"And when the exit polls show that 25% of Trump's votes came from Hispanic and black voters that has to just rock their world when they see that but pills they still won't come to grips with it. They'll find a way to try to deny it and continue with their way of thinking, But that's their problem. They try to create this narrative, and then you know what? I'll give them credit they have stuck with it. They have not faltered at any point from their narrative. It has been the same for four years, and it has got to be eye opening when half of America goes. Sorry. We didn't buy it. We didn't see that the same way you did. 10 49 now 51283605 90. Listen, I think that a long, long list of ones they're signed to go to stick out, you know, because they're always creating problems may like controversy division and all that. You all know it. Well that that is going to be fascinating to watch that play out in the house because the Republicans added at least seven seats. They're in a stronger position, and she could add more to they could add Mohr. And when it comes to Fox, Fox is director of Analytics is the one who actually made that call and they leave it up to him to make those decisions. And then, of course, Bret Baer followed along and announced it, but it's actually there. They're director of Analytics aren't on Michigan, I think is his name. He's the one that said he's the one that said Biden is goingto win Arizona. Well, it is interesting because Fox to come out, and I think a P is the only other one that has That already said all the rest of the network step back and was like you were going to let this one play out. Yeah, Alright, Eddie. Thanks. You have a great day, It could end up still going to Biden. Trump is closing it, though very, very rapidly. He won 57% of the latest batch of votes that were counted in Arizona. Let's go. Also to East Austin with Gavino on K LBJ, Mark and Melinda. Good morning. How are you, Gavino? I'm doing great. How back yourself. Enjoy your program, and I'm glad they got to have this program educating the people on by in perspective. Thank you, Gavino. Good to hear from you. What? Do your dots this morning? Well, my thoughts that I've been listening to this morning and ah I have not realized that there were a lot of Latinos that voted for Trump and a lot of African Americans. And ah They were alluding to other Democrats were kind of big time surprised because of those results. Yes, I just want to say that the majority of those voters that went after and voted for Or Trump Latinos, rocket just people. Latinos were really that party affiliated. There were more independent, and so they see Trump as Ah Lan politician. And a businessman. That's why a lot of Latinos that I heard of a line with him and his agenda. That's why you have a lot of them come out and look for him. In huge numbers has supposed to. Ah, when it hey ran against Hillary. That makes sense Gavino, and we've had numerous calls from listeners who said..

"The background of real crab, Okay? Fake crab You Eurovision, the best worst movie I've seen in a long time. It's convened out rich ESPN radio. We talked help a lot about the NFL. And J. J. Watts tweet to set the world ablaze this morning. Every NFL player coming too. His defense saying, Hashtag we want to play but we need some type of really set the world ablaze. Did you know? I don't know. Sheltered me out of bed this morning. I think it was sweet. You said Whoa. So what was that sweet We'll talk some more NFL. MBA bubble, But I'm reading on feedback. Argies are reading our feedback. Just know that everyone that disagrees with me. I hate you back. That's sweet. That's Gavino. I'm rich. And as I read the feedback, let me just say That crowd noise being pumped in to baseball games. And when the NFL starts up again, I think is a nice touch. I think it gives you a little sense of normalcy. It's not obvious. So unless you're watching closely, you feel like you're in it convenient things just lame. This communal thinks everything is like nice touch. What so we could avoid the reality of the fact that there's no