"Kicks in the mail that are consequential? Oh, my God, I mean, Look That I'm making a joke right now. But let's dial it back and let's be serious. What's wrong with this guy? What's going on. I mean, I know that he is the king of gaffes, and he's always done weird things. This is I wouldn't call this creepy, although, although the New York Post is calling it creepy. But There's something something not right about this. This was as he was taking questions about the bipartisan Um, deal for infrastructure. That's less than a trillion dollars, and it's pretty much dead on arrival. Republicans have agreed to it, but it's dead on arrival because Um, well, it's quite simple. Nancy Pelosi. Thank you, George flight for sacrificing your shell for us. You know that Nancy Pelosi Nancy Pelosi is said, and this is good gets wonkish and I apologize. Um, when it goes when it goes back to the house because it will now and they have what's known as reconciliation. She's saying, Oh, no in reconciliation. We're not leaving it, as is so the deal that was worked out by the Senate and Republicans and Democrats together. No, it's not going to. It's not going to pass. But anyway, Joe Biden came out and took a victory lap and said, Hey, we got it. We got it. But then he started this wacky whispering. Listen to what he said. Not only is it wacky because he whispered But listen to what he said about employers having trouble. Getting workers. Why would I not before it? Employers can't find workers. I said, Yeah, pay them more. Oh, yeah, You're a real hero when it's somebody else's money, right? Pay them more. Danny. Pay them more. What do you care? It's not your money. And where's the money going to come from? And then if we pay them more, you know, this is that typical will pay them more. Okay, So So what's the the employer? The entrepreneur going to lose money? Well, they have to raise their prices for their goods and services. Oh, Oh. Then we have inflation that all of a sudden you'll fix that problem. This is classic Three Stooges. The Democrats and the Stooges. Create the problem and then present yourselves as the experts to fix it. Democrats do it all the time. Speaking of problems. Shall we discuss Sheldon? Only whites in the house? Rhode Island Senator. I mean, we are going to get to the other important news of the day, which is Kamala Harris is on her way to the southern border. We watched your board the plane earlier. Yeah. Oh, yeah, she's going to a spot of the border. Where there are no problems. But anyway Oh, she had to remind Joe yesterday. Danny did I don't know if you saw this Danny. She had to remind Joe when he was doing that creepy Q and a when he was whispering. Because he hadn't discussed the situation in Florida. The collapse of the condo, she had to remind him to address it as he was walking away from the podium. Folks. This is a guy who's not in complete control of his faculties. You said. If it was anyone else other than the current president, United States that this would be front page everywhere. Do you remember just on some some crappy books, some guy wrote And a couple of a couple of nasty rumors. Rumors made up to make the president look bad. Do you remember what we went through with Trump trying to determine whether or not he had dementia? But yet there's no curiosity here. Nothing to see. When you have somebody talking like this. $1.9 trillion relief so far. They're going to be getting kicks in the mail that are consequential this week for So on one side of your mouth. You talking about all this money you're giving out to people. And then on the other side of your mouth, you're saying employers should pay employees more to get them back to work. That's classic. You know what that's like Danny? Have you ever seen the cartoon of the guy sitting off a large sitting on a large branch of a tree? And sawing it off. But he sawing Where the branch Yes. Drug. Yes, and he's gonna fall with it. Yes, that's Joe Biden, the Democrats. Well, we're gonna fix this. Do you think it's something to do with the current vice president that you know there's no faith in her, either that you know if they were to get rid of bite in that this is what we'll be starting. I think partly it is. And and there's a part of me that says what if they invoke the 25th amendment, Then we get tackling Kamala. I mean, who wants cackling Kamala? Alright could say in Italian cat can own a kamala. But But that doesn't mean laughing Cat can own a means a woman who talks too much and that would be deemed as sexist. And she's not a woman who talks too much because she hasn't given a press conference in over 90 days about the border, and she's been in charge for over 90 days, but she's there today. Oh, she's got to cover today. Speaking of her reminding Joe Biden about the situation in Florida. What a terrible situation. We are going to talk with Rory O Neill and the second segment this half hour. He is in Florida with the latest on that, and a lot of what Rory said yesterday morning at this time seems to be Um, being presented now as some of the causes. And those causes would be, um The thinking of Florida sections of Florida sinking. I mean, it's a peninsula. It's a sandy peninsula. They're not drilling down into bedrock like they do in Manhattan to build a building. Um But anyway, we'll talk with him about this and and some of the causes. Um, saltwater. Incursion. That is, um What he discussed. Yesterday. It's what he brought up yesterday that you know we may find this is the cause they were They were putting in. Um um Pylons nearby. There was heavy equipment on the roof. Who knows? Who knows the cause Right now, the most important thing is Looking for survivors for people who may be trapped in the rubble. And how do you It's like 9 11. How do you move the rubble? Without creating Another avalanche. And people are hoping and waiting for miracle stories. So anyway, we will talk with him. And the people. They remain in our thoughts and prayers if you remember yesterday, Rory said. Well, they weren't 100% sure This is a building that had snowbirds in it, but also people who live there year round So which is it? I mean, how many people were in there and now with contact with friends and relatives are beginning to get a a number of how many people would have been in there, and it's Let's hope they're wrong. But It's like the days after 9 11 people looking for loved ones. And that's kind of what is happening in Florida. Alright, let's go. Let's go to Sheldon. Only whites in the house, Danny You know what? I was walking pops yesterday and it can't and it struck me. Because you know, Doug, the artist. A super fan of the show sent me a text yesterday saying, Well, why didn't why didn't uh, I didn't. Uh, Sheldon White House back in 2000 and seven say, yeah, I'm a member of the club. What's the big deal? And he was saying it, you know, tongue in cheek and but also seriously And What I thought about I said, Wait a minute. This is just like the Joe Biden create your own problem and then be the one to solve it. So back in 2007. Why didn't he say? I'm a member of the club. It doesn't. This is Bailey's Beach Club. It doesn't have a lot of minority membership, but they're always trying to attract People, a diverse population of people, diverse membership. And so I'm staying with the club if he had done that. You know what Maybe he would announce this problem today. And let's say another thing. Let's say you are a member of Bailey's Beach Club. Remember of Bailey's Beach Club? Now you're being painted as a racist and you might be. Hey Whoa! I never said that..

