"It was a sobering picture of 44 guys and one patriot. Yeah. But the top two corners for me were sauce Garner and Patrick surtain. And I think that when I go to think about guys who just dominate every coverage, every type of receiver no matter what, you know, and obviously I cover three kind of limited in how he's deployed, but sir tan certainly. Those are the guys. And then ward starts to enter the conversation in that second tier. So the niners were basically first and waited DVA. Seattle, I thought tailed off second half season. They lost Brooks. Metcalf just seems like he could be taken out to your point with the matchup. They do have lock it back. I thought walker was running better the last couple of weeks, but it's hard for me to shake, I mean, they barely beat the rams. The rams, McVeigh's already like, you know, packed his luggage for whatever vacation he's going to baker manfield was atrocious in that game. Just flat out capital a atrocious and they still almost won. So it's just hard for me to believe you go from that. To this San Francisco team that it's not I'm going to end up taking San Francisco -9 and a half. The person. The line freaks me out though because Kyle will get a 14, 16 point lead, halfway through the third quarter. We go, run, run, run, run, run, run, run, and he will beg this yacht to backdoor this thing. So spread does scare me on this one. Well, let me give you this one. On FanDuel, San Francisco wins the first half and the game minus one 85. Yeah. I like that. How about this? That makes sense to me. Buffalo wins the first half in the game. Minus two 50. Minus two 50 is long, but that's surprisingly, I would have expected like three 50. How about this? I don't see how the dolphin got on top of them. San Francisco and buffalo when the first half in the game parlay, plus one 15. Plus odds. The number of ten point teasers multiple team money line parlays that feel good in this wild card weekend has to be so very concerned, right? Like how many times am I checked? Okay, Bengals to win niners to win bills twin. Oh, there's no way this misses, right? Like it's very worrisome. But it smells correct. It would be surprising to see teams like the niners and teams like the bills who have had multiple seasons of playoff experience come out and lay a total stinker in the wildcard round. I would be shocked to see it. And then that is, I mean, I think there's ceiling is the highest of anyone either conference, whether there's still a lot of baggage or Shanahan, and they still have a rookie QB. Who's 6 and O, but he's still a rookie. But all the things they can do during a game. There's no other team that can do the stuff they do. Yeah. They can just split McCaffrey out as a receiver. They can take their tight end and just run 40 yard outs with him and will routes and they have debo who's like, there's nobody else like him in the league and they can just use all these pieces. It's like watching somebody make this incredible dinner. There's nobody in the league close to the weapons they have. We have never, ever seen a personal grouping like this, where they go 21 personnel, right? So two backs, that's McCaffrey and Kyle used check. One tie down with George kettle, and then to receivers Brandon, you can and debo Samuel. They can line up in any formation they want and do it with three different dudes in the backfield for even when they put kettle back there sometimes. Ayuk, they'll hand the ball off to him on like jet sweeps and stuff. And then they can go empty 5 wide on the next snap. We have never seen versatility like this. And the level of preparation it takes is a total headache, right? You have to deal with all of this. So there's a little bit of like, all right, so you also are seeing it for the third time. Maybe that helps a little bit, but I'm not sure it's too much. If Shanahan gets like some of these base defense, they're like Dan quince kind of line up and play. John ganon fatigue was just line up and play. With this level of versatility, but this much ability like hide and play whack a mole. I struggle to find a defense in the NFC playoffs that can stop this niners offense, save for one. And it's the Giants. Because Wink Martindale doesn't care. Yeah. Exactly. So I believe in the miners. I really, really do. And it's because this person all grouping is just so unique. No Brooks for Seattle either, which is just a disaster because their defense wasn't really good anyway. To me, the safest thing to do is just ten team 10.3 team tees or the money parlay with the niners and just have some fun with that. It's the first game. I just don't see it. It would have to be like a complete catastrophic, almost legendary meltdown loss where Brock purdy just turns into a pumpkin over the course of four quarters. But Seattle doesn't have the type of team that would even make him do that. And he's super confident. Right. And if purdy turns into a pumpkin, it won't be this game. Right. Hand to the ball off. Every single down. You can, you have Elijah Mitchell back, your office alliance and playing well. Like, you don't need party to throw the ball 25 times. You really don't against this seat's run defense. So if herding pumpkins and it kills the niners, there's blame on purdy, but there's a lot of blame on Kyle because you should not be in a rookie's first career playoff start. You shouldn't be putting him in a place where him pumpkin matters. Run the football. Don't even put him in that dangerous situation. We're aligned on that one. All right, let's go. What's your what's your key matchup for the Chargers jacks? Yeah, so this is Trevor Lawrence versus a ticking clock. Trevor Lawrence versus the blitz, Trevor Lawrence versus the rush. For perspective, these teams played in

"Any concerns about playing tyler lockett To end the season the colts allowed the second. Most wide receiver receptions over those final four games. Kenny moore who Should be in coverage on tyler. Lock it hip. I fully expect him to play but he got a little bit. Banged up This week so maybe he's entering the game not fully at one hundred percent. Fourteen endzone targets last year. I liked title. Lock it and i'm not scared of the match up all right. My tight end. Start of the week is atlanta's wide receiver to be kyle pits rookie. Tight in philadelphia is vulnerable at the position. We've talked about it in our breakdown. They gave up some huge games last year including fifteen for one eighty three and one to george kettle. Kyle pits has wheels. He's going to get into space like literally. There's only one way that a man of that size can be that fast and you must have wheels in his yeah. He's a motorcycle no he is. he's just he only needs a few place to have a game. And i think the target counts actually going to be fairly high for him. They're going to put them into positions where The move them around. They run them You know in motion and you saw just from a couple of preseason plays you can get him the ball three or four yards down the field where a possession tight end would go down pink and he can turn the corner and You know really validate being the highest drafted tight end in nfl. He i think the yards after catch are going to be good for him this game. I mean you get him on. The weak side of the defense role amounts sneak him out there and he could take some to house My tied tight end started. The week is logan. Thomas recently talked about it with curtis samuel was quoted saying mcgrane So i don't expect curtis samuel to play The record mr samuel. It's already on growing as on c. k. k. k. k. k. exclamation point exclamation point But you know. I think that that puts logan thomas as the second target. He becomes a very necessary player. And the los angeles chargers tied for the fourth most touchdowns allowed to tight end last year including some monster games kelsey and waller and the opposing starting tight ends versus the los angeles chargers that over six targets a game. So it's a little bit of bankable volume with high upside on us. Hate this pick. Because you're so right and i'm facing him in week. One i'll boiling. And i going head to head. He keeps saying logan. Thomas will be this last year's logan thomas. she's probably right about at least for week. One mike. why don't you close us out with. Oh why don't you go with one of my guys all right. We'll do that with rams tight. End tyler higby taken on. The chicago bears. The bears were allowing double digit fantasy points to the tight end position on a per game basis last year The matchup is especially good for yards after catch which the chicago bears allowed. A lot of those and tyler higby. That's what he does and jason. Moore's ironclad.