fans there. To break the news to everybody, but cardboard cut outs don't make noise. That's just the world. We're living in SoHo. You fallen like school kids like we're adults. I think we can handle no noise. And like the organ guy playing a stake here, the announcement. Listen, no batting. You know, you get to hear the The game the way it's really playing this really unique time in our life while you got a pump in fake lame video game, let me go to our Twitter and say hello to Robin Robin. Family ties. You love family ties They have left there left when I was nine years old. I thought Skippy was funny. I love you both those but that crowd noise. Sounds like you're playing r b I baseball in 1990 too. You know, you should put the background then. Then I didn't And don't tell them because you know why. It gives rich comfort. What was the other thing? That's that was R B. I write those bases along pound pump on pound weapon up on them. From now on, every time I bump bump that was actual Nintendo baseball on, I think I think Excite bike. Maybe I'm just singing Excite by regal Regal Beagle Kamina Regal Beagle three's company had had fake laughs noted It was filmed in front of a live studio audience. Jordan Jordan hit us up, saying so, having baseball back fellas, But the court boards are lame and the fake crowd noise is lame, too. Look, it's just unnecessary. I'm not pulling my hair out about the noise. Do I care that much? No. Nope. Crashing meet, says J. J. Watt loves himself some J J Watt. I'm with Calvino. What's gonna kick your ass? If he ever sees you, you could get lucky. Step on it Step on it like he's going to give you a wedgie. And he also said no cardboard cutouts, fellas. Just weird, so lots of great feedback on Twitter at Covino. And rich on my leg. I got to make it very clear that my man about it, Um I like boycott, listening to baseball and watching because of the crowd noise? No, I'm so excited. Do I think we need it? No, not at all. Like, I think we might. I think we're actually taking away from Really cool opportunity to hear what it's like without the crowd, you know, you hear you hear. That manager calling out to his players. You're here in players. You know you're here and we want a pitcher, not a belly. It should still do that big. It's right here. The players want the picture. You're hearing things you would never hear on TV. That stuff. You're just mad because you were the belly. It, um I'm also seeing that a lot of people are saying if baseball does finish their 60 games Have have you noticed that the projections sort of have most of the teams like I know it's only 60 games, right? And you know, I love the word parody party that I love parody in sports. I love how the NFL every year, there's so many teams that are between six and 10 and 10 and six. I love that the competitive nature of the NFL It's fantastic right now. In baseball in the past years, have a handful of 100 a couple teams that are on the brink of 100 games. You know what a crappy teams they're saying with such a short schedule, they feel like most teams are going to be like 35. 25 37 23 33 27. They think that they think that the benefit of this is that your team will never really be that far out of it at any point where even though it's 60 games And you think And what could they really do? Well, pretty close, much like basketball. Some young team could take it in fire in fire. And it could be a whole different outcome than we would have thought. You know what I want you thinking that you know what? I won't sit quiet, exciting now, but I won't subscribe to the Ah Highlights magazine Sports Illustrated. Unless you get that free football phone, Then we'll take that bad boy. What I will subscribe to is, Yeah. Highlights magazine because I don't work at a dentist office. Hidden pictures of too easy Now I'm a grown man. What I won't subscribe to is whoever wins The MBA NHL. Or MBA titles that there's an asterisk is that there'll be an asterisk is of the nature of the season. But let's say, Give me a team that never won if the Seattle Mariners Win the World Series..