Minneapolis reaches "historic" settlement with George Floyd's family

"Has reached a civil settlement that attorney Ben Crump says will send a powerful message that black lives do matter. The city of Minneapolis has agreed to pay $27 million to settle a civil lawsuit from George Boyd's family over the Black Man's death in police custody. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Fry appeared at a news conference on Friday with members of George Boyd's family and their attorneys a centuries in the making reckoning. Around racial justice flight. Family attorney Chris Stewart said the decision may affect other cities trying to decide if they should get rid of no knock warrants or choke holds. Do we want to change these policies? They have 27 million reasons now why they should Freud's nephew, Brandon Williams, So it's a huge step in the healing process. Meanwhile, Judge Peter Cahill is reinstated a third degree murder charge as jury selection continues in the trial of the former officer who held his knee on George Flights neck for nearly nine minutes. "Um, talk about the reasons for those decisions. Judges hardly ever move cases out of the jurisdiction because you're supposed to be tried by a jury of a member of your peers meeting the people in your group in your area where you live. I don't know how they're going to get a fair trial in Minneapolis. I'm not sure how they can get a fair trial anywhere, but the judges, you know, they think they can do a very good job in the jury selection process of making sure people are not Prejudging the case. But why would hate to be the defense lawyer in a case like this? Trying it in Minneapolis? The judge actually mentioned that if he moved it there be more protests. So seems like he was even worried about the protests that would ensue if he had ruled in their favor. Trying them together can go both ways because trying them together. Remember, we have four defendants here that the police officers and the one was who had the neon on George flights? A neck was probably the most culpable of all of them. Dark, all gonna be pointing at each other in this trial. The jury is going to get to see the whole thing that happened with all of the descendants, and you could just see what they're going to do. We're gonna be pointing at the beach not show Then I think his name is and the rest of our gonna be saying. We tried to stop him or we didn't do anything. So it's probably the right decision to try and together, But, um Score is in trial will start in March coming up very soon, so we should see that and there's gonna be cameras in the courtroom. The judge also ruled that so we'll be able to watch it. Another very controversial case going on in New York with R. Kelly. This is pretty unusual, isn't it? It is. The judge ruled that the jurors are going to be anonymous, meaning that nobody gets to know their names their birthday. It's where they lived or anything like that, including the lawyers, and the Lords don't like that, because the lawyers like to know who this person is where they live, And now that we have all this information on social media, the lawyers can actually go on social media and see if people have said things and what their slants might be in their views and their prejudices. So they're doing this because the judge said that this R. Kelly was Concerned with Kelly interfering and intimidating witnesses, because there are allegations he did that back in the 2008 trial here in Chicago, And even just recently, in the last four months, there were three defendants who are charged who were trying to intimidate witnesses for R. Kelly in in New York. So, uh, you know, can you imagine the jurors knowing that this case is that the defendant is so dangerous that they can't They don't even have to say their name kind of It's not good for r Kelly. But on the other hand, it makes sense. Because who wants to have who wants to be intimidated? Who wants to have people know who you are? When you're doing your jury duty? Yeah, for sure. Lot going on, and we appreciate your insights. Karen Conti, attorney A cabbie law talk to you again next week here and have a great day..