"York so all of my couch basically touching the window. So let's ratchets. Rain pass said right. The rat from the department cell man are there I had a fantasy draft last night guys more today. I two more today. But i was thinking. More on the day the league's a day night doubleheader her mania and There's certain guys that you will get fantasy that just make you feel better about your team. I have no idea if they're going to be good. But there are certain guys that if you get them you feel like your team's going to be good this year's nominated for that guy. Because i got him in the fourth round and i feel like i stole. Something is julio jones. That is the guy for me. That so i just feel i feel like my roster is complete because i have what many people consider to be grizz wide receiver. You guys have like just fantasy players that make you. Feel better about your. I don't know if julio jones is going to be good. I have. I honestly have no idea. I know having him makes me feel. Better about my. It's weird one. Honestly i think any kansas city chiefs. He kinda get excited about. Its good points offense. Fun teams teams. A big proponent. As i said earlier this week and just guys a you like to watch that. You wanna watch some teams you want to be invested in when the red zone rolls around. Oh caution to the wind. I'm about to find out my draft because I've become made aware that everyone was in his draft last night. I just goofing. So i have no idea how to do it. I was in. I didn't accept the invitation. Phantom my team ask apt to track. Always that's guarantee with me now so happy for the option mike. Here's what i mean by this. Okay just quickly right. I took mccaffrey. And then i got george kettle and then i took a second running back. I took Edwards hilar- from the kansas city chiefs at his ankle I have no idea. I just. I wanted rb to right there and i got rb to. Yeah he's my rb to all right And so but then you start to get concerned about the wide receiver position now the overall first pick in the draft so i have to wait a while between picks so you start getting concerned about the wide receiver position. It's still because. I have a wide receiver yet. Then all of a sudden. Julio jones is there in the fourth round. And that's what i'm talking about. It depends on when you select the guy and who the guy is that you select. I have maybe the greatest wide receiver after going running back tight end tight end. I got a guy who could be the best wide receiver in the league this year. And so i feel really good about mateen's a little My little over the hill down there i said. Wow but that's my point. Just having him on my team makes me feel good. I don't care that. He's a little bit over the hill. I know he's over the name. I love that name. It was name in the fourth round. Guy used to be the first pick in the draft. You're upset you've been obsessed with him since you saw him at atlanta's you also you also have todd gurley on your team No doubt i'm just saying that's another guy like he's a free agent thinking no free agent. He's not even on an nfl team. Not in fantasy and ask the time. Like i have levy umbrella. Got him late. Something that makes me feel good. Why did you get him late. He's on the ravens. He's on the ravens rounded. you take. i didn't take an. Oh wow. I did find him as a starting quarterback but he didn't have a spot on your team. I don't like my team in this watch show. Why are you criticize tight ends. And you have to running backs and three titans. Yeah we'll come come at me with with some offers. It's a tight end league now. That's what they say. Oh god i don't wanna watch any of these guys play golladay. You could have just picked maury kupuna a hawaiian riot. Ill sewn call bs. Have you ever had it. Sounds kind of gimmicky. Your what is this. Going to a luau pineapple on this but as subtle subtle hints. Everyone seemed to be drafting yesterday. From an interesting place. Juju appear to be at a wnba game next to to running was drafting next to like celebrities. I damned him. I was like. Are you doing a draft at a wnba game sitting courtside with all these celebrities and he was like hell. Yeah i was like okay. Ju ju i'm in bed. Also you expect you roll any other way. Like i get odd. Text us at a lacrosse game. And he's texting me. You know the lax games went to the tournament atlanta. He's like marlins man he shows up at all. These sporting events told them the quiet sign and he went to alabama miami. He's got plugs everywhere. Bill europe's up with me for not taking cam newton night. I don't care pretty upset with the odd thing to be an easy shot. I took rothlisberger. Should be upset about that. Well i have the. I have trevor lawrence as well your team other than trevor lawrence would be so good for years ago. Well listen you have to take the upside quarterback i did and then you need to back it up with you. Know some stability and i did that with big ben. You're right about stability right. He's not moving. I went just fields. The upside quarterback. I tried to get him. You went very early.

"Slice and dice here but he can also give you that ability to change the game with his legs but my only question. My only question with this dual threat quarterback and with this two quarterback system in san francisco is. How are you going to affect the tempo and how is how are you going to do that. Where it is a positive for your team now. Let people can say well. You don't want affect the temple of the offense you don't want wanna affect jimmy. Jeez rhythm you don't want affect the offensive line because it can go out of whack but if you perfect it well enough if you perfected where you're switching in jimmy. Trae say jimmy gets three or four plays and then you try. Switch it up. Try try to switch up the tempo and give trae a couple of plays that can that can be beneficial in my opinion. Because you're letting the defense no all right we'll give you one. Look but here's another look that you need to prepare for and that basically throw them through loop and then you bring the addition of different looks throughout the whole league where it through like different offense of looks you bring the edition of the double tight. Look and then you get one play of the reduction with triple option and then you get the play action pass off the wagon. And then you get the t-bone look the wishbone. Look it just gives you more options and you know me. I love options. I love the option of having a quarterback who can do one senate skills and having another quarterback who can do the complete opposite that everybody in the nfl. They wanna see the next great thing the next grade threat quarterback everybody wants that next great threat quarterback but the issue for me at least in san francisco is yet to quarterback's seem nice. And you when you have both quarterbacks on the field at the same time i think how shanahan can whip up some great designed for great playcalling. That will be so innovative. That will just blow defenses enters minds. But is it too early for this kid to be the savior. Is it too early now. I'm thinking they're not going to start this kid. He might see some playing time. He's probably gonna see some playing time. He's probably going to see some playing time week. One september twelfth in detroit. If he's healthy. I'm going to say about over under probably over around the line. Maybe seven plays maybe seven to ten what. I'd probably go over on that because it wouldn't surprise me to see both quarterbacks on the field at the same time. That's how innovative. This guy is that how innovated content is thinking right now september twelfth when they played the detroit. Lions dan campbell not going to be able to break kneecaps on the sideline and he's actually can outdo scheme of defense to get one of the best young offensive coordinators and authentic young head coaches in the league right now so it's going to be interesting to see Going back to the question. Has there ever been a successful two quarterback system in the nfl. Yeah there has and you know what we saw. We saw reports. We saw a clear day last season with you. Know takes him hill and drew brees. They were successful two quarterback system. Now people say oh drew brees was the guy but when you had tasers hill he also led the way. And then you jameis winston. He was pretty good to look how far they got now. They didn't win the super bowl. But i still think that there can be. It's accessible to quarterback system indian fell. The league has made it easier to keep these qb's on the roster at all times and league has made the offensive weapons in the offensive firepower at an all time. High and the offensive game easier right now compared to years previously now. The traditions between the two quarterbacks is what scares me the most because the most common period for to qb system to emerge in the nfl is very seldom. But it is a very intriguing aspect that not a lot of people have characteristic that not a lot of people have in the nfl. Just look at the way. The rosters in the nfl are designed. The league has made it easier to keep two or three cubeys on the roster at all times since two thousand eleven so that opens up an opportunity that opens up opportunity for teams to rely on a to cuba system as a transition to but the idea of building a full season around a to. Qb system like the dolphins did last year with to attack of lower and ryan. Patrick and like the saints did with drew brees and take some hill. I'm probably going to say it's unlikely that those teams make it to the super bowl then a team who has great quarterback. I don't know like tom brady. Lake patrick mahomes like russell wilson. But i could see it leaning more to the fact that if you have two guys who are kind of on the same footing but who have different characteristics and who have different styles of quarterbacking. I could see that more often showing up in the league now than in previous years. And i can see a team being successful like the niners like a team who has great core who has great playmakers around him like a george kettle. Like a deebo. Samuel like raheem oester a trace. Sherman us check. I could see cowboy fan being able to come up with a game plan that would be able to dice and mix and match players and get so many people in positions where they have the advantage against the deepen simply because they don't know where the ball's going especially on line especially ongoing situations because just think of this. Just think of this on the goal line. You're in the wishbone. No excuse me not the wishbone. You're in the pistol formation. Trae lance eight shotgun. You've got he moster to the right of him you got kyle. You check to the left of him. You got george biddle in the flat and then you got somebody coming up maybe a wide receiver coming emotion like they love to do every. Everybody loved to send the wide receiver emotion and put that little. You know the top pass especially on the goldline you tell me. Get deebo. Samuel coming over you get brandon. You coming over. The defense will have no clue where the ball was going. The bulk go to lance the balkan. Go to her. The ball guilty us check bulk go to george kettle. The bulk goto deebo samuel brandon. Euch or like i said before. Trae leads can you put them on so you have so many different options and so many different weapons right now where you can attack the defense where they don't know and they don't know they gotta cover everybody. You can't double george anymore. You can't double brandon you because debate is going to be there. You can't not read the quarterback because if you do if you don't read the quarterback atlanta's can walk in easily. We saw that during week. Three and the reason and you know what if i was detroit. I'd be shaking my boots. I really would because they probably have no idea. Who's gonna be starting quarterback. We kind of have a sense. That jimmy garoppolo is going to be the starting quarterback. Come week one. I got to see how trays fingers going to be. We know how much he has chipped bone and it's going to be interesting to see how he calms and how he develops and how he recuperates from that injury. They say it's only about five seven days but that he chipped bone fragment of a chip. But it's still a chip on so it's gonna be interesting to see how he recuperates and how he you know recovered from that. But i think that in today's day and age there can be a successful two quarterback system in the nfl just simply off of the creativity and the roles that you guys have on the team. There's a reason the for natural. I'm gonna keep two.