"NBC radio news has been a really interesting study about the Trump tweets. Now he is tweeting more, but does it have the same impact that it wants did Michael has an interesting thought or two about that? Michael, thanks very much for joining us this morning. So what's the story on this, this new study? This may be a sign that president from strongest communication tool might be losing its effectiveness, or on some level that the novelty of his tweets worn off, but his tweets and become less of an impact, and they have less of an impact now than they did two years ago. You might remember before becoming President Donald Trump claimed that being on Twitter would allow him to ditch the media and deliver his message straight to the people, and that was certainly the case of the onset. But now the tweets the President Trump is issuing don't seem to pack the same punch interaction rate, which is a measure of the impact given how much he tweets and how many people follow him has since I going into office when he was in office, the measure of re tweets and likes per tweet divided by the size of his following was that point five five percents that was the month, he was elected then dropped two point three two by June twenty seventeen. And now it's way down two point one six percent this month going through. Twenty fifth. So again, it's the simple math of his number of tweets and re tweets and likes per tweet divided by the size of his following so not much that can get in the way of those kinds of numbers because it seems as though the president is tweeting a lot more than he did in his first six months. He was initially on average tweeting one hundred fifty seven times per month during his first six months, that's now up to two hundred eighty four times for it's almost double the rate, he was tweeting when he first went into office, and maybe this is an indication that because he's tweeting more. It's not likely to make any one particular tweet stand out, more than the other. So I don't really know what all this means long term. But I think it makes perfect sense, when you think about it the first time you heard of a school shooting you were absolutely shocked now it's not to say that you're not shocked. You're not appalled, but it doesn't have the same. It doesn't have the same kind of impact President Trump the first time he said, treason. I mean people went crazy. Now, he'll say, treason and. Hardly makes a blip. That's just since April. First President Trump is tweeted about treason seven times becomes less impactful, the more you're tweeting about it. Right. We're talking about no collusion fifty four times in the last month or no obstruction thirty times in the last month. It kind of goes, well we know where you stand on it. It's, it's not like we don't know that, that's the case. So you're also seeing a lot of news outlets. Cover a D tweets less Toronto stars Washington bureau, Daniel Dale says, listen, the way the President Trump's lines of attack have been repeated. They don't shock anyone anymore. Less likely to cover that tweet. I'm also less likely than for my casual readers to hear about those tweets. So things are definitely changing. Now, the thing that makes this interesting and kind of scary to certain extent is the president is using these tweets as a foundation for starting policy. So what we know is Dansk Gavino, whose President Trump's Twitter, co pilot and senior adviser for digital strategy at the White House. At one point time was called into a meeting recently were President Trump wanted him to come in and convince lawmakers voters liked President Trump's surprise plan to pull all troops out of Syria, based on lights and re tweets on Twitter. So it won't point interrupting the meeting, the president, that gets Gavino in here and had Gavino try to tell these legislators. How popular his policy is just based upon lakes and re tweets on Twitter. So that could be a concern certainly going forward the twenty twenty here. It's his tweets are less impactful.

"Well, now, his look putting pieces of this CNN. Of course. So you got to consider the source. CNN's reporting from Jake tapper and others. Donald Trump has been pushing to reinstate border family separation policies and sought the closed the border at El Paso. As conflict with homeland security secretary Kirsten Neilsen reached a boiling point, see what day she's not. He wants you to do some things. She doesn't feel. To Thursday's meeting of the Oval Office of top officials, including Nielsen secretary of state, Mike Pompeo, top aides, Jared, Kushner, Mercedes schlep and Dansk Gavino White House counsel pets is it sip baloney. Baloney and more the president going to one tending was ranting and raving saying border security was his issue. And he's right. I mean, you don't get this. Right. You don't get reelected. Senior administration officials said that Trump in ordered Nielsen pump to shut down the port of El Paso, the next day that would have been Friday March twenty second at noon, the plan was that in subsequent days. The Trump administration would shut down other ports. Nielsen told Trump that would be a band and even dangerous idea and the governor of Texas, Gregory, Abbott has been very supportive of