"And President Trump wants to be talking about anything other than A pandemic on there may be some reason for that, particularly the law and order. Peace AP Poll out Ah yesterday finds that 44% of Americans now disapprove of the protests in response to police violence. Well, 39% approve. That's down significantly. It's flipped in June, 54% approved so as the violence persists, and sometimes it's not related to anything in particular, depending on the city, like in Seattle and Portland. People are sort of starting to get weary of it. And, ah Trump seems to have taken advantage of it, So I mean, it makes some sense. They're just more upside for him on that issue so long as As violence and fires and police being shot in Louisville dominate or at least a share domination of the headlines. Sure gonna go out on a limb here and say that except For extremes or downright bad people. No one's in favor of violence, violence popular, right? Anybody and you know what I mean is it was interrupted. It means sort of like, you know, nobody is in favor of covert 19 deaths, either, But it doesn't stop people like Joe buying from tagging President Trump for responsibly for all 200,000 dead. Nobody's nobody's. Nobody's so supportive of that. But it becomes that how do you handle things when they happen? And so how mayors like Wheeler and Durkin and Lightfoot and others have handled the violence. Becomes a bit of an issue for sure. But as Biden says, repeatedly, and I think correctly when it comes to the pandemic or less directly, but certainly still Mohr response. Well, that's not a good word, but The president is the president Trump's in charge would like to say repeatedly so you know you can talk about Oh, you know these air Democratic runs. Bates or cities. But you know, the guy in the White House is Trump and so responsibility for the pandemic traces back to him. And if you want to talk about the tone and the incitement of violence, a lot of that rests with Trump. Also, you know you can debate what Biden has said or believes when it comes to protest or lawn order, But You got no power to do it. You think about it at the moment? And that's one of the things he's going to continue to point out is what what he would do differently if he gets elected president. But the fact that For the past almost four years, Trump has been present and is president and what he's done. Has made it worse. Well, though, I mean the vitamins talking about violence. I mean, you know, like this is this This will be Ah, good proxy. From what the back and forth on Tuesday night. I mean, look. I'm not a same time You accused me of being a dictator. You accuse me of not being enough of a dictator. So which is it? I'm supposed to come in. And police are cities for you. Except you don't want me to accept you appease the mob, which has nothing to do with me. I'm not in charge of the Louisville Police Department. I had nothing to do with Rianna Taylor. Same thing goes for George Flight in Minneapolis. And so it's all about managing the response. But you don't want me involved in managing the response because Orange Man is bad. So which is it? Well, there's a lot going on there. But whether Trump wants to be a dictator or just talks like one is mentioned in question. His actual leadership of the government in certainly in terms of pandemic response, in my view, has been Disruptive and incompetence on but Besides having all the levers of power that you know any president has it is disposal in terms of government agencies. The bully pulpit to use the cliche matters a lot. You know what a president is going out there and saying every day Set the tone and either encourages or discourages everything from whether people are wearing masks to whether quote unquote You know, Patriots are driving in caravans from Idaho to Portland and you know, provoking As even Mohr dangerous situations..

Here's a bit of that audio from the video that wass available to everybody still is on the Alfa Newspage. Our current crises yield for us, I paralyzed crises because so far we have only talked about the global health pandemic. In our communications to staff and families. We have referenced a dual pandemic. Mr George Floyd, rest in power is seemingly the contemporary face of the pandemic. Of racial injustice. This pandemic of systemic racism has soiled this country not just since slavery but since the genocide of the native Americans And the American Indians who resided on and cared for this land. At our school board meeting this past Friday, you know, isn't it interesting? I'm gonna stop here You can see the whole video is available. Twin cities. News talk dot com in the Justice Andrew Paige on and they ended up making a private yesterday, But thankfully, Alfa News was able to get a to get a copy of and put it up there. But isn't it interesting? How Only when it suddenly became politically expedient. When there was a horrible event that was caught on video and the death of George Floyd. There's going to be a trial, and all those officers involved, including Derek Shaven are all going to go through that trial and the court and the jury are going to decide. Whether or not they're gonna be held accountable based off of the evidence and the facts. So far, there's been no evidence Whatsoever that racism anything to do with the death of George Floyd. That's just effect. That's all that I'm stating is a fact. There's no evidence of that right now. These assumptions Hey, but assumptions aren't fax those assumptions. The fact is, there is any evidence of that right now. But isn't it interesting? How Only when there was a horrific event that people jumps to conclusions without due process taking place, right? That became politically expedient did suddenly These types of claims that superintendents inside public schools now latch onto Where were you saying these things prior to George Flight? Where was all this talk beforehand? Where was the talk before from the superintendent who goes on the video and says Hopkins public schools could no longer be a place where scholars experience racism, racism that only that racism does not only not belong in our schools, it Does not belong anywhere in order to eradicate racism. We need