"Wow. You know, I will say Trey was, he was back, you know, over The Rookie. And who knows? I don't know what our quarterback room looks like right now. I know that I'm driving into an airport. Nice Minneapolis airport looks really nice right now. What about this one? Did you move into row 19 in support of deebo? Did you do that? Wow. That was actually, dude, you're on one. Who writes these for you? By the way, those were those were two items. I just try to put in the overhead with you, right? It's very proud of the 19 first morning, George, before the show. Yeah, you probably thought of that one. Yeah, who gave you that one? You're incredible. No, like I said, it was the only seat available. So I just kind of clicked on it and 19 D for 19 Devo. Wow. I hope he gets all of his money. That man deserves it. Yeah, I know. I agree with you. So all right, so you're going to the airport now, are we big chair on the way home? We got that. Yeah, no. We're fine. I'm flying first class. California. Fantastic. Okay. Yeah, yeah, no. It's also, yeah, it's very nice to be able to do that. I'm very happy that I'm able to do that now because the amount of take them not even an exit road. Of course, being 6 four is not the most fun. Of course not. And then you went out, you went out to Minnesota, right? I saw on your IG, right? You went out, you dropped a puck, did you drop a puck? Somewhere? I did drop a pug. You know, it was funny, so it's called the beauty league because there are a bunch of buttes out there and it's a summer league for all the NHL college players that live in Minnesota, the Minneapolis area during the off season. And they're like, hey, they tried to get me on skates. I was like, I think John lynch would kill. I try to do that right now. So I'm not gonna do that one. But no, I gotta drop the talk. And they actually, you know, they didn't even let me drop it like ceremonially, like a ceremony thing where they get out of the ring. They literally have you dropped the puck and game started as I dropped the pocket. Wow. Nothing. Nothing ceremonial. You literally started a competition with it. I did. It's fun too. It's two 20 minute periods. It's four on four. It's an absolute riot. I had an absolute blast out there. Did you see the way who dropped the puck? Did you see that video? At some point. I did, he threw it. He showed up. I never dropped the puck either. And they were like, hey, come drop the puck. And I asked, I said, how do you drop the puck? Like, just give me a quick coaching tip. Okay. I'm good now. Let's do it. Yeah, you kind of hold it out. Like you're timing a 40 with a stopwatch, right? And then you take it, and you throw it down. But Micah just went out and just kind of dropped he flipped it like is that it? It's like he was tossing the quarter in like a mall well that you make a wish. That's funny. Yeah, Micah, he just there's a lot of torque in there you still learn how to use. He's got a lot of amen. George, thanks for the time. Thanks to content yesterday. I'm not going to lie. That was great. And so you had to training camp next week. So is this your last travel before training camp? That's it? Yes, it is. Okay. And now I'm heading out a little bit early to go hang out with my QBs and go see if I just go hang out in the California sun, get used to the heat a little bit. Oh yeah, so how was it just if you got another minute? How was Lance at the tight end university? That was the last time we spoke that he was going to come out there with you guys. I know what my guy Trey personally couldn't make it. Oh, okay. All right. I told him I'm going to have to give him a hard time about that for the foreseeable future until he throws me a touchdown pass. So that'll be week one. And I'll be week one. I look forward to that. Look at you speaking things into existence. That's what I do for a living. I love the 9% listening. I didn't say that he did. That's what I do for a living, George. I do that for a living. You really do. You're one of a kind rich. All right, safe flight. Hopefully somebody behind you is only 6 four and below. And I'm going to go four recline for this. I'll be asleep here in about one hour today. Take care of yourself, George kittle, you're the best. The fellow, thank you for having me on. Ladies and gentlemen. Ladies and gentlemen, George kittle. George kittle, passenger extraordinaire. Could you imagine somebody gets into an elbow shoving match over an armrest with George kittle? To the point to the point where George feels compelled to match eyes with you? I mean, George, he's not George is not one of those. I got a match eyes with you. All right, so you have the whole thing. Why do I feel like you couldn't put something underneath your seat in an exit row? Sometimes.

"Said if something happened to him, he'd have Jay buhner raise his kids. And then led to one of the greatest moments in sitcom history. What the hell did you trade JP in a four? Yeah, funny home runs number 100. Last year. He's got a rocket for an arm. You don't know what the hell you're doing. Oh, you know what's a good prospect? No question about it, but my baseball people love can Phelps bet. They kept saying Ken Phelps, ten pals. Larry David is George Steinbrenner. To talk about the passing of their friend of their son, George. Frank Costanza sitting next to Estelle and you can see as Estelle was walking through things, what happened to George with George Steinbrenner? Santa, Jerry steller playing Frank Costanza stewing on the couch. You just watch him fidgeting on the couch and he finally bursts out what the hell did you trade Jake uniform? I remember exactly where I was. I was in the living room of my apartment and reading California where I was getting my first TV chops amazing. And I remember falling off the couch laughing hysterically. I remember because we hated that trade. People did that trade. Steinbrenner's defense can top instead of a good bat in three full seasons with Seattle. Now I know 24 24 27 home runs. No. What do you do for the Yankees? What do you do for the Yankees? He was bad. What do you do for the Yankees? Go for it. What do you got for me? Ten bombs and 88. And then 7 bombs in an 89. Awful. Everybody knew that Jay buhner was special and Seattle fans enjoyed the fruits of his labor for a very long time. Very long time. Jay buhner 310 career home run. One of the best moments in Seinfeld history. Hi Larry is and it was on this date in 1988 that the uni for Kent Phelps trade. My baseball people said it felt straight, went down. Back here on the rich eisen show 8 four four two O four rich number to dial. Yesterday's program because I follow this man on Twitter. Because everything he does is amazing. I love him. I don't care who knows it. He tweeted out. He's on a flight and somebody in his guy next to me in the exit row put two bags in the overhead thoughts on this. I gave my thoughts on this, wound up with a blogger, calling me a jerk. Somebody who blogs on it on airplane travel and etiquette call me a jerk. So I figured, let's get him on the phone. And he joins us on the Mercedes Benz van's phone line right now. The one and only. The Pro Bowl individual all pro individual, as well as tight end of the San Francisco forty-niners, George kittle here on the rich eisen show. What's up, George? My guy. I got a couple things for you real quick. One. Yes, George. You know, it doesn't surprise me you being a Michigan guy and all that's how you treat people on an airplane. Yes. It's very high larious. Yeah, kind of sometimes. Yeah. Hilarious. I've learned a lot about you in the last 24 hours. There's a lot. Mister 19 D, George kittle joining us here on the rich eisen show. Okay, so now walk me through what happened on this plane flight yesterday, Georgia. What happened? Walk me through it. You know, rich, I'm all for being the first on the plane. If it's southwest, I feel like that's way more of a scramble. Like that's kind of elbows, fist fights, you know, you're trying to get to your seat, get the best so you gotta get the exit row. But you know, I'm fine, delta, nice airline, you know? And join myself. You know, I got a business the late plane tickets. So there's no seats available. I was actually, I was in 25 B, which not even an exit row and then an exit row just middle seat popped open. So I switched to it. Okay. Get on the plane and I'm on it first in my row and obviously in the middle seats, I know I'm going to get up at least once and guide little guy right behind me. About 5 6? Pops on and he throws his roller bag and his backpack both in the overhead compartment. And sits down right next to me and this guy, he's probably a great guy. He didn't talk to me. He slept the whole way, bless his heart, gave me all the space I needed. So he had a great travel companion, but his feet don't even go out underneath the seat. In front of them. So my thought is, why would you not just put your backpack down there? So then someone next to you can use overhead compartment. It's not like he had two roller bags or anything like that. Like I understand that. But he had a small background that could have sit underneath them. So I was just curious what the world's flying etiquette was. Like I said, I learned a lot about you yesterday. So what was your, what did your crowd source glean? On that subject matter. What did you crouch? What did the crowd say when your crowdsourcing it? I would say about 5% of them went with you. They said it's a free for all. And then about 90% of the other 5% was I think 15% was asking questions. Like, oh, well, maybe it was his