the president. And then she proposing alternative plan that would slow down entries legal ports. She argued that. If you close all the ports of entry, all you would be doing is ending legal legal trade and travel, but migrants will just go between the ports. Bit of maroon presences, I don't care. So he's getting frustrated, obviously, they're supposed to be shutting down this illegal immigration coming across doing it. Ultimately, Mick Mulvaney, acting White House chief of staff seem to have been able to talk the president of closing the pass though Trump over was insistent that his ministry should begin. Taking another action denying asylum seekers entry Nielsen tried to explain the president of the asylum laws allow migrants from Central America to come to the US and gain entry. She talked to the White House counsel. The there were any exceptions. But he told her that her reading of the law was correct. So this is a congressional problem, obviously. And let me tell you who didn't fix this problem when they were in charge. The Republicans why didn't they fix these problems with the law? They could have passed in the house passed in the Senate, Trump would assign it it would have been changed this bovines scatology that you can come to this border and just willy nilly seek asylum and come in. I mean, there needs to be some sort of procedure is not really now I want to swerve into something else. Here the come my tension today. And this is the risk, of course, of the certainly the ir the left because they're really big on this. But I'm just going to say something because it needs to be said. You got this democratic presidential hopeful this guy who's the mayor of. South bend, Indiana. Who if he weren't gay and married to a dude he would be getting no press whatsoever. Nobody would pay any attention. What is his name boot, gig, whatever his name is. Whatever's name is yesterday, he took on vice president Mike Benz, who of course, his stance on the gbi LT issues have faced criticism from gay rights activists saying that offense has a problem. That's what he says. If with who I am your problem is not with me. You're quarrel service with my creator. Of course, he made the comments while speaking of the gbi LT victory fund national champagne brunch in Washington DC. Hey reflected on his personal struggles. With a sexuality is decision to come out in two thousand fifteen and the fact that his being gay is not the result of a personal decision. If me being gay was a choice. It was a choice that was made far far above my pay grade. And that's the thing. I wish that Mike Pence. The Mike Pence is the world understand that if you got a problem with who I am your problem is not with me. You're quarrel, sir is with my creator, and I get it. I get that. I understand that position. But here's the other side of the coin. And here's the other position that really now has become almost well, I say almost it is definitely unacceptable by the left, but it is a biblical view. That homosexuality is a sin. And if you want some matter of fact, my wife was asked me about this. She says where is this? And you can make the argument. Well, I mean, they say, well, so is is whether all sorts things won't get into. But you know, a woman on that time of month is considered unclean. There's all sorts of things that people thought were ritualised stick understand the ritual Listrik thing the Jews did, you know, this thing that we we lived in Jewish neighborhood. And so they had to sinks because you can't let the meets and everything else. The visuals and fruits ever be in the same thing. That was my understanding. Why was and so we had to in our kitchen, which was originally, I guess some Jewish folks Bill Jewish neighborhood. We actually bought it from a Catholic family. She I don't know. She may have been married to a Jewish guy who knows, but we had to sinks, and you know, and they right side by side. That's a rich realistic thing that was done for Clinton this purposes. I think when they see into bible that a man shown that a man who lies with the nation really had nothing to do with claim and do some things with clean, but. It was more of the belief is is that two men line together isn't a bomb nation. And you can you can sit there and say, well, no, it's not. I'm just telling you if you are somebody who was religious, and you're reading this in the bible. You can't fault. Anybody for thinking that homosexuality is a sin? So when you say that now, that's a hate crime. This is what the we've come to. So I'm looking here. This other this over the weekend. Then I put this. I don't know that I put this story up there. If I didn't we will. Oh, yeah. Everybody celebrating the weekend where this gay couple to guys had a baby. Well, I know it's physically impossible for two gay guys everybody. So how'd they do it? Well, here's what they did. You had one of them's sister. Who donated the eggs to conceive? And then it was it was, you know, in an in vitro thing, and then they planted this in one of the guys, I'm not kidding one of the guys mothers. And she carried the baby Termine had the baby. So basically, one of the gay guys knocked up the other one sister and their mother and their mother had the baby. And they're