"We were just talking about. Fred warner's delia. Let's talk about another guy in this niners defense and that's jimmy ward. Who basically in like one tweet or a couple of tweets. I should say called out. Every single tight end in the national football league. Not named george kill. He was responding to a list of all. The tight ends that i think. Cbs sports put out and basically he was like none of these dudes can get fifty yards on main a game except for george kettle. What's up you love that that just energy to where he wasn't even called out on no-one like mention his name or safeties in general about these titans or what these titans can do just like. Oh here goes top. Listen jimmy wards at all right. Let me turn on violence right now. Because i'm gonna go out these guys necks and that's exactly what he did. And the only one. I could realistically say okay. That one could probably put up. Fifty would be travis kelsey because patrick mahomes throw fit the ball in any bucket and he will force that window he will force that throwing window Even if it's not there. Darren waller i think is a hell of a tight end but derek carr is not gonna throw on jimmy ward if he sees jimmy award guarding him man to man and then the other tight anti those would be the only two i would be worth debating about The other one like zakar. When did he do last year. He was not good. George kittles obviously on jimmy ward's team so that's a benefit there Jimmy grams really. Old gregg olson retired like east. These titans thurgood but they're not anyone's that you're gonna wanna debate when it comes to jimmy. Jimmy ward may not be a household name like a tyron matthew. But i do think he should be in that that spectrum with tyron matthew because he's a hell of a safety and i'm glad he finally got a home with this team in. They gave him a home in stop putting him at outside corner and let him play that free safety and the reason why they honey badgers because he does play that. Honey badger role toward sometimes. You'll see him up high. Sometimes you'll see him in the box. Sometimes you'll see him in the slot Sometimes you'll see him blitzing he may not blitz to the amount of honey badger has with kansas city. But maybe that changes this year under d'amico ryan's and now we're talking about jimmy ward the blitzer So i don't think his his ceiling. His potential is fully tapped yet. And that's why the forty niners gave him that. That second contract and the he's unbelievable in coverage cooper cup was having a phenomenal year in two thousand nineteen. He was putting up crazy numbers. One hundred yards eight catches a game in jimmy. Workers comes in there and and makes them look. Pedestrian makes him look like a mediocre receiver. Is richard sherman would say so. I i like this guy. He should be more respected across the league. If he's not that's fine because we enjoy watching him play and that's all that matters l. Look at the forty nine or schedule this year. And i'm like all right jimmy ward. Just put all the tight ends on blast. Let me do they have coming in. And you rightly so. It's not like they play a murderer's row of tight end. I mean tj. Hodkinson week one. Okay robert tanya with the packers all right but aaron rodgers might not even be in that game so who the hell knows other than that. Oh kyle pits in week fifteen against atlanta. I guess that that's probably the best one. Although we don't really know how good kyle pits is gonna be yet. But it's not like jimmy ward's going to have to eat a lot of crow with his talking here that's kind of smart time to put it out this year. Yeah i don't think so. And then like tj hopkinson He's flashed bit like he. He's a good tight end. Whose quarterback now jared goff. Jared guy i don't think jerry goff's really gonna wanna test jimmy ward. He knows all too well and the other like tanya tanya gets a lot of touchdowns but he doesn't put up much yardage try. I think he's also under that fifty yard barrier in then kyle pizzi. Yeah that that's the one that may be able to get jimmy ward this year if there is a one byte coalpit saw so like a receiver more so than a tight in true i. I don't know if this is true or not. But it feels like the forty. Niners have to play the falcons every year in december and just like it drives me nuts and i always get nervous about that game i. I'm still nervous about that game for some reason. I don't feel good about it. Leo there one of those teams. That's always going to be a tough out for the forty niners You know when they had. They have a quarterback matt ryan matt ryan could win any game at any moment depending if he has a defense does have a defense that game. Then no he's he's not gonna win But they have talented receivers. Like calvin ridley kyle pits their backfield's a little more of a question mark. But mike davis did look really good in carolina last year. Forty niners legend. That is mike davis. So we'll see what happens is definitely going to be tough. They got the oc from tennessee. Now they're so they'll be good Hopefully they're just not good when they play the forty niners in december. I mean i still have. They beat the forty niners twenty nine. I know beat the super bowl team. So maybe that's like scarring me and making.

"We are back so if you missed. It wasn't the only person who had some weekend shenanigans. The forty niners not the entire team but it seemed like a few of the teammates. Were out at vegas. Having a good time saw. George kittle smiling and up with travis cousy for the record before you even get any further people like to those two against each other for whatever reason because of yeah. It's so obvious. In evident to no matter when whenever they're around each other or whenever they speak in that comes up they kind of play that down but fan fan in advance brain. It'll be like george. George kettles veteran travis calc- so therefore there's no way that those who can get along that's just not part. Yeah you don't have to have these guys against each other but anyway. So george kittle was air. We saw trae sermon. We also saw stray lance freshly turned twenty one time. I don't know if that's his first time out in vegas who knows but that's the first time on legally in. Yes yes in vegas so great to see you know just out and about having a good time not all fans would agree with that however there were some wild wild takes about that Apparently twenty one year old are not allowed to go out in the summer and have a good time because we all know when we were twenty one we all used to stay inside and sit on our couch the entire time and never ever drink or do anything of the case. What do you. What was your initial. Take when you first saw lance in vegas so first thing is the george kittle and Travis kelsey dynamic so how many how many people on the planet can george kittle really relate to write just being a leak tight end One of the most famous. Nfl players one of the best nfl players. There's only a handful of people that he can relate to in terms of the stuff that they go through. And obviously travis kelce just happens to be one of those guys because they play a similar brand of football players somewhere position kinda came up in the same way play for successful teams and so of course. They're good friends. I'm sure on the field they want to just kick each other's ass but off the field in the summer i bet they enjoy hanging around each other. And that's where this whole tight end. University thing popped up from. Yeah i i like that. As long as you're competing on the field. I i don't really care if you hang out with these guys off the field. I don't need some sort of like budding rivalry or hate between these guys. Even though i feel like some fans really thrive off of that so that was my. Take away with kittle and kelsey now under the trae lance thing. I have zero problem with it. I mean like you said when we were on our young twenties. How many times did we go to vegas. How many times we go out during the weekend. I feel like people when it comes to quarterbacks or nfl players just athletes in general. Just think they gotta be like tunnel visioned with the sport and with perfecting their craft yet when it comes to their own regular lives they always look for an outlet in life. Whether that's going out to vegas or taking medications or partying or whatever. The thing is right. I feel like whenever you like to enjoy ourselves. And i think trae lance is doing the same. He's twenty one i. I'm in vegas. We think legally and just let him have a good time. Just go enjoy himself. I think as long as you don't get in any trouble be able to whatever you want so there was some wild takes out there. I just i didn't care. I had a good time. The thing about this is if you didn't see this you would know and you just because you have access to this. That's the only reason. You're acting that way. Who knows how many times tom brady has been. How many times paid manning went out. How many times all these great players have been even when they were so a lot not a lot of people notice but during the season these players go out if people knew that it doesn't always have to beat to that gronkowski level. But what i've known for a while. I don't know if this is a case for a while there. Thursday nights before the game these players are going out and i'm not saying the forty-ninth specifically but around the nfl thursday night is a night to go out. Do they drink. And they are normal human beings they. They're not normal human beings. I will not say that. They are super talented. Not this day because you have hung you get hung over off of a few beers doesn't mean the six five two hundred eighty pound man is going to have the same effect so silly that little video that even show him with a drink in his hand he just walked in and he's walking around. Yeah so it just felt like people took it way too far and immediately everyone was like met justin field studying and i saw picture. I think he was at like a baseball game this week. It's like yeah these guys have fun. They do their own thing. They should be off season and even during the season. If you're like during the week if you're doing something like by all means just just you know. Just don't get into trouble you know. Just don't be a giant distraction. Go goal of your life. Go have fun and i think people forget that these guys are just normal. You know regular human beings. I like to have a good time as well remember the hockey game. I don't know if his last offseason or two off seasons ago where the mcglinchey kitto like all those like a lot of the offense and they were just pounding beers at the game. Those gray awesome and nobody really said anything like that but again. You said double standard quarterback rookie twenty one year old. Because because i guess maybe is it because he hasn't accomplished anything. I don't know it's very bizarre that he shouldn't be allowed to leave the house and do anything and then even make it worse to compound that add on. Hey will because just it. As soon as i saw the fields thing is like oh he's mad at four hundred and that's obvious hundred percent. The only time. I've ever had an issue is. I don't know if you remember but it was a couple of years ago. Giants packers playoff game. The famous boat picture. O b j sterling. Shepard food the miami the week of a playoff game. I thought that was kind of a big deal right. You're flying out of town. You're going somewhere else playoff game. It's that week like that's when you'd expect to just be a little bit more focused but this offseason like june sixth seventh..