"It just doesn't, it doesn't resonate. It doesn't work. It becomes a pox on everybody's house. You know? Certainly you make 17 million. Already. I had ever amazing. According to bob nightingale, 20 minutes ago, the Nats have begun fielding preliminary offers for Juan Soto. 17s in the mix. Seattle. Oh, they have the names? They have the teams, yeah. Yankees? One of them? Yankees, Dodgers, Dodgers, Red Sox? No. I don't want to give up the young guys. You said Seattle's in, huh? Seattle. Okay. San Diego? Slam Diego. San Francisco Giants, Saint Louis Cardinals, and the New York metropolitan. Sandy alderson is the wags. Wags. They're ready. Without the pole. I don't think he parties like wax. Okay. 7 teams in the mix. All right, here we go. Three NL west. Wow. Here we go. So one of those teams is going to be the ones winding up with Juan Soto in two weeks. They're so maybe, you know? Wow. Price if the price is right? Red Sox aren't and you got a problem with that. What do we give up? I don't think we have the only thing we have enough to get to get them. So that you've got to be in it to win it. I would much rather resign. Xander and Raphael Devers. Did you see the story out of The Boston Globe? No, you had mentioned this. What happened? It made me upset. Well, I mean, Devers confirmed it, that the initial conversations between the two sides, the Red Sox offered a comp. For him. In their estimation, and it was Matt Olson. And I read that he's a terrific player. He is a good player. He said you mean? The guy made Olson. Yeah. What, a $180 million contract that the braves bestowed upon him after they parted ways or they stopped negotiating with Freddie Freeman or vice versa. I don't want to get sued. I want to get in the middle of all that. For one 68. One 68. Come on now. That's exactly right. If I'm Rafael Devers, I'm like, look, he is a very good baseball player. And his market value is, I mean, you know, it's a heck of a contract, but that is way low, way lower than what I'm thinking about. And the whole idea, though, is that if Devers hits free agency, the industry sense is that his contract would begin with a two. Right. Like 200 million in change. Yeah, like 7 for 200. So maybe not the three that he's looking for, but it would definitely start with a two, not the one that Matt Olson's contract starts with. And I read that and I'm like, uh oh. There's only 25. I mean, and but the sense is that he won't finish most of his contract playing third. That's why they're competent with Matt Olson. DH first. Yeah. Like he'd take a more poppy rolling things. Probably smarter, long-term. Which is why they were setting his value at that. Careful, you not allowed a curse. I know. Don't give me this Red Sox ownership is just so frustrating. So so many levels. They may get it done yet. With Devers, still time. May I guess. But I read that. Oh man, I don't want to either one to go. Two or three, but I want to get in on Soto, no? I guess not. If you're not paying bets that money and you're competent, then I guess they have a philosophy that they will pay, but they're not going to go on these companies, these 7 ten, 12 years old contracts. Yeah, they're not going to go three, four, 500 million. They're not in that game. They prove that with bets? Yeah, they're not in the 12 year, 350. They're not in that game. The Red Sox are not in that game. Which thinks, because they have lots and lots of money. Is that your professional sense? Like lots of it. They own Liverpool, the soccer club. Like, what are we doing? I know that. Among other others. They just bought the penguins. Like, what is happening? Do you have some baseball music for me? Do you have to the other day? Oh no, I can't play that. You couldn't play that DNA. I could flag. I got in trouble. You got flagged. I got in trouble. Okay. All right. You've got with the second half of the season beginning. So we have some what's more likely baseball. Baseball, what's more likely? For the rest of the world. All right, let's hit it. We'll do that. And then we'll get to George kittle. Have a nice fun conversation with George. Go for it. All right, let's start with hold on. We got a hold. We got a whole lot. More likely. Never say never, but never.

"On in the summer, I want your impressions, but it's been 20 years since I've experienced one. So that'll be later on in this program. George kittle is going to join us about 20 minutes time as he's making his way to the airport back home. I guess after flying out wherever he went and creating a big kerfuffle because I created the kerfuffle. He's the one who tweeted out about somebody in an exit row putting multiple items in the overhead bin. And how that's a terrible thing. And I said, hey, you know, first come first serve and apparently I'm a jerk for that. And so there you have it. George is about to join us on this program. Which have always say stuff like that is the appeal of this show, right? Because everyone can be interested in sports all the time. My mom, for instance. But when you talk about stuff like this, the non sports stuff that we get into. That stuff that everyone, you know, you can relate to this. Not everyone can relate to, you know, Tom Brady or LeBron, but yeah, this airplane stuff. This is what brings the people together. I'll accept that. Thank you. And say how do you say how to moms? Hi, moms. Hi, moms. So the second half of the baseball season has begun. I guess everyone's played half their season already, but the all star breaks over. And Jose Altuve and the Astros are already wearing out Jordan Montgomery and the Yankees. That's what happens. Double header going down in Houston today, Houston's already up two zero on Jordan Montgomery in the Yankees. These are big games because the Astros are the ones who are as close to the Yankees as anybody else are just four behind the New York Yankees entering the second half of the season, and I will speak for everyone. In the New York Yankee fandom and organization, nobody wants to go to Houston and spend a game 6 and 7 there. At all. Rather it be in the other direction. So these games are big. It's a big double header today to start things off for Houston and the Yankees at two best teams. Clearly in the American League. Tonight, the Giants and the doctors will have a renewal of acquaintances there. To kick off the second half of the season. In Major League Baseball. I can't think of a more out of touch story. I can't think of something that you just mentioned moments ago about relating how people can relate, I can't think of a more out of touch story than. Scott Boris agent of Juan Soto, who's just turned down a $440 million contract offer from the Houston up from the Washington Nationals. And again, Scott has said that there's a lot of smoke and mirrors about all that, whatever. I don't know, I didn't read the fine print in it. But him saying, essentially, that Juan Soto had to fly commercial, that the nationals didn't send him private aircraft, didn't charter a plane for him to get to the all star home run Derby. I can't think of something that fans would probably say, oh, anything other than get out of here. With that stuff. We all know, and I guess that's what we've reached the point in the 21st century. Where the court of public opinion, which is what always happens when a player needs to be re signed with an organization and a city that's fallen in love with them. Right? Again, I have this piece of paper on my desk since February 28th that has now just today on July 21st become a relic. It's over. The Kyler Murray agent missive of February 28th on Kyler Murray stationary saying what gives Arizona Cardinals in a letter written to the fans. To basically win the battle of public opinion in an impending contract fight. Now the court of public opinion is trying to be swayed by an agent saying how the temerity how dare this baseball organization not fly my client private to the all star home run Derby. For which he would swing the bat for three hours and win $1 million. Which I can tell you. Would cover the flight multiple times. Right. You don't bet on yourself. Or he's got he makes $17 million this year. Scratch the check? Then fly yourself. If you're dying to fly private. Right, if you can afford it. If you can't, you know, take your TSA pre check, Claire, situation. Why don't you find this weird thing? Where every other team does it? So, I mean, if the Astros do it, you know, multiple players in the game. Yeah, you know what I mean? But if one team does it, great, then they will be able to use that in free agency saying, why don't you come here? Come here and we'll take care of you. We fly our guys private. I mean, yeah, it's a bad look for the right after he says no to their contract. And then it's like, okay, cool. Now get your celebrity. It is optics. If you want to go there now, you're going to be like, these are things that I think players will take into consideration. So on Soto and seat 19 D like we said yesterday he didn't. He didn't swing the bat like he was in 1980. That was the last second flight. I doubt he got first. I could not think about a more tone deaf way to try and win the battle of public opinion. Hey, that's fans. Who watched Bryce Harper leave in division? Hey, Nat's fans. When my guy signed somewhere else, don't blame my guy. He had a fly commercial. Come on, man.