calling this wonderful miracle. I think when you got and I know when you got to go that far around your elbow to get to your button. Maybe it was not meant to be. But that's what they're doing. Everybody's calling. This a wonderful, and look anytime there's a birth of a child is a wonderful thing. But there's a reason why two guys can't have a baby together they weren't meant to have a baby together hilar-. That's why we got different plumbing. But now they're going to go through all the and people to say, well, this is the way it's meant to be apparently not. So all I'm saying is there should be room in this tolerance -ociety buyers for the Mike Pence's of the world to believe in their heart by reading the bible that homosexuality is a sin that should not. We should not come to a point where that is considered hate speech. But it's too late folks, we're already there. Now, if you believe the bible, and you believe that one man lying with another man nation before God. Then you're practicing hate speech. You need to be shut down. And so, but guy or whatever his name is this guy who's the first openly gay man to seek the nomination for many baba, which again if we want to treat everybody the same. Nobody would be treating these guys differently. But because he's game because he's married to a dude. He's getting all this press and all this money. Pouring in any has no experience whatsoever. Being mayor of town of two hundred thousand people. I got a friend who was the mayor famil-, and they got two hundred thousand people. No, I'm sorry. I think we've found out that south bend is about one hundred thousand people, but whatever it is one hundred seven so I'm gonna friend of who's Amir or was mayor North Carolina. Two hundred thousand people do do you think for one second of this guy? He was running for president anybody would take him seriously. Of course, none. You know, why? Because he's a hetero. It doesn't make any difference. But then we're told that we shouldn't treat anybody any differently. Well, why are we treating this Pete guy any differently because he's gay if he's not experienced he's coming from a small town. And this is ridiculous to think that you can go from being mere south bend being president of the United States. Why can't we say that? Of course, you say, then and your anti-gay, your homophobic, your hate speaker in the rest of all I'm saying is this. I think the Pete has every right to believe that his sexuality is completely natural to him. And he goes with it. I'm down with that. I'm a living that live guy. "L? Which is say, it's a bad thing would Facebook blocks, the White House social media director bad just a little bit. I think actually happened yesterday. You know, add this onto all the other things. Devin Nunes, says Representative he is suing Twitter what two hundred fifty million right for shadow banning him as a conservative. I think the day of reckoning is coming for all these social media giants. I really do. Well, especially with Facebook yesterday. They had to actually admit that they thought the White House. Social media director was bought. Dansk Gavino, and he was livid or at least appear to be any blasted Facebook with another post an angry post. He said why are my why am I being silenced? Well, that of course, gets hold of the president who's been looking for something like this. He says I'm looking into that issue right now. Wow. That's bad. This on top of what it was it two weeks ago Twitter admitted and that you're Rogan podcast that the are banning conservatives at a much higher rate. Silence them, so they do during the election. Oh, absolutely it. It's all about the name of the game. That's it. So you know, you got the elections racist coming up. I don't know. I think they're just gonna kill each other off on the democrat side because there's so many many of them Andrew gillum are former failed candidate for governor. Isn't that what we would call him? Yeah. And former mayor of Jacksonville veiled candidate, but candidate for president is fatal rock. Yeah. That's him to another one. So we'll put the two losers together. And you know, what that would probably win the democratic ticket. Sure, it could put the two of those to go. Gather expecting Gillam to make that announcement at some point like mid day from Tallahassee running for president. Yeah. Another one running for running for president. So he can get out of his FBI charges, actually. I know it went off the headline. So we didn't pay attention to it. But has that been completely cleared up barely? So if he's running for especially if he makes his announcement that he is running for the presidency. You would assume that he doesn't have any baggage coming along with him legal baggage that is never know or search through or maybe it's going to be the other thing that he's got a new show on on CNN on FOX. Yeah. That could be just skipped the whole thing. Because of the whole goal is to get a media geic. Right. That. People like gillibrand from New York. She knows she's not going to win. But they're looking for speaking gigs book deals, CNN jobs. Okay. Does that make you want? Somebody. Take a gillibrand there it does that make you want her to see more to come to your event and speak because she just said she's going to run for the presidency. No. But then she can it looks great and your right? You could get no votes, but you can still put on your resume former presidential candidate. And then all of a sudden, you can charge fifty thousand extra bucks is speaking gig. Okay. So how much how much do you need to say you're going to run for the presidency? Do I need any political background? Technically. No, no. 