"Gonna grab some man. You do realize my motto has always been when it's right. It's right. What's happening? Thanks for joining us Happy Tuesday. Couple of notes for you, and we got the foreplay at the top of the hour. Delaney Walker is gonna make a appearance at 40. Niners HQ. Talk to him. He's 36. I don't know what he's got left. He didn't play last year, but When he was a 40 Niner. Good blocker, then went to Tennessee and blossomed is a receiver. So it knows everything. A Delaney walker, potentially becoming a 40 Niner. Well. He's a guy that can do both. As you say when he wore number 46. Although he was a wide receiver in college so he can he could catch he just was On the same tight end room is our friend, VD. Vernon Davis. But he could've been highlighted the way Tennessee I mean, he had some years in Tennessee. He was targeting 133 times in 15 games. That's damn your tan a game. And he said he got 94 1 year, but he's also good in line blocker and was Kyle. You wanna You don't wanna chip what you know. What you're going to do. And Jordan Reed last year on he wanted up retiring. I had some good moments and his body was clearly breaking down. But he was not much of a threat to block so opponents knew. You treat him just kind of like a big wide receiver, which Delaney? Hey, could be he could be in line George detached vice first so they could both be in line. They could be on the same side you could line up at H back. You could do a lot of different things with him. Health is going to be the situation because obviously is an older player. As you noted, he's had some injuries. And also 17 minutes away from the time you can make a trade. It's a It's a message Tol the NovaCare complex in Philadelphia and Howie Roseman. I know you like Zach Ertz. John. I do that. We don't need Zach Ertz. We're gonna bring the lady back. Yeah, and Delaney could actually hit the blocking sled in the tight ends. Get out, you know, half hour before practice with coach Emery there. Block, you know, even rushed. Well, he became a better blocker. You got Charlie Woerner, the young guy. S so we'll see where it goes. But Zach Ertz is a name. It's out there as well. Is he gonna be traded? Had one o'clock or one o'clock tomorrow or next week or next month or a few good names. They're cut out there that could possibly get traded. Now that you Away. The cap with it will go on next year's cap. It will not be on this year's capital. So teams are more inclined to make a trade Now. How about Aaron Rodgers job? Oh, yeah, let's get that going again. That's not happening that but you know, like you said, We've all been so focused on wheel that we tried to God forgot about Zach Ertz, and I would say that There's a lot of different ways you can attack this thing, and it depends obviously, hey, makes a few bucks, Certainly not in the neighborhood of Julio Jones. But they've talked a long time about double tight ends. And I like dwelling, and I think Warner's a guy that Z interesting. But it's a different ball game, and I like Delaney Walker I liked when he was here the first time. I don't know what he's got left 36 like you said with the injuries, but the first time around, he was great blocker and an underrated receiver that wasn't used enough. On he can use. You could be outside and you could be a move guy. But now if you're talking about Zach Ertz, that's a guy to me that you know Colin can do a lot of things. You can split him out. Like you said. He's not the in line blocker even close to what George is, but we know it's accurate. I mean, that guy if you can't get Julio Jones Zach Ertz is not a bad runner up to that. I'd like to. I'd like it. I like him. Yeah. What would what do they want back and Philly? What is Roseman want? Um, man, He's obviously a Bay Area guy. He went to Mount a Vista perhaps coached him and Brent Jones had him there as a tight end coach, then on to Stanford. Where he was such a great red zone target and look at his numbers. I mean, Zach Ertz caught more passes that site and anyone in the history of football for a single season, not a great blocker. Isaiah willing blocker. Would be the key there. Mikhail could be looking at his tape and saying, Lou, it's 86 doesn't live very well. Can we teach him to be a blocker? And that we mentioned the three Charlie Wonder rust? Well, the George Daniel Pelham is still hanging around. And Josh Peterson, coach Peterson's kid. They're gonna have to get you know, in line blocking, he'll get better. It's got soft hands. I mean, here's a rookie that someone you may want to see what the practice squad number is gonna be. But I would not be surprised if he wound up there. But that guy is just a natural catcher. The football he he just catches the ball. He easy counting all Different body than Zach. But Zach's got great hands and catches everything. So we'll see that Zeleny Walker was a good 40 Niner. Interesting if they brought him back here, Jeremy Fella, right, ESPN this morning about Zach Ertz and talks on a potential Zach Ertz trade's been ongoing for quite some time, but fairly quiet of late. At least three tight and needy teams have looked into this eagles have made it clear they won't point for nothing in return, making a release unlikely things could pick back up this week, obviously with June one, and that they were talking about with Julio Jones, so I could see something on these actors front. He doesn't block but one of the things that have that has plagued the 40. Niners is red zone efficiency. And for some reason, George Kettle is great about it about everything but hasn't been a great red zone target..

At least he's actually butting with a mallet style butter that we've never seen him. But with Going to get into more, in fact, stick with us for the next segment to coach. Um okay, we'll cover a little bit more things happening in the world of sports. Some interesting things taking place as we gear up for voluntary, OT H and the N F L Garoppolo Show up. With George Kettle for the 40 Niners, and I'm thinking Well, they just picked there. Really top pick right there. First Rounder was a great quarterback. Who knows they're both gonna be. You have fighting for that job. I think this year we'll get into that little bit. 200 laps Coming up it Indy 500, the Indianapolis 500. Always a great sporting event, a spectacular one Another big news item in the world of the NFL. Besides the fact that Aaron Rodgers has not showed up for O T A's, but Julio Jones wants out of Atlanta. This is a big big news story because he's basically been there since day one. Um, where could he land If he, uh if that deal word Ah, take place. Interesting. Um All right. Well, we'll come back. We gotta go to break but stay tuned. Everyone stay on the line Coach. So.

"Love the guy you know, we've we've had him on the show with his wife, how they met it. Stanford's a great stories. A great guy. It would be a financial component. I think they'd love to have him. Jon Embree loved having a wife and a child in Rome. It's just can you afford you know all these? You know my thing right now before I you know, over this time of the year you're already looking at the list of free agents. You've got so many of your own that I think your priority one And what exactly is the salary cap could be at we heard 1 81. And now you don't really know. I think they're trying to pump some of the new TV money into it. And Take a little away from future years to this year to offset it, so you don't have to go so far back, but I love Zach Ertz always have loved him. I think he underachieved this year. I don't think he played as well as he's capable. When they got Goddard. You know, right away. You thought how they're gonna come out. These two guys gotta coax this for the long haul, so I think they would have to pick one over the other and God had got hurt. Last year's well, it's a much better blocker than Zach. But I could definitely see a combination of Zach Ertz and George Kettle on the field together, playing either 12 personality 22 personnel. There's no doubt you know what do you want to come home again? See his mom and dad and all That could be a big part of it. So, yeah, I thought of that right away. The question is, you probably don't want to trade for him and, well, Holly Roseman eventually have to cut him off the roster. Yeah, By the way, he's And I don't know how they're going to do this. I did read this morning that the Colts had offered to second round picks for Carson Wentz. I don't know if that is true or not, but he's got a big cap number that they would obviously take a hit on the dead cap. And then reading this morning as well that if they were to cut Zack Ertz, and I don't think anybody's gonna pick up in $8 million salary for him at this point of his career. They would take another dead cap hit for him. So how much can filly take? Maybe they're just in total rebuild melt mode, and they just want to get rid of these deals. But Uh, It's a lot of money to eat obviously with Earth and went in the same baker. We had him on last week that prominent Asian, he said. It's all B s. You know, money around, but he's an agent, so I do think there's an impediment there. And then, as far as that goes, you could just stretch the contract out and give it to him in a signing bonus, and then you know that you could you know if you get my extension, and I don't know if Kyle like some or not, I think you know the lack of blocking. Uh, you know, will be an issue. But I think he does honestly try. He's just not physically gifted that way. But he is and he just to have him around George. When approved George's route running, I mean, having Jordan Reed around In practice Me Jordan. Reed is an elite route runner at that position. Exactly. You know, he's not don't think he's the right one that Jordan readers but Ping Go up and get the ball. I mean, you know, we're gonna roll your coverage Kittles way or 85 or 86. If you know if you get Zack here, so But again, the finances air just such a. It's so different this year because I think mainly you gotta worry about your own. What he doing? What? Trent Williams. What are you doing with Jason? Read what he doing with Kyle Use? Check what he's doing with TJ Jones. What he did with Carrie Haider Junior. Who else am I forgetting is a few others that I think a Juan Williams are allowed manual mostly. Was a lot of guys. You gotta tend to that, you know, kind of are part of your team. They have been Before you start looking at, you know, poach off of somebody else's roster. But if he becomes the street free agent and they cut him, and then I think there is and I think he would be motivated to come back home. He is a very guy he speaks. Just like you said, no understanding that there are a bunch of guys they need to sign. But if he were to become a free agent, and you looked offensively at this team with whoever's a quarterback, the running backs that you have and then add. Kittel and Earth and I, You and Deebo. You're scaring some people that Yeah. It's nice, and then your your your your need for a third wide receiver is something Kendrick is going to come back as well. Richie James Jr as well. But, you know, I think you play more two tight ends, which is something they did this year, especially with Debo missing so much time and I use being in and out of the lineup, so The issue would be his blocking. Is it as bad as we? You know, it looks at it, but I think they would, you know, crushed Well, he got better as a blocker. He gets out there every day. It's the sled 30 minutes before practice with coach I'm bringing all the tight ends and being Being around. Kittle will help Zach become a better blocker in line blocker and half a body. You know, Lammer trapper. And then you know? Conversely, what does that could do? What George is complete game so I've never heard the 40 Niners talk, but the part of it is he is a Stanford guy, And I think I think the GM went to Stanford..