to examine the role that whiteness plays and our macro system of white supremacy, as we intend is we intentionally work to turn crisis into opportunity. She's honest, Hopkins public schools will work intentionally to become an anti racist system. It's a scam. That's all this is. It's a scam. It's rooted in power hungry nonsense. Instead of looking at individual cases of real racism. They go, and they create this this narrative that the entire system is racist because it just because the system disproportionately effects individuals and therefore who maybe black and therefore it's racist. Well, guess what The system disproportionately affects everybody. All laws discriminating one in some way, shape or form as the country. We've dealt with this issue, and we've put in policies in place. Equal opportunity. Employment, informative action. We did a great job. Of of advancing race relations and teaching our Children for a while, we was we were to judge a person on the content of their character, not the color of their skin, but only when it became politically expedient. Do they latch onto this now, she explained to becoming an anti racist system requires white people and all people to self educated to listen to people of color into identifying to interrupt racist policies, practices and behavior is becoming anti racist is a journey that begins with self reflection without blame or shame. We must recognize that we were condition to operate within a system of racism that pervade throughout every aspect of our daily existence. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. I don't know about you, but what I hear is I hear the parents and the adults inside the Charlie Brown car. Years ago long why? Because This is a bunch of words that ultimately when you want to put those words together in a certain fashion that don't really make a whole heck of a lot of sense. They do They mean one thing. Vote Democrats, That's all that it means. Vote for Democrats the point I wanted to make on this because I do want to get to some funder stuff. The point I want to make on this. Is that Hopkins public schools pulled the video made it private. If you stand by your comments, why hide it? Yeah. If you believe what it is that you're saying Any pushback that you get any negative negative comments, and there were there were plenty in the code comments in that thread. If you stand by what you say, if you truly believe this is the case, If you're writing your detractors are wrong. There's no point in making a private I make it private. Because you're cowards because you don't really believe what it is. You're saying because you know what you're saying is nonsense. You know what you're saying is agenda driven propaganda that shouldn't be taught in public schools. Parents want to go and talk to their kids about this kind of stuff. It's parents rights to do that. That's where that kind of talk belongs. Superintendent of the Hopkins public School system and any other superintendents out there that believe the same type of garbage that she does. That's the kind of stuff They should be taught in.

At our school board meeting this past Friday, you know, isn't it interesting? I'm gonna stop here You can see the whole video is available. Twin cities. News talk dot com in the Justice Andrew Paige on and they ended up making a private yesterday, But thankfully, Alfa News was able to get to get a copy of an put it up there. But isn't it interesting? How Only when it suddenly became politically expedient. When there was a horrible event that was caught on video and the death of George Floyd. There's gonna be a trial and all those officers involved, including Derek Shoven are all going to go through that trial and the court and the jury are going to decide. Whether or not they're going to be held accountable based off of the evidence and the facts. How Only when there was a horrific event that people jump to conclusions without due process taking place, right? That became politically expedient did suddenly These types of claims that superintendents inside public schools now latch onto Where were you saying these things prior to George Flight? Where was all this talk beforehand? Where was the talk before from the superintendent who goes on the video and says Hopkins public schools could no longer be a place where scholars experience racism, racism, Not only not, racism does not only not belong in our schools, it Does not belong anywhere and in order to eradicate racism, we need to examine the role that whiteness plays in our macro system of white supremacy, as we intend is, we intentionally work to turn crisis into opportunity. Of advancing race relations and teaching our Children for a while, we was we were to judge a person on the content of their character, not the color of their skin, but only when it became politically expedient. Do they latch onto this now? She explained that becoming an anti racist system requires white people and all people to self educated to listen to people of color into identifying to interrupt racist policies, practices and behavior is becoming anti racist is a journey that begins with self reflection without blame or shame. We must recognize that we were condition to operate within the system of racism that pervade throughout every aspect of our daily existence. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. I don't know about you, but what I hear is I hear the parents and the adults inside the Charlie Brown car. You go that long? Why? Because Is this a bunch of words that ultimately when you want to put those words together in a certain fashion that don't really make a whole heck of a lot of sense, they do They mean one thing vote Democrats, That's all that it means. Vote for Democrats the point I wanted to make on this because I do want to get to some funder stuff. The point I want to make on this. Is that Hopkins public schools pull the video made it private. If you stand by your comments, why hide it? Yeah. If you believe what it is that you're saying Any pushback that you get any negative negative comments, and there were there were plenty of nickel comments in that thread. That's the kind of stuff It should be taught in the homes..