"It's smart to do an extension now, or perhaps wait, the pros of doing it now is you get something done when the quarterback market could explode next year when guys like Joe burrow and Justin Herbert are amongst the players eligible for an extension, so chef has there been any talks between the Broncos and Russell Wilson about an extension because he's currently only under contract for two more years. We'll feel that I think when the Denver Broncos make this deal, they do so knowing that at some point in time sooner rather than later they'll probably have to extend Russell Wilson. Now there's a change in ownership there in Denver where they're waiting for the Walmart family to be approved here and obviously to move forward there. But if you look at Russell Wilson's contract right now, it's already out of date. He's got two years and $41 million left on that contract to make $19 million this year. And so Denver knows it has a big bargain. It knows that it invested an awful lot and Russell Wilson and we talked earlier in the show about a potential timeline via George kittle for deebo Samuel. And I would think that it would be something similar with Russell Wilson here. Some point before the start of the season, it wouldn't be a surprise if these two sides were able to come together to figure out an extension, but I would think that that would be something that both sides would want to make happen. And as we know, the price tag for quarterbacks could creep up to north of $50 million per year as soon as next off season, maybe even this off season. I realized if you can have special outcomes that you got to be comfortable being uncomfortable. Man, I had an opportunity to get a quality dude that is a more than capable coach. One of my sayings I got a lot of sentence is dope sick dope seek comfort. You better be willing to do unique things in order to expect unique results, like McDonald's, right? You know what the number one is. The number one is the number one, and that's what I want Pittsburgh to the football to be. When you watch somebody do something at a certain level for so long, it messes up your perceptions of what's regular and what's not. I don't run away from coaching. I run two coaches. Yo, would it be great? I need to be with what this 2022 team needs me to be. The standard is the standard. Gosh, such a good interview. RC, what was your takeaway from sitting down with coach Tomlin? One, that's who I've always known him to be. The thing I was happiest about is that the world got kind of an opportunity to know a little bit about how smart he is, how much he understands leadership, how much he understands people. My biggest takeaway was that he's actually excited about 2022. And listen, not every team is built to win a championship. And when you lose someone like Ben Roethlisberger, you would think some fear creeps up in your mind that you're doing it for the first time without your future Hall of Fame quarterback, but the excitement in his eyes and in his voice when he said, you know what? This is a new team. And I have to be whatever I have to be for this team to win. And running into the coaching that it's going to take for the 2022 Pittsburgh Steelers to be successful, that made me excited for this team. Whereas I was like, oh, it's going to be different without being, where would they find offense? How would they be good? Where is the leadership? I see now. He feels the leadership is in that locker room, and he's ready to coach these men to be different this year. The RC, I'm sitting here thinking when I'm watching the interview, obviously phenomenal head coach, record speaks for itself. Super Bowl winner. I'm sitting here thinking to myself, this guy could be like the commissioner of the NFL one day with the way that he just has this presence about him that is simply it's magnetic. And he is a leader that much is for sure. Mike Tomlin also shared some insights on second year running back najee Harris in the integral role of leadership that he can play for this franchise going forward. Let's take a listen on this one. That dude, the bell cow. He gonna have to be a bell cow for us. If this train going anywhere in 2022, he could be a major component of it in his capable. I ain't even talking about it from a talent standpoint. We know that. I'm talking about he's capable from an intangible standpoint. Bringing the best out in his teammates, wearing a responsibility that comes with leading. He just young. And so it's been a fun project. So RC, how much does the passing of the leadership torch to naji mean in your mind? That means it's on. It means a ton forward to be said publicly in that way. He's not only talking to us and speaking to the pivot. He's speaking to the world. He's speaking to the Pittsburgh Steelers that he's anointing this guy because he's capable because he has the stuff that it takes to lead to put the team first to put teammates first. I mean, you can go back to his draft day and having his draft party at a homeless shelter because he was once homeless himself. This is a guy who gets it. We saw the talent on the field. Last year, this year we'll get an opportunity to see how his leadership affects the locker room and affects the team. Niko, he was great last year in the conversation for offensive rookie of the year. But how important is nausea to the success of this dealer's offense, which again, first time starting a new quarterback in seemingly forever? Yeah, he's going to be a huge piece. And when you have a running back that's that physical that can really carry the load of the team and especially with a young quarterback, we don't know who the starting quarterback is going to be week one. So him being able to come in, be consistent, be that leader. You can be a young leader. You can be a second year guy and be a captain, a leader of men just by going out there, day in and day out and consistently doing things the right way. He's the guy that can do that. So again, I think he's going to have a huge year, and he's going to have to for this dealer team to go where they want to go. Listen, Nico is exactly right. When you look at when the Pittsburgh Steelers are their best, they lead with their run in and they can push the football down the field. Now you're going to have a quarterback that's mobile. You're going to have a team that can do some different things offensively, but they're going to have to stop the run D on defense and run the football offensively. And that starts with naji Harris. I think the guy is a star. He's going to be a bill call for years to come there, but it's going to be extremely vital, especially early that naji shows that he can carry this team on his back, which would allow Mitchell trubisky or Kenny Pickett to make the plays in critical football moments, not necessarily have to go out and win games offensively as they come along and get adjusted to be in the Pittsburgh Steelers new starting quarterback. You know, RC, the fact that it was a second year player that Mike Tomlin was semi anointing as the next leader to me was notable. But I thought about it a little bit deeper. This is also a player who plays running back. We have gotten to this point in the NFL where we just say turning and Burnham, right? Running back one for a year, two or three, and then we move on to the next. Draft someone who's younger and cheaper with less tread on the tires. What do you think it says about nausea is a human that Mike Tomlin is anointing a guy who again at the most fungible position in the sport right now is becoming the leader of this offense. Yeah, well, first of all, you got to think about naji Harris coming out of high school was the number one player or number one running back in the country and having to wait his turn at Alabama. This wasn't a guy that was thrust into stardom as soon as he walked on the field or got to the school and he didn't transfer. He didn't look to go somewhere else. He waited his turn and then he had his opportunity to shine. A guy who comes on a team the next year with Big Ben Roethlisberger and ingratiates himself so much in that locker room as a team player, but also as a guy that understood and had the stuff to relate to not only the veterans, but the young guy and for coach Tomlin to recognize that means it was on a thousand each and every day with his personality with his work with his morals and with his football character. That's what's mostly important to me to this team and why he was anointed as the next leader of this offense. Only I got to say is, I can't stand you, RC. You're a star in NFL live, then you go on the pivot, you're a star there. Can you share a little bit with the rest of us? My friend, come on, now we're just trying to make an honest living over here in Bristol. You guys.

That's a hot take, but just take a look at the roster as it's constructed, rich no one's ever won a game in May, okay, let's see what it looks like when we hit the field. He doesn't know what he's talking about. Well, that I do know. No one's ever wanted to share it. That was an Aryans Biden, wasn't it? No, that was a smile. You sure? Yeah, I watched. You know what he's talking about? Okay. Let's take a break. Put up a poll, go for it. Do it at rich eisen show. Do it. I encourage you, highly. Let's see what the people think. The people that you blocked left and right. I don't block I mute. He said, by the way, good for you. Good for you. Thank you. I don't understand the blocking. Blocking means they can't see your content. I still want them to consume me. I just don't want to steal their response. I'd rather mute you. Mute is so much better. Muted so much. You also don't know that you've been muted. See, that's why blocking is better, 'cause I want to let you know. I don't care. You no longer have access to my content. 'cause I don't want to hear what you have to say. I'm mucin. Exactly. Here's the poll, which team the NFC most likely misses the playoffs this year. Cowboys cardinals, eagles 49. Every single time the cowboys are put in a poll question he says, because it's anti cowboy. But then there's all the pot, all the zombies, all the cowboy zombies. Who take your tickets? "To get out of there. He can't be there. Did you ever get to see a little bit? George. Overall, just really, really pleased with how the rhone went nice to start understanding that vibe. So I mean, I understand it. If diva wants to play for the 90s will play for the niners if he doesn't, I wish him the best of luck wherever he goes. Diva is a hell of a football player. He's a great human being. So it's whatever he wants to do. He's not he's not angry and anybody here on the team. We're not distracted by anything that he's doing. That's his and says we'd love to have him back and if he doesn't want to, we'll support him wherever he wants to go. So and it's not really too much of an issue for us, but like I said, people's a hell of a football player. Obviously, we'd love to have him. All right. And while you're being my information man, how's your boy big Bobby Tonya? Is he going to be a TEU presented by charmin? We're going to see him. How's he doing? Bobby T will be there. Of course. He's looking forward to it as well. Good, he's well. He's doing well, and he's really happy. Yeah, no, he's awesome. I got to do because we live in Nashville, and we both go to the same rehab facilities. Our PT guy Jorge, great guy. But I got to watch this whole rehab process this whole off season and I was very I was very excited to see the progress he made, especially coming off the ACO and ahead of schedule, moving well. So I know he's chomping at the bit to get back out there because I feel like he wasn't allowed to do it. He's capable of doing. And last year's season got cut short and I know he's really excited about it and he's a good mindset. He's ready to be up there. I mean, hey, the Aaron Rodgers was a devonte Adams is just throw the ball to Bobby T and I guess and before I let you go here in terms of tight ends and you and again kittle, you and Kelsey and Greg Olson being at the forefront of this thing and the tight end position becoming more and more prominent and thanks to you having your own week during the season. Where would Greg Olson and it looks like this is going to happen. Calling a Super Bowl rank in terms of the tight end journey. Where would that rank for Craig Olson calling a Super Bowl for Fox, which looks like that's going to happen? I think that's a great thing for tight ends. I think it's also it's showing the personality that Titans have. We're not just out there goofy guys who love to run block and hit guys bounce off guys, score touchdowns and spike the ball. We got some intellectual side to us as well. And you put Greg Olson up there. Every time he's on screen, he's incredibly he's over prepared at all times. He's clever, witty. I mean, that's what you want in a guy and I can't wait to watch, you know, honestly, I can't wait to watch the replay because hopefully I'm the one playing in the Super Bowl. That would be the goal. I love that. With Trey Lance is your quarterback. If need be, if so. Right? Some would say some would say, hey, George, congrats on this, man. I love watching you do your thing and seeing it grow clearly. This is going to happen. Every single year. I'm happy for you and everyone else that does it. You're all good people, man. Thanks for the time. You take care. I appreciate you. You're always my favorite, but don't tell anybody else that, okay? Yeah, I know that. I can't wait to hear you on some other shows and you say the same damn fat Georgia. Yeah, maybe, but probably not. Well, they wouldn't say the word charmin as much as I did. That's for sure. It's like you know what you're doing or something, man. Well, you know what, I'm soft and too ply as well, George. I'm a soft and too ply host of the rich eisen show. That's me, George. You know? I don't know. You seem pretty expensive, not gonna lie. Thank you so much. George Gil everybody here on the rich eisen show. Love that guy. Very perceptive. George kittle. Love him. He's not having Trey Lance throw. If Trey Lance isn't his starting quarterback, Christopher, brockman. And he can be the starting quarterback. All he wants. I have nothing to do. This is what I was getting into. Let's take a break. Let's take a break. Let's take a break before you enrage more 49 fans for you to walk. I got nothing to do with this, man. Let's get into this. And then there's some phone calls before Yannick ngak joins us in.