"Outside in a field goal attempt is gonna know all those things and Maura our weekly conversation. With the great Mike Pereira. How are you? I'm like, really Well, I'm here in San Francisco to at UCSF had a little check up on my back. The doctor looked at and said, Hey, it's awful. Now go back to play golf and shut up. So I headed back to Sacramento, and I'll try again to play golf on Wednesday. But that's good news. And the doctor says Just get back to Sacramento. You don't need surgery. I'm happy. I'm happy that's good. I'm a lot happier. Probably. I'm happier than the officiating department in the NFL is right now to tell you the truth. So what You think yesterday we heard the $111 sideline, but there were several Which is what did you think of Shepherd's crew? I mean, I mean, it's to me, uh, the my problem with this is a couple things number one. The game was appreciated in a different standard at a different level than it was two weeks ago. I mean, two weeks ago, and at least the NFC championship game, those things that were being called Yesterday. We're not being called in that game, and that's a problem. I mean, that's a problem in terms of consistency. That is always there. But to me if it's that different from two weeks ago to yesterday, Then it is an issue and I also have a problem with the pass interference rule because on the long pass down the sideline, the interference called on on the past to Evans. That's not a foul. I mean, that's tangled feet. It is the classic definition of tangled feet. Both players are looking back for the ball. They trip, their feet tangle, and Evans went down, so it's not a foul. So what does it become? I don't remember the length of the penalty. 34 35 30 44 yard penalty. Where is in college? That would have been a 15 yard maximum penalty, which I think is a better rule and then the the defensive holding call that took away the interception. That's not a foul. I mean, let's just disregard as to whether or not I think it was Breeland if I'm not mistaken, But this regard as to whether or not no Clark possibly after yet, But anyway, this regard the the fact of whether or not it is. Ah, hold or whether than that that Evans just kind of You know, almost manhandled him. It's a two step dropping a quick pass to another receiver. I mean that you have to go through a two step process. If you're an official, you look back. You see the hole you look back. And if the ball's already been thrown, it's not a found. It was impossible for that to be a foul on a two step drop, Quick pass that ended up being deflected. I mean and so You look at those What I consider mistake's that the officials made in the in the first half and you combine them with the actual the mistakes that the Chiefs made. I mean, you know, the field goal is I mean that that was not number 17. It was number one, not number 20. It was number 17 that we clearly lined up. And let's and let's not, and that's again and and that was my problem with the crew is that How do you miss that? I mean, it's wide open on your side of the field. I mean, you know the number. You must know the number because it's your person so You know, and that makes you look bad. Even though it was clearly a penalty. It just makes you look bad, So I just feel that it was unfortunate that the game was officiated. At a different standard from two weeks before I'm not necessarily an advocate for let them play, but on the other hand that calls that were made, not all of them. But a couple of the calls that were made were clearly I hate to use ticky tack, but they were. They were ticky tack. And then the pass interference play the Big one. The 34 yard passing if it's to me, was was, It was a just a Incorrect call. My Barry's Jonas. We're talking obviously about what happened in the Super Bowl yesterday them in really the second quarter where they got the 90 yards. I knew that rule and I was on my couch with probably 45. Tito's Probably would like you were. I'm not sure where you watch the game. But like you said, it was. We were yelling back and forth in our house because that's what I said. I said they just they tangled their feet and then it looks like Evans kind of sold it a little bit. You kind of jump to the ground because he figured we try to sell this thing, and maybe he fooled the official. That's that's the only thing I can see there. When you watch the official he doesn't seem to react immediately. I mean, he just continues to pay back and follow the play, which he has to do, because also, he has to figure out catch ability. Was it catchable in it? It would have been if it would have been if Evans didn't stumble and go down, So you've got a factor in that, but You know, then you look at the flag that does finally come in. And you know the the I mean, it looks like it's pass interference. And you know when I had you, you listen to the broadcast and Promo said that's clearly passing her parents and jeans territory really only talked about the catch ability of the past because that's what Rome Oh, question, But, um, yeah, it's just It's you know, and it's It's just It's amazing for me because I mean, I think most people if you're not a Kansas City fan, and I can't wait to go on a radio show it to a clock to 30 this afternoon in Kansas City E mean, they're most people, you know, probably still enjoyed watching the game and enjoy watching Tom Brady win number seven. And and I just didn't enjoy the game at all. I mean, I just because of what happened in the first half I It's like took me back. It took me back to the fifth. I was if I was The head of officiating. Still, that took me back to what I would feel like last night and what I would feel like today and it wouldn't be good. I mean, I knew that they were going. I knew there would be bridges to be mended, and that's basically what the Chiefs and you know, you can say. Well, let's go back to the Niners game last year, and the Chiefs manhandled the nine years they came into the game. The teeth did haven't practically the most defensive holding and deep end defensive pass interference. Penalties called against them. And yet in the Super Bowl last year against the Niners, none were called. So did they get the benefit last year of let him play type attitude and and and then obviously not, you can go back and say that and J all even at, But that's B s. I mean, You know to me that history and it all boils down to what happened yesterday, and I just honestly I just didn't enjoy the game. Yeah, we didn't either. And the broadcast was part of it, to be honest with you, But I hear what you're saying. And just a Kansas City didn't play. Well. I thought they were not well coach. The game management was poor. I'm going back to last year. They did call. You know the offensive P I on George Kettle right before halftime when he pushed off against Daniel Sorenson and that was a big play caused the 40 Niners of field goal and they play at the end of the game when they hit the last play. Eric Fisher, We thought was clearly holding Nick Bosa, and they didn't get that flank. So I didn't I didn't agree with you on that one. By the way, way. Remember the conversation? We're ago. I didn't think it was a foul but a ticky tack foul. Right. So when you know a lot of times when you go into a game in baseball and my crew co so go to this on Giants baseball is giving you a a scouting report. On the different balls and strikes the plate umpire will have from game to game. Are we a little bit like that in the NFL Mike, where Vina Bitches crew is different than Scheffer's crew and Consistency is what we want..