Oh, boy, Do we have a lot to get off our chest on the show today, and so do our guests, by the way, liberal talk show host Doug Basham will give us reaction from the Republican National Convention Night to last night and then Ah Fox news contributor. And, Of course, he's the host of the Larry Elder Show. He's all over Fox News. Larry Elder will be joining us in our number two as well. So we're gonna get the liberal perspective. We're going to get the conservative perspective on the RNC. That's what we do on the show. We get both sides find another show that does that then our number three we gotta cover this, John. Ponder pardon we had John Ponder on the show a few months ago, and he's actually gonna be joining us again. Tomorrow. He is the man who President Trump pardon so we will talk about that We'll get to the N B. A. R. N ba players who are now saying they want to boycott the MBA and end the playoffs. Because of what's going on in the racial tension, So we will get to all that stuff loaded show coming up here in the next few hours, but I want to start By talking about the latest in this Kenosha shooting and my opinions on it and I start the show today. Very, very angry. I'm angry at the left, and I'm angry at the right and I'll tell you why. Let me give the latest information if I made a start, and we will talk about the case and what has transpired in any new news, but now we have two shot dead and one injured in this condo in Kenosha during some protest there. Police are saying that two people have been shot and killed a third injured. The victim had been shot in the head and other in the chest late Tuesday, just before midnight. It's It's nuts. It's nuts. What's going on in this city? I'm so angry at both sides here and I'll explain why why can't we in the same sentence? Say that there is systemic racism. And there is problem with policing and training. And most cops are good cops. Why is it that African Americans when it comes to a shooting like this, and we see someone that clearly does not comply with police in no way, shape or form? Am I saying that this man deserve to be shot in the back? Seven times? We need more information. But why can't we just call out what is true here that the man did not comply with three kids in the back seat of his car? Why is it that we never have? LeBron James tweet out? We need more. We need to hear more about this investigation. It looks horrible. You have to comply with police officers. We never hear any prominent African Americans making statements like that. And that pisses me off. While I say LeBron James, why can't we in the same sentence, whether you're a Republican or a Democrat? Why can't we say in the same sentence? LeBron James should be more careful with his words on social media and shell. Should Donald Trump. Why can't we say that in the same sentence while I just said it, folks. Why can't we say that minority should comply and respect police While police should respect minorities as well? Why can't we say that in the same sentence? You know, why can't we say that there should be no violence? No rioting and it should all be condemned. But peaceful protestors should be praised. Not all called Marxist. Why can't we do that in the same sentence? Why can't we attack both sides of the aisle? Both conventions? We can't do that were either on one extreme or the other either. All cops are bad. Fry them like bacon. For all cops are good and racism or systemic. Racism doesn't exist. I'm so tired of it. Why can't we arrest these protesters? If you're if I went right now downtown and I started burning a building or throwing rocks of police. I would be arrested. Why? Where? The police? Where is everybody In this country When it comes to the law, these idiots in Kenosha and no, I don't think the majority of them are all vigilantes. I don't think the majority of them are bad people. But those who are committing crimes who are burning down buildings who are assaulting people. Where are the damn police? Where is the leadership throughout this country? Why aren't these people being arrested? I'm sick of it. I'm tired of it. And it bothers me to no avail. Now let me get to the actual case at hand. Which is this guy Blake, who was shot in the back seven times. I was at a friend's house yesterday. I'm not going to say where I wass. And one of his roommates has Ah, a couple kids in their early twenties, and I'm having a conversation with him. I got to take a breath because I'm so worked up about this absorbing rolled on, Brian, You're Are you all right? I'm laying here. You're going to be okay. I'm livin and OK, I was sure I had a conversation with a couple millennials okay in their early twenties. And their attitude is all cops or bad cops. And I'm not going to comply and I start off a conversation calm and I'm saying, Listen, I'm on your side. I get it. You're angry. They're systemic racism out there. We should all be anger would happen to George flight. It's horrible, right Philando Castillo, so on and so forth. There's a lot of cases out there and that that's not systemic Racism. That is individual races. Letters a different okay, so so let me let me continue my story. There is racism out there in the world and there are agree with, And there are cops that are racist that do unjust things to minorities and as a whole Minorities when it comes to lawn first, not treated the same as white people. If you want to disagree with me on that you want to be one of those people. That's on one side. That's fine. That's my opinion with that being said. Their attitude to me, Wass. You're part of the problem. We're not going to comply with police use idiots out there. There are millions of people out there that have that attitude that think because You think that all police officers are Racists? Which, by the way, is not true that it is a defense that you should never comply with a police officer and I'm especially when a lot of Police chiefs in inner cities are in major cities are African American, and a lot of police officers in major cities are African American as well. So how can you? How can you have that same thought process without taking into account that there's actually a lot of minority police officers, So I'm on the streets nationwide, So I'm not talking about the color of the skin of the police officer. To me. That doesn't matter. What matters to me is that there are people in this country regardless of the skin color of the police officers. That feel like they should not have to comply with a cop. If that's the case, then then who are the African American police officers? If they're racist, not core. They racist or not. I'm not speaking for them. I don't agree with them. I'm just telling you what they told me and our conversation and why I got angry. I got upset at them, and I said, Listen, if you think it's the right thing to do, and by the way, if you're 22 or 23, year old enough to know right from wrong Hey, I don't care what the color of your skin is. Just because you're afraid of cops. Wouldn't that give you more reason to do what they tell you to do if you think you're dealing with a police officer? That's a racist. If you think you're dealing with a police officer that as itchy trigger fingers wouldn't that give you Maura reason to comply? So I'm having this conversation with these two ignorant millennials and I'm thinking to myself. This is a no win situation for me. They're too dumb to realize I'm on their side. That's number one. And the last thing I said was, Look if you don't agree with me, and you think it's okay to not comply with police. Good luck to you. Let me know how that works out. And then we go to this story, and by the way, the argument I was having a debate, turning an argument with these two millennials. They didn't even see the video. They didn't even see the Blake video. They just assumed That the officer was in the wrong and look, I don't know. I look at this scenario with the shooting, and here's the way I look at it, OK, there are a couple different scenarios that could justify shooting somebody in the back. Let me give those to you. And in no way shape or form er, my saying that this happened. I'm just giving you the scenarios here. We know that he got into a scuffle..