"Listen to Greg Olsen again, talk about routes, Travis Kelce. He talked about routes. And then we'll do some field work, just some releases, get a nice sweat going, running some routes catching the ball. And who better to throw these footballs rich than some NFL quarterbacks? Oh, who's coming? Who do you got? You know, my number one guy that got confirmed, Trey Lance. Okay. This my guy, Trey Lance had come down. Okay. You know, work on a couple other guys. I don't want to spoil the surprise and guys that haven't a 100% committed yet, but Zach Wilson's a maybe. So maybe we can peer pressure them to confine the confirming that he's going to come. Well, he's got two he's got not one but two new tight ends through free agency and one by draft. He's got to get on the page, man. He's got to be there. Yeah. Absolutely. I assume he's got him. You know, I got my long-term friend CJ bethards coming just because he's from Nashville he'll be there in a potentially Nick Mullins, one of my boys from the niners here, now at the big news. Yeah, but there's a couple other ones we're working on letting them confirm what they need to confirm. But it's going to be quite a show this year. That George kittle here on the outset of the second annual now let's call it that if you can do it every year now like that and it's presented by Sharm and tight end university June 22nd through the 24th year on the rich eisen show. You say Trey Lance is coming to throw. Hey George, you know, this is the narrative that's out there. And as you know, I traffic in narratives. That's what I do here on this program. Is that Trey Lance isn't ready, Jimmy G still on the team is ahead. And he's not going to be the guy, the niners aren't just going to turn the page to him. I disagree. I have an actual 49er who is bringing Trey Lance to his tight end university. I'm asking you, what can you tell everyone about Trey Lance and his readiness to be your week one starter this fall? George. I mean, if that's how it shakes down and Trey Lance is a starter, I'm excited about it. The things that he brings to the table and his athleticism and his rocket can and of an arm. It's going to be really fun. And it all be interesting. I mean, it's going to be a completely different quarterback than Jimmy G, you know, who's great on his drop, he's quick release. Trade is going to be a little bit more exciting. We're in the fact that like he's going to be extending plays a lot longer. We're using his legs to make up some stuff. So I'm looking forward to because it's going to be, I think, I feel like it's going to be a different offense. With Trey at the helm, and it's something I'm looking forward to. And this is the opportunity that comes with that. It's going to be pretty exciting. Well, I mean, I spoke to him just before the Super Bowl on this show, George and I asked him, you know, how much better he can get and what will make him better and he's like reps. He's the simple thing is reps and I could see like he was kind of itching to basically say this is my job and I want it and I should have it and I'm going to have it. He just couldn't say that sort of thing. Obviously. But I felt that from him. I'm wondering, you just ought to read people, don't you? I feel that way. George, I'm a reader, but I'm keep hearing from people calling the show and talking about what he can't be the guy. He's not the guy. If he was the guy you would have shown it last year, so on and so forth. What do you say? I mean, sort of thing. I mean, last year he was a 21 year old rookie. Right. You know, like you said, he just needs a reps. And he's getting those reps right now at OTAs. He's throwing the ball a lot. And once he's comfortable with coach Shanahan's system, because it's a lot going on, it's hard to play quarterback. Like I said, I'm excited to focus because things I do seem practice to throw that he does make how he sends a place just his vision. The only cut I really have left is growing pains or not. It's going to be it's going to be a fun night because of the things. And then someone who can help you for the growing page is someone like yourself and I'm going to go with this. I telegraph my passes. People can take 6 and a half. I stare down my receiver and that receiver's debo. Have you spoken to him? What's going on with him, George? What can you do? You know what I did talk to Devo a couple days ago. And what do you got for me? He was hanging out his newborn baby. Just hanging out with his family, working out. Just between us. All right. No one else. I didn't ask him anything about his contract. You know, I just said, hey, deebo, we love you here. And whatever's going on, wish you the best of luck. And then we talked about other things like shoes and stuff like that because we both love sneakers. Deebo is, I got it. Footwear, I get it. What can you then? All right, then let me ask you this. What can you tell me the narrative? I think it's like you just wanted.

"No, but Jeff, he's the personification of what I think is happening to this sport where everybody throws a hundred miles an hour and everybody strikes out. So what are we doing? He's the king of the three true outcomes. And correct. And. Every team's got one. That's what I'm saying. No, every team's got 5 of them. Right. Baseball turning into that sport. I think that there are going to be elements that are both natural and enforced that right that. And one thing I'm super interested to see come into play. It's not guaranteed yet, but is the pitch clock, because baseball, baseball's criticisms, particularly among the younger generation. It's slow. It's too long. There's a pitch clock in the minor leagues this year, rich. It's 14 seconds when there's nobody on base and 18 or 19 depending on the level when someone is on base. The average game time in the minor leagues is down 25 minutes this year while scoring and hitting our about stagnant and equal and stolen bases are higher because they've limited the number of pick off moves before a pitcher is called for a box. So guys are running a lot more. Getting action back into the game, getting pace back into the game and knowing that you're not going to be going to the ballpark for a three and a half hour nightmare that's going to get you home so far past your kids bedtime. It makes you not want to go. That's a good thing. And as much as I understand the people who say baseball is a game played without a clock. And as a luring as that is a long time baseball fans, to me, the benefits there are enormous and the reality is adapter die. Like that is what we do as human beings and that's what baseball needs to do is westward once for instance. Make sure change the defensive rules. They changed them in their psychology. That's too much that's benefits the offense. There's not enough that benefits the offense in baseball right now. Not even close to it, because the pictures are pretty smartly. Not the ball, not the arms of pictures. And then, you know, before I let you go, Jeff, you're not aware because we're on the wall. I've been holding your hand and staring at you this entire time. And that's my that's the bolino in me. And what? What came of that and what can baseball do? About something like that. That would be beyond a 200 and he stated that he basically said nothing after the game, and then just days later put out a statement talking about how he should umpire like his kids are in a strangely apologized. But still nothing about why he did that. But Madison baumgartner had been chirping at the umpire who was behind the plate that night. And Dan bolino is somebody who likes to stand up for the integrity of umpires because they are quite frankly under attack all the time, like they are. Now that's part of the part of the job, part of the hazard of the job. And they are very nicely compensated and have great lives and jobs because of it, but Madison Bumgarner has a reputation as somebody who speaks back to umpires and bolino took it too far and it was it was wrong and I think he was reprimanded for it, but this constant thing between players and umpires. I was looking that day, rich. At the first instances of umpires being razzed by fans. And the history of umpires is interesting. At first they were looked at as, oh my God, it's wonderful to have them around. They're such paragons of virtue and great character within 5 years umpires were hated. And this was back in the 1870s. So we've been hating on umpires for a 150 years now and nothing has changed. You want to talk about part of the game? Despising umpires is part of baseball that pretty much everyone can agree upon. And it keeps the world turning, right? And then you know what? If you want to stare into my eyes and hold my hand, you can do it anytime you'd like. It doesn't get mad though. That's very well. I appreciate that, Jeff. Now she understands. That sounded like that scene in Forrest Gump, where we looked back generations of lieutenant Dan's family members. One after another after another who passed away in war, and I feel that now it's just like Joe west's great great grandfather was hated on by old Ross had burns kid. Makes me feel.

"And Jimbo Fisher and my friend Dion Sanders and how I think that Nick Saban has taken everything in that's being said right now is yummy rat poison. He's going to really take it out on Texas a and M next October. That's what's more likely. We played a game of what's more likely. Also, what's more likely John Daly making the cut or Tiger Woods? Missing the cut. And John Daly, I'm going to get back out there and this hour and we'll see if he can stand upright. Based on all the heaters and peanut M and M's and diet cokes and rips of the one armed band that he took last night unbelievable. I gotta know how much daily won or lost last night. Got it. I mean, everyone's got to ask. Everyone must ask these questions. PGA Championship going on round number two. We're going to keep an eye on all of that. George kittle is going to call into the program this hour. It's the second annual tight end university that he's up to. Now the Indianapolis Colts will talk with that. Stellar defensive player now switching teams again this time he's trying to get to the promised land in the AFC south now with the Indianapolis Colts back again where he once belonged. As you know, the Jacksonville Jaguars were his first team. So we'll talk with him an hour number three, but right now, you know what we're going to do, we're going to talk a little baseball. Let's do it. I have not spoken to this man in quite some time. That's what happened when there's a lockout. On the Mercedes Benz van's phone line, one of our favorites to talk baseball with and just favorites in general. From the worldwide leader in sports Major League Baseball insider Jeff passen, how are you doing, Jeff? It's what happens when you have lock estimate what it's what happens when Nick Saban and Jimbo Fisher have Trump. That is true. I was a little bit of a food fight in the SEC yesterday that pulling the curtain back. I was supposed to come yesterday, but then that happened and rich called me up. And said, hey, Jeff. You got to understand what's going on. And I was like, you know what? I completely understand because it was utterly ridiculous. And utterly predictable. And utterly wonderful. As much as we love sports for the games, aren't we just ultimately rich? A bunch of people who use that as ourselves operas and lap it up and just enjoy it so much. I know I loved it. Best reality TV. It's just like, you know, it was like, I guess you can't spell succession without SEC. It's basically like, you know, you think about it. It's a Real Housewives of Tesco looser. I appreciate your patience and now being available on this program to talk about the sport that we both love so dearly. What is the story right now? Would you say, overarching story about this baseball season to date, Jeff passon? Well, as someone who works at a company that has occasionally been accused of coastal bias, I feel like saying New York and LA is kind of trite. But I live in Kansas City, rich. So I can actually say it without being accused of having coastal bias. I am a midwesterner born bread and true. And to me, the story of the baseball season is how good the Yankees, the maths, the Dodgers and the angels are and whether we're setting ourselves up for some kind of a coastal World Series or if the Houston Astros or Milwaukee Brewers or somebody else can interrupt that dream. The Yankees have been the best team in baseball this year, hasn't really been closed, frankly. And they've done it because they've been healthy because they remade the left side of their infield and catching. And because they have extremely deep pitching and I think the job Aaron Boone, who's been so maligned, has done is phenomenal. At the same time, buck show Walters really helped turn around the mets. So without Jacob degrom and Max Scherzer for port of two months now, we're going to see what they're really made of. Dodgers are the Dodgers. They're great. They were always going to be great. It's just a matter of, are they going to come through in October? Because they will be there. But the angels are the most surprising team, I think, which is odd to think because they have the two best players in the world in my trout and Shohei Ohtani. So yeah, they should be good, but Major League Baseball is not the MBA where two superstars will get you the conference final. It's not the NFL where you need one quarterback and that will get you into the playoffs. Now, it's a sport where even with two great players. You can still be a middling mediocre team if you don't have other elements. And the elements that the angels have added are pitching in defense. And both of those have held up through about a quarter of the season. The question at this point is we'll hold up over the last three quarters. And Aaron judge the Yankees are also lucky to have him and by that I mean not just about how good he is, but I'm from New York City. I've seen many, many talented players in a Yankee uniform wilt under the pressure of either being paid or in his case not being or being ready to be handsomely enriched and him saying, it's not enough..

