glasses on and zoom through it, like house does. You sure you can't make the code Mac Jones sucks. Are you sure you do that? That's not going to be the code. Yes, you missed, you missed. We shorted the Pats at the top. Oh, wow. All right. Bill was very objective about it, too. That was very past those. I am objective on my teams when it's warranted. And in this case, this patriots are not going to be good this year. Unfortunately, Kyle is just going to, I know it's killing him, but there's just not a huge case. Hopefully he's going to be keeping the stuff on me if the Patriots end up being good. He's definitely not going to stop hearing it for me. I would love for them to surprise us. What's your fourth prop show? Let me go to the last one. The last the tenth of ten, the fourth player prop, and this is an over. So we get a little bit of optimism cortland Sutton receiving yards over 900 and a half. I looked at this, sir. And here's my logic on this. I bet this as soon as they lost Tim Patrick. And when I look at drew lock and drew lock out of 33 quarterbacks the last two years, he ranked 33rd inaccuracy 33rd in completion rate, 32 in success rate, 30 and EPA basically like bottom 5 in every other statistical category. So I'm not going to share the rest of them. We know that Russell Wilson tailed off some in his career. However, before he heard his finger, I don't think people realize he was the number one quarterback in the NFL in yards per attempt last year before he heard his finger of the mallet finger on his throwing hand. Number one in EPA per attempt. Number one in completion rate, number one in passer rating. Number three most touchdown passes. Now you look at what has Russell Wilson's receivers done in Seattle. The last two years, his top two receivers cleared this with ease.

"Brandon and ayuk has been getting glowing reviews in camp. They've got deebo. They've got kittle. They got a bunch of backs. I just love mobile quarterbacks. And you don't need to be the most accurate quarterback from a fantasy perspective. If you can run with the ball to be a starter, you remember Tim Tebow? I mean, that dude would throw passes that looked like they were shot in midair. And he was a viable fantasy starter because of what he could do with his feet. And that's why I love Lance this year. I think he could be this year's Jalen hurts. Interesting. As for George pickens, listen, I mean, there's questions about the Steelers offense because there's no more Big Ben. Trubisky is, well, trubisky, Kenny pickets, a rookie. You've got Deontay Johnson in the mix there as well. Chase claypool's in the mix. But I could see pickens, maybe jumping and in fact, I've got pickens and claypool really close in terms of wide receiver rankings right now. Claypool potentially is a guy that utilized in the slot and they'll have pickens and DJ on the outside there. But I do like the talent, I don't know that pickens is gonna come out light the world on fire like Jamar chase. I don't think there's that wide receiver in The Rookie class. Okay. I don't think there's like that Justin Jefferson or Jamar chase. I mean, listen, a lot of talented guys, you know, Drake London, quarterback situation is a little bit questionable there in Atlanta, and that's putting it lightly. Same thing with the jets with Garrett Wilson. I like Elijah Moore a heck of a lot more than I like Wilson, this upcoming season. But I do think people tend to get a little nuts, like the Isaiah pachenko. Oh, goodness. Yeah. He's insane. And okay. You want to pay attention to what's going on in the preseason, but I mean, you also got to take it with a little bit of a grant saw. Jeez Louise. Like, yeah. Maybe Ronald Jones doesn't make the roster and Pacheco is in the mix in a three headed backfield, but injuries would have to occur for him to get a chance to really make an impact. So yeah, I mean, you're obviously paying attention to these players. Look at what Isaiah likely did. Jewish. Doesn't mean I'm drafting him. Right, right? How much 12 has Roman run? I mean, maybe it's just because he didn't have the personnel, but I don't know that he's going to make a massive impact. A lot of rookie tight ends do not.

"For a solid chunk of his of his senior season high school, he was the number one recruit in his class. Yeah. And Jack Jones sound I don't think he was number one, but again, it's the same thing where he's a 5 star recruit and obviously that potential wasn't recognized USC in the Arizona state, but the Patriots see that and say, well, there's something here. There's clearly something here. Can we tap into maybe what that detour, the year off juco, that might have put him off the track? Can we put him back on the track? I think that's the thought process here. Again, and I feel this way with a lot of the picks. They made throughout the three days. The NFL drafts about adding good players. They added good players. The questions for me are more about the guys they did not, you know, somebody at the chat brought up collusion here. I look at this point in the draft, whether it's Jalen or morte Davis, whether it's McCollum, whether it's Tariq woolen, right? To me, it's about, you know, there's going to be this draft is the potential to have a lot of revisionist history. I think Jack Jones can play. It's just did they take, I think they took a guy, it's just that they take the right guy. Yeah, we're going to be playing that game, I think, with this draft, like you said, for pretty much every pick that they made. I would say with Cole strange is not necessarily comparing him to players at his position. It's just comparing him to players that went in there and hit daxton hill is going to be the one. Right, daxton hill went after him, quay walker went to pick after the Patriots original Duffy went with the pick the Patriots traded to Kansas City. Kair elam went to buffalo a few picks after quay walker. So those are going to be the guys that you're going to say, okay, well, you had in this ten pick range. We had all this defensive talent and we took the guard. It's not so much about Cole strange. It's not so much even about the guard position. It's just really more about who they could have taken. With taekwon Thornton in the second round, sky Moore, George pickens Alec pierce. They all went in that ten to 15 pick range. So we'll see. For better or worse, that's what these guys are up against. They're up against comparing the guys that at their position specifically in most cases, the guys that went around them and the guys that were clustered around them on the board. All right, let's move on to the running back that the Patriots selected in the fourth round, one 27 Pierre strong from South Dakota state..