"Background because most of you know the story. There's been ongoing protests in Wauwatosa even before the George Floyd situation over this, that and the other thing and They have focused locally on the case of Officer Joseph MENSA, who is the police officer who shot and killed a man who, armed with a stolen gun was part of a group that was causing a disturbance and running toward Mayfair Mall. While armed with that stolen gun. He also had 36 rounds of ammunition and an extended magazine. And according to the police investigation, he fired a shot that officer men sub and protesters have been going after Officer men ever since The wall photos the city council. Recommended that he his employment be terminated in the fire and police Commission has suspended him. As I had predicted. This is not satisfied the protesters who have disrupted government meetings who made wild statements at a public meeting at hard Park, and then on Saturday, I took their protest directly to the home. Off officer Men's his girlfriend, who is a police officer in Milwaukee. Where Officer Benson Wass and a situation developed in which Officer MENSA says that he was shot at Before we talk to Chief Webber. I want to deal with two new developments today. He sent the following letter to me, your dentist McBride of Wauwatosa today, Dear Mayor McBride. I write to you today concerning the deteriorating security and policing in Wauwatosa. The protests, which may have started peacefully have been growing ever more violent and the event Saturday night outside the residence of Officer Joseph Mintz have required a meat require immediate leadership and strong action from you. And the elected leaders of Wauwatosa first allow me to be clear that I am and always will be supportive of American citizens. First Amendment rights, having said that ever since the death of George Flight in Minneapolis and the protests and the protests the incident sparked There has been a push by community leaders throughout the country to weaken, defund and abolish police departments in several cities. Locally, Officer MENSA has become the poster child for this movement due to his three officer involved shooting incidents. Officer MENSA has dedicated his life to protecting our community and has been cleared by the Milwaukee County District attorney's office of two of the three shootings in which he has been involved. The third incident is still under review. Despite the decisions by the Milwaukee County D. A. You're common council passed a resolution calling for the termination of officer menses employment with the Wauwatosa Police Department. While I understand the common Council wants to bring reforms that the OPD the consequences of their actions are having serious repercussions for the residents of your community. Citizens of Baba Tosa are being harassed by these protests. Protesters who have now laid siege to a residence in your community where a gun was fired at a home with women and Children inside. Actions like this, and the breakdown of law and order will spread fear and force the citizens of Allah toasted to reconsider their choice to reside there. The mass emigration from your city would be devastating to the very fabric of that community. In addition to the detrimental effect it would have on your tax base schools and city sciences. As I believe we are teetering at a crisis. I am offering my assistance. I stand ready to contact federal law enforcement agencies and bring them to Wauwatosa in order to bring peace and tranquility back to the community. I look forward to hearing from you. Well, we have reached a critical tipping point in Wauwatosa. I am confident that if we work together, we can restore the rule of law. It is crucial that we strive to preserve the excellent quality of life that has drawn so many toe work. And raise their families in Wauwatosa and signed by Jim Sensenbrenner, member of Congress. That officer Benson was at on Saturday night is saying that nobody tried to kill Officer MENSA, and he's blaming MENSA for all of the developments that occurred. Quoted in the Js online today, Bowen said, and I quote from the story, Bowen said No protesters fired at MENSA during the protest. It should Bob said 50 to 60 people outside menses Wauwatosa home again. It's actually his girl friend's home. But he's residing there. Bowling and other protesters said they were provoked by MENSA before the physical altercation that took place out outside his home quote. It was clearly communicated as we were trying to figure out what happened that it was Joseph MENSA in that tussle that turned off the safety on that firearm and told the trigger. Owen said today, the Wauwatosa Police Department issued a statement saying there is a lot of false information and rumors being circulated on social media and through the news media regarding the events on Saturday night, August 8th outside the home where Wauwatosa Police officer Joseph MENSA was stag best includes an accurate information and allegations contained an official press releases from a state elected official was outside of the home. "Saying that they're going to kill people, and they're using the most vile possible terms to describe heroic people lie local law enforcement and you know, in communities like Kata Hay and where I mean, what they do is every now and then deal with violence and crime, but most of the time, just help out their residents. That's what they D'oh. To see them have to put up with this and then to see it to understand that all over America, people are posting stuff like this on social media right and left. Without any sanction. Without any consequence. I don't know if this goofy even has a job. But if you posted something 11 millionth as bad of that, but from the right You're done. You're under investigation at Barkat, and they're threatening to beat the Killian so forth and so on again. Those of us who are opinionated, but try to show respect for our fellow bad, etcetera. We're just right now Being told to go bleep ourselves. You support Donald Trump. You're a monster. You want to go to a ball game? You're a selfish person who wants to kill people. To support local police is because you're a racist. If you think George Washington ought to be honored by our country, it's because you believe black people should be slaves. This is the crap that's going on coming from people who have provided about zero contribution and their entire miserable lives to their fellow bad. Company of them have ever donated to a food pantry. How many of them even pay taxes? How many of them helped anything out. Nothing. Nothing, Nothing, nothing and nothing. So