"Sprinter van is the van for the job. He is one of the best in the business and I meant what I said when I tweeted out this weekend, watching him play against the Arizona Cardinals that the league's better when he's up and he's active and he's balling out. The man who helped create a national tight end day, the tight end of the San Francisco forty-niners joining us prior to the Monday night are huge one for both teams against the rams the great George kittle. How are you, George? Rich. Wow. Thanks for the intro. I'm excited to be here. How's it going? Well, we threw it. I mean, that's so good. I'm excited back playing football in the last couple of weeks, being out of it tough. But I just felt good to be back out there in front of a great fans and playing with the boys again. We didn't get the dub and it wasn't the game that we wanted to play. So disappointed in that. But I'm optimistic too. We had to play on Monday Night Football and this Allen last year, so I'm very excited. I get an opportunity to play again the only game of the day on Monday Night Football. So very optimistic. Okay. And so what do you lend to the three and 5 star, the reason for it? Is there one? Is there something that you guys are talking about on this front that you want to just throw out there right now? I mean, to me, I think we just need to play better. That's all it is at the end of the day when you look at the tape of every single game that we've lost. And even the games that we've won, I just don't feel like we've played at the level that the standard that we've set, you know, I know we have a couple guys that are playing a consistent on a higher level. I mean, I need to elevate my game. I think, you know, I think everybody can just play a little bit better. You just look at it, whether it's drops. I mean, I had a bad fumble and you got a bad fumble. And said our defense up for failure. So just, hey, you got to eliminate those mistakes against ourselves a chance because we're not even doing that. Coaching hands call him plays, give us opportunities. And we're just not really taking advantage of those things. And so I really just think it's, at the end of the day, we just need to play, but you could say focus on the little things and go back to work. But we haven't worked and I think we've had a lot of really good practices and we've got to get the correlate to the game. And I'm excited about that like I said, you know, Monday Night Football. We have a whole nation looking at you to wonderful time to get the boat on the right direction. Yeah, that's right..

"My longtime Sportscenter friend of known him for over twenty five years He called in on the thirty second anniversary of pete rose signing the document that banned him for life for major league baseball. What a great Stroll down memory lane that was with him Our number one branded staley the head coach of the los angeles chargers Joined us george. Kill about to call into this program. And then also we've got Justin turner of the los angeles dodgers joining us in about nineteen minutes time talking to brandon staley of the chargers and he comes in in a great spot. Because you know it's a beautiful stadium up there and the roster as we talked with him is filled with studs filled with playmakers on the front of the defense. Joey bosa to the defense. Derwin james out wide on offense and keenan allen behind in the running back austin ecuador as an opportunity have very special season after injury sort of tanked his twenty twenty and then of course. There is the quarterback in justin. Herbert who i referred to as unicorn. You had an issue with that. Tj jefferson moments ago because again. I understand it that that to call a unicorn when you've got folks like brady and rogers and breeze and marino and elway. And what have you. I'm just referring to him as a rookie. And how terrific. He wasn't his rookie season last year. And how special. He was last season in the numbers that he put up. Or or or numbers. We've never seen a rookie. Put up in the manner in which he was born into. The league strolling onto the field before week two against the kansas city chiefs because toronto taylor had an errand needle applied to his chest and he was out and then herbert strolls in and the rest is now history and brandon staley strolls in. And he doesn't have to have herbert there in his first year as a starter. He gets them after he's already had that year. And the reason why i bring this up right now is because this is the day in which justin fields it was announced going to start on the bench and dalton to starting week one in los angeles. And just we're not there in the facility to see what fields as grasping or not. We're not there in the huddle to see what field his grasping or not. We're just sitting there at home watching. Nfl network to straight weekends. Watching justin fields. Make terrific plays and look the part and look the role. Look like a kid who can make plays from the position and the last time we've had a chicago bear quarterback who referred to as a playmaker. I don't know when we could say such a thing playmaker right playmate a lot of folks walking around or not alive. So that's a playmaker from that position. And that's who they're looking for they're looking for a playmaker guy can make some place get people on their feet and get people fired up and win some games and the reason why bears fans are not going to buy. Dalton is because of dalton's track record. Yes but they just saw justin herbert now as an example. It's not just what justin herbert did. And that's a very high bar for any rookie to leap atop but herber took his lumps. Herbert learned herbert went through the road. Trips where things don't go. Well he went through the road trips. Where went well. He went through home games where things went well. He went through home games. Would things didn't go well. He went through home and road games. Where the chargers things happened in the last thirty seconds. Yeah all right. Been there done that. All of it and brandon staley walks in and now he's got somebody a lot more fully baked and that's why bears fans want to see fields now. That's why a lot of team fan bases wanna see their rookie. Quarterback's now this jet. Fans and jaguar fans are excited about their quarterbacks. Because they know they're going to see the lumps. Now they're going to go through the lumps now so year to you reap the benefits. That's how brandon staley is walking into his first year as a chargers coach. He's got a more fully. Baked quarterback and there is no question a benefit for all the chargers on the team fans and stands fans root and form that herbert went through all that last year. The sooner you go through all that the faster you can get to where you want to go ultimately that's the concept and that's what matt nagy is going to have to deal with from bears fans or llegado know about this one.

