Fraternal Twins Murder Case: Echos of Cain & Able
"David melfi was a troubled young man who took an active role in the killing of his attorney brother and leaving him to die in his own. Blood michael melfi is twin was found in the basement of the family home in a pool of blood. David was charged and convicted first degree murder in march nineteen ninety five and the connection with the slaying of his brother. Michael david melfi found himself in an unusual role. He was both relatives of the victim. And the convicted killer. David malthus attorney neal's aibo told the genesee county jury. The david malfa horrible terrible judgment but he denied his client. David melfi killed his brother. Michael yet there was no evidence that david tried to help his brother. Michael who was stabbed forty five times. The jury heard the claim. The david malki was guilty of no more than being an accessory after the fact to a murder because he was not directly involved in the killing mel fees trial attorney cast doubt on an alleged accomplice in the brutal murder. His name was patrick again. Kenny who accepted a plea bargain and testified against mouthy at the jury trial in flint michigan. Can he plead to a second degree murder charge. He testified under oath that he and david melfi plan to kill michael melfi and other family members if necessary so they could take their family van and fleet of florida or texas kimmy told flint please detectors that michael malki was lured into the basement where he kenny tried to slid michael malfeasance throat but was unable to win. Michael began to fight back kenny. Then call david melfi to the basement to help him during the struggle. Patrick kennedy testified that the brother david melfi provided a knife and how down his twin brother as ken. Kenny stabbed him repeatedly. Forty five times in all it's a useful exercise to look back at the book of genesis chapter four and the new international version of the bible now able kept flocks and cain worked in the soil. And of course at time cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the lord enable also brought an offering fat portions from some of the first born of his. The lord looked with favor unable and is offering but kane but on cain and his offerings in not look with favor so cain was very angry and his face was downcast. Then the lord said to cain. Why are you angry. Why is your face. John kass do what is right. You will not be accepted but if you do do not do. it's right. Sin is crouching at your door. It desires to have you but you must rule over it. Now cain said to his brother abel. Let's go out to the field while they were there in the field kane attacked his brother abel and killed them then the lord said to cain. Where's your brother able. I don't know he replied. And my brother's keeper the lord said what have you done. Listen your brother's blood. Cries out to me from the ground. It is downright spooky that the story of david and michael melfi is nearly identical to the first recorded murder found in the bible like cain. David melfi was jealous of his twin brother who had animosity towards his parents also like kane confronted by his father. Adam about the killing of his brother kane told his dad adam that his brother abel laid on the ground with many wounds kane told his father he was not sure that he inflicted any of wounds especially fatal ones simple terms. Cain denied the obvious and he refused to accept responsibility for the death of his brother abel. This was not just to his father but to god who confronted him and punished him with isolation unfathomable to me donder. Stand that high school. Kids could demonstrate such talapity this new age case of cain and abel still shocks me today

"Now if it ever came to that to that moment, because they've just throwing a lot more gas on a fire that is burning. I don't want that to happen. And that's why when you look at the sheriff. In genesee county, whose video went viral, because it was actually engaging with with people who are hurting the protesters. That's how we solve the problem, not by throwing more. Police and military at the medicine faster than we acknowledge it and we try to solve this problem, not not not militarize this. One of the things that. That has been so encouraging. Has, been the scenes of protesters. In defending stores so that they don't get looted protesters. Defending in some cases, police officers, or at least communicating with police officers. But we have seen in some cases, protesters, defending police, officers and trying to. Trying to tamp down a violence. and not wanting their peaceful protests, not wanting their legitimate. Protests and demonstrations. To be. Taken over by. You know by elements that are that are out there with you know are going to break into a store or take stuff because that's not what the vast majority of these protesters are about. That's I mean the vast majority of people who are showing up to protest. Really Care about the issue. They care about the George Lloyd's of the world that we didn't hear about because it wasn't filmed. They care about addressing that issue of police brutality and Years of of this. That is showing up in Covid nineteen as we hold a mirror up to the United States of America. The vast majority of people are doing this out of genuine concern and desire to make sure that we as a country do better on behalf of all Americans, and yet we know that there are people with their own agendas that are infiltrating these events and turning them into violence than and vandalism and undermining the real. Real cause that they're supposedly there to be supporting, and that's precisely why we absolutely support the right to protest, but what we want to make sure is that these other forces don't come in and undermine it, and to make it into something that's dangerous, and that's why the president's words today were so dangerous and so distressing, both his words to the governor's our caller earlier and his address to the nation moments ago. This is a moment in our country where we need. We need peace. We need unity and compassion, and we need an agenda that actually fixes the problems that we are suffering from. Governor Whitman appreciate your time. Thank you very much. Thank you. We expect a lot from our homes..

"Of the governor all of being charged with crimes because of what they did and did not pay and and nobody told the governor but of course if he cannot prove it mine did powder governor it got inhabitants against him and colder going here at ccri practicality had arrogant charged governor with a crime can't do it he charged with whom he felt he had qe in the nick lyon i guess you call it the charging document here they say count to misconduct in office in the misconduct is any kind of gives the governor get out of jail free card here he says lyon did intentionally mislead in withhold information about the legionaires disease outbreak in genesee county from governor rick snyder contrary to the duties enjoined upon and by the michigan public health code he essentially lease on the legionaires within that context says that there was that there was a failure to act in that the governor didn't know well again it's all about what you can prove in court that is what he is charged with and that is based on conversation that did not include the governor cynthia declined to be interviewed but it is based on a number of interviews of purely with others that say that that this never trickled up also also a number of you there's that the the time line on this is at least again in relation to legionaires disease is problematic as well and they apparently abducted dennis much more his chief of staff which i have a hard time believing that that he did didn't the that he filtered out no pun intended here critical information about was happening in flint yet that it appears that that's what she has accepted well i don't think he's accepted so much it but he pulled her today is that the criminal paid of different vegetation a gun for now and he moving into the preparatory okay and it getting ready to go to trial when these people who are on trial per felony thicket turn them to prison are then hitting into defended chair.