anyway, the story is out there and were it not for the fact that he hadn't posted under his own name on Social media and There is a public record as they say, This is in the hands of a CZ. You might guess. You have a lot of suburban communities and support that a lot of people notice this that they just need to, But just trying to put the guy out there on people's radars that pumps public official if you know what if he did show up, But he looks dangerous. Be aware that This guy's actually said. Some really sickening things. And my guess is that if he actually crossed the line, and it got into the level of criminality, get a lawyer and you get all the always just care to get admitted. It admitted it and meet intimated. Just there's a lot of these people that are walking up to the cops of the protests and screaming in their faces and calling a monsters. I'm hearing third hand. Some of you remember early on in the protest Milwaukee police chief. I'll find somewhere. Alice walked with the protesters. Remember that? I got this thirdhand beating. It might not be exactly correct. He left the protest. The names that he was called to his face as he was marching with them. And he was just trying to show we didn't like what happened to George Flight, either the names that he was called by people standing right now. People think I'm too critical eye again. I'm hearing this third head. No human being should have to put up with it. Not The things I wouldn't say to Joe Biden's face for heaven sakes. "Their internal polling may suggest that that a lot of the black vote seeing the results that President Trump produced, you know, While not always sounding like like Barack Obama, the results were really remarkable. They were historic record breaking For African Americans economically and others. I know what you think the government's supposed to do for you, you know, not supposed to give foot massages and stuff, but create a great economy on dynasty you should be able to live in peace in our society is well too, obviously, but the Democrat Party's really you know, they're always pimping hard for the black vote, but never before like this. This is their shattering. Records with this go around in this election season, and and I just I got to say so. The Democrats are really looking out for me because you got 80 year old Nancy Pelosi up there. You see, she gave a American flag folded in a triangle box. To the family of George Floyd. Yesterday, The speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, gave a folded American flag in a triangle box to the family of George Flight flight yesterday, normally reserved for veterans, and that's the flag you might get when you leave the military or I have for my flags of our fathers for my father, who art in heaven and for my grandfather. My father, World War two veteran. My mother's father, a World War veteran, and the flags from their flag draped coffins are handed over and and my brother in New York has my grandfather's flag. I have my father's flag, which is a 49 star flag by the way. Kind of a rare commodity 49 star flag, which I have in a triangle box. As you might expect, but Nancy Pelosi, I mean, I just, You know, I understand the tragedy of George Floyd's killing and all but but that's really a folded on the speaker of the House. You know, not Audie Murphy. But But okay. And speaking of all of that, there was another incident involving. You're choking me yesterday. Unfortunately for CNN and MSNBC, it was in the Judd Zone and in Seattle. That's that. I've changed their name for them. But it was a Christian street preacher who struck me as being a bit eccentric, I would say, and he went into the You know the occupied zone, whatever they're calling it now. In Seattle, and he was promptly beaten and choked and wrestled to the ground and had his Jesus signed taken away from him because there will be no freedom of religion and the judge, don't you know that they were calling themselves Chazz the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone, and they naturally created an acronym Lefties Love acronyms. And so is the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone. And they called it Chazz like Chazz Bono. But apparently a new forces came in. I think the forces of Pol Pot came in and replace the forces of Chairman Mao and they changed the name to chop to chop. That's what they called it. Chop. Andre is the Capitol Hill occupied protest. You see, it's no longer the autonomous zone. Now it's unoccupied protest, so they changed the name. It's like a court, you know, and it's an extraordinary thing. But I think they should be called Chud, which is bad. 1984 movie on that was an acronym to for a cannibalistic humanoid. Underground dwellers, and that seems to fit the description pretty well. I think that that's a very apt description, the cannibalistic humanoid underground dwellers. That's the people that we're talking about. They have seized some portion of the city of Seattle and the media and the Democrats. But I repeat myself are good with this, and that's fine. And I you know, I keep saying President Trump, Really Shay should point to it on. But people make sure that people aware of it, but gosh, gosh Almighty, it is. It's berserk. They're now I've got some really fun stuff today. Mike. Let's take care. Let's take a break here. We've got some great stuff. "George flight Floyd all across the nation and within our own community continue to come together to peacefully demonstrate and express their grief and their anger and their frustration Wednesday night on Capitol Hill I met with many of the demonstrators we shared peaceful dialogue we talked about healing reform and moving forward together as a community unfortunately last night that peace did not continue for the whole evening in the wee hours of the morning there was an issue where there were people who were throwing bottles and rocks and projectiles at officers and we had two officers injured and one required treatment at the hospital as I've said throughout the week and really for my entire life but certainly throughout the last week we have to meet peace with peace and last night in the face of the rocks and bottles and projectiles your police officers demonstrated restraint and they didn't use any force the community needs to know that as your police chief I will speak out and I will condemn officers who abuse their power and I will hold them accountable but I will also speak up and support the officers who are doing the right thing officers have been working tirelessly for the last seven days and not just at the demonstrations in fact the federal