Once again he'd actually written a blog about the dangers of storms. So all my information from that there we go. He's back right. It's bound Our jake your who's back and then we're going to get to george kittle in greg olson. Yes triple plays are back. Oh this yeah. The yankees had a walk off triple play. Today has to be the first time that's ever happened. Show us no. I know i walk off. Defensive play you tell us. I know yes. No i count. I think it's a walk. It's a game winning triple boy. I'll do the research. It's happened before tim curtin would he was talking about earlier today. I think he said it was two thousand nine. Maybe doing with the mike. You're trying. it's some technical difficulties. It was sick though triple plays are triple blaze should replace no hitters because they're cooler than no hitters. Actually i think you should be able to run for triple play. What do you mean you on defense. You should be able to score a run. Yeah if you get a triple play. Yeah you should also be able to try to get a quadruple play. That's where run should happen. Just keep like if it's bases loaded. Try to get everybody out track. Even though you don't need to like a powerball strike out there. That's what should be. Those should be if you can get to four outs. Then you get a run. Okay so you can go down can do double play one. You get a triple play. Dash accounts run. I like that. Yeah so you're always just trying to get the extra out. You should absolutely figure out a way to score on defense instead of giving us like six more designated hitters like. I'm sure man fraud is going to do at some point here. Just give us what the fans want. And that's defensive runs four. yes so if you get. If there's two outs and you get a triple play. That should be two extra yup. That's all. I'm still looking for the right up there with the free. Throw right that well no. We know that this one's not legal the free throw thing. I knew that wasn't leaving. Wouldn't listen to us Jake you got it. It's the first time in yankees history. That turned triple plan would be one via walk the only team. I i had a Like one of those moments post covid where you realize how much you miss the little things. I walking out of the arena. I just was talking about like james harden fouls and got into like a spirited debate with a complete stranger about whether it's james harden's fault for trying to flop or arrest fault for allowing that and like you know letting him do it and then giving him free throws all the time and it was great. It was like man. This was fun like we. You know when you like accidentally hit the same pace as a stranger walking down the street. You're like we're just walking together for a couple of blocks do drug situation and i was just like you know that was cool. All right have we had to take yet to james harden gets injured because he jumps into fouls like he jumps at weird angles. I mean he doesn't get injured that much but yeah. He's got corrected by that this year. Yeah yeah going off. What i see right now right now is a very injured james harden. I i don't know. I mean i. It's it's weird having the nets in the sixers when everyone thought it was going to be like a collision course to have that be put. Hey hawks box we're gonna fucking enjoy the hell out of david. Stern would never let this happen. Ever ever ever adam. Silver was definitely like. What's the name of our mayor here in new york city to boss. You know Warren wilhelm right to blasios. You're also. this was the cursive lucky leprechaun. Yeah that's true. Yeah yeah you could say that. The celtics beat the nets. How close do you think kyrie was coming back and playing probably like ninety five percent and you just like nah. I don't want to probably waiting for the conference finals. Sees that up for you. Actually it was reggie miller right yet. Rested kevin durant and james harden for do we as a nation. Reggie miller an apology. Sorry kevin durant ran out of gas and the overtime which he absolutely should have because he played every minute and he put the team on his back put. Yeah he could use a couple extra minutes around or a couple of days All right our sons are wagon. No chris paul no. I think that evens it out. Devon booker was insane scored what he seven points going into halftime. And i think he ended with forty also the clippers game. Six on friday night was one of the craziest swings. And belli's appleseed. Yeah yes it was crazy. And then i game. They're interviewing man. Because it was the terrence mann game right it was a terrorist and they were interviewing him and paul george at the same time. Paul george was one of the best spin zones that have ever seen. He was like you know. I always knew the terrence had this them because i look at him. I'm like you know what he reminds me a lot of make. Paul george is like a hall of fame. Don't let him answer a question for too long. Like if he if he gets to if he gets to more than thirty seconds. He's going to say something. Not like terrible just ridiculous. No that was. I love again. I could see the wheels turning. Said it's like do you protect that ego. i think. That's how playoff p happen. You just answering a question. You got to down the road. And he was like yeah. They call me playoff pay and then bombers pump to be their bombers bar is the is the living definition of the word pumps yes he's just pumped all day every day. What's up if i was a billionaire. Like steve ballmer in the coach wasn't wearing a mask. Like i feel like i just wanted to wearing masks. Their own the team and we'll sitting courtside. I like most uncomfortable mask. Here's why i think he's got like some sort of immune issue maybe not him but maybe somebody closing. Because he's the only person that's when i also think that when you get to a certain level of richness you are like my life is so sweet. I don't wanna die any circumstance would i if i were his level rich. I'd probably wear masks all the time. Even common cold like this life i got right now is so fucking sweet. I'm not giving it up for any. He also probably billionaire walks into a room with the unwashed masses. Pours have right exactly. Don't have stole the future medicine. Do he's got he's got gotta make sure he keeps cleaning. It is a very uncomfortable mass. His hug of paul george was very funny though he was just. It's been a. It's been a very funny hug. Playoffs steve nash. Kevin durant after game. Five was awesome. Did you see that. Video of steve balmer. Just clapping up a room. Just going yes. Yes yes yes sweating through his shirt. He's he wakes up swimming. He makes chris berman. Look like the driest man in america. I think the shower just never takes her. No white sox. Dave so yeah. There's the sons devon booker game. It was home says sons and four sons and four devon booker game although sons fans we gotta. I saw. There was a new video. Let's not make this thing This one looked a little less chill. Yeah this one wasn't. We saw the whole video down like you were a half second away from curb stomp. Yeah it was. It was bad. It was bad the sons in four original video. If you watch the video the sons and four guy had full beer poured on his head which shout out the guy who got beat up. Who didn't post interview. I i actually respect. I've swung now liked that guy because to get beat up go viral and be like you know what i want my name and face more out there that takes a level of Like lack self awareness that everyone should aspire to have no. This guy just likes having his name on the internet like he likes opening up an app like twitter and seeing his own face on him. That's fame roughing. You can do to stick around. He should actually try to fight sons. Four guy rough and rowdy. We'd put off light four. I liked how you saying that..
San Francisco 49ers trade up for the No. 3 pick
"The forty niners trade up to number three overall in the twenty twenty one draft. This was shocking. News to me. Came out right after my episode released on saturday or on friday after i sent over my episode but i normally just was not expecting Draft news to come this early. I feel like most years. The draft news comes a lot closer to the draft is still three or four weeks away but the forty niners did in their aggressive so they traded the twelfth overall. Pick a twenty twenty two third round compensatory pick and first round picks in twenty twenty two and twenty two thousand three for the miami dolphins number three overall selection so the dolphins moved to twelve where the four nine were previously listed. And now the forty niners move up to three. So what does this mean. First of all they swap a total of three first round picks. Is that smart to do. I think it is if they liked the guy. If they're convinced on one of these quarterbacks enough and they're confident that they can get them at number three. I think it's a great move because at this point the forty niners roster is loaded. They're trying to win now. And all they need is that future franchise cornerstone to kind of move that what roster forward and push them over the hump so they need to get the future of the franchise right while the roster and core are relatively young and talented like they are but overall. I think this is a great move by four hundred. Gm john lynch because he's been aggressive. He really inherited a mess in two thousand seventeen. They were coming off all the colin kaepernick drama Jim thome soula era. Which was a fun was which was really fun while it lasted Brian hoyer was his first quarterback when he got there he's made aggressive moves since he treated for jimmy garoppolo drafted. George kittle has fifth round. Pick one of the better draft picks in the past three four years. That's happened for five years. That's happened in the nfl. Just in terms of the value that he got that late in the draft
NFL Insider Dan Graziano Breaks Down Week 11
"Dan graziano it is eleven fifty eight. Pm eastern so. Thank you very much man for staying up late behind. After that game. I go right to sleep. That was exciting. Dan graziano is an espn nfl insider. And he will get to sleep soon. We promise fired for game like that. Yeah me too i mean. Let's get into this right off the top here the chiefs. Just beat the raiders. Thirty five to thirty one. They beat the team who is beating kansas city. This season dan back in week. Five about a million years ago. So were you watching for in this rematch tonight. Well to see if they can do it again right. I mean that sounds simple. But like i didn't think their victory over kansas city was a fluke because it seemed like they had kind of a formula that they went out and they stuck to. They didn't win but a certainly could have. And i think that's that's significant because they know that's the team that is in their way in their division. Obviously they're on top of the conference in the league as super bowl champion. So you see the raiders. Draft a running back in the first round last year. That can help them. Control the clock and keep mahomes on the sideline like they did in the first game. They played they draft the speedy wide receiver this year in the first round. That can stress their quarterbacks. I mean they're thinking about the chiefs all the time. They're certainly not on that level at this point as the records indicate but they've constructed a team that can play in a way that threatens the chiefs and it might be able to beat them. So they're not as different as you might inclined to think yet and i have to admit like the difference between pat mahomes and derek carr felt smaller than i ever realized it would tonight. What did you see from these two quarterbacks total commanded of the offense which has not always been him. And certainly since gruden's been there. We've seen a lot more ups and downs. Where he looked like he was a little bit. Lost a little bit uncertain But this is years three with gruden and when gruden got there he talked about competent car up and making sure that car believed he was the guy. So that when you know. When ben came together around him he would be the guy that was in total control of things. And and it seems to be coming to fruition. What he's got. He's got people to throw to nelson agholor like out of nowhere as having a career renaissance in las vegas. He's got two very running back. Got a great offensive line. And i think you know he's playing with a lot of confidence as you would expect him to give all those things now. I think he's taken a big job this year in terms of where. He ranks in terms of the quarterbacks. We feel confident about what we watched the did feel like gruden kinda new like no. It's sunday night football. Let's give the people something that they'll enjoy. What did you most enjoy from. Hearing those play called why. I our love to know what the purple walrus was and i mean i think there are some vegas ones like he dropped. The sammy davis in there at one point and then and then it sounded like they've been paying very close attention to the nba off-season because there are a number of james harden and those who among nfl coaches knows how to produce primetime football. Better than jon gruden right. I mean he did it for for a decade or so for us in terms of operating in that sphere. So maybe i don't know maybe maybe he feels like a showman or maybe they're just having a lot of fun in their in their offensive meetings. They sound like all. The time does not all watching every week but was it so as showmanship goes that lasts. Drive man lake travis. Kelsey had some great moments in this game but that catch at the end mahomes calling him the best tight end in the league game. What did you see from travis kelsey tonight yeah domination. This is this. is you talk about reliability. I mean the the quarterback knows he's going to be where he's supposed to be. He knows he's almost certainly going to be open. He know he's going to catch the ball like it's total complete confidence in a guy in a key spot third down. A guy had throw to the end zone in the final minute. I mean he is the best tight end in the league. I don't think it's even close especially when you know. George kittle is on the shelf right now in the second best tight end. The league is probably the guy that was on hiller sidelines tonight. So there's there's no doubt that he in homes are in sync in a way that very few combinations like that are