'cause. Do I need money to like do fill out an application and stuff? Yeah. Okay. Let's get one. Might as well I'll announce my candidacy as an independent. All right. Maybe I have to go as a Republican that way. I don't think you have to okay. I'll go as an independent then you'd have to face you and Howard Schultz. Oh, jeez. As long as he brings Starbucks. That's it. Powered bring the coffee wrote meet for a coffee talk. Are you? Sure, you should be smart about this. There's no doubt about it. We talked to him last week number two. What he told us? Everybody pays it starts including him. And we said, we know rather a speaking of media gigs. Well, this should surprise. Nobody. Former house speaker Paul Ryan is now a board member of the FOX Corp. Ooh. Weren't. We just listened to us with the FOX. Maybe this explains why Donna Brazile just got hired there. Yeah. And Janine Pirro just got suspended for two weeks. Oh, it was scheduling problem Bill. They have other shows. They gotta run. Watch the shows they after run sure they did. I don't know why she's being, you know, I'm glad they didn't fire, but why even suspended her of excuse me, a scheduling problem suspended for two weeks show boy, and she's been off the grid too. I think this was a wink wink nod nod. Let's just cutting go away. School for a little while. Isn't it funny though? How many people they've done far worse things than Roseanne Barr. Did Roseanne lost his show other people just slap on the wrist. Absolutely terrified boy helper caused by doing crazy wheels off videos. Well, that's true too. She's still doing crazy wheels off videos. That's that's good. That's a helping anything wrong. You know? I agree. She now she's really gone wheels off though, it's kind of scary. We were all excited we talked about it. And in fact, they twenty four hours ago at the big announcement the lineup for Woodstock. Oh, yeah. Are you ready? You're more excited about it. And then then we find out it was going to be last night. And then it was going to be at some studio electric lady. Okay. The fame studio in New York, and and then we played the lineup in the announcers, and I was like snooze fest. Boy was this underwhelming. Holy cow. Underwhelming first of all my God, the original you may if you saw the Woodstock booby. No. This was a kid at the time. Michael Lang wargin is the thing. He was you know, he's organizing this one he's like a thousand years old now. Well, he was like nineteen or twenty when he did the first one. I mean, he was really young. Now, he got up here along with common. The hip hop artist. Okay. Who still wasn't very excited about it?.

And you can now hear us on the FM dial and Pasco and Hernando or on ninety nine point one FM penelas ninety four point five FM and Hillsborough one zero five point nine FM. You could still listen to us on nine seventy AM. And of course on your iheart radio app. Joining us on the hotline, we have with us political Florida reporter, Eric Sarkisian. He can follow on Twitter at Eric Circassian, Eric how are you? I'm doing great. How about you? Good. Thanks so much for joining us this evening before we get to the sports betting aspect of the story that you have in political Florida. Give us a quick recap on amendment three for those who might have forgotten or didn't fully understand the amendment back in November because it ties in directly with the discussion. We're about to have a amendment three. Actually, I'm sure there's a lot of voters will know about it because they actually supported it amendment three past November six somewhere just north of seventy one percent of the vote, which obviously we saw with turnout in this midterm, which was substantial that was. That's that's a that's a pretty good spread to pass an amendment and the amendment actually, they called the voters the voters in control. Actually, there was a committee. It requires a statewide referendum for any sort of change to stay gaming policy that we as a as a expansion. The what it does do it all, but it exempts except the Seminole tribe of Florida, which has sixteen Florida one of them right there in Tampa with which they have another one on Hollywood. So they could expand. If they wanted to without things going back to the voters to vote on they can negotiate their way to start to start expanding, but they still have. But at the end of the day when they served when they start talking Turkey with lawmakers during the legislative session, they have to get the sign off from the beach was as well. The payer neutrals are the ones who are in. Our fantasy sports are are fantasy sports sites. Those are the ones that are stuck having to deal with the statewide referendum, which is done to a citizen petition which is. Incredibly costly and time, consuming, and and tricky, there's no I