"The studios in the mile high city it is my this is Dan caplets I don't believe it the most expensive smirk in history where those drones flying all over the eastern plains of Colorado we see impeachment articles this week and is a run going to respond to our strike against their highest general Haley when calling again for Dan cap was on the Dan caplets show toll free number eight five five four oh five eight two five five all of it down front range give us call it also at me up on Twitter it's at legal and show Ellie L. A. N. D. Leland show we have breaking news by the way you member the Covington Catholic kids that made national news the most expensive smirking history now apparently CNN has settled with mixed Sandman the northern Kentucky kid who was essentially destroyed by the media because he stood there when he was being shouted at yelled that and a guy was playing drums in his face I'll have details on this a little bit later but CNN has settled with him we don't know how much she sued for two hundred seventy five million and there's other networks that he's going to go after so we'll get into that later on in the program again the toll free number eight five five four oh five eight two five five let's get into this with Iran here's the thing I've been saying for the last couple of days that I think Iran is gonna talk a big game but at the end of the day they know that if they do anything too drastic we will literally decapitate their regime and what's interesting about Iran is that there is an enormous number of young educated people in Iran that would like nothing more than a western style democracy they're being oppressed by this regime and at times in the past they've been very close to over throwing it or at least trying to overthrow it it wouldn't take much from us to topple them and then let's see what those students wanting western style democracy can do I mean Iran was kind of part of the cradle of civilization in the sense that you know you go back to to what it was called Persia and the amazing technological advances in cultural advances that came out of that country and right now it's just in pressed don't in a way a because of these theocratic Jack wagons who would like to hang gaze from street lamps it's a pretty terrible situation and we took out their biggest general and now we've got a bunch of leftist running around the country acting like a bunch of weenies scared to death that we started World War three I don't think so but I'm not the best expert for this I want to bring on my friend lieutenant Jason Redmond he's a retired navy seal he served in the Middle East Jason Redmond thanks for coming on the program how are you Sir you and what's going on out west how are you guys it's good to talk to you I was just in Breckenridge man I got yeah that is a that is a great town it's pretty awesome we at we had a blast in this year was great snow was awesome big shout out to Breckenridge active by outdoor sports program I did teach kia with those guys so wait that's awesome love it what we're glad to have you back let me start with this you first of all the kids seem so money how bad of a guy was the last time you and I talked did I did I if I remember correctly you told me that you had lost three members of your own team to an I. E. D. that he was responsible for the fact that he got into the hands of insurgents in Iraq is that correct I remember that correctly yeah you're absolutely right we will July sixty thousand seven my my sister troops are all different troops operated in different areas of the country I was operating in western Iraq with my troops and our sister troopers operating at that time out of Baghdad and when in the sadr city which obviously was a very strong she which had a lot of Iranian influence on a lot of people the Iranians are Donnelly she the kiosk Chrissy is issue around the doctor she and taught all solder and solder city and Mahdi militia they were getting funneled money and news very insidious ID be called yeah peas which worst designed for exactly one purpose and that purpose was to penetrate U. S. armor and our guys were operating they went through our armored vehicles and killed three of our guys so I have a personal connection you know with this we have been watching Iran be involved and it's amazing to watch the news and a lot of uneducated Americans are kind of dumbfounded by she over and over and over again that well this doesn't seem like in like a a quick glimpse what's the word I'm looking for here reaction basically you know we we lost an American on that on December twenty seventh a contractor that we went back to the Iranian paramilitary forces valve which directly links back stole money and then of course there was the attack on the embassy and I see people say oh my god what street you showing the number three guy well people realize the history of soul money stolen money in the Iranian regime has been actively targeting Americans and meddling in American affairs and not only that disrupting things all across the Middle East for decades you know you want to talk about the blood of Americans on soul money she and she goes all the way back vault in the bay were bombed he was actively planning an attack on American soil several years ago they were planning an attack in DC and that was thwarted by homeland security and other government agencies you know we we estimate six hundred and fifty American troops were killed during the Iraq war by Iranian paramilitary forces are specifically DG afternoons that