"All right. I was fun, man. I feel I feel like we were classed up by Dick for meal too. Yeah, Me too. You start Waterboy chime in on our text read Andy Reid with a bye week is dangerous. Yeah, I don't disagree. He is he is, but so is Tom Brady. But Tommy got him with a bye week back and forth with the aid. Of course, his QB. Of course. The guy riding the bus was Don McNabb Yeah. Donna McNab, right. All this talk about the quarterbacks whenever meal said. I got on the bus with Kurt Warner. Will wash. Got on the bus with Joe Montana. Andy Reid got on the bus with Pat Mahomes Does that now make you want to get on the bus with Shawn Watson or Jimmy G? Come on, man, we go. We're going back to this. Everything was going so well, everything was going so we're having a nice cabernet with don't somewhere like we're talking about pleasant things long lives, healthy lifestyles, wine and being Italian always said Now you're talking about Shawn and I gotta lose. Nicki boasts again so Do a good step him talking. Maybe one have a stake in a Vermeule cab. Been a while since I've had a good steak. Actually, I'm doing great. I said that to Candace over the weekend, So I'm looking for a steak. It's point what we talked about in New York steak filet. What are we looking for? Everybody marbled rib eye. You take the marble rib eye. I might go with a nice New York and we sit down like gentlemen with a stake in a cab for sure. And have her meal. Bring the wine, right? Yes, indeed. All right. Well, that was fun, man. And thanks to every meal for popping on and Yeah, the tentacles that just the amazing football life of this guy, in fact, him on many times to like we've had a lot of Ramiele hits over the years Now, I did a so my buddy coach. Jim is a member of this thing called the French Club. This is super private lunch club in San Francisco. Polly, Gentlemen on Lee. Gentlemen. It sounds assumes you involved. The French were going to get very formally. And we did. One word for meal was the honored guest and he provided the wine. He and Carmen It was just it was it was it was a gentleman fest. Uh, two. Gentlemen, they were standing up in this white tablecloth showing their wines and just, you know, I know it's bad form for like the real wine kind of sores to ever like get affected by the actual alcoholic You don't ever want to, like, show that you're like capital buzz or anything like that. But I got to imagine like when you've got a gentleman showdown between Carmen Policy and Dick from it like, because I know right now, like Carmen Policy is not going to get out poured Libra meal and for me it was not going to get out poured by Carmen, So at the end of that whole show down someone's walking out. With the buzz calling an uber You are absolutely right. And don Draper was the sort of the idol of how to just how to booze it up and hold it right. If you're going to go out when you got it, If you're gonna whack down a few vodka martinis with your clams at lunch, Murph, you better be able to keep it down. Rarely Did Draper ever just, you know, wind up sloppy and forever a couple of times Now, when he moved into that little apartment, he fell on some hard times. Remember, he had the neighbors the girl in the hallway taking care of him. Memories. Porn is booze in the morning not going to work and that he was bottoming out that bottoming out bottoms his gentlemanly way there. Yeah, anyway, But you're right. Those two gentlemen walked out proud, even though they might have been, you know, and I needed to correct myself. I tried. It was an ill advised riff I had to. I was trying to, um Revived that the memory that episode were Draper and Sterling. Go out for lunch. It was after Sterling made a pass at Draper's wife. So we got him totally hammered. And they were eating oysters. Remember, he was again bring us another plate of oysters like he was looking to get sterling sick. And then he did remember, they went to the office. The elevator was out there. Let me tell you for meal in policy did not do that. No, no, no. No. All right, cooler, a concept. How about the guy making the rounds? George Kittle, George Kendall. No, His fascination with pro wrestling is well documented. As is my lack of fascination with pro wrestling. I'm not a pro wrestling guy, but I do you know, I admire those who enjoy it. I believe Copes and Waterboy count as pro wrestling heads once they had no But you you have more of a bio of stone cold Steve Austin than I do. He was big. When I was a kid. I used to watch it when I was 11 and 12. So for a guy like Kittle, who's close to you and age copes. The idea of a stone Cold office in of Cameo in your Life would be exciting, Huge. So this is what happened. He's on ESPN first take and they surprised him with stone cold. Steve Austin. Why is stone cold? Steve Austin when your favorites Stone, Cole. I mean, he's the man, I think, honestly, my favorite attributes about all you gotta be kidding me. Right now, I think is best after his night. You might have the best hands and wrestling from all those beers and he could catch so I gotta I gotta get on the judge machine with you, My guy. Are you kidding me? Right now? Oh, Uh huh. Backwards, so they surprised him with stone. Cold keeps comes. Give me a quick bio or water boy there. What? How would you describe the stone Cold Steve Austin career Texas Rattlesnake. He's like one of the most bad ass wrestlers like, didn't give a damn about anybody talked a lot of smack, and his whole thing was, he would break two beers together and pour him over his face. Okay. Like he was. He was a big beer drinker in the wings. John Belushi type of off the forehead type of hand. Not so much. No. Then we crashed the two beers together Much more bad ass than pollution for Madison Bumgarner. The playoff lose exactly like that. Okay? Very hard. Madison, Bumgarner, and here's part two Kittel and Stone cold talking ball and beer here, man. You know, you know what? When I when I was playing football in college, you know it was a running back in their movement linebacker because they said I was too slow. Then, at the next level of North Texas state. They moved me the weak side defensive end and I always felt that I should have been a damn tide in because and I got some hands on me. I could catch anything. I think I catch beer's better than a football, but nonetheless, man, I'm not at your level but damn close. We could practice together. If you want. I can have someone throw some beers at us, and I'll be happy to drink some with you as well. Because Yeah, that's that's where my favorite parts Oh, this'll hit me. This is George Kettle in his comfort zone here, Kendall having like a Fanboy moment here, It's cool. ESPN first take I like Stone Cold's cadence to like the cadence of a stone cold Steve Austin. His whole thing is, he'll run his mouth about a whole bunch of Bs. And then he'll say, that's the bottom line because Stone cold said, So that's his. That's his whole thing. It's a great great drama. Last one from Kittel and Stone cold about driving beer trucks here you teach me how to drive a beer truck through that looks pretty fun. You know, One of my great talents was being able to drive anything on wills. And now as we proved with this season of straight up, Steve Austin, anything on water and I didn't even have that stick of self confidence is you speak so highly of so send me a stick of that..

"But even with you're supposed to say thank you for the compliment. That's the ultimate compliment. Come on. What's going on, George here? I mean, I'm I'm throwing out horrible bouquets here. I appreciate it now. I listen. Um I don't I don't take on the most. You know, I don't I love compliments. I appreciate that, But I said, I just like to work on as long as the my teammates and then the rest of league respects where I'm playing the game. I'm doing all right. What's the background there? You spent no time on the background there. During the peace next to me, but no, you got it like the shades were down. Is that a like something's hanging up over your shoulder there. You're that's my first problem, Jersey. Little tilt. It tilts the camera that way. Let me see what that That's it. Okay. Anything else in there? That's not a compliment, Dan. I wasn't right. I'm moving house. And so how about my jerseys? Friend? There's a warrant here for like 12 jerseys from guys that like in the NFL, so All those will be friendly at some point. Did anybody say no to you? When you asked for Jersey? Hold a saw. Let them wear of Mm hmm. A couple. So that's pretty fun too. Well, who? Who did you get? That might surprise me. Well, I might surprise you. I traded jerseys with Mike Evans of the Pro Bowl. That was pretty fun. Let's see Who else Adrian Claiborne. He's in Iowa guy, and then the rest of them are basically tight ends. I just got a wall of tight ends. I got body Wagner, Chris McCaffrey a pop, but, Yeah, I mean, I'm like 10 Titans. I'd like to trade with every single time and that I play because I love the position. I love everybody that plays it. Where you gonna watch the game? Who I think my house whether my wife tells me to She wanted with you. Yeah. I mean, my whole family lives in national soul probably watched together. Does she get nervous? What's she like when you're playing? Um, let's see, She's usually very happy. And she she loves football shadows watching feels Beeman stands. I think if I get tackled she else it may I couldn't hear that occasionally. From the stand. She's yelling at you. Oh, yeah, yeah, I'll try not to get back. I know you're making a pitch with bold 24 by Gatorade. So Phyllis in Who finally all 24 gator that got it right here with me. You could see it all around product placement. It's natural, right? Yeah, I'm really excited for Gator it because it's a part that I've used my entire life since being a little kid. Now, remember, drink Gatorade after like, my my little peewee football games, and so being a chance to work with him is God Dream come true like I never did You think that this was a possibility, but the ball 24. It's delicious. It's new. It's amazing. Really think my favorite part of it. It's It's healthier and it's made of water going water and no artificial flavors or sweeteners and S everything like that, And it allows me to be. I could drink whatever I want, because it is healthier and afterward about anything and just allows me to be the best after that could be every single day. And I'll give you another compliment. I think Grant could have delivered it that way. I think you did a great job delivering that better than growing. Could've I appreciate that. You could take that up with him. I don't know if he'll agree with you, but he's okay. But since you love all tight ends, you gotta pick one tight end to win the Super Bowl. Which tight end you want to win the Super Bowl? Destroyed, Want to win and I want the both of what? I wanted both that 150 yards and two touchdowns and that's very unlikely, George. It's very unlikely that both will win I've seen that is unlikely it is that no, that'd be tough. But, um, say this is my thinking then And you could tell me from wrong like she's really good. They're clicking right now. Often, Stevie look Good holding. Poli, Would you write this down, Georges, give me some real deep insights. The Chiefs are really good, and they're clicking clicking and the Buccaneers that Tom Brady and I just don't know how to ever go against operating in the playoffs and suitable. Have you had a conversation with Tom? No, I never had the opportunity plan. Oh, well See. Talked about it through in one time I was I dropped my phone, but he d and me and I drive over pack. Oh, yeah. You had your moment. Well, there's always Yeah. Sorry about them. Hey, thanks for joining us is always hope The ankle is healing well and thanks for joining us. Thanks, Dan. Appreciate coming on. That's George Kettle nine holes, Niners tight end and got shut down. Then week eight with an injury at Sam. Yes. Well, if the NFL ahead of all time guy, good guy to hang out with team he would be he'd be up there. I think he would be. He'd be fun. There's a couple of things like when he was at the scouting combine. He only had a playlist that featured Rianna. Rihanna. That's all. He would be listening to it. The NFL combine Uh, so not that, you know, you may care about that. And he loves Panda Express. I know, then to George Just like pretty. Yeah, He's character. Yes, He's fun, but he's really good and the one thing is with tight ends. Nowadays. We tend to look at them and want to know how good they are as a receiver. And that's why Kelsey stands out. But George Kettle is as good a blocker as any tight end in football, if not the best blocker and you have to want to do that. But I think with George Kittle, he does block like drunken. He catches like Kelsey. Yes, McLovin. So the debate over here is who's gonna end up with a better legacy. Rob Gronkowski or Travis Kelsey? Not where they are now. But when it's all said and done, I think drunk will because he got it. He was the first to kind of do it in the modern era with tight ends. And you do it with the Patriots to do it on a big stage. Here he is in the Super Bowl again. He's a character. He put up some really monster numbers. He was different, though, than Kelsey. Kelsey is to me. He's an elite athlete as far as his ability to run catch size speed. Grant could surprise you. At times. I think with his ability to get down the field and you know when you consider and you go back when he had the back issue when he was in college, and they didn't really know how good he was going to be. The Patriots took a chance on and all the injuries that he's had. I mean, it's amazing that he's still playing football. I and gonna be in a Super Bowl. Yes, Bone Gracko ahead. 566 catches in his career. He did have 86 touchdowns. Kelsey's already by him and catches and it's gonna fly by him the next three years and that offense, But doesn't it feel like When you ask the average person who's the greatest head involve time Grok pops in your head because of how spectacular he was, How physical and what a character is. He's really famous like kids know who he is. Kids don't know who Travis Kelsey is. Maybe about awareness and famous.