"Man Greg O'Donnell at 866496 23 100. Alright, Polly Cooler of content on a Friday a tradition like no other My friends. It starts with. I think we're keeping it a little bit on the home front here, Right? I think we're starting with where? My little church candle. Yeah. George Kendall. It's Ah, I didn't miss misses. You know, you keep track of these days, National National Left handed day or national cinnamon Cheerios Day. Whatever it is, you know, whatever it might be, and I guess was was yesterday National tight end day. Is that right? Is it the night's the last weekend of the last Sunday in October and kettles? Okay, We've had this conversation in our household the other day about what is Election day, and it's a for its the first Tuesday. After the first Monday of November. It's got confusing for awhile. Thanksgiving for that. We start talking about the fourth Thursday of the year. So tight end is the tenant is the last Sunday of October. You're asking me do we can't even figure out the North End zone. Levi Stadium. How we gonna know, Tight end. You know George Kittle talking about his favorite day of the year It was conversation between Garrett Seller Jimmy G and myself. I'm pretty sure it was the day that all the Titans were active. And so Jimmy G was like, What is the national tight and they were like, Yeah, it's a holiday men's national tight end day. It was kind of rolled off. The Garretts helicopter touched down on that day, which No. It was our first annual Niners National tight end day. But in my opinion every day is National Titans Day. But the NFL just wanted to give us one specified weekend, which is the last weekend in October. So thank you to them for that, But I mean, it's fun. Just the fact that no titans get a little bit off recognition on this one day and all the Titans were miked up. Khun mash all that up together, and I think it's just fun and Um, I've tied it Tightens Tightens is kind of like a brotherhood. Um, and it's a position. I kind of want to see everyone's feet all the time, and I want to see Titan's Shawn's. I want to see him. Locking guys can't taking guys breaking tackles passed pro? I like seeing it all. And so the day that we're gonna recognize all of the great Titans across the league is a great day and I'm looking forward to our second annual national title. I think in honor of national tight and they should bring back old tight ends. So you know that God halftime ceremony, please. Welcome Brent. Joan. Yeah, please welcome Russ Francis, please welcome Ted Pops. And for gays. Welcome time. My old little league mate. Ted. Yeah. Please welcome my other Marin County High school kid. Brett Caroline, please welcome Eric Johnson. Or is he better know Mr Jessica Simpson, please welcome Stanford Man and Barry resident Greg Clark. Nice. Dude. You think the honor of it? We should play psycho.

"Carries a lot of weight and, ah It's incredible how he can motivated team and also find a lot of firing your ass. Hey, get that done, And he's really good at in its natural friends and everybody respected. So, yes, we misses. You know his gun thinking ability, But I know he's an incredible leader to and I mean, I've been in one of our most port leaders. So once we get when we get him back, that will definitely be a huge boost for us. All right. Good stuff. Good. George. We've got George Kittle with us of the Murphy Mac show George. Obviously, a huge missing link this year is the fans in the seats, man, and it can really, you know, affect the outcome of game. Ames in certain cases, defense on the field. That kind of thing got the fans Miss you. You're a total crowd favorite down Levi Stadium. And you know what's it like playing without fans? And if you could communicate a message to the fans, like What would your message two Niner fans be that are dying to get back in there and see you guys? Well, I will say we definitely missed you guys so much. You know, we hear every cheer Um, I know that there was not a better atmosphere than the nephew. Chance of game. That was some of the most fun I've ever had playing football. Um, but even when we do we still feel you guys and we know you have supporting us. So thank you so much for that. No one would do get band back in the stands. We know you guys were compared stadium down, and so We thank you for that, You know, just keep supporting because we'll get things rolling here. We're excited about it. Yeah, for sure doing his thing. All right. Well, then, let's talk about the overall picture than Georgia two and two. So every story is different. Every seasons. Different last year. You guys won eight. No, right. I mean, that was easy. Everything went your way now two different path at two and to just kind of wondering the George Kittle, you know, message to both your teammates and to the fan base about how you guys handle this different road. Nick poses her Rahim's her Jimmy's heard. It's a term in a different bunch of hurdles in front of you. So how do you guys attacking? You know you're right. Every season is completely different. But there's always similarities. And, Yeah, we started eight No last year, but At the same time. I mean, they're not of injuries we had last year was incredible. We We lost our two starting tackles week for starting fullback in the best possible, but he does. And you know, we had a rock solid fullback. We had two backup tackles, and we won like four or five games with that. So you know we have guys that can play angry, deviate on every decision, And so you guys take Evangeline opportunity. You know, that's all season was last year. Every time someone went down, someone else stepped up and that's what we have to count on. Football injuries happen. So I'm not really concerned that I'm just concerned how we respond. Um, you know, And with the week I know where you were two into which you know is obviously not what we want to be Everyone a win every game. But Give me a second. I missed my exit. I'm sorry, but I I feel like I should apologize to you. That's my bad knee. Your balls I got where I was going to say every week different and this is an opportunity for us will want to know And you know,.
NFL Injury Report: Week 2
"Receiver Chris Godwin isn't concussion protocol. George Kittle has been rolled out. George Kendall. Hi. Did you see his need bent in a really strange when he came back and finished that game in that loss against the Cardinals? He was just ruled out, so I don't think it's on your hot list. Okay. What else do we see Anything else of note? I saw it last night, The Bangles tied and CJ Zuma. Zuma has a torch Achilles. He's out for the season cold. Starting, Jack Doyle is out against the Vikings. Jamison Crowder for the Jets is out against the 40 Niners. As you mentioned Adam, the Lions have ruled out Kenny Golladay. Cornerback Desmond Trufant and guard Joe Doll. Free money Packers No tackle Kenny Clark is out for lions. I got to tell you, I think that the injury reports are lighter than I thought they'd be after one week, especially with no training camp, but

"Joe Thompson here don't know you sort of Giants game Last night was good through about 6.5 innings in a kind of bottom fell out of it, but it was wild to see it in this new way. You know John Miller. I was listening to him. Call the game on can be our I love listening to John Miller as a stand before and he's describing it. He's describing the game from San Francisco, and the game is going on in L. A at Dodger Stadium are Our home opener, if you will is Tuesday, So anyway, The other thing that struck me was that you know the home field advantage that you normally find that's going away in sports across the board, not just baseball. And so I for the first time field is, though a lot of these these edges that you might give to the home team in a contest. Just I think aside from baseball may be a bit different because you have to know the ballpark in the bounces. You know, in the You know, the right field wall is here and they left field foul line is there I think like, if you look at Soccer matches or even NFL. As that rolls out. Assuming everything actually goes the way they planet. I think it's possible that the home field advantage will sort of go away. But anyway was cool to see the Giants back in action, even though it didn't really work out. For the Giants. You can reach us all the various ways for 15 80 88. 10. If you have a question for Michael Schneider, this would be a good time to get it in because Michael Snyder joined us very via. Zoom. Hi, Michael Snyder. Woo. Hey. I am and we're zooming. Can you hear me, buddy? You are one of the great Giants fans. Indeed I hear you. Yeah. Had to be exciting for you to Ah, to see the Giants back in action. I was thrilled for again about six innings. I mean, he's kind of petered out. But you know why we didn't have the hot hitting Austin Slater in the lineup because of Gabe Kapler's righty lefty approach to putting men on the field. And you know Johnny Cueto look great. We'll see how things go. It's not that they're not great hitters, but it's funny. You brought up the NFL. Because George Kittle himself, Uh, 40 Niner stalwart, said he'd be happy to play without fans in the Superdome and century link in Seattle because of that home field advantage being eliminated. So you know, Yeah, you're right on there. Yeah, That's a really good point ahead into those specific spots. So you hear a little echo when I talked to Michael Is that him? You're hearing that, Chris. So here's my solution in the moment for that, Like when I'm speaking maybe pot him down that way. You won't hear the echo. I don't know. Maybe I'm wrong, though. All right. I'm going to stop talking. That's the other solution Looking like, Yeah. You know the solution. You should talk less. And then we won't have the echo. Michael, What do you have for us this week? Well. Radioactive is a new movie available on Amazon Prime and it's you know, it's ah, scrupulously produced period piece about Marie Curie that reveals really crucial moments in her life as a revolutionary anomaly. This was a female scientist specifically. Physicists and chemists in the 19th century Polish born a Parisian dweller Madame Curie, who's played sturdy and determined by the British actress Rosamund Pike. You may remember her from going girl or or Jack Reacher. She was under constant pressure despite love and unwavering support. I'm her husband and fellow scientist Pierre Curie played here by Sam Riley on then Pierre dies, which kind of shatters Marie and leaves their two daughters fatherless and you know, she's belittled by colleagues is the only woman among them but she sold her show She he shouldered.