were manufactured in and flows directly out of Iran so I mean this is not this is not a a should not judgment that was made and I'll be honest I applaud president trump for the first time in decades all the in the Iranians accountable for their actions yeah I don't come back to that exploded more but I want to kind of dive into the the fact that this is a complicated region and I know you've got a grasp of how that region works the you mentioned she a predominantly Shia and I and I get these confused but essentially because the the Islamic faith is broken out like Christianity it's broken out into a lot of different sects that believe different things and you know maybe there's like one overriding part of the theology but but they they they have very different individual beliefs is that the violence mostly coming is the radicalism mostly coming from that sect of Islam no actually the most radical part of this one is coming from a shot the SUNY okay hi al Qaeda and the Wahabi sect which typically that ideology good is coming out bomb Pakistan there was a lot of ideology of western Pakistan coming out of their al Qaeda kind of fell under disbelief structure isis was a much more extreme version of that so okay you know they did this year were much more which is which like I said a predominately in the Iranian legion but Iraq had a mixture of their you know religious culture that existed in the country Christian and shooting and Shia you know Hussein was actually shooting Saddam Hussein was actually soon by Todd there was a large group by reining in their shoes especially in the Baghdad area okay so when the war broke out this is really what's in my opinion devolved Iraq and such a civil war it became a fine you know really between allotted destabilization between the Sunni and Shia is how a lot of that happened and I ran was the number one provocateur out of that and and so the money is the head of the cards force was the one who was the puppet master funding we need money finally no weapons and basically so many the sand with all these different paramilitary units to go in there and create hate and discontent to disrupt you know basically the American presence there and they also didn't want to see you know what day and vision was going to be a a new government in Iraq that you know directly fell under you Astor just soul what soul we are shooting control okay when we're talking with retired navy seal lieutenant Jason Redmond when you it like what what is the ultimate goal then for Ron like why are they fomenting this what is their interest in a rock I know that prior to to our invasion of Iraq in the nineteen nineties there was a long protracted war between Iraq and Iran largely you know between Saddam Hussein and what he wanted to do versus what Iran wanted to do but what is the current goal because it seems as though soon the money and the Iranian regime was working to both destabilize Iraq as a region but also working with other terrorist groups around the world to attempt to attack Israel and other allies of our Saudi Arabia so what is their ultimate goal in that region you know I think it comes down to power I think they want to hold on to power and they want to control the playing fields within you know the the areas within the Middle East where they can't Iraq suddenly became a very target rich environment when you know the government fell when Saddam Hussein fell suddenly became this big that back in you know ice is actually what I used to this was actually an enemy of Iran because obviously it was a you know a a very strict shooting form bomb you know all the religions what ironically we've actually fought side by side with Iranians against ISIS and now we're fighting against each other because of other issues that's right why they never stopped actively targeting and kind of see the maps for one of the biggest things you know we we have been aware as Americans and I know within the national intelligence apparatus and within the DOD because I actually asked my mom this the other day because for me it was just common sense I was like man Iran has been Natalie and in the U. S. fares for decades and actively targeting Americans in specifically American military members for decades and and I asked her I said you know it and you know what are your thoughts on this and she was like I was and where I'd never heard of this guy some money but of course from a military background I definitely she's a she's a numerous times over the years right so we so what is what is Iran's goal then in Iraq what was stolen money doing in Iraq what was he up to what was he about to do well I think it was two fold I think you know him and obviously is just my opinion but I mean I think I ran wanted to see a predominantly Shia dominated government within Iraq because then you know it could have been a a a puppet regime for the irate for Iran and and of course you know we were trying to enable a a a free democracy that was elected by the people so you know at the end of the day whatever that turned out to be by what was happening is and unfortunately in the Middle East there's just tons of corruption in many of the countries in Iraq and Iran are both that fall under that under that sphere of influence so trying to do an actual free election of the people was a very tough thing and I think the Iranians knew that as long as we were there in that wasn't going to happen so they were doing things to destabilize our presence there and you know in some ways they were victorious within that.