"Awesome. The energy that he brings is unmatched and I know he's such a great leader, so I know that the Jets fans should be incredibly happy. I know a couple guys in the jet's already told me how you know how lucky you are to have a coach like that. So they're gonna They're gonna enjoy him on. They're gonna want to football games. You know, Coach dollars. Incredible life. They know he had the floor with him. He's gonna be a great office according to form. It's just gonna be great season for them, and I'm happy for them. You know, you never wanna lose coaches like that. But when they can move on and go up a little bit, it's awesome. It's great again, George Fiddle with me here. I look forward to that. And George is with us on behalf of the lasting cologne quality scent of new Old Spice Dynasty which is available at Target. Tell us about the program, George Um, this is something I'm really excited actually working with, because I think the message that they're sitting this year is awesome. And it's easy connect to, um you know, like this Pastor's. It's been really used to be our own harshest critic. No, you wake up every single day instead of going to work. You put on sweat pants and a blazer and you go to work. Um, you know you're on soon calls all day, so it's kind of hard, you know, Stay in your routine. So what The old spice is doing right now is giving you confidence. You know, it's the confidence is now ready for anything. It's Small, good, feel good play good, and it's just giving you the conference. You have to worry about anything else. You just put your you put your deodorant on to do Dynasty which smells like alone, which is pretty awesome. I got some right next to me. Small great right now greeting to study, you know, but just gives guys conference going to anything that any that they're doing. And you're not gonna worry about you know whether they're sweating how they smell a small, great They could do anything that they want and also All right. Move on from that you transition into advertisements so quickly and so efficiently. I think you're still part of me. And then halfway through it on the field. I realize you're talking about progressive. That's absolutely It's like you've been doing this for a while. Well, I mean, a 30 years and look, here's what I can't do. I can't drag a linebacker like 30 yards downfield on my back as I've seen you do. I can't block guys into the end zone like you can. And I've never caught 1400 yards with of of anything in the National Football League, So I do my thing. And you do yours and I really enjoy watching you play and I've enjoyed this time. Thank you. I wish I could smell you to verify what you say. But I'll take your word for it. And thank you very much for this time here today have a terrific off season. We'll see on the field as soon as possible. Thanks, Bernie. I appreciate it, man. Take care. Good to talk to you. That's George Kettle from the 40. Niners. It is true. I mean that sincerely. My favorite position in football is the blocking tight end. Like the Titan who does both. There's so few, like football is This is going to sound ridiculous to say right. But like basketball is a sport. Where you do two things. You play offense and you play defense Baseball. With the exception of the designated hitter. I guess the pitcher is a sport where you know you bat and your field in football. It's so specialized. Everyone kind of does one thing. I love the tight ends going back to again. I'm a child of the seventies, so I don't go back to Ditka as a player or John Mackey. I know everything about them, but I didn't watch them play, but the great tight ends of my youth. Dave Casper. Raymond Berry. Um uh, that Segway then what? The Kellen Winslow came along. He wasn't as much of a blocker. He was really the first that I recall. Just pure great receiver at that position. He was an unbelievable player. And then obviously it's gone on and on. And Gronk has taken that toe a whole other level. And then Kelsey is more of a receiver. That he is a blocker, but he can block it. But this guy, kid, Eliza Beast Just an absolute beast, and I love watching him play. Okay, So that was good are Super Bowl coverage will continue. But the green list is on the way here in just a second. I'm going to give you the green list and 15 seconds and I promise you're going to love it. "Which is interesting, because Brad Holmes, who is their new GM, their eyes from the Rams, she worked with the ranch for years and years and years and years and years and years and years, even go back to the ST Louis days, guys been around that organization forever. So he's been obviously very involved in the golf deal when he checked off back. They also brought in John Dorsey over the weekend. Who's got his fingerprints all over. Certainly what is going on in Cleveland, and he got iced right away there with the flying J. Jimmy has limb and also Kansas City's roster. Beach to a lot of great things getting the homes but a lot of the people on the chief's roster that air dominating right now John Dorsey drafted there, so I don't know what his role is there, but we'll get into it. But in any circumstance, John, I wholeheartedly disagree with you. I'm not trading Nick Bosa. Otherwise I'm gonna go out and get another Nick both. So where do I get a neck? Bosa Quarterbacks. You got to be on the market to some degree artist. Hang with Garoppolo went on to a damn thing. I'm not trading Nick Bosa. I'm not trading Fred Warner, and I'm not trading George Kettle. They are nonstarters. For May. I'd give up more draft picks. I would you. No, It's not like the NBA with salaries have to match you don't have to do that. I'm not giving up any of those three. Anybody else on the roster we can engage in conversation with unless I signed Trent Williams back then I'm not trading him either. But anybody else besides those three and that those three to me or completely untouchable? I'm not trading that. The only reason I said it is because how many times I can't really think of it. Can you get a quarterback of the age of 25? As good as he is, He's your quarterback for the next 10 years. You don't have to worry about the position and he is hate the word, but we use it all the time. He is elite. He is one of the top five quarterbacks in this game. And he can run it. He can throw it. He can win a shoot out for you for the top five most efficient offense is where the final four You gotta score points. I love Nick BOS I love Fred Warner. But if I give up one of those guys, I think I can find a linebacker easier than the Sean John Watson. I think I can find a pass rusher and he's elite elite elite elite. He might be a Hall of Famer. But the Sean Watson's a Hall of Famer the most important position you can have. I don't agree with that. I think George Kettles a better football player than to Shawn, Watch the Knick. Bos is a better football player. That is Shawn Watson. Fred Warner's a better football player than short. If you weigh the position, you think that I understand what you're saying, but I'm not gonna do it some other way. And you mentioned you know young quarterbacks. They don't become available because you have a franchise tag on the franchise tag. Really. What it was put in for was to protect Pat Bowlen, which John Elway it's called The John Elway will really On to your point. This scenario came up with L Davis years ago, and it always bring up You know, I got job, Rose. L wouldn't give me Elway. You know when Elway pulled the power play With the Earth's A's and where they babies still in Baltimore, then they're involved. It was a long time our calls, and they got Christian in a state of the art left tackle and some of the draft picks, But Elway so I was in that train. Oh, John Elway is a raider. You know much what? He loved that and he brought it up. I could have had Elway could handle way. Hit the documentary, Right. Welcome into something he never mentioned to me ever ever was that Holly long had to go on the trade. And he had never brought that up. But the way it was presented by some agents that were involved in an Elway's agent. Is that al wouldn't trade Howie Long and I could see were now going back on it Should he have Maybe. Maybe not. Elway didn't went to late in his career. How he was ah, centerpiece of a great defense that one of the championship right away, So maybe that's debatable. But you just You can't do it. It breaks your heart and I would put Bosa In that same category. You know, maybe time would say you could should have done that. I would not do that. I don't think of the same team. You no longer have the gold rush. He's a guy you drafted number two. Overall, You developed him. I don't care that he's sorry He's going to come back. They come back off a CL so I just wouldn't do it. I go get somebody else. And right now I'm gonna love watching is gonna be available. You know, Matthew Stafford's the guy. We'll talk to the day Burkett from the Detroit Free Press about you know what you have to give up to get him, But I I don't agree with that. I would not trade Bosa. I would not Trade Warner. I would not trade Kittle. It does not mean you can't put a package together to get watching. Other teams will probably give up more. You get him? I just would not trade any of those of even if you did it. You know what if he did it straight up? No, that we could have a discussion. If I don't have to give you three extra draft picks or two extra draft picks, it would not be Bosa. The other one's possibly if that's it. If it's just a one on one trade player for player, I still would be reluctant to do that. I don't know, you know, but they're not gonna do that. They're gonna wind up getting a lot more in return than just a player for player trade. All right. Like you said, We'll talk about the Matthew Stafford situation that could be realistic. David Birkett from the free Press. In Detroit. As you said, he's written a list about it, and we'll get the inside on why they came to a mutual decision to trade Matthew Stafford the offseason we'll do it next. Only here on the SportsCenter..