task force that we're apart made the first arrest in connection with the riot last Saturday task force continue to investigate all the criminal incidents that occurred that day we're sifting through a lot of information and the tips that people are standing in in the information that we're gathering to hold people accountable who were lighting cars on fire and looting and committing property destruction and damage you know that's true which is still answering nine one one calls every day to the tune of about twelve to thirteen hundred calls a day helping victims and providing a high level of public safety that our community not only expects but deserves additionally as the mayor has already highlighted today I issued the order to suspend the use of CS but what other people may call tear gas for crowd management purposes after hearing concerns about the use of CS gas for crowd control purposes earlier this week I met with my command team we discussed and talked about future uses and we decided that we were going to suspend it temporarily suspend the use of CS gas for thirty days and during that thirty day time period we've asked the accountability partners the office of police accountability director Andrew myerberg the office of inspector general at least the judge and the community police commission under Bessie Scott along with other outside experts to review and update the department's crowd control policies and during that time the Seattle police department swat team will maintain their trained ability to use at CS to protect the life and to end standoff situations any deployment must be approved by the chief or designated by by the deputy chief or whoever I've tested designated it is important to note that there was no incident on record since the WTO protests in nineteen ninety nine when the Seattle police department deployed CS gas for kraken management circumstances as we had to do on may thirtieth other options on that date for crowd control such as blast balls in OC spray simply were not proving effective at that time and because of the magnitude of the event we experienced a near depletion of its supply of those tools accordingly ethically temporarily authorized the use of CS in order to prevent further destruction many of you saw the pictures and the photographs in the news coverage of the destruction that occurred downtown that day the conditions they have not I've been mad and things we have our resources back in place and that authorization has been rescinded SPD remains committed to the mission of managing demonstrations and managing events were no crowd control to tools need to be used but we also must protect the life and the property of this great city thank you I'll turn it over to Skagen good afternoon my name is Charles Coggins virtually for the Seattle fire department remember enjoyed George Floyd that's why we're here but I I'm I'm glad our mayor reminded us that it's Brianna Taylor's birthday I'm if you didn't know she was an EMT serving her community so she would have been on the front lines serving her community during the course of this pandemic responding to patients in need so she also has a special place in my heart as a first responder over the course of last twenty four hours a Seattle fire department responded to twelve emergencies related to that the protests that was navigating this way around the community eight were medical and former fire related one of fire related responses were particularly important because it was a group trying to start a small bonfire in cal Anderson park so once again I do want to remind the protesters stat you know if these things happen and you see people doing these things please call nine one one it's important that we get there and we keep small fires small that's very important also why your protest scene if you see your neighbors having a harder hard time maybe they're dehydrated maybe they haven't eaten maybe they have an underlying medical condition and they go down they need assistance please call nine one one and please stay there with them to help us get to where they are that's very important and as the mayor mentioned this morning we opened our our community testing clinic are are sort of location and and you can sign up for testing at Seattle dot gov forward slash covert nineteen testing and it is open and I can I can I can testify to that because I was customer number one this morning so we're ready for yeah you know your your travel around the community with large crowds of people that you probably don't know and it's important that you recognize that because you don't know who they're coming into contact with and they don't know who you're coming into contact with and when you leave the protests you're probably going back home to family and friends they're probably taken some things which you did that you didn't start the day off with so my advice to all of you is to go get tested my advice to all of our health care workers is to go get tested as our community starts to re open and you want to have that confidence level we're asking you to go get tested so once again Seattle dot gov forward slash covert nineteen testing thank you you've been listening to the fire chief Herald Scoggins and now here's mayor Jenny Durkan again want to thank the chief for all the work he's done on testing in this pandemic remind people that he was the food with that our first responders were the first to set up like a testing facility for first responders by first responders and they've now tested hundreds of first responders they then use that mobile team to also test in our senior centers so truly do want to urge people get tested at our sites you won't have to pay anything it's important that you know what the status of your health is the second is I want to also say that is related to that that the killing in Tacoma mayor water tonight both support and will be asking for a new state authority that there be an independent special prosecutor office created solely to investigate and prosecute on this law enforcement cases or people who are in other color of law they call it so jail guard or the like we know there's too many conflicts of interest when those cases are investigated and prosecuted by the local authorities who rely on the same police departments so she and I and some others will be sending a letter to the governor asking for in the next session and particularly if there's a special session the creation of an office of a special investigation for such cases and with that I will take any questions for myself or for either of the chiefs thank you mayor thank you keep that.