mean, it's it's like it's trying to of bet on election. So it's a little difficult, but the tribe doesn't have to do that part. So they're they're saving money there. At least they will get a leg up into the negotiation. So what's in this sports betting Bill that's being pushed by some Republicans? And who's behind the Bill? Sure as the right now, it's gonna be a Senate President Bill, you know, who who oddly enough with in two thousand ten he sponsored the Bill that turned into the the compact at the Seminole tribe has with the state to operate casinos through a federal a federal law. Senate president Delvino they told me that he he they wanted to sports betting both sides. Both the pair mutuals. Sports fan drafting and the tribe all one it is sports betting. So the question is how they're going to figure that out sports betting. Overall, their studies that say sports betting isn't as lucrative as people might think it is going to be a bunch of a boost of the budget, but especially with the tribe because they're building to resort style facilities in Tampa. And right now, it brings people in and the and the and the and the neutrals want that too because he already appropriate. So that that's the big attraction there sports betting on the question is how they're going to how the Senate will get around get around it but address amendment three because anyway, looking at they're gonna have to do something because it is expansion. So they're considering and they think legally sports betting is considered part of the gambling. That was addressed in amendment three. It's not something kind of on the side or a little bit different that they could do. Differently than bringing it directly to the voters now, and they actually I think that the fantasy sports that that actually had actually tried to go that route or they tried to push an initiative that actually separated from how the federal law defines casino style games class three gaming they wanted to be separated. And actually that would have become the framework to separate sports betting to some degree. It was it was an opportunity that failed to try was adamantly opposed to it. But yeah, it it will be it will be expensive gambling. You will allow more gambling it? It's a huge huge market here in Florida. I think they're saying it's eight hundred fifty million a year in profits just jobs at thirty going on. So it's kinda tap into trying to tap into that that and some states already jumping on this some states have already incorporated sports betting into how they operate. We're just one of the states that's kind of trying to figure out how we can best. Go about it. Because it's this. This is one of those issues to me and correct me if I'm wrong based on what you're hearing. This is coming one way or another at some point. I think that the law the way the lawmakers see it because it's another another source of revenue. It allows them to do. Another thing on slot machines for the pair mutual their tax all the winnings. Attacked by thirty five percent last year generated two hundred million dollars a win straight to the state education by on they want to bring that that tax down to by letting last year they tried to do by five percent. But to replace that revenue it's important because I schools they want to bring it in with with these with sports betting revenue and you'll see in a lot of other states. Are we are we have we political New Jersey? Sports betting isn't doing as good as their. But as president Gavino said, you know, this is Laura y'all got three four teams you to have the bucks on there. We've got you know, golf fishing mangas here. We've got baseball all of the Gulf alone you'd actually pick the individual shots. Wow. There's so many ways to do it in the best way to describe me. Is it it's an Eric go out to Vegas during final four, you know, during the MTA basketball finals, the place is absolutely packed because everyone is betting on games. Imagine of all of those crowds came down to you know, seminal, art rock. Yeah. Hollywood Seminole hard rock Champa or best bet Jack Kudo, which has lucrative talk around in the state right now, we're talking to Erik Sarkisian political Florida reporter who did a story on the potential of sports betting to come to the state of Florida. And when you think about it. I mean, you've got your right? You've got the three NFL teams here. You've got a basketball team. You've got two baseball teams. I mean, there's a lot happening here in the state of Florida when it comes to sports betting you add in the Gulf and things like that. And and it could be very lucrative. Let me ask you this with the Senate president behind it. How much does that affect the possibility that something gets done? It's a good sign. If defendant presidents behind it the president, obviously, there's gonna be through the entire other half of the of the legislature was which is House Speaker Jose Leyva, the Senate president and house speaker did work together last year, they were actually the two negotiating sides for this issue. And I think just by knowing both of them. I think both of them are sick. We haven't really had much of an extent much of any sort of changes to stay gaming because of this stalemate between, you