2019 NFL Draft prospects
"We're about three weeks from the NFL draft. It's been an interesting off season. If you were bears fan last season. It was interesting the bears gone out and done a lot of things this off-season than to talk about that and much much more. We bring in our guy NFL writer, Eric at home. Nice enough to jump on and Eric tonight. Everything's good. Yeah. It was just thinking these last three weeks for the drafter get a feel like any turn into here that always does every single year seems like it takes a long time here in Chicago. We've always been interested in the draft. Because usually the bears were bad a high draft pick. And now they were smart last year and traded pigs got gotta Khalil Mack. And now they've not picking until the third round unless they make a move. But I mean, I think it seems like all their other moves have been in you know, in free agency and bringing. Players in. So it's not nearly the draft excitement here in Chicago. Like, it was when just imagine if the draft was here, and it was no bears draft pick for you know, for the first day and a half down. Admit what difficult I think it would be legal to do that. The office. Like, let's about this. The bears probably will make their selection around nine o'clock. I think on Friday night. So you settle in. You know, maybe, you know, get some food get something to eat whatever it's going to be a while. I don't think they'll be moving up. They don't have a lot of picks. So yeah, it's gotta be patience is virtue for bears fans outside of kicker because kickers not real answer. When you talk about to what's the biggest need for the bears. Hang into the draft. It's a great question. You know, I think it probably, you know, I think what they did themselves. A lot of a good favor by refunding airless, you know, and just you know for a one year deal. Right. We know he's the third outside guy. But still it just eliminated one spot that you have to kinda reach four and not reach four. But you know, have to hope that somebody is at that position waiting for you in the draft. So it probably slimmed down to two maybe three or four positions. I would think running back has to be on that list. You know, I personally would like to see. Them. Get more death on the offense of line. And I think the secondary either corner or safety would be a spot they can look at and their few defensive action, the strap that I think could play, you know, cover the flight and also places safety. So there's some versatile guys in this great year for either position a corner safety, but it's deep enough where they could possibly get somebody there. So I would just, you know, spit balling kinda Dr throwing I would say those it's likely that they could be picking one of those three spots that eighty seven toys have you ever seen as I'm asking the question. I know we've all seen it. But have you? I was gonna ask you if you've seen the situation where teams running back like Jordan Howard performed relatively well and was light by many people. And but basically the head coach had no use form at this point. And that's why they ended up moving them. Yeah. I mean, obviously, totally different situation from what happened with Levy on bell. You know, those are the exceptions to the rule, but you know, it is one of those. Position where if you're not one of the elite top, you know, five or six guys in the league at your spot. You know, there's only so much teams willing to kind of sink into that dishing. I know that there have been back strapped in the top. You know, five ten picks several years, it's not gonna have this year. But it's happened. A lot in recent history or often more often than I would've expected. I know Todd Gurley got his big deal. I know other people have gotten pretty good money. That's dishing bell sign this off season. But there's a drop off, you know. And so I think if you're not special, you know, that maybe are deemed expendable depending on the system. And so you know, I can see both sides why they moved on. And I think they feel like with Mike Davis Torri Cohen, they add one more the draft. You know, maybe Ryan dollars trading Kampe preseason hero again or something like that. But you know, we'll see I think they will try to add at least one more. And then maybe an underrated free agent to add on top of that. Daryl. Patterson is. Is an interesting guy. But he's been an interesting guys come into the league. Other people have found out ways to use them and the patriots even lined him up in the backfield as a running back. Do you expect Matt Nagy to do that? Also, not only just swing passes and give them in and around and things like that. And also given the ball out of the running back position. Yeah. It's a great option. I think you know, the patriots really the first team to really unlocked at running ability. I mean like you said when he was in Oakland, you know, other places he was running those kind of gadget runs and things like that. But I mean, they line them up as a tailback and got buffalo game was it was crazy to watch. He had twenty something carries. And so, yeah, it was it was a strange thing to think about you know, a six to two hundred twenty pound receiver who could run like the wind lining up kind of power back. But he can do it. I think that really added to the appeal. He's the perfect Matt Nagy player. They'll run kick off, you know, he could be a wide receiver if you need to. I don't think he's more than. A number four. But still, you know, having that deeper out option is important. And I think that's you know, that kinda speed if Taylor Gabriel is out there, they may not have that exact replica that so it's different version of speed. And then as you said we saw last year that he can be running back, you know, in cut a break glass in case for -mergency situation. Seahawks quarterback. Russell Wilson wants a new deal. He gave the Seahawks April fifteenth as a deadline to get that deal done. Do you think he gets done in what type of deal? Do you think Russell Wilson who get from the Seahawks? So here's my hypothetical question here. Like what they let's say if April sixteenth by parents diversity, by the way. Let's. Let's say April sixteenth. They offer him. The richest TV deal of all time. You're gonna say oh sorry. The deadline. Hey, understand that this thing happened in January. We didn't really hear about it until very recently. But meeting his, you know, giving them a deadline, but you know, it just doesn't make a lot of stints. It's not a if something magical happens on that calendar day, not as some kind of contract, you know, bonus kicks in or anything else that would prevent them from getting this thing done, or if there's some kind of you know, league deadline or something like that. It's not July fifteenth and the franchise player, so it's just one of those kind of subtle threats from the from the Wilson camp saying, hey, don't forget about me, baby. You know, I still want to get my deal. I still want to get this thing done. You know, there's an opportunity for him to really cash in. And also kind of hold them hostage a little bit. I suspect it there's a good chance that gets done. But for months now there have been whispers that you know, maybe the Seahawks aren't quite prepared to pay him. What what a lot of people think he's worth it would at least entertain the idea of. What could we get you know, trade for him? Just theoretically, what would he get you know, is worth three first Thursay? We're still talking about a thirty thirty one year old guy. And there's still a handful of teams that really badly need that franchise different speaking quarterback. So I I don't know. I still think it's gonna get done 'cause that's city loves them. Even if a lot of past teammates were the biggest Russell Wilson fan. They know how much he means for the team another couple minutes with NFL writer, Eric at home and Erica week or so ago, rob gronkowski decided to retire. A lot of people on Twitter and everywhere else going, okay. The best tight end. Maybe you'll ever play the game has retired. Who's the best tight end in the NFL? Now who do you like? Yeah. I mean, that's a great question. To kinda depends what you want. So if you guys can do with grunk did which is being impact players blocker, and as receiver, you know. And and think about all the calls that were made against gronk over the years. He was kinda like the Cam Newton of the tight end position like say what that's not interference. Though, he just, you know, even with that work in Gascony was so special. I love the fact that Travis Kelsey can be as dangerous, you know, the last couple of years he's actually been a better receiver than gronk. No question about it. But he's not nearly the blocker that he is. You know, we see some of these young pass catching tight. I mean, George Kittle out in San Francisco at times has flashed like he could be the best to way tight in the league because he blocks his tail off. He's got great receiving chops. And really the only thing that's kind of held them back injuries. I don't necessarily think you can have a long career. So this might be one of those debate that we kinda have for years. I don't think there's any one guy that fills that checked off all the boxes like like gronk did. And he had injury issues too. But still when he was out there. There's really no doubt. And I don't know that that that one guy even though there are some great blockers. It's about staying receivers you rarely see both. Do you think that Jason Witten can still be productive? I don't know man this. I wanted to I know Jason Witten the player, it was outstanding. He was just so consistent day in and day. I knew what you're going to get from. He was probably, you know, he was unsexy version of gronk and that he could block and catch fast but a year off his age. I know they say they're going to come in just and all that. His feeling this thing could kind of turn south, and we could see 'cause he looked slow by the end when he was out there last time. He just wasn't the same guy. Eric, we appreciate jumping for few minutes. We'll hopefully those go to slow the next couple of weeks. We'll talk to you soon. All right. Enjoy the run up to the draft guys. Thanks. They got home jumping on talking NFL. Like Whitten wasn't good at the end. Then like fancy players, look like, wait. Hold on. Really? Like, what is she some Witten really gonna bring to the Cowboys? Here's a guy wanted to bring up to you. Because this is a guy that I thought when he got to the NFL was going to have a bigger impact than he's head and OJ Howard at the tight end. Okay. Because what we saw in college. We thought. Okay. The when this guy gets here Dowd using is just because the quarterback situation and the problems have had do you think he can still become a dominant tight end in this league? Maybe because he did it in college. And you assume that that body type in his speed is is ability to get down field. And you know, James Winstons been not very good. No. And I think a lot of people misread what Tampa Bay is doing. I don't think he's there for the long haul. I think Tampa Bay if they could find someone else to be their quarterback. They would go with that person. Yeah. So whether or not it's trying to find a quarterback in this year's draft. Or or or planning for the future? Elsewhere. But like I don't trust him as Winston do.
Newlyweds' final moments before fatal helicopter crash seen on video
"All just goes. Downs. One way out. Should just be trying to hop on helicopters now because you heard somebody died. Now for me. I'm good right now. But you know, until death so death do them part. That's a shame man that sucks so bad because this really good people to pay for a helicopter. It'd probably do pretty well, let's assume and then just on their wedding day. I love you love you. Well, I saw you posted that plane today that was trying to land. And then it hit the car and the wheels off those people alive. Yeah. Okay. Good little of their videos. Did you see that? We got iota that one horse video. They're still they're still. Yeah. Conflicting reports on that. There's one person at tween assess my cousin. She's her net. Looks like a death potentially the internet is filled with death. I do not see the plane buses while you never see those planes fail on those like road landings. There's always a success story. Sali successful Denzel was drunk and successful university of Michigan had a plane that went up came down. It was. Okay. It was safe. Yeah. See there's always like there's panic and then it seems like planes survive helicopter. So seems like they do not. I don't know how Leonardo DiCaprio made it that one late night whenever he flew into his ouster wolf, offering helicopters are not done.