"I don't think I want to want to give up George Kettle or your friend Warner in front. Warner's even in a position where the Texans grab him. You're you know, there's if you're include him in some sort of trade. You know, he's not going to step on. The field without a new contract that's gonna pay in 15, plus a year 15 million plus a year. So doesn't make sense. Even for the Texans Toe Get a guy who's Ah high price guys, so I don't know It's a difficult one. But I mean, my recommendation would be and what I would think would happen is if the Texas make that decision that you know this isn't going to be something that they can work their way through. 40. Niners got to be on the phone calling on the phone and have to see if something is doable. And then from there, I think a lot of it has to do with out what other teams are offering because other teams have more to offer the Texans and draft picks in the 40. Niners. D O obviously, to Sean starts to because of the no trade clause, But let's let's let's step back from it from a minute. Because because I also remember a few months ago, you you're one of the few that That I think if backed into a corner, said a couple of months ago. I think that maybe somebody other than Garoppolo will be the starter week one. Well, how is that developed over the next couple of months, and what's your sort of overall view on it now? Yeah, It definitely was what I was thinking And I think what happened in you heard it late in the season and from both tile CNN in, uh, John Lynch was that they both came out and stated, And we expect Jimmy Garoppolo to be the starting quarterback, and I think they had just a little bit because of a situation like this. If the Shawn Watson were to fall in their laps, say it's really important for the Texans to get him out of the Out of the conference over into the NFC, But I think what probably happened was you look at it and you go. Okay? If not Jimmy Garoppolo. Then who and what's the price to get a quarterback that you're gonna want? Who can step in? What's the price in money? What's the price and draft picks? And just how does it set your team up? And so I think what happened was after after doing some of the initial due diligence, the thought within the organization became. It's just not gonna make sense. We we can't do it. So you know are they 100% committed to Jimmy Garoppolo next season? No, but I think they're pretty darn close to it, and they certainly want to They certainly want to send that message to Garoppolo before the start of the offseason that Hey, we trust in you. You know the old thing, right? I'm your our quarterback until you're not our quarterback, But you don't ever want to send that message that this guy isn't your quarterback without knowing for sure. Uh, that you can. You can do something better. So just from a confidence standpoint for is standing within the organization you really Do you have to send that match a message that he's coming back, But I think I think, however you and I cut this thing up and look at it and toss around the ideas. Remember now late in the season, and I heard you was going heading into December. There was a possibility for theirs could be selecting like five or six. Sure, and then was a couple wins. You know, now it became their selecting 12. And so that that's a lot right there where you cannot. You simply cannot go into a draft at number 12 banking on getting the quarterback that's gonna be your quarterback for the next dozen years. By the way before we leave this one entirely..

"Am doing great Arias. We're doing great. We're doing great. By the way. Not only not only did Fred Warner not only his friend, Warner all pro, but Aaron Rodgers did have it right. As far as the voting is concerned, Friend Warner got 39. Bobby Wagner, 35, Darius Leonard 18. So Fred Warners and all pro and he was voted top linebacker. Pretty good. Very good. And it boy, does that my sheriff that comes a really good time for the 40 Niners Because now I think we've talked about this. After the third year on your initial contract, you can become eligible for a new deal. And this is the exact same situation that George Kettle in the 40 Niners were in a year ago, kid all ended up signing a deal for about 15 year. And I gotta believe that's going to be a very similar number that Fred Warner will get going into his fourth and final year of the contract. And you know, I would suspect it. The advisers to Fred Warner. Are telling him that there's no way you should step on the field and take any risk until you get that kind of security. So we'll see if red warning light in the same way that candle did. I would think he would another both young, smart leaders that Uh, you know, Art's all about themselves. They're They're just really good teammates, good players. They they're basically everything you want in a player on the field off the field. And so, you know, Warner. I'm sure we'll be taking part in activities and meetings and and continuing to be a leader. But, uh, you have the same pattern holds. You know, shortly before the 40 hours, are scheduled to get on the field and put pads on. Maybe there will be a new deal for Fred Warner to keep him around for the long term as well. Yeah, you brought that up all last offseason with George and you ask George point blank several times, and, um, he wound up signing right before the phrase he had so I could run through people's faces. Hard to write on somebody's face. If it's gonna, you know, knock your wallet out of your pocketbook. So I hear you the question would be And I ask this with the George deal and that they'd went. They wound up getting him new money. But I guess Fred's gonna jump from under a million won 9 20 or something up. You know, because of the things he had in his contract is Ricky Deal About two million this year, Matt Do they have to give him new money this year or could they signed him to an extension that would take effect and the 2022 year or do you think he's gonna insist on a new money this year? Well, it's all about the guaranteed money. You know, the fully guaranteed. Uh, you know, he's a smart enough guy that he would know you kind of where Where we are, as far as the entire NFL at the salary cap. So you know, I'm sure he will work with the 40 Niners. He and his records representational work with three hours as much as they can, But, yeah, they're certainly ways where You know, he'll get sun up front money, But there are ways to trigger that deal so that you know it's it's fully guaranteed. But maybe the payouts come later. And in any case, the upfront money he gets would be spread out for camp purposes over four or five years. So you know there's a way To make both sides happy. You know, T give him the long term security he wants And for the 40 Niners did not get crushed on the salary cap ear one because next year in 2022, I would fully suspect that that capital rise significantly. You know, this will be This year. 2021 will be the first year that the salary cap has ever fallen, and I would think that with new media deals coming in, and, you know, let's hope that fan's air safely back in NFL stadiums this coming season. That the revenues will will greatly increase and then the salary cap will be on the rise once again. Let me a good journalist. Obviously talking. 40. Niners offseason Fred Warner named first Team All Pro got the most votes among linebackers Trent Williams got the third most votes among left tackles. He had seven David back tiara Gear bowls. Or the 1st and 2nd team tackles. There were some reports that the 40 Niners in Trent Williams have already started talking. What your thoughts. Yeah. I mean, I think that he's one of those guys that they don't want him to hit the open market. Um, he is kind of interesting in his exit interview. Yeah. He talked about his curiosity of seeing what a top flight left tackle me. What's what somebody worth in his level? Because, you know, when you look at it, it's crazy. And he was 100% correct. You It's crazy that there's never been an offensive tackle hit the market in the prime of his career, and you look at you know the all decade selections of the 2000 and 2010. There's been some trades. Jason Peters left from the bills to the Eagles. There've been some other movement with, say, Orlando Pace and Willie Roaf very late in their careers, But in all decade type left tackle such as Joe Seeley, Uh, those guys They get locked in and they don't move and may be there. You know, maybe like Walter Jones and in Orlando Pace, maybe they get franchised some, but if you have a left tackle You don't let him go..

Final 53-man roster projections for all 32 NFL teams

"We're to get into the fifty three man roster. So today, we're going to make some projections I did a roster projection heading into training camp was on July twenty seven I had Jalen Hurd making the team I had Sean Coleman making the team. I had a few other players that they're just not going to make the team for whatever reason. So we're going to do that again today after trying to cap after all the news after everything we've seen and read and it will let's just compare to see what's changed since. So start with the first things first quarterback, Jimmy, Garoppolo, nick, mullins, CJ, Beathard I think they all make the roster I. Don't think that that's going to be very you know very controversial. It should be. I mean yeah. I I. Agree I all three of them making the roster as well. Especially, this season with Cova did I imagine that most teams will try to carry three quarterbacks if they can especially just given you know you never know. What happens if Garoppolo or mullins or you know they were to test positive or whatever the case is right and they were mistime than having Beth who understands the system? He's not great by any means just having them in the building is going to be advantage. Advantageous this season. I made this comment to someone else earlier Beth. `Red to George Kettle is Kinda of like you know James Jones or Mike Miller was. and. Lebron he's like teams back in the day. He used to have like those guys like travel with him. I think CJ beathard and George kind of like that George must have somewhere in his contract that Caesar method must be on the roster wherever he is. Those our buddy buddy but jokes, apart I I think all three of them will will make the team. So that's funny. You say that because Caitlin Beth one throwing to kill this off season for the most part it wasn't. Garoppolo. So maybe there is this weird clause in the contract right? I mean I feel like I could make a stronger argument where you carry two quarterbacks as opposed to three just playing the odds last year I can understand it as you know Garoppolo is coming off an injury. So you want to just protect your quarterback you WanNa make sure that you know united last minute fishing for a quarterback but you know he's out there he looks comfortable. No knee brace. In just in this situation I just can't understand a situation where. What are the odds that your third quarterback plays a snap in the regular season game just play the is I imagine that's less than ten percent very, very low at imagine. Right if we're going to do that, yet are the likelihood of a quarterback testing positive for having that whole situation happened shared night. There's a possibility that can happen without. It'd be a risk that I'd be willing to take, and I would much rather have you know a position player as opposed to you know a third string quarterback that major. May Not like the is that he throws a pass on likely and he's not going to help you in special teams or anything but that's I mean that's a Shanahan's ways and I don't see that changing I. Wonder if that will change you know this year with mullins and method both moans is a restricted free agent, right? Yeah. MULLENS will be back. He's restricted free agent. CJ BEATHARD is directed So hopefully, this is the last we've seen of method. CONHAM. I. Hope they don't some deal but Yeah it's tough. Especially, you know when you're having. Debates over other positions trying to like squeeze some other guy and you've got who's affected taking roster spot and like you mentioned, what are the odds that he plays right? but just given. Kyle and where they draft method and what they're trying to do I think they're gonNA, they're gonNA keep him on the roster rather than just swallow their pride and cut him. So both said before the pod before we hit record, this is what we think is going to happen not necessarily what we would do if you were in charge fifty, three man roster so.