"I don't think the gap is going to be in the fourth. Fair enough. You also wonder how much ultimately who are they targeting because at this point, your guess is as good as anybody's, right? Who the heck knows? So get me John matchy and Troy Anderson. If they do that today. I think they might be able to stay at 54 and get matchy. It's a weird draft, so I'm not a 100% sold on anything. So here's why I think that. Yeah, because Jameson Williams fell. Clearly, teams are a little more concerned about the ACL than maybe we thought. Now, met she's ahead of the process. Yeah. I'm just going to give you according to reports. So right. And I don't know who's saying I said they wouldn't take matching on Bertrand. I said that he would be the checks every box, assuming his knee is fine. I think there is a chance that she falls just based off Jameson Williams falling in them being in similar situations. Then again, Johan Dawson went, where did John Dawson went high? 16. So the receivers are kind of pushing up. I was actually thinking maybe leading in the treylon Burks would fall out of the first round that obviously didn't happen. It's going to be a flavor thing. Do teams want the team sitting on the board if they want to slot, it's sky more than probably matchy. If you have a bunch of teams to run outside receivers, mention probably is a little more time because you have a Christian Watson. You have George pickens. Alex. I don't even know where David bell is projected anymore. Former projected Tommy. 15 pick David bell. Is he down to day three? Yeah. I'll give you credit. You were on that one. You watched him, you texted me. You were like, what? Yeah. Never saw any sort of place for you with David bell. Like I never thought he was fast and how many random people have pencil limited 54, Evan. Oh my goodness. Don't do that to me, all right? So if they're going to move up in the third round or second round, excuse me tonight, and target a player, it does feel like it's gotta be on defense, right? I just want the wide receiver as much as anybody else does. But at this point, I really do think that they would dig defense with that pick. If they're going to stick with the senior bowl small school guys, like Troy Anderson's right there, right? Cole strange, like it's a similar Troy Anderson or even Zion McCollum, who's also an FCS guy..

Patriots Beat

"He is a hard hitting player, but for the most part he's a finesse guy. He is not somebody that is going to take out the trash as Dante Hightower used to say and do the dirty work and take on blocks. He is an athlete that wants to be free to roam and free to make contact and be a heat seeking missile. And I think a lot of times when you look at that, you say, oh, well, that's exactly what they need. It is if they have a true mic that can be the guy that's going to be the sledgehammer. If they can have Devin Lloyd B, the weak side back or who is the chaser, then they can have a guy like that, but they still need that mic player. So when I look at it, I say, okay, I think quay walker, I think Christian Harris, for example, from Alabama. I think Chad Momo from Wyoming, those guys to me are not that much worse than Devin Lloyd, is the prospect compared to, let's say, Chris a lave to a sky more George pickens, those types of players. That to me is a more substantial drop off, which is why you think from a lava from a lava down to pickens is a substantial drop. I think from a lava to the guys that they could get with their second round pick at wide receiver. We're talking about a significant drop. The other thing that I would point out is the two Alabama guys are both coming off ACLs and not only am I concerned about the fact that they could re injure themselves at the NFL level because once you blow a knee out, it's very, very easy to re injure your ACL. Even the other one could go, right? Because you're overcompensating on the other leg. So re injury is a major concern. The other thing that I would say is a major concern is you're talking about a guy like Jameson Williams or John meche, maybe getting on the field again at full speed in August, September, maybe October of next year. So as much as I love the familiarity for a guy like John metchie with Mac Jones, I would be concerned about the fact that that player is basically lost for his rookie season because we know how the Patriots operate. We saw it with Nikhil Harry. We're talking about projecting that guy. And at the top of the draft this year for the Patriots, I don't think that they have the I don't think they have the flexibility.

"And David bell's steady in every single way, but he's not good. He's not elite at any one thing besides maybe the ability to go up and make some good catches in contested situations. So basically, he's a good complimentary piece. He's a good secondary option. Good teams need. I just talked about that with the cheese, but the Patriots need to play maker. Then give me George pickens. Yeah, I'm a George pickens guy right now. Now, I still love the idea of John mechie with Mac Jones. I know that it would probably have to wait a year, but nowadays with ACL rehab and surgeries and the way that they're able to get these guys so quickly back on the field and the fact that pretty much everybody that has an ACL comes back in is fine now. There's not a whole lot of guys that pull a Dante culpeper, right? That are just never the same dude anymore. That just doesn't happen anymore. So I just love the idea and I think it's so you know such an easy comparison and maybe it's a lazy, but I can't help but look at what borough is doing with Chase and be like, if you put Mac with Maggie in a guy that he's thrown to, you know, how many times between practice and in games that Alabama and I know that behind the scenes those guys work together a lot because mechie wasn't starting initially, right? Just like Mac wasn't starting. So when they go to on twos on twos and stuff like that and they run basic off to the side Mac and met you was a connection then as well when he was behind rugs and Judy and all these other guys there at Alabama. I just love the idea of pairing him with a guy he's familiar with because I think that that eliminates so much of the chemistry that needs to be built between quarterback and receiver. So let me ask you this. Why met you over Williams? Because I would say if we're going to go down that road, I take James and Williams. Well, how much did Mac play with Jameson? I don't think much, right? As much the same year. Okay. He wasn't starting either because they were all they were behind Robert. Jameson was at Ohio State, right? So I don't remember jamison Williams playing much with Mac, but maybe my memory is incorrect there. Because last year, they played so much with Smith waddle, metchie was like their top three, right? So maybe jamison mixed it. Oh, I thought Jameson Williams had another year there. I just still think Jameson was better. But again,.