know, the different industries and also legislature. They want to get something done. Speaker level is a no nonsense guy. He wants to get things done. She doesn't. More based on principle. If he wants to get something done, he's probably gonna do it. And I think that Senator president Gavino is right there with them. They they want to get something done. And again, the game is different because the sports betting provides could provide revenue it'll be good for for tourism. It's going to help that again all the people that are going to Vegas in in March magin them coming on Florida either. Especially I grew up in Michigan. I'd love to come down. Exactly. No. It's a great point. What what about governor to Santa's? Do we know where he stands on this issue? I have not heard him say a chance to ask that question. I think the the one time I think he was actually asked he had actually said he did not believe that that amendment should be on the ballot. And he left it at that. He hasn't really had a chance last time. I'd ask get actually said is some bigger fish to fry larger issues he had to deal with you know, one of them being obviously medical marijuana and storm recovery right on. So he he hasn't had a chance to dressy yet. But I know I was told my my dad was in Jacksonville that he'd be tied in with the folks over at Jacksonville. Because again that they brought in their brought him by twenty million dollars and two thousand seventeen which is I think that would like like they were only followed by another one like five million dollars last. I forgot they any was truly truly profitable. But told that that those relationships aren't there as much there is one with thanks for being from the same region. He could go either way who who is the big opposition to getting something like this done. To getting sports betting on the right? Point. It would probably be the the. A lot of people who just flat out oppose oppose gaming. But I mean, the, you know, the no casinos folks, don't wanna see this. But is there more? Is there more of that on one particular side of the aisle than the other? I think. I think I think there's more people who are who are somewhat more or less indifferent to it. Obviously, you've got groups, you know, you know, who enrolling against gaming and whatnot. Yeah. But at the end of the day, I think the big thing with no casinos was you know, there's a lot of them backing comes from Connecticut hotels and whatnot. And they don't wanna see the competition from didn't want the competition from these these are growing developing hotels and whatnot. They don't they don't want to didn't want to lose business. Nielsen wanna lose the image of Florida. I mean, that's why that's why I supported amendment three so much as much as I tried to research upside downside, could isn't he he did not want. You know, they wanted people come here for family environment. They wanna talk if you're gonna you're gonna blow your money doing a New Orleans, you know, in one of their properties, we're talking to you Eric Circassian politico, Florida reporter who reported on the potential for sports betting to come to the state of Florida. So what are some of the complications that might arise as the Bill makes its way forward during the legislative session is it really trying to figure out how best to put this to Floridians. The biggest issue that they're going to face is is just coming to terms with with something. I mean, the biggest issue that they had last year was that that, you know, the the mutual or the tribe or really willing to to give him too much. I was just it was another stalemate. They're going to have to come to the table. Something the tribe sports betting is you know, is very interested in sports. I didn't because they're gonna make that I think the facility in Hollywood is eight hundred new hotel rooms that beautiful building in the shape of guitar. They're gonna need to find ways to fill that filled up. They're gonna wanna do that. Because they've got to pay now because it was a that was a one point five billion dollar project. So they've got that interest. They're dependent mutual also have the interest of their finally able to couple some of their tracks with the dog racing down. You know now involuntary phase and eventually going into full phase. They've got they've got that as well. And another thing is bolstering our to our tourism tax setup. We the most of our money, we get tax, and you know, a good chunk of that comes from them. So. You know at some point. They've they've got to settle on something. And Lastly, I mean, the the the gaming compact, but the tribe generate somewhere like thirty three hundred forty four million. I think that's your that's just that's straight general revenue that will help the budget the budgets getting tighter. There's a lot to worry about with storm recovery with Michael we're still dealing with stuff with Irma..

Can it has the power or should be nominating? A supreme court Justice. And you'll see all linking Ruth Bader Ginsburg to the impeachment. You say as soon as she resigns steps down that's going to be the trigger for the Dem's. That's their strategy. That's the only strategy. They have left. They're not gonna be able to attack.
